Jase: I am the Patrei, I am of the highest rank here. Nobody can trump a patrei's decision. My decision is THE final decision.
Kazi: *raises an eyebrow*
Jase: except my beautiful wife, of course.
Kazi: *looks at Jase with an "are you kidding me?" expression*
Jase: *stutters* I- I meant.. I meant the Ambassador...

“What did they do to you, Kazi?” His voice was low, earnest. Even in the dim light, I was able to see the worry in his eyes. I pretended I didn’t know what he was talking about. “Who did what?” “Who made you afraid of an open world? An open sky? Was it Venda? Your parents?” “No one did anything,” I answered quietly. “Then hold on to me,” he said.                             “Let me show you the stars.”

“Are you afraid of spirits?” She asked.
“No,” I answered. “The dead can’t harm you. It’s the living I fear.”

I had an absolute blast reading Pearson’s “The Remnent Chronicles!” I discovered it after a friend told me to read “The Dance of Thieves” duology and I am so glad I reached for it!
I definitely recommend this trilogy to those new to the young adult fantasy genre 🗡🤍 It won’t take long to become completely immersed in the world and fully invested in the characters and their storyline!
I definitely plan on revisiting this series soon and I hope Pearson will allow us to return to Morrighan, Venda, and Dalbreck in future works 🤞

TW: Dance of Thieves duology spoilers, curse words.
Jase being the overdramatic being he is probably sang Favourite Crime by Olivia Rodrigo when Kazi stole criminals from under his nose, all while maintaining the ruse of a relationship with him and then took him with her as well because he wouldn't back down.
And Kazi would just be sitting there with the no fucks given attitude, but really be hurting inside.
And then, when they both made up, Kazi would definitely award Jase with a lot of punches and slaps and very colourful words as they make their way back to Tor's Watch, Hell's Mouth.
And then Jase is just like, "why must you hurt me this way-?"

Crônicas de Amor e Ódio - Mary E. Pearson
Ordem dos livros
The Kiss of Deception - Vol. 1: Plante ilusões e você colherá do mundo grandes decepções
The Heart of Betrayal - Vol. 2: O segundo volume da fantasia mais amada do ano
The Beauty of Darkness - Vol. 3: O volume final da fantasia que arrebatou os leitores brasileiros
Descrição do livro #1
Quem a encontrará primeiro?
