Beautifully done 1920 factory conversion in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. True industrial style loft has 3bds, 3ba, $950K + $598mo. HOA. (If it's a condo there's always HOA maintenance, no avoiding it, but fees do vary, so some are more reasonable than others.)
Tumblr media
The elevator brings you to your private foyer entrance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This home is huge. Great for maximalists and those who like a lot of room to spread out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Large area for a dining room space in front of the patio doors.
Tumblr media
Very open concept and they've added some walls to make rooms, but still extremely factory-like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All of the industrial elements were preserved, including the typical vintage columns and exposed brick.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beautiful kitchen, love the colors of the cabinets. The sitting area is set up right in front of the kitchen so that family and guests can interact.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This recessed brick area makes a great home office or den.
Tumblr media
There are actually 2 spaces like this, so there are a lot of possibilities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spacious primary bedroom is not enclosed, but it's tucked into a corner.
Tumblr media
It has a nice walk-in closet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus, a beautiful, big en-suite.
Tumblr media
Bd. #2 is very roomy and can fit chairs, a sofa and desk.
Tumblr media
Bd. #3 is also lovely and all 3 bds. get a lot of natural light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The covered patio is very large, but there's a roof in front of it.
Tumblr media
This unit comes with 2 indoor parking spaces and 1 outdoor, which is pretty good.
Tumblr media
Since I'm a city person, I like the way the neighborhood looks.

Here are the parcels that allegedly made up Price’s portfolio, and the links between him and his co-conspirators, according to indictment and other public documents:
SOUTH LANCASTER AVENUE
2402, 2408 and 2410 S. Lancaster Ave.
What: Commercial building, two vacant lots
Status: Building rented
Back taxes due: $6,614.73
Appraised value: $80,060
The small building at 2402 S. Lancaster Ave. apparently paid off big for Price, records show.
Purchased by Nealy as a foreclosure for just under $40,000 in 2003, the building generated more than $113,000 in rental income over an eight-year period that federal authorities said went to Price.
The property is leased to Tootsies Braiding Gallery, a popular salon where Price has gotten his iconic cornrow hairstyle. Federal authorities found three checks of $1,200 each from Tootsies to Price. The remaining rent payments came from Nealy, according to court records.
A woman who identified herself as Maurine Tootsie Jones declined to comment.
Nealy purchased the building at a sheriff’s sale in May 2003, then went on to buy the vacant lots adjacent to the property. She bought the property at 2410 S. Lancaster later the same month for $6,502.15 at another sheriff’s sale.
The remaining lot at 2408 S. Lancaster was purchased the following year for $6,400 at a sheriff’s sale by one of Nealy’s daughters. It was later put in Nealy’s name.
Nealy is listed as the owner of the properties. Taxes on the building and one of the lots have been delinquent since 2011. Taxes on the other lot have not been paid since 2012.

week four
This week, I began my work with a panel over the weekend. This was part of my work with the Veteran’s Legacy Program, but we tabled for multiple institutions within the History Department. This included the Florida France Soldiers Stories Project, as well as the Veterans History Project. We had a good amount of engagement with those at the panel about our programs, with some interested in possible oral interviews with VHP. One of the women I talked to expressed interest in reaching out to the program for an interview with her father, who served. I also spoke at a panel during the conference, promoting history department projects. The panel I worked on was entitled “Learning from Florida’s National Cemeteries: Researching Veterans Experiences,” chaired by John Lancaster and featuring presenters Isabella Love, Sarah Bousfield, and Luci Meier. Sarah presented a panel about her work entitled “History in 3-D: Interactive and Digital Approaches to Research and Teaching Veterans History.” This explained her work with Veterans history, making Story Maps to use as teaching tools. Luci presented “Valorizing Female Veterans: Researching the Diverse Experiences of Women in the Military.” This was a paper on her work with female Veterans, which is her area of expertise. It was really touching to see the care she speaks about these women with, it is nice to know even after all these years, there is still someone looking out for them. The panel I presented was called “Bridging the Gap: Transferring Academic Research Skills into the Workplace and Nurturing Compassion through Cemetery Research.” This paper explored how I transitioned from undergrad work into the research field, as well as my experience with cemetery research. I cited my internship in my presentation- “But for some of the other places the VLP has brought me- I’m interning with the Veteran’s History Program this semester because of the love I found for working with Veterans through this program. I found that I really enjoy connecting with Veterans and this is a way for me to expand my skills from VLP into a new section of history, working with oral histories.” This panel gave me an opportunity to workshop my presentation skills, as well as meet and network with people in the field. It also provided me with an opportunity to explain the programs we offer for Veterans and Veterans history at UCF to people outside of UCF, bringing this work to a new population of people and possibly finding people who would be willing to give oral interviews. I also continued my work from last week with transcriptions for my first Veteran. This included working with the transcription, the AV log, and interview abstract. I also talked to Jessie in our weekly VHP meeting about starting my work with interviewing Veterans. I am currently arranging a mock interview with Jessie to train before I work in the field, interviewing actual Veterans. This is great, because I feel a lot more comfortable working with Jessie first so I get an idea of what an actual interview would be like.

Who we are:
We are starting a Transitional Homeless Shelter that gets those experiencing homelessness off the street, puts them in temporary shelter, provides services and training, and helps them acquire income and eventually permanent housing.
Our goal is to fundraise to help pay for the client's expenses, start businesses to put profit into the shelter, and provide income for the clients. Our immediate fundraising goal is to raise $15 million dollars.
What we need:
Monetary donations to care for each person to cover administrative and operational expenses (approximately $50,000 per year per person), commercial/residential properties, temporary shelters such as apartments/houses (2 bedroom or more), rooming houses, motels/hotels, resource information we can use to help the homeless (ex. employment, properties, furnishings to donate, grants), volunteers, college intern students, lawyer, CPA, event planner, grant writer, advisory board members, and eventually staff. People who are good with Constant Contact, ClickBank, ClickFunnels, Canva, WordPress, digital/social media marketing, YouTube, and sales. People who have successful online businesses to help us obtain, start, and run online businesses to put profit into the shelter and provide income for the clients.
What you can do to help us:
Donate money ASAP, make an in-kind donation for a tax write-off, give us resource information to help the homeless (such as grants, furnishings {bedroom, kitchen, living room}, employment or housing), support us by networking our information and support/buying tickets for our fundraising events. If you help us in any way we can use, you can get a free ticket for the next event.
We are helping Chosen 300 Ministries, 215-243-0300, 3959 Lancaster Ave, 19104. They feed approximately 300 homeless unemployed people. Please help Chosen300.org by donating food, clothes, shoes, coats, hats, personal care items, socks, underwear, bras, feminine care items, soap, toilet paper, paper towel, and blankets. Call 215-243-0300 to check the addresses for their other locations and times for donation drop-off.
We placed the disabled Williams family, and they need 2 sets of bedroom furnishings and living room furnishings, a small refrigerator, mop, pail, vacuum cleaner, and cleaning products today.
We are helping the Brown family, mother and 2 daughters, acquire a 2 or 3-bedroom apartment under $1,000 rent, furnishings, cleaning products, and at least $5,000 to get them in temporary shelter today.
We will also need furnishings for 300 rooms because many of our temporary shelters will be unfurnished. Please donate furnishings today.
Call to action:
Please help today, donate, or sponsor our events/clients. You have a place to live. The homeless are living on the streets in the wind, cold, rain, and snow.
Please spread this information. Spread the word to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, church members, club members, business associates, etc. You never know who has the means and the willingness to donate to our cause.

A woman's body was discovered in a car trunk, and a man was arrested.
A man, Matthew Switalski, was arrested for murder after a woman's body was found in the trunk of a burned vehicle in Lancaster. The suspect, Switalski, is the owner of the home where the victim, Veronica Aguilar, 27, was found. The two were believed to be dating at one point. On December 20, emergency crews responded to a fire burning at a home in the 41400 block of 38th Street West. Heavy smoke and fire came from the garage, and two charred vehicles were found inside, along with Aguilar's body in the trunk of a car. Switalski was later determined to be a suspect in the woman's death and was taken into custody on murder charges. The events leading up to Aguilar's death remain unclear as authorities continue investigating the case. It's unfortunate; may she rest in peace as justice is served.
