Marcovaldo family x Reader
A/N: Massimo with a Feminine S/O, takes place after Massimo adopts Alberto.
My masterlist is -> here
Massimo (Luca)
Tumblr media
Massimo is a kind man, we all know that.
He likes to hold your hands in his larger ones. He is a softly for the ones he loves.
Cooking together and walks are things he enjoys doing with you.
He isn't the jealous type, he trusts you completely.
He is a big guy so he gives you ever bigger hugs that last a few seconds unless he's in a hurry. Then it's just a quick hug.
He adores the things you do. Even if it is simple as doing something right. He treats you like you are the only person in the world.
Massimo may be a tall man with little words but his eyes and hands tell a different story. His light touches are gentle and love is always shown in his eyes as he looks at you. It's obvious that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you.
His daughter, Giulia, felt indifferent about you at first.
She wants what is best for her father and wants him to be happy.
But she also doesn't feel like he needs another potential spouse after him and her mother.
She felt like her father and mother would get back together but gave up on that hope after a while.
Giulia slowly warms up to you after seeing how happy you make Massimo.
She told her dad and admitted to you that she'd never call you "Mama" or "Mom".
You gently reassured her that it is completely okay if she never does. And you also told her that you'd never replace her mother which she greatly appreciated.
Massimo does plan things between the three of you to try and bond.
The man is a giant sweetheart when it comes to you and his daughter.
If he ever saw you and Giulia sleeping beside each other due to her accidentally falling asleep by you... Mans has an overload of emotions.
Of course he doesn't show it all that much but you can tell that he enjoys seeing you and his daughter getting along.
On the other hand, Alberto kinda liked the idea of having a mother figure in his life.
He thinks it is nice that Massimo found someone who loves him.
Alberto was hesitant at first during your first encounter but very soon he warmed up to.
He'd be protective over you if anyone came around you for too long.
He wouldn't admit it, but he enjoys moments when you run your fingers through his curly hair while he's in your lap. Instantly knocked out 'cause of it being so relaxing.
He would call you "Mama" or "Mom" at one point in yours and Massimo's relationship.
Alberto would want to show you everything he is proud of. How good he swims, how he can ride a bike, how fast he can climb, etc.
Moving on to tiny oneshot...
"Giulia! Alberto! Dinner is ready!" You yelled from the kitchen. When you received no response, you went outside and yelled it again towards the beach.
Giulia and Alberto looked at each other and big smiles broke out onto their faces. Giulia stood up before he could. "Race ya home!"
The boy quickly got up and laugher erupted from the both of them. They were both out of breath when they reached the house. Alberto put his hands on his knees and swallowed as he panted. "I won."
You smiled and rolled your eyes seeing the two of them compete against one another. "Come on you two. Eat before the food gets cold." You sat plates down onto the wooden table for everyone including yourself.
Giulia threw her hands in the air. "Yes! Trenette al Pesto!" Her and Alberto stuffed their faces with the pasta that you cooked.
You chuckled softly at the display and shook your head. "Woah woah, slow down. You're going to choke if you eat that fast."
Alberto shrugged and put more of the noodles on his fork. "It's alright Mama, I won't." The boy stopped mid bite with the fork close to his mouth; his mouth wide open. He was frozen as he realized what he had said. Giulia looked at him with big surprised eyes and her cheeks looked like a chipmunk since she was eating when he spoke.
Massimo raised one of his thick eyebrows while you tried not to tear up. Alberto put the fork down and finally looked at you. He cleared his throat and nervously met your eyes. "I'm sorry, it just slipped out."
You weren't mad or weirded out by him calling you 'Mama'. You found it sweet and made your heart swell. You leaned forward and put a gentle hand on the boy's shoulder. "Don't be sorry. I don't mind if you call me that. If you want to, you can."
Alberto smiled. "Really? I-I can?" He immediately jumped down from his seat and hugged you tightly. You blinked down at him but then happily smiled and wrapped your arms around him. Giulia was now smiling softly at the scene with her head tilted. Massimo cracked a smile and put a forkfull of pasta in his mouth.

ARC Review of Mafia Virgin by Mila Finelli
Tumblr media
Rating: 4.5/5 Heat Level: 4/5 Publication Date: December 13th
Premise:
Aspiring doctor Emma Mancini is forced into an arranged marriage with Cosa Nostra Don Giacomo Buscetta allegedly to keep the peace between their families, and now they have just a few months to get pregnant.
My review:
This was the perfect end to the Kings of Italy series complete with all the greatest mafia hits: an intelligent but innocent heroine who's just begging to be corrupted, a brutal, gruff don who is VERY into that, an arranged marriage, and an order to get pregnant.... or else.
Emma's vibe is innocent, but also not. As she won't hesitate to remind you, she's an aspiring doctor who's not squeamish of bodily functions, and then she'll proceed to interrogate Giacomo about how his foreskin impacts his dick piercing, and whether he's into prostate play (the answer is yes, in case you were wondering). Not only does Giacomo find her brand of scientific exploration hot, but it also compliments his blunt personality.
Giacomo (under no circumstances will I be calling him Mo I'm sorry) is very different from the previous three Kings of Italy heroes; he doesn't bother with an elegant or legitimate facade of any sort and is more of a rough-and-ready type (a bit o'rough, perhaps?). Everyone thinks he's a "more brawn than brain" kinda guy (which he also internalized thanks to his dad), but that couldn't be further from the truth. For one, every time Emma tries to pull one over him, he catches on real fast. And he's good at math. I thought it was interesting that always being second best in his father's eyes is also the reason Giacomo is deeply into Emma being an *untouched virgin* because she's just for him and no one else.
Much like Fausto and Enzo, Giacomo is an older hero (there's a 12 year age gap) who feels guilty for exactly 10 seconds for being attracted to the younger, more innocent heroine (well tbh, I don't think Enzo ever felt guilty) before going into full-throttle seduction mode. Let me put it this way— the first "little girl" he utters might be derisive, but the rest of them are... very much not. And on Emma's part, she's super into the biiiiig, jacked, tatted thing Giacomo has going on (shoutout to that gym voyeurism scene), even if she's slightly upset that biology has triumphed logic.
And that's actually a pretty big part of Emma and Giacomo's romantic conflict; you won't get a lot of histrionics from these two, but everything Emma regards as logical and right— her dreams of becoming a doctor, her bodily autonomy, and even her being able to return to Toronto— has little to no meaning in the mafia world. And because of Giacomo's powerlessness in the past, he has no interest in relinquishing the power he has as a Don now, which is why the overarching plot centers around him trying to take back his power after being forced to marry Emma, and the retaliation that ensues. Ultimately, Emma and Giacomo have to reconcile these two distinct worldviews to be together.
Sidenote: in case you miss the rest of the Kings of Italy gang, don't worry; Frankie and Gia show up to support their sister and to remind us they're getting dicked down on the reg by wealthy, powerful (older) men, Enzo and Fausto are still trading insults like hissy kitties off-screen, and tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber (Vito and Massimo) make appearances as well.
The sex:
EXCELLENT. What I love about Mila Finelli sex scenes is that they will always deliver (complete with loads of Italian—and in this book Sicilian— dirty talk), and then toss in a few extra things you're thinking about long after you finish the book.
For one, Giacomo and Emma have a pretty hilarious start to their sexual relationship thanks to some questionable advice from Giacomo's cousin and his cook that amounts to "if you wanna make nice with her to get her preggo, you gotta make nice with her pussy first", which Giacomo takes quite literally. You have to appreciate a man who's trying, even if he responds to her "you're beautiful" with "I love your tits".
Also, if there's a breeding kink involved (and there is; if you couldn't tell by the summary, there absolutely is), cum-play/cum-eating feels like the natural progression of this kink, and Mila 100% delivers.
There is many a "moglie" and "marito" in this book which I personally love (and many a "sporcacciona" because they can't be all sweet).
There is a also good amount of ball play (and Giacomo pondering on the sad lack of love they get lolol), and I mention this because the specific moment from this book that lives rent-free in my head involves said act during a shower blowjob, AND it ties into their breeding kink. Brava.
Overall:
This is a sexy and satisfying (and just really fun) end to the Kings of Italy series. I don't think the book is very dark, but it definitely has all the hallmarks of a mafia romance and I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in this subgenre.
Thank you to Mila Finelli and Valentine PR for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.

You know that Luca short, Ciao Alberto, where Alberto tries to bond with Massimo and it ends with them accepting each other as father and son? I think that could apply well with Tom and either Tails or Knuckles, because on the one hand, Knuckles has a hole in his heart where his biological father once was, but on the other hand, Tails never had the best experience with people before meeting Sonic.
Tumblr media
God, I’ve seen that short too and HONESTLY I CAN PICTURE IT IN MY HEAD.
I feel like it could be better for Knuckles on this instance if we’re including THAT SCENE near the end of it, instead of what Alberto said, maybe Knuckles is more insistent on doing more heavy lifting or work whenever Tom is about to do it, he’s gotten more used to being around him that he’s trying to have Tom as often not leave cause he immediately feels the huge absence of his presence
Tom realizes this and tries to console the echidna about it but the guy isn’t hearing it, leading the two to go back and forth to where it almost gets a little heated, causing Tom to question why he is acting this way.
“I just don’t want you to leave again, father!”
They are both stunned, not knowing what to say to the other. Knuckles keeps his head lowered, to scared in his thoughts to even move, Tom lets out a sigh and gingerly touches his arm, causing Knuckles to flinch a bit but he still looks at him.
“I remember missing my dad too, even when I was around your age. Even if he said he would “be back sooner than I thought”, it still didn’t make the feeling go away until he was back safe at home.”
"But, there was one thing that he taught me to do whenever I felt anxious and scared whenever he wasn’t around."
Knuckles tilted his head. "What was it?"
Tom takes his hand and gently clasps it with Knuckles' hand, bringing both hands to his chest.
"He would tell me, remember the way my heart gives its beat." He then moves the hands to Knuckles' chest, "and remember the way your heart gives a beat. Whenever you feel like you miss me, just listen to the beating of your heart with my heart and always be beating alongside yours even when we're miles apart."
Knuckles blinks. "And did it work, for you?"
The man gives him a smile. "That depends, do you feel calm?"
"Yes."
"Do you feel safe?"
"Yes."
"Do you still feel upset?"
"...yes."
"Then it worked."
He paused and looked up at him in surprise and awe. "H-how did you know that would work?"
Tom gave him a quick wink. "Parents always have a bit of magic to help their kids. It's our job to share that magic so you can have it when we're not around."
"That's astounding."
He gave Knuckles a pat on his head. "It definitely is."

Ruby's F/o Tournament - Round 2 - Match 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vote based on whatever criteria you see fit; the ship of mine you prefer, or whichever character you prefer, or - if you don't know either - whoever you like the vibe of more! Propaganda below the cut. May the best f/o win! ❤️💜💚
Wreck-it Ralph
This f/o has received no propaganda.
Notes from Ruby: The way that I fell for Ralph a few years back is genuinely one of my favorite ways I've ever fallen for an f/o; where I was rewatching the movie after not seeing it since I was a kid, and all it took was a single part of seeing him smile a certain way, and I was DONE. I felt my heart flutter and that was the end of it, he was on my list just days later. He's big and strong but so sweet and gentle, down to earth but still dares to hope and dream, he might just be the perfect man. ❤️❤️❤️
Massimo Marcovaldo
This f/o has received no propaganda.
Notes from Ruby: It's always sweet to me when a character I fall for doesn't go on any grand adventure or do anything extravagant- sometimes all a character needs is to be a kind-hearted loving dad, like Massimo. Although he seems intimidating or stern on the surface, directly under that surface he's an absolute sweetheart. Plus you can just tell by looking at him that he's incredibly handsome and rugged... What is there NOT to love? 💚💚💚
It's not too late! Click here to submit propaganda for any f/o(s)!

Maria raises Alberto in Portorosso AU:
Fed up with Giancarlo sulking that he no longer has her all to himself, Maria takes Alberto and leaves him, going back to town to ask her brother for help. She thinks he's going to tell her he Told Her So, but Massimo is just so glad she's alive and okay that it never occurs to him until way later.
He's definitely shocked that the idiot his sister ran off with was a sea monster, tho.
As Alberto grows up, Maria tells him over and over that being half sea monster isn’t a bad thing, but what's he supposed to think when Mom and Uncle Massimo make such a big deal about keeping it a secret?
Especially when he doesn't go to school because Maria and Massimo agree it's too risky.
People do wonder why Massimo takes him fishing even though Maria has told everyone Alberto can't swim and is afraid of the water.
The island becomes a favourite hideout because Alberto doesn't have to worry about being seen there. Massimo and Maria help him fix up the tower a little.
When he runs into Luca he's immediately intrigued because he's never met somebody who is like him - he only knows what Maria told him about Giancarlo, and since Giancarlo was originally just passing through, she didn't know there were other sea monsters nearby.
'I live on this island with my dad' was a total lie... Luca is obviously afraid of humans, so Alberto is a Normal Sea Monster who only knows about what his Dad had told him about humans. Really. I swear.
But Luca is curious about the human town and it seems the best place to take him when his parents threaten to send him away. Surely they'll be too scared to look for him there.
ALBERTO: "Pretend you don't know me." GIULIA: "What, too embarrassed to have your weird cousin meet your new boyfriend?" ALBERTO: "It's a long story, okay?"
Giulia goes on to have way too much fun playing along. She gets to deliberately do all the things that bug Alberto the most and he can't call her out on it.
More to follow

___________________________________________
Today was an awful day, Alberto decided.
His day was littered with small screw ups and he found himself feeling worse than he should about them. He hadn't even done that bad of a job today—all things considered.
He had just accidentally dropped people's food a ridiculous amount of times, accidentally hit poor old Bianca in the face with a fish, and accidentally tripped over himself approximately 8 times.
Oh boy, he really had screwed up today hadn't he?
And no he wasn't spatastrophizing or whatever that weird word Gulia had called him a few months ago was.
He was fine. Everyone has bad days like this. And he wasn't hiding in his room trying desperately not to cry because it's almost dinner time.
Who would cry about something like this? Definitely not Alberto, nope, no thanks.
But why would Massimo even want to keep him around if he kept screwing up like this? He wasn't earning any of this kindness, and he wasn't improving fast enough, and he had to get better better better before Massimo realized what everyone else already had—that he was sinking valuable resources into a lost cause.
Alberto had to work harder. He had to get better or get left behind.
Alberto was sitting with his knees to his chest, hands gripping his curly hair, and yep okay he was crying now.
The thing was Alberto was working hard. And he still wasn't good enough? Clearly, considering he failed over and over again at the most basic things.
Maybe that was his destiny? To try and try and try and never be good? Maybe he wasn't capable of being enough. Maybe that's why everyone left him.
But everyone hasn't left you! His mind tried. Massimo, Luca, Guilia, Luca's family, even the cat! They all stayed, they all care!
Pity, probably. They were all too charitable, too nice. Alberto knew he didn't deserve it. They probably did too.
No! Love, not pity!
If he realized he was a lost cause, it wouldn't be long before Massimo did too, Alberto realized, feeling panic crawl up his throat. This charade could only last so long. Massimo was getting rid of him soon soon soon.
Everything was feeling fuzzy and far away and so much all at the same time. He was gasping and gasping and gasping and getting no air. His lungs crashed up and down without his control. His fingers were suddenly yanking at his curls hard. The pain was supposed to be grounding but it quickly became another thing Alberto lost control over.
This was bad.
The steps up to Giulias old room creaked as a gruff sounding voice called out, "Alberto?"
Massimo.
This was worse.
Alberto clamped a hand over his useless gasping mouth.
What was he going to tell Massimo if he found him like this? Sorry, I just can't breathe because I know that you're going to get rid of me, it's no big deal though. Let's go have pasta! Yeah. That'd go great he bets.
Massimo would have to deal with another one of Albertos screw ups. Would this one push him over the edge?
Massimo called out a few more times, and Alberto sat in the corner of Guilias room, shaking, trying to desperately pull himself together.
Please don't come upstairs please don't come upstairs please dont—
So Massimo had come upstairs.
"Alberto..." He said, voice uncharacteristically soft.
Suddenly Massimo was crouched in front of Alberto, on the floor.
Alberto tried his best to be quiet, his dad before always got mad when he threw tantrums like this. He hated how whiney and annoying he sounded when he failed to hold back a gasping sob. He looked away from Massimo. He didn't want to see what face he was making.
"Look at me. You need to breathe, son." There was something incredibly comforting about Massimos way of speaking, and Albertos heart ached at being called son so easily. The fuzzy panic was still here, plaguing his insides, but it felt a little less oppressive. 'Dad is here, Dad is here, Dad is here,' his mind chanted.
Alberto looked up. Massimos face held nothing but concern and care and it made him want to cry for a whole other reason.
"Follow me." Massimo said, simply. He took slow deep breaths. Alberto tried his best to follow. I mean; he's gotta at least be able to breath right, yeah? Apparently not.
He choked on his breath. A few times. But Massimo looked at him with such encouragement that he just had to keep trying. And he did.
So now, Alberto was sitting here, feeling a lot more real and there, no longer drowning in the air. He would say that's a pretty good lifestyle improvement.
He was still shaking a little though, which wasn't very cool.
Suddenly he was wrapped up in warm, sturdy arms and he almoat started crying again. "What happened, my boy?"
Now was the hardest part. What was he supposed to say?
"I just...had a bad day, I guess." Alberto muttered into Massimos shoulder, cringing at the way his voice came out after crying. "M'sorry," he added lamely.
"There's nothing to be sorry for," Massimo said, in a way that made it sound like a simple fact. "Do you want to talk?"
Alberto nodded, and although Massimo pulled away from the hug, he kept a hand on the boys knee.
"Uhm—I just. I screwed a lot of things up. And I was thinking..." Alberto sucked in a sharp breath, "That you might not be a big fan of that? Or...really. Want me around? I know I'm not very—"
"Alberto. You belong here. That will not change."
"But—"
"You are a hard worker. Smart. Funny. Kind. Good."
"I don't deserve this!" Alberto said, and it was a desperate, broken sound.
Massimos expression was suprised, then steady. "You do."
Something about that broke Alberto all over again, and he was leaning into the other man's shoulder, shuddering with tears. He felt bad for getting his shirt wet, but there wasn't much he could do.
They stayed for a while, Massimo rubbing small circles on the boys back. When Albertos neck was sore from the way he was straining it. And when he felt stable and tired and a little sweaty, he broke away.
"Thank you, Massimo," he said, though it didn't come close to conveying how he felt.
Massimo just nodded, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
"You know what I used to do with Guilia when she had a bad day?"
"What?" Alberto said, suddenly eager. Stories from Massimo were a rare and treasured thing.
"This." And suddenly large, warm, hands were scribbling all over Albertos tummy.
"Ah! Ahah! Mahahahsihihimo! Wh—Ahahah!"
Tingles exploded in Albertos torso, and he finally understood what people meant when they talked about butterflies.
"Yes?"
"Ihihit! Ihihihit TihiHihCklehehes! Hehahahaha!"
"Good."
As he squirmed helplessly under his father figures fingers, he realized that this was actually really nice.
Just laughing. Without a care in the world.
Massimo attacked Albertos ribs with a dexterity that said experience, and Alberto threw his head back with a squeal bursting into a bout of squeaky laughter.
"Ahahahah! Dahahahad! Ihihihihi—Ihihihihi Cahahahant!"
"Can't what?" Somehow Massimos quiet, blunt teasing was making Alberto more flustered.
"Ihihihihi dohohohohohnt knohohohhohhow!"
He was met with a hum and fingers creeping up into Albertos armpits, scritch-scratching with blunt nails.
Alberto screeched before dissolving into boisterous laughter. His arms crashed down and he wiggled around like some kind of teen-boy-fish-worm.
"WAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAAH—DAHAHAHAHAHAD!"
"Yes?"
"GEHEHEHEHT OHOHOHOUT! AHAHAHA!"
"I'm stuck."
"NAHAHAHAHA! DOHOHOHOHOHONT TEHEHEHEHAHASE!"
Massimo remained there a moment longer, before relenting. Instead, he brought his fingers up to skitter around Albertos neck and ears. Giggles poured out of Albertos mouth and he shook his head back and forth with mirth.
"Mhmhmh! Fahahahah! Ihihihihi—Ahahahaha!" Alberto didn't know what he was trying to say, but whatever it was it was beyond lost in translation. His brain was fizzling with giggles and butterflies.
If his eyes weren't squeezed shut with laughter, Alberto wouldve seen how Massimo was smiling down at him as if he were the most amazing thing in the world.
Massimo's fingers slowed, and Alberto caught his breath.
"You must be hungry."
"Yehe—" Alberto cleared his throat, "Yeah, I guess I am." He was still giggly and smiling with pink cheeks.
"Dinner is done." Massimo said, before getting up and offering a hand to the boy. Alberto took it, and was shocked to find himself not letting go after he was up.
"I...I love you papá," Alberto said, wearing an expression that looked so fragile, that Massimo was almost afraid to say anything at all.
"I love you too son. Don't forget."

character, Massimo
Tumblr media
So, this week, we showed Cora the new Pixar movie "Luca", and one thing I really want to talk about was this character, Massimo.
As you can see, he's only got one arm, and I have to say, it was one of the best portrayals of a character with a disability in a film that I've seen, especially a kids' movie.
Why is that, you ask?
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
1. His disability isn't the focus of his character. It's barely even mentioned at all, in fact, aside from a short (and necessary) explanation of what happened. Even better, it’s treated as totally natural. We can recognize he's disabled without needing to have a whole bunch of back story or exposition on it
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
2. He's shown leading an exceptionally normal life. Often, disabled characters are turned into mythical "Supercrips", who have to do AMAZING things — usually so the able-bodied audience can feel good about the character. This is called "Inspiration porn" and it's stupid.
This guy? He's a just a Dad, raising his daughter. We don't need the movie to talk at length about how he cooks and works and loves his daughter
*despite a disability*.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
You know why?
Because that's not actually a thing. It's just called cooking and working and loving.
He's not portrayed as an object of pity or some mythical hero. He just lives his life, with one arm. That's the thing about disability, to me at least. It's there, it exists, and we don't ignore it. But it doesn't need to define anyone.

How well do, respectively, Luca, Alberto and Giulia handle themselves in a fight in their civilian form?
PS Have you ever imagined the Underdogs being fans of Bud Spencer movies?
Giulia and Alberto are by far better fighters than Luca would be in civilian form. The sibs were trained by their dad long before they were ever trusted with a Miraculous. Giulia trained under Massimo a bit longer than Alberto did, since Alberto was adopted into the family as late as 14, but Alberto tends to match her in plain strength and energy. Like I said before, Alberto is the heavy hitter while Giulia is the strategist.
Luca didn't have any prior training before becoming part of their team, so he still has a lot to learn about fighting, but even before he ever got involved with the Miraculous, he was one of the best runners in their school and was an expert at using his surroundings to his advantage. It's only a matter of time before he catches up to his teammates.
I'm sorry, I have no clue what Bud Spencer movies are, so I don't know.
Update: I did some minimal googling, and I think Bud Spencer movies are comedies from the time period (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), in which case, I imagine Luca and Alberto would loudly laugh over them while Giulia would roll her eyes and try to ignore them until she was inevitably sucked in.

(Emotional Fatigue)
Part 50 of Sofia AU
CW: Talk about suicide (after the fact)
Federico is talking to the kid, explaining what happened. Xanxus knows Fede was dreading the conversation, he even knows that Sofia wanted to be the one to do it and Federico was going to let her. But Xanxus put his foot down, Sofia is far too triggered by the whole thing and Federico needs to see with his own eyes just what the fuck he did. Sofia will talk to the kid later and Xanxus won't fight it, he's accepted it to the point that the kid has a room ready for him in the castle. There's no way they're giving the kid up to Sawada after all of this, no way Sofia would let that stand. That kid, however, is growing under Xanxus' eye. Sofia is going to be angry when she finds out but… Xanxus won't take the option away from her but he's going to do his best to make it unnecessary. His father doesn't care, Xanxus knows what the man thinks but baby Sawada will. Federico needs an heir and Bianca, as nice as she is, can't provide one.
So Xanxus will plot, he'll do what he needs to do. Sofia will be angry, she'll pout but at the end of the day, it'll give her some security and Xanxus knows she understands where he stands in that regard.
In his arms, Sofia stirs, nuzzling him gently. "You're thinking too loudly."
"Sorry," Xanxus rubs her back. "I'm stressed out."
Sofia chuffs for him, sleepy and tired but awake enough to shift them so she can sit on his lap. "This entire trip has been a mess."
"Sawada fucked up and now we're stuck dealing with his mess." Xanxus isn't amused in the slightless. "Massimo and Enrico are talking with dad and Sawada respectively. We need to figure out funerary arrangements." The woman deserves that much consideration, at least. And baby Sawada needs closure.
"Ah," Sofia deflates, shivering when Xanxus sits up to press her against his chest. "This is awful."
"I know," Xanxus kisses her cheek and breathes her in. "I'm sorry I didn't back you up as much as I could have."
"No, I…" Sofia pulls away, staring at her lap for a moment. "I knew where she was heading the moment I met her, I don't think there was much we could have done by then but… I wanted this time to be different," she shrugs, baring her throat so he can scent her. "I knew I was over-investing. I knew it wouldn't end well."
Xanxus rolls them over, one hand on her hip and the other one on her cheek. "I still should have backed you up. That it wouldn't end well regardless isn't an excuse, Sof."
Sofia pulls him into a kiss, keeping him in place with her arms around his shoulders. "I forgive you," she kisses him again. "I want to go home."
He's pretty sure that she doesn't really think Xanxus should apologize but he lets it be, it's her apology to take or ignore. "I'll get us there as soon as I can." Xanxus leans in, sucking a mark over the mating bite. "We need to go back to Namimori first, however. Or I do, if you want you can go back home first."
But she's already shaking her head, "I want to stay with you. Why back to Namimori? Are we picking up the body?"
"That, too." Xanxus doesn't hide his grimace. "The Hibari." He traces a finger over her furrowed brow, "we have their heir and Fede is growing tired by the mother's demands. Without any more family there, it's easier to give notice. We're finalizing the alliance, it's no longer necessary and it's become more of a nuisance."

Sneak Peek from Family Fusion
As the eggs were sizzling on the stove, Alberto yawned and said, “You snore really loud, it woke up your animal.” Massimo laughed and scratched his pet as he told Alberto that Machiavelli was a cat.
“My Dad told me about cats! I never realized that they were this big and mean looking though. Have you seen a dog? My dad says that they are a human's best friend!” Alberto said while reaching to pet Machiavelli like Massimo was.
Chapter 5 will be posted on AO3 this weekend! See you soon!

*   𓋒   caro @seamonsterchild : Luca skips over to Alberto and sat down on his lap, leaning his body against his. "Ciao, Alberto. How are you today?" He sighed contently and rested his head on his shoulder
Tumblr media
Alberto can already feel his chest tightening and the fish swimming in his stomach. No matter how many displays of affection they have shared before this, it never seizes to cause his heart to race against his ribcage. He loves Luca like he has never been allowed to love anybody before.
There is no protests here when Luca sits on his lap. Only red cheeks and the stuttering of his heart. Finally words come to him.
Tumblr media
*   𓋒   ❝ Ciao, Luca! I’m doing GREAT! ❞ His life always had to sound exciting else he fears he may lose points in being Luca’s best friend.  ❝ ...BUT nowthatyou’rehereit’sperfectO! ❞ It comes out faster than he had anticipated, still stumbling over words and trying to control all the messy feelings of love and admiration. If he could he would have shouted his love for Luca off of the top of the Pescheria or even Mount Portorosso. He leans his head on Luca’s shoulder, content.
Tumblr media
Massimo had given him the day off so he could spend it with Luca so he was more than happy that Luca had found him at the edge of the water fountain, drawing pictures of himself and Luca. There’s still a pencil in one hand and paper in the other as he wraps his arms around Luca.  ❝ Dad said I could take the day off, you know, spend it with you? ❞
