DAY 1: favorite division

🎤Fling Posse

I must say that initially choosing which Division would be my favorite was really difficult. But then I came across a song, Stella, that made me instantly decide that my favorites, from that moment on, could not but be these three mismatched freaks lol.

The Fling Posse, at first glance, may seem like the weakest and least badass division, musically speaking, because of all the kawaii, candy pink and pastel colored vibes that characterise them. But I can assure you that, in reality, this is REALLY just a facade.

It's not for nothing that they turned out to be the winners of the 2nd D.B.R.... so kawaii, lollipop and sparkles MY ASS.

Why do I like the Fling Posse, then?

First of all, because of the music, because I think that (apart from Bad Ass Temple) they're really the only division of which I love ALL the songs, from the first to the last.

And the most interesting thing is that their music is EXTREMELY varied. You'd think they only have cute songs about love and friendship…hell NO.

An example of that might be Shibuya Marble Texture, but then they shoot out songs like Jackpot or Stella, all of which have a completely different vibe. They're nothing short of phenomenal. And actually, tbh, even when the music seems light-hearted, there are songs where the lyrics say some very heavy things (an example? Black Journey) .

Another example of perfectly juggled contrast.

Another reason? I love all three members, unquestionably.

Starting with Ramuda, who I never thought I would love, at first, when I entered Hypmic ("KAWAII PINK SHORTIE GREMLIN?? NO, THANKS??"...well, see me now.).

The characteristic behind the three of them is precisely that they always present themselves with a façade of politeness, but in reality each of them hides an extremely serious and mysterious, if not downright dark side.

And this makes the contrast with the luminous vibe they display most of the time something exceptional and particularly intriguing.

Summary: Wanting to have your partner look cute should not be a surprise! Especially when they are cute! Well, that's at least Ramuda's opinion. And he's not afraid to let it be known.

The idea had hit Ramuda one day, when he had a closer look at Ann. His gaze had wandered up and down to observe them as they had seated themself and were just sipping on the cup of coffee. All while he had been sitting on the other couch across the table, the lollipop in his mouth moving up and down and the gaze ever so sharp.

He had not said a word, having been occupied by thoughts instead when looking at them. Ther clothes… Ann’s clothes… It was always the same sweater, the same jeans, the same belt – The same outfit. Or having slight variations. At most he saw them running around in one colored shirts and sweaters alongside their jeans but that’s it. It was usually simple… A little dull. They could look a little better, couldn’t they? Maybe a little more colorful, more than green and black at least. Oh especially black… The most prominent color in their wardrobe, as far as he was concerned. 

It wasn’t just dull, it was also a little sad… And it started to bug Ramuda the more time had passed. Sure, Ann could wear whatever they wanted and the outfit choice they usually had was not unfitting (more interesting than the simple style they had when he came over to visit sometimes) but… As a fashion designer… It bugged him on every possible level. It was as if they were hiding themself after all, even if there was no need. Do not stick out… Well… Yeah but—

“Say Ann–Chan, don’t you want to look cute sometimes?” He decided to ask as he removed the lollipop from his mouth, waving it a little shortly after. This made them look at him, placing the cup down, and staring rather confused. 

“Cute?” They repeated, as if not certain what he had been hinting at. “Ahaha… I don’t think it’d fit me.”

“Did you ever try it?” He asked. “As a style change y’know. A little variety.”

“No, not really.” They shook their head. “Besides, I’m not cute nor could I pull it off. I mean, if you compare the both of us… It’d be weird. I’m far from cute.”

The response bugged him even more. His gaze was the equivalent of a glare and he let out a light grumble. ‘Not cute’ they said. They are ‘not cute’. And they said it with an ever so calm smile, as if it was a mere fact. As if it was nothing. He was annoyed at this, even if he had not been really surprised in the end. He couldn’t help but pout lightly, though out of sheer annoyance. “What makes you say that?” He decided to challenge them a little, making them think.

And it worked to some extent. They were looking at him yet again, becoming more confused, almost irritated. “It’s obvious, isn’t it? I’m not exactly falling under the category ‘cute’ y’know.”

“Says who?”

“I… Think no one has to say it. It’s kinda obvi–”

“I think Ann–Chan is cute.” Ramuda said bluntly, interrupting them. He didn’t want to hear the finished thought to be honest. “I don’t count now?”

He had them right then and there, making them turn red in an instant. They may as well have been a stoplight, given how hard they were blushing. “Wh… Wha— That’s not funny!”

“I’m not joking.” He sighed before putting the lollipop back into his mouth, his gaze fixated on them. And he didn’t stop looking, wanting to witness their reaction. 

It was certainly a lot, them being unable to handle it. They were shivering on the spot, almost steaming like some pot, and fumbled around with their fingers. They were tripping over their words, unable to form a sentence. Well, except for letting out a quick ‘I’ maybe, over and over. They wanted to say something yet he could counter it most likely. Not like he had to, this may as well have been a one hit ko. All because he said that he meant it. And he did, really. This reaction alone was cute. Ramuda understood perfectly why Gentaro loved to mess around with them. These reactions were adorable! Then again, in this case Ramuda had not been teasing… He meant every word. 

“How about I show it to you sometime?” He suddenly continued, after having witnessed Ann being the stuttery mess for a few minutes. He even began smiling again, the idea alone making him more than eager. In fact, it should be more than fitting and he would be happy to provide. Might also be the perfect excuse for his sudden suggestion: “Say what, I’ll design you some clothes myself!”

This had them in a literal shock, flinching on the spot, nearly backing away on the couch. “M… Making some clothes!?” They repeated, as if this was the most shocking thing having come out of his mouth. It wasn’t, they had heard him say worse. Apparently it was fine to joke about breaking a guy’s bones but when suggesting to make them an outfit… That’s apparently outrageous now. “It’s fine, don’t waste your energy on someone who has no idea about fa—” 

“Who said you get a say in this?” He interrupted, not even sorry with how he had phrased it. He even hopped off his seat all of a sudden. “I’ll make you clothes because I want to.”

“A… Aha… Uhm… I only have so much mo—”

“Ann–Chan, you’re not a client!” Ramuda had to stop them right then and there. “You don’t have to pay me anything! Nor do you owe me! I want to do it!”

This… Seemed surreal for them, judging from their expression. It was hard to accept, that much was certain, and he heard them mumble something. Though he could not make the words out back then. But he knew that they would not be convinced by that and would refuse, perhaps feel bad. But no worries, he knew what to say next.

“If it helps, see it as a selfish request of mine~” He suggested.

It made them turn their head back to him. “Eh? A… Selfish request?”

“Yeah! I want to see my partner in cute clothes! Does that sound selfish enough?” Ramuda assured them, putting on the biggest smile he could muster.

“W.. Well… Uhm… I dunno… Maybe? Erm…”

“Yeah, I’m doing this for my own amusement after all~” And with that it was already settled for Ramuda, him turning away and heading to his desk and grabbing the measuring tape he had placed there. He rolled it a little open, having it in both of his hands and turned right back, grinning cheerfully. “Let’s start right now! Because I’ll need your measurements sooner or later~”

Yeah, he was going to have a lot of fun with this.
