New Dawn: "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish" -
New Dawn: “The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish” – Новая Заря: “Сказка о рыбаке и рыбке” (1935) У пушкинской “Сказки о рыбаке и рыбке” была круглая дата: ее впервые опубликовали в 1835 году. (1935). Pushkin’s “Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish” had a round date: it was first published in 1835. The perfume came out to celebrate the…

Wednesday, February 1, 2023
It is still very cold out. There is nothing but ice. I stayed wrapped in a blanket most of the day near the space heater. Julien and I had hot chocolate again too!
Today is the first day of February, and I am participating in a writing contest. I started outlining what I wanted my story to look like today. I will start writing tomorrow. It has to be less than 1000 words, so it should not take long to write. Mom will review it for me and make notes, and then I can edit a second draft for a second review before finalizing it. I made a schedule to give myself enough time.
I had much to do today, and I am tired. Wednesday is always long, and I am excited to sleep.
Tasks Completed:
Algebra 1 - Reviewed Pythagorean Theorem + practice + lesson on applications involving quadratics + practice + rectangle word problem practice + quiz
Lit and Comp 1 - Studied vocabulary + read chapter 23 of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
Spanish 1 - Translated sentences using comparison + read about -ar verbs and conjugation to preterit + watched video on preterite tense + wrote out hablar conjugation in the preterit and a sentence in the preterit
Bible 8 - Read Ezekiel 24 + answered discussion questions with Mom
Modern History 8 - Read about U-boats and Higgins Boat in WWII + filled in notes on worksheets
Physics/Chemistry 8 - Demonstrated Newton's Three Laws of Motion with household objects and wrote about them on worksheet
Modern Art - Read about Jacob Lawrence + filled out timeline piece + practiced making animations
Practice - Practiced this week’s assigned pieces for 30 minutes + worked on memorization of assigned pieces
Chores - Emptied the dishwasher and put dishes away
Khan Academy - Reviewed algebra concepts

Hi, Tarren! For the Music Asks, how about numbers: 6, 15, 17, 25?
Hi hi Krys!!
6. favorite long song
One of my favorite longer songs is "To the Quasar" by Ayreon. The album has a bunch of long songs, but this song in particular has stuck with me for years now. Though I highly recommend listening to the album as a whole as it's a conceptual album
15. favorite instrumental song
Hmm one of my more recent favorites was a song from the ballet Paquita, a ballet choreographed to the music by Édouard Deldevez and Ludwig Minkus. The Variation 5: Allegro non troppo is short and so magical sounding.
17. favorite love song
Surprising no one with what a big Mozart fan I am, one of my favorite love songs is "Voi che sapete" from Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. I don't even know Italian but I memorized all the words to this 😅
25. favorite song with violin
Hmm probably a cheat cause I couldn't think of much music besides classical with violin off the top of my head. But I really enjoy this "Violin Concerto in D major, Op 35, TH.59 - I: Allegro moderato" by Tchaikovsky, it's always in my classical playlist
