On one hand I'm like, Xuening, girl, stop beating yourself up about your choices this time around! Yeah okay the Yan family still ended up in exile - but they were able to prepare and Yan Lin's coming of age ceremony didn't end up a huge bloodbath. Big win! You got to have a nice romantic terrifying adventure with Zhang Zhe, a man who has never spent more than 20 minutes consecutively with any woman other than his mother before and thus imprinted on you like a beautiful autistic ducking. He not only survived your adventure, he didn't break his leg, *and* his career benefited. Yes, his mum met the same sad end but that one is not on you, babe! All Zhang Zhe had to do was tell her, hey mum I'm going on a secret mission, and she could have stayed at home until he got back. You don't have to firebomb your relationship with him and blame yourself for his mum's death, really! Knowing what happened last time doesn't make you culpable for everything that happens this time.

On the other hand, I too am a control freak and would have the exact same frustration at not being able to change history to my satisfaction, regardless of my actual ability to do so.

But I still find it a bit funny that our main character appears to have main character syndrome.
