Who was your first muse? Favourite thing about roleplaying? Least favourite thing about roleplaying? What are some similarities between you and your muse/muses? Would you be friends with your muse if they were real?
Who was your first muse? Overall, it was Bella Swan in chatzy rooms lmfao. Then she was always taken so Leah Clearwater became my main girlie. I've kept her more or less since then. My first tumblr indie character was an oc hunter with a Lyndsey Fonseca fc. Her name was Maddie something I honestly don't remember, but I've been thinking about her a lot lately!
Favourite thing about roleplaying? I really have enjoyed world building a whole lot. I love seeing people take original characters and build them up so beautifully or very minimally developed canon characters and make them something of their own. Everyone even has a unique take on certain aspects of very canon characters and it's just nice to see different perspectives... Making them their own with further development or dismisal of things in canon that they don't agree with.
Least favourite thing about roleplaying? Probably my own damn nerves. I'm trying to get to a spot where I feel more confident in putting myself back out there but I have held an inferiority complex for a long time and I worry too much about being annoying or people not agreeing with how I write my characters. I keep taking on more muses on my other blogs and I worry a lot about their dialogue running together. I honestly just really need to work on writing with people that want to write with me and not caring about the rest? Not getting as easily discouraged or feeling left out of things.
What are some similarities between you and your muse/muses? I have so many muses at this point and I relate to a lot of them in different ways but overarchingly a lot of them are stubborn like me and have a kind heart, which I have been told that I do and like to think that I do. Jess and I are specifically pretty different, especially before her death where she's all around extroverted and bubbly. But her temper can be pretty relatable 💀 And I can relate to her sarcasm and teasing streaks.
Would you be friends with your muse if they were real? Please!! Absolutely. I would fall to my knees for Jess. She's just one of those people that you can always count on to brighten your day. I admire a few people with her personality in my real life. Outwardly so friendly and inclusive but not afraid to stand up for herself or others and generally doesn't give a damn about what others think.

What’s been the most surprising thing about being a parent? “They say that when you become a parent, you get triggered with your own childhood stuff, for better or worse. It’s really amazing how specific it’s become for me. I’ve been amazed by the shortcomings that have come to focus that I didn’t realize I needed to work on. In addition, there are these things that I was naturally really good at that I had no idea I was good at until I became a mom. Also, every six months they go through these crazy cognitive-behavioral leaps, and you are faced with these new, really easy and really challenging experiences. That’s my favorite thing about parenting: it is a nonstop look into how you can become a better person.”

As someone who has meta’d the shit out of Whatcha Gonna Do, please go on and on about Dottie in Angie’s uniform. That fever dream is so revealing about what goes on in Peggy’s head 👀
Oh, Bee, you don’t know what you’ve enabled.
First, let’s talk about the biggest and most glaring motif: the automat. The entire dream takes place there, it’s where Peggy goes when she’s lost and confused (after Krzeminski died, after Colleen died, when she needed a friend to talk to). So already we know that the automat is where Peggy feels safe enough process her feelings. Where she can find a fresh pair of eyes who she knows will listen to her.
Angie obviously thinks the world of Peggy, but she also knows just how human Peggy is; a facet of her which Daniel misses, at least in season 1 (”the girl on the pedestal, turned into some daft whore”). Angie is who Peggy turns to when she’s falling apart, and who she trusts enough to tell when the world is against her (season 1) and when she doesn’t understand her own feelings (the dream).
Now, Dottie appearing in the automat uniform is important for several reasons, all of which relate to the idea of sanctuary. As mentioned earlier, Peggy thinks of the automat (and Angie) as her safe place. Dottie appearing in that safe place, dressed like the person Peggy trusts, would be incredibly jarring for her. I think that’s more why she asks “what are you doing here.” She knows Dottie occupies a place in her mind, that part is not surprising to her, but what sets Peggy off balance is that she is appearing in Peggy’s safe place. It’s deeply violating.
Now for the content of the dream. In Whatcha Gonna Do, Peggy is supposedly choosing between Daniel and Jason, and she is confused not just because she has to choose between the two men, but because she doesn’t know what she wants as a whole. Does she want a relationship? Does she even want one of the men in front of her? Her world is tilting off kilter because for the first time since before the war, she doesn’t know how to proceed. When she needs to figure it out, she goes to the automat, to Angie.
Normally I would say that that’s what any friend is there for - to listen and act as a sounding board - but Angie is a key part of the dance. She is Peggy’s conscious. She pulls Peggy away from Daniel right as Peggy is about to make her choice, i.e. her conscious is telling her this is wrong. Her dance amidst the ensemble is the only one Peggy doesn’t hesitate to join. Not only is Angie her conscious, Angie is her safe place, she keeps her on her toes, and Angie grounds her outside of work.
Also, does anyone look at their friends like this?
