Inspired in part by @moash's poll, let's consider people you might ship Jasnah with and what that says about you. It's all very scientific, I assure you. [Previously: Kaladin ships, Navani ships; also Moash ships by @cosmereplay]

Jasnah x Shallan You first developed your crush on Jasnah after seeing her described through Shallan's eyes, and now you feel like, if they could just kiss, well, it would be kinda like you're kissing Jasnah, right?

Jasnah x Wit That preview chapter made you feel a certain kind of way, huh? Either you're in it for the interesting and not-entirely-healthy dynamic, in which case you're pretty pleased, or you sincerely thought they were cute, in which case you're very worried.

Jasnah x Khriss You agree with Sanderson that Jasnah should date an ancient, incredibly knowledgeable, magic-obsessed World Hopper, but you disagree hardcore on the "heteroromantic" thing.

Ok hear me out because, like you, I prefer Aeon to Phantom. I’m vibing with the headcanon that his face is scarred or marked in some way—hence the namesake. But maybe there was a reason he doesn’t tell the other ghouls his name right away? Whether his summoning was particularly violent and he was unable to speak or he’s just a shy, shy boy—the others just start calling him Phantom out of convenience. Care to expand on this? Who do you think would finally coax his real name out of him and how? Why did he wait so long to correct anyone? I feel like this hc helps me cope with seeing ‘phantom ghoul’ all over the place lol. Also—CONGRATS ON 1000 YOU DESERVE 1000000!! You’re an absolute gift to this fandom ♥️♥️♥️

Ahhhh THANK YOU ♥♥♥. I REALLY love this thought, it's great! I like that it's a placeholder, something for them to call him while they wait for him to talk to them--to tell them. The others know it's not his name. But it was the first thing they thought of, and it sticks as a nickname. And he's too shy to correct anyone. Assuming that they're calling him that because they think it's his name. He doesn't know how that kind of stuff works--he's never had a nickname before. I think Aeon is confused. Confused by being topside suddenly. I think his summoning was chaotic, traumatic. He doesn't know where he is or why he's there. And I think, maybe, his time in the pit was a little harrowing. He isn't used to having a pack. Doesn't know if he can really trust them at first. I think the first person he says his real name to is Aurora. They're both new summons. A little nervous, sticking together for the first few weeks trying to figure out how to navigate their new vessels and being on earth. And eventually--after she prods him a little--he tells her. He tells her he's afraid to tell them the truth because they call think his name is Phantom and he doesn't want to upset any of them. So Aurora tells the ghoulettes. And Cirrus has a nice long talk with Aeon where she sets it all straight. And apologizes for assuming that he knew what was going on--for not guiding him as well as they should have. Aeon never has to tell anyone what his name is--it spreads through the pack. He just wakes up one day and no one is calling him Phantom anymore--it's all Aeon. He does warm up to the whole pack eventually. Little by little. Until he grows to love them all, until he realizes he can trust them. That this is what it means to have a family.
