Hello ! What kind of Pokémon can we find in France, in the cities near Paris ?
Love whay you're doing !
France, including the area around Paris, is home to a number of wild Pokemon! These include distinctively French Pokemon like Mime Jr. and Furfrou; the largest wild pack of Furfrou lives on the grounds the Palace of Versailles, a few kilometers to the west of Paris. Of course, the area is also famous for its fairy-types, and you can spot flocks of Spritzee and roaming Fidough on the streets of Paris and in nearby towns.
The most popular starter in the Ile-de-France region is Torchic, widely considered the national Pokemon of France. Torchic is beloved not only by trainers seeking a Blaziken to use in battle, but also by non-trainers looking for a warm Pokemon to hug during the winter. Fennekin, Chespin, and Turtwig are also popular starters that can be found in the wild around the area.
One of the rarer sights in the area is Smeargle; France is one of the only countries where Smeargle can be found in the wild. They love to use their tail to paint, and Smeargle-made art is a popular souvenir for tourists. The rarest sight of all is Virizion, which has been seen around Paris though never in the city itself.

So, uh... Was looking something up, and kinda started wondering...
Why? Why are Mime Infestations a thing??
So, technically I did find my answer, which is that "infestation" is not actually a direct translation of the Japanese name for the move,
But that just feels like it shifts things into a different sort of weird...
I get how a mime following you around at like an event space or a big intersection as a street performer kind of humorously mirrors not being able to get away from like, a wasp hounding after your ice cream on a hot summer day. But then the mimes are still the ONLY thing in this list that feels out of place.
Everything else is either a bug, a ghost, or some kind of thing that does kind of infamously swarm or congregate like frogs or tumbleweeds or mold or whatever. So it still makes this synonymous with like... a Plague of Mimes, which is still very funny
