Request: no - for @raincoffeeandfandoms ‘s Secret Santa Event
Pairing: Tommy Shelby x reader
Summary: (Y/N) still gets her wish of having a white Christmas, even if it came down to the last possible minute.
Warnings: mentions of alcohol, smoking
Word Count: 3021
A/N: figured it would only be fitting to ring in December with a little Christmas story. I wrote this for the secret Santa event, where my receiver’s wishlist was Tommy Shelby and fluff. I hope that I got it down. Also I hope it’s ok that I’m 21 words over 3000…I tried my darnedest to cut it down haha. I pulled inspiration from the song White Christmas for this. Enjoy! :)
Let me know if you’d like to be tagged in future stories similar to this one!

"Busy, Tommy?" (Y/N) asked as she peeked her head into her husband's office.
"I am," Tommy answered him, just briefly looking up from the paperwork he was busy filling out to acknowledge her presence.
(Y/N) entered the room then, walking over to where his desk was situated. She looked at the papers strewn across the desk before she continued to the large window. She pulled the curtains back and peeked out, looking at the bleak scene with a frown on her face. Christmas was fastly approaching and snow had yet to fall. The thought of not having a white Christmas made her sigh in sadness.
"Something wrong, love?" Tommy picked up on her sigh.
"No," she answered him initially before looking away from the window. When she did, she found that Tommy had spun his chair around and was now looking at her with his signature raised eyebrow expression. It immediately told her that she wasn't going to be getting off of the hook that easily. "I'm just sad that there's no snow on the ground yet," she told him, exhaling another sigh after she was finished speaking.
Tommy frowned at her statement. He knew how much she loved seeing snow - granted that she only liked it up until December 25th, and knew that its absence was really dampening her mood. The fact that Christmas was now two days away was not helping her case. He slowly stood from his chair and made his way over to her, placing his hands on her hips as he swayed her in time with him slightly.
"What're you doing, Tommy?" she questioned him, her hands falling onto his shoulders as she moved with him.
"You'll get your white Christmas, love," he told her, matching his eyes with hers as he spoke.
"You don't know if that'll come true," she pointed out, a pout on her lips, "and we usually have snow by now...I think it'll be different this year," she added, the words paining her to say.
"Never say never," he said to her, pressing a kiss to her forehead before he ran his hands up and down her sides.
"I won't get my hopes up," she still kept her somber tone.
"Do you have any plans?" he asked her then, trying to change the subject so that she wouldn't be dwelling on it any longer.
"I was going to start wrapping the kids' presents," she answered, looking up at him again, "I suppose that you'd have no interest in helping," she added, a smile tugging the corners of her lips upwards.
Tommy was unable to stop his smile as he let out a soft chuckle, "I think I'll pass," he agreed with her statement, his words making her laugh.
(Y/N) smiled at him as she reached up and buttoned one of the top buttons that he'd left open. Tommy chuckled at her actions before he pressed his fingers into her waist. "I'll let you get back to work," she told him then.
"Ok," Tommy agreed, leaning in and kissing her before he dropped his hands and took a step back, "have fun," he added, sending her a wink.
"Oh I will," (Y/N) grinned before she made her way back to the door of his office. Tommy watched her as she exited the room before he got back to what he was doing.
——
"Mum! Dad! Wake up! It's Christmas!" the sound of excited footsteps followed by children's screams made (Y/N)'s eyes flutter open two days later.
She wasn't able to do much before she felt the distinctive thud of three, little bodies jumping onto her and Tommy's bed. Instead of feigning sleep, she scooted up in bed and rubbed her eyes, a smile on her face as she was met with the view of her grinning kids.
"It's Christmas, mum!" her oldest, Jackson, said as he clambered over to where she was sitting. He fell into her arms the second he made it to her side. He’d always been a mumma's boy.
"And Santa's came!" Eleanor, the middle child, added her wide, toothless smile on display.
"Oh yeah?" (Y/N) asked the children with excitement in her voice, although she knew full well that there were presents under the tree.
"Yes! There's so many presents!" Robert, the youngest, said, nodding frantically as he added his bit of information.
"Well we'll go down the second your father wakes up," (Y/N) told them, a grin on her face as she looked over at Tommy, who was still peacefully sleeping on his stomach with his arms stretched above his head. He wouldn't be asleep for much longer, she thought to herself.
"Dad!" the children exclaimed in unison as they rushed to his side of the bed, confirming what she knew would happen. Tommy groaned at the feeling of their bodies falling on top of him, and he lifted his head to see what was happening, his one eye barely open. (Y/N) couldn't help but laugh at his wild bedhead.
"What's happening here?" he questioned, grogginess in his voice. For once he was actually sleeping when he was met with this wonderful wake-up call.
"It's Christmas, dad! You need to get up!" Eleanor exclaimed, sitting right in the middle of her father's back.
"I'd love to do that, sweetheart, but I can't with someone sitting on my back," he told her, twisting his neck as much as possible so that he could catch a glimpse of his giggling daughter.
"Get off of his back, Ellie! We need to open the presents!" Robert exclaimed, grabbing hold of her arm.
"Don't be rough with her," (Y/N) told her son. Although he was the youngest, he was definitely able to hold his own in a fight. And he needed to with having two older siblings who liked to rough house as much as they did.
Eleanor listened to both her father and brother and got off of her dad’s back, allowing him to turn in the bed so that he could sit like (Y/N) was. "Can we go for presents now?" she asked with a dramatic expression on her face.
"I suppose so," Tommy nodded, a sleepy smile on his face as the kids rushed to get off of the bed and run out of the room.
"Happy Christmas, Tommy," (Y/N) said in a soft voice once they were alone again.
"Happy Christmas, love," Tommy responded, his smile still present as they looked at each other. (Y/N) couldn't stop herself from leaning over and pressing a kiss to his lips. "We should probably get down there before they rip everything apart," he said once they pulled away.
"Probably," (Y/N) agreed with him, laughing slightly at the thought as they pulled away entirely. They both got out of bed then and put on some house clothes so that they'd look presentable enough to go downstairs. (Y/N) looked out the window as she was in the process of tying the knot on her robe. "No snow yet," she said with a sigh, a frown forming on her face.
"It's still early," Tommy reminded her, still keeping a positive outlook on the situation. (Y/N) only smiled over at him, although it wavered the second the corners of her mouth tugged upwards. "Come on," he said then, nodding his head to the door. She listened and followed him, the both of them making their way downstairs so that they could be with their excited children.
A few hours later, Tommy and (Y/N) were relaxing together on one of the couches in the front room while they watched their children play with the toys they'd unwrapped earlier. Robert was busy with his horses and wooden barn that he'd been asking for for at least the entire month of December, and Eleanor had somehow managed to talk Jackson into letting her use one of his new cars to drive around her doll. Jackson, the ever-patient big brother, was being a good sport and acting like he was one of the doll's chauffeurs. Christmas music was playing softly in the background. Everything was perfect...well actually not everything. There was still no snow outside. (Y/N) tried not to let it dampen her spirits.
She had her head rested on Tommy's shoulder until he started to move. "Where're you going?" she asked him, sitting up straight so that she could let him stand anyway.
"I want to get changed. Arthur mentioned something about him and Linda coming over...can't let me brother see me in these house clothes," he answered her, motioning to the outfit he had on.
"I'm sure he's seen you in worse, Tommy," she told him, not quite buying the story he was trying to sell her.
Tommy huffed, not necessarily liking that she was questioning his intentions. "I'll get dressed and come right back down," he promised her, his eyebrows raised to show that he was being serious.
"Right back down," she emphasized his final three words.
"Yes," he doubled down on his statement. He waited intently then for (Y/N) to sign off on the deal, looking at her expectantly. He didn't take his first step away from the couch until she nodded, and when she did, he said nothing more before leaving the room.
(Y/N) watched him leave the room before looking back at her children with a slight sigh. She had an inkling that he wouldn't be holding up his promise to her. She'd see in a few minutes.
"Thomas Shelby, I thought you gave me your word that you'd be right back down after you finished getting dressed," (Y/N) announced herself as she walked into his office with her hands on her hips.
"I did get dressed," he answered her, motioning to the white shirt and dark waistcoat that he was now wearing.
"And you said you'd be right back down," she pointed out the part of his earlier statement that he'd failed to hold up, "it's been forty bloody minutes, Tommy."
"I figured I'd come and check on some stuff while I was able to," he saw no use in keeping his intentions a secret, bringing the cigarette he'd been smoking up to his lips to take a drag then.
"You're meant to be with your family."
"Alright, I'm finished," he conceded to her, snuffing out the cigarette in the ashtray before he stood from the chair behind his desk.
"Good," (Y/N) smiled triumphantly as she moved over to where she was standing.
Tommy saw her glance over his shoulder and watched her expression change, knowing just what she was thinking before she even had to say it. "It's still early," he repeated what he said to her earlier, commenting on the absence of snow that was making her upset.
"I'm holding out hope," she stated, smiling at him as she wrapped her arms around his waist in a hug.
"Good," Tommy hummed, returning the hug as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
"Leave the gun locked away. It's a holiday," she told him as she pulled away from his embrace, taking it out of its holster and holding it out in front of him.
"I'll be right down," he said as he took the weapon from her and moved to lock it in his desk.
"Right down?" she tried again, emphasizing his final words like she had last time.
"Yes," he repeated the same response he'd given earlier.
"I'll wait here so I know it's true," she told him, popping her one hip out as she rested her hand on it. Tommy only chuckled as he shut the desk drawer and moved to her side. She then led him out of the room, stopping when they crossed the threshold to stand in the hallway.
“What?” Tommy questioned, confused as to why they didn’t continue walking.
“Lock the office,” she told him, her hand falling to her hip again. She most certainly meant business at this moment, Tommy noticed that right away. So with a sigh he conceded and pulled the small key ring out of his pocket so that he could go about locking the door. “The keys, please,” she then held her hand out expectantly once he was finished. “Thank you,” she smiled at him after he handed them over, “let’s go spend time with family,” she then said, taking his hand to lead him to the stairs.
After a day full of playing and a rather eventful dinner, at which Arthur, Linda, and their son Billy joined - (Y/N) and Linda found it rather comical watching Tommy and Arthur stick around and wrangle the children instead of sneaking away to discuss business, the kids were washed up for the night and tucked into their beds.
How late it was didn’t surprise (Y/N). She always let the kids stay up past their bedtimes on this special holiday and enjoyed watching their exuberance. But by the end of the day, she was more than ready to curl up on the couch with the new book that Tommy had gotten her.
She peeked up from her book in time to see Tommy enter the front room. He moved over and checked the fire before he dropped the needle on the record player so that soft Christmas music would fill the room again, creating a warming atmosphere. He then grabbed a glass and the bottle of whiskey that was sitting on the mantle, going about pouring himself some. He turned with it in his hand and glanced at (Y/N) before he made his way over to where she was sitting.
(Y/N) smiled up at him as he stopped in front of the couch, and she scooted herself down slightly so that he’d be able to fit in next to her. “What’re you reading?” he asked her as he got comfortable on the couch. She rested her back against his chest and he moved his arm to drape it over the top of the couch so that she’d have more room.
“The book you gave me,” she answered him, flipping it to the front cover so that she could show him.
“Enjoying it?” he questioned, sipping on his drink.
“Yes,” she smiled at him before tucking herself under his arm so that she could be comfortable again. She read a few lines before deciding that she’d rather make conversation with her husband. “Did you enjoy today?” she asked him, dropping the book to her lap before she turned slightly to look at him.
“I did,” he nodded, a smile tugging at his lips, “you?” he then flipped the question onto her.
“I did,” she repeated his answer, smiling as well, although it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “The only thing that was missing was some snow,” she added, unable to stop the frown from forming on her face.
“I don’t think that it’s missing anymore,” he commented, nodding his head towards the window on the opposite side of the room.
“What?” (Y/N) questioned him, her brows furrowing in confusion.
“Have a look,” he told her, nodding again. This time (Y/N) turned to look out the window. She was instantly able to see snowflakes falling down underneath the bright moonlight.
“It’s snowing?” she gasped with wide eyes as she stood from the couch, “what time is it, Tommy? Surely it’s tomorrow already,” she turned and asked him, knowing how late it already was when she put the kids down.
“It’s eleven, love,” he answered her as he put his watch back into its pocket, “you got your Christmas wish,” he grinned as he also stood from the couch.
“I can’t believe it’s snowing!” she exclaimed as she rushed to the archway that led into the home’s foyer. She ran to the door without hesitation, pulling it open and gasping again at the wintery scene that was presented to her. “It’s so beautiful, Tommy!” she called to her husband, knowing that he was a few steps behind her.
She then rushed outside and extended her arms to either side, spinning in a circle as the snow fell around her. She felt just like a kid again, looking up at the sky as the flakes tickled her face before melting hastily. Tommy followed her outside, standing on the entryway’s steps for a few moments as he watched her soak in the moment. He then moved over to her and draped his overcoat over her shoulders. She’d forgotten one in her rush to be outside, so he grabbed one of his own from the front closet.
“I can’t believe it’s snowing!” she said, sounding just like her children as they opened their presents earlier that morning. Tommy only grinned at her, his heart swelling at how excited she was about this. “Dance with me in the snow, Tommy,” she said then, holding out her hand in his direction.
She didn’t even need to pout because he’d grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to him in an instant. After making sure that the overcoat wouldn’t fall off of her shoulders due to the position change, he slowly started to sway them, his forehead resting against hers. “Happy Christmas, love,” he whispered against her lips before he pressed his to them in a slow kiss.
(Y/N) smiled in the kiss, holding it for a few moments before she pulled away to look at him. She couldn’t help but giggle at the snowflakes that had stuck to his hair and eyelashes. “All of our Christmas’ have still been white,” she pointed out before closing her eyes and reveling in the calmness of the moment.
They continued dancing under the falling snow and the moonlight for some time then, only retreating indoors when their noses started to burn from the coldness surrounding them. After adding more wood to the fire, they both laid together on the couch wrapped under blankets, nodding off to sleep with their hearts full, marking a beautiful end to this year’s Christmas.

You were in the kitchen when you finally heard the noise of the door unlocking. Jaeyun didn’t really tell you about the thing he wanted to say, you just hoped it was nothing serious. While the tea you were making was being filled in the cups. You heard a sigh from the hall, and you could already imagine Jake getting rid of his thick coat and boots. You didn’t even need to see him to know he was feeling sadness and exhaustion.
Now, the cups were in your hands while you walked into the living room and the figure of jake sitting on the couch with his hands covering his face made you walk faster and sit right next to him after putting the warm cups on the coffee table. “What’s going on yun?” You whispered while rubbing your hand through his back. Another sigh left his mouth and he left himself falling against his shoulder. "I just feel so dumb". His voice sounded really worn out, and you just couldn't understand where this feeling was coming from.
"Talk to me please, can I help you?" you told him while trying to get his hands in yours and out of his face. "I'm not going to keep seeing Minjeong" This time jake finally looked at you with sad-looking eyes. “Why is that? I thought you guys were doing great" those words were the only thing you could think off, you were curious to say the least. "I thought so too, but she said she didn't want anything serious at the moment and that we could only keep seeing each other if we were sure there would not be any feelings in the way..." he scoffed "which clearly couldn't happen because I already liked her, and she knew that" he still looked like he had more to say, so you just stayed there in silence "it's just that, if she had told me that since the beginning I don't think I would’ve agreed to see her and I would’ve saved everything that's going on right now".
"And do you regret it?" you said quietly, “I think so? At the start, she told me she was looking for someone to have fun with. I just wish I'd asked her what she meant by that" He said, matching your tone while still holding your hand, silence engulfed both of you while you were thinking of the right thing to say. "Yunie, you can't do that, I know you and I know you liked her and I think part of you always knew what she was looking for. You cannot put all the blame on her because she had told you what she expected by hanging out with you" "I just thought that I could change her mind" he said in a sigh, "and did you?", you asked him in the softest voice you could and felt him shake his head no; the hand that wasn't on his found home in his hair and as you played with it, you said "you must’ve liked her a lot Yun, but you can't always expect people to reciprocate the same feelings as you".
"It's just that look at me ynie! I'm a total catch, don't you think? How could she not want to date me?" he said with a mix of comedy in him to try to bring up his mood, and that made you giggle "some people just don't want to face the commitment of a relationship at this point of their life, and I think you have to remember that for your next relationships" you said as you finally let go of him and gave him a small smile.
"And do you?" he questioned while laying his back on the couch. "I what?" " You know, do you want a serious relationship?”; he asked a lot more. relaxed than a few moments ago. "I haven't really thought about it" (lies) “I think so? It's not like im seeing someone to know if I want a serious thing" you laughed and tried not to make a big deal of it in hopes he didn't see the nervousness you felt with that question.
As if there was a divine call, your phone rang from the kitchen, which made you stand up and look for it. Texts and a call from Heeseung covered your screen, and it made you remember that you had to be out of your place 5 minutes ago to meet with him for your project. It relieved you when you read that he was running late and asked to meet you 30 minutes later, but you were wondering if it was alright to cancel him, you wanted to stay with jake, but this project was important, and heeseung was leaving to his hometown soon, so it would be difficult to reschedule; while you were thinking about it, you heard jake calling out your name and with your phone in your pocket you met him again in the living room.
"How do you want to deal with your feelings, yun? Should we watch a movie and order take out? Or we can make some food and grab some drinks? What's on your mind?" you asked him trying to ignore the sound your phone notifications was making, "what's going on ynie?" he asked as neither of you could ignore the noise any further "sorry, its just that I had to meet a friend for a project and I forgot; but don't worry I can cancel it and spend the day with you" you said finally while picking up your phone to tell heeseung "no, no, don't worry, I can stay here while you go do your project, its important and don't worry I´m not that sad" he told you while standing up to grab your shoulders and push you to your room, "bu-" "no buts' missy, go get ready we can order dinner when you get back" he interrupted you "okay, but I´m calling hoon to see if he can keep you company, okay?" you told him looking for an agreement "I´m not a kid yn" "I know you aren't but I don't want you sad and alone, that's depressing" you finished while both of you giggled a little bit, with that silent acceptance you texted sunghoon and got changed to leave the place; after some minutes you said your goodbyes to jake and left as fast as you could, so you could just finish the damn project and you could go back to spending time with him.

I just thought of something. For your silver and black stories, how did Pilot, Pioneer, and 2903 react when Burlington Northern Santa Fe was created? I mean, their home railroads are now one and the same! (Makes one wonder how preserved trains would feel about their railroads merging out of existence. I imagine 999 has certain feelings about Penn Central and Conrail)
Oh this is a really interesting question!
I think by 1994 all the engines mentioned had come to terms with the fact that rail industry had simply changed so much in the past 60 years that it wasn't worth getting too sentimental over. Since they all were retired by the '70s, I think the more affecting change would have been the CB&Q becoming Burlington Northern.
It's important to note up-top that engines are familiar with change and know well that their entire industry is founded on shifting sand. CB&Q engines and Zephyrs in particular would know this well, and would be more sensitive to the ways in which the Q would adjust their marketing and scheduling strategies based on cost and changing customer expectations. Basically, all engines know going in that things are subject to change, sometimes at a moment's notice, and for the most part they aren't too sentimental about it. It's just the way of things, y'know?
That being said, I do think that the absorption of the Q into Burlington Northern would have been a somewhat sobering moment for Pioneer in particular, which may or may not be surprising depending on how well you know him. It's not like it ruined his day to hear the news or anything, but you have to remember that the Pioneer Zephyr defined the entire look of last third of the CB&Q's lifespan. The Zephyrs got people excited to take the train and set the tone for how every other railway in the country would market their passenger rail service for the next 30-some-odd years. Pioneer wasn't just important to the Q, he was important to the culture. But by the time 1970 rolls around, he's been out of service for a decade, and rail travel looks significantly different to what it once did. Losing the Q to consolidation is a sign of the times and a tacit remark on the then current state of rail travel.
It would have been, at the very least, the end of an era, and that in and of itself deserves a moment of recognition. It's not sad exactly, because change is inevitable, and it's not worrying exactly either, because Pioneer himself was built and born of time of uncertainty - only to eventually become a symbol that the future of travel was brighter than ever! But it is the way of things, and I think it would have at least given Pioneer some pause.
Pilot on the other hand, would have seen this one coming. After all, his retirement marked the end of the Zephyrs outside of the California Zephyr. He would have been familiar with the decline in passenger service quality from the time he was built in 1940 to the day the Zephyr service ended in 1968. Where Pioneer was only watching this change happen gradually from the outside, Pilot would have lived it.
I'm not sure how much loyalty 2903 would have felt to the culture of the AT&SF, given that he was built so late, was part of such a small class, and honestly didn't even work for that long. I do think, like most engines, he would have felt a sense of pride in his heritage and there might have even been some light ribbing in the MSI yard about how at least the Santa Fe was still going strong even as the Q had to forfeit its identity, but I don't know that the creation of BNSF would have inspired anything in him besides some slight annoyance when the teasing was turned back around on him. "Guess you're a Burlington engine now, chief!" Cue eyeroll. 2903 has never really appreciated the Burlington approach.
As for 999, oh boy lol! Don't even get her started. Her feelings on the NYC and Penn could be a whole essay unto themselves. Suffice to say that they are mixed. The best favor NYC ever did her was retire her before they became the Penn so she wouldn't have to share the name of the railway that scrapped nearly every single one of their steam engines.

KATAR!!! Anymore Keegan and Logan HC?😭
Sorry I didn't answer this sooner, Dear. Being motivated to do anything rn is hard for some reason.
To make it easier on myself I'm gonna kinda do the hc's like. Chronologically. You'll see what I mean.
First time they met Keegan actually scared the shit out of Logan. He was too busy looking at Merrick and then Keegan just appeared out of thin air (Walked out of the bushes he was concealed in.) and Logan almost snapped his neck doing a double take. (Keegan continuously teases him about it.)
When they found Ajax under the stadium, Logan felt hella awkward about it because he and Hesh really had no clue what was going on. He did take note of how Keegan handled it though. He and Ajax were obviously very close and he didn't care to try and hide it: He grieved very openly. In a strange way, it was a bit charming? Logan may also be a sucker for sad+strong men. Maybe. (Also when Logan and Hesh started realizing how close the Ghosts were, because Keegan leaned on them and they leaned on him.)
Keegan helped patch Logan up after they lost Santa Monica, seeing as he was stabbed in the chest. This was the moment Logan realized he maybe had a crush, which is a little embarrassing because Keegan had his hands all over his chest and Logan could only try to will away the blush: He failed. Like, you're not supposed to have a lot of ego in the military, so him being half naked wasn't the problem. The problem was that Keegan had his nice warm+strong hands all over Logan's chest, and his mind was so far in the gutter he could only think of said hands being used someplace else, in an arguably better way. (Logan also found that Keegan's "Focused Face" was adorable.) Keegan's inner monologue: "Don't look at his boobs. I mean pecs. Nipples? Don't stare his face is right there, HE'LL SEE. DON'T LOOK... I looked. Fuuuuuck."
During the entirety of the Federation Day mission, Logan felt a little (Very) distracted. They were stealth, so Keegan was being quiet, and his voice was all low and sultry... Logan was honestly lucky that Hesh could cover his ass because 80% of the time he was NOT paying attention. Keegan was confused the entire mission because Logan would just be staring at him. Very hard. He was also distracted 80% of the time, wondering if he was faking himself out or if Logan was really staring at his ass. (He was.) (Shout out to Hesh, for carrying these two doofuses the whole mission. They would be swiss cheese if he weren't there.)
Keegan realized he liked Logan more than he thought he did after their plane got shot down. (Birds of Prey/The Hunted. After they capture+lost Rorke.) Why? Well, all of a sudden, Logan jumped to the top of Keegan's "People to Be Worried About." list. Even over Elias, his captain. (He kinda lost one already so now he's got anxiety.) Logan, meanwhile, was realizing that yeah, he did in fact have a crush on Keegan, because his concern for Hesh and him were equal. Which is not something that happens a lot. (Meanwhile Hesh fighting off a panic attack because his baby brother isn't there to hold his hand. Merrick just :| the whole time.)
The one mission where Logan is less distracted by Keegan and more distracted by something else is Clockwork. He was too busy marveling over the snow. He's a SoCal baby, remember? Keegan found it really cute. And this was the point he came to terms with the fact that he had a big fat crush on one Logan Walker. Really a pain in the ass for him, because he has better things to do than die by Hesh's hand. (He's a touch overprotective.)
Before they go to the Atlas oil rig, Logan finally confesses his feelings for Keegan... to Hesh. He doesn't know how to deal with his crush so he goes running to his big brother for help. Hesh is just *Big Sigh* "There there." vibes. Honestly, he doesn't have a lot of advice because he doesn't date (Too busy looking after Logan.) but he tries because he knows it's important to his brother. Talks with him over his feelings and determines that Logan really does have a crush and not just feelings of admiration he's gotten confused about. (Though he has his fair share of that too.) Tells him to take it slow. Keegan, meanwhile, has gone to Merrick for help. Because oh my god, I have a crush, but it's on LOGAN, whose literal father is my captain. SOS. (Merrick thinks it's hilarious.) They talk and Merrick cautions him to handle it carefully, because there's a lot that can go wrong or be misinterpreted. He also reassures Keegan, telling him if anyone's smart enough to work through the mess that it's him. (Which actually does a lot to still the poor guys nerves.)
During Into The Deep, Logan and Keegan are alone together the whole time. Both are mulling over their feelings but a good majority of their focus is the mission. To say Keegan freaks out when the lighthouse collapses and Logan gets pinned is an understatement. One second, you're being smacked by the hand of god (The lighthouse hit him on the way down.) the next you're looking for your little buddy and find him suffocating to death on the seafloor. Keegan almost had a literal heart attack from pure stress. He himself has almost died several times in his career and he's never had an adrenaline rush quite so strong as the one he had then. Could not resist the urge to check up on Logan after, and bitched about the nurses wondering if they did a good enough job stitching Logan's wrist up. Logan, meanwhile, just feels his crush grow because Keegan just saved his ass and was kind enough to "bother" him after. (Logan very much enjoys the Knight In Shining Armor trope.) Both of them have the idea to confess then, but neither do. Dumbasses.
Keegan fr started re-evaluating his life after they all nearly got crushed by the stacks when running away from the factory bombing. Not because he almost died, he's too used to that, but because Logan almost died. So he was just like "Okay, i gotta tell this man I like him." But not literally, he just thinks "signals" are sufficient. They are not. Logan is still pleased with the attention tho. He also keeps doubting himself everytime he wonders if Keegan likes him lmao.
Oh this is where it all goes to hell. Okay, so like. After Sin City, pretty much everyone is a damn mess. But hey, Logan and Keegan make out, so not terrible? No. They both independently decide the only reason they made out is because they were both really super stressed because there's no way this other motherfucker likes me. (God they're so dumb, lord it's a damn miracle they ever get together.)
Keegan actually loses his fucking mind when he hears Logan went on the train after Rorke. If the fiasco didn't end with Logan abducted and Hesh almost dead then he'd be ripping them both a new one. But Logan did in fact get snatched and Hesh did in fact almost die, so with no where to put his anger/fear he just gets really sad. Aggressively "Adopts" Hesh as his Brother (in law.) because he feels really guilty over not being able to help them, despite his own reasons for not being there. Not much to say for Logan, seeing as he's literally just trying to survive and scared as shit. He cries a lot though. Anytime he looks at the scar on his wrist from Into the Deep he thinks about Keegan tho.
That's all I got lol.

BL Actors Who Just...Cry So Well
Now disclaimer for this: I wouldn't say I cry easily, whether the situation in the show is intense or not doesn't really matter, for me it depends on the actors in the scene, and some are just REALLY good at crying. (Or I guess, really making me believe it.) These are actors that could be filming a scene where their toaster isn't working and I WILL cry if they do, just because the certain nuances they add to a crying scene take me out.
This is totally subjective for me, so if your fave isn't here it's not that they're bad actors by any means, they just didn't pass my personal 'emotional-vibe-check'. Or maybe I haven't seen them in anything before!!
No.1 EARTH Katsamonnat ( Cooheart)
Tumblr media
Earth has cried in every show I've seen him in. Which means I have cried during every show I've seen him in. 11/10 performance every single time. If he has any lines when he's crying, you can tell from his voice that it's genuine. That choked up sound where your throat feels tight and it's kind of hard to get out what you're saying? He's got it down pat. As soon as it starts looking like he's in a situation that could lead to tears, I'm grabbing a tissue because I know I'm about to be a mess too.
No.2 NANON Korapat
Tumblr media
It's the way I suddenly become an empath when this man acts. Like a lot of the people on this list, Nanon acts really well with his eyes. He gets this really sparkly sheen over them in scenes, sometimes even when they're not sad scenes, it's like the lighting is set up specifically to catch on his eyes everytime. Crazy. And let me tell you, as soon as his eyes get glassy mine do too. Then the rest of his face follows suit and it's just downhill from there. 10/10 rec watching episode 5 of bad buddy if you need to make sure your own tear ducts are in working order.
[ The rest follow in no particular order ]
NUNEW Chawarin
Tumblr media
I couldn't believe it when I found out Cutie Pie was his first time acting. How?
I was a wreck at the end of episode two during the car scene. I don't know how the driver managed to circle the block so effortlessly because if that was me overhearing him cry I'd have to pull over. The thing about NuNews acting that gets me when he cries, is similar to Earth. It's all in the voice. This really got me again later when he's on the phone to his mother and he pulls it away to get his bearings before he speaks again, not wanting to sound like he's crying. It's done so well and so believably I want to cut the cameras and make sure he's okay, damn.
PP Krit
Tumblr media
Listen. Is it his acting or is it just the body's natural response when looking at this man?
In all seriousness, anyone who's been watching BL for a while has seen ITSAY. Take a shot every time one of the leads cries. I dare you. In saying that, I think Billkin probably cries more throughout the show, and he's an incredible actor too, but I wasn't using my sweater sleeves to dry my eyes until PP had his moments. There's just something about him,, he looks so small. Like I just want to wrap him in a blanket and set fire to anyone who's hurt him.
I haven't watched I Promised You The Moon yet, because I got spoiled. And I know from those spoilers Oh-Aew probably cries a lot and I'm not physically ready to lose that much moisture from my body, so.
SANTA Pongsapak
Tumblr media
Santa is my most recent addition. Like Nanon he's also really good at acting with his eyes, especially when he's happy or enamoured. When he's filming sad scenes I wouldn't say he's as quick to tears as some actors/characters but you can see it in his whole body how he's holding them back. He also does this thing where he wipes tears away really casually, most times when characters do this it's like a full moisturizing routine with how they do it, or they rub really hard at their eyes, all of which is fine, but for me personally the way Santa does it in a more casual way like he's trying to shake off the feelings is something i personally relate to. I'm really looking forward to more shows from him
Go watch My Only 12% if you haven't, it's amazing
Special Mention: GUN Atthaphan
Obviously Gun is 10/10, he's a special mention because he's ofc an amazing actor and originally I did cry every time he did l,, but Theory Of Love broke me and I'm fine watching him cry now 💗

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about "I Know What You Did Last Xmas" because the holiday episodes were some of my least favorites from the original run. They're not bad; I just didn't care for them and figured this would be Evil Santa Part 3. But nope--this is easily my favorite Futurama Christmas episode.
What first struck me was this episode's cuteness. The whole crew getting their own stockings with tiny stockings for Amy's kids and Nibbler's worms was cute. The Planet Express armor making the building look like a gingerbread house was cute. Fry sitting with Amy's kids and looking at Amy and Kif with teary eyes was adorable, and showing his childlike nature is a good contrast to the "Haha, this guy is so dumb" jokes.
When everyone left for the holidays, I thought "Really? Fry just forgot about Bender?" But then I thought "Well, this is still Futurama, the characters are going to be a little dismissive of each other."
Nope, that wasn't the case. Fry and Leela realized their mistake, and the whole crew came back to Planet Express to surprise Bender and Zoidberg.
The Fox and Comedy Central runs could be cynical and mean-spirited--which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the popularity of wholesome shows, such as Bob's Burgers and Ted Lasso, shows that audiences are tired of "edgy" TV. People want to see characters being nice to each other.
So, the Futurama writers adapted to the times. The series still has dark humor so that it doesn't get cutesy, but the Planet Express crew isn't a group of coworkers as much as it's a found family. Leela helps Amy raise her kids and Fry hangs out with them; Fry, Leela and Bender all live together; the whole crew is sad when they think Nibbler's about to lose his intelligence; even Bender and Zoidberg start liking each other.
One thing I liked about the Comedy Central run was the unusual pairings (Bender and Hermes, Amy and Nibbler), so I enjoyed seeing Bender and Zoidberg getting in trouble together. I never thought about the fact that neither of them has a biological family. That and the fact that they're both "losers" (one a sad loser, the other an angry loser) gave them something to bond over.
Their personalities blend together so well that I'm surprised it took them this long to team up. I loved their crazy schemes to get rid of Evil Santa's body, like trying to flush him down the toilet--yeah, good luck with that one.
I also LOVED the Disenchantment cameo. I don't get all the lukewarm reviews, but that's another story. It's the freshest show I've seen in a while.
Overall, this is one of Futurama's best "feel good" episodes. The characters still argue and tease each other, but the writing hits emotional notes even while Bender and Zoidberg are killing Robot Santa and trying to hide the body. Bender let his guard down around Zoidberg of all people. If he can do that, maybe the rest of the crew can be a little more open and affectionate, too.

2, 5 n 26 (Christmas) about Zeke as s/i :]
Using my Cloud Dad! >:D
2. What have you been up to with [Zeke] lately? Did anything fun happen in the last couple of days?
Well, I have been doing some Christmas ornaments for the upcoming holidays. Zeke was distraught to see that. He said "It has barely been a week since Halloween and you're putting up Christmas decorations now?!"
It was sort of fun to see him dramatically say that he is doomed by Christmas while pretending to be dead on the couch. That was until Rob "accidentally" threw a bucket full of water onto them.
Let's just say that there was more chaos than there needed to be. I had to get Stolas out of the house to not see one of them throwing a mirror at the other for crying out loud!
...
Zeke won the fight though, he wasn't the one who threw the mirror- *clears throat* I didn't say anything, I didn't say anything.
5. Be honest, what was your first impression of [Zeke] when you first met them?
Well, when I first met him, he was being annoyed by a young kid with a squeaky toy. I think Zeke was so annoyed that that was the reason why they threw that toy across the room. But after the kid had left, he seemed sad. Like he was trying to tell someone something, only they didn't know who would get the message.
It did not help whatsoever that the adoption centre lady said that Zeke was a piece of hard work and she would be a bit happier to not have him at the adoption centre. That's when I found out about his age and how his 18th birthday was coming up.
I was horrified to see how a kid that was barely an adult might get kicked out of the adoption centre, and they didn't even get a proper family. The adoption centre or orphanage lady said something about them that really stuck to me. I... don't want to talk about it, it brought back some old memories of mine, and they weren't... exactly good.
Sometimes I wonder... What if I hadn't went to the adoption centre that day?
...
Uh, that sounded way grimmer than I thought it would be- Next question, please!
26. How do you two celebrate [Christmas]?
Oh, Christmas! One of the best holidays for me in my dearest opinion!
Me and Zeke love making gingerbread houses and he seems to be really happy! Sometimes I wonder if in the adoption centre or orphanage he ever had a gingerbread house. He probably never learnt how to make a gingerbread house with the way his first gingerbread house was baked (it was still delicious though), but he must have had a gingerbread house to eat, right? Hopefully...
Zeke and I also prepare some gingerbread cookies that sort of look like us and his cookies look absolutely astounding! We also check up on Rob and Stolas to see if they're not doing anything that isn't okay (Stolas looking for one of the cats on the rooftop, Rob hacking the TV to broadcast a Rickroll at full volume, that sort of matter).
Don't tell the kids this, but I buy the presents and put them underneath the tree with a happy gift card! Rob tried to look for Santa Claus once. We found him in the chimney looking like that Autism creature I see on Tumblr sometimes.
Though, I do feel a bit concerned with the way Zeke eats his gingerbread cookies. He tends to eat one of them their head first. It would be fine if he did the same to all of the cookies and not just a cookie that looks like Rob.
Overall, with the cats being happy and so are the rest of the family, I feel so happy to be with all of them. Christmases are the best time for them. Despite their yellings and occasional arguments, at least they don't go exactly too extreme. When they were living for the first year together, everything was chaotic. It still is but it's more toned and they seem to be understanding their differences, and I'm so happy they're doing that. I am so proud of this family.

The Snowman (1982) Review (Patreon Review for Emma Fici)
Tumblr media
It's one sleep till christmas everybody! And for this Christmas Eve since Emma asked me
youtube
We're talking the 1982 television special, The Snowman. It won a BAFTA and was nominated for an oscar and is based on a book by the same name, tweaked slightly to both fill out 22 minutes. It's a british holiday instiution that's played every year on Channel 4 and is loved dearly.. and I don't think i've ever seen it
Tumblr media
Yeah I have vauge memories of it so I MIGHT have but unlike say Yogi's Christmas Carol it wasn't something Cartoon Network played that often if they did, nor the other various networks I had as a kid, so I went into this pretty much blind, only knowing the ending.
That said.. it's VERY easy to see why this one is a christmas instiution. The Snowman is a simple but enchanting story about a child who goes out, has some fun, builds a snowman and there must have been some magic in that old hat he found because the snowman comes to life that evening. It's basically just 20 mintues of a boy and his new snow pal having adventures: taking a long ride on a motorbike, messing up the kitchen like a yeti, trying on his parents clothes, and then flying off into the distance with dozens of other snowmen to meet santa. You know typical kid stuff.
I don't have a ton of jokes for this one as honestly.. it wasn't one I could really riff on. There was a thing or two I could joke about sure.. but the special is just so dreamlike, so innocent, full of childlike wonder I can't find it in my heart to really make jokes at it's expense. It's 18 minutes of sweet dreams fuel. It feels like a child's dream, just simply getting into normal kid things, meeting santa, flying around… stuff any kid or grown person who used to be one can undrestand. It's more of a feeling than a film. It's simple.. but the simple joy of a boy and his golem he somehow brought to life is infectious.
The art helps: it's drawn like a storybook, likely like THE storybook it's based on, and is simply silent, letting the wondrefully sketchy and beautifully colored in animation do the heavy lifting. The soundtrack also helps, being nice and inviting while ambient and wintery when needed. There is a VERY creepy children's song that plays throughout, but it's one of the few things that really took me out of the film and after a while I just got used to it, as if the kid himself is singing it in his head. IT's just hard not to love the childlike wonder and whimsy of this film. Truly fun stuff. It just feels like a warm memory you had once deep in the back of your mind, a childhood adventure you'll treasure forever.
The only really down part. .is the tragic yet well done ending: the boy wakes up for more adventures.. only to find his friend melted. it's shockingly bleak, with the boy just slumping over, holding the scarf santa gave him last night as his friend lays dead. It's truly sad, a sign of how things just don't last in childhood.. but i'ts good you had them, bittersweet as it is
Finally the film turned out to have two openings: one in the uk with author raymond briggs where he just.. solemly walks in the snow and talks about a snowman and the US one. Now the Briggs intro was fine but since US Specails like this needed sponsors, they needed a bigger name. And that name folks.. was David Fucking Bowie.
youtube
I'm as shocked and delighted as you are. His intro is honestly slightly better as he just has a childrne's show type warmth to him. Granted i'm a huge bowie fan, so i'm biased, but it's also david bowie. He just has a nice gentle delivery. He's also wearing a sweater which just looks.. magic on him. Everything looks magic on him but still. This story is somehow even better if you imagine it's a young david bowie who just.. hung out with a snowman once. Because that honestly sounds like a normal day in his life. Just met a living snowman, went to space, fought the giant monkey man and saved the 9th dimension. Normal david bowie things. He'd go on to make a song for another Raymond Briggs film when the wind blows.. about nuclear war. Maybe i'll look at that osmetime.
So the Snowman is a simple, but heartwarming little special I recommend this christmas season or even just in winter> Christmas dosen't factor into it heavily.. but it just has the magic you expect of the season. It also has David Bowie in some versions so if you can't trust me, trust David Bowie to give you an excellent christmas present and watch the Snowman. It's free on PlutoTV right now if your curious. Thanks for reading and have a happy holiday.

Shit posting again bcoz lmao I am jobless
F!MC gets reincarnated into the Mysme universe
No pairings and shit bcoz this fic idea randomly came in my mind .
Genre : isekai
Beware of typos if any
This is a "what happened to MC before she talked with Unknown in the dating app" with a pinch of isekai
_______
She woke up to another day in this cruel world . "Last night's sleep was extremely nice..." She thinks as her eyes are still tightly closed and her body is tucked under the covers in this hot weather...
"Wait..." She realizes something is wrong as she didn't use blankets until and unless it was REALLY cold . She opens her eyes quickly and takes a look at herself .
"These....THESE AREN'T MY PAJAMAS?!?!" She goes crazy realizing that she isn't wearing what she was wearing last night . She hurriedly gets off the unfamiliar bed and rushes to the nearest mirror whilst bumping in several objects in the unknown room . After somehow managing to find a mirror from somewhere she realizes that ....
"WHAT?!?!" She exclaims in horror as she comes to realize that it isn't her face or hair or body.
"This...this has to be a dream..!" She says as she starts pinching her arm which wasn't her arm technically but yeah
She goes around the unknown house and finds a mirror of body length .
"Holy shit...." She observes her pink hair and lilac coloured eyes in shock .
Her body colour doesn't seems to be that much different but still a minor difference could be seen .
"What the fuck..." that's all she could think after she realizes that she is indeed not dreaming and that this is reality .
"What happened to my life..my body and my..PHONE!" She realized that her very dearest, loveliest phone wasn't in her hands . Running towards the bedroom in realization she found it lying on the bed .
She picked it up and checked the time :
10:17
Wednesday xx/X/20XX
She got really confused trying to remember whether it was Friday or Tuesday the day before or not .
To her surprise a giant blue box illuminating cyan coloured light appeared above her and she ran towards the door of the bedroom as... you know gravity exists.
"Haha ... fear not young lady! " a voice came out of the box
"H-HOW CAN U TELL ME NOT TO FEAR WHEN A FLOATING BOX APPEARS SUDDENLY ABOVE MY FUCKING HEAD?!" She managed to say it out loud somehow .
"Ho ho ho! " the voice said and stopped for 2 legit seconds
"Sorry I am not Santa I know BUT I can gift you unlimited money to survive in this world until and unless the plot begins and you go with the flow." The voice said calmly .
"I- I don't even know what to say to that ... anyways who are you?" She asked in confusion .
"Uhmmm let's say that I am a person who helps people cross universes ! " the voice replied
" Wait why didn't I get informed about this?" She asked again
"Well...you see...the last person who was in your uhhh current position was extremely sad and wanted a new life so BOOM a gave her one "
"WHY did u give her MINE though?"
"Young lady it is what it is now buckle up and don't worry about that game of yours you were playing ... uh what was it called again ..? "
"Mystic messenger?"
"Ah yes that one "
Before she could ask anything else the voice disappeared along with the box
"What the-" She was alone once again . No one around her . No mystic messenger characters, No internet from her universe , NOTHING at all ...
She picked up her phone once again "ah..this shit useless now.."
Right after she received a text from the "voice" (most probably) floating in the air which informed her that her role was that of a student until and unless the plot began .
Sigh
This was the same repetitive thing but oh well-
"Wait ...I forgot to ask them which universe I am a part of..." She sighed once again in disappointed but not surprised
She decides to nap once again and figure shit out soon
But little did she know that her life was about to change in like 5 years
5 years later ~
What kinda character is even this ... she has no friends , no family members people at her school and college act like they don't know her...
She thinks to herself as she goes towards her "home" which was actually a small apartment which she realized after 1 day after getting reincarnated.
That voice hasn't sent messages in a while...has the plot began? ... for how long do I have to be so lonely .. even the pink dye from my hair has faded and my brown hair colour is visible now..
She thinks and sighs as she clutches tightly onto her shopping bag while she walks in the busy streets at night filled with commotion caused by people laughing and talking and sounds of vehicles on the main street.
The smoke coming from a nearby place made her cough .
Oh thank god I still have this with me
She thought as she took out a mask from some time ago which had a sky coloured unicorn with purple eyes and pink hair printed on it .
This reminds me so much of the unicorn from Mystic Messenger...hah ... I wish I could play it like I used to 6-5 years ago..
Crossing the streets filled with vehicles she takes out her phone and a brilliant idea comes to her mind
Dragging her feet in the dark streets with a few vehicles and tall buildings she goes and stands in a corner for a while and puts her idea into execution.
Since this universe doesn't have total copies of apps from my universe BUT it has other alternate apps there sure might be a dating app right? Oh god I am so smart but I hope it doesn't turns out like the time I searched for mystic messenger and other otome games and there were nothing of that sort ...
She thinks in half excitement and half disappointment . Heck...she has been in this world for so long that she can't remember most of the stuffs in Mystic Messenger
Downloading a dating app she thinks that it's time to say bye bye to her lonely life in this universe .
Ah let's just walk towards the apartment while finding someone to talk to even though I don't want to really return there...
She again started walking towards her "home" .
She smiled in excitement when she finally found a person to talk to but... the chat seemed a bit weird to her
Ughh things in this universe are so weird .. i am still not used to it after so many years...
Little did she know that it was a hacker in the chatroom (who was also behind her) and that she was getting herself into a real game
___________
This took me like 1 hr 23 mins to write lmao . Imma go and sleep now . Enjoy this weirdass creation of mine!
Yes my inspiration was the unicorn mc pfp in mysme

With lemon balm.....I went to a parochial school science wasn't taught in....I've found out later they were just westerners and evangelicals nothing to radically Jewish.....it wasn't safe at the time to refuse brain washing....Indian children murdered of diarrhea......anyway I stared at this fossil in Las Cruces New Mexico every evening ritualistically till the sound bombs lessened in impact......and now I have these succulent leaves for strains and sprains and joint health....they were going to just throw those botanicals away so.....
Gorillas in the mist...was not a sustainable story.....JoJo's library time caused diarrhea others didn't ...they take stuff from them ritualistically
Fruitive.....Eva had to do sex work at Alaska wildland adventures so it's really not comfortable for me to do friendly disruption of affluent outside communities when victims are called protein not genetic objects.....
I don't think they were mexicans at Alaska then....
The conservation corporation was suppose to introduce feeding to avoid hunger in later generations
Homo genetic the family wasn't introduced a little counter culturally......
A. Simone on grief studies in doula Cameroon not related family a lot like the family but with these pleasant alterations to digitize and mitigate
Non biologic and not incest
I asked her why she found her parents divorce upsetting she was like 22 at the time and where I grew up divorced parents were a privilege and it's what's wrong with me ...I didn't have more properties to own and new relations to better digitize my life ....
But Eva like snarled at me if I wouldn't be dutifully a lady in waiting that found her every sad confession ritualistically obeisant.....then her dad showed up only as Santa Claus to take her to spa sexualizing so I guess that's a grief process or trauma
If precious ones I guess it is a really sad life if it isn't really non divorce normal....
Replace parents with married Asian boss that stays together all these years....

I wanted to post my thoughts somewhere but didn't know where. So it sat in my notes app until I remembered I had this account.
When tackling a subject like immortality where do I even begin?
Vampires have existed for as long has humans have been able to spread stories. Every culture has some sort of undead being that needs to feed off a humans life force in some essence to survive. Some cultures it was your soul, sucking bit by bit until there was nothing left. For others it was quite literally a human life, the vampire needing to kill and eat to survive like any other predator, in this sense vampires and zombies are the same. Recently the term, energy vampires has risen to popularity, the phrase is used for people draining to talk to. But most notably and persistently, it's blood.
I have held a fascination with vampires for as long as I can remember.
My mom used to go all out on decorations for Christmas and Halloween. Scared that it'd be afraid of them, she introduced me to the decorations as toys or friends. We had a very short cardboard cut out of Dracula and it became my favorite. I carried it around everywhere, my parents referred to him as my first boyfriend. Now he sits on top of my shelves, he's beat to hell but I love him. My mom showed me a movie made in 1987 called, The Lost Boys. Of course she covered my eyes during that one weird awkward sex scene, and I was too young to understand any of the jokes. Spoiler, but I called the twist that Max was the head vampire even after they lead you to believe otherwise. My mom thought I was so smart. Later in the car I asked my mom if vampires were real. She of course said no, and when that answer disappointed me, she told me some people to pretended to be vampires, sharpening their teeth and drinking animal or each others blood, but they can't live off that alone. I think her information was supposed to disgust me but id be lying if I said I hadn't looked into cosmetic teeth sharpening a few times. When I was 7 I spent the night at a friend's house and we watched this "new" movie called Twilight. Growing up, my mom would rent seasons of True Blood from Blockbuster, I knew it was about vampires but I wasn't allowed to watch that one. At some point I was shown Interview with a Vampire. That movie is what introduced me to Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult, a song I've loved dearly ever since. Despite my fond memories of vampires, werewolves and zombies where my favorites till I got older and into my emo phase. Then, finally, vampires were cool.
I never had a stable friend group as a kid, it changed around every year. My grandpa passed when I was 10, my dad left when I was 11. The only 2 constants I felt like I had were my Mom and our dog Hause. The first 4 months of 2020 took both of them along with the rug under me.
One night when I was sad and on the hunt for nostalgia, I found The Lost Boys. I pirated it to my lap top and watched it for the first time since my mom passed. Its like I could hear her saying prominent lines and fun facts about the actors and the location the movie takes place, Santa Carla. Its a fictional version of Santa Cruz, the board walk and the beaches my parents used to take me too as a baby are all shown in the opening to the movie while a cover of The Door's People are Strange played. Its like I can't watch it without her. And for that its my favorite movie. Watching it as an adult made it loose a bit of child-like wonder, I understand all the jokes now, and I have small crushes on the characters Michael and Star, and my eyes are no longer covered during their awkwardsex scene, though I wish they were. Regardless, my point of view has changed, but still, I remember exactly what it was like in the beginning. Change is sad, but its beautiful.
Since my mom passed I've had a big fear of watching everyone I love die before me. Most people laugh it off but seriously, I don't know if I'd be able to handle losing someone so close again, and since my solution hasn't been to not let anyone get close, its obviously been to die before them. I've attempted suicide over it. So, the idea that someone can be there with you forever. The concept that someone can love you for lifetimes. That consistency, the "always and forever" of it. Its beautiful.
I'm crazy but hypothetically, if I could find a vampire to love me I could get close and never have to even think about taking my own life early just so I'd never have to grieve a day over them. That hypothetical is what keeps me hooked and coming back. Not the sparkles or the teeth. Undying love. Thats the beauty of it.
I do think there's a beauty in death too. The same way there's beauty in birth. We all live, we all die, and when you can't count on the vampires because they don't exist, its the only consistency we really have. Thats all we get. I don't know what happens after death, but I imagine it's peaceful. You just let go of the weight of life and die. No more pain. No more anxiety. No more joy. Just sweet nothing. I hope that when I leave my final breath here I get to join my mom somewhere nice. And maybe everyone else I lose along the way, though I still hope its not many. However, I can't rely on this, there's no certainty in what happens after death, only death.
I'm sure you probably think I'd never even want to think about being a vampire after that. But I would really love that!! It would be so cool to watch humanity grow and learn and progress. Their downfalls and how they rise. I would learn everything I could as a vampire. I would go to college over and over again. Majoring in, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, History, English. I would probably need to get a better understanding on science too eventhough it's always been my least favorite subject. I would learn and learn and learn and never worry about running out of time because I'd have all the time in the world. I think at some point though, I'd cut my time as a vampire short. One day I'd wake up and decide I've learned enough to satisfy me, see enough to fulfill me, and stand in the sun one last time.
I think I'd make a good vampire. I'm already a night owl, I'm typing this up at 12:30 am. I don't mind blood. Its really only the fear of people I love dying that holds me back. I could turn everyone I love in to vampires as well, but not everyone I love would want to be a vampire. I'd never be able to live with myself if I selfishly forced eternity on someone who didn't want it.
I think the choice to become a vampire, has all the same pros and cons as choosing to live life as is. I'm going to watch people I care about die, but I also get to witness humanity change and grow every day. I burn in the sun, and I learn as I go along. Accidents can happen, or I can choose to end life early. If you take out the factor of never growing old, the hard choices are the same.
Then you remember, there is no choice to be a vampire or not. The only choice I get is if I want to keep on living. I do. I do want to keep living because dying of old age is the closest I'll ever get to being able to see eternity. And that sounds sick as fuck.
Ultimately, I have my mom to thank for my love of vampires. She's the one who introduced me to the idea as a small child, and her death drove the final nail into the coffin of my obsession. Yes that pun was intended please laugh. I just kinda wish that I could share my thoughts and excitement about vampires with her. Maybe one day, 80 years from now, I'll decide I've learned enough to satisfy me, see enough to fulfill me, I'll leave my final breath here, let go of the weight of life and die. Hopefully I get to join my mom somewhere nice and tell her all about what it was like to almost live for eternity.

Just saw the take that telling your child that Santa is real is ‘abuse carried out by Christians that traumatises children’. I beg people learn what actual abuse and trauma is, because believing that Santa is real while growing up is very much not it!

"Why don't we do Secret Santa this year?" Joel suggested, sitting down with two bottles of beer in his hands, giving Joonas one of them.
Everyone liked the idea and Niko, Joel, Joonas, Aleksi and Tommi wrote their names on squared paper while you and Olli used plain paper ripped out of your notebook, putting the folded scraps of paper in Niko's hat. The guys drew their names first before passing it on to you and Olli.
They did this on purpose. It was a known fact to anyone who hung out with you that the two of you had a crush on each other, but you were just so damn oblivious that they had a feeling they needed to help make it happen. You were really close and spent a lot of time together, which made it even less comprehensible that neither of you had the slightest idea of the other's feelings.
To be fair, it was kind of cute how you both thought you could hide it from everyone else, but after half a year, it only became frustrating for your friends who kept trying to play matchmaker and you were still clueless.
You unfolded your paper and read Olli's name, briefly glancing at him, who was looking at you after reading the name on his piece of paper as well.
You already knew exactly what you were going to get him.
When it came to music, Olli was very passionate about collecting rarities. Something he had been looking for for a while was a signed vinyl of an album of his favorite band that was extremely hard to find. At every record store he had visited, they only had the regular vinyl - which was a live album that was already rare as it is - but never the signed one.
He was so determined to add it to his record collection that he regularly checked eBay and one day he finally found it there. However, it turned out to be way more expensive than he had thought and he ended up not buying it because he didn't have that much money to spare.
You remembered how sad he had been when he had told you that he finally came across the vinyl, but he couldn't get it, so now you decided to order it for him as a Christmas present. He hadn't mentioned it in a while, but you knew he still wanted it; he just gave up because a cheaper version was nowhere to be found.
Olli remembered every little detail about you, so it was no surprise he didn't have to think too long to come up with the perfect gift. Ages ago while you had been walking around town, you had stopped by a jeweler's window, staring at a silver, dangly necklace with a diamond North Star pendant with a sky blue topaz in the center.
You had talked about this necklace for a couple of days afterwards and although you probably forgot about it for now, he hoped you'd appreciate the gift. It was quite pricey and he wasn't rich either, but that's how much you meant to him. Besides, it would be worth it to see you wearing it because he knew you would look even prettier than usual.
The day before Christmas, you all received the gifts from your Secret Santas. "Oh, so we both got each other," Olli chuckled, handing you the box. "I hope you like it."
You smiled and gave him his present as well. "I'm sure I will. I hope you like yours too."
When it was time to unwrap the gifts, you watched the boys laugh about their funnily stupid presents before you finally untied the blue ribbon that was around the black box. You lifted the lid and you froze as you saw the North Star necklace you had walked past so many times, secretly wishing someone would buy it for you - but you didn't think anyone actually would.
Olli always did unexpected things to make you happy, but they were usually smaller gifts, events and the like. He certainly didn't have money to burn and he didn't buy everyone expensive things. At least not for the ones who weren't really special to him. Hell, you weren't even sure if this price range was normal for gifts for his best friends.
Perhaps he cared about you more than you had previously thought. Was he maybe also in love with you?
Olli smiled as he watched your reaction and you looked at him, whispering, "Thank you so much, Olli."
"You're welcome," he said, visibly relieved that you liked the gift. Then he shyly asked, "Should I help you put it on?"
You nodded and scooted closer to him, taking the necklace out of the box and handing it to him. You turned around for him to put it around your neck and fasten the clasp before you turned to face him again.
"Wow, it looks beautiful on you!"
"Thank you. But now open your gift!" you asked, slowly getting impatient.
He unwrapped his present and as he read the tracklist on the back of the record sleeve, he started, "Oh, thank- wait."
When he turned the record around to see that it was the signed vinyl he had been searching for for so long, he looked up at you with puppy eyes. He wanted to jokingly yell at you if you had even seen the price, but he was speechless at this moment. You really cared about him that much to spend hundreds of euros on a vinyl? "You remembered?"
"Y-yeah? You were so sad when you couldn't buy it," you stammered.
You stared at each other for a minute before he leaned over to place his hand on your cheek and kiss you.
"Fucking finally!" the boys cheered. "We thought it would never happen."
You both gave them confused looks and you tilted your head. "What do you mean?"
Tommi laughed. "You guys have obviously had a crush on each other for a while."
Olli tried to hide his face behind his hand in embarrassment and you just looked down at your feet, chewing on your lip.
"All our matchmaking attempts failed, so we had to come up with something else," Aleksi added.
"Wait, how did you make sure we had to get gifts for each other?" Olli asked, frowning.
"We used squared paper and you two didn't," Niko shrugged. "It was all planned through."
Joel pointed at the two of you with a grin. "Don't tell us it didn't work!"
Olli put an arm around your waist and intertwined his fingers with yours. "Who said it didn't?"

AHHH IM HAPPY YOU ENJOYED IT YOU REALLY DID DESERVE IT
If namjoon cried in front of me you best believe I’m climbing over peoples heads to console that man
And the Aquarium sounds really fun I’m happy you enjoyed Santa Monica but it’s sad you literally just missed on JK 😭
i know another anon said they were jealous of you going to a concert but I don’t want you to be offended by that please! Thanks for your wishes for the rest of army to see them as well
i think it’s better you didn’t focus on taking photos and videos either because then you would have been watching through a screen and not taken everything else in
I was so worried that we weren't going to get the tickets, and then it would have felt like a waste of money for us to go out there, and then I was worried she wouldn't really enjoy the concert, but I think we both really had a good time.
My friend looked at me when Joon started crying because she knew I would be and damn was I. I love that man. He deserves every ounce of love we give him, truly.
The aquarium was so much fun! We both took really cool picks of the jelly fish while we were there and now they're our lock screens lol. Also at some point we found a shop while out that sold plushies and so now we have matching plushies lol. Santa Monica was really nice! It was Friday when we went and the sun was out but it wasn't too hot and it wasn't too cold by the water and we just had a good time at the pier and in the area.
Bestie, the way I hung my head when I saw he was in SM... it was so delusional of me lmao but I hope he enjoyed it as much as I did. The video he got of the sunset is actually phenomenal and I like seeing them do like mundane things you know?? For a long time it felt like BTS couldn't even breathe without people jumping down their throats about it but it seems to have cooled off scrutiny wise. So I hope they really enjoy this break and have a good time, social media updates or not (I'll just have to dream about bumping into JK ;;--;; we were like passing ships in the night... lmao)
Also I don't even remember someone saying they were jealous. If they did I just took it as a joke, you know? But I do hope army's that can afford it can go, they're so much fun. I don't agree with fans like are like "you should only go to one concert" I say if you have the resources and time to devote you should go to as many as you want.
I will say that trying to focus on the stage and focusing on the big screen was rough, I kept bouncing back and forth. I think I eventually settled on the screen for most of the actual performances because it was kind of hard to see them on stage (they really did look like ants...)
Here's like, one good picture I got. They spelled out BTS LA 2021 for a bit. I'm so bummed I didn't get a pic of the lights for Jins birthday.

Thoughts and Reaction to WISHMAKER
Oh I'm so excited about this one! Marinette's little soft looks she gives Adrien in recent episodes before snapping herself out of it is adorable. Not overwhelming, just nice. Poor Adrien doesn't know what he wants to do. But the thing that hurts me most (probably because I was always in the same position he is in, so understand more than hurt from it) is the fact he thinks that with Ladybug adding more people to the team, he won't be needed and thus won't be Chat Noir anymore. OOOF it hurts! Poor Adrien doesn't realize that if Ladybug didn't give these Miraculous out, Shadow Moth would've gotten their Miraculous from them a long time ago. I rewatched all episodes out now in chronological order, and it's so obvious she cares about him and could not be able to do what she does without him. What needs to happen is for her to not only tell him that, but express it somehow for him to believe it.
"Come on, Plagg. It's time to start thinking about our future." OUR future. He's including Plagg in that future. Good! I definitely understand what this episode is trying to get across about jobs and careers, but a majority of people can't and never end up doing a job or career they love and gives meaning. Some struggle just to find something they can do with their circumstances, much less something that'd make them happy. A very good message though to encourage young kids to look into many interests and try to find what you enjoy to life to end up doing that makes an impact on the world to spread the positivity and happiness. Hey hey hey Alec, how dare you go after Andre the Ice Cream Maker?! But good on him for not letting it affect him at all, he's doing what he loves so the criticism doesn't matter. "Pistachio and pecan for the clear-sighted young man!" "Who? What young man?" "Hello Marinette." I love Luka so much and Andrew's voice is so smooth. x3 I've wanted to learn the violin for years, I have one, but have never been able to do much with it. Luka having and playing his violin makes me incredibly happy (and adore him even more). "Whoa. You definitely have a gift for finding the right words at the right time." "Adrien." "Ah, well, most of the time." LOL But this entire scene. Luka saying you haven't told him about your feelings have you, her noticing he's sad, and Luka being like let's go talk to him and help him then! Just. AWWW! Poor Adrien has so much pressure to find something he wants to do or his dad will make him do what he wants instead. That's going to make it even harder for him to find something... I remember a spoiler from a long time ago, of Adrien baking with Marinette. What if he finds he loves it when that happens, and it's what he wants to do? :o Ahahahaha when Luka goes and sits next to Adrien, Adrien looks up at Marinette expectantly to sit down too. Probably thought by him. but she went the safe route and went next to Luka. xD Adrien, thinking he knew what Luka and Marinette want to do. Luka knows what he wants but it isn't what Adrien or the rest of us thought. Marinette thought she knew but now she's not sure at all. So all three are kind of confused and it's complicated. Life's complicated. Have you noticed, this is the most honest Marinette and Adrien have ever been about something so deep and personal to them? And they're able to do it around each other. Because Luka's there. He's like their emotional guide to help bring them closer and I love it. "Nothing, my mind is empty!" "I'm completely lost!" - Marinette and Adrien say together. Dang. When Luka explains Marinette and Adrien's "inner music" that felt like the most deep and personal scene this show has ever had. "You two will eventually find what's already in front of you," he says before he knew. As they look at each other. Oh lovely foreshadowing moment here. "But you can't hear it clearly, just let the melody flow." In other words, let things happen as they should. Don't force anything. If it feels right to do something, do it. If it doesn't, don't. Wow that violin is so beautiful. Adrien and Marinette's reactions in
sync, the surprise at the tune, the contentedness, and wordlessly looking at each other before getting up and sitting closer. Such a beautiful scene, this has me in awe honestly. "I've wasted my life!" oh I'm sure that hit hard with some of us older viewers. :c I have trouble sometimes not thinking this way, but there's always still time to change how things are. I love that everyone's dreams are either sweet and positive or just plain silly. Like CrocoJagged.
Tumblr media
Hey, hi there, son! I absolutely lost it LOL this was brilliant! And the way he runs away on his hind legs it's too much XD "Hey Adrien, go hide behind that tree!" and then he drags Marinette along to hide her. So funny he's the one taking control in this situation. He's really shown his superhero potential in this and Optigami, even when not suited up. oooh Marinette wasn't where he brought her. That was sus. "HEEEELP I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM!" "If we get hit, we'll reveal our secret identities!" "What do you mean, m'lady?" "When I was six I wanted to be the Knitting Fairy, and the Knitting Fairy didn't wear a mask!" The fact she's distracted and Chat Noir had to be paying attention to pull her to safety was such a Ladybug move. What do you mean you're not needed, Chat?! Obviously you are! Also she's giving you information about herself! LISTEN. She never used to and doesn't have to tell you these things, she's choosing to! And she even asked about you and your childhood! "You must have just forgotten!" or didn't have one. I honestly didn't have a dream as a kid, either. I don't know, I never wanted to grow up and be anything in particular that I thought I could do. I didn't have wishes of things I wanted to do for fun much either. I don't know why exactly, but I had a dad that's enough like Gabriel so maybe that's why. (My sister proceeded to tease me about being a sentimonster, since there's that "Adrien's a sentimonster" theory going around). "But Dad, crocodiles know how to swim..." "I didn't when I was a kid!" THIS SCENE XDD I love it! "If Chat Noir and I get hit, you must come back to this exact moment." Yeah it was at that point my suspicions of Luka finding out about them both seemed to be very likely to happen. "Nobody can know about our secret identities." At this point I was going omg omg omg omg the entire time lol The fact that Adrien would decide to have his identity revealed so he could learn more about himself to help him in the future. o.o This poor boy! And here's Luka finding out about Marinette being Ladybug! The dramatic zoom in! Viperion goes "Marinette?!" literally with Chat less than a foot away and he doesn't even budge. He's really that sad he's not even paying attention to what's going on Dx Okay, Ladybug calling on her Lucky Charm just to have the plushie squeak in her hand got me lol "My childhood dream is being what my parents wanted me to be!" Adrien seems happy. And he's himself, it looks like, so I don't know if we just got it cut off short or if he is exactly what his parents wanted him to be, so he's happy knowing that information?
Tumblr media
This back and forth between a serious moment and a hilarious one! Shadow Moth's horrified Adrien's Chat Noir lolol not even the same kind of reaction that was in Chat Blanc when he found out . Okay but back to Luka. I think he was much too far away to hear what Adrien was actually saying, but he can see that it's Adrien standing where Chat Noir was.
Tumblr media
He sees Adrien's where Chat Noir was.
Tumblr media
The realization that Chat Noir is Adrien.
Tumblr media
Understanding exactly what it means for Marinette to be Ladybug and Adrien to be Chat Noir. It's interesting how the people of Paris were able to still have jobs that was as close to their childhood dreams as possible. The man that wanted to be Santa makes toys. Mr. Banana wanted to be a cucumber and while he's not one, he wears a Banana suit every day. Jagged wanted to be a crocodile so the closest he could get was to have one as a pet. Marinette wanted to be the Knitting Fairy and look at all she can knit and sew! Alec: "When I was a kid, I just wanted people to be happy!" so sad that his bullying made him want to make others miserable instead. But it's nice that he wants to start now trying to make others smile and be happy c: "Sorry Alec, but when you're a superhero, even your dreams have to remain a secret." But she told Chat Noir hers. If that's not her going in the direction of outright telling him who she is....! Please let Luka be the one to help Ladybug with Chat Noir and Adrien with Marinette. Please. They need it. They have to have Ladybug realize her feelings for Chat and be willing to tell him everything. And they need Adrien to open his eyes and realize his feelings for Marinette. Once those things happen, they'll be okay. Except Adrien still doesn't know what his dream is because that was taken away by Second Chance. Personally, I think his dream of wanting what his parents wanted him to be, is what he already is. He just doesn't know it. As for his future, that can be up to him to start finding! "Thanks to you, our secret identities were persevered and nobody discovered who Chat Noir and I really are..... uh, not even you, right?" "Not even me. Luckily Wishmaker never hit you or Chat Noir." LIES Funny that he was "Truth" before, but now he's spitting lies. HOWEVER don't worry, I understand very much why he's lying and with the way Marinette is, this would be something she'd worry about and obsess over and Luka doesn't want that for her. He knows he can handle it, and she'll find out about it later when she's meant to. I just think it's ironic and funny lol And ooooof the way Luka's face fell after she left. Poor bb. "It was nothing, Marinette. You know you can always count on me." Luka's going to be Marinette and Adrien's best friend in a way that Nino and Alya just can't be. I can feel it. "We're all okay. Thanks to Ladybug and Chat Noir."
Tumblr media
Oh. Oh you dorks! It's like they somehow know deep down they're Ladybug and Chat Noir with that look at that line. They're looking at each other like they know to some extent... I'm sure nothing happened in an episode we have yet to see but, it feels a bit weird, don't you think? "I may not remember my childhood dreams, but that's okay! It's time to focus on the future and find my inner music, like Luka said!" AWWW good for you my precious sunshine boy! Keep being you. Also Adrien's disturbed look at Plagg killed me again.
Tumblr media
Marinette: "I'll do it all! .... I'll be Luka's best friend and I'll love Adrien!" Yeah see, that's it! You guys are best as best friends, and Luka will one day find someone else and he'll be happy to have you as his best friend when that time comes too. As far as all the other stuff, that sounds very busy and exhausting, but if it makes her happy! "How can you love other people if you don't love yourself?" Oh dang, that's such a good line to have put in this show honestly! Nicely done. So this is definitely one of if not my favorite episode. Chat Blanc's been my favorite but this is at least up there with it! There's so much to take from this episode, and so much that can come from this episode's events that I'm both extremely excited and scared to find out what happens next.

The Mistletoe in the Kitchen
| Modern AU fic, Aether x Venti and Lumine x Childe. ~5,000 words.
| Lumine didn’t think her last minute decision of hanging up mistletoe in the kitchen would end up with her brother kissing a guy Lumine didn’t even know that well, but what else is new?
Tumblr media
"It looks crooked," Tartaglia's relaxed voice chimed, gazing up towards the top of the tree. Indeed, as if the ginger had ever been correct in his life, the star atop the tree was crooked.
Lumine made a soft "tsk" noise, shaking her head gently. Her amber eyes drifted over to stare at her brother, who had his arms crossed in speculation as he gazed up at the star with a contemplative look.
He, too, seemed to take Tartaglia's side, moving closer to the tallest male in the room. "You're right. For once..." he mumbled under his breath, seeming to share the same thoughts as his sister.
Tartaglia pouted at that, shooting Aether a pointed glare. "I came here to help, and yet all you two seem to do is ridicule me."
"Oh, we appreciate you very much. Especially your height, it's very helpful when someone wants their star placed crooked," Aether pipped up, playfully grinning up at him.
"Don't fight this close to Christmas, or I swear I will throw out both of your presents," Aether's sister interrupted, watching as the two gave her matching disbelieved looks.
"You wouldn't!"
"Ah- Lumine, wait!"
"I absolutely would. You two get it together before the others gets here."
Tartaglia and Aether nodded their heads solemnly, focusing their attention back on trying to correct the position of the star.
Lumine ran her hand through her hair with a gentle sigh, looking at her mental checklist.
The trio had baked cookies and cooked a decent meal. Check. They had set up the Christmas tree with only... minor issues involved. Check. She had prepared presents for everyone coming. Check. Now, all she needed was for the rest of the group to arrive.
She made another mental list in her head, a reminder of all to expect to arrive. The first guests to have been invited were Lumine and Aether's next door neighbors, a pair of brothers named Diluc and Kaeya. They barely knew each other, with the twins having just moved in, but Kaeya had welcomed them to their new house with a playful smirk when they first moved in. When Lumine decided to host a Christmas party, Kaeya was one of the first to pop in her head when thinking of who to invite. The blue-haired male had asked if he could bring along his roommate and brother, Diluc, which Lumine had openly agreed to.
The next to be invited was an upperclassman in Lumine's college. Her name was Jean, and she was incredibly popular at the school for her incredible knowledge, insanely good looks, and natural kindness. Men and women alike seemed to fall on their heels for her. For a while, Lumine was included. Despite having moved on from her small crush, Jean was another person Lumine was determined to invite.
Then, of course, was Tartaglia. Aether and Lumine had grown up with him (and his many siblings) so it was only natural that he came too. Tartaglia and Lumine had been close for many years, but it was only a few months ago that Tartaglia had finally got the nerve to ask her out. Despite now being her boyfriend, he could still be, well, quite a bit to handle. Still, he had offered to help with the preparations, so she was more than grateful.
Then, was Venti. Venti was quite the mystery to Lumine, as he was invited through Aether, but what Lumine did know was that Aether got incredibly flustered and fidgety when Venti's name was brought up. Lumine was especially excited to meet him for that reason. What she did know about the male was that he took many of the same classes as Aether, and they were both freshmen. It wasn't uncommon for Lumine to get random texts from Aether, saying he would be home late because he was spending time with Venti.
Amber and Lisa were Lumine's best friends in high school (and still were!) so it was only natural for them to come too. Lisa was a year above the two, but the three had quickly bonded and became lifelong friends. You can imagine how surprised Lumine was to find out that Jean and Lisa were actually dating. Lisa had mentioned her girlfriend many times, but Lumine never would have guess it was the Jean at the same school as her.
Lastly, was Barbara and Klee. Barbara was Jean's little sister and had been invited by Lumine upon Lisa and Jean's request, and tagging along with Barbara was their younger cousin, Klee. Lumine didn't know much about Klee, but she was warned that she could be quite the handful at times. Well, Lumine was certain it was nothing that she couldn't handle.
Lumine let out a small sigh. Kaeya, Diluc, Jean, Venti, Amber, Lisa, Barbara, and Klee would be arriving soon, so Lumine simply hoped they were prepared enough.
As she left Tartaglia and Aether to fix the star, she focused herself on hanging up mistletoe in front of the doorway to the kitchen. If people wanted to kiss under it (with people meaning Lisa and Jean) than they could. Though of course, they didn't have to.
"Lumine! We fixed it!" She heard Aether's voice call, as she made her short way back to the living room to look at the tree.
Indeed, the star was fixed on top of the tree, though Lumine noticed the ruffled appearances of both Aether and Tartaglia. "Good job, boys," she acknowledged, giving them an amused smile.
"It was so hard," Tartaglia wined, falling backwards onto the couch. Lumine rolled her eyes at him, making her way to his side on the couch.
She poked his cheek coyly, peering down at him while trying to hold back her laughter. "Well, I'm afraid your work isn't over yet, dearest. You and Aether still need to get changed before everyone arrives."
Right as she spoke, the sound of the doorbell pierced through the house.
"Speak of the devil..." Lumine said with a frown, quickly pulling Tartaglia up. "Hurry, you two, go get dressed! I'll go greet the guest."
Lumine's boys quickly scurried upstairs to go change into their Christmas outfits while Lumine hurried over to the door. She adjusted her red Santa dress, making sure her hat was placed correctly on her head. With a gentle sigh, she turned the doorknob and opened the door.
Jean, Barbara, and Klee greeted her at the door, Klee practically bouncing in excitement when she saw Lumine. "Merry Christmas!" She cheered energetically.
Jean gave Lumine an apologetic smile, ruffling Klee's head. "Thank you for inviting us all." Barbara shyly nodded her head behind her older sister.
"Thank you all for coming," Lumine said politely, opening the door further to allow the trio in. "Make yourselves at home! There is cookies and food in the kitchen, and some alcohol for the older ones," Lumine said, shooting Jean a knowing look. "There are Christmas movies playing in the living room, and my brother and boyfriend will be downstairs soon if you want to mess with someone."
Jean let out a small laugh at her words as Klee curiously peaked around inside. Still having not said a word, Barbara clung to her sister's arm while watching Klee's actions. "Let me know if my cousin is being a bit... too much for you. Barbara and I can take care of her, right?" She said playfully, glancing down at Barbara and prompting her to speak.
Barbara timidly nodded her head, with a small, "Yeah."
Tartaglia and Aether announced their arrival downstairs by their arguing voices. Lumine held in a laugh as she saw Tartaglia in his elf costume and Aether in his reindeer getup, with colors matching Lumine. "Look at you two! So handsome," Lumine said with a small snort.
"Only for you, babe," Tartaglia said with a grin, grabbing Lumine's hands and pulling her close to his chest. Lumine gave him a skeptical look with a laugh in her voice.
"I really can't take you seriously when you look like a sunburnt elf." Tartaglia gasped in mock offense, pressing his forehead against her red Santa hat.
"I can't believe you don't love me, even as an elf. I thought we were forever, babe," Tartaglia said against her head, feigning sadness in his voice.
"I'm afraid not," she said with a small laugh, pulling away from Tartaglia's gentle hold. "I just keep you around so you can entertain our new friend, Klee." Lumine looked at the small red girl, shooting her a playful wink.
Klee beamed, nodding her head in agreement. "Yeah, what she said!"
Aether, who had been tiredly watching the interaction between his sister and her boyfriend, jumped when the doorbell rang. He shot Barbara and Jean an awkward smile, before pointing towards the door. "I'll- uh- just go get that."
Aether made his way to the door, opening it to the faces of Amber, Lisa, and Venti. Immediately flustered, Aether smiled gently at the group, who were talking energetically among each other. "I didn't know you two knew Venti," he said, with a certain fond softness.
"We just met!" Amber said with an ever happy smile, looking between Lisa and Venti. "We weirdly all arrived at your porch at the same time. Well, Lisa and I came together, Venti just happened to be here too."
"Aether, it's good to see you!" Venti said with a playful smile on her face, resting a hand on his hip. "You have alcohol here?" He teased.
"Of course. Had to make you come somehow. You better be grateful, because it took a whole lot of convincing to get Lumine to allow it."
"Ah, I see. Thank you, my hero," Venti teased, narrowing his eyes at Aether.
Aether smiled, flustered, watching his mint eyes. He momentarily found it a bit unfair that Lumine could be openly affectionate with Tartaglia, but because Aether wasn't confident enough to tell Venti how he felt, he couldn't do anything like that.
Lisa cleared her throat, sharing a look with Amber.
"Well, if you two are done, can we come inside? It's a bit cold out here, and I'm not getting any younger out here, darling."
"Oh! Of course!" Aether replied, embarrassment tainting his cheeks pink. Lisa, Amber, and Venti made their way inside, Lisa practically throwing herself on her girlfriend, Jean, when she saw her.
It didn't take long for everyone to make themselves comfortable in Aether and Lumine's house, Jean and Lisa cuddling up on the couch, Klee, Barbara, and Amber exploring the house together, Lumine and Tartaglia teasingly reenacting cringy scenes from the Christmas movies that were playing, finally leaving Aether to seek out Venti in the kitchen, who was helping himself to glasses of wine.
"You sure you can handle all that?" Aether asked him, leaning against the entryway of the kitchen. Venti glanced over at him with a grin, from where he sat atop the counter with a glass in his hand.
"Oh, I'm sure. I've had way more than this before. Remember the time we went to that bar together and you tried to copy how much I was drinking and passed out on me? Cause I definitely remember that," Venti said with a chuckle of laughter, watching the embarrassment take over Aether's face.
"You're never going to let me live that one down, are you?" Aether asked, crossing his arms over his chest (in maybe a small attempt to seem a bit cooler to the boy before him, but no one had to ever know that except for him).
"Absolutely not. That one is filed under stories to tell at your wedding. Better prepare your future wife," he continued nonchalantly, taking another chug of his glass.
"Actually, uh- Venti," Aether started uncertainly, looking down as he scuffed his foot against the hardwood floor. "Venti, I thought you knew, but I'm uh- I'm gay." His eyes immediately darted up to the boy who had paused in the middle of drinking, his face overtaken with surprise. Aether's head immediately started to panic. "I'm sorry if that makes you uncomfortable or anything! I'm not gonna like- weirdly hit on you or anything, so you don't have to worry about-"
"I'm gay." Venti interrupted, his face still covered in shock. He quickly cleared his throat, setting his drink on to the counter. "I mean, I'm gay too, Aether. You don't have to worry about me judging you or anything."
"You're- what? Really?"
"Yeah," Venti said with a small laugh. "I didn't ever tell you because I thought it would make you comfortable. But jokes on me, I guess."
"So your not, then? Uncomfortable?" Aether asked, noticing that he had been holding in his breath throughout the whole encounter. He felt a certain relief, knowing that his crush wasn’t completely unreachable, after all.
"No, I'm not. Are you?"
"No. I could never be," Aether said, letting out his breath as he took a cautious step closer to Venti.
"Good," Venti responded, sounding a bit more breathless than he had a second before, eyes taking in as Aether stepped closer and closer to him. "Good. Aether, I-"
"AETHER! It's so good to see you!" The two were interrupted by Kaeya's loud voice, as the blue-haired man wrapped his arms around Aether's waist and spun the small blond around.
"Kaeya, would you put him down?" Diluc's monotone voice cut through, watching the interaction with bored eyes. He narrowed his eyes at Venti in recognition. "Oh, you're here."
"Diluc, it's so good to see you!" Venti said cheerfully, showing no trace of the breathlessness that he had only moments before. "I've been wondering when you would come pay me a visit, hehe!"
"You two know each other?" Aether asked, having now been released from Kaeya's arms.
"Yep!" Venti answered, picking up his glass from where he had put it down on the counter. "Diluc and I go way back. I work part time at his bar!"
"More like steal from my bar. You don't think I notice how you're drunk too every time you get off of work?" Diluc said with a huff, crossing his arms.
"Oh, humbug. You could never get rid of me," Venti responded cheekily.
Kaeya threw an arm around his brother's shoulders, shooting everyone in the room a large grin. "Hey, Christmas is no time for arguing, now is it? Let's enjoy the party! Get drunk, shake our asses, as you do."
"Yours and my idea of a party is drastically different," Diluc grumbled, but grumpily accepted his brother's words.
Kaeya blatantly ignored Diluc, pushing off of him. "Well, now that that is settled, Diluc and I were actually sent to come find you two. Lumy and Ginger Head are watching the Grinch, and they want everyone to join."
Aether nodded his head, shooting a glance at Venti. "Uh- yeah, sure, we'll come! Just give us a second, I need to make sure- uh- Venti has enough wine," Aether said, despite Venti's glass being clearly still very full.
Kaeya and Diluc shared a look. "Uh-huh," Kaeya said skeptically, before shrugging his shoulders. "Well, we'll see you there, yeah? It's starting in a few minutes."
Aether let out a long sigh as the two left, the room being left in the silence between him and Venti.
"So why'd you want those two to leave?" Venti asked, peering at the blond boy over the top of his glass. He was still sitting on the counter, Aether only a few steps away from him. The distance could easily be closed, but why would it need to be? And why did Venti want it so bad?
"Well... I figured we should probably talk out a few things, right?" Aether asked, dodging Venti's gaze.
"Like what?"
"You're really not going to make this easy for me, huh?"
"Hehe~!"
"Venti," Aether started, gazing up at him. "Look, Venti, I-" Aether looked for the words to tell him what he thought, or even what he felt, but the words got caught in his throat as he gazed into Venti's piercing gaze. "I-" He thought maybe Venti's eyes saw Aether the same way that Aether saw Venti, but how could he really know? He did he know that Venti wouldn't be disgusted if he told him? "I- I just wanted to get something to drink before we sat down for the movie, that's all." Aether sighed, defeated.
Venti let out a sigh too, disappointedly resting his head in the palm of his hand. "Oh. Well, there's plenty to go around, I guess." He jumped off the edge of the counter, eyes avoiding Aether's. "Well, I'll see you in the living room, yeah?"
"Uh- yeah." Aether responded, flustered by the conversation.
With that, Venti left to the living room, Aether harshly slapping his own head. He was so close to saying it- why did he have to overthink so much? Why couldn't he be more like Lumine? She was so much better with words and feelings, and she didn't have to worry about hiding how she felt towards Tartaglia.
It all just felt so frustrating to Aether, and all he wanted was to be able to tell Venti how he felt about him. With another sigh, he poured himself a glass of wine. He was definitely going to need it, to get through the night. With that, he walked to the living room, where everyone at the party had gathered on the long couch Lumine and Aether owned.
Aether sat down next to Jean and Lisa, who were still cuddling against each other. Barbara sat on the other side of him, Klee sitting in her lap while curiously watching everyone in the room. Kaeya sat on the floor near Aether's feet, talking about something to Amber, who sat beside him. Diluc, Lumine, and Tartgalia sat on the opposite end of the couch, with Venti sitting on the arm of the couch near Diluc. Aether and Lumine’s cat, Paimon, bounded onto the couch, curling up in Aether’s lap as soon as he sat down.
The quit ambiance of the room was startled by Klee, who started talking eagerly. "My friend will be here soon!"
Lumine blinked in confusion, sharing a glance with Jean, who looked equally confused. "What?"
"My friend was lonely and no one wanted him around for Christmas. So I invited him here! Is that okay? Am I in trouble?" Klee pouted, looking over at her older cousin.
"Of course not, he's welcome to come!" Lumine said, trying to pacify the girl. "The more than merrier, right?" She asked, holding in a sigh. Hopefully Klee's friend wouldn't be as... energetic as she was. Not that that was a bad thing, but there was only so much Lumine could handle.
"Okay!" Klee beamed. "He's actually here right now!”
"He's... already here?"
"Yep! I'll go get the door!" Klee bounced off of Barbara’s lap to go answer the door, Lumine following shortly behind her after untangling herself from Tartaglia's arms.
Klee opened the door to a boyish looking male with white hair, who blinked sheepishly up at Lumine when he saw her, simply saying, "Hello, I am Razor."
"Razor!" Klee said excitedly, grabbing his hand and practically dragging him inside the house. "Come on, we're about to watch the Grinch!"
Lumine watched as Klee and Razor hurried inside, letting out an exasperated breath. It wasn't that Razor was unwelcome, but it was simply an unexpected turn in what she had believed to be a calm night.
Lumine made her way back to the living room, taking back her seat next to Tartaglia. Razor laid down on the floor next to Klee, blinking innocent eyes around the room. Tartaglia leaned into Lumine's side.
"You enjoying your night?" He teasingly whispered into her ear. She could feel him smile against her skin as she let out a breathy laugh.
"It's definitely something," she responded in a whisper, turning her head to look at him. They were so close to each other, that she could feel his breath on her skin. It made her feel queasy but so, so alive at the same time. She supposed that was always how he made her feel. "I'm just glad your here."
"I'll always be here for you. And I've kept that promise since we were kids, haven't I?" He chuckled quietly, staring into her amber eyes. For a moment, it felt like it was just her and him in the room. Like everyone else had simply vanished and all she could feel was him right next to her.
"Of course you have." She leaned forward, pressing her lips against his, feeling his warmth become a part of her. She had kissed him many times before, but it always felt so new and surreal with him. Like she could do anything or be anything, as long as he was beside her.
The kiss was short, and they had pulled away from each other after only a few seconds, but it left Lumine feeling breathless and warm all over, like she could float away and never return. With a smile on her face, she snuggled against Tartaglia's chest, feeling his heart beat against her ear. And she simply felt so, so alive.
"If you two are done," Lumine heard Lisa say in a teasing voice, turning her attention to her. Lisa wiggled an eyebrow at the two. "The movie is starting, lovebirds."
Lumine rolled her eyes, but shot Tartaglia a mischievous smile as the two got comfortable against each other.
“I think Lumine and Aether could be the Grinch!” Klee shot up energetically only seconds after the movie started. The room shot her a strange glance, with Aether tilting his head curiously at the girl.
“Uh- why?” Aether asked, curiosity getting the best of him. He gently pet Paimon, who was purring in his lap.
“Well, you both have strange names!”
“Our names aren’t strange,” Aether said with a small pout, watching as Venti let out a breathy chuckle out of the corner of his amber eyes.
“Hm... well, Lumine and Aether aren’t our real names, you know. They’re actually Yíng and Kōng, but we go by Lumine and Aether since it’s generally easier for people to pronounce here. And we think it’s cool,” Lumine explained with a nonchalant shrug, amused by Klee’s words.
“Yíng and Kōng,” Razor repeated to himself, as if uncertain how to speak the names. Lumine noticed that the guy didn’t seem to have the biggest vocabulary either, not that that was a bad thing to Lumine anyways.
Klee seemed flabbergasted at this fact, seeming to have no response for the twins in her shock. With a humored smirk, Lumine turned her attention back to the movie. It was because of this, that Lumine didn’t notice her brother’s continued glances at Venti, and how his agitation grew until he eventually chose to excuse himself from the room.
“I’ll be back,” Aether promised apologetically, noticing how Lumine turned to look over at him when a questioning look when he sat up from his place at the couch.
With that, Aether left the group in the living room, heading upstairs to open the balcony door. He closed it behind him, letting out a long breath as he gripped the railing with his tan hands.
It was so frustrating. Why couldn’t he just tell him? Why did his tongue get caught in his throat when he ever he considered the possibility of telling him? It was so unfair. He watched as Venti’s mint eyes would go from watching the movie to shooting Aether a laughing smirk when a funny scene happened. It was like he was whispering a small secret to him with just his eyes, words meant for just him.
He knew it wasn’t just the wine talking, either. He had been feeling this way for so long, had nights were he woke in surprise, flustered about his dream were Venti’s hands ran up his chest and his lips were pressed against his. He felt so silly, and embarrassed, and shy whenever he thought about those nights, nor could he get rid of those feelings when he was around Venti.
Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t notice the door open as someone came to join him on the balcony.
“Aether?” Lumine asked quietly, softly joining his side against the railings. He could sense his sister’s worry, gratitude and fondness instantly running through his body at the thought of his sister coming to check on him. What did he do to deserve being born with someone as amazing as her?
“Yeah?” He questioned, playing oblivious despite knowing exactly why she had came out to see him. Besides, Lumine always seemed to understand what he was thinking someway or another.
“What’s wrong?” She pressed, turning her gaze to stare up at the darkened sky and stars. Aether thought the world felt still around them, as if seeming to understand Aether’s frustration with himself.
“It’s... nothing, really. Nothing important.” Aether let out a small sigh, setting his elbow on the railing and resting his head in his hand. “Just- have you ever felt like you want one thing but... don’t deserve to get it, no matter how hard you try and how much you long for it?”
Lumine turned her head to look at her brother, her eyes seeming to see through him as he spoke.
“Whenever I try to convince myself to reach for it, it’s like my whole body just stops. I guess it just feels like I’m not good enough or I don’t have what it takes, so my body just... stops while it’s ahead.”
“Kōng,” Lumine started, her amber gaze piercing through him. “Kōng, you are more than enough. Remember when we were eleven and my bike broke, and I was so sad about it? You let me use yours everyday, despite that meaning that you wouldn’t be able to go ride around with your friends anymore after school because you knew I liked riding my bike around the park for hours until it was dark. Remember when we were sixteen and sitting on the couch and I started my period without realizing it? I had gotten blood on the couch and I was so embarrassed, and when mom and dad found out, they were so mad. But you said that you had spilt a drink and took the blame for me, getting grounded for weeks. Remember back when we lived in China, but I wanted to travel around the world so badly? You worked your ass off, helping me save up the money so we could move. You even helped me to convince Tartaglia to come with us. You’ve always been there for me, and you’ve always been so selfless, Kōng. If anyone deserves to be happy or to get what they want in life, it’s you. Don’t say that you aren’t good enough for something, brother, because you deserve so much in this life.”
“Thank you, Yíng. I’m... I’m so grateful to have you. I don’t know what I would do without you.”
“Probably die from your lack of survival skills,” Lumine said playfully, quickly switching back into her teasing mode. She pulled away from Aether, amusement glistening in her eyes as she gazed up at her brother. “Now, get get ‘em, tiger.”
Aether gawked at her, mindless noises slipping through his lips. “I- How did you know?!”
“We aren’t twins for nothing, Aether. He wanted to come up here and see you, actually, but I told him I wanted to talk to you first. So, if you don’t mind. I’ll be sending him up now. Good luck!”
With that, Lumine left the balcony, her gremlin laughter ringing through the still night air. Aether let out a nervous breath, anticipating Venti’s arrival on the balcony.
Just as Lumine promised, Venti came up shortly after, looking at Aether with an indistinguishable look in his eyes. Venti lifted himself up on the railing, kicking his feet over it and sitting on it.
For once in his life, the male seemed to be thinking about what to say to Aether as he watched his legs kick through the chilly night air.
“Look, Aether, I-”
“Venti, I have to tell you something-”
The two started at the same time, before bursting into laughter as they gazed at each other. Aether clutched the railing, a large grin refusing to fade from his face. “You first.”
Venti wrinkled his nose, surprising Aether by gently leaning against him on his side. Venti stared down at the houses around him, Aether noting with affection that Venti’s legs continued to kick through the air.
“Look, Aether. There’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you for a long time, but- Well, at first I thought maybe you felt the same too, but now, I mean I don’t really know- anyways, Aether, my point is, I really like you. A lot. Like more than Diluc’s wine, a lot. And I get it if you don’t feel the same, but I don’t like seeing you all... upset, you know?” Venti said, Aether noticing as his hands fidgeted in his lap.
The words finally sunk in, Aether snapping his head over to stare at Venti. “Wait- you- you like me? Like... like like me?”
Venti blinked at him with a blunt look, with a “Yes, Aether, that’s what I said.” His face relaxed again, looking almost apologetic at him. “You don’t have to like me back or anything, so don’t feel as if I’m trying to pressure you. I just wanted to get it off my chest, I guess.”
“What? No, no, no, Venti, I... I really, really like you. I like like you,” Aether said, seriousness painted on his face as he stared intently at Venti.
The boy on the railing let out a loud laugh in the night, watching Aether’s face with amusement. “That’s one way to say it but good to know.”
He leaned closer against Aether’s side, with the blond noting that he could almost count the specks in Venti’s eyes at this distance.
“Remember the mistletoe in the kitchen? I wasn’t going to say anything, but I really, really wanted to kiss you when I saw you under it earlier,” Venti said softly, letting out a breathy laugh against Aether. “Mind if I make up for that now?”
“I would love you to,” Aether replied, barely getting the words out before Venti was kissing him, his hair reaching up into Aether’s blond hair, skimming through it.
Aether placed one hand against Venti’s face, the other around his side, hands burning to touch him, and hold him.
The angle was messy, the kiss was sloppy, but neither Aether nor Venti could bring themselves the care. Aether only knew the burning desire in his chest- the rest of the world was nonexistent and invisible.
Eventually they had to pull away, gasping for air with delighted smiles on their lips. Aether pressed his head against Venti’s, closing his eyes and basking in his presence. “You know, I was just about to confess to you, but you just had to come and do it first. My sister even hyped me up and everything.”
“What a shame. You know, I’m not stopping you from doing it now.”
“I like you. I like you so much that I don’t even know what to do sometimes. You make me feel like I’m flying in the wind, Venti. Does that make sense?” Aether whispered to him, the cold air encouraging him.
“Yeah. Yeah, it does,” Venti responded, eyes open as he gazed at Aether’s tan face. “I understand perfectly.”
Aether laughed softly, opening his eyes to gaze into Venti’s. “Merry Christmas, Venti.”
Venti smiled, his nose wrinkling with the movement. “Merry Christmas, Aether.”
