We find those occasional friends - literally, friends from an occasion - hard to explain to outsiders. Convention and Faire and show friendships burn brief and intense, and regularly, over and over again. I may only see you three or four times a year, at most, but for those handfuls of hours, we cluster together, following the magnetic singing in our breastbones calling us back, and you are essential.
A post for my birthday. And hey, if you like essays, queer poetry, and short stories, $1 gets you the entirety of my first novel (edited by @thebibliosphere, even) and at least one book's worth of poems, and you get to add some predictability to my life. It's nice to know that Patreon money will always pay a few bills at the start of the month.
