Armies clash with a kingdom's crown at stake. (Larry Elmore cover for AD&D module I14: Swords of the Iron Legion, TSR, 1988) I14 is "an anthology of adventures set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for large-scale battle using the Battlesystem rules for mass combat," with eight linked scenarios, each including an AD&D adventure and a Battlesystem battle, plus three shorter miniature scenarios.

Dragon 200 (December, 1993). Cover by Larry Elmore primarily, though the hologram is derived from Jeff Easley’s big red dragon. There’s a lot going on here! Obviously, this is a big fancy cover celebrating the 200th issue (interesting contrast with the subdued 150th issue cover). Larry Elmore’s spellcasters are casting spells, and there are lots of arcane doo-dads laying around. Elmore is really good at putting together a plausible portrayal of arcane operations. I am a little underwhelmed by the hologram and the composition it required, though I suppose it has a campy charm. For no particular reason, I feel like this is the last really notable Dragon cover by the Big 4 (Elmore, Easley, Caldwell and Parkinson).
