Ren has unknowingly been suffering from multiple layers of corruption from the environment of Avernus, and several mental afflictions stemming from that, for days. Lulu noticed something was off about him and cleared him of all of it with a rapid-fire of restoration spells. The mental shift made him dizzy. 🥺

In the Descent Into Avernus campaign I’m in, we’re going on a very serious and very dangerous infiltration mission and sent the 16 year old and the lawful good celestial to take the demon grinder back to the home base. This is what I think is happening while we’re in mortal danger. If they crash the paladin’s car, they’re as good as dead.

For the record, the man on the front is made of wax. No mortals were harmed in the hijinks of the children.

I would pay all the money in the world for a post-game DLC expansion adventure from Larian about the gang’s journey to Bel’s forge in Avernus to fix Karlach’s engine.

The House of Hope (now sans Raphael) could be our home base. It’d be fun to try and properly depose Zariel while messing around in the Hells, too. Bel and Asmodeus would (obviously) get up to their typical devilish fuckery before the end, but it’d still be neat to see the wartime political machinations of the devils when they’re working together AND against one another so brazenly. Mizora could throw her hat into the ring again for a taste of revenge. Larian could even include some of Zariel’s plot lines from Descent into Avernus and give us Lulu as a new companion in the efforts against the Blood War!

UGH. I’d die. I’d pay a billion dollars. I realize anything post-game would be basically impossible to release because of all the possible endings and companion outcomes, but still. I can dream.

Hello this is random but for any of my followers who are bg3 fans I have a wee little question.

BG3 END SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT - I DO NOT RECOMMEND READING IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED THE GAME

I am embarking on running a solo d&d game for myself that takes place after bg3 ends because I do not want the story of my first character to end just yet.

I am currently writing a little epilogue to bg3 that will also serve as the prologue to my solo game. My goal is to have my character Walker and Shadowheart join Karlach and Wyll in Avernus and go on an adventure to wreck Zariel's shit.

I'm basically wondering if any of y'all have suggestions for me to consider while running this lol. I thought about using Descent to Avernus as a guide but then realized that wouldn't make sense since that is the prologue to BG3.

Starting level is flexible. Obviously the characters end BG3 at lvl 12 but I had the idea that Zariel could delevel them when they show up in hell or something.

Are there resources out there for encounters in Avernus during the Blood War? Are there portions of Descent to Avernus that would still work for my purposes? I'm highly interested in Lulu the Hollyphant and the Sword of Zariel being parts of this adventure. But the main goal is going to be getting Karlach to a place where she can dropkick Zariel into the fucking stratosphere.

This is just for fun but let me know if you have any thoughts! I am only mildly experienced with DMing and have never run a solo game so I am looking for anyone who has experience in either of these areas to offer whatever advice they have. And if anyone would be interested in my writing/documenting of this adventure, also let me know!

inspired by bee’s cheat-sheet for meredith i am contractually obliged to give one for diana

born a commoner in northern tethyr, her maternal line had been blessed by milil; the god of music. producing many bards and many aasimar through the generations. diana being the most recent in the family line. there was no hiding diana’s status as aasimar. surpassing seven feet in height, her hair almost metallic gold, her eyes orbs of glowing light, so she owned it. if everyone was going to be looking at her anyway, she might as well bask in it. she earned a name for herself as a bard in local taverns. the spectacle of her drawing crowds. most aasimar hide, and for good reason, but not diana.

she catches the eye of a count, who commissions her as court musician. he becomes obsessed with her: with her beauty, her talent, and the effect her presence has on him. seeing her as impressive arm candy and taking much credit in “discovering” her. he wants to marry her, takes her rejection poorly, threatening her family and forcing all of them to flee tethyr and change their names. the family settles in elturel.

diana keeps moving, travelling as a bard (disguised at first) being taken under the wing of an eladrin bard who teaches her the way of glamour. however in baldur’s gate her divinity draws more unwanted attention, this time from cultists. the cult of tiamat abduct her after a performance; their intentions for her as a sacrifice painfully clear. while she is imprisoned, elturel is sent into avernus with her family inside.

a group of adventurers sent to investigate elturel’s disappearance find the cell she was imprisoned in during their investigation in the tiamat cult. from them, she learns of elturel’s fate and joins them in their travels (whether they like it or not). those travels leading them to elturel- to avernus.

their party consists of a cleric named meredith, a tiefling druid named khiall, a tabaxi gunslinger named bizarre rock (lovingly called bizzy), and a human warlock from the flaming fists (who they meet and ally with in avernus).

avernus is a bad time for a lot of reasons. between the blood war, the cultists, other such horrors, and her family being imperiled, in addition to her divine nature. an angel is not meant to be in the hells, and it physically pains her to be there.

i’m not going to write down all of the descent into avernus, what’s important to know is that, even if only temporarily, they bring back zariel’s original self. long enough that they can return elturel to the material plane and make them the champions of elturel. in the process, khiall absorbs some of the power of zariel’s sword and his entire personality is scrubbed away. replaced by proxy (a proxy of the sword’s sentience)

once returned to the surface, the party goes their separate ways, and diana returns to baldur’s gate. there, she establishes a tavern “the golden mammoth”, named for lulu, a hollyphant companion they made in avernus. she absolutely abuses her fame as a champion of elturel for publicity. proxy remains with diana, and any of her former party always has a room.

in terms of a baldur’s gate 3 verse; the golden mammoth has recently opened in the lower city and is receiving good business, and diana is plotting against gortash probably on the dl, but is most definitely planning on helping to defend the city, she is a hero after all.

So, I'm running the d&d module Descent into Avernus at the LGS I work. Week before Baldur's Gate prerelease, we meet Lulu the NPC. Weekend of Prerelease, one of my players and secondary DM pulled an etched foil Lulu, Loyal Hollyphant in one of his prize packs. Yesterday, we used said etched foil as her miniature in-game (just got to 3d print a stand for her next week). Please give a high five to the team that made this possible. It makes the set feel so special to us players of both games.
