At Ebooks Direct: Our Pride Month Package
...with an exclusive new release!
Tumblr media
Warning! These works contain: homosexuals, bisexuals, lesbians, pansexuals, asexuals, polyamorous folks, genderfluid humans and nonhumans, two (or maybe three) varieties of magic-users, science-users, wizards and Dragons. Even occasional straight people.
And they've all been there since 1979.
Welcome to one universe where who you love and how your genders intersect is between you, your lover(s), and the Goddess. And another where wizards come in so many species and sexualities that getting sniffy about something as wildly variable as local sex and gender is (eyeroll) soooo provincial... when you're just one more of a million kinds of humanity, and the serious question is "Never mind the tentacles... do you think can we date?"
The collection contains:
The Door Into Fire*
The Door Into Shadow*
The Door Into Sunset*
Tales of the Five #1: The Levin-Gad
Tales of the Five #2: The Landlady
Sirronde's World #1: The Span
Sirronde's World #3: Parting Gifts (SW #2 not yet written)
Tales of the Middle Kingdoms #1: Lior and the Sea
Additionally, it contains the new just-dropped Tales of the Middle Kingdoms novella, Overdue—available only in this collection (and, way earlier than usual for a new release, in the whole-store "I Want Everything You've Got" collection) until the end of Pride Month.
And finally, from the Young Wizards universe, the collection contains the matter-of-fact exit from the (contextual) closet of two of the best-loved characters in the series—Advisory wizards Tom Swale and Carl Romeo—on their first canonically-"out" (ad)venture as a couple:
Owl Be Home For Christmas
All the works above are available for individual purchase at Ebooks Direct at the (currently normal) 50%-off discount. This package, though, takes an additional 15% off that price. The Pride Month Package will be available at its reduced price, $18.99, until Pride Month's end (30 June 2023, 23:59 UTC).

So I have a metric fuckton of cooking apples in my fridge even after giving away a lot of them, and @petermorwood posting about honey-fried apples gave me just the idea of what to do with some of them. I stretched them with potatoes and topped them with bacon (and bacon grease…) and this was an excellent decision. This is absolutely worth a repeat next year - might want to make it in batches to avoid crowding the pan, this is where the carbon steel really can shine but you only really see it on a few of the apples and potatoes.

First Post!
I deleted my old tumblr because... man idk why it was covid-times and the prefrontal cortex was not in the room with us!! Anyways, I was reminded by my lovely friend @repecca that tumblr exists, and that some of my work has been going around on here, so I decided to post some of my work up officially! Starting off with my most notable (?) work to date, here's my LOTR: The Middle Kingdom Project. Now, it's been over a year since I posted this, and at the time I was... really searchingfor myself artistically, and I decided to go all in on something that I'd been ruminating on for a long time.
So, hello, again. I'm Leia. I do visual development/BG design, and I'm also a writer of things. I love fantasy and transformative work. It's nice to meet you.

...This ebook sales promotion is going to go live in various places starting tomorrow evening, but I thought I might as well drop it here first. :)
Briefly—you can get 20% off all the ebook bundles at Ebooks Direct through this weekend. Which means the prices drop like this:
The Feline Wizardry Bundle (3 books) drops from $11.99 to $9.56
The LGBTQ Pride Bundle (10 books) drops from $18.99 to $15.20
The All The Wizardry Bundle (19 books) drops from $38.99 to $31.20
and the Whole Store Bundle (35 books) drops from $69.99 to $56.00
So there are two ways to get at the discount:
(a) Use this link to get at the Bundles page at Ebooks Direct. The link has the discount baked in. Pick a bundle from there—don't forget to click on the format you want first, they're right below the price—put it in your cart, and go to checkout. You'll see the discount reflected in the price there.
Or: (b) Click on one of the links above, put the bundle you want in your shopping cart, and on the checkout page, add the discount code 20OFFBUNDLES to the box that says "Add discount code here." Then finish your checkout.
These come with all the usual stuff. Everything's DRM-free; we replace your files for free if you lose them or switch platforms. And when you buy an ebook from us, you own it. We're old-fashioned that way. (And pleased to be.)
UK friends, please note: as usual, we can't sell to you any more because of the Brexit paperwork. We're so sorry about that.
For those who stop in to take advantage of us: thanks, all! (And if you feel like reblogging this for other people's attention, we'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance, if you do.)
*Oh ffs, Ith still has his Zabar's bag, doesn't he. (headclutch)
...Never mind, I'm leaving it there. Knowing those two boys, they'd probably stop in for pastrami on the way home anyway. (Or somewhere closer...)

Finally went and bought an ebook of The Door Into Fire by @dduane and made some food from the setting to celebrate!
It’s oat platebreads, topped with fresh strawberries I plucked today and a drizzle of the spiced honey that has been steeping since I made the honeyed chicken pastries in… April? (I do think I need to work on my technique a bit, though, considering the amount of time I was expecting a bit more punch).
It might be a bit until I get the hang of the proper dough texture - I’d let it stand in the fridge a bit too long and had to dilute it again afterwards - but I can definitely see myself trying that with a lot of different toppings! I could even make the oat flour with my dinky hand blender.

Soooo I found this in my files... and HEAR ME OUT
Tumblr media
It was made around halloween and YES it was HEAVILY inspired by @/insanedementia's own version with these two because it t'was the season and I liked Corpse Bride and the idea wuz rlly good- tho I gave pearly a little twist than emily-
Y'see, Pearl's death is the original "got murdered by fiancé for my money, but I'm still waiting for them by the tree because it was dark and I couldn't tell it was them who killed me."
But over the years, that slowly morphed into "when I fucking see that bastard again, I'm fucking gutting him like a fish-"
Turning her last wish into a ghostly curse... And then Caviar comes along and it's just "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU????"
I got more because my brain is rotted like an old apple with them but I don't wanna go on a tangent-

Nile Catfish Pendant
Egyptian, ca. 1985-1773 BCE (Middle Kingdom, 12th dynasty)
This fish pendant represents a Synodontis Batensoda, more commonly known as the Nile catfish, a species of fish named for its black belly. Often worn at the end of a plait of hair, amulets like this one were used by children and young women to protect against drowning. This fine amulet is made of gold with stone inlays, including a red stone for the right eye and a green stone for the left. Amulets in the form of the Synodontis Batensoda were particularly popular during the Middle Kingdom, when the fish might have been identified with an astronomical constellation.
