1st Camp Jupiter Legionnaire: Did you hear? Percy Jackson turned down praetorship!? 2nd CJ Legionnaire: I know, that's crazy! I would die to even get into upper leadership. The benefits are insane. Private baths, private offices, the additional pay, getting a personal pegasus... CHB Camper, walking by: You guys do know what Percy already has his own pegasus, right? And a super powerful trained hellhound capable of shadow travelling him anywhere he wants? 1st CJ Legionnaire: 2nd CJ Legionnaire: CHB Camper: Also, Percy was the equivalent of CHB's praetor during the Titan War. 1st CJ Legionnaire, frosty: I see. So he's choosing the Greeks over us- CHB Camper: Oh, no. You don't get it. Percy turned down godhood from Zeus less than a year ago. Word around camp is that he's retired from the demigod life and wants to live in the mortal world. 1st CJ Legionnaire: *stunned* 2nd CJ Legionnaire: *stunned* 2nd CJ Legionnaire, faint: Forget praetorship, he turned down WHAT from WHO!?!?!?!??!

Re-reading some reboot Legion of Superheroes and is that Shampoo from Ranma 1/2 in the background? Wonder how many more anime cameos there are since Jeff Moy is a fan of anime and manga after all.

Why yes I'm still mad that what was proclaimed to be the most inclusive version of the Legion of Super-Heroes ended up being the most offensive version by far.
I mean it's kind of funny but not funny "ha ha."

Post-Zero Hour Legion of Super-Heroes Reading List.
I am ever so delighted that since I finished the MAIN series I have had 4 people in my DMs wanting to know an official reading order. This is amazing. So for those who might be a little more message shy here is a list for you to take, keep, and read.
You might see this order and think it's weird, trust me it, it is. The reason why it is weird is because 1.) the Zero Hour event in 1994 rebooted the team in the middle of two books, so the creators drafted up a new start with a #0 issue and 2.) LOSH had two books per month.
Anyway, here is your primary PZH LOSH guide.
Legions of Super-Heroes (1989) has been shortened to "LOSH 1989" for simplicity.
Primary Run
LOSH 1989 #0
Legionnaires #0
LOSH 1989 #62
Legionnaires #19 then you switch back and forth and the comics will guide you where to go at the end of each issue. You do this all the way until the series ends. Don't forget the annuals!
Legion Lost 2000
Legion Worlds
The Legion
Teen Titans/Legion Special - The "end" of their run
Final Crisis: Legion of the Three Worlds - They are revealed to be alive still! Bart and Kon are brought back from dead.
Other Specials and Fun Things
Titans/Legion of Super-Heroes: Universe Ablaze - Read this sometime in the last 10 issues of the primary run.
Legion: Secret Files
Legion of Super-Heroes Secret Files
Showcase '96 Issues #11 & #12 - LOSH '89 should tell you when to jump to these two, you will read them when Querl and the lost Legionnaires are stranded in 1996.
Genesis 1997 - The Genesis Event, you will read this sometime during the time the Legionnaires are stranded in the 90s.
Inferno 1997 - A mini for Inferno, you should read this after Inferno breaks from the stranded Legionnaires in the 90s.
Adventures in the DC Universe Issue #10 - Just a fun little story.
There are many other appearances of this team in the 90s comics, particularly when they are stranded in the 1990s. Their book is particularly good however at informing you where to go, and if they appeared somewhere else.
Thank you, and happy reading.

Aegroto, dum anima est, spes est.*
- Quintus Ennius
While the sick person has life, there is hope.*
Sometimes referred to as the 'Battle of the Bandages' scene, this depicts a scene from Trajan's Column in Rome. It contains the only known depiction of Roman soldiers receiving medical treatment in battle. Look carefully to the right and see a Roman soldier bandage another wounded comrade.

November 1989. Launched three months after the end of the previous LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES book, Keith Giffen's "v4" series remains the Legion's most controversial phase. Set five years after the end of the outgoing book, it stripped the gloss from the Legion's future: 30th Century Earth has withdrawn from the United Planets and is sinking into xenophobic, totalitarian isolationism; the Legion has disbanded, its members and allies scattered to the winds. Some characters are dead, maimed, missing, or imprisoned; a few are now collaborators; and the rest are preoccupied with their own problems. Former Legionnaire Reep Daggle (Chameleon Boy), now fabulously wealthy, decides the only solution is to put the band back together, but the universe has problems that may be too big for an organization of aging former teen superheroes.
Tumblr media
Dense, complex, and often quite dark, the storyline begins in medias res, and it takes some time to piece together what's going on (to say nothing of trying to keep straight the no-longer-costumed characters, who have real names like "Rokk Krinn"). However, there's actual substance to reward the effort, and scripters Tom & Mary Bierbaum bring the characters to vivid life. People who enjoyed BABYLON 5, DEEP SPACE NINE, or BATTLESTAR GALACTICA would probably also find much to enjoy here, although those unfamiliar with the Legion may need a cheat-sheet, and it's perhaps best to assume that the series ends after issue #36, the end of the "Terra Mosaic" arc.
This run was frequently hampered by ongoing editorial feuds, not due to its content (although that rubbed many longtime readers the wrong way), but because of issues related to the Legion's lingering ties to Superman, which resulted in a number of further continuity shuffles. Giffen actually quit several times during the run, leaving the Bierbaums floundering (issues without Giffen's name on them are usually a mess), and his final storyline in #38–#40 was an extremely bitter pill that broke the setting so thoroughly that a corrective continuity reset was basically inevitable. After his departure, the Bierbaums remained through issue #50 (and for most of the run of the ill-advised LEGIONNAIRES spinoff book), but with no direction and little editorial support, it was increasingly hopeless. DC eventually opted for an infuriating reboot that scrapped 45 years of Legion history in favor of a return to cutesy teen heroes with silly names. (Giffen's intended resolution wouldn't have been much better; his plan was to eventually reveal that the adult Legionnaires were all clones — as with Marvel's ill-fated Ben Reilly Spider-Clone storyline — which would also have been very dire.) The Legion has never really recovered, despite a further succession of partial or total reboots.

Reep's 'crush' on Kon was pretty cute ngl.
Kon saved him in the time-stream and Reep was ever afterwards pro-Superboy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Ai laikk him" = I like him ❤️
Tumblr media
"Yoo no thass pairson" = You know this person?
He Immediately checks on Kon to make sure he is okay after a minor scuffle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Kon is in mortal danger Reep goes into an absolute rage and is able to break out of the crystal barrier he was trapped in. It also is the only reason why the team survived this because they all got their asses kicked.
Tumblr media
The look on this poor boy's face when they are saying goodbye to him.
Regrettably, Kon is busy flirting with Querl so he doesn't notice.
Tumblr media
Reep is the only one who is really upset he's gone and starts crying over it.
It was these little details that made this series so well done even in the 90s.
