jane austen did NOT make lizzie bennet an “i’m not like the other girls” character who shuns feminine accomplishments; what lizzie shuns is the society that restricts women to these accomplishments.
so whenever i see adaptations/opinione that make lizzie seem like a rejector of ALL feminine traits i fume silently and nod.
