RWBY V07E07 - Worst Case Scenario

It has been two weeks since I last watched RWBY so let me try and remember what happened. There was a party, some flirting, a kiss... and that's it, right? Nothing bad happened, right? Right?

* sigh *

I assume someone is going to drop the title referring to the fallout after what happened last episode. I expect riots and Grimm, and maybe Robyn trying to commandeer the resources destined for the future Amity Tower (which is probably the only thing Ironwood _really_ cares about since he has been all "it's worth the sacrifice" the entire season so far.) I don't want to keep waiting so let's do this!

Oh no, sad Penny. What an auspicious start for the episode.

This is her dad, right? Those robot pats straddle the line between dorky and sad. I doubt the military wants Penny in the streets so I guess this is the only way he can be with her. Ugh. My heart.

Look at this crime against humanity. RT will answer for this someday!

Oh, one of the thirsty moms survived! The one with the casserole!

She's _terrified_, and with good reason. From her point of view, her own government killed her friends for daring to believe. What if she's next? Is Atlas going to start hunting everyone who supported Robyn? What about the people close to them?

We know that's not going to happen but she (and the rest of Mantle) is in all her right to believe it will

It's interesting how the scene that was, at the time, only a gag showing Jaune's bad luck and some cute kids with their moms, ended up being setup to show us how quick everything changed. Now their moms are dead and they are orphans, alone and in the cold.

Of course, this only furthers my belief that nothing good can be trusted in RWBY because it'll only be used to increase our suffering.

I'm going to _pissed_ if this happens. Stop killing Penny for god's sake.

Was Ozpin an "end justifies the means" man? I think he wasn't really, or at least he didn't consider himself one, but he had spent so much time alive he lost sight of what he was doing and asking people to do for him really meant.

In comparison Ironwood knows exactly what's going on. He believes he's doing the right thing by prioritizing the tower over his people. And maybe he's right from a global point of view? But the fact that the human lives that are going to be lost are the ones that were _already_ suffering is a supremely bad look. What's going to be left of Mantle after he saves the world?

Ilia said exactly the same thing back in Volume 5, almost word for word. I wonder if the callback is intentional or if there's just not that many ways to use that concept as an excuse.

I love how Nora is the one speaking up but I hate that no one is supporting her. Winter looks completely unimpressed back there but I didn't expect much from her or Clover but what about the rest?

I _love_ that they are all right, or rather, their opinions are all understandable. I can see where both Yang and Blake are coming from and there's no way to say "ah, the show is doing everything it can to show that Yang is wrong."

Which keeps increasing my worry about how they are going to handle the end of the arc because so far the show has been very even handed but any ending where the long term sacrifice and oppression of Mantle ends up being justified is going to be... well, bad. It doesn't help that the "oppression" hasn't been really visible so it could be reaally easy to just sweep it under the carpet and just say something about "things are going to be better from now on" or even "they weren't that bad to begin with"

Anyway, this is me getting worried about things that may not even happen so I won't keep talking about it. Let me say instead how happy I am that they are still dealing with what happened with Adam and of course that would color Blake's views of what she wants to do in the future.

And is that treason I'm hearing here? I expected a team up with Robyn but I didn't expect it to come from these two. Interesting. Is Yang going to spill the beans to her about the tower and Salem?

Look at those green borders inside the boot! Tsk, tsk, Watts. He obviously was getting bored of masking Penny frame per frame.

I _really_ didn't expect this to be the answer for Penny's soul. I was in the "there's no artificial soul" camp but I expected something like Pietro transferring someone else's soul or a lost daughter, not him literally giving her part of his soul.

What does this mean for Penny? Does the part of the soul Pietro gives her grow like a plant from a cutting or everything she uses her semblance or is hurt she loses a bit more of it? It has to grow, right?

It's good to see an explanation for Pietro's death flags. Is he going to die saving Penny one last time? Jaune is learning how to manipulate his aura outwards...

Just lol at the being an obvious villain even in the group pictures.

So, is this personal for Watts? Did Ironwood choosing Penny mean the end of his career? Did he try to do whatever he planned anyway and got fired?

The hand again! Is that how she activates her semblance? But if she needs the person to grab her hand, what did she expect from Clover?

Also, props to the show for making everyone react somewhat realistically. Of course, Robyn was going to run the second she saw Ironwood's new pets.

Is Ironwood intentionally using RWBY and the rest to keep suspicions down? "They are all young and attractive, some even look innocent, there's no way they are doing anything _bad_, right?" But again, that would mean Ironwood is playing 4D chess and I'm not sure that's his deal.

Oh no. And Yang is so proud of her pun.

That was a good first step. I can't deny I was hoping for Yang and Blake to join the huntresses and kick ass but I was dreaming too big.

...so it was Ozpin idea to have a city floating above Mantle making ther differences permanently clear? Has Ozpin ever had a good idea?

Atlas is 100% going to crash into the ground. I think everyone already suspected it'd happen but this is a gigantic death flag.

Ironwood is sliding down as fast as he can down the slippery slope of the greater good. He didn't want Ozpin's opinion, he wanted Ozpin to tell him he was right.

It feels so bad to take away from Oscar's growth but I wonder if they are already merging.

That was a great episode to return to. Somehow RWBY is managing to handle all the balls it had in the air earlier in the season and hasn't dropped one yet.

I was expecting that the episode would start with Yang and Blake or Weiss and company but nope, just sadness and tragedy. Followed by more consequences, in the form of Robyn and her happy huntresses finally doing what they probably wanted to do from the start. If the "legal" way didn't work, well, time to do it anyway. That does leave me with some questions about how long was the timeskip between episodes, it can't be that same night, especially with the news showing things like "additional deaths confirmed." Maybe same week but at least a couple of days later?

Ironwood needs someone to shake him by the shoulders. Some of the things he's saying wouldn't be out of place in any villain's origin story, especially the part about wanting to get rid of his fear. I hope Jacques being the awful man he is shows him what waits for him in the other side.

Pietro's reveal about Penny's soul really feels like the biggest of his death flags so far. Him dying trying to make Penny live again really feels like end-of-season drama, considering there's no Pyrrha to kill again and apparently RT really likes killing Penny. Jaune _just_ learning about the possibilities of his semblance feels weirdly suspicious now that we know about Penny's aura but... it's a bit too out there since I think they have never talked. Or maybe it's all a misdirect and someone else ends up dying with RT winking at us saying "you really though it'd be Penny, huh?" At this point I'm not sure what'd be worst.

I liked everything about Yang and Blake's talk in the truck. I'm not a big fan of Yang's main trait lately being "dislikes secrets" (the secondary being "likes Blake") but I'm not sure if overcoming that is just her next step in her growth or if that's all there's going to be.

Their chat with Robyn was great, I can't wait for the repercussions of telling the leader of the resistance the biggest secret Atlas has. With Ironwood being who he is, it could be _bad_ for the couple which could push everyone else in one direction or the other, and not necessarily the _same_ direction, as we already saw with Ren who's officially canceled because for some reason he's going all fash (I _really_ need an explanation before the season ends)

This volume is going places, can't wait for the next episode! Until next time!

hi there love, welcome to the fandom!! enjoy the circus! it gets rowdy but it’s entertaining– 🤡

i just wanna tell u that my opinion may differ from others so you’re free to seek other opinions too if you deemed my answer unsatisfacory ! so lemme list to u what books are worth to waste diamonds on and which ones are not in my opinion. the ones i might have not mentioned are probably in between or in the middle.

so, for diamond spending, if you’re kinda on the economic budget level of can afford to purchase some-many, then these books are the bomb and would definitely be worth your penny.

i. : bloodbound. pretty ironic huh considering i’m a bloodbound idiot myself. lmao. but it’s worth every penny if u haven’t farmed enough diamonds! also yes you can farm in this app. the reward system is pretty generous once u know how to utilize it. tho some LIs wouldn’t have an immediate diamond option while others have one almost immediately, just weigh whether u need to purchase it or not. the diamond scenes for each LI is equally compelling and incredibly worth it. what i do tho for the most efficient way of spending those ingame currencies is that i don’t buy all outfits. u don’t actually need it. some scenes may suggest but honestly? ive tried having the outfits and not having it and it’s not that much of a difference. i keep the diamonds to spend for important scenes such as the tapestries for back stories and some diamond scenarios that might be informative/entertaining. i’ve bought all diamond options for Adrian so sue me

ii. : the royal romance/heir. same thing with bloodbound. sure, the hair options are majestic. the outfits? have u seen other books release stylish outfits? i personally have not. it’s really magnificent. although sometimes pb milks it, if you’re smart & can live with letting down ur LI for not spending a penny on their vanilla smuts and group gatherings then you’re good to go! just spend it on important pieces of scenes/info that are being paywalled by pb for god knows what reason. trust me, you might be baited but not all diamond options are actually worth it. i love trr/trh don’t get me wrong but this bitch is poor so sure as heck not gonna spend my diamonds like a mad banshee on random shenanigans.

iii. : open heart. dear god. the backbone of all those reused faces in like whatever new book that comes out with pb as of late. jesus. btw the diamond options are worth it! i like to spend diamonds for my LI and some options that are needed by the plot. you’ll know which are those once u get to start the book! i just don’t buy anything related to appearances unless it’s necessary to the plot. pb ain’t gonna bait this broke bitch because if my LI truly loves me they’ll accept me even if i wear a garbage bag

iv. : platinum. okay? where should i begin? because u actually need diamonds in this book? hello? i started this book without spending diamonds and where did that take me? a broken guitar, missed opportunities and slow rising fanbase lmao. so please do yourself a favor, save up and check out walkthroughs on how to survive being a star without spending diamonds like crazy. there are actually various options available but u can check it urself so u will be guided. i made terrible choices with my brokeass here and let’s just not talk about that

v. : it lives anthology ( it lives in the woods & it lives beneath ) anyone who knew my ass will know that i’m so much of a cheapskate that i didn’t spend a single diamond on this godtier book and i survived just fine. u can check walkthroughs but i doubt it’ll be much of a help since most of the critical choices are timed and u need to use 200% of ur brain to survive this mess. lmao. okay not 200% but u get my point. ilitw requires to many diamond options to raise nerves of ur crew but u will be fine if u just spend it on important stuff. BUT SURPRISE BITCH LMAO EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT OTHERWISE U R DEAD OR UR FRIENDS ARE DEAD LMAO. but in ilitw u can save the maximum survivors by just making all the right choices!

don’t even get me started on ilb. it lives beneath? THE BITCH DIES BENEATH. LIKE HOW– THE AUDACITY– i lost a fucking pinky because i was too much of a coward to spend my nonexistent diamonds. like how dare thee! lmao. just... just spend ur diamonds for this for the most critical and crucial circumstances. make the correct choices and then you’re good to live. it also has options on where u don’t need to spend diamonds but still making the correct choices under pressure either by timed or by confusion contributes greatly to this story.

vi. : nightbound. YES. YES PLEASE. nightbound is 100% worth to spend on. have u seen that hair? god i love that ombre color!! also uhhh please buy some weapons for ur own good lmao. and just be wise on where those diamonds are going. i always stick by a rule whenever it comes to spending ingame currencies– don’t buy if it’s not necessary to the plot. just purchase what is important, collect information to unlock scenes at the end and choose ur choices wisely. don’t die.

vii. : the elementalists. now. this book. GDI THIS BOOK. this is freaking diamond book???? whenever u spend ur day with ur LI gosh it will ask for diamonds. ( ily beckett dear but ur gf is a brokeass bitch & i cant always spend time with u picking flowers or hanging out with merpeople /crying obscenely ) there are diamond options here that are more important than the smexy scenes with ur LI. diamond options that will allow u to learn things and get equipments that will be ultra useful for the story and plot. what i love about this book is that it’s so personalized to the point that u might feel u truly r ur mc that’s why u might be compelled to purchase things such as outfits and etc but honestly? i went to the dance with the most lameass garb but still got to enjoy it just the same. but the diamonds you spend to learn new infos and heighten ur power? those are the most worth it tbfh. also some non diamond options are actually good than the diamond ones so enjoy familiarizing the world of brokeass people while playing. that’s just me telling u that since im broke i didnt get to glimpse those diamond options sob

viii. : a courtesan of rome. YOOOOOOO this book is wild lmao! i’m incredibly torn whether to tell u to waste ur diamonds for ur LIs or be frugal and choose wisely. follow ur heart while playing this. i absolutely loved how, even if not wearing the most delightful garbs, ACOR mc still kills it as a courtesan. u know what they say, true beauty shines even in the darkest places or the smarmiest set of clothes. she can wear a guard’s armor and she still be slayin. very pretty. i’m in awe.

ix. : perfect match. more like the perfect way to go broke lmao. honestly a god tier book. spend wisely and watch out for options that will ask u to spend diamonds to contribute to the plot. some options will ask u like honestly the other books so by now you know what to do. stay for the plot. it’s really great. and while u r playing please tell eros they suck. 😌

x. : mother of the year. i beg of you to spend ur diamonds on ur child please they deserve the world.

xi. : desire and decorum. honestly speaking i haven’t done that much diamond spending except for my upcoming wedding in book 3 so yes. same applies with what i said, look out and watch for options that will require u to spend but will provide u juicy information as a result. i haven’t bought a single outfit for my mc. i just bought diamond options for my LI and some for some important info and perhaps a bit of information for investigations.

xii. : ride or die: a bad boy romance. GOD. SPEND THOSE DIAMONDS. SPEND THOSE DIAMONDS 🚨🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL I TELL YOU. lmao jk but heyyyy god tier book with worth it purchases ! awesome character designs whispers mona eherm i’ll probably replay to try colt’s route since i’ve honestly only been all about mona for this book but yes. worth the diamonds ! in this book i have spoiled myself and honestly every diamond purchase with the mpc is super duper ultra worth it !

xiii. : books like wishful thinking, veil of secrets, endless summer, the crown and the flame are god tier books that are incredibly worth it for ur diamonds. trust me. tcatf actually has a point system where u can gain in game points and can choose whether to use it or use diamonds for certain options. honestly godtier. endless summer has an interesting way in gaining and losing nerve points and relationship points too! veil of secrets needs ur diamonds for investigation and clue finding and wishful thinking has a very unique premise. everything is worth it.

xiv. : i’m adding the freshman series because /zig ortega/ is worth every penny please and also HSS Class Act and HSS. if you’ve played pb’s highschool story which is a separate app then you’ll enjoy these books.

some books like AME and RCD will require u to spend diamonds for options and might demand it for the plot but i got through everything there and really u can play it without doing so.

honey please don’t spend diamonds for home for the holidays and sunkissed. please. i beg of you. unless u spend diamonds for eliana then fine forgiven but ugh. just please no.

the books i haven’t mentioned like RoE is something i honestly wouldn’t mind with or without spending diamonds. the story is just the same. some are paywalled options. leo’s options are actually interesting since it will shed some light for cordonia but i havent seen pb tackle it directly to the main trr series so idk about that.

It was the late hours into the night when Sweet Pea finally got home from taking care of Serpent business. He was tired, absolutely exhausted. He’d been helping FP with delivering drugs for Penny Peabody and although he’d never say if out loud, the task was definitely taking it’s toll on him. But, he’d never let the Serpent King hang dry. He’d do whatever he could to help. Walking into the darkened and quiet trailer, the tall serpent tried not to make so much noise as to not awaken the person sleeping soundly on his bed. He shed off his jacket, placing it on the coat rack by the door, his black boots followed suit. The tired ebony haired teen walked over to the door separating him from his bedroom and he carefully opened it. It creaked ever so slightly, the hinges a bit rusty. There she was. She wore one of his t-shirts to bed, the same one she wore every night because she said it was her favorite. Her y/h/c hair splayed out all over the pillow, her lips parted ever so slightly. A small smile tugged at his lips that usually fashioned a scowl or a smirk. Her eyes fluttered as if she were dreaming.

Sweets removed the flannel he wore, alone with the shirt underneath, leaving him shirtless. He then removed his black jeans. Just as he did, a soft and tired sounding voice filled the otherwise quiet room. “Sweet Pea?” He looked over to the culprit and saw his girlfriend sleepily rubbing at her eyes, sitting up. “It’s late. Did you just get back? I was waiting for you but I..” She yawned, her small hand over her mouth. “I fell asleep.” Once the tall teen had gotten his jeans off, he set them off to the side and walked over to his side of the bed. “Yeah, I just got back. It was a long night. I should’ve called you, I’m sorry babe. I was just busy.” He crawled into bed with his girlfriend, pulling the covers over himself. His arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her close to his bare chest. The sleepy female cuddled close to him, sighing on content and relishing in the warmth he provided. “S’okay,” she mumbled sleepily. “I missed you.” She murmured, eyes closing as she descended into slumber once again. His dark eyes took in her features, a deep, sleepy chuckle rumbling in his chest. “I missed you too, princess.” Pressing one kiss to her head, Sweet Pea fell into a deep slumber as well where his dreams were very much full of the beauty sleeping beside him. Despite the long nights spent running drugs for Penny, the comfort he had was knowing he’d get to come home to Y/N.

Many, including Sweet Pea himself, had wondered how someone like Y/N could ever choose someone like him. He was someone who usually used violence as an answer for most situations. He was a hot head who flew off the handle if anybody disrespected him or his family/loved ones. He wasn’t exactly what you considered boyfriend material. He usually only hooked up with girls, never dated. It wasn’t so much as if he was scared to date, but more so apprehensive about opening up to someone. But then she came along. He had been at the Wyrm playing pool with some of the other Serpents when she sauntered in with Toni, a radiant smile on her lips. Right from the get go she had captured his attention. Hell, he spent the rest of the evening trying to impress her with his pool skills, he spent the rest of the evening sitting beside her at the bar, chatting her up, shamelessly flirting with her.

“It’s a shame we haven’t met before, though I’m not surprised Toni was keeping a pretty girl like you all to herself.”

But y/n was different. She wasn’t just some girl he wanted to spend one hot night with, someone he’d fuck and then likely never talk to again. No. Dare he say it, he wanted to get to know. And get to know her he did. Sweet Pea learned more about her with each day they spent together, and it only served to remind him that she could most certainly do better than him. At least that’s what he thought. One evening he had taken her out for a ride on his motorcycle. It was one of his favorite things to do, something that cleared his head. But with the beautiful female with him, her slender arms wrapped around his midsection, the way her laugh echoed in his ears as the trees and scenery zoomed by them, it certainly beat playing pool at the Wyrm.

Their first kiss happened that night - he had dropped her off at her home and it seemed neither one of them had wanted to leave each other because once he’d turned the motorcycle off, they both got off and just stood there, looking at each other. “This was the most fun I’ve had in a while. I didn’t know riding bitch could be so fun.” She wise cracked. The dark eyed serpent chuckled, leaning against the black machinery. “Yeah well, I guess I had fun too.” Y/N scoffed, a little smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. “You guess? Oh please, Sweets - you had fun. You can’t fool me. I’m amazing company.” The smirk she wore turned into a grin that proved to be so infectious Sweet Pea cracked a smile of his own. “Alright, I did have fun.” And then quiet overcame them both. They stood there, staring at each other, the sound of crickets and glass breaking in the distance echoing around them. “We should.. do this again.. sometime..” The y/e/c eyed female murmured, not breaking eye contact. Neither did Sweet Pea. In fact, he pushed himself off of his motorcycle and took one big step to where she stood, practically towering over her. His index finger hooked into the belt loops of the shorts that she wore and he tugged her body close to his. Her scent invaded his nose - it was intoxicating. “Yeah, we should.” He murmured huskily, voice deep. They stared at each other for a few more seconds before they began leaning in. One hand slithered up to the back of her neck, bringing her face closer to his own. Their lips were practically touching when he stopped.

“Tell me if you want me to stop and I will.” Of course, he’d never do anything to make Y/N uncomfortable, and as badly as he wanted to kiss her, he wouldn’t force her. But instead, her eyes fluttered up, her lips lightly parted. Her chest rose and fell quickly. “Kiss me.” And that was all that he needed to hear. Sweet Pea smashed his lips against hers, her pink and plump lips moving in sync with his. It was everything and nothing he expected. Her arms snaked around his neck, pulling him closer. The hand that rested on her hip slithered under her shirt and his tattooed thumb gently stroked the soft skin. The hand that was resting on the back of her neck served to pull her face close to his, deepening the kiss. The kiss was slow, passionate, totally unlike what he was used too. At the end of the night he usually ended up clashing teeth and biting lips with some girl he took home.

But he knew.

He always knew that y/n was different. Her lips and her kisses were enough to have him wanting more. Enough to have him falling in love with her.

“Hey Toni.” Y/N walked over to the pink haired beauty who worked behind the bar, a weak smile on her face. Toni looked over at the source of the voice, smiling in return. “Hey y/n. What’s up?” Oh, how to answer that question. The y/h/c haired teen sighed, running her fingers through her hair as she figured out how to formulate the words she was trying to get out. “Have you.. Is.. Have you noticed something off about Sweet Pea?” Toni lifted a brow, looking at her friend for further elaboration. “I mean, has he been acting weird with you? I just.. I don’t know. It’s like every time that I try talking to him, he shuts me out. Every time I wanna make plans to do something with him, he’s busy or he’s tired. The first few times I didn’t mind but this has been going on for a few weeks and I’m just.. I’m worried that he doesn’t want to be with me anymore.” That was a horrible thought for y/n to have on her head but with the way that things had been going in her relationship, was it so out of the ordinary? She and Sweet Pea had been dating for a few months and she wasn’t a Serpent. She was terrified that he had decided he wanted someone who understood him better, someone who he had some more stuff in common with.

Toni frowned at her friend’s words, setting down the rag she had been using to clean the bar. “Y/n, you know that Sweets likes you a lot. He’s probably just got stuff on his mind. Talk to him, try to talk to him one more time before you jump to all these conclusions, okay?” The pink haired female gave her friend a comforting smile, to which y/n returned a small smile of her own. She stood up off of the bar stool she had sat upon. “Thanks, T. Wish me luck and hope that my relationship isn’t over.” With a weak chuckle, she walked out of the bar and headed the short distance to Sunnyside Trailer park. She walked on the dirt, a million thoughts going through her mind about how it would turn out. The y/h/c haired female finally reached the familiar trailer and she could see the lights from the tv through the window. She walked up the steps and knocked on the door. She could hear the sound of footsteps coming to the door and a few seconds later, it opened and her tall boyfriend stood in front of her, staring at her in slight surprise.

“Y/n, what are you doing here?” Sweet Pea asked, leaning against the door frame, arms crossed across his chest. “I came to see you.. Well, that’s partially true, I care to talk to you. Can I come in? Please?” The ebony haired male gave a nod before moving to the side and allowing her to step into the small trailer. She walked over to the couch and sat down, Sweets sitting a few inches away from her. He turned the tv off and silence filled the room, neither one of them saying anything. She fiddled with her thumbs, he sat there staring at the wall across from them. Finally, the silence had been too much to bear and she broke it first. “What’s up with you?”

“What do you mean?” He asked, finally looking over at his girlfriend. Y/n sighed. “I mean, what’s up with you? You’ve been spacing me out for the past couple of weeks and I have no idea what I did. Every time I try to make plans with you, you’re tired or you don’t have time. Is this what you do when you tell me that you can’t hang out? Sit here and watch lame tv shows?” Her words came out harsher than she intended but she was hurt, and she just wanted the truth. Her boyfriend sighed, running his long fingers through his black haired. “Y/n, I can’t talk about this right now-“ She cut him out, scoffing. “And when I want to talk to you, you shut me out. Seriously, Pea. Did I do something? Because if I did, tell me and I’ll try to fix it! Don’t just shut me out. Did you..” she paused, not wanting to say the words. But she did anyway. “Did you meet somebody else?”

His eyes shot to her and he stared at her incredulously. “No! No, what the fuck, y/n? I didn’t meet anybody else. I’m not seeing anybody else but you. You really think that I’d cheat on you?” She rubbed her hands over her face before looking over at him. “Can you blame me for thinking that? You’ve been treating me like I’m not even your girlfriend for the past few days! You either want to be with me or you don’t, Sweet Pea. It’s that simple. Just be honest with me. From the moment we started dating, all I’ve asked for is honesty. That’s it. Talk to me, Pea. Please.” It was eating away at her, not knowing why her boyfriend had been so distant with her, if she had done something wrong, if she was at fault. She wanted so badly to make it work but if he didn’t open up to her and tell her the reason, she wasn’t so sure she had anything to work with.

“It’s not the simple. You wouldn’t understand.” He stated, eyes once again staring at the wall in front of them. She let out a frustrated sigh, fingers running though her hair. “Really? That’s the fucking problem, Sweet Pea. You’re not giving me anything to try and understand. It’s like you don’t trust me and that fucking sucks-“ She had been cut off by her ebony haired boyfriend shooting up from his seat and slamming a hand against the wall, a frustrated ‘fuck’ escaping his lips. Startled by the sudden movements, she jumped slightly, eyes wide and staring at the pacing form of Sweet Pea. “I’m not good at this shit, okay? I’m not good at expressing my feelings. I’m not good at telling people how I feel. I’m not good at this relationship thing. I..” He stopped pacing and turned around to face y/n, except his eyes never quite met hers. “I love you. And I’m scared that I’m gonna fuck it up and you’re gonna realize you can do so much better than me. But it seems like I already did a pretty good job of that.” The world around her seemed completely frozen. The one thing that she has zeroed in on were those three little words she had longed to hear.

I love you.

Part of her had expected that she’d be the one to say it first because she knew that Sweets wasn’t so open with his feelings. But she had never expected that to be the reason why he’d been shutting her out. She was stunned silent, eyes wide and mouth parted. He stared at her, bottom lip worried between his teeth, as he waited for her to say something, anything. But instead of saying something when she finally snapped out of her shocked stupor, she sprang off the couch and raced towards him. She grasped his face between her small hands and brought him down into a searing kiss that showed him one of the reasons why he’d fallen in love with her in the first place. Their lips molded perfectly together, both of them holding tightly onto each other. His hands glided down her waist to her backside where he squeezed before hoisting her up, her legs wrapping around his waist, her arms going around his neck. She pulled away and she said that words he had been waiting for.

“I love you, you dumbass. So fucking much.”

It goes to show, I hope that you know that you are

With a dejected sigh, Sweet Pea rolled over, picked his phone up off of the bedside table and checked the time. The light momentarily hurt his eyes, but once he had adjusted, he saw that it was a little past 2 in the morning. He had been tossing and turning for a while now. Trying to sleep but getting nowhere. Looking to the spot beside him, it was empty, cold. He knew why he couldn’t sleep. He never could sleep when she wasn’t there with him. It was weird, it didn’t feel right. The trailer felt so lonely and empty without y/n. As annoying as it seemed, he was used to her ending up sleeping on top of him at some point of the night.

He was used to her hogging the blanket because she was cold. He was used to her stealing his shirts because she loved wearing them to bed. Unfortunately, he parents had found out she had been sneaking out of her room to go to his place and they had kept a close watch on her since, and that meant she couldn’t stay at his place for a while. It sucked to say the least. Knowing he wasn’t gonna get any sleep anytime soon, the ebony haired teen unlocked his phone and went to his messages, texting the person that was on his mind.

SP: you awake?

Not even a few seconds later, his phone began vibrating and y/n’s smiling face appeared on his screen. He slid his thumb over the green button and answered, bringing the phone up to his ear. “Hey baby. Can’t sleep either?” He asked, voice husky and low from not having talked for a while. “Nope. I’m so used to sleeping with you in the trailer. My room just feels lonely. I miss you.” Maybe it wasn’t so healthy to be as attached as they were, but Sweet Pea gave not a single fuck. “I miss you too. I’d say to forget your folks’ rules and just come over but I don’t wanna get you into trouble.” He chuckled.

“We’ll see each other in a few hours. Stay on the phone with me until I fall asleep?” She asked, voice soft and melodic. “Yeah, I’m here.”

And so they had remained talked for about another hour until y/n had fallen asleep, Sweet Pea falling asleep shortly after. Even in the morning, the call was still going.

It had happened quicker than he could process. One moment he, Jughead, Toni and FP were ushering Fangs from the police department through crowds of angry people, and the next he was pressing his hands to the gunshot wound in his best friends abdomen. Blood stained his hands, colored his skin red and for once, he was actually completely terrified. Utterly terrified that his best friend was gonna die. Y/n had rushed to the hospital where she met up with Sweet Pea who was still covered in his best friends blood, pacing back and forth in the busy lobby. As soon as she was in sight, his arms were around her, holding her close. The tears he'd been trying to hold in had finally escaped, though nobody else saw because his face had been buried in her neck. "What happened, Sweets?" She asked a bit breathlessly, no doubt from rushing to get to the hospital as quickly as she could. He didn't answer for a few seconds, regaining his composure. "Mantle shot Fangs." He murmured, but it was still loud enough for her to hear him.

"What? Is he okay? What happened? Oh my god, Sweets. Are you okay?" She hadn't meant to throw all those questions at him but one of her friends had been shot, her boyfriends best friend had been shot, she just couldn't believe it. "They don't.. They don't know if he's gonna make it." Sweet Pea's voice cracked, and he finally pulled away to look at her, eyes a little glossy. She reached up and wiped at his eyes. "He's gonna be fine. He's gonna make it." She said with such conviction. Even if she didn't believe it, she had to give him some kind of hope. "Look.. Mantle hurt one of us, he didn't just hurt Fangs, he might've killed him. This.. This isn't something we're gonna let slide. I'm telling you because.. I promised you honesty." Y/N didn't like it. In fact, she hated it. The last thing she wanted was for him to get hurt. But she understood. The Serpents were a family, and one of their family members was intentionally hurt. Hell, if somebody ever hurt Sweet Pea, she'd be out for blood.

"Be careful. Come back to me, Sweet Pea. I love you."

To everyone's relief, Fangs had survived the gunshot. He had made it and Y/N couldn't be any happier. Although, the Southside had been at it's worse, what with the brawl between the Ghoulies and the Serpents, a brawl that had ultimately been lost by the Serpents, they were all together, united and stronger than ever. That included Y/N and Sweet Pea. They stood together, his arms wrapped her, her back and head resting against his chest. Everyone was conversing, drinking, smiling and laughing. Most of them had lost their homes when Sunnyside trailer had been burned down, including Sweet Pea, but they had each other. A black leather jacket was resting comfortably on y/n shoulders, and it didn't belong to Sweet Pea. She and Cheryl had been new additions to the Southside Serpents. It was something that had only served to bring her and Sweet Pea closer together.

Pretty soon everyone had gone off to do their own thing, leaving Sweet Pea and Y/N alone. She had spun around in his arms, her own wrapping around his middle while his traveled down to her jeans where he stuck his hands into her back pockets, playfully squeezing her ass. "Look at you, my serpent queen.." He said, a playful smile on his lips. "I'm being honest, I never wanted you to join the Serpents only because I didn't want you getting sucked into all this.. shit. Look at what happened with the Ghoulies.. But, I'm proud of you. I'm proud of us. You've shown me, and the rest of the Serpents loyalty, love and respect. You've proved your place." The words brought tears to y/n's eyes. Yeah, she saw a side of Sweet Pea that not everybody else saw but he had never been so raw, so honest. One hand cupped his cheek, the pad of her thumb smoothing over his bottom lip.

"We're in this together. Forever, you and me. I love you, Sweet Pea."

"I love you too, princess."

yes, they are the embodiment of gay

okAY well anyways they belong to a whole clan of rainbow puffles that live in a habitat in the sky

itʻs basically just a big clump of clouds that have solidified enough where these small things can live

theyʻre body weight is lighter than youʻd think tho !! to accommodate the fact that they literally live on vapor

from their big ole cloud in the sky, they canʻt do much. puffles are not allowed to go down to the land walkers unless theyʻve been ʻadoptedʻ -- when someone completes their quest.

izzy has always been fascinated with the land walkers. for the most part, puffles canʻt really see what theyʻre doing down there unless theyʻre monitoring quest. which !! is why izzy is in charge of giving quests to those in search of a puffle.

theyʻre one of the older puffles there and they make sure that each puffle finds the right partner for themselves. they specifically tailor the mission to each puffle so that through their quest, the penguin ( or literally anyone lmao ) learns exactly how to best care for their new puffle.

izzy has taken an extra interest in the land walkers since they watched the sky people descend on them. less and less people have taken up quest since theyʻve arrived, and izzy has taken special care to not offer quests to any of the visitors from above, though telling the difference between everyone has been,,,,,difficult.

so !! in order to help the land walkers and continue the tradition of adopting puffles, izzy has decided they needed to see what all the hustle and bustle was about and has begun searching for someone to take on the quest of their own companionship !!

i think the idea of completely some kind of task in order to meet them is funny af so !! come at me if you wanna try and adopt yourself a rainbow puffle.

they will literally latch on to whoever succeeds congrats !! youʻre stuck with them !!

okay so i loaf them but baSICALLY theyʻre a very old dokkaebi who thrives on chaos

they really only exist in order to cause mischief and be general nuisances of the household

in modern times, alistair decided that they were born with just messing around in peopleʻs houses and fucking around with their brooms so !! they latched onto something thatʻs brought down entire families and drove them out of their homes entirely

they somehow started a casino -- donʻt ask me how i havenʻt thought that hard lmao -- thatʻs basically a front for the seedier gang activity that happens within it

on the casino front, itʻs a high-roller place where people have been know to win big, but also where more than a few people have gambled away more than they can chew.

in the background, alistair has become a bit of a middleman for everyone. if thereʻs information anyone wants, they come to alistair. for a pretty penny, they could do most favors for you. find out some intel, introduce you to some people, help you make someone disappear,

the entire casino kind of just fosters this “turning a blind eye” mentality where most things are allowed to slide as long as they donʻt draw too much attention.

alistair doesnʻt really care about the aliens. they never trust anyone anyways. also,,,,,he works with the mob and gangs, theyʻll probably find themselves some protection

but there ya go !! yʻall have a shady casino that yʻall can hang out in for some seedier stuff

RPER Resolutions

Write your RPer Resolutions for 2018! (What are some goals for yourself as a writer? Improve descriptions? Plot with more members? Etc.

I want to do better at describing things and doing more action-based things. I feel like I’ve gotten really bad at that so I want to majorly improve that for sure. Add more detail and that kind of thing. I really really admire people who can do good action based plots or fighting or something like that. I want to be able to do those. I really do. So those are things that I definitely want to improve on. And of course I would love to plot with more people. I’m a tad awkward so it takes me some time to throw myself at people but I really would love that too.

Write at least one resolution, or “goal,” that you have as an RPer for your character(s)

I want to actually have Shego do her job. As a “henchwoman” or as a “thief” let Shego take from your character and get away with it. Let your character be frustrated with whatever was taken. Is it valuable? Sentimental? Even better. I also want to focus a bit more on the financial circumstances of my characters. Maximus and Shego both don’t have a lot of money, and neither of them have stable work right now, so my goal is to explore just what they do when the money gets really tight and stuff. Shit what else? I think I talked about my many goals for Maximus in an ask, but to summarize I want him to be more comfortable with his magic, and to actually be able to joke about it and see where he goes from there. Shego I want to actually do shady shit, and make really cool connections, and I want to honestly explore her backstory a bit and how it’s made her who she is. I want to do more one shots with that because there are still so many things about her, and it’s close to the chest cause she doesn’t share with anyone. She doesn’t trust people. So giving her a person to trust would be cool. As for Wilbur? He’s got his major quest to hunt down the stolen item, but I want him to get into other trouble. I want him to be manipulated by someone shady, or maybe have him jump into a situation he’s not well informed on and majorly fuck up.

Write at least one resolution IN CHARACTER for your characters. What do THEY want to accomplish or change in the New Year?

Shego: “Okay, so I really don’t buy the new year’s resolution thing. I think you should make up your mind to change whenever the fuck you want. But, I suppose my new year’s resolution is to at least not be in an empty bed on next new year’s. I plan on having a good lay for the next one. Oh is that a bad one? Fine, my new year’s resolution is to have a stable job with a sensible boss, so that I can do my job and not have to worry about him fucking up his or her side of things. I deserve a good boss fucking hell.”

Maximus: “I...well I’d like to make up for being gone. I want to show Gabe every day how much I missed him, how much I love him, and how much I want to spend every day with him if I can. Really all I can think about is making right for my past mistakes. I want to do better, and be the person that Gabe seems to think that I am.”

Wilbur: “I feel like I’m doing pretty good with this stuff. Last year I wanted to jump into the lake when it was winter and I did that so go me. This year...uh..let’s see. Plotting Exercise! Pick one of the resolutions/goals in #2 and plan a rough guideline to how you could accomplish it.

Shit okay...so for the one goal with Shego to steal stuff it’d be like

Part 1: Shego seeks out target

Part 2: With mun’s permission, Shego sneaks into place and takes item she wants (in a one shot or if you want your character can get a glimpse of a figure or a green glow idk)

Part 3: item is stolen and your character gets to go to the police or worry over the item and Shego gets to go try to pawn it off somewhere out of town for money.

For Maximus:

Part 1: Maximus connects with another person and gets comfortable being around them/friendship

Part 2: He shifts around said friend and the reaction to that etc.

Part 3: Maximus starts shifting more if said friend reacted well to part 2.

For Wilbur:

Part 1: Wilbur meets shady af character

Part 2: Shady af character convinces Wilbur to do something

Part 3: Wilbur does something hella sketch and gets busted

I don’t actually use any of them... used to use Spotify until it betrayed me by capping me at 10hrs of music a month. like bitch I listen to 10hrs in a day lmao. at the time I couldn’t even afford the small monthly charge so I stopped using it and now my petty ass won’t give them a penny.

2: is your room messy or clean?

clean but cluttered. there’s nothing gross like trash or used plates, but there’s a lot of random stacks of paper, books, notes, etc. it’s alright at the moment seems there’s been a recent tidy, but usually it’s very cluttered.

green! I also have heterochromia, so there’s a thin ring of brown around both irises, and a small slice of brown in one eye.

I just hope you know I appreciated everything you did. I would’ve offered to cover more (of my own will of course; not because I felt like I owed you), but I didn’t want to press. you told me no, I wasn’t going to be annoying about it. I offered to cover gas, you said no. I figured if I kept offering to cover bills you’d keep saying no. I’ve learned to try not to be annoying and argue when someone gives me something, ya know? I just didn’t realize it did feel unbalanced to you. and I do feel bad about it.

it wasn’t that I didn’t want to reciprocate. that was just the rhythm I noticed we’d fallen into, and there were things I wanted to get for my mom and charlotte that I didn’t want you also paying for. it wasn’t things for me; that’s not fair to ask you to pay for it. like I said, you’d been generous enough. I didn’t see it from your perspective, how that might’ve looked. I hope you know that I would’ve covered all of it without hesitation if we’d agreed to split grocery bills. we just never talked about it, and I guess I didn’t press hard enough. that’s on me. it’s an uncomfortable subject.

not to mention… splitting bills is the norm for me. my friends and I don’t do all-or-nothing unless someone’s flat broke. we all take care of our own charges. given that you don’t do that, I can see how you’d interpret me paying for those few things separately as rude. if it were up to me, I’d have paid for all my food the whole trip separately from yours, maybe alternate or something on shared food. that’s just what I’m used to. I don’t see it as being too detail-focused, it’s only fair. counting pennies is a bit much; I wouldn’t be that nitpicky about it. I just didn’t know that you saw that particular thing the way you did, and I never would have guessed that was the issue either, honestly. I was pretty hurt that you just walked away and left me there, and then didn’t tell me what was wrong. I literally had no idea what it was. maybe I’m just not as generous as you are, but also we apparently function on really different levels with respect to that. I didn’t know you had this expectation that I do the same and were waiting for me to step up, but it absolutely would have been fair for me to pay too. even if we’d just alternated covering each store trip and outing; if we’d talked about it I would’ve agreed to that. but it never came up, before I even left you made it sound like you wanted to cover everything, you kept saying “I got it”, I wasn’t going to argue about it.

I absolutely don’t want to take advantage of you, and actually I did feel uncomfortable with how much you spent on me when you didn’t have to. I don’t know that it’s debt between friends, really, especially if I’m just picking up the tab for my own things. I’m serious about covering more costs if you do come to visit; it’s not fair that you did so much and while I appreciate the generosity I just.. don’t feel good about it. I could have stepped up more and I didn’t. friends don’t take advantage of friends. while I hope I didn’t do that, I do want to make it up to you anyway.

soooo uhhh. i don’t really want to think too much about this cuz it doesn’t matter that much lol. in my experience when i’m with friends or family we tend to distribute things evenly. so if my parents take me for dinner one week and pay, i’ll pay next time. or if a friend buys me a drink or something, i’ll get them a drink next time. if we’re out for a long time we’ll get a round each or whatever so it’s fair. i don’t like doing things separately cuz it feels kinda childish to say okay my drink is 2.50 and yours is 3.50 so i’m going to get mine separately cuz i don’t want to get yours. that feels kinda weird to me

i’m honestly not that concerned, i don’t mind buying things. like i said the only time it really stood out is when you waited for me to get my things before you said you’d get your own, cuz at first glance it looked like you just didn’t wanna get my things lol so i was like ohhh i see how it is!!! but yeah i see it from your perspective too, you didn’t want me to buy charlotte’s things cuz they are from you and not from me. so i get it. lol

as for leaving you in the store, the self scan bit gets kinda busy and i felt like i was getting in the way so i went to stand outside. i’m not super clingy and i’m not gonna stand right beside you unless i need to. i could have said i was going to wait outside though, i’m sorry i didn’t

same with household stuff. I didn’t know what the dish situation was. you kept saying “I got it” and going ahead, and I wasn’t going to wrestle the sponge out of your hands. I would have done more, and I should have. we should have been better about communicating on that front. talked about taking turns at least. I’m used to being at home and also living alone; taking care of my things on my time. that’s something we definitely should have talked about on day one, but lesson learned.

i don’t really mind much about this either. it would definitely have been nice if you did the dishes, particularly when i was showering in the morning. from my recollection you would wait in the kitchen while i showered and then i would finish up, come through and have to wash dishes and make breakfast for us. it would have been nice not to have had to have done that cuz it just meant that we had to wait for me to do the dishes. at the other end of the day as well, it would have been nice if you did the dishes while i made dinner but instead i had to do dishes and then make dinner. again i don’t mind but it just meant we spent more time waiting for me to do dishes lol. task parallelization!!!

so. here’s the thing. I had no idea what I was doing wrong. I knew it must’ve been something. but I don’t remember every word I say, or at what point you started getting quiet; what might’ve triggered that. from my perspective it could have been anything. something someone texted you, something from work, or literally anything I said or did. I joke around with other friends in a similar way and they take it in stride (goodness knows there’s enough about them and where they live to rip on; they do the same thing to me. maybe that’s where I picked it up). but I know you’re not them. I just don’t know what hits nerves with you. I’ve also been trying not to take things too personally; when you insisted it was fine I tried to tell myself that maybe it was something someone else might’ve said. for all I knew it could have been.

nothing really hits a nerve with me lol. i think i’m pretty laid back. i love to joke around but a lot of the time your tone told me you weren’t joking around. you seemed so irritated that we drive on the left side of the road lmao. you seemed offended about the corn whatever thing you were talking about that day. you made me feel like an idiot so many times. i shouldn’t be in a restaurant thinkin about corn!!!! i just wanted to chill out and relax

BUT! it’s not my job to tell you how to act. you are who you are and i am who i am. i don’t want to shape you into how i think you should be. just be yourself. if that involves talkin about corn then go for it. just know that i might fall silent for a bit because i don’t really care about corn lol

and, yeah, that is “me being me” in a way, I guess. but it’s not me deliberately doing those things because I want or need to. it’s not an inherent part of my personality, it’s learned behavior. I’d picked up some little things from charlotte over time after being friends with her for so long, but I didn’t even realize it until someone pointed it out. I didn’t like it, so I tried to be more aware of it and be better about it. if you’d told me something I did or said was bothering you, yeah, maybe I’d have felt a little bad, but more than anything because it was something that I’d done that bothered you. not because I want to be some way or another and now can’t because of you. it’s not a hindrance for me. how I act is just how I act, but that doesn’t mean it’s right. maybe it doesn’t bother my friends, but maybe they’re kind of rude too. I try to be self-aware, but it can be hard for me to see things through other people’s eyes. it annoys me sometimes when you make fun of my accent, but I also know you’re just kidding. I kept that in mind; told myself that was how you felt when I said the things you did actually bring up, and I did try to be better about them. you noticed how the road conversation changed entirely, because you told me the jokes bothered you. easy enough. nipped that one in the bud relatively early and it became a non-issue. I think. I tried, anyway.

if there’s any particular way I want to be, it’s ‘not rude or unintentionally mean’. and it hurt me that you continued to let me do what I was doing. I want to know if I’m messing up. that way I can be more self-aware and treat people better.

that way we both could’ve had a better time. after that summer in the lab I worked in, I made a point to tell my future employers to please tell me if I’m doing something wrong so that I’m aware of it and can do better. I didn’t ever want to have to deal with that perspective mismatch again. it’s entirely possible that I was actually being a lazy piece of shit that summer too and just didn’t realize it, but I had no way of knowing. nobody told me what I was doing wrong, and I didn’t think I was doing anything much different than my co-labbers, besides being tasked with much, much more than them. I didn’t know what to think of myself after that, but I did take it pretty hard. I couldn’t believe they’d let me go the whole summer just assuming I knew where I was fucking up. I had zero guidelines and zero experience and didn’t want to be constantly asking for help; I was trying to do the best I could by myself, but it wasn’t good enough and I didn’t know why they were being so passive-aggressive with me the whole time. I just figured they didn’t like me for whatever reason. then at the end of the summer they just let me have it, and that felt so goddamn awful.

i think sometimes the feeling is that things are so obvious that, from an outside perspective, there’s no way you can’t be aware of them. i don’t know though, i don’t know the things you think about

so when you got quiet, and just left me in the store that one time, I didn’t know what to do. you insisted you were fine, and I wasn’t going to badger you about it even though I knew it wasn’t fine. of all the however many things I said or did, how could I know which one it was? how could I know how you saw it? I figured maybe if I just didn’t say anything, then I wouldn’t say anything that upset you.

let’s be clear though it’s not like i abandoned you in a store lol i only went to stand outside to wait for you. that’s all. i wasn’t upset or whatever

on that subject, I don’t know if you noticed, but whenever I got quiet? it was when you did. when I knew something was wrong but you didn’t want to tell me what it was. I figured it must have been something I did, but I had no idea, and it hurt that you didn’t want to tell me. when I asked if you were sick of me or complaining to other people about me… I felt like I was doing something wrong that you didn’t want to tell me about, but you’d complain to other people about it. that made me feel like you were just counting down til I left. like you were just putting up with me til you didn’t have to anymore. venting to other people so you didn’t have to take it out on me. that hurt too. if anything put a damper on my trip, it was that.

now retrospectively I feel awful, because it just went on the whole time and I didn’t realize what I did. and apparently it was a whole hell of a lot, and probably even more than you’ve told me even to this point, which feels even worse. I don’t want to be like that. I don’t want to be rude or hurtful. and the things I said.. I didn’t even realize they were coming across that way because things like that haven’t bothered any of my other friends, that I know of.

the mug thing… I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. I was looking for a measuring cup for one cups’ worth of rice, and a mug isn’t a good measure bc there’s no markings. and it’s got at least 2 cups’ worth of volume, depending on the mug, but there’s no way to know by looking at it. from what you said, I thought you’d thought a mug was the same volume as a cup, but maybe it was different there and I just didn’t know. okay from my perspective i was washing the dishes (ofc lmao) and you were like oh i don’t have a cup. i was trying to be helpful and told you that you could use a cup from the cupboard. i’ve done a lot of cooking/baking, especially in the last few years, and whenever a recipe has asked for a cup i’ve just used a literal cup and everything i’ve made has turned out great. so i thought i’d toss it out there to be helpful. your reaction made me feel like an idiot especially when you said “FIRST OF ALL, that’s a MUG!” and then you started pulling up wikipedia articles. that’s why i snapped and said “can we just make dinner?” - i know i said it in an irritated tone and i’m sorry for that. it was a long day of driving, i was hungry, and i didn’t want to be talking about the nuances of mugs/cups/whatever the hell. as always i wanted to relax and chill out

and yeah, ya know, I was only there for a little over a week. you did only have to put up with me for that long (and there’s no talking around it; you just letting it happen because I was leaving soon is textbook “putting up with it”). but we still talk over text. we’ll probably still skype. you still want to visit over here, as far as I know. you’d still have to deal with me being like that, and I’d still keep going not knowing I was doing anything wrong. it would just get worse and worse til it reached a breaking point. I don’t want that. I don’t think you do either. could be a politeness thing that I’m just not used to, but I don’t see it as rude at all if you ask me not to do something that bothers you. it’s not changing me. or maybe it is, but the thing is.. I want to change if it’s for the better.

it’s not my role to tell you to stop doing things. who am i, God? if i don’t like something someone is doing then i interact with them less. i think that’s human nature. you already said that your friends don’t mind when you make fun of them or whatever. who am i to change that? not only that but i don’t want to expend mental energy by constantly telling you what offends me. that’s honestly not how i want to spend my time. i had a chunk of time off work and i wanted to relax, i didn’t want to spend it telling you to do dishes lmao.

I want to know if something’s wrong, and I want to know ASAP so we’re not just sitting around not talking and not resolving something that’s clearly a problem. you want a girlfriend and eventually a wife one day, you’re gonna have this same issue with her. maybe you see this as a different situation, what with me being a friend and also you not actually having to be around me much. but then, like… if it is different, if you were to tell me “oh, no, I’d never be like that with a girlfriend”… I’d have to ask why I didn’t deserve to be treated like that too. friends or more than that, you’re gonna need to start communicating more.

i think people have different natures. my nature is to be helpful and generous where possible. if we’re at a restaurant and the check comes, i cannot insert that “i want to pay for this” thought into your head. you either have it or you don’t. when i’m out with people, i love doing things like that. i like to make people happy. it’s not about the money, it’s about the gesture. i want people to feel loved and special. no one has ever had to remind me to do my part or do my fair share. it’s just who i am, it’s really that simple. i’m not gonna come to you and say you should be paying for things. that’s petty and pathetic. if you don’t want to, then don’t.

i’m extremely picky with women. i don’t want to date someone and shape them into who i want them to be. i want to meet her and love her just as she is. she’s kind and generous. i know this is possible because it has happened before. it can happen again. i don’t have to shape women. there are plenty of women out there who are just what i’m looking for.

I know I need to work on that too. it’s really, really important. like. not saying anything about something that bothers you and then redirecting entirely or changing the subject it is extremely avoidant and it doesn’t fix anything. I understand it’s a defense mechanism but sometimes you gotta play offense a little bit too.

also, good god. you would’ve been complaining the whole time? how much was I really bugging you? the things I said, the housework, every little thing… and you didn’t tell me about any of it until just earlier, and then followed that up with “but I wasn’t going to tell you”, like. that doesn’t help. that makes me feel even worse. I literally don’t understand how letting someone stay unaware of something they’re doing wrong is at all helpful. I’m not trying to make you feel bad for making me feel bad, but like. I hate feeling like you’re just putting up with me. I can’t imagine why you would, then, if you’d just be annoyed with everything I did and said. I mean, I can think of one reason why you’d still put up with all of that, but that thought makes me want to throw up. you wanted me to be comfortable and enjoy my time there, but how could I really feel all that good when you wouldn’t talk to me or tell me what was wrong when something was obviously wrong? it kept ending up being something every day, and then me not knowing what it was or what to do about it, and it just felt bad. there wasn’t anything I could do because you straight-up refused to admit there was an issue. you just assumed I knew what I did and then intentionally continued to do those things. like, why would I want to, if I knew it bothered you? I really want to know what kind of person you see me as sometimes.

you’ve complained to me a billion times about how you hate it when your mum tells you off for leaving dishes in the sink. i figured, you’re on holiday, i’m not gonna complain about you not doing dishes. i wanted you to have a good time while you were here.

our personalities clash. we’re totally different people. i felt, at points, you would suck me into debates or arguments. i detected this overwhelming need for you to be right all the time or, more importantly, for me to be wrong. if i don’t tell you something it’s because i don’t want to start drama. as always, i want to chill out. this was my holiday too.

I’m also a little concerned that, like… you told me that one night I didn’t do anything wrong when I asked, but I did. you told me you liked shows we watched when you didn’t. you kept telling me you were fine when you weren’t. maybe they seem like little white lies just to keep me comfortable, but I wasn’t comfortable. I had my doubts, and with some of them I was right. the show thing was more of a slap in the face; I thought you actually did like them. now I have to wonder if you meant it when you said you weren’t complaining about me, or just waiting for me to leave, or whatever else. how can I trust you mean what you say? that the answer you’re giving me isn’t just the one you think I want to hear? I don’t want to be kept comfortable. if something’s wrong, something’s wrong. the truth can hurt sometimes, but I’d rather have the truth. it hurts me more to feel like you don’t trust me with it. maybe I come across as rude by letting you know when I don’t like something, but I value honesty above comfort. that’s something that’s not changing.

it’s a very human thing to do this though. i want to bond and connect with other people. i’m not gonna tell them i don’t like their tv shows. it’s jarring when people tell the truth all the time. it does come across as rude when you let me know you don’t like something. it’s depressing. i want to be an upbeat, positive person. not blowing sunshine out my ass, but still. just a happy person. when i talk to you and it’s all complaints and stuff you don’t like, i don’t feel very happy.

on another note, I am sorry if it seemed like I was unappreciative. I’m not terribly expressive with much of anyone, but I also don’t really know how to be. I really did enjoy everything, and I’m grateful for you being so generous and kind. I would like to go back one of these days; do more that we didn’t get a chance to do. I was trying to think back on my other trips while I was driving, and I remembered that I did enjoy all of them, but only to an extent. being with family really took away from them, and I know I would’ve enjoyed them a lot more if I’d been on my own or with friends. this was definitely a favorite trip, if not the favorite. certainly one of the best mood-wise for me.
