Got tagged by @toadstool32 for this meme! (Thank you Tiny love you<333)
Rules: shuffle your on repeat playlist and post the first 10 tracks, then tag 10 people. (I don't really have any on repeat playlists but I do have a general one but split into two because youtube has a limit to how many videos you can have in a set playlist and my jam library is very large so instead of 10 songs you're getting 20. I hope that's OK. First song listed is in the first playlist and second song in the second playlist.)
Smeargle's Art Study - Miki Obata / Battle (Team Flare) - Shota Kageyama, Minako Adachi, Hitomi Sato, Junichi Masuda

PMK DVD Booklet Interviews 4
Thanks to @/pmkloveadmin and their kind friend yuunsoba who provided the raws for these interviews! Here’s the fourth set; please enjoy!
INTERVIEW 11 SHIMADA KAI (Voice actor: Iwasaki Masami)
Please tell us your genuine reaction to the announcement of the movie project.
Surprise! Deep emotion! My enthusiasm gushed forth! Even now, our relationships carry on!
Please tell us your genuine reaction to your first read-through of the script.
In my heart, I felt a deep sympathy for the kind and strong men who lived through the fierce Bakumatsu era. It’s a painful thing.
How was it, revisiting this character after so long? Please tell us your impression of the performance and anything you kept in mind while acting.
Shimada Kai is the kind of person who lived his life righteous in both body and mind. I’m happy to play him.
What scene do you think has the biggest impact, and what scene do you want people to pay attention to?
The scene where a man known as a demon shows utmost kindness. Rather than communicating it directly, it’s communicated through feeling.
This is a story about the Shinsengumi’s great ambitions. After this, what sort of challenges do you want to tackle?
I’ll try to live each day to its fullest and proceed with diligence in mind.
Finally, please leave a message for the fans who watch this series.
I think the most important things remain the same for everyone, regardless of what sticks in each person’s heart or how differently they feel things. Viva Peacemaker Kurogane! Thank you!
INTERVIEW 12 KONDO ISAMI (Voice actor: Takaya Hasi)
Please tell us your genuine reaction to the announcement of the movie project.
I thought, “woah! They’re doing it!” After that, I was just immediately excited that I would get to work with everyone again. They’re fun friends.
Please tell us your genuine reaction to your first read-through of the script.
I ended up looking back on my own youth while reading about these young boys who were swallowed by the big wave of the turning point of that time. Even I get sentimental sometimes, you know?
How was it, revisiting this character after so long? Please tell us your impression of the performance and anything you kept in mind while acting.
As far as Kondo-san goes in this work, we share the same thoughts and opinions. I’m always trying to bring that with me.
What scene do you think has the biggest impact, and what scene do you want people to pay attention to?
Many lines and scenes left a personal impact on me, but I won’t say what they were. It’s everything that will stay in the hearts of those who watch.
This is a story about the Shinsengumi’s great ambitions. After this, what sort of challenges do you want to tackle?
Rather than looking for a challenge, I’m just looking forward to seeing how I might change in the future. I think I’m going to become a strange old man… Nyahaha!
Finally, please leave a message for the fans who watch this series.
Thank you very much. I’m grateful to everyone who watched.
INTERVIEW 13 SAYA (Takahashi Mikako)
Please tell us your genuine reaction to the announcement of the movie project.
I was really surprised! And happy to be able to reprise the role that I played over 10 years ago at the very start of my career. The theatrical release also made me realize just how much and for how long fans have loved the work.
Please tell us your genuine reaction to your first read-through of the script.
“I have to take care!” I got really fired up when I thought about how I could film Saya’s first love as she grew up and her life in Shimabara. After that, when I thought about Saya, I got sad and cried a bit. Saizo was a twist, I was worried he wouldn’t appear (laughs). I was relieved that he did. After all, a mascot character is totally necessary! It’s hard to find such a cute pig with such a grumpy expression.
How was it, revisiting this character after so long? Please tell us your impression of the performance and anything you kept in mind while acting.
My chest was so full that I couldn’t see what was around me (laughs). As expected, considering it’s been over 10 years since I played this role. I felt all emotions strongly, both happiness and sadness. I played her with a more mature voice this time, but I kept the innocence she has about her and was careful not to raise my voice too much. I think my heart was just naturally moved when I heard Tetsu’s lines. I just leave Saizo’s voice all up to chance! (laughs)
What scene do you think has the biggest impact, and what scene do you want people to pay attention to?
Saito-san’s line, “even if it’s just for a second, the time will come when you miss this” really left a deep impression. Since the Shinsengumi is the theme here, I thought it was apt when applied to each and every member. I also want you to pay attention to Tetsu bonking Saya’s head! I could cry! And the cry of Tetsu’s heart at the very end just punched me in the chest!
This is a story about the Shinsengumi’s great ambitions. After this, what sort of challenges do you want to tackle?
All I want to do now is travel alone! I’ve been to Hiroshima in Kanto and Seoul, South Korea before, but I want to go somewhere far away for the first time in ages. I want to ride the Ueda Electric Railway Bessho line in Nagano, visit Bessho onsen, eat delicious local food and enjoy Japan to the fullest.
Finally, please leave a message for the fans who watch this series.
The history of the Shinsengumi really focuses on the daily lives of regular people, and I think you can get the sense that some things don’t change even when the times do. It’d make me happy if you could empathize with Saya’s tragic feelings and accept Saizo’s warmth. Thanks both to the people who have supported us all this time, and to everyone watching for the first time! Please continue to love us moving forward, too!  ♥
INTERVIEW 14 YAMATOYA SUZU (Tachibana Shinnosuke)
Please tell us your genuine reaction to the announcement of the movie project.
The drama CD ended a while ago, so I was quite surprised to hear suddenly about a movie project. But that surprise quickly turned to excitement.
Please tell us your genuine reaction to your first read-through of the script.
The conversational drama that happens between people in this story is interesting, of course, but another highlight are the battle scenes. It was a lot of fun to see it in motion.
How was it, revisiting this character after so long? Please tell us your impression of the performance and anything you kept in mind while acting.
Even in the anime, Suzu’s nastiness was alive and well, so I was able to play him to the utmost while having a great time.
What scene do you think has the biggest impact, and what scene do you want people to pay attention to?
Oh geez, I would say “everything”! (laughs) I think that it won’t give you even a second where you’ll want to take your eyes away!! So please keep them open and watch from the very start to the very end (laughs).
This is a story about the Shinsengumi’s great ambitions. After this, what sort of challenges do you want to tackle?
I want to do too many things, I can’t write them all here (laughs).
Finally, please leave a message for the fans who watch this series.
A work that was already interesting as a drama CD finally became a movie!! How was it? This is the first part, so I’m sure you’re already excited about the next. Surely there will be a lot of Suzu in part 2… no… I’ll really be in trouble if there isn’t (laughs). So please wait a little longer until then! ☆

Shows I watch when I’m down
We all have our bad days when we feel depressed and unmotivated for no reason. Don’t beat yourself up over it, it’s a sign that you’re having a burn out or simply exhausted and just need a break from everything.
Don’t feel guilty about taking the day off to rest. Watching shows can be good for your mental health as it allows you to stop thinking and relax. To me it’s much better than scrolling aimlessly on social media.
On social media, you will inevitably compare your life progress with your peers making you feel more insecure and miserable. Watching shows can inspire and motivate you, it makes you think and reflect on your life.
Movie - The Last Samurai
youtube
“A man does what he can, until his destiny is revealed.”
It’s more than just a movie about Samurai battles, it’s a movie about finding your purpose in life. Tom Cruise plays a broken character named Nathan Algren who is forever haunted by his past. He no longer sure of what he is fighting for. He does not know what to do with his life. He sleep walks through life and drowns his sorrow in drinks hoping to ease the pain and forget the past.
Lost in life, he does not even know why he is still alive and wishes to die to end his suffering which is why he is fearless in battle. Until he met Katsumoto (Ken Watanabe) that he began to re-evaluate his standing in life and way of thinking, transforming him into a better person who no longer need to drown himself in drinks, no longer feel pain but accepts himself for who he is.
Series - Cobra Kai
youtube
“Life shows no mercy, neither should we.”
It’s more than just a show about martial artists kicking butts, it’s a show of redemption and changing your life for the better. William Zabka plays a broken character named Johnny Lawrence who is traumatised by his childhood days. He finds it difficult to let go of the past when he has nothing to move on at present, much less think or plan about his future.
Lost in life, he does not even know what he is doing and sleepwalk his way through life, doing jobs he hates and drowning his sorrow in drinks. Until he met Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and found his new purpose in life, a second chance, to make things better, for himself and the kids he aspired to help, so that they would not end up with regrets later on, like him.
Drama - Fight Song
youtube
“I think God is too cruel.”
Kisara Hanae (Kiyohara Kaya) is a fearless, hard working and high spirited girl who takes pride in being an expert martial artists. But her life was crumbled when she almost died in a road accident after winning her tournament, causing her to began losing her hearing and unable to return to her martial arts training. She became broken, knowing that her life will never be the same again.
Her life began to change once again, but this time, for the better, when she met Ashida Haruki (Mamiya Shotaro), a struggling songwriter who used to be famous due to his one-hit wonder song but his band had disbanded, leaving him alone. Together, they tried to help one another in getting through their hard lives and learning to accept their new life and love themselves.
Film - After the Rain
youtube
“I don’t have dreams and aspirations anymore.”
Akira Tachibana (Nana Komatsu) is a high school role model athlete that every student admired. Until she injured her leg during a training, which shattered her dreams into leaving the track and field club. Heartbroken and lost, as running was the only thing that made her happy since she was a child and the only thing that makes her feel special, she wondered why her life went wrong.
She works part time under her manager, Kondo Masami (Yo Oizumi), who is in the middle of a mid-life crisis. Seeing himself in her, a broken person, he tried his best to restore her back to her former glory in becoming a runner again. And seeing someone young and passionate like Akira rekindles his own forgotten dreams and lost youthful passion in becoming a writer.
Anime - Sakura Quest
youtube
"That’s when I realised, it doesn’t have to be me.”
Yoshino Koharu is from the countryside who came to Tokyo to study and find a job, hoping to start a new and exciting life but reality is often disappointing. After numerous failed job interviews, she questions her self-worth and doubt her own abilities until she got a contract job at the countryside which she resented as she is back to where she started.
But taking the job for the tourism board to revitalize a town opened her eyes and changes her mindset as she met other individuals from all walks of life, from other cities and towns who are as lost and confused as her in life. Despite her challenging job, she did not give up and over time, she grew to love her job. That’s when she realised that some things happen for a reason.

NO LISTEN. LISTEN. I CONCEALED THE TITLE ON PURPOSE BECAUSE... IDK what it is but I have a tendency to like things that would be hard to watch for one reason or another for MOST of the runtime but then by the end it's like Oh So This Was GOOD Actually? Oh So My Brain Is Rewired?
And then it just becomes IMPOSSIBLE to recommend because I have no idea if The Majority Of It would actually be worth the conclusion to anyone but me😭😭😭SP is along those lines, sort of, but I've at least seen success with that... but this is also the case for my favorite Tsutsumi movie of all time, actually... alas...
Nevertheless. The show is called After the Rain! I think it was originally a manga and it has a live-action adaptation too [criminal not to actually cast Tsutsumi in either In My Opinion but FINE I GUESS]. It's about a former track star in high school, Akira Tachibana, who works part-time at a restaurant and has the MOST EMBARRASSING crush on her manager, Masami Kondo, the character I showed you before, who is Tsutsumi But As A Middle-Aged Divorcee With A Son. They befriend each other and help each other come to grips with the future and the past, respectively.
I was afraid of the obvious because a lot of media that tries to do this ends up making it fucking weird... like, this sort of dynamic means a lot to me for personal reasons and I've been burned too many times by characters I'd come to love and trust... but naw... my man Kondo is Normal About It that's all that matters to me... I had to breathe SUCH a sigh of relief...
I really don't like that the camera is sometimes not normal about Akira, though, it undermines the actual themes of the show a bit. IDK, I'm hypersensitive, I expect it's nothing super egregious compared to a lot of other media, but it's just disappointing because SOMETIMES there's artistic merit in terms of representing what Akira's feeling and other times it's just totally unnecessary and introduces a tonal clash... SPEAKING OF THERE IS A GUY WHO IS NOT NORMAL ABOUT AKIRA AND THE ENTIRE PLOT THREAD IS BASICALLY JUST DROPPED BECAUSE HE'S HARDLY EVEN IN THE SHOW AFTER THAT... I WANTED CONSEQUENCES...
But if nothing else, that's not even exactly why I said it's a hard watch, the actual reason is the NUCLEAR levels of secondhand embarrassment for like two thirds of the show. Like GIRL he is NOT INTO YOU AND HE SHOULDN'T BE... GET A GRIP OH MY GODDDDDDDD................. but like, I was That Girl when I was her age, right, so the fact it had me imploding thinking back on everything is a testament to its accuracy overall. Probably.
And NGL that type of dynamic is basically how I conceptualize RGGJo and Arakawa when they first met... Jo and Akira may be cringe-ass teens but I got a soft spot for it I do... it can be FUNNY... it can be WHOLESOME...
All of that being said, the last third or so might as well be a different show, and it kind of blows the rest out of the water for me. Maybe because it focuses on Kondo and Akira separately? But it's free of literally anything I could possibly complain about. I ain't mad about the first two thirds, it does set up a lot of what made the last third so enjoyable... buuut...
ANYWAY that's ENOUGH OF THAT I am CUTTING MYSELF OFF THERE I've gone on for WAY TOO LONG ABOUT SHIT NOBODY ASKED ABOUT☠️Not like you can say anything to All That I just don't have anybody to talk to about it☠️and despite the fact I'm still not REALLY Recommending It and don't think it sounds appealing from my description, I feel like I probably shouldn't talk about the endgame stuff I'm obsessed with so☠️☠️☠️Anyway. If NOTHING Else. Funny as hell to have Tsutsumi as the basis for The Perfect Middle-Aged Man... SOOO true...
YAYA the DQXI demo goes like, up to just after you get the? Twins? in your party. And you can keep playing the game without progressing the story + continue your save in the full game so technically speaking I COULD grind until I'm overpowered... but I shan't... I'm not positive when I'm getting it since I still wanna play the series in order... For Ichiban... [<- see this is RGG-related now]
It is SO sick to actually get to play though, that's awesome! Toriyama's worked on some bangers what can I say... My first DQ was one of the DS remakes, probably DQV, but the only DQ game I've ever actually finished was the Rocket Slime spinoff. Very Fun By The Way genuinely one of my favorite DS titles... but THAT'S NEITHER HERE NOR THERE... regardless... Arachtagon is not in the demo but I can believe he's a bitch to fight given one of the top results is this ☠️
Tumblr media
So I'm glad you're past it and are having fun with the game :] I loved your comic SOOO SO SO much so having that bit of background on makes it all the more enjoyable! I had my own comic about RGGJo losing his mind "babysitting" Ichi and watching him grind for hours on end which was also lowkey about my experience with DQI... lol... lmao even...
I'M SORRYYYYYY THOUGH I TOLD YOU SP WAS SLOW TO START FOR A REASON 😭😭😭😭It took me a while to notice but title sequences are always something like Episode III Part I so they're almost all multi-ep arcs... threw me for a loop... Okay that's enough from me Jesus fucking Christ I am SORRY for going on this long but just I have to say:
inoue's chara is so funny like He's Super Human um doc… i think he's just autistic lowkey….. he still a baller regardless tho
REAL AND TRUE AND REAL AND TRUE AND REAL AND
and i've already added it to the To-Watch list :) NO BUT REAL I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL- in trying to sell something but having to be like Here Me Out I Swear on it BUT I BELIEVE YOU THAT ITS GOOD. i know i can trust your word on something and i def appreciate the preemptive notes given before watching. im sure i'll enjoy it in the end: it looks cute and im glad it sounds like it's doing something better with a Touchy trope ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ biggest RIP to no tsutsumi in the live action but... cant be helped.....
NO BUT IT'S SO FUNNY CAUSE FOR MY COMIC I WANTED TO SEE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE'S 'HARDEST BOSSES' WERE AND I FELT SO SEEN IN SEEING ARACHTAGON AS AN OPTION..... funnily enough tho when i redid the fight it wasnt nearly as nightmarish as it was when i first did it but Again i think i was just better prepared... (also during my first attempt i had Literally the most fuck ass luck where my team kept getting stunned and dying but rab kept bringing them back to life and i Just Couldnt Die or even move so... Horrible First Experience Ruined A Game For Seven Months For Me ( ̄▽ ̄ ;;;;)). the first instance of DQ i remember seeing was DQIX and being liek 'hey they looks familiar :)' and ive just been watchin it since 🤭 ROCKET SLIME IS SO CUTE THOUGH if you had to finish ANY of the games im glad it was that one... i wish i got to play the series in order since I Like Doing That but im annoying about wanting to play things on The Official Console...
AH BUT IVE ALWAYS LIKED THE IDEA OF JO WATCHING ICHI PLAY A GAME i mentioned i had an abandoned comic about it but its still such a silly and cute idea.. id very much like to do something with it someday if not see others have fun with it cause i think they should have them silly family moments too..
NO IT'S OK I JUST FOUND IT FUNNY AN ARC WAS LIKE. 3-4 EPS WHEN AT MOST THEY'RE LIKE TWO i'm just about rapping up the ohashi arc and its SOOOOO good... i also love how the drama has a pretty diverse soundtrack that i notice a lot of other jdramas lack so thats DEF been a bonus plus all of the choreography (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) and real. inoue Is Just Neurodivergent that got solidified within me after seeing him mess around with that riddle book ☠️

Koi no Ameagari no You ni
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
_____________
A recent anime that I watched was Koi no Ameagari no you ni (After the Rain). It's based on the manga of the same name, by Jun Mayuzuki, published in 2014.
The anime was aired from January to March, 2018, adapted by WIT studio.
I went into it knowing nothing about either the manga or the summary of the events, I didn't see any reviews beforehand either. It was the pretty art style that drew me in.
And I was not disappointed.
It's a really heartwarming story, of a high school girl, Akira Tachibana, who's a budding athlete, but has recently suffered a serious injury to her achilles tendon and had to pull out of sports, crushing all her dreams.
This is the story of how she withdraws from life, finds a temp job at a family restaurant and becomes friends with the staff there, especially the kind hearted manager Kondo, who runs it.
Kondo was an aspiring writer in his student days, but had to give up his dreams under the pressure of his obligations to family. He still writes secretly but doesn't think it'll ever amount to anything.
Akira and Kondo develop an unexpected friendship, and they become each other's biggest supports, with Kondo inspiring Akira to "fly again" and Akira extracting a promise from Kondo that she'll wait for the day when she can "read the book he's working on".
______________
If you've seen summaries elsewhere and are off put by the seeming "romance between characters with an uncomfortable age difference", that's a load of stupid talk.
This anime doesn't even skim close to anything of the sort. It's a simple, beautiful story, and while I do acknowledge Akira's innocent crush on Kondo, it doesn't hamper the message that the story tries to convey.
Anyway, this is my overall impression. I had to rant about it somewhere, and he was the best place. XD
And did I talk about the music?? The ending credits?? Oh man.... I'll be forever stuck with it. It's called Ref:rain, by Aimer.
