trans people do not need to pass as cis before their identity/gender is taken seriously. sure, it’s great for some to be told that they pass, as it can feel amazing to be told you are seen the way you identify but that isn’t the case for all. some may prefer to be seen more feminine/masculine (just like cis people do) and that’s okay!! they should still be respected!! it’s the same for nonbinary folk and anyone that doesn’t fit as ‘man’ or ‘woman’, they don’t have to look androgynous or the way you expect them to.

tips for queer people going to pride this year

i saw a tiktok on this but i can't find it so i'm just going to type it out here

Wear what you want, but make it something that will not hinder or restrict your movement if you need to run. This includes sneakers, shorts or pants that you're able to move fast in, and nothing too flowy that could cause someone to be able to grab you easily.

If you're going with friends, make sure you have a primary and secondary meeting point if something goes wrong. Make it somewhere away from the event and out of sight - if a shooter comes through and sees you near the event, you could be a victim.

Do not engage with hecklers. As much as you might want to, this is not the time to enrage homophobes who might be carrying and give them 'a reason' to enact violence. Always assume they are armed and looking for a fight.

Have a designated Sober Friend. Have fun all you want, but someone in your group needs to be sober to be able to make rational decisions if something happens.

it's heartbreaking that i even have to make this post, but i genuinely want everyone to stay safe this Pride. have fun, be proud of who you are, but most importantly, please stay safe.

These two got One Step Forward, Two Steps Back banned in some countries due to the possibility of them being read as a lesbian couple, although Tommy Andreasen said it's up to the viewer to decide:

Cole is, in my opinion and a lot of other people's opinions, queercoded. Him admitting to his dad that he's not a dancer, he's a ninja feels like a queer coming out scene. He's even implied to be demisexual/demiromantic, as he tells Lloyd he doesn't like Vania "like that" because he just met her (in my eyes this implies he doesn't feel attraction until he gets to know someone. I'd even go as far as to call him demiplatonic, due to how his dynamic with people evolves as he gets to know them, seen with Kai, the Upply, Vania, and others).
