a part of me wants to talk abt what aras wanting animals to have human rights means in practice (the idea n flaws behind the concept of ‘animal liberation’, what sorta laws aras are trying to or have succeeded in passing n their affect on stuff like pet ownership, working animals, animal sports n agriculture, n how aras tend to view pet ownership by itself in a more negative light) here bc we talked abt it, but also like. idk if i actually want to do that lol.

Brazil's top prosecutor changes stance on Bolsonaro in light of reports of former president ignoring intelligence agency's warnings about covid-19

Brazil’s Federal Prosecution Office on Monday asked the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) to detail all warnings that were presented to former President Jair Bolsonaro with regard to the Covid pandemic.

Newspaper Folha de S.Paulo reported that the intelligence agency produced over 1,000 warnings including projections of the expected human toll the coronavirus would take on Brazil. These documents highlighted the importance of social isolation and pointed out public health risks of delaying effective measures to fight the pandemic.

The Bolsonaro administration sealed all Abin warnings.

Prosecutor General Augusto Aras is exploring whether the reports may justify the opening of new investigations into Mr. Bolsonaro’s conduct in managing the pandemic. Brazil recorded more than 700,000 Covid deaths.

Haha thank you! Honestly writing for Don has been really fun and I do intend to do it more in the future. Apologies once again for an extended silence. I (Mod Lyss) have been swamped with real life stuff and it's taken me way longer than I'd have liked to get stuff done. But we're almost there!

For a more exciting update: our proof book has arrived!! 🎉 We'll be making a few minor edits to the cover (like adding our foiling stretch goal!) but the inside looks fantastic. We can't wait for you all to get these bad boys in your hands!! 😍

Hey there! Just dropping by to share a couple of things that I edited to my liking and thought someone else might like them too. :)

First is Aviolina’s Silent Hill Dishrack. I slaved the dishes to BobLishman’s dishrack. The metal has it’s own texture and there are 5 recolors of the metal included. I removed the clutter from the shelf and added 2 slots. It’s 2,208 polys and can be found in Appliances>Misc for 35 Simoleoms.

Second is Ara-Garahan’s famous shoe rack. The shadow was way too dark, that’s now fixed. It shifts (if you don’t have any of the nifty mods that let you shift just about everything!), is quarter-tile enabled and comes with a bunch of recolors. (Not all are shown, sorry!) It’s still quite high poly, lowering the polys ruined the look almost immediately so I let it be. So: it’s 10,170 polys and can be found in General>Dressers for 100 Simoleons.

VERY IMPORTANT: I DID NOT change the GUIDs of either mesh. If you want the edits and have either of the original meshes, just let the files overwrite. If you want to keep the originals and have the edits? You can change the GUIDs of my edited files if you know how to, that’s fine with me.

Errant could only sigh in defeat as he watched his chat feed delve into chaos as a bidding war for his attention erupted. Again.

Errant: I didn’t do anything, but log on, and say: “Hey everyone, welcome to the stream!” And, boom… another damn bidding war…

His voice went a touch higher as he made fun at his plight as he looked down at it with a tired eyes, and a lamenting voice filled with dread, and regret.

Errant: I mean, one of these events gets me a lot of money. Not a hundred percent of it mind you, I get more like seventy percent of it. The rest gets split between my mods, and the platform for their cut. But, I never ask for these!

Errant: I would ask the mods to stop them, but even they can’t do anything to stop them. It’s like stopping a broken dam: You can’t, all you can do is run, and wait for it to stop…

Errant looked at his monitor as the numbers were rising higher in the triple digits. He could only grin, and bare this oncoming nightmare.

Errant: I know a lot of the girl VTubers have unapologetic simps following them. But, you people… You people are something else!

Errant: I think the worst evidence of simping, bar this is the ones that follow… That follow that one, Schnee sister… The black sheep of the trio. The self proclaimed… Haaa… ‘The slutty one…’

He shook his head as he said that, he hated saying stuff like that, but there was footage of her saying that, so he wasn’t bad mouthing her.

Errant: I’ll level with you chat, I try not to think about the Black Sheep of the Schnee’s. Why you ask, simple; She’s scares me… Good lord does she scare me… I mean… Those eyes…

Errants looked away with fear stricken eyes as a dreadful shudder escaped his bodies.

Errant’s model seeming picked up something in its hands before inquisitively staring at the screen.

No statute of limitations wanted for Brazilian enslavers

Brazil's Attorney General Augusto Aras Monday filed a request before the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to make the crime of “labor analogous to slavery” uneligible for a statute of limitations, which is a constitutional guarantee for defendants, but it is not absolute.

Aras insisted there were cases such as racism where such a constraint does not apply, allowing prosecutions to move on. In his injunction request, Aras asks the STF to ban courts from ruling against prosecuting offenders due to time passed.

“The 'imprescriptibility' now being vindicated advocates as an instrument to rescue the memory and the truth, in the perspective of the right of the victims of the crime of reduction to a condition analogous to that of a slave. The right to memory and truth, especially when it comes to serious human rights violations, is a vector of human dignity,” argued the prosecutor.
