Thinking about force ghost Anakin playing peekaboo with Grogu

Also Din being freaked the fuck out by the idea of a force ghost. Especially bc he can’t see them. The first time things get hot and heavy between him and Luke, Luke is all distracted and glaring into nowhere, goes bright pink when Din asks why he’s glaring into the corner mouthing something - and it turns out to be Yoda lecturing Luke on attachments. It takes a while before Din stops asking if they’re alone in between make out sessions

Or Luke’s last blue milk pudding going missing, and Din blames it on Grogu (bc nobody can ever stay mad at his sweet little face.) but Anakin, who absolutely adores Grogu, and is still of the belief that nobody is good enough for Luke, pops up to tell Luke that it was Din. That he and Obi Wan saw it with their own eyes!

And Din immediately realising what happened as soon as Luke turns to him and glares, arms crossed disappointedly. 1. For eating it. 2. For blaming their sweet, innocent son. When he leaves the room, after being assured that it would be replaced, Din is glaring around the room grumbling about being ratted out

Picturing him sneakily eating it and out loud asking that they please don’t tell Luke. He’ll talk to an empty room, bc he’s mildly uncomfortable with their presence

But mostly, thinking about Anakin dorkily crouched down playing peekaboo. Luke finds it endearing - feels good about seeing a soft side of his father, what he might have been like/what he was like pre-dark side. And Din one day just seeing Grogu giggling and clapping at nothing and being uncomfortable/creeped out as fuck. Like when a cat meows/stares at an empty corner of a room

As the sun was slowly dipping below the horizon and scattered specks of dust swirled through the air around the ancient ruins, Jedi and Mandalorian spun gracefully across the temple's floor. Din felt himself getting lost in mesmerizing sky-blue gaze of his cyar'ika's eyes, feeling a deep connection and wholeness he has never experienced in his life before. Luke's charming, yet naive smile made him feel like he had finally found a true sense of "home". With each step, they moved in perfect harmony, and in those precious moments of blissful joy, the entire galaxy seemed to fade away, leaving the two of them in a world of their own, fulfilling their endless longing for tranquil happiness and healing their wounded hearts.

I had a bigger vision of this scene in my mind (and needed more time to polish it tbh) but with upcoming UE changes I had to hurry up and finish it before the end of year, besides, working on this project for almost 3 months has got me totally exhausted. Still I'm happy I managed to finish it somehow and fulfill my biggest dinluke dream 🕺🏼💖🕺🏻

Long story short @veradragonjedi and I are watching Over The Garden Wall so I thought about giving it a go and try to do a Modern (-ish?) AU for the clan of three dressing up as OTGW characters for Halloween!! And here we are!! 🧡✨

Also— I originally planned to do more drawings through the month but my anxiety and art block decided to join forces and oh well— anyway— hope to get the ideas I had done next month and idc if they’re Halloween themed >:)

After S3 we are clearly entering the home sweet home DinLuke era and I am so much looking forward to it.

Before part of me moves on to this new setting, I would like to thank all of you fanfiction writers for your stories, in which Din is the Mand’alor or struggles with the burden of becoming the leader of Mandalore or even only wields the darksaber. From what I have read so far, I enjoyed them a lot. I still think Din would have been great in this role, although now with the latest S3 ending I am happy for him. Best is, that becoming a clan of three is so much easier now. Anyway, many thanks for all your amazing stories. <3
