Rabbid Lore Headcanon: Hopefully Close As Possible To Canon With Some Insane Reaches

Rabbids are an enigma, a majority of their lore being unclear or completely insane, very fitting with the lore of their home planet (Glade of Dreams) which is just as difficult to make sense of, their oddities being especially prominent in the environment their franchise has settled into (Earth). As completely random and inconsistent as the lore appears to be, I do think there's a good amount of consistency that can paint a decent picture of what is there to know about rabbids, their history, biology, psychology, sociology, so on and so forth. But that picture varies from person to person, so I'll just be sharing my picture based on what I've seen across all of rabbid media (adverts, games, cartoons, books, and merchandise). A lot of it is going to be speculation since despite all there is to work with, almost none is outright explained or clarified, and I doubt it ever will be. But despite that, I hope to make my headcanon as close to canon as possible, even if some assumptions of rabbid lore were plucked out of thin air. Each topic will be linked to separate posts, this post acting as an introduction and table of contents. As a heads up, this blog will be updated regularly and I may get explicit with descriptions, mind my shaky grammar my 3 rotted braincells are trying their best.

What Are Rabbids?

Rabbids are an advanced race of anthropomorphic rabbit-like creatures with an intense temperament, their screaming, violence, and red eyes being the traits they're especially known for. Their antagonistic schemes on the Glade and Earth are played out as an alien invasion on par with Mars Attacks and Killer Klowns of Outer Space (without the gore that is, the focus most of all being very crude humor and chaos. Though Ubisoft was once close to releasing a mature rabbids game with slasher elements, unfortunately it had been scrapped so there will no longer be Killer Rabbids From Outer Space. Even so, the concept art and teasers published are still spectacular). On the Glade, they were deformed critters who emerged from the earth with no warning, bearing alien-like weaponry intent on taking over the planet. On Earth, they've come from outer space, using similar methods with a very similar goal.

Why Are Rabbids On Earth?

While including Earth seems like a strange move, the Rayman franchise had already established not only the existence of Earth but the fact that Rayman seems to have some ties there as well. How? That's a whole different topic to dig through, but overall, rabbids targeting Earth is not too far-fetched, especially Rayman's involvement in trying to thwart their plots again after having stopped them from taking over the Glade (based on the events of Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Gameboy Advanced). This time, however, Rayman's efforts would be in vain, the rabbids successfully conquering the planet and making it their home. Surprisingly they wouldn't change a thing about the planet, having found the cultures so fascinating that they completely assimilated into them, their culture becoming that of human culture. Instead of taking humanity's place as dominant mammal, they've decided to coexist with them to humanity's dismay. While the human race as a whole was panicked at first by the sudden and violent takeover, they would be just as quick to adjust and eventually perceive rabbids as nothing more than a nuisance, just enough to create a whole new workforce, Rabbid Verminators, introduced in Rabbids Go Home, and the SGAII-RD (the Secret Government Agency for the Investigation of Intruders - Rabbid Division), introduced in the Rabbids Invasion Case Files books. Whether this startlingly quick shift is a result of human nature (getting bored with major events after enough time has passed), human governments being extremely efficient in convincing citizens that they're mere pests that are to be ignored (either from the purposeful spread of propaganda or because their incompetence in handling the invasion was in full display), Rayman having informed said governments how to stop the rabbid's attempt at further domination (based on the ending of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 on the 3Ds), or all three is up to debate.

What Are The Rabbid's Origins?

Despite always being depicted as technologically advanced pests of rage and chaos, they weren't always that way, the earliest descriptions of their origins paint them as the exact opposite of what rabbids are now commonly known for. They used to be the most peaceful creatures of the glade, said to be so kind that other creatures of the Glade would take advantage of that, ridiculing them, bullying them, and borderline torturing them until they were driven insane (based on dialogue from Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Gameboy Advanced). It is believed that they all retreated underground, hiding and plotting throughout the events of Rayman 1 to 3. Only after they would ascend without warning, the Glade feeling the wrath of the rage that had skyrocketed their evolution from simple friendly rabbids, to erratic mutants of war, taking pleasure in the pain and violence that drove them mad to begin with. Beyond this dialogue, there aren't any more details given in regards to what role rabbids played before they snapped, it can be inferred that they were like the dodo birds of the Glade of Dreams, except instead of being driven to extinction from their complete lack of survival instincts and supposedly being quite delicious (the dodos that is), they were driven to complete and utter insanity for the fun of it, one can assume that it was extremely difficult to make a meal out of a rabbid, let alone killing them, that rediculous durability likely playing a part in their docile behavior, what is the use of survival instincts when almost nothing threaten your survuval? Due to their lack of defenses before their inevitable meltdown, their technology was likely not as developed compared to what modern rabbids have at their disposal, perhaps they barely had any tech at all, living as simple wild folk whose daily agendas consisted of sleeping, eating, playing games, dancing, breeding, and repeating to overpopulate regions and solidify their existences as pests.

Say the asteroid never hit. How long do you think it would be until the dinosauria fauna evolved into something different? I want to know so I can be as scientifically accurate as possible with this one novel I'm writing

I mean, I think they would have continuously evolved just like birds did. In fact, birds would have probably evolved somewhat similarly, though with competition from other birdie dinosaurs and some small pterosaurs. There's not a lot of research on exactly how much the asteroid affected in terms of long term damage or alterations to the ecosystem - we know there was an impact winter for a while after the initial worldwide wildfires, but it's unclear whether or not the subsequent dramatic climatic shifts of the Paleocene would have still happened or not. So I think you could use the rough outline of the Cenozoic as it happened in our world as a baseline if you want, since it seems the Asteroid did not cause these climatic changes. It did, however, have a huge affect on plants - forests that were evenly mixed conifers and flowering plants became flowering plant dominated. Eventually, this would lead to the dominance and spread of grasslands. So if no asteroid, there's no Latin America - style rainforests; and there's probably fewer grasslands (though grasses had evolved by the end Cretaceous, so they may have still arose when the climates dried in the Oligocene and Miocene). The ice would have definitely grown over Antarctica in that time, leading to the first glaciation; eventually, the second one over the North Poll would occur, leading to what we know as the Ice Age.

Probably. Again, everything is extremely interconnected, butterfly flapping wings type shit, but the majority of evidence indicates this explanation at this time.

So, you'd need the dinosaur clades that existed in the Maastrichtian - too many to list, but you got titanosaurs, coelurosaurs (inclusive), abelisaurs, ankylosaurs, ceratopsians, and ornithopods aplenty - adapting to:

rapidly warming world (with possible spread of flowering plants, or at least an increase?)

peak warming 10 million years after the not-asteroid (56 mya) and a world covered in tropical forests (with some arid locals as well)

A stable, warm world for a long time in the Eocene

Shift to drying ecosystems at the end of the Eocene with major climatic implications that cause a minor mass extinction at the end of the epoch

the first glaciation and growth of ice over Antarctica and subsequent lowering of sea levels and drying of continents

the subsequent growth and takeover of c4 grasses

the second glaciation & start of the cycle we know as the "ice age"

so...

dinosaurs might have gotten smaller on average, or forests were still very spacious across the world during the PETM, maybe it wasn't nearly as forested because dinosaurs forced them that way - but it did get warm even for mesozoic dinosaurs during that time. It would have had an effect.

dinosaurs then adapting to a drier world and a world with ice in Antarctica - lots of dinosaurs lived in Antarctica in the mesozoic (well, they do today too!), that is a major extinction waiting to happen in that part of the world, possibly worldwide. It probably happened to the mammals that lived there in our timeline.

then dinosaurs reacting to **grass.**

then dinosaurs dealing with the ice age.

So you have to account for that whole timeline and build changes on one another through all of that turmoil.

A huge square field of thousands upon thousands of technological devices in pockets of hyperspace fields that looked like solar panels in perfect rows, side by side, in square and rectangular shapes were being used as a soul capturing and energy capturing technology, 8 hours west of the Macchu Picchu, 5D vortex and Gateway. This field of energy capture directs massive amounts of current and power to the Black Hole technologies (BHT) used all over the globe to instigate destruction. Recently attempts to use black hole technology to weaken North American seaboards was instigated, and stabilized by Guardians. These square-rectangles are artificial tile-e-spheres, similar to embedded tv screens that refract light into images, so this is a refractive light and image capturing technology. While capturing souls, capturing animals, capturing nature, whatever levels of capture, that would mirror an exact replica of the item, person, or animal in a holographic projection into another phantom dimension.

This phantom dimension feedline, influences 7D phantom Arcturian intersections, as well as 7D logos and planetary brain controls. This soul capture creates a probable future timeline of that person or animal here on 3D earth now, as its replica parallel clone is leading it towards its own pathway of destruction, into a phantom dimension of enslavement and eventual consumption by these negatives, in controlled artificial future timelines. This is exactly like understanding the computer technology of a mirror site server. When one wants to have multiple copies or clones of the same website content accessible in many countries, they will create a duplicate of the original site and replicate its projection onto many internet IP addresses, or vector locations in time and space. This soul capture technology was doing exactly that. Whomever is not soul connected, not using their soul, or is an innocent bystander like an animal or mammal, such as the 900+ dolphins recently killed in Peruvian waters, or the 600 Pelicans that sacrificed themselves. A negative form projection of their genetic signature would be captured and projected into the siphoning device, into the phantom field, to simultaneous power and feed the operation of the BHT. This technology was getting upgrades and they were testing it in the field for about 60-90 days, testing it in 5D, 3D and the parallels. The plan was to roll out a big BHT agenda, soul capture extravaganza agenda at the May 1st, Beast-Beltaine ritual and ongoing.

The next generation of this alien technology being developed for use in this timeline was being designed for another purpose. The next generation technology was to splinter the solar plexus, so that the soul body could not connect into the still point areas of the lightbody. This works like a reversal clamp with teeth, inside the solar plexus, into a focal point where the soul and spiritual energy bodies actually embody in the physical biology. There is a point inside the solar plexus that functions with the heart and still point that needs to be open to receive the spiritual frequencies of its own soul body. If they are successful in blocking this solar plexus function, the person will not be spiritually activated in the coming months of 2012, and the soul can be captured and harvested without any resistance or fight from the person or being it actually belongs to. This way their negative form clone is safe and working for them in the parallel dimension, in which the person who has been captured will eventually meet his destiny to merge with that clone in the future lifetime. This would also create potential bodies for takeover to possession, depending on their future anticipated needs.

Additionally these technologies manipulate time and space, and create spin offs of artificial realities and artificial timelines, which in itself create damage in the organic time and space fields. The design of this is called looking glass technology, is a time travel system given to the military complex and is being used by both Grey Aliens and Human Military in this timeline. Since its inorganic technology, when they time travel many times what they see as probable events, are limited to their current mental perception. Many do not know their limited mental perception is not the organic ascension timeline that trumps their artificial technology. Still they do damage in the field, and as a consequence, actions have been taken and are being monitored by Defender Guardian Forces.

Scientist Takeover: Mammals!

What is the largest mammal?

This is an easy one because it is not even close; the blue whale, which is also the largest animal to ever live on Earth, weighs around 100 tons (220,000 pounds) and is about 100 feet long. Females are typically larger than males. Despite their bulk, blue whales are filter feeders subsisting on krill, small crustaceans less than an inch in length.

In 1758, Carl Linnaeus gave the blue whale the Latin name Balaenoptera musculus. The first part, Balaenoptera, the genus name, means winged whale for its long, slender flippers; the second part, the species name, is thought to be a joke by Linnaeus because it is also the species name he gave to the house mouse, Mus musculus.

Here is the left mandible (lower jaw) of a blue whale on the second floor in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Notice that it dwarfs the adult polar bear behind it.

What is the smallest mammal?

This is harder than the largest one—the blue whale—because there are two mammals considered to be very close in weight: the Etruscan shrew with a Mediterranean and Asian distribution weighs in about 1.8 grams, which is less than the bumblebee bat from Thailand and Myanmar, weighing in around just 2 grams, but the shrew is longer than the bat. Remember there are 28 grams in one ounce and 2 grams is the weight of one paperclip!

This is the smallest North American mammal, the American pygmy shrew. This example, from the research collections of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, is under four inches in total length.

What is the fastest land mammal?

The cheetah is hands down the fastest, but it does not sustain speed over a great distance; the cheetah is a burst-predator with a chase lasting typically less than a minute. The cheetah goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about three seconds, which is what a good sports car can do! At top speed, the length of one stride is 21 feet and there are four strides per second.

Everything about the cheetah is built for speed and hunting. This view of a skull in the research collection of Carnegie Museum of Natural History shows enormous orbits for its large eyeballs providing keen vision and its very large nasal opening, which allows more oxygen to enter the lungs.

What is the slowest land mammal?

The name says it all...sloth! There are two types of sloths found in the tropics of Central America and northern South America, usually called three-toed and two-toed sloths. This is a misnomer as both types have three toes on their hindfeet; what differs is the number of fingers on the forefeet. So, they really should be called three- and two-fingered sloths. Both sloths live most of their lives in trees on a diet of leaves and move so slowly or so little that algae grow on their fur, providing camouflage. Of the two sloths, the three-digited one is smaller and slower.

What is the strongest mammal?

This is just a playful question. It usually isn’t one of the comparisons that scientists try to make. However, the armored hero shrew seems like a good nominee. This shrew lives in the forested region of central Africa. Its spinal column is unique among mammals. The mid-portion is extremely modified with many interlocking bony tubercles that project forward and backward to fortify the spine. The exact purpose is unknown. However, it has been reported that a full-grown man could stand on the back of an armored shrew without harming the animal.

CHARACTERS AND CHARACTER ROLES

The Heroes Concept

Sorry for delay but I finally showing topic that what character would fit into character and how their roles would look like (I explain in here)

As an example let’s start with main cast:

Sonic as Sonic - since he’s the main character of the story there’s no need to change his character role since those are key-important for the plot like in movie

The only in his case would be the change of place and comunity: he’s in world of anthromophic mammals with no powers and certain prejudices and stereotypes, and sometimes certain paranoias, which that makes his anxietes harder since he is also a mammal/hedgehog but still different: blue, prefers shoes, glowes instead of clothes and has powers. And it could be possibility that when he arrived on Zootopia (not sure how if their planet is called Earth or not) the missing mammal case was happening and distrust towards mammals was growing, give him reason to not show up after what happened last time. There could be also small possibility he helped stopped the Bellwether takeover although unknowingly (or maybe not? who knows) and some two pair of eyes probably might noticed him even briefly though if you know what I mean. But for the record he decided to hide in Green Hills where he meet Nick and Judy and you know the rest.

Nick Wilde as Tom Wachowski

Tom personality

Kind-hearted and hard-working, Tom actively pursues the chance to help other people and is dedicated to his duty as Green Hills’s sheriff. He is very brave and is not afraid to get physical if the need arises and is protective of those he cares about. Despite his sharp tongue and an occasionally dark sense of humor, he is very sweet and gentle and frequently goes out of his way to assist others. Tom enjoys telling corny jokes, whether he is alone or with company. According to Sonic, Tom often talks with donuts and eats them if they “do not listen him”.

He dislikes boredom to the point that Green Hills’ lack of action nearly drives him out of his hometown to pursue work in San Fransisco. Tom shows open skepticism when presented with a situation that seems odd or fabricated, such as when he first met Dr. Robotnik. Although Tom is not afraid to fight, he prefers to avoid resorting to violence, shown when he tried to leave the Piston Pit when confronted by angry bar patrons.

Since those two are pretty much different when it comes certain things but have still lot in common like bad pun jokes and sense for justice.

It was not easy to make it right. I wanted him fit into Tom’s role but also keep his Wilde charm he has. Thankfully I was able to do right somehow so here it is:

Nick was actually born in Green Hills and was friend with Judy Hopps in childhood after incident with Gideon, but after incident with Ranger Scouts where she was present in this case ashamed for certain actions he decided to move (or run away) to Zootopia to live as shifty fox, unaware of him been targeted by Bellwether. But Judy whose also decided to study in Zootopia find and trying to make up to him and bring him back to Green Hills. After studying, while dating, they return to Green Hills get married and Nick follows footstep to became sheriff be a better person (unaware of him also been followed by small certain blue guardian: take a hint of what I mean by it). After hearing of Bellwether case he wants to try be a cop in Zootopia to find a purpose (instead just leave Green Hills out of boredoom he wants to prove himself be better). He sympatize with Sonic more since he knows what is like to feared of what you are and been haunted by a past. I still need to work on that.

Judy Hopps as Maddie Wachowski

Maddie Personality

As a veterinarian, Maddie cares deeply about living creatures and enjoys helping them to heal. She scolds Tom not to shoot the raccoons that get into their trash with her dart gun and gets annoyed with him when she finds out he shot Sonic with it. She also shows sympathy for Sonic when she sees that his feet hurt because he wore through his sneakers. She works well under-pressure and shows emotional and intellectual maturity. She is very loving and supportive of her husband. She made him a cake to congratulate him in case he got the job he wanted in San Francisco and another cake in case he did not get it. She also tells him that since he has made sacrifices for her, she is happy to sacrifice for him.

She cares for her husband since childhood despite of what happened, she even go after him to make up to him, save him from wrong path and ask for forgiveness, since she feels responsible for it, even though none of both was fault. She was born in Bunnyburrow but always visited her relatives from mothers side in Green Hills where she also first met Nick (inspired by my life, I really love to visit my relatives) She wanted to be cop but could not, but also found a passion in medicine and that is why she became vet after she moved in Green Hills with Nick (those two make a really great team, also it is nice callback from concept of Zistopia where Nick pretented to be vet). She also shows connection with Sonic and in this case has less problems with his “nudity” considering she always has to check her patients without clothes. (trust me I know what I talking about)

Again still need to work on that. I hope you help me grinding with this. For now that is all but I promise there will be more. Also think you can pictures on those description since I dont know how to do that along with your opinions? (you can use my drawing for that if you want ;-D)

But anyhoo, on to this lovely Sonic crossover!

When it comes to the setting, do you think Green Hills should actually be BunnyBurrow? Or do you want Green Hills to remain it’s own thing?

I guess I ask because the way Nick is being set up, he kind of reminds me of this one fic that Helthehatter wrote called, “Blueberries”, where it’s an alternate story of how Nick and Judy met. In that fic, Nick is a deputy in BunnyBurrow and his police partner is Finnick and Nick is pretty bored because not much happens in a small town like BunnyBurrow (that is until he meets Judy, who never became a cop before meeting him).

I picture Nick would be something like this where he and Judy weren’t the ones who solved the Bellwether and Nighthowlers case, but Jack and Skye. And he wants to have an exciting adventure like that and be a hero, do something important, but nothing ever happens in BunnyBurrow/Green Hills.

I could still see Judy being his partner on the force, but unlike him, she’s actually pretty content being a cop in a small town. Though, if you like the idea of her being a vet better for this then I could work with that ^^

Personality wise it shouldn’t be too hard to give the characters similar traits since they seem to have enough in common.

Would it be okay if Judy does at least try to get Sonic to wear some clothes, it still feels like something she would do, lol! ^^” But of course, in a nice understanding way rather than in a panicky manner.

When it comes to Sonic, rather than Nick just forming a sort of best friendship with him, maybe Sonic can kind of look up to him and Judy like parents? I mean, Sonic is still a teenager and Nick and Judy are full grown adults. That way at the end, he really is joining a new family. :)

I think I like the idea of this Nick having been born in Green Hills/Bunny Burrow rather than Zootopia, because that makes his desire for a new and bigger setting more important. If he grew up in Zootopia, left it, then wants to go back to it, then it kind of takes away that feeling of wanting more.

In regards to Sonic, maybe he decided to hide not just because he’s a blue hedgehog, bust also because he’s basically walking around naked and maybe when he first showed up he walked like that in front of some old ladies and he scared them. Ever since then he decided to observe the animals from afar. It’d be a good reason too why he had a disguise too. Here not to blend in as a human, but simply to cover himself up?

I say let’s just call the Zootopia world Earth. It’s easier ^^

Not sure yet, if Sonic should’ve had an active role in the nighthowler incident, but maybe he did manage to see the fear and chaos it caused in animals via Nick and Judy’s TV and by observing animals from afar. If he did decide to help solve it though, maybe he probably just helped Jack and Skye grab the concentrated pellet and handed it to them like a blue blurr and then with that evidence in their grasp, it proved enough to arrest Bellwether and they got the credit since nobody saw him.

October 2058 - the last chance for contact with Sixam as it is leaving the Solar System for another 200 years. By now bandwidth had become so expensive that only the major nations of Earth and companies of the scope of Amazon or CyberLife can afford to send a message.

The other way around Emperor Xizzle sends a final greeting on behalf of all the five noble clans and the young android nation. His words are transmissioned in real time - but suddenly the picture flickers and under the alien landscape of Sixam the familiar, so human-looking forms of the deviant androids appear.

Their leader, Markus, is on the microphone. He is speaking with his usual confidence - and with the aggression that he usually keeps bottled to employ for fullest effect only when absolutely needed:

“Two hundred years, humans of earth! Enjoy them, because they will be the last your pathetic civilisation will have. When we return, we will sweep across the globe in the united front you mammals never managed to form - and then we will be the masters! We mean no harm, as long as you know your place.”

When Sixam slides out of reach, ending the transmission in grey static, those who are familiar with the android rights movement wonder why Simon hasn’t been in the picture. Has Markus’ closest confidate deserted him?

An hour later the evening news confirm the worst fears: Simon Manfred has remained on Earth to prepare for Sixam’s return and the android takeover. He is now the most wanted person on the planet.

Discovery of a new mass extinction It's not often a new mass extinction is identified; after all, such events were so devastating they really stand out in the fossil record. In a new paper, published today in Science Advances, an international team has identified a major extinction of life 233 million years ago that triggered the dinosaur takeover of the world. The crisis has been called the Carnian Pluvial Episode. The team of 17 researchers, led by Jacopo Dal Corso of the China University of Geosciences at Wuhan and Mike Benton of the University of Bristol's School of Earth Sciences, reviewed all the geological and palaeontological evidence and determined what had happened. The cause was most likely massive volcanic eruptions in the Wrangellia Province of western Canada, where huge volumes of volcanic basalt was poured out and forms much of the western coast of North America. "The eruptions peaked in the Carnian," says Jacopo Dal Corso. "I was studying the geochemical signature of the eruptions a few years ago and identified some massive effects on the atmosphere worldwide. The eruptions were so huge, they pumped vast amounts of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, and there were spikes of global warming". The warming was associated with increased rainfall, and this had been detected back in the 1980s by geologists Mike Simms and Alastair Ruffell as a humid episode lasting about 1 million years in all. The climate change caused major biodiversity loss in the ocean and on land, but just after the extinction event new groups took over, forming more modern-like ecosystems. The shifts in climate encouraged growth of plant life, and the expansion of modern conifer forests. "The new floras probably provided slim pickings for the surviving herbivorous reptiles," said Professor Mike Benton. "I had noted a floral switch and ecological catastrophe among the herbivores back in 1983 when I completed my PhD. We now know that dinosaurs originated some 20 million years before this event, but they remained quite rare and unimportant until the Carnian Pluvial Episode hit. It was the sudden arid conditions after the humid episode that gave dinosaurs their chance." It wasn't just dinosaurs, but also many modern groups of plants and animals also appeared at this time, including some of the first turtles, crocodiles, lizards, and the first mammals. The Carnian Pluvial Episode also had an impact on ocean life. It marks the start of modern-style coral reefs, as well as many of the modern groups of plankton, suggesting profound changes in the ocean chemistry and carbonate cycle. "So far, palaeontologists had identified five "big" mass extinctions in the past 500 million yeas of the history of life," says Jacopo Dal Corso. "Each of these had a profound effect on the evolution of the Earth and of life. We have identified another great extinction event, and it evidently had a major role in helping to reset life on land and in the oceans, marking the origins of modern ecosystems."
