Profiles in Villainy
AKU
Long ago in the vastness of space, a great, formless and mindless entity of evil arose. Before it could do harm to the universe, it was set upon by three deities, each one originating from Norse, Egyptian, and Hindu mythologies. These three deities fought a fierce battle against the black mass and burned the entity almost completely out of existence with their divine power. However, during the battle, one small fragment of the entity was incidentally cut from the whole and was never burned away.
Unnoticed by the deities, that seemingly small fragment floated away from the site of the battle and drifted through space for an untold amount of time, until it eventually came to earth, landing in prehistoric Japan.  Here the entity took root, slowly growing into a forest of black tree-like spikes, which surrounded a tar-like pit at its center, that devoured any living thing that dared to enter.
As this forest of blackness grew, The Emperor took action to put the evil down.  The three deities recognized their old foe and bestowed the Emperor with a powerful sword, the only thing in existence that could defeat the evil.  With this sword, The Emperor believed he had slew the evil, but he was mistaken and it returned with a vengeance.  Now calling itself ‘Aku’ and having gained a twisted and ambitious sentience, the evilness defeated the Emperor and enslaved his people.
Tumblr media
The Emperor’s son, a noble samurai named Jack, took on the task of finally slaying Aku.  Armed with the special sword, Jack nearly succeeded.  Seeing his demise at hand, Aku used its magical abilities to send Jack thousands of years into the future.
Thus Jack found himself marooned in a strange and futuristic realm ruled in entirety by the villainy of Aku.
Aku had bought itself time by sending Jack into the distant future, but the hero still possessed the sword and thus represented a threat to all that is Aku.  The villain sent scores of minions and against after the samurai, but it was to no avail.  Jack fought them all off and tirelessly pursued his goal.
Ultimately Jack was able to destroy Aku, traveling to the past and eradicating the evil before it could take over the world.  The threat of Aku was vanquished and a solemn and weary Jack was finally able to rest.
The amazing Makoto ‘Mako’ Iwamatsu provided the voice for Aku (with actor Greg Baldwin filling in for the show’s final season).  The villain first appeared in the debut episode of Samurai Jack, airing on August 10th, 2001.

Transformers Animated/ Samurai Jack Crossover
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Been think of this AU for awhile and thought it be interesting to explore.
Does anyone remeber the episode Jack and the Flying Prince and Princess?
Tumblr media
Basically what if that scenario happened but with the TFA Bots, them crash landing on that worlds Earth and woken up in Aku and his minions clutches?
Aku accuses the bots of trespassing onto his planet but is more than willing to accommodate them....as prisoners and lab experiments. Optimus and the rest are horrified as Aku calmly states that they will be dissected and studied, with hope the knowledge they gain from their machine bodies could lead to the creation of a robot that could finally defeat...HIM.
Maybe through Aku monolog or through the explanation of an over eager scientist/guard the Bots here the story of The Samurai. How long ago in a distant land Aku, the shape-shifting master of darkness, unleashed and unspeakable evil. But a samurai warrior weilding a magic sword stepped forward to oppose him. Before the final blow was struck Aku tore open a portal in time and flung him to the future were Aku's evil was law. Now the samurai seeks to return to the past and undo the future that belongs to Aku.
And just as Optimus and his team were about to be destroyed and dismembered a small mysterious figure cuts away there bonds and instructs them to escape with him, cutting down any guards who tried to stop them along the way.
This is Samurai Jack.

If you want to hide something perfectly, put it on the most prominent place
If Jack only knew that there are ports that can send you to Aku's castle...
Tumblr media
Of course, there can be some regular or even magical passwords that can know only Aku's minions and spies, still the female spy arrived to Aku through this port without any problems. Unless there's a scanner that checks, whether you're an intruder or a minion/spy... But who knows.

Attention fellow minions:
Apparently Cortex is compiling a list of individuals “hereby banned from Cortex Castle” and that any violations of the decree shall “henceforth immediately result in execution” or whatnot
Amongst the names on the list are Aku Aku, any and all bandicoots, any of the Quantum Masks, any member of Cortex’s family besides Nina, “that guy who sold him a Cadillac without an engine” and Nicolas Cage
Do with that information whatever you want

Samurai Bob and the Nightmare Realm
For context, if I'd actually written out SMG4k's arc, or at least listed all the major alternate universes involved, one of them would have been a Samurai Jack parody with a version of Bob in the starring role, Worm in place of Aku, and the local version of Meggy as a bounty hunter called "Agent 3" who was initially working for Worm to take out Bob, was convinced to help the heroes with the SMG4k situation by her main AU and Avatar (because Avatar Meggy World would've also been A Thing) counterparts, then after the crisis was solved decided to permanently change her ways and travel with Bob for a while.
In this follow-up episode, the two of them are continuing their journey to find a way to destroy Worm and get Bob back to his own time, when they find a village that's seemingly under attack by demons. They decide to help and seek out the source of the monsters, which turns out to be a portal to another universe. Said universe is a version of the SMG Mushroom Kingdom where Luke and Kevin wanted to specifically do horror-comedy bloopers, so most of the Memes in the SMG Mod were Creepypasta-related. The inhabitants, while definitely terrifying and operating on Adams Family Morality Rules, aren't actually evil (apart from characters like Eggman and Wheeler who were already evil normally) and aren't the ones attacking the village. Mostly.
As it turns out, the actual culprits are the local version of Lord Ramagog and his minions, unchanged apart from Ramagog apparently deciding to conquer his game rather than abandon it, who are attempting to conquer the Digital Multiverse starting with Super Mario 64. The portal to the Samurai Bob universe that Ramagog's demons and MK residents keep falling through is just a coincidental holdover from the SMG4k crisis.
As you'd expect, Bob and Meggy decide to team up with the Creepy Crew to take down Ramagog, then close the portal to solve the village's initial demon attack problem and prevent anyone from getting stranded in the wrong universe.

What do you think of the name of CDDH? I think it would fit lot better if it was "Emperor's Demonic Heartbreak" or "Hol Horse's Demonic Heartbreak".
I'm inclined to call it HoHo's Bizarre Adventures actually
The Emperor's Demonic Heartbreak could have been a great and accurate title! :0
When I first saw the 1st volume cover of CDDH about 6 months ago, ngl, I was attracted to read it because of Josuke. Josuke is my favourite JoJo after all. And it was in the title too, Crazy Diamond...? Obviously, I am expecting a Josuke-centric spin-off.
BUT NO.
Instead, it dragged me away from Josuke and had me loving Hol Horse instead. That's why I kept thanking CDDH for getting me to actually abandon a character from another fandom that I had been drawing non-stop for 10 YEARS to hyperfixate on that handsome cowboy.
Now as a fan of both characters, I get it if JoJo fans were into CDDH initially for Josuke. Then in the first few pages, you get mentions of Kakyoin. Now comparing Josuke and Kakyoin with Hol Horse, obviously the favouritism among JoJo fans globally would not favour Hol Horse.
It's a good marketing strategy to put a famous JoJo character as the centre piece, I suppose.
So far I rarely see anyone complained about CDDH being Hol Horse-centric. But even CDDH fans don't often talk much about him.
That said, the title Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak still doesn't make too much sense, seeing how the story's direction went. In Japanese, Demonic Heartbreak (悪霊的失恋 - aku-reiteki-shitsuren) can also be roughly translated to Evil Spirit Heartbreak or Villainous Spiritual Heartbreak. I suppose it can mean two things - one, it's about Josuke finding out what Stands are and learning to control the "evil spirit" i.e. Crazy Diamond without him using rage as a catalyst. Or two, it's about Dio and the effects of his charm and cruelty on his minions.
I'm leaning towards the second, seeing how CDDH is really just about Hol Horse overcoming his past with Dio.
Which now comes full circle to your lovely statement...it should have been "The Emperor's/Hol Horse's Demonic Heartbreak" instead.

"You have failed me for the last time."
"Milord, have mercy. I have always been nothing but loyal."
"And your loyalty is of no more use to me. My last order is for you to gaze down into the abyss."
"Do you hear it? Down there in the Pit of Hate the damned souls of thousands cry and sing their pleas of mercy. And once there, your conciousness will dissolve and you will know no time, only burning hatred and unspeakable suffering as you become part of a single swirling cluster of consciousnesses, begging for mercy, the mercy of a swift death and cessation of existence. Then, in one-hundred years, after you have no more screams to voice and no more tears to shed, and have been reshaped into hate given flesh, you will be free."
After a post about the sound of a black hole, and @teacupballerina saying "Aku presence sfx" I downloaded the audio, tampered a bit and made this drawing and this little story.

The Birth of Aku
Quick disclaimer, this is based off of a mini-comic by @demonangelgirl134 who came up with the story, I just decided to write it out. Luzbel belongs to me, Jeretik and Hagenti belong to her (although I did helped out with the names).
Timeline-wise, this takes place before Lucifer's fall in Roxy's AU. Luzbel tried to make a mindless demon to wreak havoc upon Heaven and the mortal realm, but miscommunicated the conjuring spell and thus came out Aku...as a baby. So then he goes to Jeretik, the Scroll-Keeper, and demands that he gets rid of it somehow. But even though Jeretik works for Luzbel, he still has a heart and refused to kill an helpless baby who was less than a day old, and by some miracle he managed to convince Luzbel that the baby wasn't a complete failure and that they could still teach him their ways, and that's how Jeretik and Hagenti became dads.
Hope you all like it!
————————————————————————
It was a typical day in Hell. Demons moved about their tasks; hunting and gathering, torturing sinners, the usual. And in the center of it all was Kokytos, the darkest and deepest part of Hell. Built skillfully into the giant frozen lake was a tall, dark, menacing castle. A deep moat of lava circled it, with hellhounds and guards positioned at every gate to keep people out, and its residents in.
But every day was never the same in this realm of chaos and fire.
Deep within the bowels of the Devil's palace, all was quiet in the Great Library. Through winding stretches of shelves littered with tomes, some dating back millions of years, a serene silence; a sense of calm flowed like a lazy river. The labyrinthian maze twisted and turned and looped; it was easy to get lost in if you didn't remember your steps.
Despite it’s design, the library was by far the only welcoming part of the castle: well-lit for easy reading with large plush chairs tucked into nearly every available corner. The shelves had long ago grown overcrowded with a nearly uncountable number of books, scrolls, and journals leading the newer additions to be stacked on the ground in haphazard patterns—leaning towers, piles, and even pyramids. The air was dusty, but warm.
Jeretik, the Scroll-Keeper, had already caught himself dozing off a few times before a set of hurried footsteps snatched his attention.
"Jeretik!"
He jumped in his seat and swiftly turned around to see his master, Luzbel, looming in front of him, his hands behind his back and his sulfurous breath coming out in what seemed like heavy pants. Had he ran all the way through the library to find him? And for what reason?
"Y-yes, my Lord?" Jeretik asked, standing up as straight as he could.
"I have a task for you. Do you have a minute?" Luzbel asked.
Jeretik cast a glance at his littered desk. "Y-yes, sire. How may I be of help?"
"Good." Suddenly, Luzbel pulled out a wriggling black bundle and shoved it into Jeretik's arms. The Scroll-Keeper was so surprised that he stumbled back and nearly fell on top of his desk.
Once he got his bearings, Jeretik looked down to see that peeking out of the bundle was a little green face with a white nose. Getting a better look at it, he saw that it was a baby, less than a month old, from the looks of it. It had black skin, tiny spikes all over its arms, and flames that flickered from its eyelids.
Jeretik was so stunned that for a minute, he couldn't move. "…Wha—?" He looked at Luzbel, who was standing with his arms folded, waiting patiently for a response. "Where did this little thing come from?"
"I made it," Luzbel said matter-of-factly, though not without a hint of resentment in his tone. "By accident."
(Earlier that day…)
"Arise, my new minion! Bring darkness and despair across the land and Heavens!" Luzbel roared, the room around him alight with flames as he slammed his trident down into the center of the pentagram, and suddenly a wave of black inky matter spashed up and out from it, slowly forming as the flames died down.
Luzbel watched and waited in anticipation. He had done the ritual perfectly; soon, he would have a brand-new servant to do his dirty work and destroy the Heavens once and for all—
"Aba!"
A childish giggle caught him off-guard. Looking down, his eyes widened and his wing-ears drooped in disappointment as a little black demon sitting on its bottom looked up at him, reaching for him with its tiny claws.
"What the—?! This is impossible! I recited the chant perfectly! Why is it a baby?!" he growled, stomping around while the little thing babbled to himself and patted the ground.
Luzbel looked over his shoulder at the baby. It just laughed at him and got on its hands and knees, crawling steadily towards him. He hissed under his breath; now he'd have to erase this whining inconvenience and start all over again. He turned around just as the baby was less than three feet in front of him and raised his trident high above him, ready to strike a fatal blow.
The baby stopped crawling and its green face fell, sitting down as it looked up at the weapon and the one who held it—the one who made him. It looked at his face, the fury and resentment in his eyes, and its lip started to tremble. Its eyes became misty and a whine started to build up in its throat.
Luzbel heard the start of its cries, and his angry expression faltered. There was no way he could kill a baby that he made and get away with it—not without Jehova finding out. He'd have to find someone who could get rid of it. Someone who hadn't killed before and could use a few body counts.
'Make Jeretik do it,' a voice in his head prompted. 'That weakling couldn't even kill a fly. Tell him to make it suffer for its miserable existence.'
'Tell him to get rid of your mistake.'
(Present time)
Jeretik stood in stunned silence after he processed everything he'd been told.
"So…what do you want me to do with it now?" he asked.
Luzbel looked at him over his shoulder. "Get rid of it," he instructed, pulling out a dagger from his cloak and tossing it to Jeretik.
The Scroll-Keeper looked down at the blade in his hand, which had started to tremble. He swallowed hard, then put on a polite smile.
"I…s-sire, forgive me for voicing my opinion…but…I cannot possibly do this! After all, it's just a baby! The poor thing's less than a day old—"
"JUST DO IT!" Luzbel yelled, his back alight with flames. His sharp tone and loud voice made the baby in Jeretik's arms start to cry. It gripped the Scroll-Keeper's shirt tightly and tucked its face into his chest in an attempt to hide from Luzbel.
Luzbel looked at the baby, then grabbed Jeretik by the collar and tugged him close. "I don't care how you do it. Just. Get it. Done." Then he disappeared in a puff of smoke without another word, causing Jeretik to be dropped, the child still clinging to him.
Jeretik was frozen as the child squirmed in his arms. He could hardly believe what his master was telling him to do. He knew he didn't have the guts to kill anyone. But he also knew that Luzbel wasn't a very understanding being, that was for sure, so they all had to do whatever it took to please him.
Even if it meant killing an innocent baby.
Steeling his nerves, Jeretik let the baby sit on the ground in front of him while he was on his knees and held the dagger above his head, closing his eyes tight. He'd make it quick; it wouldn't even be painful.
So why couldn't he stop his hands from shaking?
A whine made him open one to see the poor thing sniffling in fear, on the brink of tears. It made his heart melt.
He couldn't do it.
The Scroll-Keeper lowered his hand and tossed the dagger away, a clattering sound echoing throughout the library. His eyes became teary with shame and guilt as he buried his face into his hands, his wings curled around him and his tail limp.
"I can't," he sobbed quietly. "I can't do it."
A tiny tug at his sleeve made him look up with damp cheeks to see that the baby had crawled next to him and was pawing at him. It made little cooing sounds that made him feel a bit better.
Smiling gently, Jeretik wiped away his tears and picked up the baby. It weighed no more than a stone, staring up at him with those big, adorable eyes. Innocent and unburdened by any knowledge beyond that of its soft blankets and the arms that cradled it. He had never held such a young creature in all his years, and in that moment, he believed this child was the only being in all of Hell who did not fear him.
The little thing was not dissuaded by Jeretik's claws and horns as it reached a tiny hand up to pull his spectacles off of his face. This child was indeed a bold one. Jeretik experimentally poked it with a claw; the baby shrieked and giggled.
"Now then…" Jeretik mused as he stood back up, taking a seat in his chair once again. "What shall I name you, little one?"
"Aba wa!" the baby cooed, pawing at his ears.
Jeretik chuckled, smiling warmly. He figured he should at least know the child's gender before deciding on a name. So just to be safe, he pulled the waistband of its diaper away to peek down at the fork of its legs. It was a boy.
'You don't know the first thing about taking care of a child,' a voice in Jeretik's head whispered. 'You need help. Big help.'
He'd be lying if he said the voice was wrong. While he was good with youngsters, he didn't know how to raise a child, especially if he had to do it alone. He needed someone to assist him, to help him take care of this little creature.
Thankfully, Jeretik knew just the one.
***
"Hey, Jere," Hagenti greeted as he entered his and his mate's private chambers. "Sorry I took so long, I came as soon as I cou—" He stopped dead in his tracks once he laid eyes on Jeretik sitting next to a basket, and something sleeping in the blankets lining it.
"Jeretik…" he said, his tail flicking gently. "What is that…?"
Jeretik looked up at him, then at the bundle in the basket. "Luzbel…gave me a child that he made by accident…and he wanted me to get rid of him," he explained.
The Scientist's mechanical eye clicked and whirred as he walked up next to his mate to peer into the basket and saw the baby; he was curled up snugly into the blankets, sleeping soundly.
Hagenti was so surprised, he didn't move for a long moment. "Why… why did Luzbel want you to get rid of a baby?" he asked, sitting beside his mate.
Jeretik's hands clenched, and he looked at Hagenti . "I-I don't know…but when I tried to convince him that he wasn't a complete failure and that we could still teach him our ways, he…" He took in a shaky breath before continuing. "To say the least, he…wasn't too happy. He demanded that somehow I kill him." His voice trembled. "But I couldn't. It didn't feel right to me. So I decided to raise him…as my own."
Hagenti's face softened and he reached out to hold his hand. His expression was enough to tell Jeretik that he understood. He shifted himself closer so that they looked like they were joined at the hip. "Well…you have always said you'd like one," he mused.
"Yes…I have," Jeretik said, leaning his head on his mate's shoulder. "I just wish it was under better circumstances."
The Scientist smiled at him and wrapped an arm around his waist, holding him close. "Me too. But I promise that no matter what, we'll take care of him." He tilted Jeretik's head up so that he could look at him. "And I'll be right there with you."
Hagenti leaned in and kissed him tenderly. Jeretik melted into it, and a few moments later they broke away, pressing their foreheads together affectionately as the Scroll-Keeper purred.
The sound of cloth rustling and little cooing sounds made the two look down at the baby, who had woken up from his nap. He squealed and reached for Jeretik, who picked him up and set him on his knee. The infant looked at Hagenti, babbling at him and pawing his coat. The Scientist gently took him from his mate and held him, sticking his tongue out at the little demon. The baby cooed at his mechanical eye and tried to grab it.
"N-no, no! That's not for playing with!" Hagenti said, leaning away from the baby's hands. He just giggled and leaned his head on his chest. Hagenti smiled and held the tiny creature. "So…have you decided on a name for him yet?" he asked.
Jeretik thought about it for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, I have."
"Well, let's hear it then."
Jeretik looked down at the baby in his and his mate's arms with a tender smile. "His name is Aku."

The battle had been arduous, but it had been won. Jack stood among a field of scrap metal, robot minions destroyed all around him, still smoldering from meeting their recent ends. Experienced eyes scanned the remains, the sharp bits of metal never to harm again. It had been an ambush. Aku’s forces must have followed him down this path. The map he had been using, since destroyed in the battle, had been gifted to him by a stranger who had told him about a legend of a magical gateway hidden to the east.
Aku must know I am getting closer to his doom, Jack thought. I must hurry.
He knew Aku would stop at nothing to delay Jack and destroy anything that could give Jack the upper hand. He waded forward through the metal bodies, through and back on to the trail. Although the map was gone, he remembered the way. As he walked, he rid himself of the bits of tattered cloth still clinging to his chest, the upper part of his gi having been shredded in the battle. Although he hadn’t been seriously wounded, he had been cut by the many sharp weapons that had accosted him from all sides, cuts which now stung at his skin as he pulled the remaining cloth away.
He hadn’t made it more than halfway through the forest before something alarmed him. He had felt fine after the battle, but now… he was beginning to feel weak, uncoordinated, and ill. He had tended the wounds as well as he felt he could spare his time and resource, but he hadn’t thought much of the cuts until now. None of them had given him cause for alarm… but it seemed the danger was hidden. Poison! It must have been! The robots from before… they must have had poison on their weapons, to fester in the cuts they created… The moment he had felt it, he had begun to look for plants to cure the effects. He knew many, and much of which could be found in the wild, to treat any suspected poison or to stave off the effects. However, as he began to search, it seemed the forest was getting darker, the air thicker. In moments, just as he had noticed the poison, a fog had descended around the forest, dimming the light, obscuring his vision. It wasn’t long before he couldn’t see barely a stride in front of him, let alone the path ahead or any plants he would need to treat the poison. Despite the setbacks, he continued, although the search only served to weaken him further… with clenched jaw and fists, the samurai forced his body onwards, hoping it was the right direction.
No! I refuse to succumb! I will not! Aku’s minions will not stop me! He repeated the words to himself over and over, sweat and furious determination in his brow as it became more and more difficult to move, to breathe, to think…
His body felt numb, save for the waves of dull pain passing through his veins as he stumbled through the forest, what vision that hadn’t been cut from the mist now dimmed by illness, the samurai struggling blindly to make it out and into the light, every step a stubborn will to continue. It had been hours of this blind wandering, and his body could not take much more, already pushed far beyond the limit where most would have collapsed long before. Pausing to catch himself, he could see the faint silhouette of a figure looming in the fog. Desperation overtook him. He needed a way out now, or it may be too late. He knew not whether it was friend or foe, yet he was forced to take his chances. He took one step forward, towards the shadow, before the world seemed to toss and turn, spinning and twisting, sending him off his feet and to the ground with a hard thump. Shaking hand reached upwards, seeing the figure drawing nearer.
“Please, help me…” He managed to wheeze out in a final effort, before he finally gave in to the poison, the world darkening into nothing.

Hi friend, I have a theory I've been brainstorming:
In the year 2015 when I watched the final episode of Samurai Jack season 5, I saw the scene where the Triseraquins' city, Oceanus, was underwater rather than on the surface like the one from Samurai Jack season 1 ep 9 "Jack Under the Sea" and I ask myself: Why would Genndy put them underwater instead on the surface of the ocean like from season 1? So here are my theories:
They're being targeted by both bounty hunters and drone beatles (sent by Aku) for being rare amphibious beings and an ally to Samurai Jack. So they decide to send their city underwater to protect their loved ones before starting to retaliate against them.
OR
2. Maybe it's just a consequence for Genndy to put them into the bottom of the sea for the final episode of season 5 since I know the Triseraquins are not cowering away from Aku and they're brave and loyal enough to save Jack till their death by Aku's minions in the final battle.
That's just my theories for why they're underwater and not on the surface like from Jack Under the Sea.
What do you think? And take your time.
I genuinely think it's because Genndy didn't rewatch his own show and forgot that the Triseraquins were brought to the surface again and that the Woolies are supposed to stand upright because being ridden was a form of oppression etc.
It's possible that Aku came in after Jack left and fucked them up again, but I doubt it.
In all honesty, I think maybe season 5 takes place in a timeline that split from season 1-4 because the Guardian's portal was looking at a future very different from the one we saw. So any differences between the actual continuity of the show and season 5 can be explained that way.
Aku says he destroyed every time portal before Jack lost the sword, so the split would've had to have happened even before Jack lost his sword. It could have happened in the episode gap, we'll never know.
All I know is my Aku is from the season 1-4 timeline
