Ok so thinking about ara again but for some reason I zeroed in on ZoroAra (aka the au where she dies in hisui and becomes A zoroark). Sent her to uva academy for some reason, mostly because I wanted to think about what her dorm would look like, so here's some details (im rambling rn):

The curtains are always drawn to darken the room, and the temperature's always pretty low

She has a few framed pictures, including: A very old-looking picture of her and the Hisui Gang, A more recent picture of her ten-year-old self with her family and the Hoenn gang, and a fairly new picture of her with Ingo and Emmet. Also, some group shots and portrait shots of her various Pokemon.

If the player was to look at her bed, the text would read, "There's a lot of white Pokemon hair on the sheets." (Btw none of her Pokemon have white fur. Ooooh how mysterious I wonder how that got there)

She has a carved Pokeshi doll on her windowsill.

She also has a bookshelf with a number of books. Sitting front and center is a thick book with a blue cover. The pages are worn, yellowed, heavily annotated with multiple different people's handwriting, and have lots of notes and other papers sticking out from between the pages. (Professor Laventon transcribed all the data to a different book and let her keep the original dex when she had to leave.) If interacted with, it would open up a menu that would let the player go to the following pages: Decidueye, Gallade, Garchomp, Walrein, Ninetails, Dusclops, and Zoroark (aka her Hisuian team and her.) It would open up to the actual pages and PLA dex entries for the Pokemon, with a few extra notes in the margins.

Her kitchen would feature a teapot on the stove and a recipe book open to potato mochi lol

the whole theming of the room would probably be light purples, pinks, and greens. I feel like those colors just suit her.

Besides details in her room, I think it'd be funny if npcs would sometimes talk about her and how strange she is. Stuff like she only ever attends night classes, she has strangely glowy yellow eyes, her hair always seems to float, her teeth are sharp, and the way she talks to Pokemon you'd think she understands their language. Probably one or two would mention how she used to be the Champion of the Hoenn Region, but went missing for a couple years and came back... strange.

Ara can't create perfect illusions because she's bad at being a Zoroark and also deception is simply not in her nature. Disguising herself as a human, she can get pretty close, but Zoroark elements tend to bleed through.

The only people in on the secret are Clavell because he's the director and probably should know, Nurse Miriam because what if Ara gets hurt and needs her help or something, and Jacq because he's her uncle. Raifort is probably on to her but doesn't know anything for certain. Oh and dammit Geeta would probably have to know but I hate Geeta so we'll ignore that fact

Its a little awkward, technically being a Pokemon who trains Pokemon, but she talks it out with the Pokemon she catches and makes sure they're cool with it. If they're not, she doesn't mind releasing them.

Honestly she's just here to keep her nose clean and do the gym challenge, trying to relieve her early days as a trainer before Everything. No missions from Arceus, no saving the world, no taking down evil teams, no maniacal legend-obsessed people trying to take over the world by stealing ancient magical artifacts, no time travel-- oh arceus damn it there's a time machine. She probably gets sucked into Operation Starfall a little but the player would still be doing the bulk

Yeah she'd somehow, against her better judgement, end up on the Area Zero mission, where she'd have to reveal her secret to the player, Nemona, Arven, and Penny. But honestly they're cool with it. Fluffy

(EDIT JULY 2022- THIS POST HAS SOME OUTDATED AU INFO!! I will likely make a diff post in the future w updated art and concepts!)

Here’s some art for my AU that my bf named the Lost AU! (Versions without masks are under the cut- I don’t want this post to be too long)

The basic concept is that Cilan and Cress both got sent to Hisui at the same time as Ingo- and somebody else also already made and posted abt an au where Cilan and Cress get sent to Hisui so please check it out here.

More information/art under the cut. Be warned, this post ended up being verrry long lmao

(also, Ingo and Emmet are wearing colored contacts to match their Pokémon)

Basic gist of how they got to Hisui is that Cilan, Chili, and Cress were celebrating their birthday in form of a sort of half-masquerade, where everybody wore themed outfits/masks but you still new who was who (Because of evil teams n stuff, it would just be too much of a risk to have everyone be anonymous)

Ingo is going around, delivering custom birthday cards to each of the triplets, along with a little trinket that he also made. It’s their 20th birthday, and they’ve had the gym since they were 15, so 5 years of being gym leaders is a pretty big milestone, especially for people who opened at such a young age. (At least he’s delivering cards and not releasing massive Pokémon into the place, like a certain smiling man in white that one year.) It’s my headcannon that Ingo makes small gifts and Emmet tries to be as extravagant as possible, because go big or go home right?

He gets to deliver the cards to Chili and Cress before he locates Cilan, and they get jumped by their respective siblings, and joke around for a moment before their Pokémon frantically run up to them.

Beneath them, a portal opens, and there’s only enough time for Ingo to shove Emmet, Chandelure, and Galvantula out and for Cilan and Cress to toss Chili and Simisear out, before they’re swallowed into the Distortion World.

None of them remember the time there (not yet) but they land in Hisui a few hours later (from their perspective). About Cilan;

He ends up landing in the Obsidian Fieldlands behind the Grantree Arena, along with Simisage, with no memories and the only thing telling him his name and how old he is being the birthday card in his pocket.

He immediately gets attacked, and Simisage saves him, but with no memories, he doesn’t know why. He ends up backing away when Simisage tries to approach and realizes that, oh shit, that’s his partner. He also has Simisage��s pokeball, which further reinforces the fact that they’re bonded.

He ends up finding a nice group of trees to live in (preferably away from what attacked him thank-you-very-much) and sets up a tree house of sort in one with a lot of branches

He stores his hat and mask in a part of a tree he hollows out, because for some unknown reason, he seems to have a survival knife

Lord Kleavor befriends him, and people only really find out about his existence until 2 years later, when an 8 year old Lian (pre Warden status) is visiting and ends up going too far past the Arena, and gets attacked by an Alpha Scyther; the very same one that attacked Cilan.

Kleavor’s Warden died trying to get Lian away because he lacked a Pokémon partner, and in a last ditch effort, Lord Kleavor runs off to fetch Cilan, who he knows is very good at fighting off wild Pokémon.

Cilan saves Lian with his battle prowess and it’s from that moment onward that the Clans know he exists. He ends up meeting some Diamond Clan members, along with Adaman, since he already knows Irida from the incident with the Scyther. After he successfully resolves an argument without making the fighting worse (he used to do it all the time with Chili and Cress) the Clans decide that he should be a mediator of sorts- and that’s what he ends up doing.

About Ingo;

He lands in the Alabaster Icelands, and tries to go ask about civilization, but his mask and eye contacts (along with his glowy eyes) make him look like a Zoroark, which causes anybody out in the storm to retreat.

This causes him to be unable to approach anybody, and the panicked words from Pearl Clan members about a Zoroark trying to approach humans causes Lady Sneasler, who had been visiting as Irida begged her to choose a warden, to go and investigate.

She finds Ingo, who at that point, had found Avalugg’s Legacy and was currently being attacked by the alpha Mamoswine, and saves him.

She rushes to get him medical help, and Gaeric, who had taken off after her, ends up rushing to keep up with her as she speeds as fast as possible to find out where Calaba is staying as the Pearl Wardens stay in the settlement for the night

Ingo gets help, and the people in the Pearl Clan notice the correlation between the cut in the sky above Coronet and his appearance. Many want to cast him out, but Irida refuses, and they have no choice but to listen to her despite her being 14 years old (18 by the time Akari arrives, she’s been leader since age 13)

Gaeric trains him in the art of survival and he and Irida develop a sort of sibling rivalry, with Gaeric as the eldest brother keeping them from actually committing murder

There’s something familiar to Ingo about the concept of teasing a younger sibling, and it’s kind of painful to think about for too long

Lady Sneasler chooses him as Warden about a year after he arrives, so by the time the Pearl and Diamond Clans find Cilan, he’s out in the Highlands, doing his own thing and caring for Sneasler’s kits, so he only vaguely hears abt a Mediator whose name he can never recall if told

About Cress;

He winds up landing on Prelude Beach with Simipour, and since this is two years before the Galaxy Team arrives, he ends up getting kidnapped by pirates

Some shit happens, and he, along with Simipour, overthrow the Captain, who had actually been holding his entire crew hostage and forcing them to work with him

Cress ends up having to kill him in order to win, and it’s a guilt he never lets go of, even if the guy’s own daughter thanked him for landing the finishing blow

He turns the purpose of the crew around. They end up becoming Bounty Hunters who only go after despicable people, and actually work to defend the innocent

The old Captain’s daughter, Lydia, who is Lenora’s ancestor, ends up becoming next in line to be the Captain, and as such, helps Cress with a lot of stuff, and actually kinda gets adopted as a sibling of sorts, and infodumps abt the history of different regions a lot

They have a special protocol for if somebody severely needs special protection, like if say, the equivalent of Cynthia were to be assassinated, then they’d come over and protect her until the danger passes

One day, Lydia comes into his office in a panic, waving a paper that holds the image of a man with blue hair, brown eyes, and a eeveelution partner.

And now for the maskless art! (also i literally have no idea why but when i view this post in my drafts the maskless art isn't grouped the way i want it to?? hopefully it posts itself normally, otherwise it's just going to be an uncompressed line of people) (also i am aware that Cilan's eyes are too far apart but i noticed it too late and now I can't change it, rip)

I wrote enough to give this its own post instead of just continuing from this one

*Casually takes this idea and tucks it into my notes folder* Hmmmmm I /like/ that. Yes, as Kamado ages and reflects on his life and his life choices, he does write that letter. He entrusts it to Irida, imploring her to ensure it's kept safe over the ages. And while the Pearl clan ebbs away, it is still passed down generation after generation. When it is finally unearthed and actually sent to the museum, it's opened (carefully!) for the first time. Put on display. Depending on how explicit it is about who Ingo is, maybe he's even informed about it. Or maybe Rei finds it and brings it to his attention. Either way I think it's a "new discovery" after Ingo has returned.

Maybe after Lucas (Rei) has returned to present day Sinnoh, told his story, reunited with uncle Ingo and Emmet and all, he's still called upon on occasion by history buffs. Rei has kept Ingo's name out of it, respecting the twin's preference to stay out of the limelight in this case, so Rei is the only one they know traveled back in time. So when he's called in for his opinions on a recent discovery, he knows immediately upon reading it who the letter is really to. He has to decide if he wants to honor Kamado's last wish to apologize to Ingo, or if it's even his decision to make. In the end he calls up the brothers to tell them of its existence, and leaves the decision to come or not to them.

Emmet does Not want to, but Ingo the ever soft hearted is willing to do so. And really in the end, it DOES help. No one has ever really apologized to either of them for the harm against them. Ingo finds some catharsis at the apology, and Emmet feel an inkling of mollification. They don't forgive him, but it does mean something that Kamado was able to recognize he was in the wrong and admit it.

Okay so honestly the litwick thing was just to explain/give the excuse to have the twins with glowy eyes, because I love that headcanon/look in PLA. HOWEVER my friend speculated what if litwick had tried to give back some energy, which made me go "oooooh ghosty powers yes I can USE this!" But at the same time I didn't want it to be an overpowered crutch. It's not making them stronger physically or anything, and it's nothing they are aware of or control, it just gives them an edge in certain extreme situations (that they find themselves in a lot lolol). So here's sort of the rundown of the powers I've thought of so far.

*glowy eyes (obviously)

*minor energy sap

-elevates based on emotions. This is not something they consciously control, or are even aware of. It's not noticeable enough to other people to point out, and while pokemon may or may not notice it, it's not remotely close to being as powerful as a normal pokemon move. HOWEVER!

-when they are cleaning up Nimbasa, they are very focused and have verrrrrrrry strong emotions about it. So the fights they get into? The mob of thugs versus the two of them? While it's true they get very good at fighting, that's not enough to explain why they win nearly /every/ fight. No, it's because that all the while, they are slowly draining their targets (especially through touch! throw a punch, get a boost lol), and energizing themselves. They can last longer in a fight, get more second winds, etc etc.

-when not actively fighting or feeling negative emotions, the drain is basically dormant. Unless the are not taking care of themselves, such as overworking, going without sleep or food, etc. Then it kicks in as a survival instinct. Since they do that more than they should, they do tend to be draining random people. But it's just a little, hardly noticeable, and they live in a big city so it's not focused on any one person. This is where Elesa's (and later Rei's) immunity comes in. Subconsciously they have determined these people are "not acceptable" to drain from. There's other subtleties to this, such as does their unconscious drain work on a child if they don't know it's there, but I don't have a solid opinion on that yet.

-which means if they are suffering from severe depression, their drain kicks up by a lot, and doesn't stop. So upon separation, it gets a little out of control compared to before. People think Emmet is just gloomy, that it's tiring to be with him because he's so sad, but in reality it's because he's siphoning nearly constantly. It also fills him with restless spill over energy, which makes him try to work it off (covering Ingo's shifts, endless searching, no sleep, etc). Similarly, many people in Hisui do /like/ Ingo, but are uncomfortable being around him. His drain is not as strong (when he first arrives), due to lack of focused emotion. But he's always like...searching. Thinking of where he might have come from, and how far it is. So his drain reaches out /far/.

-If Emmet is a blazing black hole of concentrated drain, Ingo is a softer giant, spread over a distance seeking /something/. Later after Ingo's been re-traumatized (sorry Ingo :<), his drain is worse, making people avoid him even more. It's probably more central to him as well, since he's so focused inward, so it's less spread out over distance. Which doubly means he's not getting as much energy as before, since the radius is smaller, but is pulling harder, so people he's around more often get more tired. (Kamado has picked up on this subconsciously. It's why he targets Ingo first, because he's constantly had this ping of "danger danger", especially after Ingo started hanging around Jubilife more.)

*I have also decided they get temperature regulation powers. :> So they don't get cold very easily, don't overheat very easily. Hence why Ingo can go running around the snowy mountains like he ends up doing a lot, or how the twins can basically wear their coats everywhere all the time no matter how hot it is.

*I am still pondering if I want to lean into any other ghostly powers. Since it was caused by the drain, I mostly focused on that obviously. But I feel there’s an opportunity here. *squints*

I'm not sure if your question about Emmet was "does Ingo's drain affect him", in which case the answer is no. They have a few people that are automatically exempt because of how much they care about them, plus their own strong morals. Each other, Elesa, an unnamed depot worker I have Ideas(tm) for, Rei, and for Ingo Irida also falls under it. Their pokemon for sure (and ofc Lady Sneasler and kits), though Chandelure probably helps with that too since it IS her fault in the first place lol. Really, when they are in a good headspace, their drain isn't even active. Also generally if they are aware of like, children or young pokemon in their vicinity, the drain also pulls back/doesnt work on them. I honestly think something similar happens when they are working, because everyone in the subway is their Responsibility to keep safe, so their drain shuts off.

Upon further thought, I think your question is "does Emmet also have the litwick powers but to a lesser extent", and the answer to that is no, they have it equally! In my first post on this AU, I told the tale of how the twins met litwick, how she was just draining them both for a few hours, before they saved her life, and how she tried to push lifeforce back into them as an apology/trying to help. They shared her as their only pokemon for quite a while. When they got tynamo, they raised him together as well. Later when they had to register their pokemon, they split their teams evenly because they had to, and over time did bond a little closer with their aces and more-used partners. But they can and do trade with each other all the time.

Speaking of, that does mean that Emmet has to meet Ingo's Hisui team lol~ I have some ideas and headcanons for that, but I'm not sure yet what I'm going to use for this story.

Then tell us a small bit about them. Things you can just grab out of memorie(if it's like with mine, where I have a lot of information, even just of memories, I am interested in learning about a lot of information)

Ok so I have some stuff so far, main fankid is Emily but there are two other less defined:

Emily/Kurabi(Japanese):

Deliberately named similar to Emmet because Ingo remembered him at that point

Red curly hair tied back in a bun

Tall

Gets into dangerous situations which frustrates her parents to no end, including harassing alpha pokemon and going into space time distortions

Loud

She has eyebrows but they’re very thin and hard to see

Mama’s girl 100% but she loves her dad too

Does a pose similar to Ingo’s but not quite the same

Loves battles

Her eyes are the same color as Ingo’s and they do the glowy kinda thing like his

Loud, possibly even hard of hearing so she has to compensate

She trains her pokemon ALL. THE TIME. Battling is her life and if she isn’t at the training grounds she’s out in the wild looking for pokemon to battle (hence why she gets into trouble so much)

Can and will fight a Wydeer with her bare hands

Sneasler is her 3rd parent

Emily’s team:

Alpha Shiny Gengar she caught as a gastly in a space-time distortion when she was like 12 (I knooow), he’s her ace and she loves him to death

Blissey which she got as a toddler when it was still a happiny, from her father because he KNEW she was gonna get into stupid shit

Sneasler, duh

Hisuian Zoroark which she got as a Zorua, I can’t decide whether it was a gift from her dad or she caught it herself

Borrows her mom’s steelix who also keeps her out of trouble

I sorta imagined an AU related to the legends Orre au I made where she shows up looking for her uncle Emmet and she picks up a fairy/fire chandelure she names chandy (her only pokemon she caught fully evolved)

I feel like her team would be stupidly broken in some respects but in others she would have a lot of weaknesses (ground, water, flying, fighting and electric? I think?)

possible ideas for tlm with quirks

either all their quirks are "master building" where they can take things apart/build on an almost molecular level (can't change material, but can change shape) or they're all just macgyver-level cool as master building.

Wyldstyle - possible quirks

Quirkless - wyldstyle is just that cool

Color shift - can change the color of her hair at will

Sound manipulation - can manipulate the soundwaves within a certain radius of herself and change their volume. OR can change the reflective properties of anything she touches with 5 fingers (like, make the walls of an alley very echoey or making a motorcycle pretty much silent) Left hand quiets, right hand loudens.

Mute - she can silence anything she touches w/ 5 fingers. effects end by touching all five fingers to her palm.

Stealth - as long as she holds her breath she disappears from perception. Does not extend to other people

Benny - Zero G (or as Benny calls it, "space logic")

In a small area surrounding him, it is as if you are in space. Through concentration, he can expand and contract the radius. Cannot apply to individual objects. It is purely through radius. Manages to keep it contained to his own body, and wears a space suit for the aesthetic.

If under incredible emotional duress it is possible to remove the air from his radius, and pretty much teleports a bit of outer space to his radius. No sound will travel, and there is no air or gravity. This has only happened once or twice

His living area is outfitted for zeroG, as without conscious thought pulling his radius back in, Benny has a radius of 3ft.

Metalbeard - possible quirks

Metal Manipulation - any metal that he's connected to his body he can manipulate.

hes just got... metal hair

Organ connection (assuming he's literally just a head sitting on top of a box of his guts) - he does not need to be immediately connected to his organs in order for them to work and for him to remain alive. The farthest away that his organs can be is only 3ft however.

Fish friend - he can keep exactly one fish alive out of water as long as he's in contact with it. (the shark on his arm)

Batman - nightvision

dudes pretty normal but he has glowy eyes. He can see in the dark.

literally everything else is through training and tech.

GCBC - possible quirks

quirkless - they're just that cool

twins - GCBC really do have two different faces. No one can process/understand the switching. Their faces just change.

Chair - they can summon one chair at a time out of thin air. These chairs disappear once they're no longer is thinking about them. Only one type of chair can be summoned (the metal interrogation chairs.)

Emmet Brickowski - possible quirks

quirkless

Average - Emmet just looks and sounds just like some guy. Difficult for someone to remember him/they can only remember him if they want to.

A basic strength enhancer

Premonition - Emmet receives dreams of the future. He cannot control when he gets them, and cannot tell them from a normal dream.

Vitruvius - possible quirks

quirkless - he's just like that.

eye glow - absolutely no benefit, his eyes just glow.

bargain bin - he can find ANYTHING so long as it's not important or expensive.

spatial awareness - its like daredevil. He can understand where everything is within a certain radius. Cannot see color or written words, only works for shapes. He can expand the radius by lowering the quality of what he "sees" and vice versa; by focusing on a smaller radius he can "see" extremely small details, ex: ridges on a coin

Force ghost - yeah. he's dead but also still here.

Lord Business - possible quirks

quirkless - he's just that over-the-top

Office supply boost - he can use office supplies beyond their original usage as long as he gives them a silly name. Ex: poLeesh remover removing more than polish, Kragle being stronger than pretty much any glue or cement, etc. Only works once a day(?) and he cannot have purchased the item. Needs to have found it.

Unikitty - a hybrid animal with a quirk

since she's a hybrid she can have more than one quirk just cause :)

sparkle matter - depending on emotions she can create small items from her horn that typically appear just for aesthetic/ambiance. They are intangible. Subconsciously controlled, and is much harder (though possible) to create sparkle matter consciously.

Rage - boosts Unikitty's speed, strength, and size. Cannot be held while asleep or unconscious, or for more than 15hrs. If held for 15hrs, Unikitty needs to sleep to recharge.

Fire - can shoot fire from horn, mouth, and tail can become fire, but only in Rage mode. Cannot be consciously controlled.

Shapeshifting - she can shapeshift! Will always retain a horn and color scheme in whatever form. Cannot hold a different form from base for over 2 hours, and will be unable to shapeshift again until 72hrs have passed. Smaller shifts can be retained for longer with a shorter cooldown period.

Fly - she can fly. Takes conscious thought
