Black In Fashion 2021
Tumblr media
Black In Fashion Only black is the new black: a cultural history of fashion’s favorite shade When the group Time’s Up encouraged all actresses and actors who would walk the Golden Globes red carpet to dress in a show of solidarity against sexual harassment of women in Hollywood and other workplaces, the color it asked them to wear was black. On Jan. 30, a group of women in the US congress followed their lead, donning black for the first state of the union address by president Trump, who has himself been accused by numerous women of sexual misconduct. There is nothing about black that inherently signifies protest, but really no other shade would have sent so clear a message. There’s a reason country legend Johnny Cash also chose to wear black as a reminder to Americans of the everyday injustices in their midst. Black clothing has an undeniable power. Unlike red or green, which represent specific wavelengths of light, black isn’t exactly a color; it’s what we see when an object absorbs all visible wavelengths, putting it in a category by itself. Its singular darkness has a unique visual potency, and its adaptability has long made it open to interpretation by the numerous groups that have adopted it. Black connotes seriousness and diligence, as in the black worn by religious orders. It can be sinister or rebellious, like the black cloaks of witches or the black leather jackets worn by biker gangs. In many cultures, it’s the color of mourning. But it can simultaneously be the epitome of chic and sophistication, yet charged with eroticism. All these qualities have given black a distinctive position in fashion enjoyed by no other color. The Little Purple Dress is not famous. “Yellow tie” is not a recognized dress code. Only black will ever be the new black. Black is in Among the endless variety of colors and combinations that fashion retailers stock, black is a perennially popular choice. In a recent analysis of more than 183,000 dresses retailing online in the US, retail technology firm Edited found that about 38.5% were some shade of black, making it by far the most common color available. Only about 10.7% of dresses came in the second-most popular shade, white. EDITED Edited’s representation of the dress colors currently retailing online in the US. At the moment, black’s popularity also appears to be surging. According to Edited’s data, black dresses sold out in far greater numbers in the first few weeks of January 2018 than during the same period last year. Edited did point to Time’s Up having an effect, though it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what’s fueling the trend, since an increase in the availability of black clothing online predates the movement. From the third quarter of 2014 to the same time in 2017, Edited found that black clothing for women grew substantially at a number of fast-fashion brands—by 269% at Boohoo, 145% at Zara, 114% at H&M, and 89% at Forever 21. Katie Smith, the firm’s retail analysis & insights director, attributed it to the brands “using black to try and establish longevity of their ranges, and appeal to a wider customer base.” The numbers speak to the breadth and endurance of black’s appeal. It works with every skin tone, every body type, and is generally a safe choice for a purchase—because even if demand for it ebbs, it never goes out of style. AP PHOTO/FRANCOIS MORI Naomi Campbell in classic black on the Louis Vuitton fall-winter 2018 runway. A cultural history There’s no official start to the modern popularity of black in European and American women’s fashion. Historically it’s been a signifier of grief, dating back to at least the ancient Greeks. But it has also been widely coveted for its appearance. In his book The Story of Black, critic John Harvey notes that, though the Romans principally dyed clothing black for mourning, there are indications they prized it for its stylishness. In the 16th century, there was a vogue for black clothing—then notoriously expensive (pdf)—among Europe’s wealthy, from Spanish nobility in the south to Dutch merchants in the north. But a convenient turning point in black’s more recent reign arrived around the early 20th century. That, Harvey writes, is when black “came to centre stage.” The spotlight fell squarely on it in 1926, with the introduction of Chanel’s famed little black dress. THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART/MARTIN SECK An array of Little Black Dresses from the Museum of Modern Art’s “Items: Is Fashion Modern?” exhibit. Just prior to that period, black was the standard uniform color for domestic servants and the “shopgirls” who staffed retail shop floors. Social norms, however, were losing their trappings of formality. Sportswear was beginning its rise, and hemlines already climbing higher, as young society women moved away from eras of lavish, restrictive gowns. Shelley Puhak describes in The Atlantic how the upper classes co-opted the easy, modern shopgirl style for themselves. “By the early 1900s, socialites who wanted to appear especially youthful and edgy donned little black dresses,” she writes. When Vogue put a sketch of Chanel’s simple, practical black dress on its cover in 1926, calling it “The Ford” of a woman’s wardrobe, it seemed to make official a new era in women’s clothing. It also promoted black as smart, elegant, attractive. AFP/GETTY IMAGES Coco Chanel lounging in black in 1944. In addition to fashion, black had another powerful force helping it to stand out: film. “The other great promoter of the Little Black Dress was the camera, especially the movie camera,” art and costume historian Anne Hollander wrote in her excellent 1984 essay (pdf). A novel world of entertainment, romance, and movie stars was opening up to an eager public—all in black-and-white. The brilliance of black Black’s effect on the eye gives it an irresistible visual appeal. “A black dress seems to make the body neater and smaller and to unify the parts,” Hollander declares. “Since many bodies are not slim and lack either perfect harmony or absolute coordination, a black dress can help give them that delicious resemblance to a stretch limousine that seems so desirable in the present fashion climate.” Yet black has a remarkable tendency to be distinctive without overshadowing the wearer, in a sense amplifying the person. Hollander points to a scene in Anna Karenina, where Anna attends a ball. Tolstoy describes another woman, Kitty, remarking on her black gown. She realizes that Anna could not have worn lilac, that she was most alluring when she stood out from her clothing. “And the black dress with luxurious lace was not seen on her;” Tolstoy writes, “it was just a frame, and only was she seen.” While it’s not exactly analogous, a recent study of male birds-of-paradise reveals an intriguingly similar power in their black plumage. The birds are well-known for their bobbing courtship dance, but according to the researchers, it’s actually their coloring that determines their success in mating. The mostly black birds raise their wings to form a light-absorbing field, causing their other colors to appear all the more brilliant. “The juxtaposition of darkest black and colors create to bird and human eyes what is essentially an evolved optical illusion,” explained Harvard University evolutionary biologist Dakota McCoy. “This study shows us that black makes us glow.” On male humans, black is often seen as dignified and levelheaded. In his Book of the Courtier, a sort of guide to life in the aristocratic courts of Renaissance Italy, Count Baldassare Castiglione states that black is the preferred color for a man, or at least something dark. Harvey points out in The Story of Black that black has been the standard for men’s evening wear since the 1810s, in large part thanks to the advocacy of Beau Brummell. The name may be familiar to some men. He’s widely considered the inventor of the modern men’s suit and a sort of founding father of contemporary menswear. AP PHOTO Sean Connery on the set of the James Bond movie “You Only Live Twice” in 1966. Black’s hold on high-fashion AP PHOTO A black chiffon cocktail dress from Balenciaga shown in 1957. In the decades since Chanel’s compact black number graced Vogue‘s cover, numerous designers have adopted and elevated black for their own purposes. Cristóbal Balenciaga used it for his elegant, architectural silhouettes, and Yves Saint Laurent for his androgynous “le smoking” women’s tuxedo. In the latter half of the 20th century, it became closely linked to fringe groups and rebellion. Bikers and beatniks donned black. Then, the Japanese design wave of Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons made a new art form of the black look. Fashion journalist Suzy Menkes asked Yamamoto what was behind his well-known predilection for black in a 2000 interview for the International Herald Tribune. Yamamoto’s response has evidently summed up the feelings of black’s devotees so well that it has circulated for some time on social networks such as Tumblr and Instagram. ”Black is modest and arrogant at the same time,” he said. “Black is lazy and easy — but mysterious….Black can swallow light, or make things look sharp. But above all black says this: ‘I don’t bother you — don’t bother me!'” Given black’s adaptability and allure, it’s little wonder it remains a popular choice for all sorts of styles today. Black-obsessed artisanal menswear designers deploy it for their exquisite leather jackets. Designers such as Ann Demeulemeester have gravitated toward its romanticism, others like Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing to its sleekness. Black colors fancy cocktail parties, and goth kids match their clothes to their black eyeliner as readily as socialites thrown on black for a night out. By all indications, its attraction isn’t diminishing. We’ll be flying the black flag for years to come. Euclid shows up....
Tumblr media
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euclid
“Use this!” he says:
Tumblr media
youtube
The error was his concern for the triangle, it”s a Triangular Prism that we need to be concerned with, however, a Conical Prism is equally, perhaps more worrisome, than the Triangular one, if left in control of Religious Terror Witches & Warlocks.
That is what the sword Euclid brought, is for. To take the head off of those pesky prisms.
Take a whack at the Conical Prism, or a Triangular One, thusly, to remove the top, so you are able to have a look at the section that becomes apparent only when a conical prism is sliced by the Ell of a sword. Then, you get to see a Conical Ellipse. There is no other way to do the math on that, in order to obtain the illusive Conical Ellipse, requires that you first obtain a Cone with which to work, a Sword with which to cut, and take a swing at the Cone, to produce an Ell, in order to see the illusive ellipse. Any pointy witch hat will do.
You, are the Sword. The Ell is the slice.
The swing, is the throw, before the toss.
Tumblr media
Take a few more whacks at it...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We have to turn it upside down and backwards to see what gender it is, Witch, or Warlock?
Keep whacking!
Google Search for: “Conical Ellipse” to learn more...
Hmmmmmm......
The thing I am looking for is not here.... where is the real ellipse at?
What have they done with the Ellipse?
Where, has it gone  to?
I don’t see it.
Gone.
?
Tumblr media
The thing I am looking for is a lopsided oval sort of squished egg shaped ellipse... the kind I remember from school.
Google is hiding it.
The only way to get one, is to slice cone on a angle, horizontally.
Like so:
Tumblr media
The problem here, is Google is only showing us a equilateral ellipse, when the magic we want, is a lopsided, non-equate ellipse.
They only are showing askewed lopsided non-equate ellipses in such a way as to provide illusion that the non-eguate variety of ellipse is presented, as an equate, mirror-image-flip-flop-backwards rendition of a rounded off pointy hat setting on a reflective surface, to ponder over, thusly, as we are doing at this juncture right here on this post entry on Tumblr.
Think about that slice. Think about that cone. You should see, in your mind’s eye, that the resulting elliptical shape should have a fat side, and a thin side at the ends where the turn-a-round takes place.
But Google refuses to show you that, they can’t survive smart people who can think, that’s why they won’t show the non-equate ellipse, by which there just one way to obtain, and that is, to cut the top off of a pointy hat on a horizontal angle.
They show this Seventh Day Adventist lesson, to teach the same idea, with a twist and a kink, at church:
Tumblr media
Start Whackin‘!
Tumblr media
You, are the sword. The Ell is the slice.
The swing, is the throw, before the toss.
You need this Honing Stone:
Tumblr media
And some Honing Oil:
Tumblr media
With those, to sharpening the Sword of your Mind’s Eye. you are ready and prepared to use this properly and effectively:
Tumblr media
They stole my Cracker Jack’s Secret Decoder Ring, so, I have to make do, with the tools I have available, like this Chex’s Decoder. That one works good for World Trade Central terror decoding.
You will gain skills necessary to use this more effectively also:
Tumblr media
That is the Real McCoy. Cracker Jack’s Secret Agent Whistle. Get one and use it.
These are indefensible:
no... these are indispensable!
(in-disposable? We are not pawns, not playthings, not blow-up toys, not inflatable mattresses)
(see, that is an example of Google controlled religion terror cult changing my words I write. I have to do edits to correct what they change, they change more while I correct that.)

Why are there buckles on a Witches Hat?
Why are there buckles on the shoes of a Pilgrim?
Factoid: Witches are only found in places where Christians are looking, so, Christians and Witches are not mutually exclusive. Only little, is spoken or written about Warlocks and where they are found. The result is non-equate spelling errors in the Text, and Tongue, of The Words, for lack of equal representation among Witches and Warlocks where they are found in Tongue and Text.
(”Tongue in Cheek” old saying English Cliche’ shows up on Decoder Ring RADAR)
Why are Santa’s helpers called “Elves”? Do the math, make the cut, swing the sword, see the result, turn it upside, and backwards, apply to History of the Sword, History of Christian Crusades, History of The Vatican Choir, Polyphony, and Soprano’s with emphasis on non-equate representation between Witches and Warlocks where they are found in Text and Tongue.
(Tongue In Groove shows up on Decoder Ring RADAR, under “Jesus was a Carpenter” and, “Long Playing ‘LP’ Vinyl 33 and 1/3 RPM Album, Recordings)
“Elves” (apply a sword) = El + V’s = LV’s = Las Vegas = Lost Wages = “Lost my Ass” = “Where is my Jack-Ass?” = Pornhub = “The View”, a show by women, for women.
(“Ellen” TV Show shows up on Decoder Ring RADAR)
Scroll the bottom to watch off of Google RADAR within this post entry, and for more in depth explanation about this Fleetwood Mac performance on the Ellen Show:
[ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VElI89y_-QI ] --------------------------------------------------------------------
Elves = Santa’s Helpers. But you have to turn it around backwards, and upside down, to see what gender it is.
“Elves” = El V’s = L V’s = The V’s = The Five....
Hmmm....
Elves = L V’s = The Vatican’s. (this goes on forever into the Russian Mother of all Hoaxes, you could keep doing math eternally, but without a cone, and a sword to start with, there is no way to see that the math is not equal when the Ell is applied with the sword on the cone. Google tries desperately to hide the non-equate ellipse. (see Japanese Pornography to learn more about suppression of non-equate ellipses in favor of more equate ones.)
Ellipse = E + L Lips (phonetically) = “Power God Lips” = (play the turn-a-round) “God’s Power Lips” = “non-equate horizontally askew conical section”
(fast-forward to Cancer) Apply “Cone Cervical Slice” for Russian Fractal View considerations.
It’s not possible to stop Christian Cult Global terror without getting dirty while doing so.
You must turn the Gain Knob to full maximum on your Guitar, Axman’s (Ax-Person’s) Rig. Even then, you are going to need an Ibanez Tube Screamer Effect Peddle, even if you already have a Marshall Plexi 100 Watt Head with 1960, AND 1960A Slant, speaker cabinets loaded with Celestian Greenbacks.
If you cannot obtain the Ibanez, there are many high gain effect peddles to choose from, but make sure you start with a search for the Ibanez Tube Screamer, so that you have the necessary Samurai training for using a Sword to produce an Ell, to make the cut, that will expose the Dirty Little Secret of the Vatican, Google, and Rock & Roll. Steer clear of the Russian Pickle.
The Wicken must begin Whakin‘, but definition of “Wicken” seems to be a guarded secret, while the Wicken are left unguarded.

Think of all of that, as “Allah and the Virgins, Live at Red Rocks, featuring Joe Bonamassa as the opening act, with a cameo by Amos Moses, the Little Brother of the Pope’s Flying V.

6:01 pm:
Here, on Ellen, at the end, at the 5:00 mark.
Ellen mentions that there are two new Fleetwood Mac Members.
Stevie Nicks introduces them, unexcitedly, kinda mechanical introduction. looks like to me.
Ellen says everyone in the studio audience is going to be given complimentary tickets to upcoming Fleetwood Mac Shows.
Stevie says “the next live show is in first week of October, details sound sketchy at best, not too sure, have to check the calendar of events, to make sure” sort of, loosely translated.
The Ellen Show Video was posted to YouTube one year and four days after the Mandalay Bay Concert 91 Las Vegas Shooting. Has a “Anniversary” vibe going on.
Those two new guys that were introduced, seem to represent “January and February Secret Knowledge about the raping and theft of the Old Ten Month Calendar” that no one knows about. I see them as two “Blood Moons”, stuck at the end of that Old Calendar, rather than the beginning where they really were introduced as a cover operation 2021 years ago, this week when the Christians seem to have initialized the Pirating they are still doing currently.
Questions:
“When was the airing of this Ellen episode?”
“What was the actual film date at the sound stage studio w/live audience?”
The Ellen episode has “Time Warp Terror” qualities. I suggest that the episode aired a year after it was filmed in studio. I suggest that Ellen knows everything there is to know about Mandalay Bay and Concert 91 “shooting” event in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017. I suggest that the studio audience participated in some way at the Concert 91 October 1 2017 event in Las Vegas.
I suggest that Ellen Degenerous is located at 535 Jackpine Drive Grants Pass Oregon 97526 right now, at the Janice Freeberg residence, as I write this Tumblr entry today, January 2, 2021. I suspect Ellen is portraying Janice Freeberg to fool federal officers assigned to Jackpine activity.
I’ve seen Ellen Degenerous at the Freeberg’s before, driving Janice’s Ford F-250 crew cab diesel pick-up truck, white, old, worn out truck.
This video goes deep into a rabbit hole of danger. I smell Agent Rabner, who I think is a Medford FBI officer, associated with the cover up of Las Vegas Concert 91 fake shooting, all done here in Grants Pass Oregon, where the event fake shooting was rehearsed throughout the city and county area.
If Rabner, then also the Veterans Administration Facility on HWY 62, Crater Lake HWY somewhere near Medford, or White City Oregon, is involved. Where Rabner goes, so goes that place.
“Degenerous” = “When you use a xerox machine to copy an original, then, use the copy to make another copy, of the copy, of the original, then use the copy of the copy to make a copy of the copy of the copy of the original.... etc, and so on... eternally, until the original is no longer recognizable in the forthcoming barrage of stacked copies = Degenerous”.
“Ellen” = “El en” = “The en‘ “ =  “The End” = “God’s End” = Eternity.
God’s End = “Total Anal eye eh? shun” (Canadian Dialect Vatican Speak, w/Celestian Greenback’s x four, or combination of any Greenback’s w/Creamback Celestian speakers, Open Back Cabinet specification produces less punchy bass, at high volume levels, w/parallel vs serial wiring options available, so, Ann Wilson is also nearby, or not far up the command chain from Ellen, for real, right now. Also, open back specs produces maximum diaphragm travel at the drivers in two directions from center due to absence of internal back pressure. [see positive crank case ventilation, internal combustion motors, PCV Valve, about 3lb’s. pressure is nominal for that] with addition of phase shift, the Ellen becomes a binary event that can go in unpredictable directions, extreme danger, caution advised)
Also, the introduction of “Two new guys” at the “5:00 Mark” is notable that “Five Minutes” is Universally understood in all languages globally that “Someone is going to get fucked, a quickie”.
Those new guys might be in deep yogurt there.
Universal Studios already hijacked and stole all of the “Universally Understood Languages”, so, that further supports what I already have been saying that NBC, Universal, Comcast, are the producers, engineers, actors, murderers.... “terror army giant size cell”... who are responsible for carrying out the Concert 91 attack, one that gained hospitals and enormous casinos for the terror army’s addition to their SAG collection of spoils of war, and more, w/Bonus of Lot’s of Souls to add to the Pope’s ever growing collection of those.

More:
Here, at US Festival (I was there too), at 8:00 mark, Stevie begins to go out into the audience, a place she does not go often, there are some security, very young “edge of seventeen“ looking fellows, who form a “Football Defense Line”. Stevie plays either as Center, or as Quarter Back, maybe as both symbolically. She is protected, by a symbolic advance towards her, as she is “holding her ground“ there, on “the shoulders of edge of seventeen”.
youtube
Tumblr media
You could say stuff, and keep on saying for a long time about small details of what happened, not only in the audience, but also as she sort of “Bunny Hops” her way to the edge of the stage where she motions that she wants go out there. She is wearing tall heals, yet is firm on her feet while hopping from the levels of the stage. There is a lot of “Russian Whore Meets Markus” story telling going on, Stevie appears to me as a captive slave to the British Entertainment industry.
I rarely defend any entertainers, but I see the Stevie Nicks is extraordinary in a number of ways, as is Ozzy Osbourne, but the two are nothing alike one another, they both seem as slaves to me. Ozzy, was punished for whatever it was that pissed off his captors when they gave the “Prince of Darkness” a TV show, cameras everywhere in his house, millions of people watching. So much for Darkness, eh?
So, I want to suggest that Stevie is a slave, she is forced to sing the songs where the terror messages are built into for Fleetwood Mac as a Pirate Ships Captain giving musical orders to terror soldiers in the field.
I don‘t have an opinion about the other band members, other than knowing that many of the famous guitarists are trained by the Vatican at the Choir, so that is something to consider.
There in that photo above, Stevie stands on a speaker cabinet, seems to use it as a “Soap Box”.
It’s more than likely that I am just a sucker, am wrong, being fooled with Hokus Pokus, but that does not change the focus.
“The clouds never expect it when it rains But the sea changes colours But the sea does not change So with the slow, graceful flow of age I went forth with an age old desire to please On the edge of seventeen”
The See, does not change.
“The Pope’s change from time to time, but the Jim Dunlop, is always the Jim Dunlop.” ~self quoted.
Online lyrics for that song say:
“Just like the White Wing Dove”
I hear:
“Just like a One Wing Dove”, and I always have heard it like that.
An injured dove, caged, maimed, can‘t fly, is crying, everyone thinks the bird is singing.... “Ohhh , baby, ohh, ohhh”
That is more reason I feel she is a victim.
I am not a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac, I do like the music, but had I been a huge fan, I would have seen these signals long ago, maybe I did see and write about it the same way before, it all seems so:
“Hauntingly familiar”

8:41 pm:
Edge of Seventeen has a lot going on in the lyric and live presentation, no one has ever survive long enough after knowing what it’s about to find any help to stop the madness. The song is about a three percent taking of victims at a venue, any venue where people gather, are drawn to in numbers.
There is a place in the song where “Suddenly. there was no one left standing in the hall”. That is the taking at the concert, Dio style, with a Bloomberg twist.
This part here quoted below, is the result of the Three Percent Taking of victims, where three percent of the audience was killed, their ID’s processed, look-a-like replacements take their place in life at the homes of the victims, and the Vote for SAG Shills on ballots, which is the whole point of why so many people are being slaughtered.
This part in the song is heavy on the back-up singers in duplicated harmonizing delay/echo sort of back up repetition, and is the orders from On-High at Trudeau/ Ann Wilson terror command HQ in Hollywood/Quebec. The duplicated back-up singers who follow Stevie’s lead vocal, are the replacements, symbolically, and are going to be Voting, at the Landslide that follows the Edge of Seventeen. All of the information necessary to stop that from occurring is here on this account... there is enough information here to stop 90% of all of the terrorism on Earth if there were some Global Security persons who are willing and prepared to apply the information towards ending terror, and beginning peaceful existence.
“Well I hear you in the morning And I hear you at nightfall Sometimes to be near you Is to be unable to feel you, my love I'm a few years older than you (I'm a few years older than you) my love”
=================================
9:03 pm:
Why is it called a “Landslide” if a candidate wins an election due to overwhelming popularity?
Because the news media needed a workable label for talking about elections covertly within a news story about a mudslide after a rain, or other Tectonic Plate sized terror controlled earth moving done by terror soldiers who get their marching orders from newsmedia about voting orders, details, updates.
Because Landslide is a earthly word, so is is terra cotta, it’s all about terrain, ground, mud, green grass, when the high tides allow access to hard to reach ports of entry, at the voting booth where the landslide is indeed the county side slipping away one family at a time.
So again, Fleetwood Mac demonstrates their place in the terror command Chain.
We need to find out if Stevie Nicks is a scapegoat set up to take a fall in event of terror meltdown, or, if she is just another terrorist bitch killing US Citizens.
Make her wear a pointy hat, tell her Euclid is here, wants to talk to her about ellipses, Top Hats, Flying V’s, and stacks of Marshall’s... bring a sword. see if she wears the hat, or starts to sing.

Local Update:
It’s quiet and drizzly outside, is warmer than has been in some time.
A walk to the mailbox presented my DMV Registration tags I sent for last October. I was sent an 8 and 1/2 x 11 inch peice of paper to tape onto the car in lieu of the real tags, and an explanation that Oregon ran out of tags to send to those who had re-registered their cars, and, that due to COVID, all of the DMV offices are closed down indefinitely. So, that is good news, I don‘t have to be concerned about the Paper Police telling me I taped the paper in the wrong place, however, they will find some other thing to terrorize me with, that is why the tags showed up.
Electric bill came today, I will be needing to mortgage the house to pay it.
My vision is very poor today, and more than once I felt as though I was going to fall over due to vertigo. There are solid particles in my eyes again, but I have not encountered anyone today to my recollection that could have put the glass dust in my eyes.
That Dietrick trash can has the lid on it now, but the can is still there.
There are unusual lighting conditions all around the area with lighting on the houses in places that I don‘t recall seeing lights on before, since all of that is terror communication, it’s something I try to look at, if only to determine normal from abnormal.
Unusual interior lights at Monroe Offensive Surveillance Travel Trailer at the entry.
At Myers, I can see that yard from where my car is parked. It’s not terrebly unusual to see literally every light in every room at the house all lit up at once for days or weeks in a row. Tonight there is a Half of all of the lights in the house” turned on. Terror SDA will turn on many lights at their homes making illusion that they are there, when reality is that they are out on attack. That condition is done a lot here, so that when take a walk and see that so many lights are on somewhere, I just assume that the people are there, and are not sneaking up behind me with a sword, only to find that there is someone sneaking up behind me with a sword while I am taking a walk to the mail.
A single solitary bright light bulb at Myers that is visible in a window from the road tells me things are abnormal there at Myers.
That green lightbulb at the roadside at Freebergs tells me things are unusual at Freebergs. Had there been a string of wadded up blue lights at the roadside in a bush and on, that would be normal.
There are some very unusual lighting happening on the hillside to the east at the top of the hill. Lots of bright house lights up there, not holiday lights, but looks like internal lights in the windows at places that don‘t normally have any lights on at all. normal would be one bright bulb on at the house with the balcony that is in line with and overlooks Jackpine from there, pretty much all other lighting up in that neighborhood is not usually present.
Dietrick’s has the wrong yellow house light turned on, something is abnormal there.
Clyde Baum’s place is kinda too far to make assessments, but one thing that can be said is that there is “Old normal” that ended about two months ago, and there is “new normal” that started to happen there with lighting habits at night.
It’s still dark at Bell’s 445. There was one interior light on last time I walked down the road last week, I can‘t see it unless I go towards Chartrand’s, so I don‘t have reason to go over there, and it’s too dangerous for a leisure stroll to the big pond on Jess Way were I used to enjoy taking a walk to many years ago, there were some giant size toads in that pond last time I went that far, about fifteen years ago, fun to watch them.
I did not see any holiday lighting with exception of that one string around Myers front door that has been there for some time.
520 were Mystery Pot Grower Lady was at, is not all dark, but is mostly dark, as per usual. There is a light in a room that I can see immediately when I step outside about 500 feet away, it’s always on, been on for more than two years, never turns off. There is a small glowing light on the ground in the driveway there that is unusual, can be seen from the road. 520 is famous for use of small, blue glowing lights, many of them arranged in a pattern in strange places. I have seen those placed on the roof of a storage/utility building there just for a day or two, then they move to somewhere else, or are gone. I counted eleven of them once inside of a black Volvo station wagon that is or was there. The blue glowing lights are the size of a smart phone screen. To see so many in a Volvo was weird, considering that the Volvo has not gone anywhere for about two years. That night was the night when Prince Charles Windsor was on the road with a Royal Guard, and Elizabeth was walking on my driveway when I returned from fighting with the guard, and Charles, about one year ago. Elizabeth’s hat was in my woods after that for some time. I did not want to touch that, toxic big time to have that hat in your hand, bad enough that it was in my woods. I can‘t think of anything that is much more toxic to have than the Queen‘s hat, it’s about as toxic as the head of Harry. That is pretty darn toxic.
That said, no help has come. If helpful people are around, I don‘t see them, none have bothered to speak with me, there have been no incoming telephone calls from any one since Christmas that I answered, and only one other call that I did not answer from that fake doctors at Pain Specialists of Southern Oregon terror cell SAGClubMed and MedDems terror highly offensive murderous bastards, who called and left a message, that I have not retrieved. There has been no email communication, carrier pidgeon, smoke signal, message in a bottle, genie, or note of any kind left somewhere where I might find one. It’s been more than ten years since I had a conversation with anyone other than a store clerk about the cost of groceries and the price of shopping, with exception of a call from fake family every six months or so, interfered by others manipulating the calls with electronics at some remote terror controlled location.

Chris shook his head and looked across the desk at his boyfriend. “How much longer before they really start to question Leonard’s past Phil? You have to do something. Jim’s inquisitive by nature he’s going to start digging eventually.”
“I know Chris. I think I’ve got it worked out. You remember Donna?”
“Yeah. She was one of my kids. I always liked her.”
Phil smiled across the table, “She’s about to meet her big brother.”
“Just how are you going to pull that off?”
“She’s been looking for her brother.”
Chris stood up and walked around the desk. He put a hand to Phil’s forehead and sighed. “You don’t feel feverish.”
“Chris, I know her brother died as a baby. That was after they gave him up. The records are gone anyway. She wouldn’t be able to find him. This way Leonard gets a family and Donna gets her brother.”
“It’s a little dishonest Phil.”
“Would you rather see her heartbroken?”
“You know I wouldn’t.”
“Then get. I have some calls to make.”
Jim sulked around the apartment for the next couple of days. He was quiet and more subdued than normal. Leonard wasn’t sure what was wrong but he thought he had an idea.
“Jim?” He asked poking his head out the balcony door after lunch. “Are you okay?”
“Mhmm. Fine.”
He opened the door wider and stepped out onto the balcony. “No you aren’t.”
“Bones…”
Leonard stepped over to the railing beside him and looked out over the park. “Jim. Is this because of the other day?”
Jim looked down at his hands and opened his mouth to speak when the phone in Leonard’s pocket went off. “You should answer that. Might be important.” Jim said as he turned and walked back in the apartment.
Sighing Leonard pulled the phone out of his pocket and answered it. “Hello?”
“Leonard McCoy?”
“Speaking.”
“I can’t believe I found you.”
“Can you hold on a minute?”
“Of course.”
Muting the phone he walked back inside sliding the door shut behind him. “Jim? Can you come here please?”
The bedroom door opened and Jim came out. “Yeah?”
“There’s a woman on the phone that seems to know me. What do I do? What do I say? Do I tell her I lost my memory?”
Jim crossed the room and put his hands on Leonard’s shoulders. “Breathe. Okay? Who is she?”
Leonard glanced down and the phone and shook his head slowly, “I didn’t ask…”
“Ask her what her name is and we’ll go from there.”
“Could you do it?”
Jim shook his head, “You need to do it. She called you.”
Leonard hesitated and stared at his phone in silence.
“Put her on speaker and if you really need my help I can take over. Okay?”
“Okay.”
Jim smiled reassuringly and slipped his hand in Leonard’s “I’m right here.”
Taking a deep breath Leonard unmuted the phone and switched it to speaker. “Are you still there?”
“Yes, I’m here. Have I called at a bad time?”
“Sorry about that miss…?”
“Please call me Donna.”
“How did you get my number?”
“The agency gave it to me. Said they would call you that week. I had hoped you’d call me but when I read about your accident in the paper...of course I only just saw that. How are you?”
“I’m good.”
“I’m so glad to hear that. I hope this not insensitive of me but do you have any lasting injuries from it?”
Leonard frowned and looked at Jim who shook his head and mouthed “No.”
“No I don’t.”
“Wonderful! I have to say we are so proud of you for what you did for that man.”
“We?”
“Mama and I. Daddy would have been so proud of you too. He was a doctor you know.”
“No...I didn’t. Umm...there is something that the paper didn’t mention...something that happened because of the accident. I lost my memory of everything prior to a few months before the accident…”
“Oh my gosh! I am so sorry.” She paused for a moment and then said, “You don’t know who I am do you?”
“No ma’am.”
“Leonard, I’m your little sister.”
Jim snorted loudly and bit his lip to stifle his laughter.
“Are you okay?”
Leonard reached over and punched Jim in the arm, “Yeah. Sorry that was my b…”
“Best friend! Hi, I’m Jim!”
Leonard frowned at Jim who shook his head mouthing “later”.
After a few more minutes conversation with Donna and arranging to meet her at the museum Leonard hung up the phone.
“That wasn’t so hard was it?”
Leonard stared at him, “Best friend? I thought...I thought we were more than that?”
“We are. It’s just that we don’t really know her. We should call that agency and ask about your paperwork. I want to be sure you get a chance to get to know these people if they really are your family. Gauge what they are like. Will they be open to your lifestyle?”
“So it’s not because of what I did the other day?”
Jim smiled and wrapped an arm around him. “Absolutely not. In fact I was a little worried I might have pushed you too far. I should have just gone in the bathroom and finished in there.”
“Did I do it wrong?”
“What? No. You did great. It felt amazing. I haven’t had anyone jerk me off in...three years? And she wasn’t even very good at it really.”
“Does that mean you want me to do it again?”
“Hell yes! But only if you want to. I don’t want you to do anything you aren’t comfortable with.”
Leonard snuggled up to him and laid his head on Jim’s shoulder. “Thank you.”
A week later Jim and Leonard were sitting on a picnic table in the park across from the museum. Leonard fidgeted with the hem of his shirt until Jim put his hand over Leonard’s. “You got this. She’s going to love you. How could she not?”
“I’m not so sure about this Jim. I don’t know what to say…”
“Just be yourself. That’s who she’s coming here to see anyway.”
“Who am I Jim? How can I be myself when I don’t really know who I am?”
Jim slid off the table and stood in front of his boyfriend. Tilting Leonard’s chin up he looked him in the eyes. “You are the kind of guy that goes out of his way to help others. You pulled me and a group of kids out of a fire. You stepped in front of a moving vehicle for me. I have a feeling you’d probably take a bullet for me...please don’t test that theory. You are kind, and loving, and the sweetest person I have ever met and I think I’m in love with you…”
“Oh my gosh! You two are the absolute cutest!”
Jim frowned and turned to face the young woman. “Thank you.”
“I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to interrupt but that was just so sweet. I’m Donna. Donna McCoy.”
Leonard almost fell off the table in his attempt to stand up. Jim caught him and held out a hand to Donna. “James Kirk, but you can call me Jim.”
“You’re Jim? Oh my gosh! Hi!” She said taking his hand and shaking it enthusiastically before turning to Leonard. “So that must mean you’re Leonard…”
He smiled nervously and nodded. “Guess I’m your big brother?”
She stared at him for a moment before taking a step toward him. “Can I...can I hug you?”
Leonard hesitated for a fraction of a second and held his arms out to her. “Of course you can.”
Closing the short distance between them she wrapped her arms around him, “You look so much like daddy…”
The three of them sat and talked for awhile before Jim stood to his feet and led Leonard and Donna toward the museum. He pointed out the spot where Leonard saved him as they crosses the street and walked up the stairs to the building. Uhura smiled at them when they walked in the door.
“I wasn’t expecting to see you two today. What brings you in?”
Jim slipped his hand in Leonard’s, “Just showing Leonard’s sister around.”
Uhura’s smile broadened and she looked over at Donna. “Leonard’s sister? I didn’t know you had a sister!”
“Neither did we.” Jim said shrugging. “Mind if we give her a bit of a private tour?”
“Of course not.”
With one last smile and a nod to Uhura the three of them started off into the north wing. Jim slipped right into his role of tour guide never letting go of Leonard’s hand. While Jim pointed out all of the usual things every now and then he’d stop and point out things like: “Over there was where I met Leonard for the first time.” and “Here’s where Leonard found me and the kids during the fire.”  and Jim’s personal favorite, “He took his first steps right over there!”
“Jim, do we really have to do that again?”
“It was a big day!”
Over the next few weeks Leonard kept in touch with Donna via weekly phone calls and the occasional trip to see him. Three months after they first met Donna invited them both down to her house for a fourth of July barbecue to meet their mama and Fred. Scotty loaned them his truck for the week and they headed down to Bloomingdale Georgia.
When they pulled up in front of the two story white house Jim put the car in park and turned it off. Leonard stared at the house for a moment before Jim placed his hand over his boyfriend’s. “You got this. You know Donna loves you and if her mother….your mother is anything like her she’s going to love you too.”
Leonard gave a little nod and smiled, “Thanks Jim.”
As they opened the doors of the truck the front door of the house opened and Donna stepped out onto the porch. “You made it!”
Jim grabbed their bags out of the back and they headed up toward the house. “Yeah.  Jim got us a little lost a couple of times but we managed.”
“I didn’t see you offering to drive.” Jim said nudging him in the ribs.
Leonard rolled his eyes and hugged Donna, “How are you?”
“I’m so glad you’re here. Mama has been looking forward to finally meeting you. It’s all she’s talked about all week.”
“I can’t wait to meet her.”
Donna smiled and slipped her arm through his, “Come on inside then. She’s waiting in the library.”
Leading Leonard into the house she glanced over her shoulder at Jim and smiled, “Your bedroom is on the second floor its the door at the top of the stairs.”
Jim nodded and followed them inside. Donna led Leonard straight into the library while Jim went to put their bags away. Leonard looked around the room at the walls filled with books, the stone fireplace centered on one wall, and the rich leather chairs situated in front of the fireplace.
“Mama, he’s here.”
An older woman with dark brown hair streaked with grey stood and turned to face him. She stood in silence just taking him in. Donna nudged him forward gently. He took a couple of hesitant steps forward before she opened her arms, “Welcome home son.”
Meeting him in the middle she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tight. “I am so glad we found you. I am so glad you could come.”
He smiled nervously, “Thank you for having us.”
She released him and held him at arm's length, “This is as much your home as it is ours. You are welcome here anytime.”
“Thank you ma’am.”
She patted him on the cheek, “Please, call me mama. Everyone does.”
Leonard glanced at Donna who nodded, “It’s true. If they don’t call her mama they call her Nora.”
“Now tell me. Where is that boyfriend of yours? I’d love to meet him.”
“You’re not disappointed?”
She frowned, “With what?”
Leonard blushed slightly as Jim came down the stairs behind him. “That I have a boyfriend…”
“Sweetheart, It doesn’t matter to me who you date or fall in love with. I just want you to be happy.” She held a hand out toward Jim and Donna nudged him over. He took her hand and she squeezed it gently. “You are both welcome in my house. You are both my sons. One by blood and the other in love.”
Jim smiled and blushed slightly, “Thank you ma’am.”
Leonard grinned, “You mean, thank you mama.”
“You boys are a part of the family and don’t you ever forget that. Now come meet the rest of the family.”
“The rest of the family?”
Donna and Eleanora lead them out to the back terrace where three large tables were loaded with salad and sides and drinks and beside that was a table loaded with brisket, ribs, turkey, ham, and smoked chicken. There was more than enough food to feed Cox’s army...and it looked like they were all there.
Jim and Leonard were shown around and introduced to Fred, who had been manning the grill, and any and all other family members that were there. Leonard had lost track after about the third cousin and half the town council. Jim never left his side and held on tightly to his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze every now and then. A couple hours after they arrived Jim was asked to assist Donna with something and left Leonard with Fred. When Jim returned Leonard was gone. “Hey Fred, do you know where Leonard went?”
“I think he went to look for Nora.”
“Thanks.” he said turning to scan the crowd for the McCoy matriarch. After a few moments he spotted her sitting on the terrace talking to an old woman Jim recognized as Leonard’s great aunt Margaret. He walked over to them and nodded to the two women. “Sorry to interrupt ladies but have either of you seen Leonard? Fred said he’d gone looking for you in particular mama.”
Great aunt Margaret pursed her lips and sneered at him. “I have not seen that boy.”
Eleanora stood to her feet, “That boy is my son aunt Maggie. And this boy is his boyfriend. If you wouldn’t mind minding your manners while in my home and speaking about my boys.”
“Child I taught you what manners were.”
“Well it’s a good thing my mama taught me better then. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go look for my boy.” She turned and slipped her arm in Jim’s and led him away from great aunt Margaret. Once out of earshot She sighed, “I’m sorry about that Jim. Aunt Maggie is just...set in her ways. I had hoped she’d be able to keep her opinions to herself but apparently she couldn’t.”
Jim smiled, “Thank you for that. It’s not often people defend me like that. I mean I have heard much worse but still...thank you.”
“You’re a sweet boy Jim. I’m glad Leonard has someone as wonderful as you.”
“I’m lucky to have him. He’s saved my life in more ways than one.”
She patted his arm, “Why don’t you check out here and I’ll go look inside for him.”
Jim nodded, “Yes mama.” She patted his arm again and smiled as he slipped off into the crowd. Opening the door to the family room and stepping inside she looked around the empty room. Donna was standing in the kitchen making another batch of tea but the adjoining rooms were otherwise empty.
“You seen Leonard?”
Donna looked up and shook her head. “No mama, but I’ve been in the storage room so I might have missed him if he came inside.”
“Was the library door closed when you came in?”
Donna glanced down the hall and frowned, “I don’t think so.”
“I’ll go check in there. Finish up the tea and take it outside. If you see Jim tell him I think I’ve found Leonard.”
“Yes mama.”
Eleanora walked around to the foot of the stairs and peered in the doorframe. Leonard was sitting in one of the leather chairs in front of the fireplace. She smiled and walked over to him. “That was your daddy’s favorite spot too. He used to come in here to hide when we had these big gatherings. Never muched liked the crowd.”
Leonard gave her a weak smile, “I’m sorry, It’s just a lot to take in…”
“It’s my fault. I should have cancelled the party or at least have limited it to family only this year.”
“Please don’t feel like you have to change things on my account.”
She sat down in the chair next to him, “I want you to feel comfortable here Leonard. If that means changes are made then so be it. I won’t be sad to see aunt Maggie taken off the guest list.”
Leonard frowned, “Aunt Maggie?”
“Don’t worry about it. You are welcome to stay in here for as long as you like. I’ll make sure no one bothers you and I’ll let Jim know where you are.” She stood to her feet once more and patted him on the shoulder, “I really am glad you’re here.”

Adler Planetarium Expansion Could See Historic Building Sprout Wings
People have been thinking about expanding the easternmost element of Chicago’s Museum Campus.
A feasibility study is underway to see if an ambitious $211 million expansion and renovation of the Adler Planetarium is a good idea, according to a document anonymously beamed into our tip line.
Tumblr media
The Adler Planetarium (file)
According to the document, with a star date of October of this year, Chicago’s favorite (and this sector’s first) planetarium is considering updating its interior and exterior spaces, and adding two new wings.
Phase One includes a “Space Park” outside, which would be like a regular park you’d take your kids to, except with kinetic sculptures and space-themed activities for the youngsters.  Real space-themed activities, not the Star Trek-themed monstrosity this article is about to become become.
Tumblr media
A sketch of Adler expansion phase one, from a document dropped in our tip line.
On the inside, the Granger Sky Theater you remember so well from school field trips would become less of a place to stare at the ceiling and channel your inner Captain Kirk, and more like a music class at the Michigan Avenue Apple Store.  The mystery document describes it as “a community space in which to gather under stunning animated images of our Universe and to participate in short, immersive experiences.”  The name “Granger” appears to get thrown to the gorn, as the forward observatory is expected to be renamed The Sky Forum.
Tumblr media
The Gorn Rocks. Also known as Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park. I found no giant lizards to wrestle on my visit.
Also planned for Phase One is an Our Universe exhibit, which is supposed to be an “interactive space” revolving around recent events in space and science, much the way the Kirk revolves around Nurse Chapel.
Phase Two: The Wrath of Khan is where this Adler plan sets its phasers on stunning, with a new south pavilion that will house a more efficient entrance, leading to a new bridge… er… lobby.  There will be enough exhibits and displays to make a stellar cartographer scream “Khaaan!” Just be sure to exit through the shiny new gift shop.
Tumblr media
A sketch of Adler expansion phase two, from a document dropped in our tip line.
And then, there’s Phase Three: The Search for Spock.  This one is a building expansion on the north side.  Clearly, the people thinking about the Adler know its most underutilized asset is the building’s HoloGrammable view of the city skyline.  The northern expansion is envisioned with more glass than the bridge of The Enterprise, and views looking both up at the stars, as well as out over the Outer Harbor to downtown Chicago.
Phase Three is expected to “offer additional exhibits focusing on how humanity has reached beyond Earth, a new design lab for citizen science, improved office space, and an event and conference center,” according to the document.  “Citizen Science” is also the nickname the South Loop McCoy Admiration Society.

So when will Chicago’s planetarium boldly go where no Chicago planetarium has gone before?  The Adlerites aren’t ready to pull this one out of the replicator just yet.  They’re still exploring this sector to determine if they can come up with the dilithium crystals to fund it.  An impulse of $123 million would be enough to start the engines for phases one and two.  Scotty would need another $88 million to boost Phase 3 into warp.
We think there are two neutral zones to cross here.  First, the Adler is a National Historic Landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places, so it could take an act of Star Fleet to make this happen.  And second, there isn’t a lot of room way out there at the end of East Solidarity Drive.  So for this expansion plan, space may indeed be the final frontier.

Terra Nova  ~Part Eight: Plans~
Tumblr media
[See my Masterlist for earlier sections. I’d link them, but for some reason then no-one can see this :P ]
So my posting caught up to my writing this week! Never fear, I’m now a chapter ahead. We return to the Enterprise, where you and Bones have just arrived, new baby Colin in tow.
Fandom: Star Trek (AOS/TOS).
Pairing: Reader X Bones
Words: 1,454
Warnings: Some moderate swearing and more (though brief) daddy!Bones (the fluffy kind I swear!)
Tagging: @medicatemedrmccoy, @outside-the-government, @kilismaiden, @gerardwayisapotato, @yourtropegirl, @malindacath, @imaginativefanatic, @flowerfairies101, and @arcticbubby. Let me know if you want to be added!
Captain’s Log, Stardate 2285.6. We have managed to retrieve Chief Medical Officer Leonard McCoy and Security Officer Y/n, Y/l/n from the surface of planet A’xar. The returned party has informed us of at least ten further human captives, and the Enterprise remains in orbit until we can determine how to proceed. Our chief engineer is investigating methods of retrieval – there has been no further further word from the alien intelligence. The baby rescued from the planet has been entrusted to the care of our CMO until his parents can be located and retrieved.
****************************************************************************************************
Rocking slightly, you watched Colin’s little chest rise and fall in sleep. He’d cried for hours, and you had the distinct feeling he’d exhausted himself. Hey, whatever works, you thought, leaning back against the wall of your quarters. Colin whined softly, stretching his hands and puckering his lips. Smiling, exhaustion slowly settled over you and your eyes felt very heavy –
“I wouldn’t do that sweetheart.”
Your eyes opened to find Bones smiling at you. You tried to say something, but your mouth stretched automatically into a wide yawn.
“Give him here, it’s my turn.”
“Sure,” you grumbled sarcastically, gently handing over the infant. “Now it’s your shift, once he’s finally asleep.”
“This isn’t my first rodeo,” Bones winked at you, carrying Colin over to his crib and settling him inside, cooing as the baby whined softly. “No no little one, back to sleep.” As if by magic, Colin quieted.
“Can I please share your supernatural abilities?” You asked, stretching your back for the first time in ages. “Or is it a sell your soul, give up your first born kind of thing?”
“Both, sadly,” Bones answered, coming to sit by you on the bed. “Jo wasn’t pleased.”
You laughed, leaning your head on his shoulder and sighing deeply.
“Darlin’?”
“Mhm?” You hummed, sleep collecting behind your eyes.
“What are we gonna do if we can’t get them out?”
You opened your eyes, looking up at his face as he ran a hand gently over your hair. “I don’t know,” you admitted. “I’m kind of working under the assumption that we will.”
Bones nodded, swallowing slightly. “Yeah, I know. It’s just,” he paused and sighed deeply. “The little tyke has my name. I don’t think I could manage to –”
“He’s not going anywhere Bones,” you murmured, taking his hand and stroking it. “Colin’s either living with his parents, relatives on Earth, or with us.”
There was a pause, then you heard Bones’ voice, the words a little thick. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you nuzzled deeper into him, and felt his warm arms wrap around you. “After all, we promised to keep him safe.”
If Bones replied, you didn’t hear him. The warmth of the embrace and his gentle breathing had won out, and you slipped into sleep.
****************************************************************************************************
“Well, you’ve heard everything now.”
You sank back into your chair, looking around the room at the faces of the senior staff. Kirk was leaning forward, elbows on the table and chin on his hands. Spock stood off to the side, lost in thought, Scotty had his eyebrows knit together so tightly they looked like one long, dark line, and Bones was next to you, rocking Colin as the baby hiccupped and whined. Reaching over, you took Colin from Bones, settling him in the crook of your arm.
“Well,” Kirk said, eyes moving from Bones to you. “That explains a lot.”
“And also nothing at all,” the doctor said, voice rising as Colin let out a sharp cry. “Jim did we really have to bring him here?”
“We’ve no-one to babysit,” Kirk reminded him. “There’s a reason we’re going in for a refit next month - a nursery is clearly going to be necessary.”
“Officer,” All eyes turned to the tall Vulcan, who had spoken for the first time since you’d gathered. “May I attempt to soothe him?”
“Of course Mr. Spock.”
Standing, you carefully placed the infant in his arms. Colin thrashed a few moments more, but upon opening his eyes, the sight of Spock stopped his cries at once.
“Oh thank god,” Bones sighed. “He’s been screaming since we arrived.”
“Can’t blame him,” Kirk smirked, “seeing that scowl constantly.”
Bones laughed sardonically, but you felt his hand find yours. You squeezed it gently, then redirected the discussion.
“Now that we’re all caught up, what exactly is it we know?”
“Well,” Kirk thought for a moment, “we know what they look like.”
“They use a resonance shielding system,” Scotty added, “which weakens when power is drawn internally.”
“Their voice is annoying as all He –”
“The baby, Jim,” Bones warned. Kirk raised his eyebrows before resuming.
“As all heck, and is derived from a mutual language root with a planet two thousand galaxies distant.”
“A strange set of variables,” Bones said. Kirk seemed deep in thought about something, then turned his eyes on you.
“What was it you saw in the woods again? What did the sign say?”
“Terran Wing, 1500-1650 CE,” you repeated. The words seemed burned into your mind.
“Hmmmm,” Kirk muttered. “And up here, they called it the Nexus Conservatory.”
“If I may,” Spock said. He moved across the room, Colin now held securely against Spock’s chest, his little head resting on the Vulcan’s shoulder. Spock pressed a button and the far wall lit up, displaying a picture of the sprawling glass structure. “The word ‘conservatory’ implies a zoo-like environment, corroborated by the glass walls, allowing for more light. However, taking into account the Officer’s observations, I would suggest that the wings are divided first by cultural background, and then time period.”
As he spoke, indicating elements of the structure, you saw a small hand creep out from the swaddling blanket, reach up, and latch onto Spock’s ear. Without pausing, Spock made to move the baby’s hand, but each time he did Colin inevitably reached back up. Finally, Spock gave up, and as the Vulcan continued to talk very seriously about the building your cheeks started to hurt as you fought back laughter. You forced yourself not to look at Bones, you could feel his chair shaking as he laughed silently, and you knew the moment your eyes met all resistance would be futile.
“In summation, I would suggest that this structure is a museum, populated by specimens from desired origins which are placed in different temporal environments for the edification of the local species.”
At these words, your laughter died. Ayo, Tanya, Trixie - all locked away in some glass case. And what about Wendy and Mike - what happened when a specimen became uninteresting or dangerous?
“We have to get them out,” you breathed.
“Yes we do,” Kirk agreed, and by the hard look in his eyes you could tell he had something in mind. “From the sound of it there’s more than one exhibit. We need to get them all out - now, or by the might of all Starfleet, I don’t care, but it’s happening.”
You felt your heart swell at his words. Turning to his left, Kirk gestured at the map on the table. “Any ideas Scotty?”
“Aye Sir, but it’ll be dangerous.”
“That’s a given at this point,” Kirk replied.
“Well,” Scotty continued. “Now that we have solid coordinates, if you can distract the ‘curators’ long enough I can beam someone down, carrying our strongest pattern enhancers.”
“I’ll do it,” you said at once. “Bones is more valuable to them – they’d fight harder to keep him. Plus, I’ve engineering background in case the enhancers go skewy.”
‘No –” Bones interjected, “we just got out, you can’t go back in there!”
You turned to look at him, squeezing his hand once more. “I know that place better than any other redshirt we could send. It has to be me, you know that.”
You held each other’s gaze for a moment, and you saw his eyes soften. “Yeah,” he finally agreed. “Yeah, I know.”
****************************************************************************************************
“So you’ve got two phasers, two comms, and five enhancers, right?”
“Yes –” you replied, swaying on the spot as you fought to hold all the gear. “All accounted for.”
“Good,” Scotty replied, moving off towards the control panel and pressing a button. “Captain, we’re all set here.”
“Be careful my love.”
Your eyes flicked over to Bones, who had moved close to you, resting his hand on your arm.
“Promise,” you whispered back. Leaning in, he pressed his forehead to yours, breathing deeply.
“We have unfinished business, remember?”
A shiver ran down your spine and you smirked at him before closing the distance.
“We’re ready!”
Breaking the kiss, Bones stepped back, eyes never leaving your face. You took a deep, steadying breath.
“Energize!”
You felt the warmth, saw the golden light - and then you were gone.

Leonard had been the guardian angel of a number of children. He loved the little darlings and was always sad when he was reassigned. He hated to see them go. His last little girl was as sweet as could be and had such big dreams. He couldn’t help her though. Sitting in the park waiting for his next assignment all he could think about was his sweet little Jenny.
He didn’t know who to expect. He’d been told the name of his assignment and a rough description but not much else, which was a little out of the ordinary. Usually he was taken directly to the child but this time he was simply told to wait.
“There’s been a change of plans.”
He looked up to see his boss walking toward him, “Sir?”
“Come with me and I’ll take you to him. Chris is having a hard time and could use some help.”
Leonard stood to his feet and followed along beside the older man. “Chris sir?”
The older man nodded, “His current guardian is retiring. You’re the replacement.”
“Is he difficult sir?”
“Oh no, he’s one of the best. Just time to hang up his hat and enjoy his time.”
“I meant my assignment sir.”
“Oh!” The older man grinned a little, “I’m sorry. Yes your new assignment can be a bit difficult at times but it’s nothing you can’t handle. Remember that kid Finnegan?”
Leonard nodded. Boy did he remember Finnegan. He was a little devil. Tormented the younger kids, always playing pranks, always in trouble. He sure gave me a run for my money.”
“So did that kid...what was his name? Riley? He was a fun one if I remember.”
Leonard gave him a slight smile, “Yeah, he was a good kid though. Had some trouble but he got through it alright.”
“I have to warn you, this assignment isn’t like any of your others. He’s a little older than the average but don’t let his age fool you. He needs someone watching out for him. He’s had a rough life and he’s not making it easier on himself.”
“So what am I supposed to do?” Leonard asked as they approached one of the apartment building situated at the edge of the park.
“You’re moving in.”
Leonard frowned and raised an eyebrow. “I’m what?”
“You’re moving in and you’re going to live like them. Keep an eye on him and try to keep him out of too much trouble. Fifth floor apartment 7B. He’s across the hall.”
Leonard stood there and stared up at the building. The older man nudged him. “Get a move on. Chris is waiting for you.”
Leonard headed up to the fifth floor and found Chris standing outside the door to 7B.
“You’re the new guy?”
Leonard nodded and held out his hand, “Leonard. You must be Chris?”
“That’s me. Phil didn’t say he was bringing in a fairy godmother for this.”
Leonard rolled his eyes and glanced down the hall, “So where is he?”
Chris nodded to the door across the hall. “That’s his apartment. He’s entertaining right now so we have some time to get you settled before he does something stupid again.”
“Great...Wait a second...He’s entertaining? Just how old is this kid?”
Chris turned the knob on the door to 7B and pushed the door open. “Twenty-three.” he said as he stepped inside the apartment.
Leonard glanced back at the door and sighed. This was not going to be an easy assignment.
Chris spent the next hour going over everything in the apartment with him. Food in the fridge, clothes in the closet, phone and laptop on the table, and the usual dos and don’ts of the job.
“We’ve arranged for you to work at the museum as a security guard, think you can handle that?” Chris asked as he pulled a uniform out of the hall closet and handed it to him.
Leonard took the uniform with a nod, “Yes sir.”
“Any questions before I leave?”
Leonard looked around the apartment and shook his head. “No sir, I don't think so.”
“Good. Jim’ll be about done and then he's off to work I suggest you get going too.”
Leonard nodded and walked into the bedroom to change into his uniform. Chris stepped out into the hall and looked over at the door to Jim's apartment. “You’ll do great.” He said quietly before heading down the hall.
A couple of hours later he walked out of the locker room and headed for his post in the lobby of the museum. The doors hadn’t opened yet but it wouldn’t be long and there would be streams of people coming in to see the new exhibits. He’d found a map of the museum in the pocket of his uniform and had studied it before he arrived for work but after fifteen minutes of wandering through the Egyptian exhibit he had to admit he was lost.
“You must be new here.”
He turned and looked around for the source of the voice. “It’s my first day…”
“Figured.”
A sandy haired man stepped out from behind an exhibit with the biggest grin and a sparkle in his eyes. The bluest eyes Leonard had ever seen. He felt his heart flutter in his chest and he frowned. He’d never felt anything like that before and he wasn’t sure what it meant.
“Jim Kirk, tour guide.” he said stepping over to him and extending his hand.
He blinked. Jim...his new assignment. The kid he was supposed to watch over. He took his hand and gave it a firm shake. “Leonard McCoy, security.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m headed for the lobby if you want to tag along.”
Leonard nodded, “Thanks.”
Jim turned and shrugged, “No problem. It’s easy to get turned around in this place. I got lost at least four times in my first week here.”
Leonard smiled and laughed. “The tour guide got lost?”
Jim looked over at him and grinned again, “I wasn’t a tour guide then. I’ve only been doing this for the last few months. I was at the front desk before that.”
Leonard followed alongside the blonde while he continued to talk about his time working in the museum and offering random facts about some of the exhibits as they passed. Once they had made their way to the lobby Jim turned and smiled. “See you around McCoy.” He said as he headed off toward a small group that was gathering near the door.
There was something about this kid that was different and it wasn’t just his age.
A few hours later Leonard stood at the information desk keeping an eye on the door as streams of people came in the doors. A group of five and six year olds on a school trip passed by him in two lines. He smiled down at them and a little girl near the end smiled back and gave him a little wave.
“Excuse me?”
He turned and looked up at the young girl that had just approached him. “Yes Ma’am? What can help you with?”
“I'm looking for my group. I got lost and I'm not sure where they went…”
“I'm sure we can find them. Who is your tour guide?”
“I can't remember his name but he's a little shorter than you, blonde hair, blue eyes…”
Leonard nodded. “Sounds like Jim.” He took his radio from his belt and hit the button. “I've got a lost lamb at the front desk. Can I get a location on Kirk’s group?”
“They’re headed for the Titanic exhibit.”
He smiled at the young woman. “Let me show you back to your group.”
She nodded as he turned to the desk. “Kalissa, I’ll be back shortly.”
The redhead behind the desk waved him off and continued staring at the monitor in front of her. He shook his head and started off toward the east wing of the museum, the girl following close behind him.
The Titanic exhibit was a temporary exhibit, it was making its way across the country and was only going to last a few short weeks. Leonard was familiar with the incident but had never actually seen any of the pieces in the exhibit. As he walked through he couldn't help but notice some of the items. Ladies gloves, unbroken dishes, scraps of paper, but the things that stood out to him the most were a pair of children's shoes and a deteriorating teddy bear.
He stopped and stared at the items thinking of the child they had once belonged to.
Tight black curls and amber eyes, barefoot in nothing but her thin white nightdress. Clutching the bear tightly to her chest as tears stream down her face. Reaching a hand out and placing it on her shoulder. Kneeling down beside her and whispering in her ear. Sniffling she is placed in a boat and someone wraps her up in a jacket.
A hand on his shoulder and he knows…his little girl won't make it through the night.
“Are you okay mister?”
The voice of a little girl brings him crashing back to the present. He turned to her and nodded. “I’m okay. Just thinking about someone I used to know. She had a bear like this one.”
“What was her name?”
“Elizabeth. She was four years old when I last saw her.” He took a step away from the case and she followed along beside him.
“What happened to her?”
“I’m not sure. She was going away and I never saw her again.”
“Oh.”
He smiled down at her and turned back to the exhibit. There were several groups making their way through, it took a few moment before he caught sight of the blonde headed man he was looking for. Putting a hand on her back he moved in the direction of Kirk and his group.
**“In compliance with the law of the sea, women and children boarded the boats first; only when there were no women or children nearby were men permitted to board. Yet many of the victims were in fact women and children, the result of disorderly procedures that failed to get them to the boats in the first place.”
Leonard cleared his throat and stepped up beside the blonde tour guide. “Lose something Kirk?”
“Lissie!” A young woman rushed over and grabbed her by the hand. “Where on Earth did you go?”
“I went to the bathroom and got a little turned around. I couldn’t find you so I went to the desk for help.”
The young woman looked up at Leonard. “Thank you for bringing her back to us.”
Leonard smiled and nodded, “Just doing my job ma’am.” He glanced over at Kirk, “Try not to lose anyone else?”
The blonde grinned, “I won’t. Thanks Officer McCoy.”
Leonard walked away and shook his head. If he didn’t know any better he could have sworn that woman was one of his girls. Who was he kidding, she was. Rachel always was good with the younger kids. He knew she’d grow up to be a teacher one day. Just never thought he’d get to see it.
Isadora was new in town, going to a new school, and just didn’t seem to fit in. She was a smart kid she was just quieter than most. Just the type that Jake liked to torment. Leonard sat on the bench at the edge of the schoolyard watching and wishing he could intervene, the poor girl looked terrified. Thankfully the sandy haired kid that was often the target of Jake’s bullying stepped in to help.
Jake balled his fist and Leonard stood to his feet. “Don’t do it Jake.” he whispered.
Jake hesitated as Isadora scurried away into the school. Jimmy stood in front of Jake and continued to stare him down, Leonard knew the chances were slim that Jake would back down voluntarily. He could only stand back and hope that he would do the right thing.
He didn’t. He punched Jimmy in the nose and left him bleeding on the ground. Leonard sighed and walked over to him. “You okay kid?”
Jimmy looked up at him and nodded as he wiped his nose with the back of his hand. “I’m fine.”
Leonard reached a hand out and helped him up, “I saw what you did for that little girl.”
Jimmy shrugged, “She’s new. No reason to pick on her.”
Leonard smiled, “Keep your chin up kid and don’t let the bullies keep you down.”
Nodding Jimmy turned and headed inside the school. Leonard watched him as the doors closed behind him. “You’re a good kid Jimmy. Don’t ever change.”
Two days later Leonard sat down on the couch and picked a book up off the table. He flipped through a few pages and set the book back down with a sigh. “What am I even doing here?”
“Helping Jim.”
Leonard turned toward the window, “Chris, how am I supposed to help him? I need more information.”
Chris shook his head and sat down on the couch. “You’ll know what to do when the time comes. Just stay close. He’s highly unpredictable.”
Leonard opened his mouth to say something when there was a knock at the door. “Just a minute!” He called before turning back to Chris only to find him gone. Shaking his head he stood to his feet and walked to the door. Unlocking the deadbolt he opened the door. “Can I help you…”
Jim smiled up at him. “Hey! Officer McCoy! I didn’t know we were neighbors!”
Leonard raised an eyebrow, “Are you drunk?”
Jim straightened up and gave him a crooked smile, “Maybe...What’s it to ya?”
“You knocked on my door.”
“Oh! Yeah I did!” He laughed and poked Leonard in the chest. “Would you happen to have a key to my place? I seem to be locked out…”
“Why would I have a key to your apartment?”
Jim frowned, “That’s a very good question. Why do you have a key to my apartment?”
Leonard shook his head, “I don’t. Why don’t you come in and take a seat while I call the building manager? Bathroom is on the left. If you need to throw up please do it in there.”
Jim nodded and walked into his apartment. This kid was going to be the death of him...if that was even possible. He shut the door and walked to the kitchen counter to pick up his phone. Jim had settled in on the couch and was looking around.
“You know the guy that lived here before?”
Leonard nodded, “I met him.”
“He was a nice guy. I’m gonna miss having him around...You know where he went?”
Leonard looked down at his phone and set it back down on the counter. Chris was right. “I think he was retiring. Not sure where he was going.”
“He was a nice guy. Helped me out of a few scrapes...Kinda like a dad to me in a way.”
Shit. This kid did have problems. If Chris was like a father too him. “What about your father?” he asked as he moved into the living room and sat down on the couch with Jim.
Jim shook his head, “Died in an accident when I was born...same day even. He was a firefighter. He was trying to get everyone out and the building collapsed on him.”
“I’m sorry.”
Jim shrugged. “I didn’t know him. My mom never talked about him. Think it traumatized her or something. She just couldn’t face it.”
“It must have been hard.”
“My brother couldn’t handle it so he went to live with our grandparents. I stayed with mom because she needed me.”
“I can understand that. I wish I’d been able to stay with the people that needed me.”
“Why’d you leave?”
Leonard shook his head. “My job kept me on the go a lot. Haven’t been in once place for very long in a while.”
“Maybe you’ll get to stay here for a while.”
“Maybe.”
Jim yawned and closed his eyes. “What’s keeping the manager?”
“Why don’t you just rest here and I’ll give him another call?” Leonard asked as he stood to his feet.
Jim nodded and slumped down on the couch. “Thanks Officer…”
“Call me Leonard.”
“Thanks Leonard.”
Leonard draped a blanket over him and stepped into the kitchen. “Why didn’t you tell me any of this?” He muttered to himself.
“You needed to hear it from him. I’ve been around him for years and saw a lot of his struggles first hand. If I’d told you your response to hearing it from him would have been different.”
Leonard turned to face Chris. “What am I supposed to do here? I don’t understand…”
Chris sighed, “He needs a friend. He needs someone to keep him steady.”
“How long of an assignment is this?”
“As long as it takes Leonard. As long as it takes.”
Over the next few weeks Leonard kept an eye on Jim. Neither of them mentioned the night Jim spent on Leonard’s couch and Leonard never mentioned waking to find him gone. Leonard found and envelope stuck under his door one evening after returning home from work and opened it. A key slid out into his hand and he pulled a small note out of the envelope that read “Just in case”.
“Just in case what?”
The door across the hall opened and he turned around. “Hey Leonard.”
“This yours Jim?” He asked holding up the key.
“Yeah. I thought it might not be a bad idea if you had a key. You know, just in case…”
Leonard nodded, “Thanks for trusting me.”
Jim shrugged and leaned on the door frame. “It’s not like I don’t know where you work and all. Besides you’re a security guard. If I can’t trust you then who can I trust?”
Leonard smiled and shook his head. “I guess that’s true.”
“You eaten yet?”
Leonard glanced inside his still dark apartment and shook his head. “No. In fact I think I forgot to go shopping…”
“Come on over. I picked up some chinese and I can’t eat it all.”
Leonard dropped his stuff inside the door and pulled it shut behind him. “Thanks Jim.”
Jim lead the way into his apartment, “No problem. I always get more than I can eat and it usually just sits in the fridge.” He pulled the bags of food over on the counter and started taking cartons out one at a time. “I’ve got fried rice, potstickers, egg rolls, wontons, vegetable lo mein, sweet and sour soup, beef and broccoli, and kung pao chicken.”
Leonard stared at the containers on the table and glanced up at Jim. “I can see why you always have leftovers. Were you really hungry when you ordered?”
“I never know what I’ll actually eat so I get a little of everything that sounds good. Today I couldn’t decide. What sounds good to you?”
Leonard shook his head, “Fried rice and kung pao chicken?”
Jim grinned and handed the containers to him. “Good cause I kind of wanted the noodles and beef. I picked up a movie on the way home too if you want to watch it with me.”
Chris had told him Jim needed a friend. This just proved that he was lonely. He’d practically planned the whole evening. What would he have done if Leonard had said no? Leonard glanced around the room. A couple of pictures of him and his mother hung on the wall in the living room and a random piece of art here and there but nothing that told him anything about the single occupant of the apartment. It wasn’t overly messy but it wasn’t the neatest apartment he’d seen either.
He looked over at the blonde with the crystal blue eyes, “What movie?”
Jim practically bounced over to the kitchen counter where he picked up a DVD case. “Peter Pan.”
Leonard laughed and nodded, “I haven’t seen that one in a while.”
“Good.” He headed over to the tv and stuck the dvd in the player before he settled in on the couch with his cartons of food. Leonard grabbed the utensils and sat down beside him and handed him a fork.
“Thanks.”
Leonard set the carton of rice on the side table and opened the chicken. “I’m not sure I’ve ever actually had this before.”
Jim looked over at him, “You aren’t allergic to peanuts are you?”
“Don’t think so.”
“Like spicy stuff?”
“Within reason.”
Jim grinned and stood to his feet. He disappeared into the kitchen and returned with three bottles of water. “You might need this then.” He said, handing one of the bottles to him.
“Thanks.”
Jim set the other two bottles on the table and grabbed the remote to start the movie. He pulled his feet up under him and settled in for the movie. Leonard spent as much time watching Jim as he did watching the movie. He was starting to understand why he had been chosen for this assignment. Jim was a in a sense still a child. He was a child at heart.
Kevin Riley had been sent to a wilderness camp for the summer. He wasn’t a bad kid, he just had trouble adjusting in school. His parents had decided that camp might help him. Leonard stuck close to him while he settled in with the other kids. Their guide took them deep into the woods and everything was going well until their guide disappeared on them leaving eight children alone in the woods with no food and only one tent. The second oldest kid in the group stepped up and took charge.
He oversaw the assembly of the tent and managed to find some berries and other edible plants nearby. Leonard could only watch from a distance while the kids fend for themselves while waiting for someone to find them. For three weeks they stayed right there. J.T. made a crude fishing pole and managed to catch a fish or two every couple of days and his simple trap even caught a rabbit. He built and managed the fire and did his best to keep the other kids calm. Kevin was the youngest and J.T. had taken him under his wing. Kevin followed him everywhere, Leonard was glad that Kevin had made a friend and knew he’d be alright.
At the end of the fourth week a search party found them and brought them back to the main camp. While everyone was bustling around getting food and water for the kids Leonard sat down beside J.T. “You the one in charge?”
He nodded and stared at his feet. “Yeah.”
“You kept them safe.”
J.T. nodded again, “Sam taught me lots of things before he left.”
“Sam?”
“My brother, he left to live with my grandparents. They couldn’t take us both, only wanted him.”
“You did good.”
“Thanks.” He wiped his face with the back of his hand and sniffled.
Leonard wrapped an arm around him, “It’s not your fault.” he said quietly.
The dam broke and the tears streamed from the boys eyes as he wrapped both arms around Leonard. Together they sat there until Jim cried himself to sleep. Laying him back on the bed Leonard pulled a blanket over him. “It’ll be alright kid.”
A month after their movie night Leonard was sitting at the info desk when the alarms sounded.
“An immediate evacuation of the museum is required due to a fire in the North wing. Please remain calm and exit the building in an orderly fashion. Follow the instructions of emergency and other museum personnel.”
Leonard jumped to his feet and grabbed his radio. “What’re we looking at John?”
Making his way toward the North wing against the steady flow of people he directs them to the exits.
“It’s not good Leonard. Don’t know what started it but it’s spreading fast and there are people trapped in there.”
Leonard’s heart skipped a beat, “Who’s still in there John?”
“Kirk’s group was near the back of the wing. They got trapped. We can’t get to them.”

The state library of Victoria located in Swanston street, Melbourne, although opening on 11 February 1856, the structure was made up of 23 individual buildings. It is the birthplace of Melbourne’s first Exhibition Buildings, the National Gallery and the Melbourne Museum. The Dome that towers above the Library’s facade did not exist until the 20th century. The space originally had the Rotunda and Great Hall, which was part of the Exhibition Buildings, built to host the 1866-1867 Intercolonial Exhibition. The first stage was the centre of the front block in 1856, with most of the front wing complete in 1864. Other areas were built at various times, such as Barry Hall in 1886, McCoy Hall built in 1892 and Baldwin Spencer Hall in 1909. The library filled the entire block in 1992. Between 1990 and 2004 it underwent major refurbishments, designed by archives Ancher Mortlock and Woolley, this cost approximately $200 million.
It is Heritage listed, in the Victorian heritage database, which describes the architectural style of the original buildings as Victorian Period Academic Classical.
There are a number of statues located around the building. The metal lions, installed in the 1860s, statues of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, the Prince of Wale and the Princess of Wales which was installed in 1879. The last to be installed where from the Dromkeen Scholastic Collection of Children’s Book Art in 2012. There are many more murals and sculptures placed around the building, providing historical context to the structure as well as an intriguing appeal. Columns also surround the building, each column covered in unique detail, this provides contemporary element.
The interior of the building is grand, utilising the old structure however adding new technologies. The Dome Reading Room, opened 1913 is a vital space in the library, the overhead feature allows a fascinating insight through the concave window design, enabling the outside world in, combining both the natural light and man made features.
The foundation of the building was made from stone, and the building’s colour palette is rather neutral, utilising whites, browns, greys and maroons, this was the contemporary style of the time. Long desks and chairs fill the library, made from wooden oak, embraced in brown, maroon shades.
The building provides, a calm, sophisticated and functional space for all people in Melbourne, allowing many to study, eat their lunch or simply relax in the chaotic city.
