I am convinced now that by how we saw Miguel chasing Miles like a fucking unstoppable beast, going up a moving hypersonic train with the strenght of his body plus claws alone then bodyslapped Miles without losing grip, breaking through glass and walls then jumping with ferocity several meters in the air to get to the Go Home Machine while punching and breaking things in the way, all while showcasing a furious expression, and also if you forgot, was about to bite the Vulture with huge fangs to parlize him, that most if not ALL enemies that have faced Miguel body to body have ended up with therapy counseling or some type of monetary compensation for the sole trauma of having such a dark Spider-Man coming after them.
Like imagine you are the Green Goblin facing the equivalent of a twink teenager Spider-Man in another universe, and then a portal opens and a HUGE larger-than-life version of the twink storms through and tackles you with the force of a truck, freaking bites you and paralizes you, only for him to carry you out to his futuristic dimension where you are put in an energy chamber. No starky monologue, no jokes, nothing more than pure rage and nothing to lose coming your way.
Yikes that has to leave a scar somehow.

Blu finds him intresting despite his grouchiness towards her. carrie and blu - le moi Mus is @starkie-rad ‘s oc for the expensive cheese ship kimi is @animation-is-my-jam ‘s bean. However…
A hardstyle music start to play in the background. That is odd? You could have swore that you heard only just seagull cawing and the ocean waves with car driving and the smell of gas in your nostril. You listen to the music carefully and felt drowsy, not before picking up the beautiful melody. A familiar melody.
Your eyes widen in absolute shock and fear. Your mind went down memory lane, when The Magical High Commission and Dari, with inside help, manage to saves you.
“Interesting,” said the Magic Aficionado, Dari Oridonia-Bloomgren examined you. You felt uncomfortable when being watch. Especially when you were in your mermaid form. You hate being the center of attention. “Who would have thought a mewman is powerful enough to put a mermaid to sleep. Wish I were there for further research.”
“Be careful what you wish for. Wishes do have consequences as well,” said Rune, a member of The Magic High Commission. Then they turned to you. Their eyes are serious and concern for your safety. “Don’t listen to her music, Princess Cordelia,” they said. “You’re lucky you made it back alive. She is a dangerous criminal.”
Remembering Rune’s warning, you grabs a hold of your best friend’s hand and fleeing to safety.
“Oh no, no, no! I should have listen to Rune’s warning! And Dari’s-!” You said, then quickly realize something. “I need to get her advice!”
Phoebe, your best friend and current wielder of your wand is surprise and do not know what it is going on. The music and your reaction.
“Since when you listen to Dari?” Phoebe questioned.
As you and your best friend run for safety, Sloth, also known as Morphea Greason Butterfly take a notice of the two girls fleeing. It is absolutely tiring to look at the two, after finally coming to this universe. Oh well. They will never escape her concert. Meanwhile Apollo, whose listen to Morphea’s music, sadly passed out and is now sleeping on the pavement. Oof.

Hi there! Welcome to my webcomic blog !
Tumblr media
Scarlet Hunt is a fantasy/mystery webcomic I've ultimately been working on and developing since 2013.
The story is set in an old timey, cozy little country known as Zangak, where anthropomorphic creatures of all kinds live in a society. However, one day, something weird happens. All the little forest critters have turned into giant, hungry monsters!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
We follow Kagra, a happy yet mischievous 13 year-old girl who is generally well-liked by others, but who still has a lot to learn about the world. When the monsters start appearing, she becomes concerned for her friend, Starky, who happens to be living a cozy life by himself in the woods, and suggest they go to her place for the night. However, she has no idea that from that night on, she will get involved in a crazy adventure, and unintentionally learn about the dark truths behind the strange events that have been happening around her along the way. As things become more and more dangerous outside, she tries to work out a way for things to go back to normal, and is given a golden opportunity to do so.
But can she manage to do such a thing while staying alive...?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The comic itself isn't complete, but I'll be posting about it here along with lots of cool stuff. I hope you'll enjoy your stay, and thank you so much for reading!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Links!
Kofi : Mostly used as a tip jar, but I like posting exclusive things like concept at, color palette tests, sketch pages and beta content on there too! There are lots of things you can view for free ^^
Scarlet Hunt website : Hosted by comicfury, this is where I mainly post my pages. If you're up to date on here and you want to read more of the story, you can do it here!
Toyhouse: Needs some work still, but it's where I store all my characters! I've also been putting together a species masterlist in my downtime :)
Artists in Wonderland - Number 3
Welcome to Artists in Wonderland! Running till the 4th of July, I’ve been counting down My Top 10 Favorite Illustrators for “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland!” Today we’ve entered the Top Three! The Lewis Carroll stories of Alice are as immortal as they are odd, and many great artists have handled them in different ways. This countdown will pay homage to just a few of them. Our 3rd Place illustrator is considered one of the most definitive and classic. Today’s artist is Arthur Rackham!
Tumblr media
At first glance, Rackham was not the obvious choice to be an illustrator for “Alice.” He started off his working life as a fire insurance agent, of all things, and later became a reporter and occasional illustrator for tabloid magazines in the late 1800s. (A job he despised, outright referring to these endeavors as “hack work.”) However, ever since he was a child, Rackham had always loved various pieces of fiction, and had also always had a passion for art. It wasn’t until he married his wife - painter Edyth Starkie - that he was encouraged to pursue his artistic endeavors more fervently. Starting in 1905, and lasting well into the mid-1930s (before his eventual passing in 1939), Rackham illustrated numerous books of fantasy, mythology, and folklore. Among his most famous volumes are an illustrated version of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (because…yeah, apparently illustrating stage plays is/was a thing), and editions of Grimm’s Fairy-Tales, Rip Van Winkle, Gulliver’s Travels, and a collection of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, not to mention horror stories like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow or the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Rackham’s work, in many ways, revolutionized illustration as an art form. For one thing, it was largely thanks to Rackham that the typical format of publication we know today, for so many books, exists. His art style was inimitable by common engravers, who had previously been the ones who allowed greater mass production of illustrations. Due to the technology of the time, he could have his pieces photographically reproduced, which allowed his detailed linework to stand uninhibited. However, such techniques were costly, so to subsidize things, he and his publishers would have the books first published in special limited editions with hardcovers, some of these even autographed by the illustrator himself. Then, later on, they would also publish less expensive editions for the mass market, ensuring that the illustrator and his publishers would make their money back, one way or another. This is how many books are still published today. Rackham tackled Wonderland in 1907; one of his earliest creations. That was the year the copyright on Carroll’s books ran out, and almost immediately after that happened, Rackham’s publishers commissioned him to create a new illustrated edition of the stories. The man leapt at the chance: the “Alice” stories were among his favorite books, and he relished the chance to bring his own unique spin to the characters and settings of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” At the time, Rackham’s illustrations were somewhat controversial: keep in mind, for years, Sir John Tenniel’s illustrations were the ONLY ones around. Rackham certainly kept Tenniel’s concepts in mind when he made his own pictures for the book, but went in a different, unique direction that was totally his own, at the same time. In a way, it was Arthur Rackham who opened the door to all the other illustrators we’ve discussed so far: he was one of the first, and certainly the best, to immediately follow Tenniel, and showed that there were always new ways of interpreting old classics. What I love about Rackham’s illustrations for “Alice” is the mood he creates. His Wonderland is, as has been described by one reviewer on the subject, “both grotesque and tender.” The characters just look…off, in a lot of places, but there’s also a lot of humor and magic to his world. His color palette is also more muted - lots of browns and grays, with even the brighter hues, such as green and red, being less intense than you’ll find in most illustrations before or since. His Wonderland feels somehow cozy and creepy at the same time, it’s a feeling that’s difficult to describe, yet so completely his own. It’s also clever how Rackham sticks to the source, so to speak. He keeps to a lot of the rules Tenniel set, but he designs things in a way that is absolutely his own. The characters are still recognizable from the earlier precedents, but they aren’t exactly the same. They somehow seem both more realistic and yet more bizarre than ever before, at the same time. His work is also more detailed, more lush than Tenniel’s original illustrations. Most noticeably, the backgrounds are much more exotic and meticulously crafted, really bringing Wonderland to life in a way that hadn’t been done before. Unfortunately, despite the impact of Rackham’s illustrations, getting hold of the book isn’t so easy nowadays. As far as I can tell, the only affordable way to buy it is via Pook Press: these publishers specialize in reprinting a lot of vintage-age books at affordable prices, and they have a whole collection of “Alice” editions with various old-time illustrators, including Arthur Rackham’s edition. Last I checked, the Pook Press Rackham book was available on Amazon, and I think there are e-book copies as well, if you look around. If you can, definitely check this version out.
The funny thing is, I don't even have to really direct this. Since I shoved millions of friends minds up her disassociative ass, the gnosis calculator just reads out what the fuck is going to compel her brainless empty husk today, and it's becoming very fucking funny. They'll drive her insane-r all on their own without my help, I just make it even funnier and louder.
When your identity is everyone's but your own, to avoid accountability. Here we are.
Honestly this is getting REALLY BAD FOR HER if even kangaroo spam is pulling up into her life and choices. She probably has no actual fucking idea what her own decisions are or would be anymore, it's just a collective pushing her around, and she knows so little about her fucking self, she doesn't know who she is in there, so they'll drive her around and make choices, and she won't even notice. There is no "I" in her to notice it. She refuses to look at it even when it's screaming at her inside and throwing her to therapy.
BANANA DIVISION AUDITION (CHARACTER)
word count: 337
name: cheng lingshan
name meaning to become a mountain or an unbreakable spirit. ling shan keeps his name's meaning in mind seriously. he never lets anything break him down. this may not mean that he doesn't break down others. he may not mean to be rude out of hatred, but he just doesn't actually care if he hurts anyone's feelings.
personality:
ling shan's personality is rough around the edges. he has a snarky attitude. but he uses it as a shell. he's sarcastic, has no filter, is a bit gossipy, and is a bit disliked. his personality is much like kim wonhae's characters in strong woman do bong soon. his character enjoys ruffling feathers of everyone in the office.
backstory
cheng lingshan lived in china all of his life with his very wealthy family. he came to korea for a challenge, but ended up owing someone and the only way to pay it back was to work with the company. he doesn't like that he owes someone. people in the company don't believe that he is as rich as he actually is. he's an only child, and extremely spoiled when it comes to his mother.
quirks:
rolls eyes often.
gives starky responces.
very sarcastic
easily annoyed
attitude problem
interests:
he likes movies, fashion, and things that are expensive. the only sport he enjoys is soccer. he used to play it for the private school that he went to. he also has started dabbling in graphic arts and designing packing designs.
how do they react under stress/pressure:
lingshen usually keeps his cool under pressure. granted he's even more pissy/bitchy when he's stressed. but usually it doesn't seem like much of a difference than his usually personality.
education background:
because of his family background, he does have a degree in business. that's why his family is confused by why exactly he's staying at a job he "hates", and everyone at the company thinks he's a compulsive liar because what person with a master's degree in business administration.
50 Women Over 50 Podcast: Confidence Born Out Of Experience
In its brief history (2005? -- present) podcasting has been dominated by men. As podcasting has become more popular, women have engaged more with the medium, both as podcasters and as listeners. According to Podnews, women have started closing the gender gap in the last five years. In 2017, only 44 percent of U.S. 18+ monthly podcast listeners were female. In 2022, 48 percent are female, more closely mirroring the U.S. population.
In their report, Podnews reported that over half of women listeners say they would listen to more podcasts if there were more that included female stories and perspectives (55 percent). And 52 percent say they would listen to more podcasts if there were more hosted by women.
So with that background of growing female representation in making, hosting, and listening to podcasts, it's no surprise that a podcast like 50 Women Over 50 would thrive in today's crowded podcast marketplace.
  50 Women Over 50 ismarketed as: "A podcast for women whose personal confidence is borne of experience. Interviews with 50 women to learn how they see the world; what lessons they've learned; what advice they have for the listeners."
Creator and host Sherilynne Starkie has plenty of experience in media in a number of roles. She has worked in marketing and PR agencies for more than 20 years in Canada, Britain, and the USA (including running her own agency).
Starkie started out as a writer, then became an editor and a publication manager. She then moved into media relations, internal communications, and other marketing communications, such as direct mail and email marketing.
Blogging since 2004, Starkie admits, "I've developed a deep understanding of Internet marketing and social networks. I built a reputation as a social media ‘guru’ back when that was the fashion, and today digital communications is at the center of my work."
Starkie continues: "Lately, I’ve been helping organizations deal with some big challenges–everything from dealing with market disruption (think Uber) to aging workforces (think trade unions) to reputation management (think citizen engagement)."
Started in October 2022, the podcast began fittingly with Anna Epps, a professional portrait photographer who had a similar goal as Starkie. In Epps's case, she wanted to photograph 50 women over 50 before her 50th birthday. She's now photographed over 300 women, and her profile made for a terrific first episode that set the tone for the podcast going forward.
One of my favorite episodes is a recent one. Marjorie Turner Hollman celebrated turning 50 by getting married to a younger man.  She has written four best-selling Easy Walks books and has recently released her fifth book, a personal memoir entitled, My Liturgy of Easy Walks: Reclaiming Hope in a World Turned Upside Down.
Tullman is a fascinating guest, evincing a strength of character and vulnerability that is captivating. In the episode, she tells Starkie that her husband convinced her to use these ski poles to help her hike and navigate trails. She admits that she resisted that suggestion because she dislikes change, which is an attribute we can all understand.
Since life-saving surgery left her paralyzed on her right side almost 30 years ago, Tullman has been on, what she calls, "a healing journey." That journey included walking outdoor trails throughout New England. Her books focus on helping others, especially those with mobility challenges, get out and enjoy the outdoors.
In the episode, Starkie shows her strong hosting skills. Podcast hosting is difficult enough, but when you have to interview a guest every episode, the degree of difficulty approaches that of a quadruple jump in figure skating. Starkie is definitely up to the task. She knows how to help her guests unfold their stories gradually and not blurt out everything at once.
Starkie is prepared and not afraid to blend her opinions, experiences, and insights into the interview. That is extremely difficult to do. She does it well, like a perfect martini with three olives, of course. As the producer, Starkie brings solid production values to the podcast, and the background music handles its role perfectly -- as an intro, an outro, and a transition signal. Another episode of note welcomed award-winning newscaster Rita Rich from Westwood One, who describes her grief at suddenly becoming a widow. As she entered her fifth decade, Rita became the primary caregiver for her aged parents-in-law. A short time after they both passed, Rita also lost the love of her life. Her husband Chuck died suddenly, and she found herself on her own for the first time ever.
“You go into a sense of shock. You'll always love them, but it takes a while to fall out of love,” explains Rita. “It’s one of those stages of mourning that I think people don't get until they're in it.”
Grief is a raw emotion that can paralyze a podcast, but Starkie as the interviewer, and Rich as the guest are superb at relating the trauma of grief and its aftermath.
Perhaps my favorite episode was about "Grandma." If you haven't noticed, Baby Boomer grandparents have gone to great lengths to avoid being called Grandpa and Grandma. Today, we have MiMi, Nona, PopPop, and Geepa, and even G-Ma. There are endless permutations floating around.
In this episode, award-winning author and media personality Kathy Buckworth shares her mission to change the narrative about grandparenting. Her goal is to break the stereotypical view of the older generation as past it, doddering or old-fashioned. Today’s grandparents are healthy, active and living life to the fullest.
Buckworth has expertise in this area, since she hosts the “Go to Grandma” show on Zoomer Radio, and she syncs well with Starkie and the listeners due to her media experience.
Tumblr media
There is a balance and sense of distance that provides clarity to these stories of women over 50. Whatever a person's gender or gender identification, our life stories are only in the first few chapters in our 20s and early 30s.
What Starkie has done is offer her audience that sense of perspective and retrospective. Her subjects include a woman who was once a welfare mom and is now a successful author. Or a former police officer who experienced the horror of sexual assault twice in her life and started an advocacy organization called Silent No Longer Tennessee to help and support others.
For many of these women on the podcast, life is just getting better. What we learn from Starkie is that these women have the grit, intelligence, and perseverance to construct a life in which they are set the rules, determine their path, and give back to the world.
Check out 50 Women Over 50 podcast.
"And made me glad that I'm a huge believer in lifelong learning." "He said this: 'A good keynote speaker tells the same story many, many different times a year, often for several years running.'" "As a result, this signature story is often worth millions and millions of dollars." BuzzFeed India Launches New Original Podcast, Misunderstood The Assignment
Hollywood is still accepted as the movie capital around the world. Do you know there is a country that actually makes more movies than Hollywood? It's India and its "Bollywood" film industry.  But India isn't just known for movie-making. It is becoming a hub for making podcasts and listening to them. Consider this.  India’s podcast industry has amassed millions of new listeners over the past 12 months, with 81 percent of them having heard their first podcasts during the period, according to a recent survey by IVM Podcasts. Even during the pandemic lockdown, podcast consumption didn’t dip; if anything, it grew. The overdose of screen time meant podcasts were a good way to break away yet stay entertained or informed. So it's not a surprise that BuzzFeed India has launched a new original podcast called Misunderstood The Assignment, exploring the ups and downs of life as a twenty-something in India. The podcast is hosted by Shreya Shetty and features a mix of BuzzFeed
detailed inventory of the books i got at the friends of the library book sale last friday:
fuzz, by mary roach (2021). it’s mary roach again. 5 years separate this book from her last one (grunt, 2016), the longest she’s ever taken between books since she started putting em out. this one is about wild animals and their relationship with humans (the subtitle is “when nature breaks the law” but it’s much broader than that)
the norton anthology of short fiction, r v cassill, ed. (1st edition, 1978). a fat book- 1400+ dense pages on wispy bible paper. embarrassingly dated in some ways: extremely americentric (and secondarily eurocentric): yukio mishima is the sole author to represent the whole of asia (no lu xun? no tagore?), borges represents all of south america (no garcia marquez?). africa is represented solely by doris lessing, who was hardly representative, and spent most of her life in the uk anyway (where’s achebe?). treats genre fiction in an embarrassing, tokenist way: one holmes story for all of detective fiction, one poe story on the weird/horror front; a story apiece from clarke, bradbury, le guin, and vonnegut for science fiction- and some of them are odd choices too- le guin is represented by the frankly underwhelming “the new atlantis” rather than eg omelas or winter’s king, probably because the new atlantis is less overtly speculative, and the fantastical elements can be read as being allegorical. (later editions are somewhat better, i guess- in particular they’ve swapped in more works by women and black authors- but are still pretty americentric, and still embarrassingly out of touch with genre fiction. they did at least swap in omelas for the new atlantis eventually)
don quixote, by miguel de cervantes (1605, 1615), translated and abridged by walter starkie (1954). starkie did a translation of the whole thing in 1964, but this will do for now.
the house of the seven gables, by nathaniel hawthorne (1851). a very beat-up wal-mart-branded mmp
the turn of the screw and other stories, by henry james (1966). a creaky old mmp with the turn of the screw, the pupil, the tree of knowledge, and the figure in the carpet. has a little biographical sketch, brief notes on the stories, and a critical bibliography, because this was a classier time
spoon river anthology, by edgar lee masters (2nd ed, 1916). i actually already have a copy of spoon river- but it’s a reproduction of the first edition, from 1915. the second edition of 1916 added 35 poems- which i now have (the epilogue is embarrassing).
four signet classic editions of sinclar lewis’s novels: main street (1920), babbitt (1922), arrowsmith (1925), and elmer gantry (1927). the same guy likely owned all these originally (two of them have address stickers in them), and he must’ve gotten them around the same time, though they have design variations indicating they’re from differing print runs. they’re in decent condition. unfortunately, said guy apparently did not have dodsworth (1929), which signet did have out at the time. but this is not surprising, as dodsworth has always sort of been the runt of lewis’s five “major” novels, and by far the least popular, barring the film adaptation. signet actually no longer has dodsworth in print in any form, though they have the four others, and it can’t happen here (1935), in current editions of varying niceness
one hundred years of solitude, by gabriel garcia marquez (1967). of course i got it
and quiet flows the don, by mikhail sholokhov (1928-1940). another important work of world literature
Starfire name
Tumblr media
But in their essence they can also be a bit fickle and unpredictable, with the result that others do not always know where they stand. Being very personable and charming helps them pull their fellow men quickly under their spell. They usually love the spiritual and sensual pleasures of life. This means many people who are sixes tend to be very creative and might be related to creating music, visual arts or poetry. The name number six usually tends put a couple of presents on the way of it's owner. Destiny number 6 stands for perfection and that is also what they strive for. After a relatively short time the desire to continue the search for love and experience on the road to perfection overcomes them again. Eventually, Nightwing and Starfire resumed their romantic relationship, despite Nightwing’s misgivings about Starfire’s married status.
