Another Sketchy Saturday completed over at the @artistsoftheapocalypse !

I won’t lie coming off of Shippy Saturday took a lot out of me, even after a week of rest! Spent the entire day today just animal crossing and relaxing so a little late on my doodle post :3c

WE want YOUR take on the ARTISTS OF THE APOCALYPSE SIGIL!

Hey there, friends, followers, and fans! In recent days, we've been hyping up the July 11th anniversary stream, as well as the impending launch of Artists of the Apocalypse! Because of that, you've probably seen THIS symbol a whole bunch.

This is my original mock-up for the Artists of the Apocalypse, or AoTA's, sigil. It's based off of the Followers of the Apocalypse's symbol, only the cross in the middle is generally white and/or made up of creative implements. My original mock-up was based on a tablet pen, a paint brush, and a pencil.

BUT! That's not the only way to make this symbol! See, the whole idea was that everyone could have their own take on it, and it would still be recognizable. For example...

@theartofblossoming made their own AoTA sigil in their game with found objects! This is a great take, and exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for when I first put the symbol together; that people would be able to remix it and put their own spin on it. Which leads us to why I'm making this post:

As of today, the submission box @artistsoftheapocalypse is OPEN, and I'd like to see y'alls take on our new symbol!

I'll be publishing submissions as they arrive, making them the very first posts on the new blog.

I'll also be showing the submissions off during the July 11th stream, to gush about what everyone has done with the design! :D

Feel free to make it in any way [ Digital, traditional, photography, yarn, thread, fabric, wood, clay, junked shit in your back yard, found objects in a Fallout game or in your house, hell you can make it in MINECRAFT and Loor will say 'FUCK YEA!' because that's awesome ] and out of any material you please. And here's a base if you'd like a foundation to work off of [ but you don't have to use it if you've got a different idea! ]:

PLEASE include your username in submissions, and how/what you made your sigil out of. Remember that ANY creative implements count!!

And... if you're looking for ideas, I've got a few under the cut :3

HEY LOOK AT ALL THESE CREATIVE TOOLS PEOPLE USE

Pens, pencils, markers

Charcoal, pastels, and crayons

Candle wax [block or already shaped into a candle]

Crochet hook, knitting needles, sewing needles of all shapes and sizes

Wood sticks and otherwise one may use to create architecture mockups

Scrap paper folded up or rolled [ YEAH! THE PAPER COUNTS! ]

A bolt of cloth

Clay shaping tools

Jewelers/smithy tools

Glue, adhesives, and caustics used in various model making work

Leather working tools

Musical instruments of all flavors, or simply a recognizable piece of it; such as the mallets for a xylophone or the bow of a violin

COOKING implements! DAMN RIGHT cooking is creative! You MAKE food!

And JESUS CHRIST SO MUCH MORE!

Basically, here's the limitus test; do people use this tool to MAKE something that IMPROVES life, but ISN'T necessarily REQUIRED to live? Then it probably works. GO NUTS MY FRIENDS! I am so excited to see what y'all come up with :D

And like many people on this website, me and this crew got a soft spot in our hearts for Spooky Season-- and I'm not just talking about Halloween. It seems that around this time of year I always learn about some new fun tradition, so for our first prompt of October? We're gonna play with one of mine: Face Painting!

This week, we will be focusing on the faces of requested Fallout characters, and then adding some festive face paint!
