Max learns the actor that gave him night terrors as a kid is actually his most favorite fantasy creature from when he was a kid.

I've spent about a week or so researching Asian roles in Cinema in the early 19th century because I love research and I love learning.

It's actually quite interesting, Asian actors would have to fight tooth and nail to get half decent parts only for the roles to be offensive or derogatory to their culture and heritage-and the reaction from the Asian American Community was so negative that they actually got up and made their OWN film company-Asian films made by Asian people. And it was a MASSIVE success across the board. Really said if you wanna do something right, you gotta do it yourself.

They were called The Great Wall Film Company, if you wanna glance at it's short wikipedia. They also pioneered some interesting animation.

There are a lot of Shrines in New Chicago; it's a real melting pot of every culture and faith you can think of. If you want somewhere to pray, experience religion, culture or pay tribute to an ancestor-you just gotta skip around a corner and it's gonna be there.

Max used to go to a public Shrine when he was a kid with his dad and his brother-but stopped after they died. He canonically used to pat their noses as they appeared as large stone dogs. And believe it or not-this couple is very excited that he's come back despite their faces

Everyone, this is Yu Ming. Yu Ming. This is everyone.

Recently I decided I wanna make a character who is a Huli Jing-a Chinese Fox Spirit (Cousin of the Kitsune, Kumiho and other Eastern fox entities.) They're sometimes helpful, sometimes not so helpful, creatures that coexist with mortals and are quite beautiful.

I want to try and avoid any kind of specific hard tropes related to Asian Women of the time period she's in-which has resulted in her sort of being a very beautiful woman who is also very very silly. She's like if Maxim actually got a real secretary to take calls and type down notes for him; except she's scared of the type writer cause it 'shrieked' at her and keeps telling people who call to 'stop calling'. She also does a number of fox like things; such as chase after bugs, make a sound to a car starting up when she's excited, and uses her big tail to keep herself warm.

I’m finally off school and I want to draw MAX. I miss Max. I want to make more Max content again. But his stupid fucking hair causes me such PROBLEMS.

(I struggled on the flag because there’s a lot of different Jewish flags because there’s a lot of different versions it seems to represent everyone from different areas. I went for the Ashkenazi Flag, which represents people from the slavic/germanic area. Think Poland, Ukraine, Russia, those areas.)

Maxim Tentrill-the poster boy of the 'I'll be careful' lie. The 'Fuck you' reply when told to drive safe. And then proceeds to somehow wrap a car around a tree.

It's not that he doesn't TRY, it's just that problems keep finding HIM.

What is Ledago reaction to Max coming to him badly injured?

Okay so for starters Max would NEVER go over to Ledago's when injured. Ledago is severely Agoraphobic; he hasn't left his apartment/place of work in YEARS due to it and seeing Max injured and hurt would just reinforce the irrational anxiety driven fear in his mind that the outside IS BAD and scary and probably set him back in any progress. He'd be fearful, flustered, worried, panicky, might even hyperventilate a bit because Ledago cares immensely for Max and doesn't want bad things to happen to him.

Especially with the fact that Max is afraid of hospitals and would most likely stay in his apartment and lick his wounds rather than seek MEDICAL TREATMENT.

Ledago: It's like owning the world's worst FERRET, YOU NEVER LET ANYONE KNOW YOU'RE SICK AND INJURED UNTIL YOU'RE PRACTICALLY DYING ON THE FLOOR.

Max: Yes but ain't I charmin for it?
