i need less "happy, fluffy cinnamon roll" luke skywalker and more "raised in the ass-end of nowhere with spiders 4ft across who used to shoot rats the size of saint bernards for fun, who at 19 killed one million people in a single shot and just happens to be really optimistic for a guy who is a guerilla fighter and a space revolutionary"

It’s Luke’s lightsaber, it’s Anakin’s lightsaber, it’s the Skywalker lightsaber.  Nah, fam, I don’t care that Anakin built it or that Luke inherited it or anything, they both only had it for a handful of years.  That was probably the twenty-seventh lightsaber Anakin built, he probably barely even remembers which one is which anymore.  And Luke’s green one is the one that’s truly his, that first one was only a starter lightsaber. You know who held onto it for nearly ten times as long as they did?  Nearly two decades of holding onto it?  Who probably poured the most of themselves into that saber?  YEAH THAT’S RIGHT. Anyway, it’s Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber now.  The Kenobi lightsaber.  His city now.

In which Han and Leia bully persuade Luke into ending his goth phase. Seriously Luke, it’s been what? Six years? Gotta change it up a little.
Every time I’m drawing the OT3 Din and Ezra have so much detail and so many different colors. Ezra has three colors on JUST the armor on his arm. Every time I get to Luke it’s with a sigh of relief. He’s so easy to color. So I’m designing a new outfit for him. Because apparently I can’t just let myself have nice things.
It looks really cool though y’all, I’m excited for you to see it.

My ‘Din’s Haunted’ comic series.
Note: I did not come up with the concept of the Dark Saber being haunted. The original concept for ‘Din’s Haunted’ is from the lovely @kyberpistol and @keldabekush.  Either way I fell in love with their concept and made my own story from it as well!

STAR WARS EPISODE V- THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) ↳ Its energy surrounds us ...and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you.

Here it is - Luke’s new TKT outfit! I started the design with Obi-Wan’s outfit from the Clone Wars series. It looked like Obi-Wan had a brown tunic under the cream (you’re welcome, Leia) colored ones, but you could really only see it around the neck. I decided to make Luke’s a more visible mixture of tan and brown. All-white Jedi robes don’t really suit him after everything he’s done and been through. The two circles are meant to represent the twin suns of Tatooine.
I also wanted the outfit to be similar in construction to what Luke’s used to wearing already. Because Leia is a good sister who knows that when you wear the same thing for six years anything else is gonna feel weird.
I considered giving Luke a brown glove, but honestly the uncovered prosthetic hand was one of my favorite things from The Last Jedi. Because it meant that at some point Luke decided that wasn’t something he needed to hide. I like the idea that when Leia makes him think intentionally about how he wants to present himself to students he has to ask himself the question, “Am I going to hide this part of myself and my history from them?” And the idea that he’d answer no to that makes me smile.
The poncho (Leia spent a solid hour showing him how to make it look like that. He grumbled about already knowing how to wear a poncho the whole time.) is probably the most symbolic thing on here. It’s dark in color because the Jedi order that Luke’s inherited and is tasked with rebuilding is broken and scattered, scarred and scared. Few are alive and those that are have lived through trauma they’ll never fully shake. That’s on his shoulders. The Jedi symbol is a very light color though, because the Jedi are known for being a light in dark times. And it’s large and prominently featured on his back. To be a Jedi in the Empire was to have a target on your back. Luke wears it openly as a declaration that they’re not hiding anymore.

*Leia and Han bickering about adult things*
Luke’s gay ass: are you two-?
Leia: you’ll understand when you’re older.
Luke: I’m- hang on- do we know who was born first-?
Leia: No. We don’t. So it’s me. I’ve decided.

Luke Skywalker is an excellent liar, in every possible sense. he mostly lies using the truth, but when it comes to blatant falsehoods he’s convincing, even before any mind-tricks. you don’t find out he lied until after the fact, if ever. he has a reputation for being unwavering honest and/or a bad liar, which is a good liar’s best shield.
he very rarely lies, choosing to do so only when it matters.
or when it would be very, very funny.
all that is to say that the entirety of his sequel trilogy characterization is, in-fact, an increasingly desperate, admittedly tasteless attempt to shake-off an overly ardent fan club by telling blatant falsehoods about his backstory
