Lara Cory  escapeintolife.com ....      As the viewer digs a little deeper, a better understanding of de Medici’s concerns with power and control through violence become apparent. Her art and her message is accessible. You don’t need an explanation to enjoy and appreciate the visually enticing guns and skulls, and yet you still sense the beguiling paradox of her work.The artist’s style and subject matter seem to perfectly encapsulate her intention and her expression. Her art reflects the precision of natural history illustration, from which she draws her influence, as well as from her experience as tattooist. The subject matter and technique are forged together in a highly original context. De Medici explains in an interview that her penchant for working in miniature is due to the patience and skill she learned during her years as a tattooist. According to de Medici,  tattoos are emblems that people choose to represent their ideas. The imagery of guns and skulls therefore arises from this symbolic approach to meaning. The gun is the weapon of ultimate power and the skull is the result of that power. An exquisite and gentle moth pelt disguises and also magnifies the awareness of extinction and the abuse of power. (Remember that de Medici volunteered at CSIRO, assisting with the classification of rare moth species.) De Medici’s “impossible guns” with triggers made up of the microscopic filaments of moth hide are emblems of defenseless beauty and destruction. The echoes of natural history illustration in her work, invites connections to humanity, biology and life as art. De Medici’s guns and skulls are also reminders of the end of life, violence, and the ravaging of the natural world.The colors that the artist uses to convey her meaning are not randomly selected. They combine variations of the wing pattern of the Tortricidae superfamily of Microlepidoptera—a very small species of moth, found in the Asia Pacific region—flashes of the British and US flags; colonial drawings of the crash of the flagship of the First Fleet, the shipwrecked Sirius on the Norfolk Island reef; the Mobil horse, the BHP logo, Monsanto, Blackwater and numerous other colors loaded with meaning.And so, the imagery and materials of de Medici’s guns and skulls combine to form an aggregate of associations, ideas and influences. She fuses the organic, vulnerable, biological characteristics of the moth and the skull with the artificial, man-made gun and notions of power. She explores a range of antithetical insights, from the resplendent pelts of extinct moths to the hard, cold fact of weaponry. The artist transforms the ugliness and cruelty of violence by showing us the final, irreversible result of that violence in beguiling beauty.

Porsche 914 Fifteen Eleven Design, 2023 (1975). The classic & prestige arm of UK-based WRC team Mellors Elliot Motorsport have revealed a restomod 914 fitted with a Porsche Cayman 3.8S 6-cylinder engine and 6-speed transmission. Modifications include carbon fibre panels, Reiger coilover suspension and a Brembo braking system. The 3.8 litre engine has been reworked to offer between 380-400BHP, coupled with steel internals, forged pistons and a Life Racing ECU and power management system. The cars will be specced to individual buyer's requirements with pricing starting at starting at £350,000 ($442,512).

Meet Mellor!

Originally, Mellor had been her uncorrupted self, aka my sona. She was a scientist that was working on the multiverse and void theory. She was hired due to her lack of ability to feel properly, therefore lack of sympathy for test subjects and lab rats. But when a genocide struck her area, she flipped the device that was a work in progress to try and escape in a burning building. Upon doing so though, she was thrown into the Anti-Void. An unspecified amount of time passed, and over that time she corrupted. During corruption, her mixed genes corrupted and resulted in limb corruption as depicted with paws and different limbs. She forgot how to fly, and during corruption tripled her capacity to feel. Now alone, mentally unstable and stuck with emotions she's never felt before, she get's into unstable mindsets. Her mindset is thrown into this corrupted vision of the multiverse, believing that it's nothing but a trap and an unnecessary waste of space. Eventually, after a particular emotional outburst from the voices grating at her consciousness, she accidentally conjures a portal, and so she finally figures out her abilities. -- - Mellor has often emotional outbursts, usually them being rage or just straight up tantrums. - She tries to stick to her original belief that friends are unnecessary but she's painfully affection deprived - Much like Error, she crashes upon touch and has severe haphephobia due to it. Crashes are brutally painful and can last up to five minutes on normal terms. - Her abilities are similar to Error's, with strings, blasters, and bones. Although she has wings, she forgot how to fly, so she usually uses strings to hold herself up. - She doesn't like walking, due to her originally prior to corruption already not walking much, just preferring to hover. Instead she opts to use her strings. - She HATES being made fun of or any teasing. She's insecure -- - She's 6' - Cupioromantic ( a person who wants a romantic relationship, but does not feel romantic attraction) - Obsessed with soap operas - She considered ripping off her wings multiple times since they're a constant reminder of what she used to be (she wants to go back and figure out who she used to be)
