...Il mio bracciale a “maglia milanese”.

Il disegno della Maglia Milanese risale al tredicesimo secolo ed è nato a Milano per migliorare la vestibilità delle armature medioevali, rimanendo un’esclusiva italiana per oltre cinquecento anni.

Si tratta di un'intricata trama in cui gli anelli in ferro sono stati sostituiti da fili avvolti a spirale tra loro per dare vita ad una sorta di "tessuto" che poi viene tagliato e pressato.

L'arte orafa ha successivamente mutuato tale principio per dar vita a bracciali da utilizzare anche sugli orologi.

Nel 1920 le case tedesche Staib e Vollmer hanno rinnovato questo tipo di tessuto utilizzandolo per i bracciali facendo salire notevolmente la sua popolarità.

Il bracciale in maglia milanese è facilmente distinguibile per la sua maglia particolarmente fitta ma nello stesso tempo morbida.

The design of the Milanese shirt dates back to the thirteenth century and was born in Milan to improve the wearability of medieval armor, remaining an Italian exclusive for over five hundred years.

It is an intricate weave in which iron rings have been replaced by strands wound in a spiral to give life to a sort of "fabric" which is then cut and pressed.

The goldsmith art has subsequently borrowed this principle to give life to bracelets to be used also on watches.

In 1920 the German houses Staib and Vollmer renewed this type of fabric using it for bracelets, greatly increasing its popularity.

The Milanese knit bracelet is easily distinguished by its particularly thick yet soft knit.
