Impressionists had been paying tribute to the actor William Shatner for years. Finally, however, an official day was observed in 2009. Shatner is also an author, producer, director, screenwriter, commercial astronaut, and musician. The role that has gained him an eternal fan following is his portrayal of Captain James T. I originally drew this for July's Patreon thank you image! July 1st is Canada Day, so I thought something showing my (our?) Canadian heritage would be good. :3 I redid the legs today, though. I think the new pose/sizes for them look better! It's kind of timely I'm posting this now since I voted in a provincial election yesterday, haha. GO NDP! 🧡

In other news! Having just been to Canada fucking EVERY logo has a little maple leaf added to it! It was Where’s Waldo with that sucker.
The little leaf started off normally enough- road signs and interstate stuff, very valid.
We got into town and didn’t think too much of it but a lot of signs and businesses had one incorporated. I’ll take it, you guys love that maple syrup.
But then. The sneaky ones started popping up. I used to work for a company called Sleep Country in the US, well there’s one in Canada too that’s unaffiliated. We were checking out the logo which seemed really similar. Except instead of having a hole in their “O” they had a tiny maple leaf.
Food Network had a little leaf under their logo.
But the real kicker was driving by a Denny’s and I was laser focused. I told my fiancée that there’s no way there wasn’t some sneaky leaf. As we rounded their big sign I screamed. The maple leaf was the apostrophe.

Anon: Is grieving for their child and is worrying about their child's safety.
Banban: "My name is Dr. Uthman Adams, and I live in Montreal Canada. This is my message of atonement. Due to previous events my memory is now blurry, but I will explain to you everything I have known. Before I became Banban, I worked with the other researchers before everything came crashing down. I should have spoken up sooner, so this wouldn't have happened. There was an issue with the ball pit being structurally unstable, but we didn't take it as a serious issue. By the time I realized what we were doing wrong, it was too late. I wasn't taken seriously due to me being affected by the givanium and becoming this being. No, on the contrary, I was seen as a monster by my former researchers and coworkers. Many times I told them about the issues and yet they didn't take me seriously, so now I have to do the best I can to stop more damage from happening. The old Uthman couldn't understand the issues with what he did, but now I, the new Uthman, reborn from the givanium pit, shall attempt to redeem myself by helping your child. That is the most I can do for now as I am stuck in this form permanently, with almost all of my memories wiped. From now on I will better myself, no matter what happens next, I'll make sure of it."

Following up
On the earlier ask
About the subtle pride flags- how would you do? I really hope this makes sneae I’m a bit out of it sorry
I suppose it would depend somewhat! I guess I'd just make the flag less the centre of attention.
So for like a lot of the pride doodles the characters are holding big flags or part of their outfit is pride coloured or whatever. But I could make it more subtle by like, just having them wearing a badge or a patch on their shirt instead of the whole shirt being pride coloured. If that makes sense?

“Alternative suggestions for a National Emblem for Canada as submitted by T. E. Kaiser of Oshawa, former MP, are shown here. Both feature the maple leaf, one with the Canadian emblem in the field of the Red Ensign, and one with the leaf in the centre of the crosses of the Union deck.”
