#Madrigal x reader
yandere-toons · 1 year
Text
I just came up with this slightly angsty but sweet idea about the platonic yandere madrigal family obsessing over a reader that's the child of Bruno.
-Pepa, Julieta and Alma would all be the most protective over them, especially if they looked identical to Bruno.
-Dolores and Mirabel would without a doubt be the best friends of them, Mirabel would know what it's like to feel like an outcast since the people most likely aren't treating the reader very well due to their relation to Bruno. I imagine Dolores would definitely be a great best friend too, she hears everything people say or murmur about them so I imagine she'd be painfully aware of how the people treat reader. Since she's also a platonic yandere in this like the rest of the family I can totally see her blackmailing people with stuff she's heard about them whenever they talk crap about reader.
-Dolores would definitely also be the one to comfort Reader as she can hear their crying from how they're treated every night.
-Bruno would definitely watch over his child in secret, he'd never want to miss even a second of their life
-Julieta would definitely fuss over their injuries, even if it's something like a paper cut. So would Alma and Pepa.
-Isabela would without a doubt nonchalantly roast the crap out of anybody that dares to to think it's a good idea to talk crap about you to her. She'd do it with a tone in her voice that says "I'm better than you and you should know that" all the while subtly roasting them in the process. They'd never recover from it lmao
-Camilo would definitely do his best to make them laugh whenever they're feeling down, he'd shapeshift into various people and do funny impressions of them
-Antonio would be absolutely adorable, he'd totally get his animals to comfort Reader whenever they're feeling down, too.
-I can see Luisa just randomly picking up reader whenever there's a puddle so they won't have to step in the puddle lol.

The stars hung in the night sky as if strung in the air by invisible strings. It was peaceful, with the occasional sound of crickets in the background as you walked away from
As soon as dinner was over, you immediately rushed away, unable to handle the congratulations from the many Madrigals.
Though Alma made great points as to why it should be you in charge of the ceremony, you couldn't help the small clouds of doubt that snuck into your head, telling you otherwise.
"Well, no use of stressing myself out over it. What's done is done," you told yourself, wrapping your cloak tighter around your figure.
As you walked down the dirt path to your home, the sight of a small candle flickering in the windowsill brought a smile to your face; it meant that your father was home.
You haven't seen him in a while—four months, to be exact. Your father was often away, traveling beyond the giant walls that sheltered the enchanted city from outside civilizations to trade.
Sometimes, his expeditions would last far longer than four months, so he must have decided to come back sooner rather than linger out there in the world.
With a quickened pace, you soon found yourself standing before the wooden door. Opening it, you were met with your father sitting in a chair near the crackling fireplace, staring down at something in his lap while your mother sat across from him, gently bouncing a small bundle in her arms.
At the sound of your entrance, your father looked up, a tired look on his face.
The second you blink, your mother is gone. Shaking your head, you turned to smile at your father. "Pápa, you're home."
Your father said nothing, only returning a small smile of his own before standing up to give you a hug.
As you reached your arms around him, you were able to catch a glimpse of the photograph that once held his attention before your arrival: it was a picture of your smiling mother.
"How have you been, muñequita? I haven't seen you in a while." Your father asked, pressing a loving kiss onto your forehead before releasing you to walk back over to the chair.
Following him, you set yourself down on the floor at his feet instead of the chair across from him.
"I've been okay, Pápa. The Madrigals have kept me company and well in your absence. How about you?" You stared up at him with a questioning stare, taking in his disheveled form.
"I've been great, muñequita," he responded, sending you a smile that never reached his eyes.
You wanted to argue against his answer; he looked far from great, with dark bags hanging underneath his eyes and sunken cheeks that showcased his cheekbones, but you held your tongue.
The next few moments were spent in peace as your father and you caught up with one another, the crackling of the fireplace adding to the calm atmosphere.
"So a little birdie told me that you'll have a leading role in this year's Día de Muertos. Is it true?"
You know that he knew that it was true; he just wanted to hear you admit it. "Yes, Pápa. Doña Alma made the announcement at dinner. Apparently, she thought it would be best if I'd taken control and hosted this year's ceremony because of my gift."
After listening to you give the explanation, your father held a hand to his chest, letting an exaggerated sigh leave his body. "Ah, to think, you'll be in charge of such an important event. My little girl has grown up so fast."
You suppressed an action eye roll at his dramatics: "Pápa, it's not that big of a deal."
"Sorry, sorry. I'm just so happy for you, Muñequita. I can't wait to see what you have in store. I'm sure you'll blow us all away," he said, standing up before giving your hair a small ruffle. "Well, I'm off to bed. Goodnight, muñequita."
"Pápa," you whined, moving away from his hands to pat down the now-messy strands.
He gave one more chuckle before walking away. Just as he exited the living room, he sent you one last look over his shoulder. "Your mother would be very proud of how far you've come, Y/N."
You felt a smile grow on your lips at the sincere look on your father's face as he told you this. "Goodnight, Pápa."
As soon as he was gone, you turned to watch the fireplace, knees folded to your chest.
"You know, your father's right. I am proud of you." Your head swiveled over to stare at your mother, who sat in a rocking chair, gently bouncing the small bundle held against her chest. "You've come so far."
"Thank you, Mamá," you said with a smile to the spirit.
Two years after being blessed with your gift, tragedy struck your family. Your mother, Jovena, died while prematurely giving birth to your younger brother, Arlo. Everyone in Encanto mourned for your family's losses. A mother, wife, and granddaughter were taken from this world, and a life was taken before it had the chance to live.
Your great-grandmother was so distraught by their deaths that she died a few months later, at the ripe age of 89, due to grief. Your small family had been shattered since their deaths, leaving only you and your father to try and piece it back together.
Ten years later, your father seemed to still be mourning your mother.
Despite having died, your mother still crosses the realms to watch over your father, with your great-grandmother, Francisca, coming to chat now and then. You even got visits from your paternal grandmother, Alejandra.
You were left baffled as to why your mother and paternal grandmothers were the only ones to cross over and visit, and not your maternal grandmother, Beatriz. She soon revealed that those of the Muertez lineage did not pass into the same realm as others after their deaths; instead, they were sent to a grey zone to work as helpers for the goddess of death, assisting lost souls to the afterlife as well as serving as guides for the gifted Muertezs in the living realm.
However, since the genocide of the Muertez line left you as the last one, you were assigned your mother as your guide. In the past decade, your mother has taught you a lot about your gift and what it entails.
She spoke of how each and every power gifted to the women of the Muertez line was as unique and different as a snowflake; yours was the only one that was a repeat of one from before.
Apparently, yours was a sort of anniversary gift, depicting the first-ever gift Santa Muerte had bestowed upon your family.
Getting up, your mother walked over to your seated form, crouching until you were facing one another. "My child," she sighed, gently cupping the side of your face and sending chills down your spine at the coldness that followed.
As she did this, you couldn't help but peek at the bundle in her arm; a wide pair of eyes stared right back at you, and the spirited baby's mouth pulled up into a gummy smile.
Whenever you saw Arlo's face, you felt your heart clench within your chest. Seeing him made you feel as if you were cheated by a little brother that could have been with you at this very moment, a little brother that would sleep in your arms as you sang the songs your mother sang to you as a child, but you couldn't because he wasn't truly here.
Sending Arlo a smile back, you look up into the face of your mother. "I love you, Mamá." As you spoke, the bottom of your lip trembled, your eyes misting with unshed tears. "I love you, Arlo. Goodnight."
Your mother sent a smile of your own back. "Goodnight, my child." And with that, she dispersed back to the other side with your brother in hand.
Standing up, you wiped away your tears and went to bed, preparing yourself for a new day.
Tumblr media
Okay, let me just start off and say, I AM SO SORRY! I've been stuck so hard on writer's block and thought of lowkey scraping the whole book, but instead of doing that, I just went to write on other books, and it helped me get motivated. So once again, sorry for making you all wait for so long!
Also, I know that the chapter isn't so action-packed, but I just wanted to tie up loose ends once again. Yeah, sorry about killing off the mama and great-grandma. And your 'could have been' little brother, but oh well, I love the angst.
See you all at the next update!

—Empanada | Camilo x fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
request. [Anon] Hii, I’m here for a request :3 Can you write a fluff one-shot Camilo x fem reader where Camilo present the reader to the whole family and theirs reactions? Bye have a nice day!!
Tumblr media
Warnings. Ooc Madrigal family, Camilo is ooc(?), Agustin didn't get screen time, suggestive content(just camilo suggesting to call him papi), Fluff, cliché ending.
Notes. Hello Anon!! Thank you sm for the request! Sorry it took so long I got kind of busy with tests but here it is! I hope you have a nice day too:DD!!
Tumblr media
Camilo never found the time to introduce you to his family, Felix and Pepa's Anniversary celebration came around and it seems (un)luck settles with him.
Tumblr media
"Mami, Papi, this is (name), my partner" Camilo your lover introduced as you waved awkwardly towards the two adults.
Today, encanto was celebrating an event which you had no clue what was it about, although looking at the matching colours of the theme and the outfit the couple in front of you were wearing, you assumed it was their anniversary.
According to Camilo, you haven't met anyone from your partners side, well except for Antonio who practically acted as your son during your relationship, Camilo was a little jealous at first because your attention would go to his little brother more if he was in the same room as him, but the more it happens the more he thinks your an amazing example of a wife.
The duo in front of you seemed to be enthusiastic and lovable. I guess you know know where Camilo gets those from.
"I hope my son treats you right" the redhead–Pepa which she introduced as–told you honestly as she took your palms in her hands, a small smile on her face.
Her husband, Felix, was by her side sincerely nodding along with an arm on her waist, it was a sweet relationship, like the both of yours, your just more...introverted.
"He does" you started and starred happily at the both of them, your lips twitching upward unconsciously "you have a great son Mrs. Madrigal"
Suddenly, a call of a pair of names alerted the duo of their need of appearance, giving the both of you a smile "no need for honorifics, call me Tia if you would like so"
"Call me papa too!" Felix butted in as Camilo playfully scoffed at this "pa! (Name) probably doesn't want to-"
"Thank you so much Tia and papa, happy anniversary too" you told the both of them, Camilo looking at you dumbfoundedly as the couple in front of looked at you proudly.
"The pleasure is all ours"
"That ended well" you told the curly head beside you, a smile plastered on your features, Camilo on the other hand playfully pouted at you.
Crossing his arms at you "it didn't! How am I gonna live with you calling my father 'papa'?!" You laughed at him, patting his shoulder apologisingly "don't worry, I'm not, let a man have their fun"
"You should call me papi" Camilo smirked at you, while you looked at him bored out of your mind "I would rather not"
Not long after the conversation, a voice interrupted the both of you, directing your attention towards the crowd
"(name)!" A familiar voice shouted from the distance, you grinned at it and kneeled down, readying yourself for a force of impact.
"Tonito'! Hello!" You greeted and hugged the boy, the curly head giggling back at you while you squeezed him tightly before carrying him on your arm.
"How is my buddy going?" You grinned at him while he answered your question with the things he had done with Mirabel, which you pressumed who you will meet next.
Speaking of the devil, a curly head emerged from the crowd, panicking as her hair seems to be dishevelled, however, she seemed to perked up at Antonio's voice not too far from where she is standing, directing her attention to you and the boy happily chatting in your arms.
"Antonio, there you are, I was looking for you" she sighed in relief and Antonio looked clueless but shrugged her statement off.
He pointed at you with a smile on his face "I'm with (name)! By the way, (name) this is Mirabel, Mirabel this is (name)" he introduced the both of you, if you're asking where Camilo might be he is sitting on the floor, bored that you have just been introducing yourself to his family the whole day.
It's his fault that you just met them today.
"Pleasure to meet you" you grinned and placed Antonio down, shaking hands with the female madrigal, she complied and shook hands with you.
"Your Camilo's partner right? You know you should have someone better" she whispered at you jokingly, Camilo whining just below the two of you as Mirabel giggled at him.
"Please, he's the only one available" you joked back, the boy below you shooting you an offended expression, exaggerating it with a hand on his hand.
The both of you laughed at his expression while you calmly told him that your joking, Antonio, who now wanted nothing to do in the conversation, tugged Mirabels hand and waved a goodbye to you, wanting to join into the dancing in the center.
"We should go get food" you muttered to Camilo while sticking your hand out to him, helping him up to stand, he happily obliged, finally happy to spend time with you rather than listening to introductions.
"I heard Tia made some Empanada's!" The boy beside you excitedly told you as he unconsciously held your hand, dragging you along the food stall.
"I never tasted Tia's Empanada's before" you replied, now looking for the tray that stored the Empanada's.
Camilo frowned when he couldn't look for the food he excitedly wanted to taste, unfortunately for the both of you, the food seems to be out of stock, which made the both of you eat arepas instead.
"Arepas taste better anyway" you tempted to enlighten the situation as you realized how bummed out your partner was when the Empanada's were out.
Camilo pouted at you, but lightheartedly chuckled at your attempt at making him smile, although it was a bummer the both of you weren't able to munch on the Empanada's.
"Huh? (name)? Didn't know you were here" A once again familiar voice spoke to you, well you assumed spoke to you as the two of you looked upwards.
Camilo grumbled and visibly pouted at how somebody disturbed your quality time together, not to mention how another introduction will happen right infront of him.
"Luisa! Hey, how are you?" You smiled and fist bumped the taller female infront of you, the curly haired boy frowning in confusion at the interaction.
"I'm doing great! I also followed your advice! It's really fun to see a dandelion grow" Luisa Charmed in, the both of your now engaging in a deep conversation of who knows what.
Camilo on the other hand looked stunned, since when did the two of you meet? And a dandelion? Advice? Dude, how long is this friendship been going? How come he wasn't aware about it?
His thoughts were abruptly cut off by another voice pitching in the conversation.
"Isa! How are you doing today?" You greeted and hugged her back, Isabela smiling up at you, until her gaze landed on a lost child right beside you.
"Oh! This is my partner I was talking about" you introduced as Isabela frowned, Luisa congratulating the both of you of having a healthy relationship.
"You have horrible taste" Isabela calmly stated, although you couldn't identify who she was talking to as she faced the arepas in the counter.
"What-" "I'm not talking to you"
Camilo shut his mouth after he got cutted off, Ouch, what's up with Camilo Hate all of a sudden, You snickered at that while your lover shooted you a glare.
"Anyways, (name) you should teach me how to do flower crowns! I heard you know how to" Isabela excitedly told you, although you assumed she doesn't mean right now as people seems to be calling her.
"Sure, Whenever your free" you grinned while she happily nodded, before waving a goodbye, it was a short conversation but hey, it was an interaction.
Luisa on the other hand, was also needed for something, the piano you pressumed as she also waved a goodbye while running towards a direction to who knows what.
"I got fresh Empanada's" Julieta called out when she noticed the two of you near the food Bruno tagging along with a few rats with him, you grinned while Camilo's eyes sparkled with excitement, grabbing two Empanada's on the tray.
"Sorry I got it late, Agustin got chased by bees" she sighed at her husbands clumsiness, you waved her off, also grabbing an empanada on the tray.
"It's fine Tia, as long as Tio is okay" you smiled up at her.
"Aww sometimes I think your too nice for our Camilo"
Camilo could feel his heart shatter, I guess today really is hate on Camilo day, are you really out of his league? He thought he's the only one who thinks that.
"By the way, this is Bruno, I believe you haven't met him" Julieta Introduced as you nodded along lifting a hand up towards the boy.
"Hello, I'm (name) Camilo's partner" Bruno sort of looked stunned but softly smiled and shook you hand "I'm Bruno, but you probably already know that"
You smiled as your attention suddenly went to his rats, who were hiding in his ruana, Bruno realized this and hid them more, thinking you didn't want to see them "sorry- they are my friends, they always-" and was cut of by you.
"You should introduce me to them sometime, I would love to meet them" you grinned as Bruno starred at you at utter disbelief, his attention suddenly went to Camilo, who looked dumbstruck at what Julieta said earlier, but still listening in the conversation.
"Camilo, take care of them, she's a keeper"
"Oh my, its nice to finally meet you" a soft spoken voice slightly, caught your attention if it wasn't for Julieta looking further behind you, cutting off the telepathic conversation Camilo and Bruno were having
"Wait sorry, are we disturbing something here or?" Mariano, Dolores's partner apologised while Julieta politely shook her head.
"No, I'm afraid your not" she smiled before adding, holding both of yours and Camilo's shoulder by each hand "well, we'llleave the four of you to it, I have to find Agustin before he gets stings again"
"And I have to find Roberto too" Bruno added to Julieta's statement as you nodded in understanding.
The four of you bid your goodbyes, you mentally thinking why every encounter you engage on another one, however, you do not decide the plot of this story.
Once Julieta and Bruno took their leave, Dolores excitedly held both of your hands, she probably wanted to see you for so long but your paths couldn't cross with the things the both of you had to do.
"Hi, I'm Dolores, Camilo's sister and I want you to know that Camilo once peed thinking that you will reject him" she introduced, calmly stating an embarrassing moment like it didn't affect the person involved which by the way was now trying to prohibit his sister to tell more.
"Okay okay, I won't tell her more, But I want you to know is that my dear brother loves you dearly and would die to save you, me and Mariano have been trying to get the both of you together when we saw you play with the children with him"
Completely ignoring her word, Dolores continued embarrassing her brother more, but fortunately for Camilo, its hiss first time the whole day to hear someone say the both of you are meant to be together, like two peas in a pod.
Although the sweet moment didn't last long as abuela also approached the four of you, ah yes the final boss, it may not seem to be for others as abuela stopped being into 'perfection' after the fall of Casita, but to Camilo, getting Abuela's blessing is like winning the lottery.
"Dolores, if you may" She slightly told her, The girl beside you, nodding away and headed to the dance floor with Mariano, the both of them swaying to the music with smiles on her face, of course not before telling you to meet up with her right after.
You looked at Abuela a soft smile on your face, yes your partner may told his issues to you about her abuela before but then again, you understood her perspective but you don't encourage it either.
She softly smiled towards you to, then to Camilo "I'm happy for you Camilo" gently, she took her hand in hers, your partner stunned at what the older female said.
"Please take care of him as I couldn't do so" she softly told you, your eyes slightly blurred on you, it wasn't emotional oh dear no—you just know the history of those words that made it emotional.
You removed your hands from her hold, taking her own and smiled to her, Camilo on the sidelines looking at the both of you, still slightly stunned but very happy, more likely very happy at the next words you spoke.
"I will, always"

Isabela madrigal x fem clingy shy reader
You can wanted to be near her all the time but you felt shy and didn’t want to bother her with extra clinginess
What you don’t realize is that she adores having you close and clingy you can get
Holding hands was one of her favorite things to do with you beside cuddling
During meals she’ll hold your hand from underneath the table and always sits next to you
When she sees you walking alone she jumps on you and clings to your arm
Adores kissing your face and seeing how fast you melt into her touch
Cuddles whenever you both are hanging out in her room
"I don’t want to bother you wi-"
"Amor don’t be silly I like having you this close"
Some days you just lay your head on her lap while she reads
You run your hands through her hair when she’s sleeping and she leans into your touch
It makes you soft every single time without fail

Juanito Madrigal✨🧡
The "Copy Cat". He will have the gift of copying others' gifts temporarily in times of need.
Tumblr media
Juanito almost looks like a replica of his papa, but he behaves oppositely to Camilo. He's the little angel. He's a soft little boy, very sweet, very timid and humble, and he's so attached to his mami. He's never mischievous like his dad and his older siblings. That's how he is, even while he is growing up.
Funfact:
His mami calls him gatito sometimes
He's afraid of scissors
He randomly stares at his papa for long periods and loves watching him perform.
He loves copying his brother Carlos' power just to turn himself into a cat. (In the future)

Not enough (Bruno x Reader)
Tumblr media
For @tolkien-fantasy hope you like it
__________________
You sighed and tried to block the pain from your mind as you let Casita help you to the nearest chair. You were sick of this, of not being able to do things by yourself and having to depend not only on your family, but on the house itself. It's not that you weren't grateful, but each day you felt more like a burden than a person.
"Thank you Casita" you whispered
You didn't even pay attention to the little tile that waved in greeting, you were too busy gently rubbing your hands and trying to hold back the angry tears that stung in your eyes.
You really missed the time when you could do more things, when you could run, jump, cook, play with your nieces and nephew, when simply moving from one chair to another was not an almost impossible herculean task for you. A time that seemed so far away now.
It started just three years after your wedding. You and Bruno were at your best, just enjoying each other's company, being goofy and happy, you had even made plans to make your family bigger (even if he turned red as soon as you mentioned it), it was all so perfect. Until the first blackout.
It had happened out of nowhere, one moment you were buying books with Pepa and the next everything had suddenly gone dark. By the time you woke up, you were already at home, in your bed, with the whole family looking at you with concern while Julieta tried to bring down your fever. Your sister-in-law didn't know what caused it, and despite what she might say, the soft smiles she gave you and how much she cared for you, you knew that a part of her had never stopped feeling guilty, because no matter how much magical food she gave you, you never healed.
Things had only gotten worse for you since that day, blackouts occurring more and more frequently, your joints and muscles getting weaker, condemning you to a life of constant pain. At first, you didn't want to say anything, you didn't want to worry Bruno or give Julieta more work, but when Pepa had to carry you back in her arms because your legs couldn't bear your weight anymore, you had to admit that something was wrong with you.
Your husband hardly ever left your side since then, saying that he didn't help the town much anyway. Alma accepted it, too worried that something could happen to the person she saw as another child, Julieta scolded you for not going to her every time something hurt and Pepa had made it her mission not to lose sight of you in the strange times when her brother was not with you.
"You can't leave me alone with those two, Y/N" she had told you "I'd go crazy"
"You already are" you teased softly
She smiled at you, but you could see in her eyes the same fear that invaded them all. They never told you anything, but you knew that Bruno had tried to look into your future to find out how he could help you or what would happen to you, when would you get better? But he never shared that vision, and deep inside you knew the answer: you never would.
It was hard at first, but you were strong for him, because you knew that the only person more terrified than you was your husband. He was afraid of losing you, of not being able to do anything for you, and even though you felt the same fear of leaving him, you decided that you couldn't let that paralyze you, that regardless of whether you had much or little time left, you were going to enjoy it with your family.
Your nieces and nephew were quick to get used to your situation. Isabela tried to act as if she could take care of you by herself, she would spend afternoons with you after school and she would fill your hair with beautiful flowers to cheer you up when you felt bad. Often she and Camilo competed over who could make you smile the most.
Luisa was extremely careful with you. She had just gotten her gift just two years before and she was terrified of hurting you with her strength, so she was content to just talk to you from the door. Mirabel, your precious butterfly, was the one who kept you the most company.
The girl was a miracle, you had told Julieta, who lit up the whole room with her mere presence. It didn't matter if Pepa or Bruno were keeping you company, Mirabel was always, always by your side, telling you how her day had gone, what things she had found, showing you her drawings and simply making you feel warmer every time she smiled at you.
However, everyone knew that it was Dolores who took care of you the most. The girl was silent, but her gift had turned out to be the most useful in helping you. She was always aware of you, your heart rate, your breathing, everything. If you started to get agitated, the girl immediately warned any adult who was nearby, she was like your little personal sentinel, always watching over you even if she wasn't around.
So you weren't surprised when Bruno rushed into the kitchen, almost tripping over his own feet. You smiled lovingly at him when he dropped in front of you with concern etched on his face. You were pleasantly surprised how after so many years, he was still incredibly handsome in your eyes and how he could look at you with such love and adoration, as if he hadn't spent the last few years practically having to shadow you.
"What happened?" he asked worried
"Nothing" you smiled "I just got a little dizzy, but I'm fine, Casita helped me"
He smiled back gently, stroking the back of your hand with his thumb, his touch as light as a feather. That was another thing he knew you hated: that nowadays your conversations were just to say who had helped you. There were no longer funny stories, innocent gossip or funny anecdotes, your life was slowly ending between the same walls.
"Amor..." you whispered
"Yes?"
"...please"
Your husband's expression changed to one of intense pain. It wasn't the first time you had this conversation, that you begged him to tell you what he had seen in that vision. You weren't stupid, you knew there was no cure, otherwise Julieta's food would have already worked, you didn't want to know how it would happen, if it would be painful or if you would go off quietly between dreams. All you wanted to know was how much time you had.
"Y/N -" he started
"I need to know, Bruno" you interrupted him "I don't even know if I'll make it to next Christmas"
It was a depressing thought, because it was September, and if it weren't for the intense pain you felt all the time and that had gotten worse in recent weeks, you wouldn't be making such a suggestion knowing that Dolores was listening to you. But you felt that now was not the time to be careful.
"Mi vida-"
"Please" you begged "...just tell me, how much time do I have?"
Bruno looked at you with an intense mix of fear, pain, and regret, but with a flash of love, love so deep you could almost feel it in your very bones. He sighed and took your hands gently. His grip was shaky and you knew, even before the words left his mouth, that his response was causing him great pain.
"Not enough"

The Casa Madrigal was alive with joy and excitement as the youngest member of the family, Camilo, received his gift from Casita.
"I'm so proud of you, mi pequeñito," Pepa exclaimed, showering her son with kisses and tears as a small rain cloud formed over her head.
"Mamá," Camilo whined, his face flushing with embarrassment.
Unable to let go of her son, Pepa continued to smother him with affection until Camilo turned to his father for help.
"Pápa," he pouted, reaching out towards Félix for rescue.
Chuckling, Félix walked over and effortlessly lifted Camilo from Pepa's tight grip with one hand. "That's enough, mi vida. Give the boy some space," he smiled, placing Camilo back on the ground to run off and play.
Pepa's eyes welled up with tears, "If I let him go, he'll grow up and leave me," she cried, her thundercloud releasing a small boom before showering her in rainwater.
"Shoo, shoo." Félix gently coaxed the clouds away, "It's okay to feel sad, Pepa. Camilo is growing up, but that's a natural part of life."
Pepa buried her head in her husband's shoulder, pulling at the ends of her hair in frustration. "I know, but it's hard to let go."
"Take your time, mi vida. You'll feel better soon," Félix reassured her.
"I know," Pepa sighed before her eyes sparkled with a mischievous idea. "Do you want to have another child!?"
Félix was taken aback, his eyes widening comically as he choked on his own breath. Before he could respond, a tall, dark-skinned man burst into Casita with a look of worry etched on his face.
"What's wrong, José?" a blonde woman asked, stepping towards the anxious man.
"There are people coming down the trail! Someone has entered Encanto!" José exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency.
The news sparked a wave of panic throughout the house.
"It's not possible! No one can enter!"
"Do you think he made a mistake?"
"What if they're the bad people!?"
"It can't be. We haven't seen any sign of them in over forty years." A voice boomed over the commotion, silencing the crowd. "Enough!" All eyes turned to the head of the Madrigal family, Alma Madrigal, as she made her way down the steps with a commanding presence.
Alma approached José with determination, her every step exuding purpose. "Is what you said true, José?" she demanded, her tone conveying the seriousness of the situation.
"Yes, Doña Alma," he replied, his own face etched with concern.
Without hesitation, Alma called out for her third eldest grandchild. "Dolores, please come here. We need your assistance."
With footsteps as quiet as a mouse, Dolores Madrigal deftly weaved through the crowd to stand before her. Dolores needed no explanation as she tilted her head to the side, humming softly before relaying her findings. "There are four people traveling here in an old wagon pulled by a donkey. Three of them are adults, while one is a child. I believe the child is sick by the sound of coughs and snivels I'm hearing, and that one of the three adults is elderly by the sound of joints popping."
Alma thanked Dolores with a smile before turning to her eldest child and daughter, Julieta. "Julieta, please have food on standby and ensure that the guest rooms are in order."
Julieta immediately nodded and set about making the necessary preparations, but there were some in the room who were shocked by Alma's decision. "Doña Alma, you can't be serious! You're allowing strangers to come, even going as far as to offer them hospitality in Casita?" One person spoke up from the crowd, their voice filled with disbelief.
But Alma only smiled serenely in response. "Of course I am," she stated firmly, making her way toward the door. "Only one person in the outside world would know the way into Encanto." As she opened the door, the sound of a creamy wagon stopped outside the house, drawing everyone's attention.
Some of the onlookers peered curiously around Alma to get a glimpse of who had arrived. They saw a middle-aged man assisting an elderly woman out of the wagon.
"Abuela Francisca!" Alma exclaimed upon recognizing the elderly woman, who playfully smacked the man on the arm.
Francisca turned around, her face lighting up upon seeing Alma. "Alma, my little mija," she greeted warmly.
The two women met halfway, embracing each other with happy chuckles and tears of joy.
Alma's eyes widened in surprise as she met the young couple's gaze. "And who might these young ones be?"
Francisca limped over to the couple, beaming with pride. "This is my granddaughter-in-law, Jovena," she introduced, pointing a wrinkled finger at the woman. She then shifted her finger towards the man, "and my grandson, Miguel."
Alma's expression softened with fondness at the mention of Miguel's name. "Miguel?" she said with a hint of disbelief. "Do you mean he's...?"
Francisca nodded, confirming Alma's suspicion. "Yes, he's Alejandra's little boy."
Alma's heart swelled with emotion at the thought of seeing her best friend's son after so many years. She walked over to Miguel, smiling at him. "Hello, Miguel. I'm Alma. I was your mother's best friend."
Miguel's face turned stiff as he forced a smile. "I know. My abuelita has told me a lot about you," he replied, clearly holding back his emotions.
Alma could sense that something was amiss and her smile faltered slightly.
Francisca noticed Alma's expression and quickly interjected, "As much as I would love to spend time catching up, mija, we have urgent business to attend to."
Alma nodded in agreement, understanding the need for urgency. "Of course. Please bring the child inside. We've already prepared a room for her."
The couple's faces filled with shock at her words. "How did you knowㅡ"
"Ah, I see Casita has blessed your family with many more gifts," Francisca said, cutting off Jovena's question as she walked into the house. "Miguel, go get my bisnieta. The quicker she gets help, the better she'll be. I'll meet you in the room."
Nodding, Miguel went to get his daughter.
When he arrived with the still feverish 5-year-old, nearly everyone was standing outside Casita to get a peek at the strangers.
Miguel pressed his lips into a firm line, sheltering his daughter closer to his chest.
Seeing his discomfort, Alma turned towards the house, shaking her head at the many eyes staring back at her. "I'm sorry everyone, but tonight's celebration will be cut short. If you'll please, Casita, help our guests see their way out."
The house shutters gave two flaps as if saying, 'You got it' before moving the stone underneath the crowd's feet, like a treadmill, straight out towards the outskirts of the house.
Miguel and Jovena were in awe as they followed, but as they stepped forward to enter the house, Casita's doors seemingly slammed shut before opening quickly, its windows jingling as if singing a happy tune.
Miguel's brow rose at this, "Does the house always do this?"
Alma looked around at Casita's shutters, shingles, and even furniture moving about as if she were singing a song without a rhythm. "Uh, not usually," she spoke in embarrassment as the floors made flower patterns around the couple.
As the couple got ready to trek up the steps, Casita took it upon herself to turn it into an escalade the moment they stepped on.
The house's hospitality didn't stop there; once they were up the steps, Casita dropped them off directly at the room and opened the door for them.
As Jovena stepped through the door, Miguel turned around, his face still stuck in a mixture of amazement and confusion. "Um, thanks, Casita?"
The house gave one more round of noise at this, seemingly puffing up with pride.
"Jovena," Alejandra called out as Jovena was about to close the door.
"Yes, abuela?" Jovena turned to face her.
"Come, come. I want you to meet Alma's second child, Pepa. She's around your age," the old lady said, waving over toward an auburn-haired woman in a colorful sundress.
Jovena took a step forward, but Miguel shooed her away, mouthing, "Go have fun," before leaving the room.
After Jovena scurried off to converse with one of the Madrigals, Miguel fully stepped into the room and took in the decorations. Bright colors lit up the space, and funny characters were drawn all around. On the bed, several hand-stitched toys sat next to the pillows, perfect for his daughter's age.
Alma noticed his observations and spoke up as she shifted the blankets to make space for the child. "My son, Bruno, saw your arrival a few weeks ago. I made sure a room was prepared for your daughter."
Thanking her, Miguel sat the child down on the bed. "Is that so? Then why was everyone so surprised?"
"When Bruno approached me with his vision, I ensured that it was kept confidential, shared only amongst between my three children and me. I did not wish for it to become a big issue, especially since you were all arriving for something other than a celebration."
Nodding his head at her answer, Miguel bent down to tuck his daughter in. As he leaned over to adjust the edge of her blanket, a soft voice caught his attention.
"Pápa..." The little girl's voice was weak and strained.
Miguel turned to face his daughter and knelt beside her bed, gently brushing her hair from her face. "What is it, my muñequita?" he asked, his heart aching at the sight of the bags under her eyes; she was far too young to experience it.
"Pápa, it hurts..." she whined, tears streaming down her cheeks. "My chest hurts."
Miguel's heart sank as he saw the pain in his daughter's eyes. "Shh, mi amor," he whispered, wiping away her tears with his thumb. "You'll feel better soon, I promise."
Alma watched the scene unfold, her heart heavy with sadness at the sight of the little girl in pain.
Just in time, Julieta arrived with a tray holding a small cup of soup. "I'm here~" she sang softly, "I've been stuck for the past ten minutes deciding what I should make, but ultimately decided to cook up a portion of chicken noodle soup."
Miguel raised an eyebrow at the small portion. "Is that all you're going to give her?"
"Yes, she won't need much," Julieta replied, gently setting the tray in front of the child.
"You see, Julieta's gift is being able to heal with her cooking. Whenever someone is hurt or sick, all it takes is one bite for them to instantly feel better," Alma explained, seeing the incredulous look on the male's face.
Though he wanted to protest, Miguel knew the earful he'd get from his grandmother, so he stepped back, allowing her to feed his daughter the soup.
The small child ate with ravenous hunger because, for the first time in forever, she didn't immediately throw it back up.
The little girl shook her head. "My chest still hurts."
Miguel mumbled a few curses under his breath. "I knew it! Abuelita talked me into coming all this way for something that didn't even work." He stormed out of the room to find his wife and grandmother, leaving the two eldest Madrigals in the room alone with the child.
Julieta's brows furrowed in worry as she looked back at her mother. She hoped to communicate, 'I don't know why it didn't work! It usually works.' Her mother replied with a nod that said, 'I understand, mija. Don't stress yourself. There's nothing wrong with your gift, but there is something wrong with the child.'
The little girl just stared up at them, waiting for someone to say anything. When all the two women did was look at each other, she let out a small cough. "Though my chest still hurts, can I still get some more soup? My face doesn't feel hot anymore."
Julieta's eyes lit up. The child was just like her. Just as Juliet could heal others, her healing didn't work too well on herself. For instance, if she were to cut herself while cooking and eat something to heal it, instead of healing right up as it would do for anyone else, it would take a bit longer. A scab would form in the next hour, and it would completely heal up by the end of the second day. "Of course, darling, I'll go get the soup," she hummed before rushing out of the room, making sure to drag her mother behind her.
Five minutes passed, and the child continued to sit, waiting for her food.
At the sound of the door creaking open, she sat up, anticipating the arrival of the woman with her meal. But to her surprise, it was a little boy wearing a yellow ruana over a white, long-sleeved shirt, paired with black pants.
The boy was small, with a wild head of dark auburn hair that curled in several directions. As he peeked around the door, the little girl caught a glimpse of his green eyes, which sparkled with mischief.
"What are you doing?" The girl asked before coughing into her elbow.
The boy's green eyes narrowed at her, and his lips pulled down into a frown. "It's because of you!" he suddenly exclaimed, racing towards the end of the girl's bed.
"Huh?"
"You stole the attention from me! Today was supposed to be about me getting my awesome gift, and now everyone's talking about a sick little girl."
The girl frowned back at him. "I'm not little," she sniffed, "I'm five."
"So am I."
"Then how can you call me little if we're the same age?"
The boy blushed when he realized she was right. "B-Because you're shorter than me, so that makes you little!"
"How would you know? I'm lying in bed," the girl replied, giving him a skeptical look.
"I just do, okay!"
"Okay, then."
The boy narrowed his eyes at her. "You don't sound like you believe me."
"Because I don't," she replied, "My mamá told me to always agree if you think someone will try to prolong a stupid argument."
"Pro-long. What does that mean?"
"I don't know, but if my mamá said it, it must be a smart word."
"Whatever. Your mamá is wrong, because I know for a fact I'm taller than you," he said, puffing out his chest.
The girl bristled at his words. "How would youㅡ" Her sentence was cut off with a gasp as the little boy suddenly transformed into a man as tall as the door.
"See, I'm tall," the man replied, sending the girl a smirk.
"How did you do that?" the girl wondered, her eyes glittering with excitement as the man turned back into a boy.
"It's my gift," he said with a bright smile. "I can change into whoever I want."
Clapping her hands, the girl wiggled in her bed. "Oh, do me, do me!"
"Alright, calm down," the boy said, walking closer to her. "Let me see what you look like." And with that, he leaned in close to the girl's face.
He was so close that she could see the freckles scattered across his nose and cheeks, and how his hazel-green eyes held a few golden specks.
After a few more seconds of examining her face, the boy stood back, and in the blink of an eye, there stood the girl.
"Woah," she breathed in awe, watching as her own face showed the same expression.
Holding her hand up, her mirror image did the same until their hands were touching.
"So cool," she breathed out.
The boy shifted back, a proud smirk on his lips. "As it should be. I'm the Amazing Camilo! No one could ever top my powers."
Just as he finished his little introduction, a shout rang through the house. "Camilo Madrigal! Where are you!? It's past your bedtime, young man!"
The boy'sㅡCamilo's face grew one of panic. As the shouts grew nearer, he lost control and shifted into multiple people at once, resulting in funny combinations that the little girl couldn't help but giggle at.
Camilo's shifting stopped abruptly, and he gazed at her with a grin.
Suddenly, the floorboards beneath his feet began to shake, slowly carrying him toward the door.
"Casita, I don't want to go to bed," he whined, plopping down onto the floor. Still, the house continued to move him, despite his pleas.
As Camilo's body was about to leave the room, he grabbed hold of the door frame. "Hey, what's your name?"
The girl, still chuckling at his antics, finally told him, "It's Y/N" and with that, he was gone.
Shifting back onto the pillow as silence encased you, you could only yawn.
Just before getting there, you felt sick to the bone, unable to move.
All the times your parents and bisabuela called your name, you wanted to respond, but couldn't. But now, after eating the tasty soup, you have enough energy to talk.
Hopefully, you'll get better soon.

Tumblr media
Warnings. Fluff, pretty couple, camilo is ooc(?), cringy ending(?)
Notes. Hello there anon!! Thank you so much for requesting:D does this show off how camilo is a big simp-i tried to make it very realistic yet still loveable! I hope this suits your taste<33
Tumblr media
Despite Being a couple for almost a year, Camilo acts as if your still in your courting phase, more so, Camilo being a big simp for you.
Tumblr media
You are pretty.
Very pretty heck beautiful even, What did Camilo ever do to deserve such beauty? Did he save a whole darn country in his past life that made the people above him meet you? Yet alone, be in a relationship with you?
The both of you aren't even fresh in the relationship, you have been dating for months! Almost a year too! And yet Camilo feels like he just fell in love all over again.
You found it adorable how your loving partner would admire you and tell you those catchy yet cringy pick-up lines like the two of you are in your courting phase.
The small glances and loving smiles while doing your chores encourages not only you but also Camilo in doing your best the whole day, despite doing everything in the best you can.
It was bright and sunny in encanto, another day has past with a lot of chores to do. You had been helping your tia Julieta with feeding the people with minor and major injuries.
The worst one being fallen down by a tree as the town is renovating its area. Although despite the injuries being less and less frequent it doesn't mean the arepas Julieta had readied will never run out.
"(Name)? could you please get the batch of arepas in the shelves? Their under the stove"
Julieta caught your attention by holding a gentle hand on your shoulder, careful to not startle you as you were tending an injured animal.
You hummed and looked at her, a smile reached your features as you nodded, softly patting the squirrel at the table to notify that he is fully healed.
"Sure Tia, anything to help" you grinned and made your way to the madrigal abode.
Before abruptly stopping as Julieta also asked you to bring the other arepas for an afternoon snack, which was also under the 'magical' arepas by the stove.
You skidded along the tiles of the home, as the house's opened window moved along, waving to you as a welcome.
"Hello there Casita" you waved back and thanked the House as it opened the door for you.
You noticed how the tiles and paint seems to be newly polished, feathering your touch towards it "your looking very beautiful today Casita"
Casita responded by moving the tiles along your feet, you giggled at that and ventured your way towards the kitchen.
Of course not forgetting to wave at Mirabel, who were a few tiles away from the door, talking to your lover as she smiled back at you and continued her chattering.
Camilo not missing the gesture.
As you entered the kitchen, the smell of freshly baked goods filled your nostrils, you made your way towards the stove Julieta uses to cook.
And grabbed the tray of arepas on it, all freshly stacked on the tray.
You placed it on the table and moved to get the other tray not until voice stopped you from doing so.
"Why didn't my angel greet me today"
You could hear the pout at his tone alone and you looked at him confused "aren't you talking with Mirabel earlier? It seemed important"
The boy hummed and took a bite of the arepas on your tray feeding himself the food "it wasn't, she's just telling me where the paint are and the colors I should use to repaint some parts at casita"
"Milo'! That is important" you playfully scolded him with a nudge, the boy smirking at you and wrapped his arms around your figure.
"Not as important as you" He pecked your cheek and shrugged his arms out of you.
"Two out of ten" You scored and Camilo whined at it, until being cut off by Casita playfully hitting his legs.
While Camilo was suffering in the corner, you took this chance and took the tray of arepas and placed it above the tray your holding, thinking this is the best way to get two things done at the same time.
"I'll be going now Milo' ill see you later" you pecked him on the cheek and headed for the door, stopping when Camilo held your shoulder.
He grabbed the two tray and walked beside you, a loving smile on his features as you mirrored his own "I'll be carrying that for you señorita"
You shook your head and took the upper tray "nope! I'm carrying at least one" Camilo raised his brows but let you be.
"Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?" You laughed, oh how much Camilo loved your laugh, is like music to his ears.
"Yes! Like I don't know, since this morning?" You looked at him, your lips twitched upwards to only see him looking at you already.
"Well I gotta remind you every second" He answered, eyes staring at you lovingly, while you lead the way helping him to not hit anything while walking.
"Very sweet Cami'" you told him and looked at him, examining his features, from his freckles to his emerald eyes "pretty boy..." you muttered as Camilo looked at you curiously.
"What?" He asked, he unfortunately wasn't able to hear what you said.
You shrugged him off and walked further than him, telling him to moving faster as the two of you have chores to do.
Camilo looked at your brisk walking figure, and smiled softly, you were very pretty in his eyes, and he was very pretty in yours.
A pretty couple, just how he likes it.

Note
So, this my be a bit specific but I have this nasty little habit of making OC’s to pare with my fictional loves and I fell hard for Bruno. So, with insomnia refusing to let me sleep I have come to your ask box with an idea I would like help expanding upon.
Bruno’s sisters and nieces finally convince him to try and have a vision about himself, specifically if he’s going to find a wife. In his vision he does see him with a girl he doesn’t recognize. A few weeks later the girl from his vision wonders into the village lost, hurt, and no idea how to get home. Bruno recognizes her from the vision, but he also finds out she’s half his age(he’s 50 and she’s 25) and she’s only staying till she can find a way home. So he has a limited amount of time with her, also while getting conflicted because she’s half his age.
She’s shy at first but once she warms up to someone she’s super cuddly and loyal. She has a horrible sense of direction, literally can’t tell left from right. She’s also really sweet and was never sacred of Bruno(or his mice), even when people talk about his visions she’s like “So he sees the future? How is that his fault? He doesn’t make the outcome happen, he just sees it.” Even if he was to have a vision where something happened to her, like she got hurt or sick, she wouldn’t blame him and would more likely tell him not to blame himself. She starts to develop a crush on Bruno but she’s kinda awkward and knows it so she keeps it to herself, instead opting to try and spend as much time as she can with him.
If you don’t want to that’s fine, thank you for hearing me out
Two awkward dorks
"Tío! Come on"
"Don’t rush me kid!"
Bruno closed his eyes then took a deep breath, it was now or never. He had been delaying this vision for god knows how long.
It was only because he wasn’t in the mood to get drenched by pepa’s rain when she got all moody about him not listening to her.
His own future wasn’t something he wanted to know or just be aware about, he didn’t want to see something bad…like he always did but as Julieta once said.
"Even if you didn’t find someone Amor, we are always here beside you"
Pieces of the future flashed through the sands, some familiar places he recognized but he needed a face.
Slowly the sand began creating the face of a woman, unfamiliar to him, someone he had not met before.
Then the sand dropped and the glass piece with the image of the smiling woman stared back at him.
"Great….now how am I suppose to find you.." he groaned.
The madrigals were happy to say the least, looking everywhere for a woman even remotely similar to the vision but nothing. They looked for weeks, until one day.
The family was told that an injured woman walked in the town who looked like she was lost.
Mirabel was the first to see you and her heart raced with excitement when she realized you were indeed the girl her tío saw in his vision.
The family offered for you to stay with him till you heal at least, you felt welcomed, a little shaken but safe.
"So…this is a magic house?" You said.
"Yes! And we all live in it, the amazing madrigals!" Said mirabel.
She was the one that introduced you to everyone, you were a little concerned though with how happy Pepa seemed to have you around….as if she was waiting for you for so long.
Bruno kept his distance from you though, it was due to two reasons, he is too socially awkward to start conversation and two you’re literally half his age.
"I knew it was too good to be true" he mumbled to himself.
It doesn’t take you long to warm up to everyone, eventually try to start conversation with Bruno since he seemed so…distend.
Mirabel told you about his gift and how everyone used to think so negative of it, you genuinely felt bad for him.
"He’s not reasonable for the misfits of others future, he’s only a messenger is all"
Bruno would hear the sort of things you say to defend him and how sweet you were when talking about him with others, it surely made his heart beat a little faster.
He was also the kindest to you as well, from showing his rats to helping you around the casita.
You liked his company and your crush was seen a mile away but you couldn’t say it, so instead that’s how you spent your days together.
Doing little things together, laughing and enjoying all the moments you could see his curls bounce cutely around his face.
Yeah you could stay there for a while longer.

Camilo: Please don't tell Isabela.
Y/n: Oh, I'm not going to say a word.
Camilo: You're going to make me tell her, aren't you?
Y/n: Loud and clear. And every nitty-gritty detail.
