#Landing at Point Rain
Text
Watching early Clone Wars seasons with a 9 year old (the intended audience) without making comments of my own is very eye opening. Kid brother was laughing so hard at Ki-Adi's joke in Point Rain. He's got nothing negative to say about Luminara, or the Jedi. He immediately noticed that the Geonosian holograms are red whereas the Jedi's are blue, and infered it was on purpose to show the Geonosians are the bad guys. He was freaking repulsed by the bugs because we're meant to be. He laughs when droids make silly comments before dying because droids are silly and it's not that deep in the show. He got that Luminara outranked Anakin just by observing that she looks/feel a lot wiser and more experienced.
Kid is really out there experiencing Star Wars with zero fandom/cultural poisoning the way it was meant to. We may overanalyse the crap out of the franchise but at the end of the day it's humbling to remember kids are more likely to get it than we are because it was created for them.

What made you really start to love Obi wan and his story?
Hello there my friend!!! It was 1000000000% Landing At Point Rain. I really didn't like Obi-Wan too much before I watched Clone Wars. I was gradually starting to enjoy him a little more during season 1, but Landing At Point Rain in season 2 was a huge turning point for me.
Tumblr media
It was the first time the show felt like it shifted into a scenario where the characters were in real peril. Obviously, I knew Obi-Wan survived the Clone Wars, but I didn't think they would ever hurt him or put him in real danger...BOY WAS I WRONG 😂 Little did I know that he was about to become the galaxy's punching bag.
Tumblr media
The show was becoming more mature and was exploring more grown up themes. This episode helped me see that Clone Wars was more than a kid's show.
Tumblr media
The combat cinematography was more intense than anything the show had done previously, and there were very distinct call outs to movies/shows like Battle of Britain and Band of Brothers. From what I've heard, this episode was a turning point for the production crew. They had developed new animation technology that allowed them to make more realistic atmosphere particulates and textures, not to mention more flexibility in model movement. AND IT SHOWED!! I noticed right away and was BLOWN AWAY by some of the sequences, especially the one where Obi-Wan's ship crashed.
Tumblr media
And then there's my favorite moment, the moment that completely changed my feelings about Obi-Wan Kenobi and turned him into my favorite character (besides Luke Skywalker).
Tumblr media
Obi-Wan is badly injured, so much so that he can barely stand much less fight. But as he and his troops are being overrun by the enemy, he hauls himself to his feet and ignites his lightsaber, ready to fight with his men to the death.
Tumblr media
This single moment proved to me that he was a man of honor, valor, and strength. It showed that despite his vulnerability, he would not abandon those around him.
Tumblr media
After that I was hooked. And the rest is history 😊
Thank you so much for the ask!!! I hope you enjoyed 💜 I'm gonna go watch this episode now!!!!!

This episode puts the "Wars" in "Clone Wars" and demonstrates that the show is occasionally competent.

things i would change in lita if i were in charge:
put Rain in a dorm room instead of living at home
a large part of why Phayu/Rain doesn't work for me is because we don't get to see Rain develop on his own...ever, really. he's in college, but he's living at home, living off his parents' money, still updating his mom on his where abouts like he's in high school. he goes from being closely entwined with/dependent on them to being highly dependent on Phayu. Phayu/Rain didn't come off as "Rain's making stupid and risky decisions but that's part of growing up," which i would've enjoyed, it comes off as ".....no, seriously Rain, can you make this decision?"
moving Rain into a dorm would've given him some much needed independence. even if though he would've still been reliant on his parents financially, there's still the growth that comes from being away from your parents' daily influence, managing your own space, managing your own personal well-being, etc. that would've been Rain's starting point for independent growth. vs canon, where Rain's start in independent growth was an intensely sexual relationship with a highly independent guy (nooot really anything i'm comfortable with myself). Rain can enjoy being coddled/spoiled/etc (which i like! good for him!), but the writers never gave him a chance to figure out who he was on his own, so the relationship as is doesn't land for me :/
more Phayu interacting with the garage family
i really like the glimpses of Phayu's character that we get. he has a lot of contradictions that look like so much fun to explore, but his characterization often gets shuffled to the side in favor of kink. the most interesting Phayu scenes are always the ones where it's not just him and Rain which......really sucks. the Prapai/Sky sex scenes reveal a lot about them as individual characters as well as how they interact with each other. Phayu/Rain sex scenes kinda touch on how they act together, but the main thing they do is tell me more than i want to know about the writers' personal kinks. hell, most of what Rain learns about Phayu as a person is discovered through other people--which is really annoying! i want to be learning more about this guy through his interactions with Rain, not primarily the gossip other people tell Rain. that doesn't happen until like, ep6-7, which is the literal end of their personal arc and mostly spent away from each other. sighs.
more Saifah
quality character, highly underutilized. i love his eyerolls, but the writers never really did much with him to bring him past that point :( i can extrapolate a lot, but canon developed Sig in the second half of the show more than they did Saifah for all of it. Saifah is Phayu's literal twin brother and business partner, and some random architect student got more of a character than him. this is not a complaint on Sig, i fucking adore that guy, but it's a bizarre writing choice.
more kidnapping aftermath
seriously. what the fuck. TWO kidnapping scenarios, the entire reason why i watched this show, and you guys couldn't cut out any of the 1905t59488993e repeated scenes to give me more than 2 minutes of kidnapping aftermath? who the fuck even cares about trucks driving on roads
things i would not change in lita if i were in charge:
Chai showing up to rescue Phayu and Rain wearing a zebra print shirt. sensational. 10/10, no notes

Season 2 is the most underappreciated Clone Wars season no one gives it credit cause they didn’t give the show a chance until season 3 and they don’t wanna admit they were wrong about the first two seasons but season 2 is literally so fucking sexy from start to finish
#like first of all it's one of the few seasons where every episode is at LEAST mid tier#and then there's the fact that most of the episodes are based on different movie genres#like holocron heist is a heist movie senate spy is a political thriller#landing at point rain and weapons factory are a war movie#legacy of terror and brain invaders are a horror movie#lightsaber lost is a detective movie#senate murders is a murder mystery#cat and mouse is a submarine movie just with a space ship instead of a submarine#bounty hunters is just straight up seven samurai#and of course the zillo beast duology is a monster movie#like it's the only season that sticks to a consistent theme like this and that makes it really unique#and as much as people like to credit season 3 as the point where the animation improves i think season 2 deserves that credit#landing at point rain ALONE made several leaps forward for the show's animation#it's the first time we see the characters get really dirty and beat up#it's the first time they use the flamethrower effect#there's like an 8 second tracking shot at one point#and it's the first time we get like a really massive and chaotic battle in the show#there's always so much happening on screen at any given point in that episode it's insane#and that's not even getting into shit like the zero gravity scene in cargo of doom#or just how massive in scale the zillo beast episodes are#or the exploding droid factory in weapons factory which is also a great sound design moment#season 2 set the stage for the greatness that is season 3-onward and i will not let you nerds ignore it#in this house we respect the first two seasons or die#star wars the clone wars#star wars#shut up tristan

gojo showing off your back scratches to geto
( cont from this fic! req, visual ) .
contains: sex talk, description of back scratches, crack, sugu is called daddy once (as a joke.. right..)
Tumblr media
everything was relatively peaceful in suguru's apartment. key word: relatively.
a forgettable yet appreciated sunday afternoon, not a cloud in sight despite the weather forecast predicting downpours of rain. either way, the raven-haired man insouciantly rested across his white couch, reaching the conclusion that today would be a day for self-care, relaxing, and perhaps some meditation.
there was only one thing ruining his peace.
all morning, suguru has been forced to try and ignore the stain a certain someone has left on his couch — a pair of unecessarily expensive yet dirty shoes being the culprit.
despite these attempts, every once in a while his gaze can't help but wander over at the mark — as if it'd poof out of existence if he glared hard enough.
"fuckin' asshole.." he mutters. it was a wonder his relationship with his best friend managed to stay so promising despite all their differences, yet suguru wouldn't have it any other way, even after situations like this.
right when he grumpily turns back to the tv — which was playing some crappy, low budget rom-com — his apartment door is yanked open and suguru swears he nearly jumps out of his seat.
great, was this it? was he about to get robbed, perhaps evicted? and then probably die? forced into the afterlife knowing gojo's shoe-shit was still on his new couch? no that can't—
"i fucked her!"
suguru whips his head towards the apartment door, announcement being disregarded as he nearly groans in agony. speak of the devil.
big blue eyes peak out from under circular sunglasses, one hand already raised in preparation for a dap up while his stupid, big, dirty shoe pushes the door closed behind him. gojo wears a black compression shirt with grey sweats, marching over to his friend with a ginormous grin across his cheeks.
"take your shoes off, now," suguru snaps, nodding to his friend's feet with a frown.
"yeesh... whatever y'say, daddy," the bastard never loses his smile as his hands raise in surrender, kicking them off by the door smoothly. "what's got your panties in a twist?"
geto pinches his nose bridge. "don't call me that," as he continues the scolding, he points to the living room with his free hand. "you got a mystery stain on my couch, satoru. do you know how many youtube videos i watched trying to get this shit off?"
unphased, gojo takes a look at the strangely colored blob against the armrest's leather material and shrugs. "my bad. did you try febreeze?"
"what— no? dude, febreeze is for.." when suguru looks back up to sourly meet his gaze, he could immediately tell the white-haired man was already drifting back into la-la-land, words going in one ear and out the other. "..nevermind. why're you here?"
at the reminder, satoru seemingly brightens, head shooting back up as if he was just told he'd won the lottery.
"oh god, don't make that stupid face—" he pauses. "the fuck are you doing?" suguru might as well say goodbye to his self-care day, because now gojo was stripping in the middle of his living room, shirt thrown haphazardly onto the still-very-much-stained couch.
"just look!" suguru squints as his friend swivels around to face the wall, pushing his bangs away to get a better view of the— oh shit.
it takes the raven-haired man a second to process what he's seeing before shuffling forward, closely examining the achingly red, bulging scratch marks displayed sexily across the latter's back and shoulders. "no way.."
suguru knows the strongest sorcerer well enough to notice how he purposely didn't use reversed cursed technique on these scratches, just so it'd be obvious to anyone that caught a glimpse of what exactly occured. to his further dismay, he can already picture a smug and sweaty gojo walking around their local gym like this, proud simper on his pretty lips as he easily raises a pair of weights in his veiny hands.
a hiss escapes geto's mouth as he runs his finger down a particularly agitated one, knowing exactly how painful they could be after experiencing many hook-ups of his own. even so, satoru only licks his lips, neck craning to the side so he can pride himself in his friend's gobsmacked expression.
"damn, these are deep. you actually hit it?" suguru confirms, raising a celebratory hand.
turning back around, satoru daps him up, a massive smirk now on both their faces. "hell yeah, it was amazing."
it was impossible to predict what gojo would do next after barging through his front door — especially considering how many times he's done so — but this has to be the last thing suguru ever expected.
not that he was complaining — in fact, all of geto's temper and need for relaxation seemingly flew out the window, the feeling of proudness for his best friend overthrowing anything else.
and even if he hated to admit it, the way gojo was so eager to come over and announce his virginity loss to him was more than a little endearing, and dare he say cute.
"that's great, man. congrats." suguru leads him into the kitchen — still shamelessly shirtless — to grab them both a can of beer in celebration. while the white-haired man usually didn't get involved with any form of alcohol, this occasion was most definitely exception-worthy. "you made y/n cum too, right?"
an offended glare is shot his way. "duh, two times."
"huh. surprised you could last."
as suguru pours their drinks into two fragile cups, gojo exhales, not bothered in the slightest by his jab. "dude, same.." he admits dreamily. "she was so fuckin' tight and warm.. and oh— fuck, her moans? heavenly.. 'can't believe i didn't bust after the first minute.."
geto gulps, trying his best to ignore the mental image his brain was producing from his dirty words. you can't blame him — both of you were smoking hot, and he was a simple man.
even now, he could already imagine what you both looked like; panting and moaning, skin-slapping so loud that it echoed through the whole room, how blissed out you'd look as gojo's cock split you in t—
satoru's playful sigh cuts through the tensing air. "who knows sugs, maybe you'll have another kind of stain to worry about next time we're over~"
he's never snapped out of a daydream so quickly. "don't even joke about that."
over the next hour, the two men sat manspread on the stained couch, taking leisure sips while recalling satoru's final moments as a virgin — suguru giving out his secret tips and tricks along the way.
maybe sometime, suguru could offer some.. hands-on learning instead.

Hi! Just wanna raise some awareness here because South America is on fucking fire and I need to see more people talking about this.
Tumblr media
Source: RSOE EDIS x
Im just going to talk about the ones i'm closest to, but if you know about these fires, feel free to add in the reblogs!
Chile
In Chile there's (up to Feb 5) 160 wild fires, of which 40 are still trying to be controlled by authorities. The president, Gabriel Boric, has declared State of Emergency in the whole country, and theres a Red Alert Code in most part of the country.
Isla de Chiloé, Southern Chile (900 km away from Santiago de Chile)
This is a (recently controlled) fire that lasted a week, but many neighborhoods were burnt to the ground.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The whole South is in red alert for constant sudden fires that spread quickly due to the lack of rain and the elevated temperatues in the zone. Just today, two fires had to be controlled in the main land next to this island, and more are being reported in the Los Lagos region. This is added to the "controlled" intentional fires that farmers make to clean their fields of old crops along the Central-South parts of the country, mostly surrunding the main route, Ruta 5, that connects the whole country, thus making it hard to see and breathe because of the smoke. (flashnews, most of them get out of control quickly.)
Valparaiso/Viña del Mar, Central Chile (100 km away from Santiago de Chile)
Tumblr media
A fire that started on Friday 2nd and grew exponentially because of the wind and the dry, hot climate. More than 100 people are dead, with 70 unrecognized bodies and other 400 that have dissapeared. At least 30000 people that have lost everything to the fire.
There's massive evacuations from this and the neighboring city, Viña Del Mar.
This is said to be the second most deadly fire in the century, surpased by Australia in 2009.
45000+ hectares that include land and neighborhoods have been burnt down.
I could go on about this one, so more info here and here
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Argentina
Parque Los Alerces (Esquel), Chubut
The fire strarted on the 25th January, and the climate has made it hard to contain. 3000 hectares of native forest have been burnt to teh ground. It is now growing in the direction of the nearest city, Esquel. Theres been evacuations between yesterday and today (4 and 5th Febuary)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Parque Nahuel Huapi (Bariloche), Río Negro
The reason why im writing this. The city woke up today covered in smoke after a wildfire developed yesterday during the night. The reason? A fireplace that was not turned off in a place where people cannot disembark and can only be reached via boats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As of now, there's not much information about the fire but hopefully the firefighters will be able to contain it before it reaches Tronador Mountain, where an ancient glaciar is.
...which leads me to the other point i wanted to talk about.
Firefighters
They volunteer to do this job.
In Argentina and Chile, firefighting is not rewarded with a salary, and most of the times they dont even have full firehouses to stay in. These people are at their houses, ready to jump into action and run to the station the second the alarm goes off.
They are neighbors, people that risk their lives and run into danger willingly, just because they want to help the community.
I felt the need to give a shout-out to these people and say:
Don't be a fucking dick, don't start fires in the woods unless it's an approved place, and if you do, TURN IT OFF.
Pour abundant water on it, and do not stop when you don't see any more flames.
Keep pouring water until the ashes don't burn/feel like room temperature in your hand if you put it 10 cm away from it, and even then, pour some more just to be sure.
No heat and no smoke mean a safely extinguished fire.
Save lives and forests.
