Let’s talk about MY DECK!! 

She’s so pretty and I’m in love and I did a deck interview with her a couple days ago and my darlings, I think she loves me back.  I felt super called to her at first because of the gorgeous watercolor artwork of Siolo Thompson and her use of animals.  The farm girl in me knew I had to have her!!!!!

This is the Linestrider deck and as was looking for my first tarot deck, I noted that many people who bought and reviewed it said it was similar to the Rider-Waite deck.  I wasn’t really called to the RW deck because I was looking for something a little more aesthetic and a little more “me.”  I also like that the back of the cards look the same right side up or upside down so that I can use reverse meanings in my readings.

This is the spread I created and used for my deck interview.  I’m not really gonna share what that reading looked like because it felt like a personal conversation between me and my deck.  The left half of the spread is more deck-centric and the right half is more reader-centric.  The ninth card is really the true overlap between deck and reader so I put it smack dab in the middle :)  I was looking at various examples of deck interview spreads to get a sense of the types of questions, but none of them had the flow that I felt like it should have as a conversational kinda reading, so I decided to make my own!!

That sums up my interaction so far with my deck.  Tonight I’m doing a reading for the end of July and then tomorrow I’m doing a reading for the beginning of August.  All of my readings and my card of the day pulls can be found on my instagram at hh.tarot

Ok guys, I’m trying a Pick a Pile Tarot Reading. Today’s question is: What Are Your Spirit Guides Trying to Tell You? There are four pile to choose from. There’s a picture ready for you and then the explanations for each pile are under the cut. 

Pile 1:

Cards: The Emperor (True Black Tarot); Justice and Death (The Linestrider Tarot); The Seneschal, Heaven/Earth, and Union (Dreams of Gaia Tarot); Reclaim, The Outlaw, Versatility, Death, and Transmute (Threads of Fate Oracle)

Interpretation:  You’re firmly established and you’re doing all the “right” things and things are looking good for you, but to truly live your truth something needs to change. Follow your intuition, break rules as you search for your change. Versatility and Justice remind you to look for balance as you search for your truth. Double death reminds stresses the importance that you change and transmute reminds you to transform the negatives you find into positives. Union and Heaven/Earth again stress balance, both with all parts of yourself (synchronicity w/ reclaim) and with yourself and nature. The Seneschal adds a perspective on your purpose in seeking this, remember that you are a servant of the world and not the only person living in it.

Interpretation: The blessings you’ve worked towards have come to fruition. The wheel has turned and things are finally looking up. However there is a distinction between Destiny and Fate. Destiny tells you that your destiny is inevitable and inescapable. Meanwhile Fate reminds you to be conscious of how your actions can shape your destiny. Fate’s reminder ties into the Scribe’s tenet to take note of your life’s journey. This is bolstered by Sacred Sexuality, Speak Truth, and Connect to Heart all reminding you to take stock of your body, mind, and soul. However while you take stock and document your life, heed the warning of the Five of water to not paint yourself as a victim, see your struggles but don’t let them become your narrative. That is the ultimate reminder of integrity that you live your truth flaws and all but you do not fall into a trap of hypocrisy.

Interpretation: You have a relationship that’s fun and the person is really compelling and they make you feel good, but the relationship is also overburdening you. Their energy is powerful, very masculine compelling energy, I’m getting Aries, Leo, maybe even Scorpio vibes. It’s throwing your energy off balance and you need to come back to that so that you can find yourself and your true potential. It feels like you’ve committed a lot of time into this relationship and ending it or changing the dynamic will be a big shift for you. You have to let go of what ever is in this relationship that’s holding you back. It will be scary and different, but so worth it. You’re not alone. Your ancestors, deities, spirit guides, and the like are all with you guiding you. Trust them, but more importantly trust yourself.

Interpretation: There’s an internal conflict between your past self and the future you’ll thrive in. In the past you were stubborn and only saw the world in black and white and that was comfortable for you; mainly because the black and white focused on what benefited you and what didn’t. Now it’s time to shift your perspective and seek out new worldviews and experiences. Get in touch with nature, look inside yourself, figure out how you can use your gifts to benefit not only you but the world around you. Gather up the courage in you to change and create the future that’s destined for you.

The Past

In the past position we have The Lovers. Typically I see people refer to the lovers as a couple or someones significant other. I personally don’t believe that for your reading. To me if feels like a close friend or family member, alive or passed on.

Whoever this person is in your life they’re watching over you, not as a judgmental figure but as a loving protector. Watch for signs of their love and listen to what they mean.

The Present

Here we have reversed Wheel of Fortune. In the reverse position this card seems grim. It’s saying that luck is not on your side. External forces are making life difficult and unfortunate. 

I think the meaning of this is clear considering the current events in the world today. You’re likely stuck inside, possibly out of a job, and probably at least a little worried for family, friends, and yourself. Take this time to really reevaluate how you were living before now. Were you as productive as you could have been? Did you spend enough time with family and friends? Did you create a safety net for yourself? Now isn’t the time to feel guilty, it’s time to work on yourself and plan for your future. 

The Future

Two of Wands is in my opinion one of the better cards to end on especially for the future. This card typically represents the beginning of a new project or when you’re in a position in life where it’s time for people to hear your voice. This card represents having your life in balance. Time management with loved ones, work, personal work, and enjoyment. This doesn’t mean your life is stagnant, you’re progressing but you’re also thriving. 

Once life returns back to whatever type of “normal” we are moving to, you are going to be ready to prosper. This card comes with a warning from me though, this cards meaning won’t come to fruition without the mental and physical work you put in to your life right now. You have to stay firm and confident. You can do this. 

I really enjoyed this reading because to me it leaves a feeling of so much positive possibility for your life. You have so much growing that you’re in the middle of and so much more to go. You’re like a plant settled in the dirt in early spring, it’s difficult now but come summer you’re going to be beautiful. 

Keep working and being the strong badass you are.

August 17th, 2019- Five of Swords reversed with an undercurrent of the Six of Cups: I see this as saying that the collective is leaving a fight or trauma from their childhoods behind. There maybe a little bit of residual feelings of bitterness left, but ultimately, the collective is discarding and shedding all of that! If you look at the Five of Swords, you see someone with a bunch of Swords all around them and they are all by their lonesome, and since the card is reversed, this was an inner struggle of pain, contempt, and isolation. The Six of Cups is a card of nostalgic bliss and since it is upright, I think it's stating that the collective will start to see the world through the eyes of a child again. Also, another example of duality! One is reversed, one is upright; one has a cold, metallic color scheme and the other is colorful; one is human, the other is animals; the animals are acting human and the humans are giving into their primitive, animalistic instincts. We have now reached the culmination of the #Wands for the #2019minorarcana study. Here we have the 5 Kings and 1 Prince. All powerfully arrayed, they all emote creative force. The #RWS, #Llewellyntarot and #Universalgoddesstarot Kings sit comfortably on their thrones holding wands and surrounded by either symbols of or literal fire, the element of the wands. Strong, sure and magnetic.⁣ ⁣ 🔥⁣ ⁣ The #deviantmoontarot King takes the last one step farther by being out among the people. Children, the future, have flocked to him as he lights the way. There's a cyclical pattern of inspiration here.
