Let there be Light
You probably noticed that one of the lamps in Aziraphale’s bookshop goes out after he gets into the elevator, clearly visible in the final shot. But of course this is Good Omens and the lamps aren’t just lamps, so let’s slither inside for a better look at what’s going on. Sometimes a little perspective change makes all the difference.
The twin lamps are actually statues of two brass cherubs facing the interior of the bookshop — their own world — just like the two angels we saw Before the Beginning facing the creation of the solar system, their current home. Aziraphale always on the left, Crowley on the right.
The fact that it’s the right — Crowley’s — lamp that broke at the end of the Final Fifteen can mean two things. Either the light of his life has left him that morning and the lamp reflects his loss, or just like a porch lamp it indicates that he’s the one not home, but in Heaven.

a vote for the gentle light, charles bukowski
burned senseless by other people’s constant
depression,
I pull the curtains apart,
aching for the gentle light.
it’s there, it’s there
somewhere,
I’m sure.
oh, the faces of depression, expressions
pulled down into the gluey dark.
the bitter small sour mouths,
the self-pity, the self-justification is
too much, all too much.
the faces in shadow,
deep creases of gloom.
there’s no courage there, just the desire to
possess something––admiration, fame, lovers,
money, any damn thing
so long as it comes easy.
so long as they don’t have to do
what’s necessary.
and when they don’t succeed they
become embittered,
ugly,
they imagine that they have
been slighted, cheated,
demeaned.
then they concentrate upon their
unhappiness, their last
refuge.
and they’re good at that,
they are very good at that.
they have so much unhappiness
they insist upon your sharing it
too.
they bathe and splash in their
unhappiness,
they splash it upon you.
it’s all they have.
it’s all they want.
it’s all they can be.
you must refuse to join them.
you must remain yourself.
you must open the curtains
or the blinds
or the windows
to the gentle light.
to joy.
it’s there in life
and even in death
it can be
there.

Thinking about how the tool that angel Crowley used to activate the blueprints for the nebula is now the crank handle in the Bentley. The only part of the car that survived the explosion along with the logo ornament. Which Crowley then used to restart time after pausing it when Satan appeared during the non-Apocalypse.
The fact that he kept it throughout the millennia, a keepsake of when he was a joyous star creator.
The fact that it is now what powers the Bentley, the thing that he is so connected to that he FEELS it from afar.

We were watching a movie at class yesterday. When it finished the professor asked a student to turn on the lights again.
While doing so he said: “Let there be light”.
Unfortunately I was too shy to ask if that was a Good Omens reference or just a Biblical reference lol

I know that in s1 they made it clear that when angels and demons click to perform a miracle demons gesture upwards while angels gesture downwards. When angel Crowley said "let there be light" he clicked downwards like an angel.
I know this is probably obvious but I thought that it was a nice detail that they remembered.

I made a thing! It’s been over a month since GO2 came out and I can assure you none of the feels have dissipated. This show does more than haunt; it possesses. I don’t paint fan art, I don’t paint people, and I don’t paint happy clouds. For them, however, I have done it all. Why? Love. (Sorry Neil, I had to. The possession, remember?) I gave this a bit of a Fall Out Boy title (as most of my painting titles are a bit meandering). “Before he sauntered vaguely downward, Angel, he cast his last stars for you. All while grasping towards his favourite.” I chose these blues and yellows because S2 is chalk FULL of blue and yellow in set and costume design. Not just in the main characters and spaces; it’s all over the extras and cars driving through the scenes. I love them, I love their love, and I am forever beholden to @neil-gaiman and his creations.
