Akuma to love song tome 1 de MIYOSHI TOMORI
Akuma to love song tome 1 de MIYOSHI TOMORI Une lecture mitigée !

Mon avis :

Shueisha's Margaret magazine announced on Thursday that it is collaborating with Hulu to produce live-action series adaptations of multiple manga that ran in the magazine, in a new "ongoing" project called "Margaret Love Stories." The first manga to receive a live-action series is Zakuri Satō's Mairu no Vich, debuting on Hulu exclusively this fall with eight episodes. Live-action adaptations of Ayumi Komura's Kami-sama no Ekohiiki (Favoritism of the Gods) and Miyoshi Tomori's A Devil and Her Love Song (Akuma to Love Song) will follow at later dates.

For the ‘Ask the Author’ 😊 Why not share some fictional or non fictional books that inspire you? And how long (approx.) it takes you to finish a first draft? 💖 Have a lovely day! 💖
Hi Candy!!! I’m so happy to get an ask from you, friend! <3 I hope you have a wonderful day too!
Why not share some fictional or non fictional books that inspire you?
So my favourite books are F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gastby, Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, Elizabeth Kostova’s The Historian, Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief, and Zusak’s I Am the Messenger. Of these, I really think The Book Thief and The Historian have influenced me the most, with The Great Gatsby and I Am the Messenger close seconds.
Apart from my favourite books, which I think I’ve harped on enough for five lifetimes, I would have to say that currently I find that Apartment is a bit influenced by elements of magical realism and the overall style found in Haruki Murakami’s After Dark. There’s a particular scene in the book that has stayed with me long after I have put it back on my shelf, and that is one scene where a character is transported into her television for a brief moment in the book - a scene which in some way connects to a very suspicious other character who may or may not have assaulted another woman. (Trying really hard not to give spoilers here!)
This one’s a fun fact (and it’ll be my first time sharing it)! My murder mystery book has an MC called Marie, and the early drafts of her character were somewhat influenced by Maria Kawai from A Devil and Her Love Song by Miyoshi Tomori. (The name similarity is actually a complete coincidence!) I liked the idea of a girl that was completely honest, even to her own and others’ detriment. A character who is blunt and strong in her convictions and who was not altogether liked because of it.
This, I think, resonated with me because I personally have really high moral standards that have at times put me in situations similar to those that Tomori’s character experiences, and I felt that I connected with such a character right away. However, I don’t try to change Marie’s personality to make her more accepted by her peers or community. In fact, I make it a point not to - perhaps because I come from the similar mindset that I do. The story is also less about acceptance & romance & friendship and more about justice and the price that it comes at. (All of my characters have their own inner demons that they battle with, and as a result they aren’t really in a place where they can be romantic - much less friendly - and to do so would really only detract from the story, in my opinion.)
Alright, alright - I think I should stop there before I make the answer even longer than it is!
And how long (approx.) it takes you to finish a first draft?
When I’m not working on anything but my writing, it takes me about a month or two to finish a first draft. I’ve actually tried this with my murder mystery project a few summers ago. I just sat in the same place and wrote, wrote, wrote. I had a 60,000 word manuscript by the end, which was super awesome, but alas, I’ve scrapped that entire manuscript and changed so much about it that it’s no longer relevant!
These days, what with work and tutoring and all the other responsibilities playing tug-o-war with my time and energy, I work at a much slower pace. I’ve been working on the current drafts of my fantasy books for about a year now, and I would say I’m almost done, so I’d say going forward it seems like it’ll be taking me a good 6-months to 1-year (because I’ve been working on Apartment for much less time but I’m almost done with that, too!).
Thanks for the super awesome Qs, Candy!
Celebrate with me! Check out my follower celebration here!

Just wanted to say you're pretty awesome and your art is really cute! Also was curious, what would you say are some of your biggest artistic influences?
Ah thank you so much! That means a lot. ❤ (Also, sorry for the long response. Art is something I don't get to talk about a lot, so I tend to go overboard.)I tend to get inspiration from really anything. I once drew an anime girl based off a design I saw in my couch! As for other artists, I have so many artists that inspire me that it's sort of obnoxious... I guess the major ones have been Svetlana Chmakova, Miyoshi Tomori, Anike Hage, Madeleine Rosca, Bleedman, LavanderTowne, Tofu93 (sometimes does NSFW art), Alan Campos (also does NSFW sometimes), and Slugbox (who's a super NSFW artist, so if you're bothered by that I suggest just not checking out his stuff.)I've always loved how all these artists draw different body types, and tend to use colors that appeal a lot to me. Svetlana was the artist that really got me interested in art though. Her story Dramacon made me want to make comics, and take people on an emotional journey the way hers did for me. Sadly I haven't made a comic yet though.

Manga Giveaway: Anonymous Noise Giveaway Winner
And the winner of the Anonymous Noise manga giveaway is… Chris!
As the winner, Chris will be receiving a copy of the first volume of Ryoko Fukuyama’s Anonymous Noise as published in English by Viz Media. Since the lead character of Anonymous Noise loves to sing, for this giveaway I asked that participants tell me a little about their favorite vocalist from a manga. The individual responses can be found in the giveaway comments, but (as usual) I’ve also compiled a list which includes additional titles as well.
Some of the manga released in English with notable vocalists: Age Called Blue by est em Anonymous Noise by Ryoko Fukuyama Black Bard by Ichiya Sazanami Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad by Harold Sakuishi Cardcaptor Sakura by CLAMP Clover by CLAMP A Devil and Her Love Song by Miyoshi Tomori Gravitation by Maki Murakami Hatsune Miku: Mikubon by Ontama Hatsune Miku: Rin-chan Now! written by Sezu, illustrated by Hiro Tamura K-ON! by Kakifly Kobato by CLAMP Love Com by Aya Nakahara Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun by Izumi Tsubaki Nana by Ai Yazawa One Piece by Eiichiro Oda Otomen by Aya Kanno Popcorn Romance by Tomoko Taniguchi Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi Sensual Phrase by Mayu Shinjo Solanin by Inio Asano Utahime: The Songstress by Aki Wanted by Matsuri Hino Yokan by Makoto Tateno
The above certainly isn’t a comprehensive list but it does have an interesting mix of titles. I particularly appreciate the fact that not all of the manga included are necessarily considered to be music manga–characters with notable singing voices (both good and bad) make appearances in all sorts of stories. Thank you to everyone who participated in the giveaway; I hope to see you again for the next one!
