#LOKI IS SHOWING HIS EMOTIONS IN FRONT OF THE TEAM

All or Nothing: Noel Noa (ft. Jinpachi Ego)
(note that this analysis contains heavy spoilers for Noa's motives in my Big little dramas fic)
What I really like about Noa is that his character, with his questionable coaching decisions and personality... Actually very evidently grows from his backstory.
We only know a few things for sure about Noa's background before Blue Lock: he grew up in the slums of Paris, where he invested all of himself to get out of that hole, he's ex-boyfriend rival of Jinpachi Ego, with whom they diverge in their ideologies and approaches to the striker's game, and he's the idol of little (and adult) Isagi Yoichi due to the fact that he plays rough and focuses on his success rather than his teammates.
On top of that, we also know that Noa was probably forced into Blue Lock. Most likely, the club management put him in front of the fact that you was specifically requested by your ex rival, so go and shine with your face on a TV show. Oh, and bring along our resident bouquet of personality disorders, code-named kainess. Noa certainly doesn't want to show off for the camera like Lavinho or Chris, doesn't want to raise the next generation of players to avoid his mistakes like Snuffy, and certainly isn't looking for friends/good play/rivals like Loki (who only came to the top 5 to evaluate the level of Blue Lock players according to his own words). Even if he'd wanted to see the sprouts of Ego's theory I doubt that he will apply for the participating in Blue Lock voluntary.
Tumblr media
Because Noa doesn't really care. This whole mess is just out of his field of interest. Outside of the games we only see him sitting in his room staring endlessly at screens and drinking coffee.
But it's from this that we see that Noa, despite his very... die-or-die method of building a game on the field, is a responsible player and coach. He may not want to mess around with kids in front of the world, but if he took the job, he'll do it. But he will do it exactly the way he demands of himself - no more, no less. Noa is neither cruel nor kind - he doesn't go beyond what his contract asks of him and his principles.
Slightly off-topic, I'd say that's the exact difference between Noa and Ego. No one would accuse Noa of conscious cruelty: he acts within his system, which he has explained to the children in advance, and if they fail it is only their fault for failing to adjust to it. He is simply doing his job - nothing more, nothing less.
Ego, in his turn? He chooses to be cruel even in the system he have built himself. Not because it somehow motivates the children, but because he can. And in doing so, Ego doesn't hate them - he probably doesn't care about any of them. He hates in them a part of the player he once was - the player who lost either to Noel Noa or the entire football world. If not to the both at once.
But even so, it seems odd for the manga to highlight their rivalry. It's not that only very few people have different ways of dealing with children. A lot of people are losing ugly to each other.
But this work with kids is the main root of their rivalry. Because the basics of their motto, their starting point of football, the way they guide children to the game are diametrically opposed.
Because the key point of Ego theory is that the striker is created by a moment of chaos. A moment that cannot be directed - that can only be pushed towards.
Except that for Noa a player hoping for a miracle and not knowing something is nothing. He will never allow that in his team - his whole game, his team and his life is one big formula with coefficients chosen once, like a neural network.
Tumblr media
Both of them live as a part of the all-or-nothing game. Except that while Ego plays this game with emotion and involvement, Noa approaches it as logically as possible.
And only Isagi Yoichi can resolve this decades-long conflict.
Now let's go back to Noa's game, to understand why logic is that important to Noa and the player's emotions are insignificant and even get in the way.
Remember exactly how he plays on the pitch. He never comes out to play first like other master strikers. He chooses the midfield position to support the player of his choice - he doesn't steal their shine in the center of attack. He only scores a goal once too, in the first match - the rest of the time he blocks other master strikers in an effort to ensure the kids can play fair.
And that's probably why he openly mocks both Lavinho and Chris with his dry jokes about narcissists and "kids without the proper adult". But he's especially harsh on Snuffy, angrily mocking him for being bitten by "his own dog", bringing back the "don't make my job harder than it needs to be" line. But why does Snuffy deserve this treatment (not taking into account the way Snuffy himself ridicules Noa)?
Because Noa is disgusted with his approach to teaching.
In fact, it's their approaches in the Blue Lock cut that are most opposed, and yet turned on to the max. While Snuffy has gone so far as to give each player an individual program and plan in his strategies, Noa has let things slide, making his stratum a mini version of the Hunger Games. Noa is angry that Snuffy babysits his kids; he's angry at how involved he is in their lives, how Snuffy swirls around them, and how Snuffy is always there to help and support them.
Because Noa is a "give a hungry man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach him to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime" kind of guy. Except that he won't even teach them voluntarily. Players need to get the right advice from him themselves while framing the question correctly.
Noa's policy is non-interference.
Because he knows from experience that it's the only way kids grow up strong. From his own experience.
And to fully dive in, let's remember another moment from the manga that characterizes Noa the most. His advice to Isagi.
Tumblr media
"Dedicate every hour, moment, second of your life to a goal. Don't think irrationally. Get your thoughts in order. I don't pick irrational people for the team. Dedicate your whole self to the goal."
Pretty cool, huh? Blossoms with potential burnout, a life on automatic, and a complete loss of feeling.
You know what I'm getting at? That's exactly the lifestyle Noa lives with. And he doesn't see anything wrong with advising Isagi to do it. He doesn't get annoyed by people's taunts about him being a machine and incapable of feeling. That's probably what he wanted.
Tumblr media
Because Noa himself grew up completely dedicated to a goal, switching off all his feelings and without mentorship, and it made him who he is now. And it's rational for him to follow the same path with his kids.
Because feelings are illogical. They're weird, they're scary, they're very hard to predict. They're exhausting, they make you turn back to the past and wait for the future with hopes that may not be fulfilled later. They take your strength, they hurt and they wound very sharply. They make you weak, they make you vulnerable - they make you a helpless child.
Living without them is so much easier.
(If you remember my analysis on Isagi, you can see how similar he and Noa are.)
In psychology this mode is called "detached protector". Its essence is that the child or adult turns off all their feelings to avoid punishment and focus on survival.
They switch off all emotions. They cut off all emotional ties with loved ones, family and friends, seeing them more as objects. They can only work endlessly.
They function like a robot.
This mode is triggered when a person cuts off all their emotional needs, like an automaton focusing on one single goal.
In Noa's case? His survival. And that's exactly what Ego is talking about - that young Noa, obviously emotionally deprived, put all of himself into football because he had nothing else but it.
Tumblr media
And judging by Noa today, having cut off those needs as a child, he doesn't see the point in experiencing them again. Noa doesn't smile, he doesn't get upset or frustrated. He doesn't get angry or regretful. Of course, mentally stable people can express their emotions weakly too - and even on a level like Noa.
But we're in a football manga. Football is all about emotion.
And the fact that Noa doesn't visually show the joy or at least the satisfaction of a goal or a victory - of the life that little Noa once strived so hard to live, investing all of himself - is just awful.
Of course, Noa has feelings, just like any other person. After all, he is a living being. Except they're either quite faint (because strong emotions = danger and weakness), or he crushes them as soon as he feels them coming on.
Noa's whole life is an endless race to stay where he is.
Because Noa has learned to survive. Of course, he did.
But Noa didn't learn how to live.

Out Of The Darkness, Chapter 13
Tumblr media
Loki and Grace held hands as they walked down the main street in the city centre, it was bustling with people and Loki was super on edge.
Grace had her headphones on with music playing, she just gripped Loki’s hand tightly as they had their stroll through the city towards the park.
The rest of the team were nearby, undercover and all had comms on.
‘Any sign yet?’ Natasha asked as she sat on a bench in the park, Loki and Grace walked by her and stopped to watch the ducks in the lake.
‘Not yet.’ Steve replied, he was jogging around the lake.
Loki was super tense, but managed not to show it. Acting like they were just having a nice day out at the park as he pulled some seed out of his pocket to throw for the ducks.
‘Gracie… Is that really you?’ Came a voice from behind Loki and Grace.
Loki looked round and felt his blood boil as he was finally face to face with the man that had destroyed Grace’s life.
‘He’s here!’ Natasha said to the others, so they could get into place.
Loki glared at Kilgrave and tugged Grace away, she hadn’t heard him because of the headphones. But Kilgrave followed them quickly.
‘Let go of her.’ He demanded, but Loki smirked when his command didn’t work on him. But this enraged Kilgrave, yet he panicked at the same time.
‘I SAID LET HER GO!’ His anger was quickly flaring and he ran forward, reaching out to grab Grace. But as he went to grab her arm, Grace simply vanished on front of his eyes, making him back away.
Kilgrave’s eyes widened even more when Loki turned, a look of pure rage on his face as a dagger formed in his hand and he began striding purposefully towards Kilgrave.
‘Loki, don’t!’ Natasha said through the comms, just as Wanda landed next to Kilgrave and put her fingers to his temple, causing him to pass out instantly. Tony and Steve quickly tied him up and then carried him off to the nearby van that was waiting.
‘I almost had him!’ Loki snarled at the team.
‘Killing him isn’t the way, Loki.’ Clint said firmly.
Loki was so angry, he didn’t even travel back with the team, he was super annoyed that they stopped him. He could’ve ended everything right there and then. But they were so adamant on capturing him.
When Loki returned to base, he found Grace in her garden. She had her headphones on, music full blast that he could even hear it when he approached her. She was busying herself with pruning some roses.
She saw the usual green sparkles come into her line of sight, she turned to Loki and he could see the nervousness in her eyes. She hesitated before taking off her headphones.
‘Did… did you guys find him?’ Her voice was unsteady.
Loki nodded and reached out to rub her upper arm. ‘We did… He’s been captured.’
A big range of emotions hit Grace. Relief, that he wasn’t out there anymore hurting people... Yet absolute fear that he was now in the building, closer than ever to her. Just one mistake from the right person and he could get to her again.
‘Thank you… for not making me go. I just, I just can’t face him again.’ Her voice was shaky.
Loki opened his arms and stepped closer, she moved forward into his embrace and pressed her face into his chest.
‘I’d never make you do anything you don’t want to. And I certainly would never put you in danger like that, there was no way I was letting you do that, even if you had wanted to.’ Loki whispered and kissed the top of her head.
‘What happens now?’ She asked quietly, raising her head up.
Loki smiled softly down at her as he brushed her hair back from her face, then he stroked her cheek with the back of his hand. ‘I’m not sure, petal. But whatever happens, I give you my word, I will keep you safe. He will not hurt you again.’
‘I know, thank you.’ She managed a small smile.
Loki leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips.
‘Can you give me another lesson with training my mind?’ She asked after he just held her for a few minutes, gently stroking her back.
‘Of course, if that’s what you want.’
‘Yeah, please. I really feel like I can nail it… I need to.’ Grace said determinedly.
‘Alright, after dinner we can do some more training.’ Loki promised.
-
‘That felt too easy.’ Vision said as the team watched Kilgrave in the cell, they had the communication blocked off so he couldn’t hear what they were saying.
‘I don’t think so.’ Natasha piped up. ‘Grace is his one weakness, and when you can control people with just your words, you wouldn’t be worried about much. But he didn’t bargain on Loki not being affected by him. I could see the confusion on his face when he tried telling Loki to let her go.’
‘What do we do now?’ Clint asked, he was feeling really uneasy having Kilgrave in the base.
‘We kill him.’ Came Loki’s voice from the doorway, the others hadn’t heard him come in.
Daggers formed in his hands and he began stalking towards the cell. The team tried to stop him, but Loki was just in a pure rage. The team ran towards him, but he had been using illusions so managed to dodge them. He easily shoved some of them out of the way too, blasted into the walls.
Kilgrave was watching in amusement from his cell, eyeing up Loki closely. When Loki had knocked Natasha out of the way, he’d knocked her into the control console and she knocked the button that allowed communication between inside and outside the cell. But his powers were still blocked because of the way they’d built the cell.
But just as Loki was a few feet from opening the cell door to get Kilgrave, there was one voice that stopped him.
The only one that could.
‘Loki! Don’t!’
Loki paused, then slowly turned around. Grace had stopped near the door, seeing Kilgrave was almost too much. But she had to stop Loki from doing this. She made her way towards Loki, looking at him only.
‘Don’t do this. Please.’ Her voice quivered.
‘After everything he did to you, I need to end him.’ Loki growled.
‘Please, don’t. I don’t want you to kill someone in cold blood, not for me. This can’t be on you. I know he’s a monster and he doesn’t deserve to even be on this earth, but don’t do it… Please.’ Grace reached out and put her hand on his arm.
Loki’s grip on his daggers loosened slightly, his jaw clenched though as he let out a sigh. He wouldn’t do it if she didn’t want him to. He knew deep down she was right, killing someone wasn’t right, not in this way. Even though many people would agree that Kilgrave didn’t deserve to live.
The team had recovered and were shocked that Grace had been able to stop Loki on his rampage.
Loki’s daggers vanished and he linked hands with Grace, stepping away from the cell.
Slow, deliberate claps echoed around the room. Loki slowly turned his head towards Kilgrave, his eyes blazing.
‘Oh, wow, what a lovely scene.’ Kilgrave mocked and leaned against the front of the cell, looking directly at Grace. ‘It may seem like you two are in love.’ He made a repulsed face. ‘But we both know that you are mine, Gracie. No one can take you from me. As soon as I am out of this cell, and don’t worry, I will get out of here… You will be mine again. And this… God will be the last thing on your mind.’
Grace tried to control her emotions, to stop her eyes from welling up. Steve quickly pushed the button to cut contact with Kilgrave.
Before Loki could comfort Grace, she rushed on out of the room before she lost it completely. Loki glared at the rest of the team as he stormed towards the door.
‘I hope you’re all happy with yourselves, having him here is the worst thing for her. One of you better do what’s right, there is nothing else for him but death.’ Loki snapped at them before disappearing after Grace.
Clint ran a hand down his face. ‘I… I think he’s right, you know. Kilgrave is too dangerous to mess with, there’s no way we would be able to control him safely. And wouldn’t that make us as bad as him? Trying to use someone as a weapon?’
The team looked between one another, but Tony shook his head. ‘I think we can do it. We know his powers doesn’t work on Loki, so I’d assume they wouldn’t work on Thor either and I doubt it will work on Wanda.’
‘They are not biological brothers though, remember.’ Vision said.
‘That’s true. Loki is a Jotun, not an Asgardian.’ Thor said.
‘And what if it works on Bruce? He could control The Hulk and that would be a huge disaster.’ Clint argued.
‘Well, we make sure we don’t even attempt him out in the open with Bruce nearby… No offence, Bruce.’ Tony said.
Bruce just shrugged. ‘Clint is right though, we need to be extremely careful.’
Kilgrave just continued to smirk as he watched the team conversing, occasionally looking in his direction with concern on their faces.

Chapter 11 Final
Horses were waiting for you at the edge of the Bifrost bridge. Immediately you could tell that Yrsa wasn’t there. The realization, though not entirely unexpected, made you a little sad. You had hoped to give her one last goodbye before leaving Asgard, knowing that you’d probably never see her again.
Despite continuing to insist that he didn’t read your mind, Loki seemed to pick up on exactly what you were thinking. Coming to stand behind you, he placed a subtle hand on your back, giving it a quick and touchingly comforting rub.
“Look at it this way,” the god murmured, leaning in. “She’s probably taking a massive nap right now.”
The sudden and very random thought made you burst out laughing. Loki grinned, pleased with himself.
“I’m being serious! Have you ever seen a horse sleep? When they really get into it, they lay on their sides like a corpse. It’s quite a sight to behold…”
You felt the last of your sadness drain away -- alarmingly fast, and without much more than a silly joke from the god, you couldn’t help but note -- and you bumped your head against Loki’s shoulder in wordless thanks. He reached around to squeeze your arm before letting go, and you found yourself feeling honored by the open display of affection.
You knew that he wasn’t always the most transparent person, especially when he felt the need to keep up appearances. Which was…. always, it seemed. But for some reason, he’d let you see a part of him that he didn’t openly show, and you were grateful. And right now, you were grateful that he felt strongly enough to risk someone else seeing the strange little relationship you’d formed over the past couple of days. To risk someone -- his brother or Bruce, even -- seeing that side of him, all for your sake, because you’d been a little sad.
It was… sweet. And it was unmistakably Loki. You realized, as you looked up into his warmly smiling face, that this kindness was not a fluke -- it wasn’t an outlier or an odd variable, it was him. It was a part of his essence that he’d never been allowed to show people. Or maybe it was a part of him that he hadn’t felt was right to lay bare in front of others, for them to judge and pick apart.
That overwhelming feeling of honor swelled inside your chest because he’d shown it to you. You couldn’t begin to guess why, but he had.
“Thank you, Loki,” you found yourself whispering. Confusion darkened his features as he tilted his head at you.
“Whatever for?” He asked, forcing a smile to cover those emotions he’d like to avoid thinking about.
“Just… I don’t know,” you shrugged. “For everything, I guess.”
Loki stared down at you for a moment, and you could see the struggle flitting through his eyes. The struggle of accepting thanks for something that he didn’t feel was worthy of it. You could see it so plainly in those crystal blues and greens.
“I… feel you should perhaps be more specific, Little Mouse. I’ve done quite a lot that is not worthy of your thanks.”
“Yeah,” you persisted. “But you’ve done a lot that is.”
Opening his mouth, he furrowed his brow worriedly. But if he’d planned on saying anything, he didn’t get the chance.
“Come on, brother,” Thor pointedly called back, having already reached the horses. “We don’t want to keep Heimdall waiting.”
Loki rolled his eyes at the other god’s tone, and you could tell he was biting his tongue. With an amused smile, you bumped your hip against his before following after the others. Loki scrambled after you and, glancing back, you could see that same gleam in his eyes as when he’d thrown you over his shoulder in the hot springs. You got the idea that you were lucky Bruce and Thor were around, otherwise, the god would likely have tackled you.
Wiggling your eyebrows at him, he narrowed his own eyes with a devilish smirk.
“Behave yourself,” you muttered under your breath the moment he caught up.
“Funny,” his sultry voice replied. “I was going to say the same thing.”
“Come on, Banner!” Thor’s voice broke through your soft bickering. Both of you turned to see the god trying to help a very unsteady Bruce onto his horse. “You’ve done this how many times already?”
“Too many,” Bruce adamantly replied, yelping as his foot slipped from the stirrup. But Thor was there to grab him around the waist… and reach between his legs in an attempt to push them over the saddle.
“Hey! Woah, woah -- get your --”
“Just get up there, it’s not that difficult,” Thor grunted.
“Unbelievable,” Loki muttered, rubbing his forehead.
You chuckled, then spun around to find yourself staring directly into his chest.
“Shall we show them how it’s done?”
“Not if you plan on doing it like that,” you struggled not to laugh as Thor accidentally grabbed Bruce’s ass trying to help him up. The scientist nearly jumped out of his skin, smacking the god’s hand away before catching himself from falling off the other side of the saddle.
“Please, you insult me,” Loki insisted with a smirk. “I am much smoother than my brother. Besides, if I’m going to touch someone like that, I make sure they enjoy it.”
You rolled your eyes so hard they nearly fell out of your skull.
“Oh my God.”
“Yes?” Loki purred, and you elbowed him in the side.
“You’re the worst, you know that?”
“Well, I wouldn’t have thought so, with all the lovely compliments you give me.” He grinned at the annoyed look on your face, which of course was just for show.
“Just… help me up here, would you?” You huffed, trying not to let your already fragile facade crack.
“If you insist,” Loki drawled, ever the tease.
But still, when he knelt down to give you a leg, there was nothing but earnest and genuine pleasure in his eyes. It nearly stole your breath away, and you found yourself thinking it would have been easier to deal with if he’d grabbed your ass instead. Not that you wanted him to grab your ass -- you just…
Oh, for fuck’s sake.
Shaking your head, you placed your foot into his hand.
“One, two, three,” he hoisted you up, and you swung your other leg over the saddle, unable to stop a smile at how much more graceful that had been compared to the first time.
“Good?” Loki asked as you got settled. Picking up your reins, you nodded down at him.
“Thanks.”
“Anytime, darling,” he replied, giving your horse a quick pat before making his way over to his mount.
By that point, Bruce was securely on his horse, bag swung over his shoulder, gripping the strap with white knuckles. Thor, too, had mounted, and it seemed everyone was ready to go. You turned around, giving one last look at Asgard. You were going to miss this place. You were going to miss a lot about this weekend.
“Off we go,” Thor cheerily announced, urging his horse forward.
Loki gave you an impish look, cocking his eyebrow in a sort of challenge. Within the matter of a second, both of you knew exactly what the other was thinking. You raised your own eyebrow and, on the count of three, both of you took off.
It should have been alarming, how in-tune you were with each other, but you couldn’t be bothered to care, too focused on the race Loki had obviously just challenged you to. The wind whipped past your face and the colors of the Bifrost were a single streak beneath your horse’s thundering hooves.
Glancing a look next to you, Loki’s horse was neck in neck. He flashed you a grin, then leaned forward as his horse sped up, causing you to curse under your breath and urge your own horse faster. Seeming to understand the situation perfectly, your mount lengthened its stride.
It took you both only a matter of seconds to leave Thor and Bruce in the dust. You could only imagine what they were thinking, the idea making you laugh breathlessly as you caught up to Loki. He looked over at you, and his face set in gleeful determination.
You were so close.
But he was the more experienced horseman by a long run, and you hadn’t stood a chance. Even so, he only beat you by a few seconds -- though all it took were those few seconds to turn him into a gloating child.
Patting his horse triumphantly, he swung himself out of the saddle and headed straight for you just as you were reigning your horse back.
“Just accept it, you can’t beat me, darling,” he grinned.
“It’s an unfair competition, you’ve got an unnatural amount of experience on me.”
“I never pegged you for a sore loser,” his grin widened as he helped you down from the saddle. This time, you didn’t fall over. Of course, Loki had to comment on it.
“Ooo, you’re getting better at that.”
“Knock it off, you jackass,” you replied, laughing as you shoved him lightly in the chest. He hooked his arms around your middle, resting them lightly on your hips.
“And a name-caller,” Loki feigned a gasp. “But I already knew that.”
“There are not enough words in the world to describe you, Mr. Mischief.”
“Oh really,” he raised his eyebrows. “Mouse, are you saying I’m indescribable.”
“Unbelievable,” you threw up your hands. They wound up on Loki’s shoulders.
“That too? My dear, you’re far too kind.”
You opened your mouth in a silent gasp, grinning in disbelief at the god standing before you.
“Have I mentioned that you’re a dork?”
“Oh, once or twice,” Loki replied, smiling beautifully. His cheeks were flushed with the excitement of the race -- and nothing else, you told yourself -- and he looked… happy. Truly happy. You loved it.
“What the Hel were you two running from?” Thor asked, pulling his horse back until it slid to a quick stop, spinning on its haunches.
“Just having a little fun, brother,” Loki replied, having let go of you already.
But his face didn’t wear that mask that it usually did. You wondered if Thor noticed, too. You would have looked, but you couldn’t tear your eyes away from Loki’s pleased, relaxed expression. He was beautiful like this.
Well, he was beautiful all the time, but especially like this.
It was only when Bruce arrived, bringing up the rear, of course, that you pried your eyes off of Loki. Ironically, you felt the weight of his eyes turn towards you.
“Geez, kid,” the scientist panted as Thor helped him off of his horse. “You’re crazy.”
You smiled back at him, thinking: if only he knew.
***
“You’re late,” were the first words out of Heimdall’s mouth. He walked towards the four of you, giant sword in hand, looking not unlike a parent catching their group of teenagers trying to sneak through the front door after curfew.
“Yes, apologies, Heimdall,” Thor politely replied while trying to ignore the look Loki was giving him. “We got a little… held up.”
“I know,” the other man easily replied. Then, turning to you and Bruce, he asked, “How was your stay in Asgard?”
“Good,” Bruce nodded. “Very good, uh… thank you for your hospitality.”
Heimdall gave him a nod of acknowledgment, but he was staring at you.
“Uhm, it was really great, thank you,” you shyly spoke up, realizing he’d been waiting for your answer.
You played nervously with your hands and Loki bumped your leg with the side of his knee. When you looked up at him, he was smiling kindly -- and perhaps a little approvingly. You smiled back.
“Well then,” Heimdall was saying. “Let’s get you on your way.”
Returning to the center of the dome, he stepped up onto the platform and gestured for you to take your places. Thankfully, Thor knew what he meant because you sure didn’t. You followed the god forward as he led you around to the part of the dome that faced away from the bridge.
Loki was close on your heels, and you felt amusement, as well as a little embarrassment, swell inside you at the thought of what had happened when you’d first gotten to Asgard. It felt like years ago, even though it had only been a few days, and yet, so much had changed. Where you had once been wary of the God of Mischief, his presence now came as a great comfort.
As if reading your mind -- you really wished he’d tell you how he kept doing that -- Loki leaned over your shoulder as you stopped behind Bruce.
“Should I expect you to hold onto me this time as well?”
You snorted, which turned into a giggle and craned your head around to look at him.
“I don’t know. Depends on where you're standing, I guess.”
“Oh, don’t worry,” he replied, straightening up to rest his chin on the top of your head. “I won’t be going anywhere.”
He stepped back only enough to prevent raising suspicion, and Heimdall called something to Thor that you couldn’t make out. Your hearing had funneled as you began to realize that you’d be going through the Bifrost transporter again. The first time had been worrying because you hadn’t known what was about to happen. This time, however, you knew exactly what to expect -- and that wasn’t necessarily a good thing. You felt the adrenaline begin to seep through your body, heart rate picking up in your chest.
You definitely weren’t ready for this.
“Ready when you are, Heimdall,” Thor called, and you almost laughed at the irony.
Instead, you cursed under your breath. Bruce noticed and reached over to give your wrist an encouraging squeeze.
“You’ll be fine,” he nodded, and you returned it with a wobbly but thankful smile.
Taking a deep breath, you let it out slowly. This was really quite ridiculous, being so nervous to do something you’d already done, but you couldn’t help it. It was like getting on a scary celestial roller coaster.
“Alright, here we go,” Heimdall called, the loud metallic clank of his sword sliding into the floor like a key ringing out through the dome.
“Beam me up, Scotty,” you muttered, bracing yourself for the sudden rush of energy.
Bruce let out a rumbling laugh that paired nicely with Loki’s groan of distaste.
“Oh, I know, that’s from one of those moving pictures, isn’t it?” Thor interjected, pointing to you. “Uh, St-- Star Wars!”
You exploded with laughter, followed by a groan that rivaled even Loki’s.
“Oh nooo,” you drew out the word, tears now threatening to fall as you double over in giggles that you were definitely chalking up to your nerves. Bruce put a hand on your back, but you couldn’t tell if it was in support or for support; he was laughing just as hard as you were.
“Don’t be ridiculous, brother,” Loki scowled. “It’s Star Trek.”
“Wait,” you bolted upright. “How the fuck do you know what--”
“Heimdall!” Loki bellowed, and the four of you were being sucked into the transporter.
As you’d expected, the second time through wasn’t any easier than the first. You felt like you were being sucked into a vacuum, swirled around with a bunch of lint and dust, and then thrown back out with your insides rearranged.
It was quite an experience.
The only difference was that this time when you reached out, someone was reaching out for you, too. You felt Loki’s arms wrap around your middle, and instead of you clinging to his cape like a little barnacle, the god pulled you against his chest. And then the only thing you could think about while you waited for the transporter to finish its rinse cycle, or whatever, was that this was technically your second hug with Loki.
Why did you either have to be drunk or getting spit out by the rainbow bridge to get a nice hug with the man? You would have laughed at the thought if you weren’t in the process of having your atoms reassembled. But the process only lasted a few moments and soon enough there was solid ground beneath your feet. You would have fallen over if it wasn’t for Loki’s grip around your middle.
He held you until you managed to get your feet under you -- which took considerably less time than before -- and then immediately let go. He was still so careful around the others, still so hidden from them. You couldn’t blame him of course, it just made you sad.
You took a deep breath, smoothing the front of your clothes off, and gave Loki a wide grin.
“You know what Star Trek is,” you pointed a finger at him and he groaned.
“Really?”
“Oh my God, how have you never told me this?”
“It never came up,” he raised his shoulders defensively.
“I thought I knew you. I thought we were friends.” You shook your head, playing up the betrayal for a moment before you burst out laughing.
Loki shot you a scowl, but he couldn’t keep up the act for long, either, laughing unsteadily as you tried to wrap your head around the fact that Loki of Asgard, the God of Mischief, knew what fucking Star Trek was.
“God,” you sighed between giggles. “I love you.”
Loki’s laughter died away on the breeze and he stared down at you like he’d suddenly stopped working.
“You…. what--”
“Yeesh!” Bruce interrupted. “I will never get used to that. You alright kiddo?” He laid a hand on your shoulder, seeming to not have noticed that he’d interrupted anything.
“Oh, uh, I’m fine. Totally fine,” you replied, giving him a shaky smile. “All good here…. What about you, old man? Are you alright?” Bruce looked a bit unsteady on his feet, and he was gripping your arm with perhaps a little more than friendly support.
“I’m good, just… need to catch my breath.” his face tilted into a shy smile.
“Ah, come on, Banner,” Thor suddenly dropped a hand onto his shoulder, nearly pushing the man over. “You did great.”
“Well, I don’t feel great. I need some water or something -- flush all that fine Asgardian ale out of my system.”
They continued to bicker as they headed for the compound. You glanced around for Loki. He had already started off at a brisk walk.
“Loki!” You called and all three of them stopped. However, only two of them turned around to look at you, and neither of them was a certain raven-haired god.
“Could I, uh… ask you something real quick?”
The god straightened up, clasping his hands behind his back. You thought for a moment that he was going to keep walking -- that he’d walk down to the compound and right out of your life forever. Your heart clenched at the idea, and you found yourself holding your breath.
“Of course,” he stated, somewhat dryly, and turned to Thor with what you could only call a dismissive nod.
“I’ll… catch up with you later then,” Thor said before helping Bruce towards the compound, arm still slung over his shoulder. Bruce’s hand was on the small of his back, and even in your anxiety, you smiled.
But then there was Loki, standing in front of you and embodying the combination of both expectance and reluctance.
“I… uhm…” you suddenly felt like you’d done something wrong. “Were you just going to… leave? I mean…”
You didn’t know how to express what you were feeling, probably because you didn’t know what you were feeling. Loki took half a breath.
“No. I don’t know,” he shrugged, letting his hands fall to his sides. “I… don’t know,” he said it again.
“Hey Loki?” you began, voice rising an octave in almost nonchalant questioning. He narrowed his eyes.
“Yes…”
“I had a lot of fun this weekend. And not just because of Asgard. You do know that, right?”
Loki looked down at you, a million thoughts trying to form themselves into sentences behind his eyes. He glanced to his right -- to where Thor and Bruce were disappearing into the distance -- and something within him seemed to shift.
“Yes,” he murmured, then looked back at you. “Well, you do love me, after all.”
“Alright,” you insisted, rolling your eyes at his sly grin; though you couldn’t help but notice that his voice was missing some of its usual mischief.  “Look, what I’m trying to say is: I had a lot of fun hanging out with you, and -- I mean, I don’t know, but…. If you ever feel like doing it again sometime,” you shrugged, jamming your toe into the grass. “You know where to find me.”
You were watching your shoes intently, not even wanting to think about Loki or his dumb, beautiful face right now. And that had been going perfectly well until you felt the softest of touches beneath your chin.
You looked up into Loki’s gaze, watching you with a furrowed brow but the ghostly lines of a smile. You opened your mouth to speak but no words came out. Loki’s thumb brushed almost hesitantly across your cheek, like he was searching for something on the surface of your skin.
“Are you sure?”
“What?” you finally found your voice, but it was breathless and hoarse. “That I want to hang out with you?”
The guilty look in his eyes told you everything you needed to know.
“Jesus, Rochester, of course I’m sure.” you gave him a little shove, but of course, he hardly swayed an inch.
Instead, his hand shifted across your cheek, sliding up your jaw until his fingers brushed your ear. You swayed sideways a bit, glancing over at his arm as best you could before looking back into his eyes. There was something hungry there, but undeniably afraid.
“Loki?” you started, your voice dipping with a confused smirk.
In an instant, his thumb brushed over your cheek again, swaying you forward ever so gently as he leaned down to meet you. Your eyes found his for only a second until they fell lower, and then his lips were hovering over yours, skin barely grazing until you pressed into him.
Your hands came up to search him out, cupping his face with heartfelt tenderness, and the gesture encouraged him to finally kiss you properly. His lips were soft and a bit cold, but there was something about them that made your whole body light up. They reached into the very depths of your soul and held you close; you didn’t know how anyone could make you feel the way that he was right now.
Such a gentle, brief kiss shouldn’t have turned the both of you into a collective mess, but it did. Loki pulled back just as slowly as he’d advanced, and when you finally managed to open your eyes, he was watching you through a half-lidded gaze.
“I’ve been wondering if I’d ever have the honor of doing that,” he whispered.
You laughed nervously, ducking your head as you scrunched your nose -- but Loki followed you, pressing his forehead against yours and not letting you get away as he smiled fondly at your shyness.
“You’re so weird,” you murmured.
“And you are beautiful,” Loki replied in earnest, his breath fanning against your cheek.
“Alright,” you tried to gently deter him from giving you any more compliments, not sure your face could take any more heat. “You’re pretty beautiful yourself.”
Loki rolled his eyes softly before slowly letting his hands slide down your neck.
“Please don’t disappear on me,” you whispered. Loki’s brow knit, and he brushed his thumb along the hollow of your neck -- everything about him growing so gentle that you thought you might actually fall over.
“I won’t. You… this,” he stroked your neck again. “It scares me sometimes, but… I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere.”
“Good,” you breathed, raking his hair back behind his ears before letting go. “Because we’ve got a lot more classic literature to debate. How do you feel about Mr. Darcy?”
Loki laughed, leaning down to bump his forehead against yours again in a way that reminded you so much of a cat that you wanted to grab him and kiss him all over again.
“Would you believe me if I said I actually quite like Mr. Darcy?”
“Yes,” you decided. “Yes, I would.”
“Mr. Collins, on the other hand…” Now it was your turn to laugh, the skin around your eyes crinkling, and you suddenly found yourself trying to contain an overwhelming, insurmountable joy.
“I would be a bit worried if you didn’t dislike Mr. Collins. Everyone dislikes Mr. Collins.”
“Except Mr. Collins,” Loki added, and you did reach out and grab him then, laughing harder.
“Oh my god, I’m actually in love with you,” you choked out, and Loki draped his arms around your sides and tugged you a bit closer.
“I’m glad it didn’t take you until the end of our story to figure that one out,” he murmured, smirking slyly.
“Shut up,” you grinned, slapping him gently on the chest as you stepped around him. He followed you eagerly, folding his hands behind his back and leaning into your shoulder.
“Get used to it, darling. You’re officially stuck with me now.”
“Well, at least I’ve got you,” you scrunched your nose. “But I am going to miss Yrsa. She was pretty cool.”
Loki tilted his head, leaning slightly as you continued to walk towards the compound.
“You know,” he said after a moment. “It’s not like we can never return…”
You stopped walking.
“W…What?”
Loki also stopped, turning around to smirk at you. Taking a step forward, he leaned towards your ear.
“Thor and I used to sneak to Earth all the time,” he said simply, looking over your shoulder.
Your mouth fell open just as he spun around and took off at that quick pace that meant he was trying to get out of a conversation.
“Wait a minute,” you whispered, half to yourself. Then you took off after him, grinning like an idiot and yelling for him to “hang on just a second!”
Technically, that was his line.
***
Getting back into the swing of things after such a fascinating vacation wasn’t exactly easy. Tony was glad to see you, wrapping you in a tight side-hug the minute you entered the lab the day after your return. Bruce had given him a hard time, demanding to know where his hug was until the inventor threatened to finish their latest project without him and take all the credit.
It was good to be back.
It really was, despite how much you found yourself longing for the fields of Asgard, the quiet streets just after dawn, even the palace. The compound was great, but it paled in comparison to the astounding beauty of Thor and Loki’s home. And that was another thing: you missed spending time with the gods.
True to his word, Loki hadn’t disappeared on you. You certainly didn’t see him as often as you had so quickly gotten used to during your weekend trip, but you did see him. Sometimes in the library, sometimes in the kitchen -- sometimes he even sought you out in your room, his knocks becoming less and less hesitant every time he visited.
You even saw Thor around more often. He was one of the many Avengers that were busy with things outside of the compound, but he seemed to make a point to come by the lab whenever he was around. You had a very strong feeling it wasn’t just to see you, though he liked to play it up like that was the only reason. Everyone liked to give Bruce a hard time, but he knew he was loved; you could tell.
It was always good to see what had become such a friendly face in the lab, and Thor provided you and Bruce -- and even Tony -- with endless conversation and entertainment when he stopped by, perhaps preventing you from getting back to your work with as much attention as you probably should have. No one really minded, though.
While your days were once again spent in the lab, your nights were becoming increasingly filled with Loki’s presence. One way or another, the two of you found yourselves together -- usually reading in the common area, another downgrade from your prior arrangement in Asgard, but you were just glad to be near one another. You re-read Pride and Prejudice together, having many fun, meaningful discussions and heated debates over Mr. Wickham’s deceit and Jane’s kindness, and Lydia’s foolish nature. And love. You talked about love, too, and how it often started off differently than it ended. How that was often a good thing.
One night, in passing, you mentioned how something from the book had translated into the movie, and that was how Loki discovered that there was a movie and you discovered that he’d never seen it. You’d nearly elbowed him in the gut as you flipped around to face him from where the two of you were sitting on the couch, your back previously against his chest.
“Holy shit, we’ve got to watch it. And the TV series, too,” you bounced a little on the couch, and Loki’s eyes widened.
“I haven’t the slightest idea what on Earth you’re talking about.”
“Oh, just,” you rolled your eyes. “Trust me, it’ll be good. You’ll like it, I think. You’ll like Lizzie in the series -- she’s so sassy and sarcastic, it’s amazing.”
Loki was smirking now, hands gently gripping your elbows as you smiled over at him.
“Alright. I guess I’ll just have to trust you…”
“I guess you will,” you returned, scrunching your nose at him as you smiled.
“I… mhm,” whatever he’d been about to say was cut off by a little sigh as he leaned forward and nudged his nose against yours, eyes falling shut.
“Y’alright?” you checked, laughing softly.
“Yes. Quite,” he replied. “Just… tell me…” you were all ears. “Is Mr. Collins horribly dreadful?”
You burst out laughing, pulling him close so you could kiss him on the cheek. You’d pulled back, but he made an indignant noise of protests before recapturing you and kissing you firmly on the lips.
“Just wait until he gets to the boiled potatoes.”
“Oh Norns,” Loki groaned before pressing his laughter against your lips, kissing you softly this time as you swallowed the sounds he was making and that warmth that always surprised you.
One of these days, you’d sit him down to watch that movie with you. In the meantime, you’d kiss him.
Loki was full of surprises. You knew that, and yet somehow he still always managed to take you off guard, usually in the best way possible. He’d show up to the lab at the perfect time with a cup of something warm for you and the insistence that you stop working so hard and look at the stars with him. Or he’d find you in the kitchen at the exact moment you were struggling to reach something on the top of the fridge, appearing seemingly out of nowhere and nearly scaring the shit out of you.
He always apologized when he startled you, smiling in that soft, amused way as he braced himself for, as he put it, “your legs to malfunction.” That, however, was becoming less of an occurrence as time wore on. You claimed that it must have been Asgard that made you so clumsy. Loki claimed that his gratefulness was rubbing off on you.
Regardless, no matter how obviously he tried to let you know he was there, he always managed to startle you. Which, honestly, what did he expect when he was sneaky enough to go undetected by even the most skilled Avengers?
Especially when he did things like show up somewhere between the late hours of the night and the early hours of the morning.
“Y/N… come on, wake up!” you were pulled out of your otherwise peaceful sleep by his whisper.
Tensing, you blinked your eyes open to find Loki kneeling by your bed, his crystal eyes staring at you through the darkness from so close that you jumped nearly a foot in the air.
“What? Loki?” you squinted, blinking as you got your bearings.
“I should hope no one else in this dreadful place sneaks into your room at night,” Loki indignantly replied. “If they do, rest assured I’ll be having a word.”
“No, I just,” you shook your head. It was too early -- late? -- for this. “What are you doing here?”
Loki perked up like he’d just remembered.
“Right. Come on, we have to go. Heimdall will be waiting. I had to tell him you were coming before he even considered letting us through; I think it would be especially unwise to test his patience this time around,” Loki tilted his head in consideration, then reached down to pull you to your feet.
“Wh-- What are you talking about?” you asked, rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
There was something in his grin that was infectious, and the moment you caught sight of it on his pale, beautiful face, you felt your own lips curl into a smile.
Loki took a step back, extending a hand through the darkness and waiting eagerly for you to join him.
“Where are we going?” you softly asked, one hand still rubbing your eyes as you blinked over at him.
Loki’s smile grew.
“To Asgard, of course.”
You took his hand.

Babysitter pt 12
Tumblr media
Summary: The team debriefs.
Characters: Hela x fem!reader, the Avengers
Word Count: 2k
Warnings: angst/sad reality of the Snap, some soft smut
The only sound you could hear was the whirring of the air conditioning in the glass-encased office space. Tony was pacing at the front by the display TV with a map of the world flickering on the screen. You were picking at some debris that had gotten stuck under your nail, wondering if the awkward tensions between this group of people would ever cease.
Thor was chewing an apple, his eyes still staring daggers at Hela, who sat across from you. He was waiting for her to make a mistake. You had to admit his reason for mistrusting her was completely valid.
Tony tossed a 3D dart onto the screen, huffing as it landed in the middle of the ocean. There were numerous darts already pinned on more unsavoury places around the globe that you really weren’t a fan of.
“What do you say about that one then, Y/N?” he said, breaking the silence. “The middle of the ocean must be quiet enough for the both of you. Maybe you’ll find Atlantis.”
“Quit it, Stark,” Natasha replied. “Finding a new location for them is not the most ideal plan at this time.”
“Just trying to cheer everyone up, Nat.”
“Well stop trying, because it won’t work.”
“Don’t bicker,” you interrupted. “But Natasha is right. I can’t wrap my head around moving away to somewhere like Antarctica right now.”
“We could send them to Barton’s safehouse?”
“I really don’t think we should bother Clint right now,” Nat replied, her tone low and remorseful.
“But he’s all alone! Surely some company--”
“Stark.”
Her curt voice made you wince, realizing the implications of Hawkeye being ‘all alone.’ You picked at the nail a little more, wondering if you should try to reach out to him later to see how he was doing.
“Your world really is just crumbling at your feet, isn’t it?” Hela added, sensing the uneasiness across the room. “How easily humans break.”
“You’re not really helping your image right now, Hela,” you murmured across the table.
“She’s right though,” Thor agreed. “What is the rest of humanity supposed to do now?”
“We go into hiding,” Tony crossed his arms. “We find ways to live low. And maybe someday we find a way to fix it.”
“Why’s it always gotta be us, huh?” you sighed.
“That’s the shit you get with the name of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, sweetheart.”
“Why not find a way to fix this now?” Rhodey piped in. “Find who we can, buckle down, then locate Thanos.”
“Rhodey, we don’t even know if there is even a way to fix this at all,” Natasha sighed. Her eyes were weary and glossy with unspoken emotions. Your friends had all been tired for a very, very long time.
“I don’t know about you, but I would love to take a break for a while. Let the governments fix their half-empty countries. We’ve done enough,” Tony shrugged. “I’ve always wanted to have a cottage in the middle of nowhere, you know? With like, a lake. Maybe some birds.”
“Tony Stark in the wilderness? That would make a good reality show,” you commented. He chucked a 3D dart at you and it passed through your shoulder.
“Hey, you’d be surprised how capable I am out there.”
“But seriously, why not? We have all the capabilities of going into space and finding Thanos,” Rhodey continued, seemingly the only one with any vigour and charisma left out of everyone in the room. Probably out of everyone in the entire state at this point.
“Rhodey if you don’t stop talking I will snap your back,” Loki said. “Imagine we find Thanos tomorrow, how on earth could any of us take him on? We can barely stand.”
“We need a break,” you said. The group looked at you, stillness settling in the room. It was unusual, being the one they turned to for reason and leadership. You had to admit it would take some getting used to. “Hell I need a break, and I’m not even a superhero.”
You stood up, legs aching from the adrenaline, the running, and events of the day. Suddenly all you could think of was a long, steamy bath. “Tony is right. Plus, if we’re all in the same place, we’re easy targets. The world is too unbalanced and unstructured for us to make any plans like we did before. And... well, maybe we can even find peace with it.”
“Peace with half of the world disappearing?” Nat scoffed.
“Just for now,” you added, chewing your lip.
“Look, the last few weeks have shown me the reality of the Avengers, and all you aliens, gods, whatnot.” You gestured around the room with an absent, flitting hand, “The way you live your lives will kill you if you let it. But that means you have to keep fighting. And...” you felt a sudden wave of emotions choking your voice. You looked down at the table and tapped it absentmindedly with a finger. “...I don’t want to keep fighting anymore. I don’t think any of us can.”
Steve had been quiet up until now, his chin resting on his fist as he watched the conversation unfold. You sat down slowly as he spoke, now that there was a pause, “It’s settled then. Those of us who want to go into safehomes get to do so. Those who want to stay here or around civilization get to do so. We stay in touch when needed, but we go on with our lives. All we can do now is lay low and rebuild the world.”
“And ourselves,” you muttered. You felt the brush of a heel against your leg and you looked up to meet Hela’s gaze as she pressed reassuringly against you underneath the table.
“I’m knackered,” Tony stretched languidly and let out a deep breath. “Goodnight kids. We’ll figure the rest out tomorrow.”
“Shouldn’t we eat first?” you asked. “I don’t know about you, but I could use a burger right now.”
Tony snapped his fingers in agreement and pointed at you, “this is why I’ve always liked you, kid.”
-
Your new room was a bit larger than the last, fitting for both you and Hela. Your limbs were jittery with nerves as the evening had ticked by. Dinner was solemn until Tony put on a rock playlist, and you were pulled to your feet to dance on top of the dinner table. You were glad for the distraction. Hela had laughed at the sight of you spinning around without a care in the world. The sound had struck you in the heart and left you on a high the rest of the evening.
Thor, Hela and Loki kept at bay all night, which you were grateful for. No one tried to fight or kill one another. You had leaned over to your Goddess and whispered praise for actually behaving for once. She had replied with a darkening of her cheeks that surprised you.
Now, Hela was scanning the room, wondering why everything was so sleek and bare. Where were the gold decorations? Where were the elaborate furnishings? The bed frame was practically a box with no real character added to it.
“Tasteless,” she commented, just as the sound of the shower in the bathroom adjacent to the bedroom turned off. Hela stiffened, looking around at what she should do when you came back into the room.
A few minutes later you re-entered the room with a clean face and pyjamas on. Hela was fumbling with the bookcase. She was snarling under her breath, and you bit back a smile. A simple hair tie kept her thick black hair out of her face, and you were struck again by the domestic sight of her in the same room as you. It felt like a lifetime since you had seen her like this.
Hela kept opening the slim book covers with no pages inside, dumbfounded by the lack of paper and why on earth Stark would keep empty books like this.
“Tap the inside cover with your finger,” you suggested. Hela glanced up, startled by your voice. Her green eyes flitted longingly over your form for a moment before she did as you suggested. The book lit up with the title Treasure Island. She tapped it again and it popped out of the book in a projected screen from the metal cover.
“You humans make everything so complicated,” she huffed.
“Did you need the bathroom?” you asked, nonchalantly, closing the bathroom door behind you.
“No, thank you,” she said, putting the book back in its place. When she turned,  you were already under the covers, tucking yourself deeper under the blankets. A silence followed between the two of you.
“What?” you asked, pondering over her continued stare. She seemed... lost.
“I’ve missed you,” she whispered, barely audible.
As the shock of her vulnerability passed through you, your eyes brimmed with  hot tears again. You held up the covers and beckoned her into bed.
Instantly, her arms were around you. The armour dug into you, but as she held you it melted away until your body came in contact with bruised, soft skin.
“I’m sorry I ran,” she whispered against your neck, face buried there.
“Stop apologizing.”
“But I am.”
“We both did stupid things,” you said. Her leg came to wrap around your hip, tugging you even closer. Oh, how you had missed her touch.
“Hela,” you muttered as her lips began pressing against your collar bone, fingers grasping to pull your shirt down a little. She stilled, meeting your eyes with an unwavering gaze.
“Please don’t leave again.”
Her eyebrows furrowed with emotion as you tucked hair behind her ear and sighed. She pulled you closer and then rolled you onto your back before straddling your middle. You couldn’t tear your eyes away from hers as she leaned down to kiss you.
“Never again, my love.”
Your breath hitched with excitement as her cool hands slid under your shirt and cupped your middle around your ribcage. Her mouth opened for you and you gladly pulled her closer as your tongue explored hers.
“Call me that again,” you asked huskily, rolling your hips as her thumbs brushed over your nipples.
“My love,” she said, lips pressing against your neck, just by your ear. Her low voice made your tummy do wonderful flips. “My only.”
You finally managed to get your brain working again and reminded yourself to touch her. You reached up and cupped her breasts, squeezing the soft flesh eagerly. Then you trailed down, holding onto her thigh as you urged her to rock against you.
Hela growled by your ear, making you shiver. She pulled away to undress you and sat back to look at you, hands stilling as she stared at you again.
“I love you.”
You didn’t think tears would be the way you were going to respond to that, but they prickled at the edge of your eyes anyways.
“I love you too.”
She covered your body with hers and you wrapped yourself around her, kissing her with everything you could muster.
At some point, one of her hands had made its way down your middle and was circling your aching clit. The gentleness of it made you mewl desperately, and she swallowed your cries eagerly. The orgasm it gave you was soft, deep and left your core aching for more.
“Can I taste you?” you whispered.
Wordlessly, Hela laid back and you switched places, your hands palming her supple thighs and stomach, before pressing and coaxing her to open her legs for you.
“You’re everything,” you murmured, kissing her abdomen. She huffed in amused confusion,
“What does that--?”
She didn’t get a chance to finish her question, and you didn’t think to answer, because you buried your mouth in her core and all Hela could do was let out a weak gasp.
She rocked her hips against your mouth with slow movements, enjoying your soft and nervous pace. Her hand wrapped itself in your hair, and she murmured sweet nothings as you suckled her clit and made her quiver with a gentle, cascading orgasm.
Both of you were sweating lightly by the time you came up for air and you couldn’t help but giggle as she groaned and stretched with post-orgasmic bliss.
“Come,” she requested, opening her arms. You settled in her hold, burying your nose in her soft hair. She was fresh and clean and alive, and you couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish the day.

Champagne Problems
Wanda maximoff x reader
Natasha Romanoff x reader
Based on Taylor Swift's Champagne Problems.
------------------------------
The cold air of New York filled her lungs as she walked through the streets of the big city. She was back in town after a long time outside the country. But even after all that time, her feet were basically walking on their own as she made her way to the cafe that used to be her favorite some years ago.
The sudden warmth hit her face as she walked through the doors of the establishment, and the familiar smell of coffee and food drew a smile on her face.
- Natasha Romanoff, what a nice surprise! - A male voice shouted from the bar with emotion - It has been a long time since the last time I saw you walking through that door - he continued as the redhead walked towards him.
- Dan, it’s great to see you too - she answered with a soft smile taking a seat in front of the bar - How has everything been around here?
- Oh, we’ve been fine, you know, there has been no more alien invasion or attempts of ancient mythological gods to conquer the city, so, everything has been normal around here - he laughed and the girl did too. The lives of those poor people had not been the same since Loki’s last visit to earth.
- I’m glad to hear that - she said smiling - Can i have a regular coffee? - she asked and the man nodded.
- So, how you’ve been Natasha? Is fighting and protecting our world as tired as i heard? - Dan asked her as he began to prepare her order.
- You tell me. Have you ever blown up an entire country while fighting an army of robots a thousand feet from the ground?
- Oh yeah, the news from Sokovia was definitely a note, what a crazy world isn’t? A whole country completely gone from the face of earth… - the man said, but when he saw the girl’s reaction immediately added - But I’m sure you did what was necessary.
The Russian smirked and nodded without saying a word.
It’s been a while since i last saw Y/N too, how is she? - he said trying to change the conversation.
Natasha felt a knot on her stomach at the mention of your name. It had been a while since someone asked her about you. She was the last person anyone expected to know something about you. Well, at least anyone who knew what had happened between the both of you.
- Oh, Y/N and i are not together anymore. We broke up a few years ago - she said almost in a whisper.
The man handed her the coffee with a surprise expression on his face. He couldn’t believed what he was hearing. You and Natasha… Broke up? How could such an impossible thing could’ve happen?
- I’m sorry Natasha, i wouldn’t have asked if I knew - Dan apologized.
- Don’t worry, not many people outside the team knew about it, it was a very private matter - she said taking a sip of her coffee.
The man just nodded, not sure of what to say.
- Excuse me sir, I’ll have a cappuccino and a bagel please - a voice spoke from the other side of the bar.
- Uhh sure, in a moment - Dan replied giving Natasha one last apologetic look before heading back to work.
She just smile and said goodbye heading towards the door to leave.

- I swear this place has an amazing chocolate cake, and the coffee is also really good, c'mon Natty, come with me - your pleading voice filled the redhead’s room as you were trying to convince her to go with you to a new cafe you found a few days before .
- I don’t feel like going out today honey - she replied from her bed without taking her eyes off the screen in front of her.
You pouted and headed for her.
- Please, I promise you will love it - you tried again putting your best puppy eyes.
She sighed. How could she deny anything to you?
- Okay, let’s go before I change my mind - she said faking a sarcastic tone.
You smile and pecked her lips for a kiss, then you took her by the hand and dragged her outside the compound.
She was happy to be the one that provide you happiness. All she could see was how excited you were to show her this new place, and to share it with her. She felt lucky to be the first person you thought about when something made you happy, to be the one you fell in love with, to be the one to call you hers.
After that afternoon the cafe became your usual place for dates, or just to go to eat. And consequently you became friends with the owner, Dan, a 58 year old man that was very kind and friendly to both of you since day one.
He watched your relationship from the outside for years, three to be exact, and he was sure that you two were perfect soul mates. Also, he was excited to have two avengers as regular costumers.
But then, life showed to have different plans for the both of you.
Because I dropped your hand while dancing
Left you out there standing
Crestfallen on the landing
Champagne problems
Natasha wasn’t sure of when it started, but the constant overwhelming feeling of thinking about the future began to consume her.
If she had to mark a moment, she would say that was when she heard you talk about having an apartment together just for the two of you. Afterward, the idea of a house crossed your mind and you couldn’t stop yourself from talking with her about it.
- Can you imagine having a house for ourselves, and having a dog, or a cat, or… children, perhaps - you said while you were layed on her chest on the bed in your room.
She froze for a moment. A house? Children?
No, she wasn’t ready to think about that yet. But she could tell you were.
So all she did was laugh.
- Sure, maybe someday.
But her tone gave you a bad feeling. You stood from your place and took a sit beside her.
- We’ve been together for almost three years now and almost nothing in our relationship has change since then. Maybe it’s the right time to make a change, like move out of the compound and find a new place, just for you and me - you said with a little bit of disappointment on your voice.
She heard you were getting upset, so she tried to calm you down.
- Okay, baby, let’s chill, we don’t have to fight over this.
- No but let’s talk about it, i was really excited about talking with you about this kind of stuff.
- But why do you want to move out? here are our friends and the people that we love and consider our family - she replied on a try to convince you.
- Yes, but we only go to missions, save the world and then come back in here to wait for another mission. Also, some of them have another place to call home besides the compound.
Okay, you were getting on her nerves now.
- I thought this was enough for you.
You looked at her with teary eyes, about to cry.
- It was but… i thought we were on the same page. My bad - you answered moving your gaze to the ground.
She got that as a sign to leave the room, so she did. She definitely needed a drink.
When she got into the bar that Stark put on the compound for the parties that he used to do after long missions she found Steve and Banner in it.
- Place for one more? - she said as she placed herself between the two man drinking.
- Sure Romanoff, anything in particular that you’d like? - the blonde man asked her.
- No, anything will be fine, I’m kind of having a rough time - she said quietly.
- What happened? - Banner asked.
She sighed.
- I just had fight with Y/N
- Why? - Steve questioned as he handed a glass to her.
- Well, she wants us to move out to a place for me and her, and basically begin a new life with prospects of starting a family - she said sipping her drink.
- Isn’t that a good thing? That she wants a future with you? - the Cap asked confused.
Natasha thought about it for a moment. Wasn’t that good? Steve understood her silence and smiled friendly at her.
- I know this might seem scary, you never thought there would be chance for you to have a normal life, but Nat, there is a chance, and Y/N knows that. She loves you, maybe you should do it.
And that’s how her night went, hearing Steve talk about how good it’d be if she moved out with you and how great your lives would become.
But something about that didn’t felt right with her. She loved your lives just as how they were. And she didn’t even knew why she couldn’t see herself having that lifestyle with you.
Eventually Steve left the bar to go to sleep and leaving her and Banner alone in the place.
The green man hadn’t speak that much that night, he mostly just listened Rogers talk, just like Natasha.
- What do you think Bruce? Any advice for your friend? - she said taking another shot of liquor.
He smiled slightly, imitating the redhead’s action with the drink.
- Well Nat, I think I kind of understand your feelings. People like you and I don’t get to live a normal life, ever.
- You don’t think i should give a chance to this new phase with Y/N?
- I think you should do what you feel like doing, don’t act just because you are under pressure.
She sighed.
- So you are saying you don’t see yourself living a life like that? With a wife or kids?
He nodded
- That’s right, if i ever get a partner i’ll make sure that she has the same life goals and plans. That she understands my lifestyle and be okay with it, without any strong compromise that could possibly hurt each other’s feelings in the future. This way to live, where we are always saving the world it’s not for everybody, we don’t know if we will ever stop cause the danger can come from anywhere. And i don’t want anyone to waste their time either, people deserve better.
She knew exactly what her friend was talking about, cause she felt the same. It would be sort of impossible for you and her to try to persue a suburban lifestyle, cause your work was a priority. Or at least it was for her.
She kept talking with Bruce about it for a few more minutes and then, both left the bar.
She wasn’t sure if you wanted to see her, so she went straight to her room, maybe you were with Wanda, you had became a good friend of the Sokovian after defeating Ultron. But her surprise was that you were already there waiting for her.
- Hi - you said almost inaudibly.
- Hi - she replied closing the door behind her and walking towards you.
She saw the rednes around your eyes, as a proof of how much you have cried that night. And she felt guilty, you didn’t deserve that.
- Listen Nat, i’m sorry if tonight i tried to push you into anything that you are not ready for, but i really thought that it was the right time to do it - you started talking in a shaky voice.
She felt horrible with herself. How could she hurt you? the person she loved the most was in pain because of her.
- No no no, honey, i’m sorry for how i handled the situation, it’s just that i don’t think i want to have that just yet, maybe we should get married first and…
- Married? - you asked, a slight hope coming from voice.
Oh no. She was giving you a fake hope for something that she might never be ready for.
But the words came out of her mouth before she could even think of what she was saying.
- Yes - she said still unsure - Maybe we can give that step first before doing something else.
You smiled brightly and held her by the neck to crash your lips with hers. Maybe Nat was right, you needed to start slowly.
She felt relaxed after that night, maybe over the time you’ll see how great you two were together without any pressure for the future.
But the clock was ticking for the both of you.
Your mom’s ring in your pocket
My picture in your wallet
Your heart was glass, I dropped it
Champagne problems
Unlike your girlfriend you never stopped thinking about the wedding thing since that night. You were only waiting the right moment to do it, cause you wanted to be the one to propose to Nat. You knew how insecure she was feeling about it and wanted to give her the reassurance to give the next step. You were so ready.
So you began to plan everything, and asked Wanda for help.
Of course, she said yes.
Since the destruction of Sokovia you were the closest person to the girl and you had been there for her anytime she needed it. Cause, for sure Vision was a great friend for her too, but there was something about you that made her feel happy, your presence was like a breath of fresh air to her soul. Everytime you were near, she felt in complete confidence.
But when those feelings started to develop into something deeper, she tried to take a step back.
She knew about your relationship with Natasha and was grateful with the redhead for sharing you with her. The russian girl never showed any kind of jealous about your friendship, and Wanda didn’t want to betray Nat’s trust. So she tried to put those feelings aside. But undoubtedly they were still there, making your engagement, being like hell for her.
- I’m gonna go for the rings to my old parent’s house next week and gonna ask Stark about doing the proposal at the compound, with all of our friends - you said to Wanda, who was with you in your favorite cafe, chatting about the proposal planning.
- That’s great, it’ll be intimate but with your closest friends with you - she agreed - So you’re giving her your mom’s ring?
- Yes, she told me that she wanted me to give that ring to the girl i married, and for me to wear my father’s. It will be something very special.
She wished she was that girl.
You both continued talking for a while longer without knowing that it was the last time you would be in that cafe.
Natasha was completely unaware of your plans, she thought you were taking your space after your last fight. No one but you, Wanda and Tony knew about the proposal.
You told your family for a reason
You couldn’t keep it in
Your sister splashed out on the bottle
Now no one’s celebrating
Dom Pérignon, you brought it
No crowd of friends applauded
Your hometown skeptics called it
Champagne Problems
And the day finally came. Stark told the team that they were having an intimate party just for them. They knew that he always liked to have parties for no reason, so they just confirmed their attendance without asking anything more. The only requirement was to be as stylish as possible, because “they couldn’t look like homeless all the time” in Stark’s words.
You chose a cute black suit tailored for you and a matching pair of high heels. “You looked amazing,” in Wanda’s words.
Natasha wore a silver-gray dress that fell just above her knees. “She looked like a Goddess” in your own words.
Dinner was fine, you and the team were chatting about anything and everything. Every single one of your friends was there: Sam, Bucky, Clint with Laura, Cap, Banner, Thor, Wanda, Maria Hill, Stark, Pepper, Vision, Peter and even Nick Fury himself was there. He might not be close to you but he was special for Natasha, so you asked Stark to invite him over.
You couldn’t stop to feel butterflies on your stomach. Wanda squeezed your hand giving you a supportive look. “It’s gonna be fine” she whispered in your ear. Stark gave you a sign that he had ready the champagne to celebrate as soon as Natasha said yes.
You gave a last glance to the Natasha’s picture you always kept with you in your wallet.
You were ready.
It was time.
You had a speech, you’re speechless
Love slipped beyond your reaches
And I couldn’t give a reason
Champagne problems
You got up from your chair and caught everyone’s attention by tapping your fork against your glass.
Suddenly the room was silent and everyone’s eyes were on you. You felt your blood run to your face as you flushed, but then you started to talk.
- Goodnight everybody, I hope you had a great dinner and a great night as well. Tonight you came here by Tony’s call, but I’m the one who asked him to get all of you gathered together.
Natasha was confused, why didn’t you tell her that dinner was your idea?
She looked for Tony’s face and she saw him smiling and holding a champagne bottle. Then she found Banner’s look on her, he was given her a sad smile, almost pity.
What was happening?
Bruce heard from Tony what were your plans for the night a few minutes ago. He knew Natasha’s feelings, so he couldn’t help but feel pity for you, and for her.
- As everyone here knows, me and this beautiful woman have been together for almost 3 years now. We’ve been through very different situations and plenty of experiences that made me realized she is the love of my life, and the girl i want by my side for eternity…
Wanda, sitting right beside you, was heartbreaking. She was holding a soft smile to give you confidence, but in the inside all she wanted to do was ask you to don’t ask Natasha for marriage. But everything was settled, after that night you would be Natasha’s forever.
The Sokovian saw you getting in one knee front of your girlfriend, taking a little red velvet box out of your pocket.
A bucket of cold water hit on Natasha in that instant.
- Natasha…
- No, Y/N, no, I’m sorry - she cut you off before you could even start your special speech for her.
Everyone in the room was in complete silence after that, the only sounds that could be heard was the music playing in the background, Natasha’s heels walking out of the room and her sobs. She ran out crying.
But you, you were frozen still on your knee. All you could feel was a pain in your chest as you began to be aware of what had just happened.
Reality hit you.
She said no.
Wanda took a few seconds to react to the situation, but the sudden splash of the champagne that Tony was holding took her out her thoughts. Everyone looked at him and the man’s face turned all red whilst trying to stop the liquid.
- Okay people, the party is over, let’s give her some space, everybody out of this room now - Tony said, still trying to stop the drink, and everyone obeyed him in a hurry.
Only Wanda and Vision stayed.
Wanda went straight to help you to stand up, but you fell on both of your knees instead.
- Y/N... - she said your name with sadness.
You said nothing. Everything went blurry from that moment on. You weren’t sure if it was because of your tears or because you felt like you could pass out at any moment.
- Vis, help me sit her on the chair please - she said and the android took you gently by the arm so you could use him as a support, passing a hand on your back to help you walk.
When you made it to the chair your tears began to fall down as you started to cry.
Wanda knew in advance that it will take a while before you could start to talk about the situation. She asked Vision to leave te room so you could cry as long as you wanted.
She would be there with you.
Being honest, she couldn’t understand Natasha’s actions. Even she knew that the redhead was head over heels for you, and she expected the girl to say yes. She was as confused as the rest of the team.
Your crying brought her out of her thoughts some minutes after, your eyes were all red as was your face. You were a mess.
- I wanna go to my room, please - you asked her between sobs, she nodded and took your hand to lead you upstairs.
When the two of you were in front of your door, you realized that it would be a torture for you to walk in when everything in that room could remind you of Natasha.
- Can we go to your room? I don’t wanna go inside mine - you said to Wanda.
- Yes, of course - she replied and lead you both to her room.
Once in there you continued crying. How could she ever did such a thing to you? Natasha was supposed to be your eternal love but now all she had done was rip your heart out without thinking twice.
Your head was on Wanda’s lap as she was caressing your back and your hair, singing a Sokovian lullaby softly. You didn’t know what she was saying but it was so relaxing that you stayed like that for minutes.
- I can’t believe what she said - you finally spoke - I thought she loved me.
- I’m sure she loves you Y/N, maybe she just freaked out - she tried to convince you it could have been a first reaction from her part.
- Clearly she doesn’t love me as much as I love her - you said with a sad tone, and began to cry again.
- Don’t overwhelmed yourself with those thoughts, you haven’t spoke to her yet
- You’re right, she hasn’t even come to talk to me.
Wanda didn’t say anything else. She couldn’t keep trying to justify Nat’s actions anymore, it had been a while since the dinner events and the redhead hadn’t shown up since she ran out.
So she just let you vent with her for as long as you needed.
The person who you loved the most had just broke you. It didn’t matter what her reasons were, all you knew in that moment was that Natasha didn’t want to spend the rest of her life with you. The worse thing was that you truly believed in her word on what she told you a few weeks ago, you believed she wanted to go slow, step by step. But now you knew that Natasha wasn’t sure to even start.
- Can I spend the night with you? I don’t want to be alone right now - you asked Wanda, hoping for her to say yes.
- Of course, I’m not letting you be on your own tonight - she said with a soft smile - I’ll lend you a pajama so you can be more comfortable okay?
You just nodded and let the girl take care of you.
Although your mind was begging you to get some rest, you couldn’t help but wonder where Natasha was and what was she doing.
The moment she ran out of the dining room she headed outside the compound, in needing of fresh air. Her tears were all over her face and she screamed in pain knowing that everybody was still inside and no one could hear her.
What have she done?
Everything felt like a nightmare. All she could remember was your face fulled with pain the moment she cut your speech out to tell you no.
She cried again at the remind of her own words.
But she needed to stop you before you could start to proclaim your love for her, otherwise she would have accept the engagement and made you believe she wanted to get married.
Now she was wondering if she made the right thing. You prepared a whole night for her and she just screwed everything up.
But why would you? She knew she told you that marriage was an option for her, but she never expected for you to propose to her.
But you did, and she said no. In front of all of your friends. She left you kneeled with the ring on your hand.
- I’m a monster - she whispered to herself.
The sound of steps on the grass caught her attention. Clint and Banner were approaching towards her.
- Nat - Clint said as he came closer - Oh Nat...
- Clint, please, I want to be alone now - she requested.
But the man held her in a hug and she broke inside his arms.
- I’m a horrible person - she said between her crying.
- No, Nat you’re not - he tried to comfort her.
- I just broke her heart
He and Banner didn’t say a word. They knew Natasha had just messed up her relationship, the moment had been awful not just for the two girls but for the whole people watching. No one was expecting such a twist in the night.
- Where is she? - Nat asked breaking the hug.
- Wanda and Vision are with her in the dining room.
She nodded and hugged Clint again.
The three of them sat on the little bench of the garden and Banner gave his blazer to Nat so she could be warm.
- What am I supposed to do? I don’t think she’ll ever talk to me again - Nat finally said after a few minutes.
- But you both need to talk, what just happened is something huge for the two of you and your relationship - Clint said
- I know but, maybe if we talk it’ll be just to… - before she could finish her sentence her tears came out of her eyes. Natasha realized that everything was over for the both of you. The talk you will have would be the final talk. To finish everything.
- You’re not sure about getting married, right? - Clint asked her friend.
She shook her head side to side. He understood.
- So you would rather finish everything with Y/N before do something you don’t want to do? - Bruce said.
- Banner I don’t think Nat… - Clint tried to interrupt him but the doctor kept talking.
- No Clint, I’m seriously asking cause what happened in there was not a joke. Nat needs to begin to think about what she wants for hers and Y/N’s future.
- Maybe she doesn’t need to figure everything out just yet - Clint said.
- I just don’t think that’s fair for Y/N - Banner said before standing from the bench to look at Nat - You know what you want Nat, if you’re sure you can handle marriage then go and tell it to Y/N. But if you like your life just as how it is so far, you need to start to think about what is going to happen. I told you, this way to live is not for everybody, make sure Y/N is part of the people who understand that.
Then the doctor said goodbye and left the pair of friends alone.
- Clint I don’t think I’ll ever want to be married - she spit out of nowhere
The man sighed.
- Are you sure Nat? Like never? Not even to Y/N?
She shook her head.
- No… - the redhead paused for a second - And don’t get me wrong, i love her so much, i would love to have her in my life forever… But i don’t think i can give her the life she wants, the life she deserves.
- But if you want to be with her, what would be the difference between being married or not?
- Because she wants more. She talked to me about buying a house and having pets and children. She wants a family lifestyle and I don’t. I like our lives just as they are so far, living here, going on missions and saving the day; and it’s been amazing having her by my side all this time, but that’s not enough for her anymore.
That’s when it dawned on Natasha what she needed to do.
Your Midas touch on the Chevy door
November flush and your flannel cure
“This dorm was once a madhouse”
I made a joke, “Well, it’s made for me”
How evergreen, our group of friends
Don’t think we’ll say that word again
And soon they’ll have the nerve to deck the halls
That we once walked through
Your friends were unsure about what to do. Some of them were in the bar waiting for news about you and Natasha, mostly hoping it was a misunderstanding and that you would be engaged by the end of the night.
But as the time went by some of them understood that the situation was worse than they could have imagined, and they started to either go to their rooms in the compound or leave to go home, all worried for what would come for the two of you.
The only person who didn’t seem shocked at all was Nick Fury. That man knew Natasha well enough to know that she was not getting married now or ever. And for a split of second he felt sorry for you, cause he already knew what Natasha was about to do.
One for the money, two for the show
I never was ready, so I watch you go
Sometimes you just don’t know the answer
‘Til someone’s on their knees and asks you
You woke up late the next day, not wanting to leave Wanda’s room. You were terrified by the idea of finding Nat on the halls, so Wanda brought your breakfast to her room and some of your clothes for you to wear.
Nat didn’t come out of her room that day either, Steve went talk to her as he did to you too, but Nat had took a decision, she was just waiting to find the right words to go to talk to you.
By five in the afternoon she knew it was time to face it, so she encouraged herself and walked to your room hoping to find you in there.
She opened the door looking for your presence, but she found and empty room with the lights out.
- She’s not in there - Wanda’s voice told her from the hall - She spent the night in my room.
Natasha turned around to find Wanda holding a tray of food.
- This is her meal. Do you want to take it to her? She hasn't eat anything since breakfast - the brunette girl offered to Nat.
Romanoff just nodded and took the tray.
- Thanks Wanda, thanks for taking care of her last night - Nat said on their way to Wanda’s room
- Don’t worry Nat, Y/N is my friend, I would do anything for her
- Is she mad at me?
- No, i don’t think so, mostly sad and disappointed - Wanda said - But she wants to talk with you, she was waiting for you to come over last night.
- I know, but i also needed to do some thinking, now i’m sure about what i’m gonna say - Natasha told her as they stood in front of the door.
- Natasha, please don’t break her heart - Wanda said softly before the redhead could get inside the room.
The russian similed sadly at the girl.
- Wanda, after this Y/N is going to need you all the way. Please make sure she doesn’t drown herself in sadness and pain. She deserves a better life than the one i could ever offer. Make sure she finds someone good enough for her. Could you do me that favor?
Wanda said nothing. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Natasha was going to break up with you definitely.
Natasha opened the door to get in and closed it behind her.
- Wanda I told you I’m not hungry - she heard your voice from under the blankets, you were all covered up from head to toe.
- Y/N - the woman said your name.
You froze the moment you heard her voice. You were worried to get out of the blankets and face her.
- Could you please get out of the bed? You need to eat and… We need to talk - she said placing the tray of food on the counter beside the bed.
You said nothing, still all curled up on mattress.
- Please Y/N, look at me…
- No, Natasha, I don’t wanna look at you - you said.
- We need to talk, is important.
- What do you wanna talk about!? - you yelled in exasperation as you came out of the blankets - Oh yeah, about how you shut me down last night when i was giving you my heart? When I was about to propose to you?
She jumped a little due the sudden change in the atmosphere. Just as Wanda said, she saw the disappointment in your eyes.
- Please, let me explain…
- You said you wanted to go slow, step by step, and even after being together for almost three years i gave you that - you cut her off.
- Yeah I know but-
- You said that we should get married first, and i gave you that, or at least I tried - you chuckled bitterly.
- I know, and I’m so sorry for giving you non-existent hopes, but…
- non-existent hopes? What do you mean? - you asked her with a broken voice.
She sighed.
- I don’t want to get married Y/N, never - she said.
You felt your heart break as the tears began to roll down your cheeks.
- And i’m sorry for making you believe that I would do it one day, but i thought you would forget the subject eventually.
- Forget the subject? Natasha i told you i wanted to have a family with you one day, why would I forget my intentions on marry you? - anger began to run through your body.
- That is the problem Y/N, i don’t see myself having that life, i don’t wanna have a family or have a perfect house with a picket fence - she mentioned, breaking your heart in the process.
You were speechless after that, so she kept talking.
- I like my life and i like my job, do you think the danger or the bad guys will wait for us to have our perfect Barbie life before attacking again?
- So you want to do this forever? - you questioned, finally realizing what she was saying.
- Yes, i want that... I don't know if it's because of my past - she said with trembling lips - You know I can't have children, the red room trained me to only do my job... I guess that's why the idea of a "family" never crossed my mind, it dawned on me the idea of only do this way before I met you...
You gulped, Natasha have told you about her life in the red room, but she mentioned this aspect before.
- Why didn't you tell me? - you asked getting closer, caressing her cheek and Natasha closing her eyes at your touch - Natty we can change that, I want you to know that we can have a life together...
She shook her head, opening her eyes.
- No Y/N, i don't want it - she said in a whisper - I just don't want it, and it’s unfair for you because you want and deserve something i can’t give you, you deserve something better… Someone better…
You shook your head denying, not liking where this was heading.
- No, no, Nat, please - you plead in a whisper - Don’t do this… Please…
She stared at you, tears starting to roll down her cheeks.
- I’m sorry Y/N…
- No, I’m sure we can make this work, we can… - you cried, looking right into her eyes - Please just don’t… Please.
The silence in the room felt like hell. The both of you knew what was about to happen.
- Y/N…
- Nat…
She would’ve made such a lovely bride
What a shame she’s fucked in her head, “ they said
But you’ll find the real thing instead
She’ll patch up your tapestry that I shred
And hold your hand while dancing
Never leave you standing
Crestfallen on the landing
With champagne problems
The following days you locked yourself in Wanda’s room again, refusing to go out, speaking exclusively to Wanda. The rest of the team didn’t force you to go out either, they were worried about you, but thanks to Wanda, they at least were sure you were still breathing.
After a week, you knew it was time to get out. You wanted to avoid Natasha at all costs. You were not ready to talk or see her again yet. But soon you found out that was not happening.
- She left the compound yesterday, Tony sent her to an undercover mission to Asia with Bruce, Steve and Clint - Wanda told you.
Wow, you weren’t expecting that. She literally left you out of her life in less than one week.
Soon everyone knew that you had broken up with her definitely, and your teammates were in complete shock.
"I can’t believe they broke up”
“It would have been a beautiful wedding”
“Poor Y/N she must be destroyed”
“I really believed they would end up together”
The time passed by and you couldn’t help to hear some of the things the people said about you and Natasha. It was incredibly painful the first weeks, but luckily you had Wanda. She was with you the whole time, holding your hand and cleaning you tears, never leaving your side.
After four months Wanda told you that Natasha had finished her mission on Asia and that she and the rest of the boys were coming back to the compound on the following days.
For sure you’d been a long way on your healing process, but weren’t ready to see her again yet.
- I don’t think i wanna be here when she comes back, Wanda i need to leave this place before her arrival - you told the girl.
- You want to leave? - she asked worried that you might want to go alone.
- I want us to leave, Wanda come with me, you’ve been with me this whole time, you are my rock, I don’t think i can make it without you… But if you want to stay i completely understand…
- Oh Y/N - she cut you off cupping your face with her hands and smiling at you - I’m sure you can make anything you want all by yourself, but i’ll be glad to go with you anywhere you want.
You stared at her eyes, feeling a warm sensation and then you kissed the palm of her hand that was on your face, making the girl’s heart skip like crazy.
Wanda knew that you were still healing, and that Natasha’s wound was a deep one. But she felt hope that someday you would fall for her just as hard as you did for the russian. She would never leave you, she would give you the life you deserve.
That night you both talked with Tony about your plans and your reasons to leave. The man told you that there was a house, in Belgium that was big enough for the two of you and that was completely out of the radar, so you would have privacy. He also said that you could work for Stark Industries from there to earn some money.
You accepted immediately, and Tony told you that it was possible they might still need Wanda in the future to help the team occasionally. She agreed and the next night the both of you left for Belgium, so when Natasha was back you were completely gone.
Present day
After heading out the cafe Natasha walked to the park where she told Steve to wait for her.
She saw him sat on a bench next to his motorcycle.
- Hello stranger - she said once she was near enough for him to hear her.
He looked up and smiled at his friend. It was been a while since the last time he saw her. One year and a half to be concrete.
- Romanoff, it’s good to see you again - he said as he stood up to hug the woman.
She felt good with the embrace.
- I know, but I’m finally back. How’s been everything around here? - she asked taking a sit on the bench.
- Well you know, we hit the bad guys and teach them some manners.
They both laughed.
- How are you? - he asked this time
- Good, everything’s been good. Just needed to solved some family issues that I had pendant, but now I’m available again for the Avengers.
- Well you are more than welcome, we need our Widow back.
Steve received a message from Tony, it was time for the party.
- Are you ready to go? Stark it’s asking for us - the man said as he stood up to the motorcycle.
- Sure, i wanna see everyone - she said happily.
Then Steve remembered that there was something he needed to tell her.
- Uhmm Nat… Y/N and Wanda will be there too - he said.
Natasha felt a knot on her stomach again, your name was giving her goosebumps.
- I know, Tony told me when he called me to come, i’m fine with that - she answered, lying in the last part.
He sighed.
- Okay Romanoff, let’s go.
The way to the compound was a little long, and she couldn’t stop her mind from thinking of you.
She wasn’t updated with all of your life, but the last thing she heard about you was that you were now in a relationship with Wanda since 2 years ago and that you were still living on Belgium.
She was happy for you, but the sensation of a hole on her stomach by the thought of you, building your life with someone else, was still there.
In all those years, there was a time where she found herself wondering, how would it be if you were still with her? She hadn’t changed her mind about the marriage idea, but then she thought that she could have changed it for you.
But in the moment she left you, she was sure of what she was doing, maybe still being so immature at that moment.
It was being great to see everyone again, it’s been so long since the last time you have been in the compound. Wanda used to visit it a little more often than you because of her missions, but in the last year she stayed with you at home. Both had left the superhero life.
You and Wanda were married now, a half year ago you had a very private wedding at Belgium. You asked her to marry you after one year and a half of dating, and she said yes. Only Pepper and Tony knew about it cause they were the only guests to the dinner celebration. Now you were thinking about starting a family soon. Wanda told you she would love to have two kids. And you couldn’t be happier about it. That woman turned into your entire world since the moment she dropped her life in America and followed you to Europe without thinking twice. She might not be your first love, but she definitely is the love of your life.
- Are you okay sweetie? You zoned out for a moment - your wife’s voice took you out of your trance.
You look up to meet her eyes and smiled at her.
- Yes honey, i’m fine, i was just thinking about everything we’ve been through since the moment we left this compound - you said grabbing her waist to put her closer to you - And about how i’m so lucky to have you.
Wanda smiled and kissed you before giving you hug.
She was so happy that you were finally hers, that you loved her the way she always wanted, that she was the only one that get to call you wife and that she will be the mother of your future children.
Your moment was interrupted by Pepper and Tony, whom went to say hello. They became your closest friends since the moment Tony give you the house (that ended up being almost a Mansion, but for Tony it was just “big enough for the two of you”), and the happy couple was like family now to you.
Pepper stole your wife from your side to have a chat and you and Tony started to talk about Stark Industries. After so many years of working for him, you became his right hand for the business. It was a hard work, but the money you were earning was making it worth.
After a few minutes you saw Steve coming into the party, and your heart stopped for a second when you saw who was with him.
- Y/N - Tony said awkwardly - I might forgot to tell you that Romanoff was coming today.
You saw her greeting everyone on the room happily. She was blonde now. But, contrary of what anyone could think, all the sadness and anger you had against her on the past, was gone now.
Of course it was shocking for you to see her again after all those years, but you felt nothing more with her presence. No joy, no anger, no sadness, no disappointment… You just felt nothing after that initial surprise.
You knew nothing about her life on those years, only that Tony and Wanda told you that she was with Banner from time to time, and that she was still being an Avenger.
- Sweetheart - Wanda called for you holding your hand. Judging by her face you could tell that she had seen Natasha as well.
- I know darling, i’m fine - you assured her and kissed her hand gently to let her know that everything was fine.
Natasha saw you next to Stark from the very first moment that she walked inside the room, but seeing her friends again took you out of her mind for some minutes. But when she went to greet Tony you were no longer there.
She spent the whole party trying to avoid you, and ignoring the knot on her stomach everytime she saw you and Wanda sharing moments.
From afar, she could recognize a ring placed on your left hand, and she saw the pair of that ring on Wanda’s hand. She understood in that moment that, either you were engaged, or already married with the girl.
By the end of the night there was only the team left, still chatting and drinking. Eventually the wedding subject came out and everyone seemed excited to know everything about it.
- What i wanna know is why you only invited Stark? I thought we were besties Y/N - you heard Sam joking.
You and Wanda laughed, you were happy to finally talk about you special day with your friends.
- I promise to convince my wife to do a party here in New York to share with you guys - Wanda said and everyone cheered at the idea.
Everyone except Natasha. She was with Bruce in the bar on her attempt to avoid jeopardize the chat about you and your wife for the rest of the team.
Bruce tried to distract her from your conversation but totally failed. Natasha was not paying any attention to the doctor. Her mind was on you.
She saw how you held Wanda’s hand to give it a kiss, talking about how your wedding day had been one of the best in your life. She heard about your plans for the future and how you were finally getting everything you ever dreamed about.
It was like slow motion for her, watching you so happy with your wife by your side.
And she understood that the decision she took years ago was the right one. She couldn’t had ever give you the life you had now. And she was grateful with Wanda for make you so happy. In your life there was no space for her uncertain lifestyle; there were no space for it in the past, and there was no space for it now in the future.
She heard a slow music begin to play and the lighting of the room suddenly shifted to a warmer tone, with a spotlight on the center for you and Wanda. The team made you both dance as soon as they knew you didn’t had a dance on your wedding night. Everybody was staring at you with bright smiles on their faces as you and Wanda danced around the room like nobody else was there.
And Natasha smiled too. She was happy for you.

Of Ups and Downs.
It was a rollercoaster day today. I’m tired and emotional.
Down - every time I look at SBO and see how frail and skinny he is, how he only eats what I offer him by hand, no chicken anymore just the best raw steak I can find (I’ve never eaten steak like he is being served up on a daily basis! I’ve finally found something to burn my useless salary on!), the constant sobs initiated by his usual head pushed against me waiting for stokes.
Up - I finally feel I added some value to my team! God, I now have three people in my team and my fellow gal pal (marketing manager) gave some some tips and a spreadsheet to help setup my teams individual priorities for next quarter. I emailed it round this morning with direction on how I want us to priorities our work:
- a learning priority: they can chose something they want to learn (a compulsory 10% of their bonus) to encourage curiosity and a growth mindset (an essential trait of a product person)
- a product priority set by me: there is some shit that just needs to get done, that pushes the team forward, advances the product or our processes. Willing to negotiate on the success metrics
- a personal priority - each person can chose a priority they want to work towards, it cants be BAU, it must be something that is a stretch. I will need to approve or negotiate and key results are also negotiable.
All my peeps were happy and I had a light build moment that the single most valuable thing I can do for them is provide what begged all my useless CPO’s for in my previous roles. Give them direction and the why, and they will solve the how! I finally came away after several hours relieved instead of berating myself for being useless! I did have to get tough and negotiate with my PO (new to this role but an excellent BA), she just won’t prioritise learning how to think like a product person. She’s in danger of losing some of her bonus because she just didn’t make time. Will see if she delivers on the compromise I suggested! My new PO/PM is so delightful (if confident!), he talks my language and I don’t have to change his nappy or tell him how to do his job!! So refreshing!
Down - I kind of lost my shit in a meeting! Not hugely but I did let my frustrations show. Explaining that the meeting we were in (and several others I had to sit through) were quite frankly a fucking waste of time until the exec team makes a call on how we segment a customer base. I am not prepared to (its well above my pay grade!) and have provided the necessary data for them to battle it out. The project manager agreed, the meeting was cut short. I immediately regretted my outburst and sent a message to her apologising for letting my frustrations get the better of me. I also owned I probably should have escalated a week or so ago but have been snowed under with a thousand other priorities (roadmaps, product relates plans and annual planning). Gulp. Note to Self: bite my tongue next time and go to her direct not in front of 7 other people.
Up - my work trip to the US was cancelled so I can stay home with Loki!
Down - I haven’t been for a run or been to the gym since I got back. I forgot how fucking brutal the dark, icy morning are here and what a disincentive it is to running. I hate it.
Up - finally got booked in to have my shoulder injected, although I’m absolutely shitting myself.
Down - did I mention just how dark and cold it is.
Up - winter solstice is imminent. Which means the long slow downhill slide into summer….and by summer I mean January next year!!
Down - hearing Loki licking incessantly all night and not knowing what he was doing. Waking this morning and discovering his bed was absolutely saturated with pee and him so distraught and mortified. So much cortisone equals so much extra water drinking equals so much peeing. Only he didn’t get up at all. Im setting my alarm for 3 hour intervals tonight to get him up. He’s definitely an old, old dog now and it breaks my fucking heart. A matter of weeks ago he was shiny, lithe, well muscled and a bundle of cheek. Now he’s gaunt, slow and smells of old dog and urine. Fuck it’s so unfair. I don’t want anything to change, I want to go backwards in time and freeze when he’s young and active and full of beans. The end is closing in faster and faster and there’s no way to stop it. And foolishly I just keep wishing and wishing I could turn back time.
Up - I found a packet on M&M’s in my luggage which I completely forgot about and discovered just when I needed them around 3pm this afternoon!

Landing the Bowie on Earth to find the legendary Kevin Bacon wasn’t something Mantis did often. But when she did, it was with Drax. The landing would have been more successful had Drax remembered to make the ship appear invisible, but he forgot, only doing so after she reminded him… when it was too late. Humans already saw them. An argument ensued, and Mantis asked Drax to stay inside the Bowie while she went looking for Quill’s present. She knew she would find a way to get to Kevin Bacon. She had to. She couldn’t just be a bad sister forever. Sometimes she had to do the right thing, like stalking and kidnapping a man to put him inside a box wrapped in Christmas-themed paper. Mantis just wanted Quill to feel better. Recovering from the loss of Gamora was being the hardest mission for the Guardians so far.
Earth was a really pretty planet, although it seemed that some humans didn’t appreciate its beauty, but it was okay; she wasn’t going to tell humans what to do with their planet. The nature in it was beautiful, and Mantis couldn’t help but beam. Especially when she casually saw Thor.
“Hi Thor,” she greeted him absentmindedly. But then, she stopped walking. “Thor?” What was he doing on Earth? He left the Guardians not so long ago. Maybe the Avengers were being formed again? That could only mean there was a new threat. Was it bad? In any case, questions could wait. “Thor!” she exclaimed, running in his direction. Mantis leapt onto him for a hug; maybe he still needed affection as much as he did when he was part of the team. “I’m so happy to see you!”
The event that killed half of them all had not claimed Thor’s life, and Mantis remembered the sheer guilt the god of thunder felt. He felt like a failure all day, every day. He also lost his fellow teammates Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff. He missed them, and mostly he missed his best friend Heimdall. And his brother Loki. And his mother Frigga. And his father Odin. Stars, Thor had lost everyone, and Mantis just wanted to ease his pain again… But the man she was hugging only felt confusion, and-
Mantis pulled away from the hug, landing on her feet and taking a few steps back cautiously; her powers giving her a little bit of context. “You’re not Thor,” was all she said, her expression surprised and confused. What the fuck, was what Rocket would’ve said had he been there. Suddenly she remembered something. Thor mentioned that his brother Loki was a shapeshifter. He could change appearance; pretend to be someone else. Mantis found the ability a bit unsettling, since it was something Ego could do, too, but according to Thor, Loki was the god of mischief, so it was in his nature, just like Thor was the god of thunder. And from what Mantis was seeing, Loki had taken the appearance of his brother.
Oh, Thor was about to be so happy.
“Loki,” she whispered, before leaping for another hug. “Loki! You’re alive! It’s so nice to meet you!” Mantis exclaimed with half a sob half a laughter, tears in her eyes. She had to contact Thor immediately. From what he said, Loki had faked his death once or twice. Faking it again to survive Thanos had been a smart move, Mantis thought, but… Thor missed him. Terribly.
She pulled away, suddenly realizing that she was not hiding the intensity of her emotions. “Sorry, um… I am Mantis. I am friends with your brother. He thinks you’re dead! He thinks that Thanos…” Mantis briefly wrapped a hand around her throat. “You know.” The memory was probably not pleasant, so she did not go into detail. “Why are you posing as Thor? Is it to hide from Thanos? He’s dead! You’re safe, Loki. Come on, show yourself!” Mantis knew what Loki looked like; she had seen him in Thor’s memories. But she still wanted to actually see him, just because she was so happy Thor had some family left. She would have liked to meet Thor’s loved ones, and now she had the chance to meet his brother. But… the man in front of her did not change appearance. “Loki… Don’t be afraid. Show yourself,” she repeated softly. “I’ll help you reunite with Thor. He misses you.”
(LOL, I’m sorry but since you mentioned how Mantis could react meeting Basch since he looks like Thor, I had to let them meet just to see what she would do and I’m- 😭 She greeted him as two different people. That’s my girl!)
__________
{OMGGG! XD Okay but this is honestly so sad, like… Poor Mantis got so happy thinking she’d found Loki and how happy Thor was going to be. T^T. Thanks for that punch to the gut, my feels are not thanking you right now, haha. Basch is so confused but is also like…. hmm, very awkward and I’m about to disappoint this person big time, heh. Also, lol Mantis just throwing greetings at the wall to see which one sticks, I’m dying. XD But seriously I’m here like… Basch needs a new team… Mantis has a team……. *starts mushing them together* TEAM UP! XD}
Basch had returned from the Blip to find Noah five years older still than he. After the past five thousand, one might have thought a mere five would be nothing, but to have his brother returned to him only to see him disintegrate and cease to exist… well, Noah had not taken it well. After having acclimated as best he could to a world most unfamiliar, finding out that Ashelia had suffered his same fate of waking up in a completely different time and world, and discovering that Noah had survived – in a manner of speaking – for five millennia while they were frozen by magic, Basch had then faced a threat that made most in Ivalice seem… minor at best. Thanos, a great tyrant with designs on thinning out the universe’s population for misguided and decidedly psychopathic reasons, had actually succeeded in doing so. The result was that Basch was promptly dusted.
Five years later, Ashelia was living in New York City, in an apartment Noah had helped her obtain. The Avengers… were no more. Several of their members were dead or otherwise gone forever, while others retired or moved on to other things. Suddenly Basch found himself without purpose, employment, or authority to serve the public. He was… quite lost. The process of placing him with another team like the Avengers was slow and as-of-yet unfruitful, partly due to the lack of availability of such teams but partly because the Blip’s reversal had caused its own special sort of chaos that people were struggling to come to terms with.
Without the strong sense of purpose Basch had always carried with him, his mental health suffered. He tried not to let it show, especially to Ashelia and Noah, who were both happy to have him back, inasmuch as either one of them chose to let their guards down to emote as much. If he could survive two years in Nalbina dungeon, he could get through this. He refused to burden them with his own struggles. Ashelia had grown older, more independent, and yet more acclimated to this world she lived in now, and for that Basch was grateful in part to Noah. He had helped the young woman in Basch’s absence, and since he was used to this time period, probably more than Basch could ever had helped her even if he had lived through the Blip. He felt almost… unneeded. Extraneous.
Nevertheless, that did not make him lazy. He was keen to find work as soon as possible, but never imagined it would take this long. On one of his frequent outings into the city to look for some sort of appropriate employment, Basch was suddenly accosted by a woman who most definitely was not human. This… was actually uplifting to see. Ivalice, and certainly Dalmasca, had been a melting pot of various races, but upon arriving in this time, in this world… Basch found only Humes. He never realized how much he valued diversity until there was none. But seeing this being gave him hope that non-human races did exist still in the world, beyond those few created by Humes, such as The Vision had been.
Before he could otherwise react to her or greet her himself, though, she was all but launching herself at him. Basch… was not used to people reacting thusly to him. The first hug had been a shock. The second… had been utterly bewildering. He kept his arms from her, not wishing to touch her in any inappropriate fashion, while wondering what exactly was going on. As she spoke, he began to see where the confusion lay, and his heart sank.
“My good woman,” he said very gently, “I am deeply sorry if you have confused me with a lost loved one, but… I assure you my name is Basch, not Thor. And my brother’s name is Noah, not Loki. I have heard of Thor, however. I am told our countenances are somewhat similar, but alas, I am not he. I pray you, forgive the confusion.” Although he spoke the language well enough for anyone in NYC to understand him, his accent was not American. Or European. Or… quite like anything on Earth, currently. It was Dalmascan, decidedly, with a bit of lingering Landisian, and both lands had been lost long ago, five thousand years in the past.
Tumblr media
“Are you in need of assistance, good lady?” he asked with respectful politeness, still a public servant even without a formal title. “Are you looking for a particular location?” Or person, he almost added, but… it was clear that she had wished he’d been someone else. That made his heart ache quite a bit. To think that he had given her false hope of finding someone she had thought deceased, was not any sort of pain he wished to cause anyone, even if he did not know them. “I will assist you however I can,” he offered kindly, hoping to perhaps smooth over some of the confusion and help her achieve whatever task she came to this city to perform.

Tumblr media
You’re standing next to Natasha when the brothers drop down from the sky in their rainbow elevator thing. Thor called it the bifrost? It wasn’t something Loki had talked about when you had been on speaking terms, he must have not found it important enough.
The brothers landed outside on Stark’s glorified patio, 91 floors up. You almost forget to breathe as you look at Loki. His hair is a little longer now, he’s definitely lost some weight, and the bags under his eyes tell you enough. His face is cold as he looks around and, angrily, lets Thor lead him inside where you all stand in various places waiting on them. You note that both the brothers are dressed casually but it’s still a bit much, Earth wise.
You swallow as Loki first sees Tony and smirks at him, “Seems I won’t be missing that drink you promised?”
Tony gave him a once over then shrugged. “I guess you deserve a small break. Thor filled me in on what’s been going on.” Tony said, you thought you could hear a hint of a threat lacing his words though. Loki huffed and rolled his eyes looking at the rest of the team before his eyes landed on you.
You looked into his eyes for what felt like hours but must have only been seconds. The angry look he had been parading in dropped and you saw a flurry of reactions so quick everyone else would miss it but you knew Loki. You try your best to keep your face disinterested, not quite sure if you succeed. Still a bit hurt he told you to never come back coming to the front of your mind you look away and whisper to Nat, “I gotta go, fill me in on what happens.” Then you rush out.
You hear Tony saying, “You already scared off y/n..” as you left the room.
You basically run to your room and slam the door shut. Your breathing had started becoming haggard on your way up and only intensified as you closed yourself in your room. Both your hands gripped at your hair and pull, your eyes squeezed shut, tight. You shouldn’t be reacting like this it was Loki, it was just Loki. He wouldn’t hurt you, physically. You had thought that you were over whatever heartbreak you had all those years before. How the fuck were you to function normally around him if just one look at him made you this panicky? Made your heart beat so hard you thought it might break out of your ribs. Made you want to cry deliriously happy and sad at the same time.
You let go of your hair, let your tears fall, and punched the wall a few times, hoping the pain in your hands would ground you. Luckily, it did, but you’d probably have to come up with an excuse because your knuckles were blooming dark purple. You took in deep breaths, copying what Loki had taught you to do when you got to worked up, subconsciously, the thought of him causing you to freak a bit more but then you just focused on breathing.
It’s a few hours later when Natasha comes to your room and tells you dinner is ready. You had settled and had a book open in your lap as you sat on your bed. You consider skipping dinner and you’re about to say it when you see the look Natasha is giving you. She had been the one to teach you to over come your fears, to face them head on. She probably thought you were scared of Loki because he had tried to take over the world. Oh, how wrong she was. You nodded and told her you were gonna wear something else. She left you in peace and you sighed, rubbing a hand over your face then putting on your brave face and getting dressed in something casual. A simple t-shirt and jeans would suffice.
When you entered the dinning room, a floor below yours, everyone was seated. Natasha had left you a seat. Right next to Loki. You swallowed and studiously kept your eyes anywhere but on Loki when you sat down. You realized Loki was very tense when you sat next to him but said nothing on the matter.
“Brother! This is dear Y/n I mentioned, she’s got a quick wit just like you, I’m sure you both will be the best of friends!”
You smiled at Thor but it probably came off as more of a grimace because Thor gave you a frown. Loki said nothing and focused on eating his food. The whole table got silent realizing something was up between you and Loki. You cleared your throat and tried to sooth things over by looking at Loki. His eyes caught yours and for a second you got lost in them, again. God, get ahold of yourself!
Mentally shaking your head you plastered a smile on and said, “Nice to meet you, Loki, I can’t wait to get to know you.” You finish lamely then quickly look at your food and begin stuffing your face so you wouldn’t have to speak anymore.
“Riiiiiight.” Tony said eyeing you and Loki suspiciously. Steve sat next to him frowning at your attitude. You missed the silent conversation Natasha and Clint had.
“You’re going to choke if you continue to eat like a bilge snipe that hasn’t seen food in weeks.” Loki said in a casual voice.
You choke. You swallow what is in your mouth, Natasha hitting your back a few times, and then you laugh.
God you missed Loki.
“Remember when you swallowed that moon berr-” Stopping yourself short you swallowed and closed your eyes, last seeing Loki’s happy look turn into a neutral face as he glances around at the team. Damn.
“Remember? You two know each other?” Natasha asked, nudging you with her elbow. Thankfully you see she reserves her judgement on the situation.
Sighing you look at the team and set your utensils down.
“Loki is...” You shot Loki a confused look as if to ask if you still were but shook your head and continued on looking at Nat primarily, “We’re soulmates. I first met Loki when I was 13 years old.”
“In person?” Steve asked.
“No, I can astral project my spirit but because I’m his soulmate it wasn’t hard it just kind of happened when I needed him most.”
You picked up your glass of water, noticing you are shaking a bit. You especially tried not to jump when you felt Loki set a comforting hand on your thigh under the table. Taking a drink you looked at the table, took a deep breath, then let your eyes come back up to the confused team.
“When you needed him most?” Tony asked after a few minutes of silence.
Looking at Tony you bit your lip. Should you....
“My grandfather killed my grandmother in front of me when I was 13, I hid in my closet and closed my eyes, when I opened them I was in a room in Asgard.”
“She was in one of my mental rooms that I use to astral project. A fabricated room I made when I was younger.” Loki said, his eyes only on you.
“He was always there when something bad happened and we became best friends. I was 17 when I realized I had magic, his magic.” You said looking at Nat who looked confused. “Because we’re connected through our mind and soul, I draw my power from him. The powers I have are Loki’s in a sense but at the same time my own, I can do some things he can’t and vice versa.”
“So if Loki just like, hypothetically, died,” Tony rolled his eyes when Loki glared at him, “Hypothetically! Would you lose your powers?”
You swallowed as a knot formed in your throat and looked at Loki with sad eyes, willing him to answer because you surely didn’t have an answer for that.
“Possibly.” Loki clipped out, sending a glare at Tony, as if damning him for making you think of that preposterous idea.
Tony hummed in thought.
“If you’re soulmates, why did she react the way she did when she first saw you?” Thor asked, mostly aiming the question to Loki. Loki looked at Thor, angry, then let out a breath and held his chin high.
“We had a falling out three years ago.”
“No doubt your fault?” Thor said causing Loki to nod once with a roll of his eyes.
“No!” You yelled looking at Loki with exasperation. “I’m the one that chose to leave!”
“I’m the one that gave you an ultimatum.” Loki ground out, frowning at you.
“You were trying to keep me safe.” You said causing Loki to scoff.
“Ok, wait, what happened so we can all choose our sides respectfully here?” Clint asked.
“Shield found out about my powers when I was 17, said once I turn 18 they can give me an offer I can’t refuse. I could work for them. Loki said not to do it because it sounded like they were gonna use me as a weapon, that we knew nothing about Shield and what it stood for,” You sighed and pinched the bridge of your nose with closed eyes, “I told him I was gonna take up their offer considering I had a bad home life, he argued Shield could be more dangerous and I told him I was still gonna take the offer anyways so he offered an ultimatum.” Letting your hand fall down to your lap and over Loki’s, still resting on your lap. You softly caressed his knuckles under the table. When you had closed your eyes, to pinch your bridge, you missed the concerned look Loki gave as he saw the violet bruises on your knuckles.
“He said if I leave to never come back because he wouldn’t be able to watch me get hurt.”
Tony breathed through his teeth, a hiss, but otherwise everyone stayed silent.
“I left.” You finished lamely.
The table stayed silent for awhile, everyone gathering their thoughts and questions, until Steve spoke up.
“After she left, what did you do Loki?”
“I had Heimdal watch over her-”
“He is all seeing.” Thor said quickly to help out.
“-and I told him that if she were to find any trouble she could not handle to send me to her.”
You looked up at Loki, shocked, who zealously kept his eyes on Steve. You offered what comfort you could by grasping his hand and squeezing. You smiled inwardly as Loki’s tense form softened slightly.
“I’m taking it she never ran into trouble she couldn’t handle.” Steve said, more as a statement than a question.
“From what Heimdal has told me, joining Shield is the best thing to happen to her and I almost stopped that.”
“You couldn’t have known.” You said quietly, frowning in thought, Loki finally looked down at you and your heart almost broke in half at the hurt in his eyes.
“All you wanted was the best for me and I’m sorry I left,” You looked down and squeezing his hand before looking back up at his eyes, “I’m sorry I left and never tried to reach you again but I’m not sorry about the decision I made.”
Loki looked at you for a bit then nodded, satisfied with something he found on your face or possibly in your eyes. “I’m sorry I never tried to reach out to you too.” Loki admitted.
You glanced at Thor who sat next to Loki, looking a little put out he never knew about the both of you.
“Sorry we didn’t tell you Thor I kind of wanted to keep it a secret because I was going through a lot and wasn’t very trusting of strangers at the time.” You said to placate Thor, making the blame fall on you instead of Loki since their relationship was already rocky to begin with. A minor way you could apologize to Loki about not contacting him.
Thor smiled, genuinely, then said “I’m just happy to make your acquaintance now, y/n.”
Everyone went back to eating their almost cold meal now. Natasha and Clint the only ones that noted that you and Loki ate with one hand the entire time.
Conversations flowed between the team smoothly like you all were meant to be there, together. No one made any comments on the fact that you and Loki couldn’t keep your eyes off each other the entire time either.

loki being madly in love with you but he doesn’t know how to show it besides seggs so he fucks you within an inch of ur life and then ur like “k see u later😁” and he’s like “wait…can we cuddle🥺” and ur like “?????” and he’s forced to actually articulate his feelings for once (but it works out in the long run🙄)
Thank you so much for sending this in! This is so so so very late and I’m very sorry for that. This had been just chilling around in my drafts for months now. I hope you like this!
MINORS DNI
petals of rose
summary || Loki’s madly in love with you but he knows only one way to show it — by fucking you.
~~~
“She loves me… She loves me not…. She loves me…. She loves me not… She loves me…” Loki plucks the rose petal and throws it down on the bed which is already piled up with the red petals.
He had already tried with two previous roses, but they both ended with ‘she loves me not’. So he started trying once again. He hoped this would end with ‘she loves me’.
“Brother, don’t you think it’s a better idea to just tell her?” Thor was playing the role of the logical brother for the first time. “Yeah. And what if she rejects me?” Loki scoffed.
“What if she says yes?” Thor said taking in the mess of petals. “… she loves me not!… brother do you see this? This is third time it ended with ‘she loves me not.’ That means she doesn’t love me… so it’s better the way it is!” Loki said shredding the last petal.
“Oh come on! These games don’t mean anything. How would this rose know what she feels?” Loki squinted up at his brother, “You… I… Shut up! You won’t get it brother!”
Loki didn’t want to accept, but Thor was right. Those rose petals meant nothing. You might actually love him, right? Unable to clear the mess of emotions, he stormed out of the room.
~~~
“Oh fuck!” Your scream was muffled by the pillow your head was pressed in. Loki’s hand was holding down your nape as he rammed into you from behind.
His long veiny cock was deliciously rubbing your quivering walls. Your hands clutched the bedsheets tightly as he started flicking your clit.
Loki loved your profusely. But he was convinced that you didn’t reciprocate it. So he took it out the best way he knew, he fucked you, hard.
It had started at randomly when you had just kissed him impulsively and had ended up in his bed. You both regularly found yourselves tangled in the bed and then pretended to hate each other in front of the team.
“You love this, don’t you? Fucking your enemy. Now that’s not what good girls do. You filthy fucking whore.” His words were driving you crazy.
“You act all heroic in front of others, but this is just what you’re good for. All it takes for you to shut up is to fucking impale you on my cock.”
You were out of breath and tears were running down your eyes. It was all so pleasurable, you never wanted it to stop. “Loki! I’m… I’m going to cum.” Your voice was breaking with each of his powerful thrusts.
“Cum for me.” Hearing this in his thick voice was all it too for you to cum. “I can feel your cunt squeezing me so good. Yeah, milk me just like that.”
Feeling your walls convulse around him, it didn’t take much for Loki to join you soon. You writhed on the bed when you felt him fill his hot cum deep inside you.
Your sweaty sticky bodies just fell down on the bed as you both panted for breath. You both grunted as Loki removed himself and you felt a trickle of cum gush out of you. “Tha… that was good.” You said in a half dazed state.
“Hmmm…” Loki hummed in reply as he took in your wrecked form. There was just a sick kind of happiness in seeing you all fucked out just because of him.
You rolled over your back and almost got up to collect your clothes and leave his room when his hand shot up to stop you. “Wait…. Can you stay a little more.”
Loki wanted to ask for cuddles but he was too proud to say it aloud. But you were on a completely different page, “Loki I’m very tired and sore. I don’t think I can go another round.”
“No! Not another round,… just you know, laying besides each other. Umm,, can we cuddle? I mean that’s the correct word, right?” He asked awkwardly scratching his nape.
“Sure!” You excitedly jumped back into the bed and wrapped yourself around Loki. Seeing your enthusiasm somewhat confused Loki. “You’re… you’re okay with this?” He asked quizzically.
“Of course I am! I’m okay with spending a lot more time with you. But turns out I’m not the one spending their time fucking people from all over the galaxy.”
“Wait! I haven’t been with anyone else!” Loki defended himself. And it was true. Why would he be with someone else when he had you. “Really?”
It was that moment that the realisation struck both of you like a train coming at full speed. “Loki, I want you to be honest. Do you want more out of this..” you pointed towards each other, “… arrangement?”
“Yeah.” His breath left his lungs when you asked him. “Yeah I want more. A lot more out of this. Do you though?”
“Yes Loki. Why do you think I agreed to be friends with benefits with you?” You asked as you straddled him. “Because I have a big cock and I fuck better than anyone else in this whole universe?”
You rolled your eyes and smacked Loki’s chest. “Will you just stop that for like a moment. I mean yes, I did agree because you’re good in bed but the main reason was that I like you do damn much.” Loki’s eyes lit up brighter than you had seen them.
“I like you too. Like a lot… so much that I love you.” It didn’t feel as bad as he had expected when he say the way your lips stretched into a wide smile. “Oh my god Loki! I love you too.”
You kissed him again and this time it wasn’t passionate or rough, rather it was sweet and soft. Almost like an unsaid love confession. “God, I can’t wait to tell everyone.”
Well, Loki had already told about you to all the people that mattered in his life, his mother and his brother. What could he say? He got a bit excited one day. But yeah, he couldn’t wait to take you to Asgard.

yes, mr. president
Tumblr media
pairing: President!Loki x f!reader
warning: 18+ unprotected sex, office sex, oral (male receiving), slight degradation, rough sex, etc.
summary: Being a part of President Loki’s reelection campaign, you never thought that you'd get the chance to be with him in his office. Alone. pre-Nexxus Event (for Pres. Loki)
words: 2.6k+
You smoothed down your skirt as you tried to hurry down the hallway. Everyone was working around you giving the feeling of chaos as everyone scrambled to finish the day's work. It seemed as Election Day drew closer and closer the office became more and more intense. You thought that it would be fun to join President Loki's campaign team as he worked for reelection.
When one of the assistants came up to your small cubicle desk and said that Loki wanted to see you in his office immediately, you felt your stomach drop. Instantly you thought that it was something bad. You'd only met the man a handful of times, and each time you were both intrigued by him and scared of him. The moment Loki walked into a room he commanded it and everyone paid attention.
Your heart raced against your chest as your mind raced through the possibilities of what he wants to see you for. You walked to the end of the hallway and stood in front of the double doors that lead into his office, two servicemen standing on either side. Showing no emotion, unmoving. You took a few deep breaths before reaching up to knock on the door. But before your knuckles could meet the wood, the door swung open and revealed the office behind it.
Slowly you stepped into the office and the door shut tightly behind you, the sound of the lock clicking cutting through the silence of the room. Leaning against the front of his desk dressed in a well-fitted suit was Loki. Your eyes scanned over his body slowly taking in every inch and detail of his tall frame. Even leaning against the desk he still loomed over you. His long dark hair was pushed back from his face, his golden horns perfectly placed upon his head and coming down along his cheekbones. Making them look sharper than they already are. You couldn't tell from the look that was on his face if he was either happy to see you, or ready to tear into you.
"Y-You wanted to see me, President Laufeyson?" You spoke, trying to come off confident as you stood in front of him.
"What is your name, darling?" His deep voice seemed to send a shiver down your spine in a moment. It was something that you never got used to. You spoke your name softly to him, a smirk coming across his lips.
Loki pushed off from the desk and took a few steps towards you. As his eyes traveled along your body you thought for a moment he could see through your clothing. See every inch of you. Your heart raced against your chest as you stood there still, Loki disappearing behind your shoulder. Soon his body pressed against your back and you were able to feel the heat of his body against yours.
"I've admired you for a while," He spoke into your ear, another shiver moving through you. Your name leaving his lips in a way that sounded sinful. "You've been with the campaign team for a while, and I've seen you standing in the background like a good little pet."
"I-I..." You turned to look over your shoulder towards him, "I'm sorry? What?"
Loki smirked and moved back around slowly till he was standing back in front of you. His tall, lean frame looming over you as the mischievous smirk seemed to spread across his face slowly.
"You'll do perfectly," Loki spoke
"P-Perfect for what? Am I in trouble?"
"Far from it," Loki turned and walked towards his desk and moved around it slowly before taking a seat in his chair. "I have an offer for you, not really an offer. But a request, pet."
"Yes, sir?"
That seemed to only cause the glint in Loki's eyes to grow more.
"Come here,"
He rose his hand slowly and used two fingers to beckon you forth. Immediately it was like your body knew the command and moved towards him. Loki kept his eyes lock on yours as you swiftly moved across his office, around the desk, and towards him. You stopped right in front of him, Loki turning his chair towards you. Slowly he parted his knees and patted the top of his thigh, cocking his brow towards you in a silent direction.
You hesitated for only a moment before moving between his thighs and taking a seat on his lap. Loki pulled you closer to him and seemed to growl slightly as your body pressed against his. You were able to be enveloped by the warm scent that came from him the moment you came closer. It drew you closer and made you feel your arousal pool between your legs. There was no denying that Loki was incredibly handsome.
His hand moved along your exposed leg as your skirt seemed to move up as you sat on his lap. Your legs seemed to slowly part for him as Loki's hands seemed to travel up slowly.
"Are you devoted to me?" Loki asked, his hand caressing your thigh slowly it was making your heart race and feeling an ache build. Your body was reacting to him intensely and it both excited and scared you.
"Of c-course, sir." You spoke with a shakiness to your voice now, moving your gaze from his hand to his face.
"And you would do anything for me? Wouldn't you?"
Slowly you nodded your head.
"Then I have an offer for you. For you to simply be mine."
"Yours?"
That mischievous smirk was back on his face, you felt yourself clench between your legs needing some sort of relief. "Yes, mine. You would solely be here to serve me in any way that I see fit. Wouldn't a follower such as yourself love nothing more than to serve their master?"
Deep down you knew the words he spoke were true. You wanted that. To serve this man however he wanted you to.
"Your body would be mine, and whenever I want you, you would be there to offer yourself to me." His fingers teased along with the fabric, teasing your slit through it and moaning when he felt how wet you were for him. "Soaked already?"
You stammered slightly but it soon changed into a whimper as his fingers pressed against your clit and slowly teased you through your underwear.
"I can practically smell you, pet," Loki spoke with a slight growl. "How I want to taste you," You gasped softly and moaned as he pressed against you more. You spread your legs for him, your leg brushing against his hardening cock. "You would like that wouldn't you?"
He paused, "Another time. Must see first if you are worthy enough for me. Even though something tells me that you will."
Loki's hand pulled away from between your legs causing you to whimper softly from the loss.
"On your knees." You moved quickly between his thighs on the floor, kneeling before him and looking up through your lashes. "Good girl,"
Loki moved to unbuckle his trousers, pushing them down enough to free his cock. You couldn't help the small gasp that came from you as he fully came into view. You felt your mouth water at the sight of him. His larger hand wrapped around the base of his hard cock, precum slowly dripping along his length, begging for your tongue to taste him. Your hands caressed his thighs slowly as you suddenly became eager to feel the weight of his cock against your tongue.
"Do you want me?" He moaned your name at the end, making you draw your eyes back towards his face. You nodded your head and gripped tighter to his thigh slightly. "Open up."
You opened your mouth for him as he threaded his long fingers through your hair and pulled you forward. You moaned at the taste of him against your tongue, eager to please him, loving the deep moan that came from him as you wrapped your lips around his cock. Your hand replaced his at his base, stroking what couldn't fit in your mouth. Slowly you began to bob your head up and down his length, moving faster the more accustomed you came to him down your throat. He seemed to be pleased any time he heard you gag around him slightly, his hips moving up to meet with your movements.
"Yes, such a pretty thing with your lips wrapped around me," Loki moaned and gripped tighter to your hair. "Look up at me, keep those eyes on me, pet."
You moaned around him and did exactly as he asked. Watching his face as you pleased him, trying to draw out every noise you could. You wanted to please him, to be his and only his. Loki tapped into a side of you that had been sitting dormant and waiting for someone to serve.
It didn't take long before Loki was fucking your throat, holding your head down as he fucked into your throat. You could feel his cock twitch in your mouth every time he made you gag. The heady taste of his precum along with your tongue and slowly dripping from your mouth along with your saliva. He was making a mess of you, something he wanted. Loki pulled from your mouth with a gasp, a mixture of his salvia and precum dripping down along your chin and towards your chest.
His cock bobbed in front of you and you wanted nothing more than to have him back in your mouth. But instead, he stood from his chair and quickly began to remove his suit.
"Strip, slut." Loki ordered. You moved into action quickly and stripped out of your blouse and skirt, throwing them to the side along with your bra and underwear. You went to kick off your heels when he quickly stopped you. "The heels stay on."
He moved towards you and grabbed your neck before pulling you tightly to him, bending down and kissing you deeply. His tongue moved against yours before winning dominance in the kiss almost immediately. Loki could taste a bit of himself on your tongue and it turned him even more. His cock was hard and aching for you, needing to feel your pussy tight around his cock.
Loki lifted you onto his desk, spreading your legs wide for him. He bent his head down to press his tongue against your slit. You couldn't control the noise that left you the moment he sucked on your clit. You jumped slightly and rose on your elbows to look down and watch him. Loki moaned against you as his tongue worked against your slit, taking in every drop that you gave him.
"L-Loki," You moaned, wanting to reach down and pull at his long, dark curls but the horns slightly in your way.
Loki pulled back from between your legs and glared down towards you, the darkness behind his eyes that made you freeze for a moment in fear.
"What did you just call me?" He spoke, his deep voice once again pulling you in and making you afraid at the same time. "You are to call me master, or sir. Nothing else unless I permit you. Understand?"
"Yes, I-I'm sorry..." You spoke, Loki cocking his brow towards you. "Sir,"
The smirk was back, "Good girl."
You fell back against the desk and let out a wanton moan as his fingers worked against you.
"Such a perfect little pussy for me, so eager." Loki licked his lips as he watched over you. Loving how your body reacted to him. "Never have tasted anything so sweet."
You could feel the need to cum slowly start to build, your legs shaking slightly as you withered beneath him. But just as you felt yourself start to fall apart beneath him, Loki pulled away and brought his fingers to his lips and sucked on them. You wanted that image imprinted on your mind forever. There was a hunger in Loki's eyes as he stared down towards you, seeing the slight mess that he was making out of you. He wanted more. He needed more.
His hand moved down to his cock and slowly stroked it as he looked over you, seeing the same hunger he felt within himself reflect in your eyes.
"Beg for it, slut." Loki ordered, moving towards to slowly tease your slit with the head of his cock. "Beg for me to fuck you."
"Please, please sir...I need to feel you deep inside of me. Fuck me. Fuck me and make me yours."
Your hand traveled down your body slowly as you begged, teasing yourself and even wrapping your hand around him and stroking his cock slowly. Loki grabbed one of your legs and pulled you down to the edge, before placing it along his shoulder. You were opened wide for him, exactly how he wanted you.
Loki thrust into you hard and nearly with no mercy, the two of you moaning at the connection. He stretched you with ache and pain that only made you clench around him and pull him in deeper. You were dripping along his cock causing an erotic sound to come from between you both. You reached to grip something on the desk as he fucked into you. You are panting and moaning beneath him as he took full control of your body. The moans, whimpers, and growls coming from the two of you mixed with the erotic nose of your bodies moving against each other.
Loki's grip around your thigh moved down to your throat, his pace becoming more erratic and harder. Loki was lost in the feeling of you wrapped around him. It was like with every thrust you were pulling him deeper into you, pulsing and clenching around him sweetly.
"You gonna cum for me? Hmmm, gonna cum like a whore for my cock?" Loki tightened his grip on your throat.
"Y-Yes...please...please make me cum sir. Please."
"Give it to me. Scream for your master so everyone knows who's fucking you."
Your moan built louder and louder, not caring if everyone outside his office could hear you. The feeling taking over your body was too much, your entire body trembling beneath him. You were a babbling moaning mess, clearly fucked out, beneath Loki. He loved it.
Your back arched and you screamed his name as you came around him. You reached up and gripped his arm with your nails digging into his skin slightly.  Loki let himself go and spilled his cum deep inside of you, grinding his hips into you, making sure every drop was deep inside of you. You could feel him cum inside of you and that only made you cum harder.
"That is, take every drop of my cum...god, such an eager little slut." Loki panted, leaning over you and supporting himself with his hands planted on either side of you. "Mmm, this pussy is perfection."
Loki slowly pulled out and moaned as he watched his cock pull out of you, both your arousal and his cum nearly dripping off his cock. He sat back on his office chair and watched as his cum slowly dripped from your pussy. You felt like you couldn't move, every bit of energy left your body.
"Yes, you'll do perfectly." Loki sighed as he sat in the seat, you sat up and looked towards him. Mascara running down your cheeks, hair a mess and clearly fucked out of your mind.
"Now come and clean the mess you created, pet."
You eagerly dropped to your knees and between his legs, looking up to him through your lashes "Yes, Mr. President."
This is my first Loki piece, so please be kind. I hope you liked, would love to know your thoughts.
We only got him for 50 seconds, but president Loki does something for me and I love it.

Hi, how are you? How would Thor, Bucky and Pietro comfort their S/O after a nightmare?
This happened to me this night, I had a bad dream and I started to read fan fiction to calm down 😂
Tumblr media
[Warnings: Yandere Themes *Obviously*, Nightmares, descriptions of nightmares, mentions of death but no actual death.]
Bucky-
Bucky is no stranger to nightmares, in fact they are a constant presence in his life ever since he was broken from his Winter Soldier programming.
So he instantly knows what is going on when he awakes to you whimpering in your sleep, thrashing slightly from side to side.
Gently he shakes your shoulder, waking you up completely startled until you see his concerned face looking back at you calming you down a little.
Soothingly rubbing your back telling you that it was okay, that you were safe and with him not where you were in your mind.
His very heart breaking when you throw yourself at him, sobbing into his bare chest needing to be grounded even more.
Holding you close to him while you let out your emotions from the torture you had endured during your subconscious state.
Eventually you are just sniffling, the tears have dried despite staining your cheeks, still holding onto him but not as roughly as before.
Breaking the comfortable silence between you he will ask if you want to talk about it, knowing that sometimes it helps him feel better.
Nodding lightly you began telling him about how you were on a mission with the team, and everything was going wrong.
Left and right everyone was dropping, until you were the only one still standing and fighting, even you were losing steam.
Having to watch as each of your friends were murdered in front of your very eyes, unable to help them without ending up the same way.
Tears began to fill your eyes again as you went on, telling him how you had been searching everywhere for him but you couldn’t find him.
When you finally located him you watched as he was taken down by a huge group of HYDRA agents, his anguished screams tearing you apart limb from limb.
Thankfully Bucky had woken you up before you were ambushed in the dreamscape, at least affording you a little bit of solace.
Wiping your eyes for you with a Kleenex he frowned at how seriously this vision had affected you, wishing that he could have taken it for you.
Reassuring you that he was fine, and that all of your teammates/friends were alright, that it was just a nightmare.
All of you were trained on a regular weekly basis, you had evacuation plans for if you were to be in a situation like that, and recon almost always had the accurate intel for what you were to be expecting.
Wrapping your arms around his neck, embracing him and thanking him for being there for you through this, telling him that he didn’t have to do it.
Scoffing he will roll his eyes playfully at you and explain that it was his job to make sure that you were safe and happy and he took his job damn seriously.
Glad when his words and actions made you laugh, wanting nothing more than to cheer you up so you could at some point lay back down for a more peaceful slumber.
Quietly you asked him if he could turn the television on and play one of your favorite shows as it usually helped you to sleep when you were having issues.
Chuckling a little he put it on for you, laying back opening his arms so that you could come cuddle close to him.
Laying your head on his chest, the sound in the background mixed with the rhythmic beating of his heart lulling you to sleep once more.
Bucky smiled as he watched you find your comfort in him, keeping his right arm tightly around you as his left pushed your hair out of your face.
So he could truly look at you to make sure you felt no discomfort, forgoing his own sleep to ensure you were sound the rest of the night.
Tumblr media
Thor-
Thor didn’t really have nightmares, but he was used to helping Loki with his when they were younger, not so much now that they were adults obviously.
So when you awoke with a scream breaking him from his own dreaming he was immediately worried about you.
Asking what was wrong, although he was pretty sure he already knew the answer judging by the horrified look on your face.
Sitting up, matching your position he notices pretty quickly that you are hyperventilating and not getting enough oxygen to make a difference.
Slowly he will speak to you, not touching you just yet because he didn’t want you to think that he was attacking you in any way, not sure if you were back in this reality yet.
Telling you that he is right there, that you are in your bedroom with him, and that whatever had been happening in your mind was a fallacy, you were safe.
Instructing you to take big breaths, understanding you were about to send yourself into a full blown panic attack if you didn’t calm down some.
Using his own breathing as a guide for you, placing your hand on his bare chest so you could feel his ministrations making you look at him as he took the dramatized action.
After a few minutes you were able to breathe normally, keeping your hand on him as if when you took it off you would be right back in the terror you had been experiencing not even 20 minutes earlier.
Pulling you into his lap, letting you keep holding onto him as he rubbed your back in small circles, his large hands and massive strength making it feel nearly like a massage in a way.
Softly asking you if you wanted to talk about what had scared you so badly, wanting to help you in any way he could, even if it was just listening to what you had to say.
Thinking for a moment you debated it before beginning to speak about your experience during your unrestful slumber.
Explaining how you started out walking through the castle in the dream like it was a normal everyday dream someone would have, until it wasn’t.
Everywhere you turned just led you back to the place you were before, hallways that were typically short were now miles long, never gaining any ground.
At one point you heard someone cackling at your frustration, the noise surrounding you not giving you any indication of where it was actually coming from.
Causing you to circle your position trying to catch a glimpse of the person who was clearly making this happen, but not finding another soul in the area.
Continuing to try and find the way out of the giant maze you were trapped in, growing more and more anxious as you twisted and turned down different avenues.
All of it began to blur together and you couldn’t remember what paths you had taken and which ones you hadn’t tried yet, starting to drive you absolutely mad.
Once again the cackling was back but it was closer than ever, in fact it had been directly behind you, causing you to whip around only to come face to face with Loki, and he had his scepter back.
Aiming it right for your chest, causing you to wake up screaming because you remembered all too well what that meant, having seen the aftermath of the destruction he had caused in New York years ago.
Hearing that it was his brother who had tormented you so badly hurt his heart, but not as much as you having nightmares about him.
Promising you that Loki would never do something like that ever again, not only that but promising you that he would always protect you if something were to go wrong for any reason.
Pulling you on top of his hulking form, covering you with the blankets, starting to sing a lullaby that his mother used to sing to him and his brother when they were sick or upset for whatever reason.
Rubbing his thumb over your forehead, in long calculated movements, lulling you ever so gently back to sleep, all your thoughts of terror replaced by the calmness he always provided you.
Thor watched over you, thinking about talking to his brother to see if he could help give you pleasant dreams for the next few nights to give you a break from your mind going to extreme places.
Wishing with all of his being that he could have done more for you to prevent you from having to deal with it in the first place, but all he could do is be there for you, and to you it was more than enough.
Tumblr media
[Pietro-
Pietro hated having nightmares, which he didn’t have often as a child but it was far more frequent after everything in Sokovia, including his near death experience.
That is mostly what his night terrors consisted of, reliving that moment over and over again with varying results, meaning sometimes he just didn’t make it.
Not to mention that he would often have to help Wanda when she would have moments of waking up from a dream that enacted the same fear.
When you wake up violently thrashing around the bed, crying and begging for mercy he is instantly awake with you.
Seeing you in such a state will freak him out, not knowing exactly how to handle it but he will try to get your attention as nicely as possible.
However you were fully still immersed in the horrors that you had just seen befall the one you loved most, rocking back and forth.
Grabbing your chin he pulled you to look at him in the eyes, wanting you to see him thinking that maybe that would help.
Thankfully it did as you threw yourself at him, sobbing into his neck grasping his hair tightly in your fist, but not enough to actually cause any pain.
Desperately you were trying to ground yourself, trying to remind yourself that it wasn’t real because clearly he is sitting there right in front of you, holding you, talking to you, trying to comfort you.
Doing his best to not hound you and figure out why you were so out of it, but his patience was wearing thin.
He was the kind of person who wanted to find a solution to a problem to make it all better, but not every problem has a solution that is quick or easy.
Drawing patterns on your skin with his index finger wanting you to focus on that rather than the cacophony of panicked voices going on within your mind.
Stilling at some point in his embrace, no longer were you shaking with fear and nervousness instead just keeping your hold on him.
Finally he asked you what you had experienced, not at all ready to hear the answer that you were about to give.
Barely above a whisper you started to explain that you had dreamt of him not getting up after being shot when fighting Ultron, much the same scenario that he himself feared in his subconscious mind.
Going on to tell him how you held his body, and every ounce of you wanted to join him ready to lay down and die at the same time.
Unable to stop himself from getting choked up as he tightly wound his arms around you pulling you even closer to him as if that were even possible.
Telling you that he is right there, that yes it could have ended up badly but it didn’t and now he was with you, the only place he ever wanted to be.
Laying back with you still in his embrace he began going through some of the happy memories the two of you had since that fateful day.
Only stopping when he noticed your eyes had closed and your breathing had evened out indicating that you finally fell back into slumberland.
In his native language whispering how much he loved you, and how he too would never want to spend a moment without you, but you were never allowed to leave him.
The thought of you telling him that you wanted to die with him was still getting to him, but only because he had never considered how you would have been affected if he had died that day.
All he worried about at the time was the task at hand, in fact he didn’t even think that he would get injured in the first place, humbled by the entire situation.
Once again he sat humbled by the realization that you had to witness the whole thing, and how could he possibly not think about your feelings on the matter.
Reminding himself to do better by you, to make sure you knew how grateful he was for every single day he got to spend with you, making a life out of practically nothing, all because of you.
[I'm sorry you had a nightmare last night darling! I hope that you feel better, and that this helps a little! My inbox is always open if you need someone to talk to! <3]

hi!! adore your work love. could you maybe do smth where stark!reader has to get her wisdom teeth out but HATES the dentist so she brings her boyf peter and her dad w her?? and then when they get home the avengers are all waiting with like comical amounts of flowers and stuffed animals and then reader says some funny shiii and thor thinks she’s like dying lol. idk if that made sense but i’m getting my wisdom teeth out soon and i’m scared😭 thank u so so much love u babe
pairing: peter parker x stark!reader
a/n: tysm lovely :,) i rushed through this like my life depended on it, but i hope i’m not too late. either way, i hope you’re okay! it’s frightening but those bad boys gotta go because we don’t need that kind of energy in our lives. enjoy x
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
wisdom teeth? more like wisdoom
y/n has to get her wisdom teeth removed and it’s the singular most dreadful thing she’s ever had to do, which says a lot because her dad is tony richling stark
doing dreadful things she doesn’t want to do but still somehow end up doing just because she can is a personality trait at this point
no one really makes a big deal out of it since ~death~ is part of their job description, but y/n is terrified
and when a stark is terrified the only thing that will keep them one step from insanity is researching the hell out of it
that information will be info dumped into every conversation for the next few weeks leading up to the appointment
“y/n you need anything from the store? "no thanks, did you know the side effects of getting your wisdom teeth out include ✨sudden death or blood clots✨ tho” “……..i have a coupon?”
the day of the appointment, peter comes along and literally doesn’t let go of y/n’s hand. he keeps touching her to let her know that he’s there and it’s so. adorable
he would rest his hand on her knee, gently stroke her back while holding her, or just play with her hair
happy drops them off and he’s too Cool™ for emotions but he knows y/n’s a wreck, so he just fist bumps her with a single nod and she almost breaks down bc it’s really affectionate
y/n is sitting in the dentist chair and genuinely nothing is happening yet, but she’s squeezing peter’s hand like it’s a sponge
peter might have a high pain tolerance but he’s in pain pain and he prays that his hand won’t just explode on him
the dentist notices how peter tries to keep it together and chuckles
“you okay there, son?” “yea it’s fine, had a better time when a building fell on me tho haha” “pardon?” “oh i mean i didn’t have a good time, i just had a better time”
because y/n is running Anxious Town™, the dentist gives her a sedative to help her relax
plus, an injection of local anaesthetic to numb the tooth and surrounding area
she doesn’t feel anything and it’s GREAT
the procedure is quicker than expected and now the real fun begins
she tries to walk but she falls down so peter scoops her up bridal style and happy stays glued at her side
y/n doesn’t mind although she literally doesn’t recognise them and they’re practically strangers to her
but girly sees an opportunity and tries to flirt with peter bc why wouldn’t she
“you’re pretty” *blushes* “why thanks” “you should let your girlfriend know” “i should let her know i’m pretty?” “so you do have a gf? :(” “yea it’s you” “:)”
they stop for gas and peter goes in to get some water for y/n, and in her infinite wisdom, she decides it’s burger time
her mouth is completely numb and she’s practically leaving a trail of drool behind her, but she’d kill for a burger right now
so she wobbles around aimlessly for an hour on some random parking lot as if the ground might just magically open up like a rabbit hole and lead her to five guys
she’s going places. not back to the car. definitely not five guys. they’re closed. but places
peter finally finds her and he’s drenched from head to toe in sweat. he doEsn’T wAnt tO tALk abOut iT tho so she lets him take her to subway instead
normally, she would know that peter’s usual subway order is bread-lettuce-jalapeño
but in her drugged-up state, it had simply slipped her mind so now she’s staring at him like he’d just murdered someone right in front of her
“that- that’s your order?? no meat or anything just bread, lettuce, and a little spice?”
meanwhile at the compound, sam and steve are ordering everyone around bc they want to decorate this place before y/n gets home to surprise her
they take it very seriously too. they’ve watched like one HGTV show and said it’s our time
they finally get home and tony gives y/n a big hug, asking her what took so long
happy tells him that she was keen on getting burgers bc apparently someone has taught her that stressful times call for ~cheeseburgers~
he proceeds to look at tony with a pointed look
tony just shrugs and goes “she was a problem child. we don’t mention her dark past”
she’s swaying on the spot and keeps grinning like a fool and thor just stares at her weirdly before elbowing bruce and whispering loudly,
“what’s wrong with her? is she dying? should i start collecting leaves, i know this remedy—"
no one can tell if y/n is just happy to see the newly decorated home or if she’s just delighted to see everyone but then she goes around hugging the entire team
she doesn’t even acknowledge the sky-high pile of teddy bears and flowers everywhere bc she’s just squeezing everybody
y/n is so high, she just starts to spill all of her feelings about everyone and they’re already so overwhelmed by the hug chain they can’t take this too
“wanda i just want you to know that you’re like my big sister and you’re always taking care of me and i know you and vision are just going to make such good parents one day”
“bucky you absolute PRICK, you FIEND, you’re the best chess player ever and that’ll never change and i wouldn’t be good without you, i hate to say it but you deserve happiness even after you made me lose five times in a row yesterday”
“dad, you’re so strong and smart, even though we’re like never on the same page, you’re always along for the ride, i want to be like you when i grow up, i swear i’m gonna try to be as good to the avengers as you were to us” “aww- wait makes you think i'll be the first to die“
“nat you’re such a bitch about your protein shakes but you’re my best friend and i wouldn’t have it any other way, you can try out as many make up looks on me as you want”
“bruce, brucey, i would live with you in your lab for the rest of my days if i had to, whenever you ask me to hand you stuff i feel useful and important”
“laura’s way out of your league clint i have no idea how the fuck you got her but don’t lose her and i want to be your next child’s godmother”
“steve…we’re your family now. we’re always gonna be your family now. okay?”
“loki you’re not fooling anyone with your attitude, we all know you’re part of the family, you were just misunderstood and messed up bc of your dad–FUCK him by the way–but i realised everyone deserves as many chances as they need because of you”
“sam i would genuinely kill anyone who wronged you, even if they cut you in line at the grocery store, i would knife them no hesitation”
“thor, you poor golden retriever have been through so much, on my way here i made a wish on an eyelash for you bc you deserve better, your postcards always make my day, love you”
she mumbles something to peter that no one else can hear but he blushes and chokes back a sob
y/n orders hot soup and bucky brings it to her but before he even has time to react peter drops everything and ZOOMS across the room in .3 seconds
he barrels into bucky so hard they both go flying, but peter just smoothly rolls out of it and onto his feet like some kind of super ninja
“DUDE WHAT THE HELL” “😠 y/n is not supposed to drink hot liquids 😠”
all of this happens in mere seconds but sam has filmed it all and now slow mo clips go viral online of some mysterious kid knocking over the winter soldier
y/n’s a little in and out after that, but when she fully regains consciousness, she’s on a pile of blankets, surrounded by the team on the floor <3
* * *
let me know if this is actually comforting lmao stay hydrated pals

breathe with me
warnings: swearing. mentions of anxiety and panic attacks.
word count: 1k
parings/characters: Steve Rogers x reader
a/n: hello everyone! I hope you're all okay.
summary: the reader in this has anxiety and is having a panic attack, Steve comforts them.
Tumblr media
1, 2, 3, 4 - come on just breathe you can do this. Uh pillow, book, blanket. Shit, come on y/n just breathe! 1, 2, 3- none of this fucking works!
"y/n? you in there?" a muffled voice from behind your bedroom door speaks.
You don't have the energy to reply, too busy focusing on steadying your breathing. You begin to pick at the skin around your finger nails, anything to distract yourself from the overwhelming sense of dread filling both your chest and stomach.
You don't get it. A lot of people with anxiety don't. One minute you're fine, relaxed, playing your favourite video game, listening to your favourite music, and then you find yourself on the floor struggling to breathe.
It's often forgot about by others that we are all different. What may make someone hurt for 10 minutes, could hurt another for a lifetime.
Your mind struggles to focus on anything but the aggressive pounding in your head and the dull ache in your chest. Make it stop, please just make it stop.
"y/n?" the voice starts again. You can't make out who it is, but you need that person to either go away or get you some oxygen or something because shit, you can't fucking breathe.
"y/n, I'm coming in okay?" the voice reveals itself to be Steve.
Steve, the human version of a golden retriever. Steve, the man who let you rant, cry and scream at 2am when you needed someone to listen. He listened. He really did.
The next morning you woke up to a more relaxed team of Avengers. You didn't know, but Steve had met with the team to discuss the 'chaotic' mornings around the avengers compound, especially on days off when they had no reason for the chaos.
This meant Thor would stop putting his hammer in front of the tv, which he did to piss off Loki. This often meant that Steve would have to move Mjolnir before Loki stabbed his older brother. The younger god had become a fan of reality tv since living on Midgard, not that he would admit that. Loki often spent his time in the common room watching what he could only describe as 'pathetic' and 'petty' shows, which only showed people constantly arguing.
Tony stopped arguing with Bucky about technology from the 1940s, well not completely, just in the mornings. Vision stopped making surprise appearances in everyone's room to tell them that breakfast was ready. Sam stopped flying redwing around the compound at 6am and waited until at least 10am.
"y/n, I'm going to need to try and look at me" Steve spoke gently from beside you.
Man is this guy is fast he was standing in the door frame a second ago. You turned you head to look at Steve and no matter how gently he asked, if you couldn't tell yourself to breathe, how would you be able to breathe for him.
Steve slowly moved in front of you. He now sat cross-legged on the floor opposite you. He looked at you intently trying to get your eyes to focus on his.
"I'm s-sorry" you quickly breathed out. He watched you, kindness flooding his eyes.
"Shhh, you have nothing to be sorry for" he responded.
"I do, you've already done so much for me and I'm still, I'm still-" your emotions took over and tears started to pool in your eyes.
Steve lifted his hands to your cheek, pausing searching your eyes for permission to touch your face.
"Can I?" He asked and you nodded.
"yes"
Steve softly wiped the tears off your cheeks with his thumb. He then reached out for your hand.
"May I?"
"yes"
He gently picked your hand up and placed it over his chest. He began to take deep breaths and nodded to you to do the same.
"I need you to follow my breathing, can you do that for me?" he asked quietly.
You nodded and closed your eyes, trying to focus on the gentle beat of Steve's heart under the palm of your hand. Steve watched you, his eyes still filled with kindness and care. He understood what you were going through. He suffered with anxiety and panic attacks too.
When he woke up out of the ice, Steve went to his old neighbourhood. Brooklyn had changed. He visited where he once lived, where he grew up and it was gone. That's how Steve found himself in the alley next to a new burger joint, well he thought it was new even though it had opened in the 1980s. The last time he saw it, it was a barber shop.
His breathing was shallow and his head felt heavy. He was leaning on the wall, the bricks offering him some support, but not enough. His mind was racing. The last time he was on this street he was walking home with Bucky after drinks. Bucky, his best friend who he watched fall to his death. The last time he was in this alley he was getting beat up by some asshole. That asshole is probably dead now.
Steve stayed in that alley for 20 minutes. 20 minutes of being overwhelmed by his surroundings. He doesn't know how he got home that day, he does, however, remember feeling exhausted for at least a week after.
He began to trace shapes up and down your arm. He watched as you started to breathe in sync with him, slowly calming down.
After a few minutes your eyes fluttered open and you felt calmer. Steve gave you a soft smile and you smiled back.
"Thank you" you spoke, quietly.
"Anytime" He replied.
You begin to stand and Steve stood at the same time. You legs wobbled slightly and Steve held your arms to steady you. He guided you to your bed so you could be more comfortable. He then began to leave.
"S-Steve?" you stuttered.
"Yeah?" he turned around to face you again.
"Could you stay here? For awhile?" you asked.
"Of course" He walked back over to your bed.
You lay down next to him and he begins drawing shapes up and down your arm again.
"Thank you" you tell him again.
"Anytime" he smiled.

Give it time: ch4
Tumblr media
Click here for chapter 1 Click here for chapter 2 Click here for chapter 3
A/N: It took a while, but here is the continuation of Give it time. For the people who requested it, don’t worry. This is not the last chapter! I think about writing one, maybe two more. This one is written from Thor’s point of view. Hope you like it!
Brother ‘Loki? What are you doing in Asgard?’ Thor asked surprised when he saw his younger brother walking through the hall.
‘It’s my home, so what do you think?’ Loki answered clearly irritated. Before Thor could answer he walked past. Thor had learned to let Loki be when he was in one of his moods, and went in search of his mother. He found her in the garden.
After he had greeted his mother properly he asked ‘What is wrong with Loki?’
Her smiled turned sad. ‘I only know that he and (Y/N) had a fight. Apparently she has gotten back together with her ex-boyfriend Steve? He was a bit cryptic and didn’t feel like talking about it. All I know that he is been in a foul mood, berating the staff, annoying your father and recently he started to drink and attend party’s… trying to find his happiness elsewhere’
‘What do you mean broke up? (Y/N) truly loved him, I didn’t even know she and Steve were together once’
‘This is all I know, he barely sleeps, is angry all the time, and I’m afraid he is planning something. I think it is best you go talk to him’ Frigga told him.
Thor hummed in agreement, and went to search for Loki. A task proven to be extremely difficult if his younger brother didn’t want to be found. It took him half the afternoon, but he finally found Loki sulking in his own private library.
‘Brother, what happened?’ Thor asked.
‘Go away, Thor. I’m not in the mood for you or the volume of your voice’ Loki snarled.
‘Tell me what happened, you’re miserable that is plain to see. Maybe I can help?’ Thor asked, ignoring his brother’s bad temper.
‘Thanks for the compliment, and no you can’t help me. Nobody can’ Loki answered.
‘Loki, just tell me’ Thor sighed. ‘If you do, I will leave you alone’ he added.
This got the attention of Loki. ‘Fine’ he said. And Loki explained his version of events. The past between Steven and (Y/N). How Steve has been setting (Y/N) up against him, how she is too naïve, how Steve practically admitted that he wanted her and how he walked in on them kissing each other. Thor listened to every word and kept his thoughts and questions to himself, letting Loki finish uninterrupted. After the story came to an end, he had to find the right words. Words and meanings were everything to Loki and he couldn’t mess this up. Not when Loki finally let him in.
When the silence endured Loki spoke first ‘You may take your leave now’ he grabbed one of his books and opened it halfway through.
‘What did (Y/N) say about all this?’ Thor asked, he wondered since he hadn’t heard anything about it.
‘We did not talk, I just left’ Loki said through gritted teeth.
‘And you haven’t had any contact with her since then?’ Thor asked.
‘No, weren’t you listening?’
‘Then how do you know if your version is true?’ he asked.
‘I beg your pardon?’ Loki asked.
‘If everything you say is true, then how do you know that she’s with Steve? That she loves him? I know her, and she was crazy about you. I just can’t believe that she would do this…’
‘I saw it’
Thor just chuckled a little ‘If there are two things I learned from growing up with you: one, pay very close attention to what you are actually saying and two, nothing is what is seems’
Loki smirked a little ‘That is because I’m a skilful sorcerer and the God of Lies’ then his smile faltered ‘It doesn’t matter anymore, this was all some time ago. By now she surely is with Steve, and I wish them a very unhappy life together’ he said while his attention shifted back to his book.
‘And what are you planning?’ Thor asked, remembering the words of his mother.
‘I may have thought about ways to kill Steve, but I’m not anymore. I’m just attending a party tonight. So, you can tell mother she’s worries for nothing’
‘It’s not like you to drink and attend parties. You always hated them’ Thor said a bit surprised.
‘Well yeah, but where else meet a girl for a night?’ Loki smirked.
‘Or you could come with me’ Thor said.
‘To where?’
‘Back to Midgard, to the Avengers. You can clear things up with (Y/N), because I’m not buying this story to be true. Plus, your still part of the team and can’t just leave whenever you feel like it’ Thor said.
‘No thanks’ Loki said.
‘Loki, you look like crap and knowing you, you probably feel worse. So, coming back can only improve your mood. If not, I promise I will let you attend ever party in Asgard and you can drink and fuck your problems away. But you will hate yourself if you didn’t at least hear her out’ Thor said angrily.
It took Loki aback a bit. He pondered over the question. ‘Why are you doing this?’ he then asked.
This took Thor aback. ‘Because you’re my brother and I want you to be happy’ he answered.
Loki clearly was struggling with not letting the emotion show on his face, Thor let him get away with it, it was what Loki needed at the moment.
‘But you don’t believe me?’ Loki asked after a while.
‘I do believe you, I just think there is more to the story. If it is the whole story we leave immediately, I promise’ Thor said.
‘Together?’ Loki asked.
‘Together, I got your back’ Thor confirmed. He got up and walked towards the exit of the library. He would have to prepare the journey to Midgard. He looked back when he heard Loki say ‘Thor… thanks brother’. Thor just smiled and nodded, but in his heart there was nothing but love for his little brother. Who, despite the way he could lash out, he loved very dearly and he knew that Loki cared about him, even if he didn’t always show it.
Back on Midgard The Bifrost opened and Thor and Loki stood in front of the familiar compound. Thor noticed that Loki used magic to make himself appear more together, but didn’t comment on it. The two of them walked in the tower. That’s when they heard Tony.
‘Thank God, latterly, that the two of you are finally here!’ he exclaimed.
‘Why, what’s wrong?’ Thor asked.
‘What’s wrong? (Y/N) is an absolute mess, she barely eats and doesn’t want to talk to anyone. I can’t believe you did that to her’ he looked accusingly at Loki.
‘I didn’t do anything, she was the one that kissed Steve’ Loki angrily replied.
‘Huh, what? You were the one that cheated on her. She broke when she found out about it’ Tony said.
Thor was confused. Yes, in the past Loki has betrayed the one’s he loved many times. But he always had a good reason, it was not like him to betray the woman he loved for a bit of fun.
‘WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?’ Loki snarled.
Tony grabbed his phone and showed them the video that Steve had showed him. It was Loki at some party in the compound, drinking and kissing with some other woman Thor didn’t recognize. Loki looked intently at the video. ‘That’s not me! How did you even get that?’ Loki asked.
‘Steve showed it to us’ Tony replied. While Loki was ranting on about Steve he and Tony started to discuss the realness of the video. Thor sneaked away and went in search of (Y/N). He knocked on her door, but there was no answer.
‘(Y/N), I’m coming in’ he said, hoping she was okay. He opened her room, which was still dark. (Y/N) lay under the covers, the air in the room didn’t smell fresh, and around her bed there were several empty bottles of wine.
‘(Y/N)?’ Thor asked. She suddenly turned around and faced him. She sat up straight. Thor could tell she had lost weight, probably from not eating. There were bags and dark circles under her eyes and her hair was greasy.
‘Leave’ she said angrily and Thor saw a hint of the fire that Loki used to love about her.
‘No, I think…’ but he was cut of by (Y/N) throwing an empty wine bottle towards him. It missed his head and broke against the wall, glass flying around the room. ‘LEAVE’ she half-yelled again.
‘I will leave when you talked to me, and I talked to you’ Thor said sternly. He looked her in her eyes, they seemed to be in some sort of staring contest. He could tell she was tired.
She sighed ‘Fine, but I don’t wan to hear a thing about your brother’ tears were already forming in her eyes.
‘Just tell me your version of events, and if it makes sense I promise that I will take Loki back to Asgard with me’ Thor said. Her eyes widened when she heard that Loki was here. For a moment she felt relieved, and wanted nothing more than to run towards him. Hoping he would wrap his arms around her and spin her around. But then she remembered the video Steve showed her about a month after Loki left. He tried to help her get over him, but it only made things worse.
When (Y/N) started to tell he story, Thor discovered that they didn’t add up, just as he expected. He couldn’t help but get angry at Steve for orchestrating this whole thing. He got so angry that a storm was brooding over the compound, something that hadn’t happen in a few hundred years. But now, he couldn’t control himself. He saw (Y/N) flinch when she heard the rumbling sound of thunder, but couldn’t help himself. She had finished her story and Thor was hallway through to explaining Loki’s version of it, when the door burst open.
Tony came running towards (Y/N) yelling ‘It’s deepfake, it’s deepfake!’ he was panting and couldn’t say anything more. That’s when he saw that  (Y/N)’s eyes just notice done presence that was looming in the doorway, Loki.

Source - Fae Collection
Loki x Reader
Summary: The one where he helps you to channel your powers with patience, while pissing off Tony Stark in the process
Tumblr media
You felt utterly useless.
Here you were, standing in front of Earth’s mightiest heroes unable to conjure up your magic like many of your cousins had with ease as children.
Magic, for you, never came easy.
When you had left your realm that floated right above earth’s visible plane, you fell in love with the mundane and the ordinary. You found beauty in the ease of things and small bursts of excitement because humans only remained on their plane for a short lived while, while you would age among various generations of humankind slowly.
When Thor had found you seated in a SHIELD interrogation room, eyes closed simply breathing deeply, he looked to Coulson-- a high ranking agent at the time. “How long has she been indoors?”
The man shrugged his shoulders, “About a month or so. She refused at first and then they stopped asking.”
“She is of Fae. Her people are connected to nature. She has lost her energy.”
Thor was cleared to bring you to the Avengers compound where you met the rest of the team. They welcomed you but you had seemed to lose the small amount of practice you had accumulated before your time of confinement.
Your powers were bounded at birth in protection from the dark elves that reigned terror on Alfheim now, it was why you were sent to the invisible plane above Midgard. Outcasts, refugees, and runaways— your history was erased. With that, hope was lost and the understanding of why your power were bounded remained unknown.
“Wanda, I don’t think I can do it.”
The redheaded was enlisted by Tony to help mentor you. It had seemed Wanda and you shared one common trait, the ability to tap into others minds. It was something that came of ease for you, however, they already had a mind reader, a witch with the ability of telepathy, they wouldn’t need you.
“Yes, you can. Feel your energy. Where is the source?” Her voice was calm but you were growing increasingly frustrated.
Tony, Steve, Natasha, Thor and Loki stood watching as Sam and Bucky waited for Rhodey to return with their snacks. Clearly it had been forever, and they were growing impatient. Thor every so often would give you an encouraging nod. He believed in you.
In a way they all did, but in that moment you didn’t feel it. Or specifically, hear that.
“How long is she going to take? I should start my training.”
“I have dinner with Pepper at 5. She’s gonna kick my ass if I hold her up.”
You closed your eyes again but knew you had no idea what source she was even talking about. All you felt was annoyed, tired of standing, and hungry.
Sensing this, Loki rolled his eyes and glided over to you, passing Wanda who stood off to the side of you. Tony and Steve immediately tensed up at the quick movement, while Rhodey entered at the moment already suspicious of why Steve’s fist was clenched. Thor looked over and spoke in a low voice, “Trust him. I think he may have an idea.”
Natasha rolled her eyes and offered him a pointed look, “Let’s hope it isn’t anything harmful.”
Loki smiled softly at you, “You feel no source, do you?”
You bit your lip and looked down, “No.” You looked at Wanda and shrugged, “I’m sorry. Maybe I just don’t have anything else to offer other than telepathy.”
The raven-haired man bowed his head catching your eyes, “But you do. I can feel it.” You looked up at him with questioning eyes only to see he had turned around and stared at Tony and Steve, “If you had let me help her originally, you would know that unlike the witch, her power isn’t sourced in her, it is in nature.”
“Well, how do you expect us to trust you, Reindeer Games? You are here because Thor gave us his word that you meant no harm.”
Loki rolled his eyes. He never cared what Tony Stark’s perceptions were of him. He turned back to look at you and caught your eye, “Do you trust me?”
You looked into his eyes and nodded. Of course you did.
While you both never spent time together in front of the other members on account that Loki always hid in the library. So when you weren’t buzzing around the building, and walked in to see him sitting in his usual chair— you would smile and begin talking.
Many times for extended hours, and with the exception of a few nights, your conversation often remained light.
But there were nights when vulnerability would seep in. And so, a blossoming interest in one another and a friendship developed in the quietness of late night conversations in your library.
“Very well.” He smirked and looked back at the group, “Being surrounded by this Midgardian garbage of concrete and rubber mats will do nothing for her. We shall take this outside.”
Tony glared daggers into Loki’s head as the group followed Loki and you to the courtyard. “Midgardian trash? This cost me a fortune. What the hell is he talking ab--”
You pushed his thoughts out as he projected them loudly. You giggled softly, Loki had looked down at you while holding the door. “You heard it too. Glad you find his anger equally as comical as I do.”
“I don’t think he will let that one go.”
“Good, I hope not.”
Loki smirked at you as you walked on the grass. He stopped soon after, and you followed. The rest of the group stopped at a distance. Wanda joined the spot next to Natasha and Thor, they all watched intently.
You looked at all of them until you heard Loki call your name softly. “Y/N, focus on me.” You met his eyes and inhaled deeply before nodding. “Sorry, I can’t focus with all of their eyes on me.”
He blew out a short breath in acknowledgement.  “The redhead witch keeps trying to enter my barriers. Quiet annoying, I will say.”  You smiled as you peeped a quick look at Wanda who seemed extremely focused on the man standing in front of you.
You heard him speak again, “May I?” Hands held out, he waited for your answer. You looked down and slid your gloves off. Your eyes drew back up to his and you slid your hands into his, feeling his cool hand wrap around your warm ones.
Normally, you hated touching but once you held his hands it felt as though the world slipped away. All you felt was energy, all that surrounded you. You basked in its soft hum.
He continued, “Now, I want you close your eyes and take a deep breath in with me, little one, and clear your mind.”
You closed you eyes in response, and smiled sweetly at the pet name subconsciously. To which Loki caught and smiled in return, knowing you couldn’t see.
“You are one with the world around you. Feel the warmth of the sun on this brisk day. You are at peace— the very center of the world around you. Everything here has energy. Nature holds memory of the past and present. You are here, darling. You are safe.” His voice was soft and smooth.
It would be a lie if you didn’t feel yourself melting into his words. They were slick and entrancing. “What do you hear, Y/N?” He asked in his soft lulls.
“The trees. The wind is blowing...” You spoke to him in a quiet voice.
Loki nodded, “Tell me, dove. How does the wind on your skin make you feel?”
“It’s soft and slightly warm after the initial cold.” You stated once again causing him to observe you curiously. He turned your hands to face each other slowly in hopes he wouldn’t sever the connection you found.
His hand cupped against the back of yours as if you were holding an invisible ball. “Gods, she is intoxicating.” Immediately you were pulled out of his thoughts at the sound of his voice, “You aren’t supposed to be intruding in my mind, little one.”
You smiled tightly embarrassed of getting caught, you heard him chuckle. “Do you feel all the tethers connecting through you? They flow in and out of you. Concentrate them between our hands.
“I don’t know how.”
“Just feel and trust. Visualize it.”
Slowly you felt warmth gathering closer and closer to your hands. It was forming and growing, you projected a thought to him fearing you would break concentration if you spoke. “It feels like the sun.”
He smiled, “Open your eyes slowly and take a look.”
You opened your eyes to his eyes staring at you. He smiled at you endearingly.
Holding his gaze for a bit, you then followed his eyes down to the ball of light in between both of your hands. Inside it was white with several revolving colors that interchanged. Hues of purples, red, green, and blue shone with gold shimmering around the outside.
“We did that?” She looked at him with surprise.
“You did.” He spoke softly. “You are harnessing the world around you. Its energy.”
A smile grew on your lips out of excitement. He moved around you stopping behind you shoulder. You felt his hands slide down your arm, resting them on your elbow and back. “Now throw it.”
You gave a little push it forward and was greeted with a cloud of smoke and Tony yelling. “Not the tree! Come on.” He threw up his hands as Sam, Bucky, and Rhodey laughed throwing popcorn at one another.
“That was awesome.” You looked at Loki in pure amusement. You couldn’t explain the feeling that coursed through your body.
He smiled at you and nodded, “I told you that you held power. Come, I have a few books to show you.”
You nodded eagerly and followed him as Tony yelled at Thor. The blonde smirked at his brother knowing he found joy in pissing Tony off even more. However, he was even more amused at the the scene they had all watched. He noted Loki’s softness, one that the team didn’t get to see. It was shocking to them, but to Thor, it was an emotion he know Loki rarely let others know of.
It was the quality of a small effort towards redemption.
“Thank you, Loki. Really.” You said walking alongside him.
The raven-haired man smiled, “No need to thank me, little one. Now, let us go before he combusts out of anger.”
“You got it, Trickster.” You said acknowledging that he full well enjoyed getting to Tony once more.
