So I’ve stumbled across Kayo Kyoku Plus’s post about Maki Ohguro’s 夏が来る (Natsu Ga Kuru) on Blogspot and I totally agree that this song would be perfect as the opening song for some 1990′s drama, especially some romantic comedy with a feisty female protagonist, kind of like Minami from Long Vacation lmao

✨️when u get this u have to put 5 songs u actually listen to, publish. Then, send this ask to 10 of your followers (positivity is cool)🎶✨️
To be honest I haven't really listened to music a lot since my backup earbuds broke, but I've constructed a YouTube playlist of some songs I would definitely have on my music players after I got another pair of earbuds. So, with that, let's shuffle the playlist :D
Prayer of Orb (Ultraman Orb's Full Theme Song) by Ichiro Mizuki and Voyager. This brings back memories because Orb was the first season of Ultraman I watched, a long time ago. For such a cheesy show, you wouldn't expect the music to be so damn good, but it is. Ultraman is made with love for the show, the characters, the animation, the practical effects, and the music.
Ultraman Ginga S's Theme Song, Hero's Song by The Alfee. This also brings back memories because I love Ultraman Ginga and its sequel season, Ginga S. Ginga S was a fun show, very kind and touching to not just the cast of heroes but also some morally gray characters and kaijus as well. Tsuburaya Productions earned the money to give Ultraman Ginga a second season (this almost never happens in tokusatsu shows) from the merchandising the mentor figure from Ginga. They brought back the cast we knew and loved before and gave us more characters to care about. It was great seeing them working towards their dreams :')
I rolled a dupe somehow, so I might have turned off shuffle somehow? Alright! Tried again and got Anything Goes by Maki Ohguro, a song for which I have actually learned the introduction on the trumpet. I haven't played it in so long, but I have lyrics up until the first stanza/chorus memorized. It's the theme song for Kamen Rider OOO, which is about desires, human nature, and capitalism.
Zombies Ate My Pirate Ship by Alestorm. It's a completely serious song written about an annoyance from a fantasy setting, which is right up my alley. It also happens to be a banger.
Bleach Brave Souls Battle Background Music: Quest. It's the generic fighting music that plays behind every singleplayer quest and some multiplayer ones too. Also one of the only songs from that game I recognize from the soundtrack since I don't play with sound on anymore. Hm maybe it's time to get another pair of earbuds

i really love raise insight as an opening. The blend of live footage and animation is something I've always really enjoyed (every time I watch the conan movie credits I always really love it even if I'm more neutral on the song), so I really love it just visually to begin with, but I actually also like the rest of it. The songs good I like what they chose to focus on in it and what they hid within it as well; I think it's a well executed opening. But I gotta say I miss Sparkle as well which initially I didn't know how I felt about, but it really grew on me. I might go out and buy Sparkle if I can find jt I enjoyed it so much. I prolly will also buy Raise Insight too but man Sparkle wasn't on my radar initially as one I might by even tho I loved Maki Ohguro's Lie Lie Lie

Title: SPARKLE
Artist: Maki Ohguro
Episodes: 1049-
Rating:
9/10 scenes
The visuals are really cool. I’m a huge fan of them because they represent the whole plot very well. The song is also good, but not one of my favourites. Still, all in all, this is really good.
Watch it here!

Hey! If you get this, answer with your top 5 music artists and send it to the last 7 people in your notifications 💜
Apologies in advance! This has been sitting in the ask box for a while as I tried to think of how to answer this.
Because on the one hand, there are a handful of artists that I have been listening to on repeat lately (like Stray Kids, Ateez, and recently quite a bit of Monsta X and their individual members' stuff). But on the other hand, there are certain songs that I just keep coming back to over and over again (like stuff from the 2000s by Rider Chips and Tetra-Fang, the latter of which was only really around for like, a year).
And then sometimes, even if I am neutral about an artist, there will be a few songs that I really really like. Other times, I hear a song and very much enjoy it, but just never get around to giving the rest of that artist's discography a listen (which is unfortunate, because when I actually do put that time in, I find that I like b-side tracks better most times).
So I guess it's a bit less about the artist, and more about the... characteristics (for lack of a better word) of the song.
So here are a list of 5 characteristics I tend to like in songs:
When they take one genre, and take another genre, and they mix them together. Bonus points if it's some sort of "classic" genre mixed with a more "modern" genre. (Shout-out to that live performance of Tourbillon's "Break The Chain" with the electric violin.)
When one of the instruments is a music box, but the song is in total is not meant to be a "cutesy" song. (That last bit is important!) I blame this on the music box I had as a kid that played this one piece of classical music in a very enchanting-but-haunting way. (An excellent example of this is "See You Again" by Monsta X. It really adds to the vibes of the song, which I can't describe in words.)
When there's 2 rappers and a singer, and the 2 rappers are rapping alternate lines to build up to a powerful line from the singer. Doesn't even have to be some impressive high note either (as proven by Stray Kids' "Voices"). Bonus points if the audio is designed so that, if you wear headphones, it sounds like you are standing between the 2 rappers.
When they just let the electric guitarist (or better yet, the saxophone guy) take the wheel for a minute. (This applies to one of the Ultraman Ginga songs, "Ginga no Uta" if I recall the name correctly. This also applies to the very end of "Take Me Home" by Ateez. And you know what? This also applies to all the instrumental parts of "Anything Goes" by Maki Ohguro. Actually this might just be a staple in a lot of songs, huh)
...I don't know the word for this last one, so bear with me. You know how lots of angsty songs will have this certain instrument that sounds sort of... echo-y? I like the texture of it. Then again, I like a lot of the instrumental "texture" of those sorts of genres. But this particular sound... it's sort of like one of those instruments at the start of "Numb" by Linkin Park? But also sort of like that one that plays during the start of the verses in Kato Keisuke's "Fight For Justice"? And for some reason I associate that instrument with the Bionicles (but that's a whole other conversation)? I think the only non-angsty example I can currently think of is right before the chorus of "Various and Precious" by the group Billie. I have no idea what this instrument is, and heck, it may even be multiple instruments. But if anyone knows, please help.
