summary: Eddie leans forward a little and squeezes Steve’s shoulder. He whispers, “Or maybe I just want to see you when there is not 20 five-year-olds staring at me.”

From this proximity, Steve can smell his cologne and lingering car oil. He can feel his brain cells dying every second he inhales the intoxicating aroma. Steve breathes shallowly, too aware of the growing blush on his cheeks, and says, “S-sure. I’d like that.”

This idea has been rolling around my head for a while and I don't knownif I'll ever do anything with it. But it's cute and silly, so I figured I'd share anyway.

A modern-day, single dad!AU where Shanks ends up crushing on Buggy, the loser clown he hired for his kid's (Luffy) birthday party. The children are absolute gremlins and make Buggy regret every life choice that led to him being there. But the kids torturing him all just comes off as cute antics to Shanks can't get over how great with kids this guy is. Other potential parental cameos could include:

Corazone: Law didn't even want to come to the party in the first place, but oh well! Is under strict orders to stay away from the cake and its obviously flamable candles. The only adult who might actually try to help Buggy. But it only ends with him getting dragged into the chaos.

Bellemere: Laughing at the chaos and absolutely encourages the betting pool Nami start. It's for who can make Buggy's life the most miserable during the party. The answer is Usopp by the way. Kicks to the shin and being trampled after a bunch of overactive brats try to climb him are bad enough, but a pellet of hot sauce right in the eye is something he never wants to experience again.

Zeff: Made the cake with Sanji's help. Will never admit to it in front of the little eggplant, but he gives his son all the credit whenever he isn't around.

Tom: Gaurdian to both Franky and Robin. Honestly, he's probably just laughing it up with the others and taking bets with Bellemere on if Shanks will actually have a chance at getting a date with how the party is going. Tom's the more optimistic of the two.

Mihawk: The wine mom in the background, watching the chaos unfold as he sips his cares away and loses track of Zoro again🍷

Yasopp: Would have been proud of Usopp’s aim had he not been out getting milk RIP

And then you have the kids who just happen to be at the park and decide to join in on making Buggy's day worse. Kid and Killer are the ones that primarily come to mind for this, but I could see Yamato being in that classification as well if he doesn't already come to the party since Ace is his friend.

I also had some questions if thats okay? What happened to Leo's leg? Did his knee injury gradually get worse and he was like "lol im gonna cut it off" or did he get reinjured in that spot and that was basically the end of the entire leg? Also how old are they in this AU? I know they are supposed to be adults but like in their 20s? I'm just wondering cause their character sheets dont have ages. ALSO LEO BEING THE SHORTEST MADE MY ENTIRE LIFE. (Props to Mikey for finally gaining some height). And I LOVE Donnie's long ass bandana tails, he looks so cool but so dramatic with them its great. AIHDDJHDJD THANK YOU SO MUCH IM HAPPY THAT YOU ENJOY THE FUTURE 12 GREMLINS. as traumatised as they are, they’ve worked through it despite some really rough patches. they definitely still have their bad days and nightmares, but they’ve learned to grow together and help each other through those bad times. they’ve changed and grown in their own way ofc, but they needed to relive the teenage years that they’ve lost, that’s why they’re still somewhat themselves in my au :)

LEO’S LEG

it’s actually a mix of both! leo kept pressuring his knee and over the years it gradually became worse — since he kept pushing his knee beyond it’s limits it keeps getting re-injured. the final straw was him snapping his knee again (completely this time) during a nasty fight and had to chop it off. the phantom pains he gets from his missing limb is… horrible, to say the least.

(BUT THAT FIRST SCENARIO YOU MENTIONED WOULD BE SO FUNNY THOUGH. imagine leo waking up one day and going, “oh wow. this knee injury hurts really bad, maybe i should chop it off. lol im actually gonna do it.” cue him barging into donnies lab like “DONNIE. I DEMAND YOU CUT MY LEG OFF” “WHAT?!” “CUT MY LEG OFF IT HURTS” “OF COURSE IT HURTS WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOU’RE THE ONE WHO KEEPS INSISTING THAT YOU SHOULD ‘TRAIN’ IT.” “yeah but i think my blood circulation isnt working look my leg is pale” “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK LEO” and boom. leg no more.)

AGES

they should be around their late 20s in this au, i hc that for every season of the show they age one year. so at the start they were like 15, and the show had 5 seasons (granted s5 was a bit messy and was full of aus and past flashbacks, but there was that demodragon arc and stuff) so they would be 20 at the end of the show. specifically they’re like 28 :) they are kinda old but hey at least they don’t have to pay taxes in the sewers…

HEIGHT PROBLEMS

oh god, when raph suddenly had a growth spurt it was horrible for leo. he was relentlessly being teased every single day and raph would NOT let off. and then when MIKEY hit being 1cm taller than leo, the teasing fucking doubled and he was downright miserable. they kept growing while leo was barely getting any height. he’s still their sensei though — and he makes them do extra training as punishment for the relentless teasing :) donnie doesn’t join in on the teasing (sometimes he does) but he does snicker when raph and mikey make jokes about leo’s height. it’s funnier for him because he’s been the tallest out of all of them since day one.

MORE ABOUT DONNIE

and yessss i loved designing donnie! since he was tall everything about his design had to compensate for his height so i figured long mask tails and a long lab coat would do the trick. his brothers were concerned over him tripping on his mask tails but he hasn’t, not even ONCE. he is one graceful, careful boy. he braids it or ties it into a bow whenever he does lab work so it doesn’t accidentally slip into one of his chemicals somehow. sometimes he lets mikey do it for him :)

another ask i've been sitting on because it's so good and i have so many possibilities for answering that it was so hard to narrow it down to just five! but let's see what i'm vibing as of right at this moment:

their sleeping arrangement is that jyn is typically the big spoon. not that they don't ever switch it up, but jyn likes to flop on cassian like a jyn-sized weighted blanket, and cassian really likes that, too, because that's how he feels safe. jyn is so very much a protector that she's doing that in her sleep, and the testament to how safe cassian feels in this relationship is that he's accepting that he wants that protection and making himself vulnerable enough to actually do so.

one of their favorite things to do in the evening to unwind is cook together — by which i mean it's cassian actually doing the cooking and jyn "helping" (read: being a menace and swiping little bites of food when she thinks he isn't paying attention and just overall being distracting as hell). it's a testament to how much cassian loves her that he allows this to happen, because no one else would be allowed within ten fucking feet of him while he's trying to focus on cooking.

in every setting, whether it's canonverse or a modern au or whatever else, they always have at least (1) gremlin cat or cat-like creature that is their precious baby they adore and who adores them, but who everyone else is like ???? about because it's feral and hissy and just overall nasty to anyone who isn't the two of them. they are also incredibly defensive over said feral hissy gremlin baby, and believe this cat can do no wrong.

so much silent communication going on between the two of them that by the time they've been together for years, they can carry on entire conversations without speaking a single word. it is both incredible and incredibly baffling for everyone else to witness.

cassian's favorite sexual activity is eating jyn out and consequently that is also her favorite activity lmaoooo

also jyn has at least two orgasms pretty much every time they have sex — unless they're in a rush — because cassian is so very focused on her pleasure very much well over his own that he insists on making her come at least once with his mouth or his fingers before he ever thinks about himself; it's a tendency that jyn certainly isn't complaining about, but also sometimes finds infuriating, because sometimes she just wants to get him off, has he ever thought about that!!

Monster Au? - Part 2

part one II part three I’ll post a snort snippet of Part three when I get ready to post this on ao3, or I might post this as just a tumblr thing. I’m not sure yet, I have kind of an idea of what I want. but also not really. However I also don’t want to conflict with “An Untuned Piano” (which if you haven’t read before you should totally go and do that-) and this was just a little break for my messy brain. TW for Vomit- and a little body horror- (this hardly scrapes the surface of the terrible, terrible ideas I have. My poor little Hurt No Comfort Brain is mean) ---

Steve hated how much he identified with the creature, with Frankenstein’s Monster. It made his skin prickle, that was his threshold for, for relating to a character. A creature whose creator turned on him- a creature that kills every person who had the capability to love him, and then himself.

Even now, tucked against the couch watching his friends pile together, touching in some way. Steve felt sick to his stomach, knotted and messy. He wasn’t sure what to think. His belly ached, and he wasn’t even sure if it was rebelling food he couldn’t process or if he felt like an outsider in his own space.

After everything, after 83’, after the Junkyard, and the Tunnels- the Demo-dogs, after Russians and the mall.

After Vecna.

Of the kids getting attached to Eddie, Eddie who is a vampire- Eddie who only lived because of that fact. Came out of the bats almost completely unscarred, unscratched- with a mouthful of blood, and fear in his eyes.

Steve envied that, the quick healing, the way Eddie bounced back faster than any of them really, right next to Max and her single broken arm. The wolf sleeping in her bones pushing her further than Vecna could even dare to go.

Now they push into Steve’s space, into his house with little care for what Steve thinks. It’s their space, pack space, coven space. And Steve shouldn’t care because he’s human. Not wolf like Robin and Hopper, not Born-Witch like the Byers-Hopper Clan, not Made Witch like the Wheeler Siblings, not Dragon as the Sinclar siblings are, not Gremlin like Dustin or even remotely close to being a Vampire like Eddie- not, not-

Steve was human, and it was just his house, and it shouldn’t matter if they want to stay in it for hours. It shouldn’t matter if Steve said no, if Steve didn’t want them there. It was their space now. He should enjoy having people in his house after being alone for so long- but the way they treat it, as if Steve’s the interloper.

It was driving him nuts.

He couldn’t keep anything down, processed foods he wasn’t supposed to eat filled the tables- foods that Joyce cooked, or Hopper when he made breakfast. It was twisting around in his head, curling his stomach and turning it over.

It was his space, and he couldn’t mark it as his own. No, scratch that it was his father’s space.

Why Hopper had no sway over him, why every forceful remark from Nancy stung. Steve wasn’t a part of whatever kind of pack had collected in his living room. He wasn’t allowed to be, not until he had his Father’s permission, or they recognized him as a part of it.

And they hadn’t.

They probably never would. Not with the way they all seemed to dislike that Steve was even around half the time. But it’s fine, it’s okay. His skin crawls, all the perfect edges, the ones that he shapes, molds, covers up how bad the scars around his neck actually look, about how his stomach isn’t fully healed. His skin is struggling to stitch itself back together with the lack of proper care.

Steve’s missing chunks, muscle, skin, fat- his body moves and changes. There’s limits, and caring for himself as he’s supposed to is hard when he’s supposed to wear human skin. He’s not supposed to wear it for one- he can’t heal like this.

So all imperfections are covered, hidden away. Bites his tongue and hopes he can keep down whatever processed meal he’s eaten. Avoid Eddie’s imploring Vampire snitching gaze every time he tears a stitch.

His stomach knotted painfully another time. And Steve was on his feet, don’t panic, don’t panic, don’t panic- It wasn’t discomfort this time, not with the saliva pooled on his tongue. He stumbled slightly, bile rising in his throat. His head spun as he stood, and his knees threatened to buckle-

Eddie watched with sharp eyes as Steve stood from his place on the couch, part of him wanted to coo, call out the other to join the pile. Curl around him and remind everyone that Steve was Eddie’s.

He worked his jaw as the younger boy shuffled out of the living room and down the hallway to the bathroom. Eddie’s sharper ears heard the sink turn on almost as soon as The door shut, which was unusual. Eddie twitched, disturbing Dustin who was sprawled across him.

Under the sound of water running was the sound of retching. Eddie’s face screwed up in sympathy. Oh damn, how long had Steve sat there feeling bad? How did Eddie not notice? Over everything, all the little things. With the way anxiety made Steve’s pulse beat far to fast-

Eddie tapped Dustin’s side “Up.”

Dustin grumbled, a long drawn out why, as he wiggled around for a moment, but ultimately flopped off Eddie. Right on to Mike who let out a groan at the sudden impact to his ribs. Eddie ruffled his curls, pushing the boy's head around a little bit.

“Going to go check on Harrington.” Interrupting bonding time, the displeasure was loud in the air, but Eddie could hear Steve’s heart kick, thumping anxiously. And he couldn’t just leave it. Not with the way he’d watched the boy slightly stumble before all but bolting for the open bathroom door.

Not with how in tune he had accidentally become of the human. “He’s just in the bathroom-“ Nancy’s voice was rough, half asleep from where she was tucked between Robin and Jonathan. Eddie looked over the gathered group with raised eyebrows. He knows that some of them probably could hear Steve over the water running.

Eddie snorted, a little bit of a bitter sound. “Yeah Puking.” That startled Robin who jerked up right. Her ears weren’t completely useless like this, but there was a small chance that she wasn’t used to recognizing Steve as much anymore. The human had pulled back some from the group, Robin had been almost inconsolable for over two weeks over it.

That she couldn’t recognize his footsteps, or his breathing patterns. That Steve was hardly around outside of work anymore, and it was devastating. They’d been bonded, they were bonded, a pair. Eddie had been sympathetic, but he remembers asking if she’d even talked to Steve about it.

Nancy had been more vocal in her displeasure for Steve’s actions. Eddie wanted to ask them if they knew that Steve smelled like blood, and healing. As if there wasn’t a clotting heavy smell of skin stitching itself back together. Maybe Steve was retreating because he was hurting, and uncomfortable.

That the smell of blood wasn’t going away and it was making Eddie anxious.

“I’ve got him, Buckley. Lay back down.” Eddie moved around the pile of sleepy bodies, eyeing the adults in the kitchen as he passed, and then paused in front of the bathroom door. His feet quiet on the floor.

He tapped softly on the door, knocking his knuckles just slightly against the wood. The Retching hadn’t stopped, if anything the closer Eddie got he could hear just how painful it sounded. The smell of blood was underlying, and it set him on fire. That wasn’t right. It wasn’t. “Harrington? You alright?” The toilet flushed, not quite covering the gag that Steve made. Eddie knocked on the door again, leaning against the door frame.

“‘M fine, Ed’ie,” he didn’t sound fine. Eddie hummed under his breath.

“You don’t sound fine.” There was a pause, the water hadn’t stopped running, and Eddie was starting to get nervous. Steve’s pulse was jackrabbiting hard. “Can I come in?” He pressed his palm against the doorknob, the metal was frigid. Steve was quiet, and then Eddie hears another gag- and then what sounds like dry heaving.

Fuck, okay- that’s, “I’m coming in Harrington.” Eddie pushes open the door, not locked- which is good, he really doesn’t want to break a door. The light isn’t even turned on, and it takes his eyes a minute to understand the difference. He steps fully into the space and shuts the door behind him.

Steve is hunched over the toilet, legs curled uncomfortably. “Go away Munson.” Eddie reaches out to turn the sink off, the handle squeaks. Before sinking down to sit on the small bathroom floor next to the other.

The smell of blood was thicker now that he was sharing the space. Eddie worked his jaw, pricking his lips slightly with his teeth. “Steve.” His voice is hard, and it draws wet hazel eyes to his face, they dart around slightly, before falling back to look at the toilet. “Are you bleeding?” Yes, Eddie knew this, could all but taste it, and it was making his skin crawl because it was wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Steve’s whole form shuttered, curling tighter around the toilet. He retches again, and doesn’t respond. The bathroom didn’t smell like healing, and the blood that comes with it. It smelled like distress, vomit, and blood.

Eddie reached out to touch Steve’s shoulder, his body curled away from the outstretched touch. His creature hissed low in his belly, angry at the rejection, Steve was his. God he hated imprinting on Humans.

But this didn’t feel like flinching away from Eddie because he was well, Eddie. But rather a curl away because he was uncomfortable and touch wouldn’t help. So Eddie pulled back. He could hear Steve’s heart jackrabbit, the anxiety heavy in the air. “What can I do to help?”

“Go away.” Eddie blinked, well fuck you to then. He huffed, standing up, offense now filling his chest.

“You are literally vomiting in your toilet- and you want me to just leave?” Eddie lowered his eyebrows, looking at Steve’s shaking form with something close to a glare. Steve didn’t even bother to look up.

“I didn’t ask for your help, just go back- to, to the living room, and the pile of people who don’t live in my fucking house.” Eddie jolted, echoed into the porcelain and muffled as it was, there was almost a growl to the tone, low and sharp. Maybe Steve was spending too much time around them. Eddie hissed, mind realizing Steve was claiming their space-

He jerked up to stand, “Fine then, suffer by yourself. And it’s your house, but it’s our space.”

Steve’s body was shaking harder as Eddie turned to leave, hands curled around the toilet seat, holding onto it. “Fuck off Munson.”

Eddie slammed the door behind him. Chest heaving, his whole body giving a hard shake, trying to rid himself of the smell of blood. He wandered back into the living room, flopped down in his spot, and curled around Dustin. “Eddie?”

Robin’s voice was hesitant, he lifted his face slightly to look at her, “You okay?” Was Steve okay? She was anxious, that was telling from the way she was clinging to Max who had burrowed into her side.

“Fine.” He bites it out, the word feels too sharp, but he was hot, and angry.

He can hear Steve leaves the bathroom maybe 20 minutes later, and he goes upstairs instead of coming back to the living room. Maybe it’s for the better.

just! finished saiyuki og series!!! discovered the first resurrected edition volume recently and it has been. well. it's been a journey lol

oooooooooh boy there sure was some Anatomy and Proportions happening in the first volume but it was super fun to see the art style progress actually. it encouraged me to notice more complex poses and things in the later volumes, and when there was an occasional repeat panel like Sanzo and Goku's first look it was very cool to see the difference in quality.

i have a coupla favorite panels/spreads and generally tried to pay a little more attention to how things are precisely laid out and it was a fun aspect of reading. i want to do some actual breakdowns now, maybe compare early and later layouts.

also! i discovered and watched zeroin! my first intro to saiyuki was discovering reload blast forever ago. the art style in zeroin and the fact that there's a whole set of characters i'd never heard of before made it feel like an au or semi-canonical anime movie, sorta, but i enjoyed it So much and there are some specific notes on sanzo characterization that i want to dig into

sanzo is my fave and the kami-sama arc was So Very Good in that respect but it also grew my love for gojyo three sizes.

the way that they all react when gojyo leaves cracks me up so much. they're So Offended. something so funny and also so tasty that they will not under any circumstances admit out loud that they care about gojyo and miss him so instead they're like we are going to Hurt Him (because he hurt us) for Disrupting Our Daily Routine (he's a fundamental part of our lives) and FORCING us to turn this car around (he left with the full knowledge and expectation that they would follow through with actually continuing to pursue this Very Important job like they always said they would)

mmmmm gojyo's savior complex mmmm it's good.

got blasted by the idea of gojyo and hakkai starting an orphanage when they're done with the mission. hakkai was a teacher and still models himself as a "childcare professional"/co-parent to goku and gojyo wants to save somebody So Badly. also good luck resocializing goku to not be killing people/fighting for his life every other day for Two Entire Formative Teenage Years, helping kids and not having it backfire spectacularly in his face would be good for him

i just read the fourth volume so that's most of what i've got on my mind, i know i have More thoughts from the other volumes

besides the fact that sanzo's joints are gonna/have gotta be So Fucked Up. he really is a grandpa. poor guy.

feels good to nail some characterization aspects like genjyo "i'm a coldhearted bastard and you'd better stay out of my way" (developed coping mechanisms to deal with the traumatic loss of a parent and people repeatedly Attacking Him at an early age) sanzo, cho "yes i'm the wife/mother, please excuse these skeletons, the cleaver is only for special occasions" hakkai, sha "i'm the only one here who understands how to be a normal person" (he does not but he does have the highest emotional intelligence) gojyo, and son "i'm a teenager" (he's a teenager, also growing up with the aforementioned trio as parental/familial figures and starting to come into his own!!) goku

not a single one of these men has had a normal relationship or even prolonged interaction with a woman

i had no idea there was a whole brainwashing segment with kougaiji?? and i really want to see more of lirin, there are fun parallels there to explore that i really wanna dig into

i had no idea to what level sanzo was a bastard gremlin with a gun who just Happens to also be the highest of high priests before and now that i do it delights me. the very hypocrisy of his acceptance in his position disgusts him because He Is Not Priest Material but also it's what his dad wanted for him so fuck everybody who tries to take that from him. in any other situation he'd be the shady penniless vagabond gun for hire but koumyou happened. and now we all get to enjoy it.

I just came with an idea for a possible Aladarius fic!

What if Alador, instead of enduring Odalia's abuses for years, decided at some point that he had enough and ran away, taking babies Amity, Edric and Emira with him?

What if he had chosen Darius' house as a hiding place, because it was the only place he could think of?

What if Darius, seeing his old childhood friend and ex-boyfriend at his door, clearly desperate, frightened and with three children in his arms, decided to take them all in, putting aside the resentment he has felt for Alador for all these years?

What if, in the time spent living together and raising three children together, the two were able to slowly reconcile and rebuild their old bond?

What if, thanks to this decision, Alador had the chance from the beginning to be a good father for his kids?

What if, thanks to this decision, Amity, Edric and Emira had the chance to grow up without a toxic mother controlling every single aspect of their life, but with a loving and caring biological father who actually had time to spend with them and who would die for them, and a second adoptive father who, despite having his initial reservetions about them, slowly grew to love them as well?

(And obviously with a furry gremlin uncle who likes to joke and play happily with them and to tease their two abomination dads.)

What if, thanks to this decision, Alador, Darius, Eberwolf, Amity, Edric and Emira had the chance to be a happy family together?

But obviously, it would not be all sunshine and rainbows.

In fact, you can rest assured that Odalia and her family would move mountains to find Alador and the children, in order to make Alador pay for "kidnapping" the children and restoring said children in Odalia's gross hands.

Alador would become a wanted man throughout the Boiling Isles.

He, Amity, Edric and Emira would be forced to remain holed up in Darius' house, having zero contacts with the outside world.

But it's okay for them, because they have each other, and plus they know they have Darius and Eberwolf to protect them.

Darius would become determinate to protect at all costs the man and the kids he grew to love with all his heart.

Same goes for Eberwolf.

It surely would not be an easy life for any of them, but they are all willing to fight for each other if necessary.

Now, how all of this will evolve and tie up to the canon series events it's up to you.

I don't think I'll ever write it down because it would take a lot of time, and I'm a lazy person (and also because I'm not that good as a writer).

It's just a fun little idea that came over my mind.

However, if someone wants to write this, go ahead.

(Just remember to credit me. It's all I ask.)

You can even chose a title for this (I was thinking on something like Runaway Blights Au, but I'll let you decide).

I would be super curios to see what could come out from this idea.

So, you who are reading this papyrus, if you're a good writer, if you ship Aladarius, if you want to give Amity, Edric, Emira and Alador more happiness than the series has given them, or, more simply, if you, like me, are just curios to see this idea brought to life, then what are you waiting for?

"I can't believe you've never been here," Will says, mouth half-full of popcorn. He looks a little sheepish, then swallows. "I guess we spend a lot of time at New-Bee's when we hang out with you." You're both standing in the Wheeler's kitchen, arms full of snacks to bring down to your friends for Christmas movie night.

"Eddie said that you guys play DnD here still, right?"

Will nods. "Yeah, our own campaigns. This is where we started playing back when we were really young. We do Hellfire at school, though." He's a good kid, first to volunteer to help you carry everything back down. The only reason Steve isn't up here helping you is because he's the last one to arrive -- his task is getting the tapes from the video store in town.

"Lucas told me that you just finished a really good one, right?" you ask him.

"He won't admit it, but it was the best one yet," Lucas says from the basement door. "You guys were taking a long time. Do you need help?" You're about to brush him off but then the doorbell rings.

"That's probably Steve," you say. "Here, take this down and we'll be right there." Lucas takes the candy you're holding and he and Will head down the stairs.

"Coming!" you holler at the front door. When you pull it open you're greeted with a scowling Steve who brightens at the sight of you.

"Gonna let me in?" he says. "It's cold as shit out here. All my best parts are gonna freeze off."

You beckon him inside and laugh. "Nah, your nose looks fine." His smile turns back to a scowl and you can't help but kiss him. "Hi," you say softly.

"Hi yourself," he says back, kissing you again, this time a little slower. "Everyone else here already?" You nod.

"Just got the snacks together. What tapes did you snag?" He holds out the plastic bag for you to take. He strips off his coat and hat and toes off his boots as you look through it.

"A Christmas Story, White Christmas, The Snowman...Gremlins? Steve, really?"

"Just watch, honey, they're gonna vote for that one. Trust me." You reach out to fix his mussed hair.

"Guys, stop making out and bring us the movies!" Robin calls up the stairs. Steve rolls his eyes and heads down, you on his heels. What you find in the Wheeler's basement warms your heart. There are too many of you for the couch and the chairs, so everyone is sprawled out on blankets and pillows, too. Robin has claimed an armchair for herself, Eddie leaning on her legs in front of it. Jonathan and Nancy are on one corner of the couch and Mike and El on the other. Dustin and Will are in another corner entirely, talking about something DnD related, and Lucas and Max are throwing M&Ms into each other's mouths on the armchair they're squeezed into together.

Your little family. You love every single one of them so much. And the boy in front of you is no exception. It feels like you love Steve more and more every day.

"Finally!" Dustin cries. "Alright, it's voting time."

What ensues is the most serious display of democracy you've ever seen. When the vote swings for Gremlins, Steve sends you a look, eyebrows raised like I told you so. He pops the movie in the VCR and sits next to you on the piece of the floor you two have claimed for yourselves. He raises his arm and you move into his side, breathing him in. He smells like his loft -- detergent and aftershave and something earthy.

"Having fun?" he whispers. His lips brush the shell of your ear and you shiver. "Sorry I was late."

"S'okay," you whisper back. "Can I stay at yours tonight?" Not an out of the ordinary ask by any means, but you haven't seen him all day and you really want to hold him tonight. You seem to spend most nights there these days, anyway. But you secretly think that he likes you asking, likes you reminding him that you want to be around him all the time.

"Why, you think you're gonna get lucky?" he teases. El's socked foot pushes on his shoulder as she hushes him. He sticks his tongue out at her.

"Am I not?" you say, softer this time. Even in the dark of the basement you see his cheeks heat. Steve Harrington, cocky until you flirt back, and then he folds. He kisses your temple, nose in your hair. His hand runs up and down your arm and you settle your own on this thigh.

"Nah, it's me who's the lucky one," he says against your skin. You shush him before El can kick him again and rest your head on his shoulder. You're both lucky, you think. You get to have this forever.

I’ve seen a few AUs now where the baby turtles where like, actual baby turtle sized or at least palm sized, so I wanted to know; how would your ‘12 Leo react to a baby Donnie who could fit in the palm of his hand? (I know the ‘12 turtles were a little closer to actual toddler sized, but just imagine)

*squints at you and wonders how much you know about my “In Which” activities on A03*

Anyway. That- is a very loaded question.

So let’s keep imagining.

Imagine discovering this little turt. Imagine him being scared and confused. Imagine him desperately clinging to your attempts to comfort him, despite him not truly knowing who you are.

Imagine if he was completely untouched by harm, and every time he leaned against you, it was like he was trusting his whole body and soul into your care. Every time he smiled or giggled, it was like that little piece of happiness was reserved for you alone in ways that you could never hope to deserve. Every time that he cries, he looks so helpless and heartbroken that all you can do is frantically search for a way to make it better.

Now.

Imagine if this tiny, precious green gremlin of a creature could fit in a single hand. Imagine watching him getting stuck on his carapace and trying to roll over, only to fail over and over. Imagine realizing just how tiny and dependent he is. Imagine that ever time he shifts in your arms, you remember that if he fell, he’s so small that his shell hitting the ground might crack it. Imagine watching him try to crawl and realizing that anything could very easily crush him.

You’re a powerful ninja that can break his arm simply by holding him too tightly. He’s fragile, so fragile that any everything around you is a potential danger that could hurt him.

Imagine if every instinct in your being is constantly on edge and screaming- protect- protect- PROTECT- PROTECT- PROTECT-

Saying this would disrupt things would be an extreme understatement. Forget any kind of self-care/training/patrols, this kid wouldn’t be able to take his eye of lil’ Dee for a second. It would be almost obsessive, the way he can’t stand the thought of putting him down, much less handing him off to anyone else. As long as lil’ Dee is in reach, he’s safe.

Leo will make sure of it.

“Hey, Leo?”

The brother in question doesn’t look up from where his gaze is trained on the braced form of their tiny brother, who is busy trying to figure out how to eat the teddy bear that is several inches taller than him. The leader holds the toy as he lays propped in the crook of his other arm, and Donnie consents to chewing on the fingerless hand, furry arms clasped in six fingers that don’t quite understand how to release yet.

Mikey steps forward and drops on the other side of the couch, repeating his name for the tenth time. “Earth to Leo!”

With Mikey’s insistent voice next to him and hard to miss, he starts and glances to the side. “What?”

Used to his random space-outs by now, Mikey reaches out a finger to curl around the teddy bear’s arm, putting very little force into prying it from Donnie’s mouth. Donnie kicks his legs and growls, playful and determined, unconsciously locking his jaw as tiny fingers dig into the fur. Leo flinches at the sudden movement, but other than shooting him a wary side-eye, says nothing.

But maybe that’s because Mikey had yet to stop talking. “So we talked about it and April says that she’s cool to help take Donnie tonight. I know you don’t want anyone else messing with him, but it’ll only be a few hours. And he likes me and he likes her and we all talked about it, and Raph and Casey’s going to be doing Vigilante stuff far away from here and I know what you’re thinking, but we-”

“Wait, wait, wait, stop.” Leo mutters as he shakes his head, worn-out gaze moving to train on Mikey. “What’s happening tonight?”

Leaving no room for argument, Mikey raises a finger to the sky and then pokes his plastron. “You. Are sleeping.”

“I… Already sleep.” Leo argues anyway, already disengaging from the conversation to let go of the teddy, returning his attention to the turt. The furry head covers the small plastron, stuffed body in Leo’s lap, and Donnie releases his jaw, looking curiously at it.

“I haven’t seen you sleep once since Donnie got small.” Mikey argues as Leo sets a finger on Donnie’s side, preventing him from being able to roll around when he squirms.

“I never said I did it a lot.” Leo mutters reluctantly.

“How about yesterday? How many hours? Six?”

“Mikey…”

“Five? Four? Three?”

“I know my limits.”

“Tell me you at least got an hour.”

A heavy sigh as his shoulders slump, and he somehow seems more tired than before. “I don’t know, Mikey. It’s not like I’m counting.”

“And that’s going to change as soon as April gets here.” Leo looks up as if just queuing into their plans, and Mikey reiterates. “She’ll take Dee, you’ll set an alarm, and go to sleep. If anything happens, which it won’t, I’ll-”

“No!” Leo snaps, both turtles look equally startled by his proclamation. His eyes harden suddenly. “No, Mikey, I’m fine. Seriously. Leave it alone. I’ve got him.”

“Dude, you’re barely eating and you’re not sleeping.” Mikey argues firmly. “We talked about it and we think-“

“Thank you for making plans for me behind my back, but I’m fine.”

The sharpness of Leo’s tone can slice like his katanas. It only further proves how tired he is, as normally he would understand their concern rather than jump to the conclusion that they were working against him. He’d be annoyed, rather than angry.

Mikey stands his ground. “You’re tired.”

“I’ll survive being tired until Bishop’s team finishes the cure!”

“We don’t know how much longer that’ll take!”

“I don’t see why that matters!”

“That’s because your brain’s mush cause you’re tired!”

Donnie’s face scrunches with uncertainty as he looks between them, and Leo catches onto his unease, taking the forgotten bear and flinging it at his brother. Mikey catches it before it can hit him square in the face and Leo gently cups Donnie in his hand, standing up and stating, “If I wanted to sleep, I would sleep. So back off.”

“Leo-”

Leo’s already leaving. “Not up for debate!”

“Leo!”

Mikey stands up and waves his arms in a vent of frustration at the turned shell, but Leo ignores him, heading for the bedroom and slamming the door behind.

“You’re kidding!”

Mikey’s hushed gasp draws April’s attention from her studies, closing the laptop to set it to the side and joining him in the hallway. She stops by Leo’s door, peeking over his shoulder curiously.

From the light spilling in, she can see Leo curled up on the floor, his side leaning against a pillow to keep him from rolling left. His left arm hangs over it, hand slack over a tiny body like a shield, and Donnie cuddles into the blanket nest underneath him. The only form awake is Chompy, sitting near the nest like a little guard, tail tapping the floor as he blinks sleepily at the both of them.

“Chompy. Really?” Mikey whines, completely aghast. “Chompy?”

“At least he’s sleeping?” April offers off-handedly, trying to pretend she’s not equally as upset to be robbed of a chance to play with the hand-size turtle infant. “That’s something?”

“Yeah.” Mikey admits with a sigh. “Guess he really was tired if we haven’t woken him. And Chompy’s a pretty good alarm system…”

She places a sympathetic hand on his shoulder. “We’ll try again another time.”

He groans playfully, and then grabs hold of her hand, tugging her arm back the way she came. “Fiiiine. But we got all evening free and someone’s gotta watch Chris Bradford reruns with me!”

“Mikey.” She laughs as she plants her feet. “I have an essay-”

“Aprriiiiilll!”

“Shhhh!” She glances into the room as Chompy chirps. “Alright, alright. But I’ll have to multitask.”

“Deal!” Mikey hurries into the main room, and April turns to grab the door knob. She watches the tense hand over Donnie’s shell relax again, a sigh leaving his lips as the area quiets, and she wishes them and the watchful alien a soft, “Sweet dreams.”

Chompy settles to sleep as the door shuts, and April heads to the pit.

“So, how many times have you seen this episode?”

“Only seven!”

“Only seven, huh?”

Ok I disappeared for a bit but I am back tonight and I'm in a very particular mood... specifically AUs and MotoGP. I wish I could explain this but I can't. This is just my vibe for the evening, and so since that's my vibe, here are some random headcannons/thoughts that I have for some AUs and for MotoGP. For tonight, all AUs and anything MotoGP is open :))

RANDOM FABIO THOUGHTS:

God I love this man with zero thoughts. He is just... so good. Truly the best boy. The bestest best boy.

I think he absolutely thrives when he can just be your himbo? He just follows you around, doing whatever you want him to and not questioning anything because you're in charge and his job is simply to look pretty and do as he's told.

And because of the above, he LOVES bimbofication? Or I guess, himbofication? He loves when you tease him and edge him over an entire weekend, turning him into a useless, horny mess, when he can't do anything himself and just whines and cries and begs.

Also on a slightly fluffier note, he is a SLUT for forehead kisses. And clothes sharing. He is a little clothes gremlin. You will never have a matching pair of socks ever again.

RANDOM D/S AU HEADCANNONS:

-- Carlos says he doesn't need to see you over the summer break because he knows you want to spend it with Charles, but he ends up nearing subdrop a few times because he got so used to submitting when he needed to that he didnt know what to do when he suddenly wanted to and you weren't there

-- Lando takes naps with you and calls them scenes so that mclaren staff can't come find him

-- max doesn't like to wear a collar because it feels like too much but he does wear a special bracelet you had made for him

-- Pierre and esteban will bicker with each other mid scene with you

RANDOM HYBRID!AU THOUGHTS:

-- Bunny!Arthur is constantly nibbling on his own lip when he's nervous so you buy him some chew toys

-- wolf!Pierre will growl at people who try to touch bunny!charles's ears

-- You start out dating cat!Lando and then the cat distribution system gets confused and you end up with Oscar too. None of you know how this happened.

-- wolf!Carlos has no braincells only instincts around you

RANDOM SUGAR BABY!AU THOUGHTS:

-- You once tried a rule that Charles needs to come to your house with a plug in before planned scenes, but you had to remove that rule almost immediately because your sugar baby got so spoiled by having you stretching him out that he struggles to do it himself now

-- Mick cooks you breakfast every single day, he will literally come over just to cook you breakfast and then leave again

-- Pierre will happily seduce potential business partners to get them to agree to dealings with you (he has made several offers to do so)

-- Lando honestly makes a terrible sugar baby because he never wears the expensive clothes you buy him, choosing to steal your old PJs instead.

Bloodborne WLW ships stuff

Me and @brainhyperfixed touched the topic of how there aren't enough wlw ships around (there are like, 2-3) and then I mentioned I see many of them (because my two braincells somehow contain every single loreless gremlin at once).. They wanted to hear out my ideas but since it is A List I wanted to put them in a separate post 🤔

Just some ships besides the "obvious" ones; Mariadeline (self-explanatory), female hunter x female character (it can be very individual!), Ariadella (heavily controvercial classic, same as Aflred x Crow) and Yurimposter (that's what I call... well, Yurie x Imposter Iosefka, since we don't know imposter's real name...)

Eileen x Doll (Dolleen??): Eileen is the only character in 'outside' world that mentions the Doll, seems like she left an impact on her! Hard to tell whether Doll felt anything back since she seems to care about all dreaming hunters equally and it is implied Doll feels her first (1st) genuine emotion after holding Small Hair Ornament, but it is all speculation that is not THAT restricting... Like I love to say:

Adeline x Doll (Adolline): I guess it is more AU/speculation stuff, imagine them meeting however you like! I am particular on Adeline being able to reach Doll and dream after ascending, personally xd They could just vibe on higher plane of thinking. But it also feels like both Maria and Adeline having sort of a chance on happier fate in afterlife? It is broad in interpretation, really!

Eileen x Viola (I am NOT calling it Violeen xd ..okay maybe I do haha): That's just good old idea about Gacoigne and Viola having open relationship or a polycule! Usually little daughter referring to "grandfather" is interpreted as Henryk, but it is not binding, and in many cultures words like 'grandfather', 'auntie' or 'uncle' can be used towards like, just a close friend of family lol. So yeah, Gascoigne x Henryk whereas Viola x Eileen. Or you can make it a cheating if you want dsjfdhs

Adella x Imposter: Not sure about a creative name for this one, but IT CAME TO ME IN A VISION fsjdjdfs Not a joke, actually! I saw it in a dream! Adella is another person that can be sent into the clinic, so I guess it is an alternative turn of events lol. Adella is acknowledged as someone of 'lower' rank in Church:

Me and @val-of-the-north love joking that Adella simps for strong/smart fellow Church members regardless of gender fdjhfds In my dream, Adella basically kept distracting Fauxsefka from her work by switching between coy and clingy, until they were really affectionate. Adella also really liked her hair 🤔 The mental image seriously got stuck in my mind fdhfdhs But what I am saying is, it feels not as random as what I first thought!

Adella x Iosefka (Iosella): See previous ship, but this time there is no need to twist events to have Adella be safe xd They could just be sitting on operation table and K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Adella x Henriett (Henriella?): Henriett is implied to have been a Church hunter previously, since she has Church weapons yet a drip of a common hunter and is a summon against Church-related bosses! These two could be bitter EXes but were a thing before, or they might be in the love/hate strain after Henriett's "betrayal"!

Henriett x Iosefka (Henriosefka??): See previous ship, but I'd imagine Iosefka being far less bitter, if at all. She is a white Doctor, she sure knows that Healing Church's is very shady and full of dirty secrets! Not to mention her research to free the healing blood from... well, blood:

I like to think they're both redpilled, but Iosefka sees herself more useful staying in Healing Church and doing what she can "against" it in secrecy.

Henriett x Amelia: I am not sure what this ship is called, because actually I've seen it enough times? But I don't know the name! I assume Ameliett? Usual context is the two being close even if Henriett walks her own Hunter way from now on, and Henriett having agreement with Emilia to slay her if/when she becomes a beast! A promice, even.

Yurie x Rom (Yurom, or Vacurie xd): Since Julie is known as 'the last scholar', she could've been one of the original ones! Why she hasn't aged a single day is up to interpretation. But her purpose as a hostile NPC boils down to not letting us reach Willem... and/or Rom. Willem encourages us to hunt Rom, so seems like Julie does NOT want us to hurt her, ritual or not. She really could simply care about her and protect her even after ascension!

Rom x Ebrietas (Spiderietas): The petrified spider Ebrietas is weeping could be Rom's mortal body, especially considered it's 12 large legs and Rom having 12 large holes above her smaller legs... And Ebrietas' lyrics mention Mensis Ritual:

(If you never angered anyone to the point of them mentioning you in a song, what WERE you even doing with your life? xd)

Their bond is speculative, and considering running theme of Great One yearning for a surrogate child Rom could've been exactly that! But we also don't know! Besides, Ebby is a 'special' Great One who is a half human (is adult version of celestial larvae)... It could be love!

Maria x Rom (Romaria): I wrote Adeline and Rom being very similar, so in my headcanons Rom is Maria's type of a girl! But also, Maria and Rom have many parallels (elaborated in this ( x ) post)! They protect fucked up secrets even after death and their teacher is now some guy in a chair fsdhfhsd It can be a ship similar to Mariadeline, but without the same touch of guilt from Maria's side.

Black Church hunter x White Church hunter (nightmaresearch): Did you guys know that.... both of the ladies that kick your ass when you enter cathedral that leads you in Research Hall do not have names ;-; I feel like this seriously robbed the fandom off more ships involving them since they can't even be referred to properly! But they are a perfect dynamic of a smart, arcane-attuned woman and her bodyguard. Take Forgotten Madman and his escort but make it lesbian instead, you see?

Maria x White Church hunter (Knightmare? lol): They could've been close since Maria used to be a caretaker in the Research Hall! The white church lady is not as simple as just another 'nun', since she is praying at the secret Surgery altair and not at the facade 'normal' altair, as well as shoots Blacksky Eye projectiles! And, well:

She was one of the doctors! If not THE doctor (maybe Laurence was REALLY busy with blood instead of eyes!). Depending on how aligned you make Maria with the Healing Church, maybe she was close with this "coworker". We know that Maria dreaded the hunt, but maybe she had faith in the research, rather than feeling like a trapped person there. She did give Adeline a key to go play with other arcane-attuned patients at Lumenweed garden after all!

Maria x Annalise (Mariannalise): Another controvercial classic! It is not very popular for obvious reasons and I am not fond of the ship myself, but some people enjoy it for the potential of exploring really fucked up dynamics. (Some people also think being just collateral relatives is not a big deal in this historical context..)

Maria x Gratia (idk... Maratia? how do you mix these...?): Gratia is wearing Old Hunters set, but with a cap instead of their wide cap and without a glove on her left arm! They were old hunters together! This ship is doomed, of course, since Gratia is found dead in underground jail of the Healing Church. But maybe they were close for some time. And maybe Gratia lost her sanity rather than was caught as "heretic" of the Church. There is a room for this ship, even if not a huge one! I like how they are both very tall and strong women, but Gratia is a brute and Maria is soooo elegant x) They're similar but also not!

Eileen x Henriett (Henrileen): I largely base it on the headcanon that 1) Eileen survives after the night, just retires from the hunt and 2) Henriett was familiar with Gascoigne's family same as Eileen, since both and Gascoine detracted from the Church! They could get together afterwards. Maybe even adopt the little girls (they survive in the scenario where Hunter doesn't try to "help" them because I said so </3).

Viola x Henriett (Henriola): Similar explanation for Eileen x Viola, just different character!

Fauxsefka x Iosefka: I don't know what it is called, but I see it sometimes? It is very vague because based on their identical face data, they could be twins... so, that'd be incest :т But they can also be interpreted as just similarly looking people and "devs were lazy", and I've seen a few artists drawing them somewhat different! It is controvercial in either case since Iosefka tries to help the patients and Fauxsefka just """solves""" the beasthood problem by making them Kin (included Iosefka herself), I'd say it is AT LEAST straining.

Yurie x Amelia or Fauxsefka x Amelia: Since School of Mensis yeeted itself into Nightmare and Choir kinda fell apart, these two are the last people from high rank Church echelons left. I've never actually thought much about them, but as (presumably) next most important people in the Healing Church after the vicar themselves, they could be close!

Fauxsefka x Arianna, Maria x Arianna or Fauxsefka x Maria: Again, I didn't give much thought to these (at least not yet lol), but Fauxsefka is strongly implied to descend from Cainhurst herself! (I only mention justification for that headcanon in every second post, I think you all remember the 'moonlight scent', the Cainhurst summon and the trademark Cainhurst potions prepared by Fauxsefka! I headcanon that Arianna was already born in Yharnam, but we can't know ages of these characters or timeline for sure. These characters are not necessarily related, either! I personally think that Maria x Fauxsefka has the most fundament because they both seem to abandon blood antics of their castle and side with the Church's research instead!

Yurie x Arianna (Yurianna): I will just leave this here:

I doodled it so fast that I forgot to de-colorize Arianna's hair, but that ship happened after a doodle request ask for them both! (featuring my former variant of Julie before I finally accepted her canon hair color data :pensive: ) Julie would be actually helpful to Arianna with caring for her eldrich baby, and maybe help to be less terrified of it, haha. They could get close as a result!

Yurie x White church doctor: Haven't come up with a creative or funny name for this ship, but I enjoy it a lot! My headcanons go so far down as that one White Doctor being one of the original Byrgenwerth people!

In my headcanons, her and Julie are sole most 'responcible' and serious scholars in the whole institution! They'd spend a lot of time together as a result. In Research Hall, too.

Fauxsefka x White church doctor: See above, but with different vibe! In my headcanons, Julie is way more interested in experimenting on creatures and chemicals than actual people... But these two absolutely were super passionate doctors :')

Yurie x Adeline (Yurine?): Came to me in a random idea that Micolash kept getting a little too weird towards Adeline (who was too eager and not at all afraid of Deep Sea horrors unlike others), so Julie felt protective and elbowed him, becoming her doctor instead. I mean, not much things can stop Adeline from her eagerness, but they could've formed a similar bond to Mariadeline!

Yurie x Maria: I don't know how to name this ship in such a way that it doesn't simply form a third real name dshfdh But they both are close with very smart but slightly unhinged girls all too fixated on transcending their humanity. Who also don't understand their worth. Who are also fixated on a guy who is a bad influence (Laurence and Micolash). They have so much to talk about! Though Maria ships are all very sad, since no matter who she had proximity with, apparently it never was enough to prevent her from self-isolation and death...

Honorable mentions:

1) Izzy and Caryll have masculine names according to Japanese original script (イジー/Jiří and カレル/Karel), but some people say 'fuck it, regional variant 🙏', and also he/him or they/them lesbians, or GNC women easily could pick masculine names! So, Karel could have good ship with Rom, especially under assumption that they both were way more in touch with Willem's ideas and were nerds together. Or maybe Karel x Yurie! At the same time, consider Jiří x Maria or Jiří x Gratia!

2) I've listed pairings, but these characters can always make poly ships, remember that!

3) I haven't found a sapphic ship personally for Dores, but Dores is a feminine name, and in original script Dores is not a 'he'! There is no gender, actually:

Error appeared from translators referring to Dores and not their mask! But yes, this can be female character, who can also be shipped with any woman from Byrgenwerth, or from Old Hunters!

Okay that's all..... for now fsdhdfs I tried to focus on the context and explanation, and not dive into my vision of characters' personalities or else I'd be here all day. That was interesting to revisit! Again, obviously I do not ship all of these, and some even really contradict my headcanons; this is the post of IDEAS!
