TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — A court in Iran on Thursday ordered the United States government to pay over $4 billion to the families of Iranian nuclear scientists who have been killed in targeted attacks in recent years, state-run media reported.
The largely symbolic ruling underscores the escalating tensions between Iran and the West over Tehran's rapidly advancing nuclear program, with negotiations to restore the tattered atomic accord at a standstill.
Although Tehran has blamed Israel in the past for slayings targeting Iranian nuclear scientists since a decade ago, Iran did not directly accuse its arch-foe Israel in its announcement. Iran has not recognized Israel since the 1979 Islamic Revolution that ousted the pro-West monarchy and brought Islamists to power.
The court mentioned Israel only in saying the U.S. supported the “Zionist regime” in its “organized crime” against the victims.
It's unclear how the court decision, like a raft of previous Iranian cases against the U.S. as the two sides have engaged in a spiraling escalation of threats, would gain traction; there are no American assets to confiscate in the Islamic Republic.
Still, the court branch, which is dedicated to the review of Iranian complaints against the U.S., summoned 37 former American officials, including former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, as well as former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former Iran envoy Brian Hook and former Defense Secretary Ashton Carter.
Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal in 2018 and imposed tough economic sanctions on Iran that severed most of its oil revenues and international financial transactions.
President Joe Biden wanted to return to the accord, but talks have stalled in recent weeks over America’s designation of Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.
Meanwhile, Iran is enriching uranium closer than ever to weapons-grade levels under decreasing international oversight. Earlier this month, Iran removed 27 surveillance cameras of the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency in what its director warned could deal a “fatal blow” to the nuclear accord.
The families of three nuclear scientists who had been killed in targeted slayings, along with one nuclear scientist wounded in an attack, filed the lawsuit in Tehran, the country's state-run IRNA news agency reported, without identifying the plaintiffs. The court ordered that the U.S. pay $4.3 billion in total compensation, including fines.
Iran and Israel have been locked in a shadow war across the Middle East and its waters. That conflict has escalated with the recent suspected targeted killings of Iranian nuclear scientists and military officials. In late 2020, Iran blamed Israel for killing its top nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, with a remote-controlled machine gun while he was traveling in a car outside Tehran.
Iran also has placed sanctions on prominent American political and military officials for alleged “terrorism” and “human rights violations,” in retaliation for the U.S. assassination of Iran’s top commander, Qassem Soleimani, two years ago.
Meanwhile Thursday, the Guard replaced the head of its intelligence arm. Cleric Hossein Taeb will be replaced by Gen. Mohammad Kazemi, the former head of the Guard's security department.
The move follows the deaths of several Guard officers in recent weeks. Taeb was known for his heavy-handed policies toward pro-reform figures since Iran's 2009 post-election turmoil.

Action, Reaction- Israel and Iran
In A Dead Scientists Spawns Misinformation Campaign we discussed the internal strife affecting Iran. The assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, an Iranian military scientist, is the main topic. The amateur nature of the attack makes it obviously the work of a resistance movement opposed to the Iranian Theocracy without the support of foreign powers. It is also obvious the Iranians do not want this…

Terror suspects arrested
The two men, identified as Mohammed Imran, 23, and Mohammed Yunus Saki, 24, were apprehended while trying to steal a motorcycle. They had been experimenting with building and detonating bombs, the reports said.

Nariman Chabad House director Rabbi Israel Kozlovsky shows shrapnel marks from the 2008 terror attacks on the eve of their 10th anniversary in 2018.
(TIMES OF ISRAEL) - Two Islamic terror suspects detained in India in recent days were plotting to carry out a series of bombings and had carried out surveillance of the Chabad House in Mumbai, Indian media reported on Monday.
The reports, quoting sources in the Maharashtra state anti-terrorism squad, said that during an ongoing probe into a local Islamist terror group known as Al-Sufa, two men were arrested over the weekend in the city of Pune.
They were found to be in possession of explosives, drone equipment, laptops and incriminating books written in Arabic. Among the documents found on a phone were pictures of the Chabad House in Mumbai and its GPS coordinates, the reports said.
Seven people were killed by gunmen at the Chabad House in 2008, including emissaries Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg - part of several attacks on Mumbai sites over four days by an Islamist Pakistani group. In total, 166 people were killed and hundreds injured.
Israel's Channel 12 news reported that Israeli intelligence cooperated in the probe leading to the arrest of the two men and that, in coordination with local authorities, security at the Jewish site had been stepped up.
The report said the investigation was looking at a possible link between the suspects and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). However, Indian media reports said the Al-Sufa group, which emerged in 2015, is most likely linked to jihadist groups in Pakistan.
The two men, identified as Mohammed Imran, 23, and Mohammed Yunus Saki, 24, were apprehended while trying to steal a motorcycle. They had been experimenting with building and detonating bombs, the reports said.
There have been several other terror attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets in India.
In 2021, a blast outside the Israeli embassy in New Delhi damaged cars but caused no injuries, in an attack India has said was carried out by the Quds Force branch of Iran's IRGC.
A letter found close to the scene warned the Israeli ambassador that he was being watched and vowed to avenge the deaths of three "martyrs": IRGC commander Qassem Soleimani and top Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdia al-Muhandis, who were killed in a 2020 US drone strike; and Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the architect of Iran's nuclear program, killed in a 2020 attack Tehran has blamed on Israel.
In February 2012, the wife of the Israeli military attaché was injured in a car bomb attack in New Delhi. Indian police concluded that Iran was behind that attack too.
It was part of a series of attempted attacks against Israeli targets around the world attributed to Iran during that period.

Iran has executed British-Iranian national Alireza Akbari, the judiciary’s Mizan news agency reported on Saturday, after sentencing him to death on charges of spying for Britain. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said on Friday that Iran must not follow through with the execution of Akbari, a former Iranian deputy defence minister. Britain had described the death sentence as politically motivated and called for his immediate release. “Alireza Akbari, who was sentenced to death on charges of corruption on earth and extensive action against the country’s internal and external security through espionage for the British government’s intelligence service … was executed,” Mizan said in a tweet. It accused him of receiving 1,805,000 euros, 265,000 pounds, and $50,000 for spying. In an audio recording broadcast by BBC Persian on Wednesday, Akbari said he had confessed to crimes he had not committed after extensive torture. Iranian state media broadcast a video on Thursday that they said showed that Akbari played a role in the 2020 assassination of Iran’s top nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, killed in a 2020 attack outside Tehran which authorities blamed at the time on Israel. In the video, Akbari did not confess to involvement in the assassination but said a British agent had asked for information about Fakhrizadeh. Iran’s state media often airs purported confessions by suspects in politically charged cases. Reuters could not establish the authenticity of the state media video and audio, or when or where they were recorded. Ties between London and Tehran have deteriorated in recent months as efforts have stalled to revive Iran’s 2015 nuclear pact, to which Britain is a party. Britain has also been critical of the Islamic Republic’s violent crackdown on anti-government protests, sparked by the death in custody of a young Iranian-Kurdish woman in September.

The US And Israel Are Weaponizing Iran Protests
Tumblr media
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently blamed the US and Israel for the ongoing widespread protests in Iran. He said that the riots had been “engineered” by Iran’s arch-enemies and their allies.
The statement came after Israel and the US governments lent their support to the protests.
US Response
The US government said that it was “appalled” by the violent response to the protests. President Joe Biden expressed grave concern about reports of the “intensifying violent crackdown on peaceful protesters”. According to him, those protesters were calling for “just and universal principles”. He added that the US “stands with Iranian women” who were “inspiring the world with their bravery”. The US also hit Iran with more sanctions. Iran’s interior and communications ministers and several law enforcement leaders were targeted for sanctions.
Israel’s Propaganda
Israel has been running a propaganda campaign on its official social media handles. The official handles shared several videos showing Israeli women standing up with Iranian women.
Widespread protests in Iran were provoked after the tragic death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in police custody. The protests are led by women. Some men are also standing up to the women and their demands.
Ayatollah’s Statement
The supreme leader’s statement has the backing of history. Those who are unaware of Iran’s history, the US intervention in countries like Afghanistan to save women and Israel’s purple-washing in Palestine, might dismiss Ayatollah’s statement. They might think that the Ayatollah is looking for a reason to suppress protests and justify the violent repression.
However, there is more truth to the statement than meets the eye.
Iran’s Experience with the US and Israel
When we read about Iran’s recent history, for some reason it always starts with the Islamic Revolution of 1979. However, this author believes that Iran’s recent history should always begin from 1953.
In 1953, the United States and Britain launched a joint operation through the CIA and MI6 to overthrow the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh. Mosaddegh had tried to nationalize oil companies and reclaim Iran’s oil from the British.
Further, one year after the Islamic Revolution, a CIA agent sneaked into Iran and took out six American diplomats who were staying in the Canadian embassy after the hostage crisis.
There have also been recent operations by Israel inside Iran. Israel’s Mossad assassinated Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in November 2020. Mossad carried out the assassination using A. I. and remote control. Additionally, Mossad has killed 5 and wounded one Iranian nuclear scientist in several attacks since Iran began trying to acquire a nuclear bomb.
Weaponizing Feminist Movements
The West and Israel claim to stand up for women’s rights around the world. However, they have done more damage to these movements than anyone else by weaponizing the feminist movements.
One of the reasons given by the US to invade Afghanistan was to save the women of Afghanistan. The then-First Lady Laura Bush delivered a speech in 2001 in which she justified the invasion of Afghanistan to protect the women of Afghanistan from the brutal oppression of women.
Israel has also co-opted feminist struggles in order to justify the Zionist movement. It claims to rescue Palestinian women from the evil men of Palestine. It grabs the gender equality slogan to divert attention from its human rights abuses in Palestine.
However, when it comes to women like Shireen Abu Akleh whom Israel kills for doing their duty, Israel conveniently parts its way with feminism.
Right now, what we are seeing in Iran is no different from Afghanistan or Palestine. Israel’s government and its women are standing with women because they hate Iran. They do not care about Iran’s women. It is just that they want Iran to perish from the earth.
Similarly, the US does not care about women’s struggle in Iran. The US does not allow its female citizens the right to choose when it comes to abortion.
It is also interesting that neither the US nor Israel stands up for the feminist activists of Saudi Arabia who are languishing in jails for small acts of defiance. The US never sanctioned Saudi rulers for oppressing women.
Perhaps Israel and the US have this wishful thinking that somehow they could use this uprising to oust the current regime in Iran.
Conclusion
Iran’s previous president Hassan Rouhani had given more leeway to women in Iran. There was a gradual change happening in Iran. However, Mahsa Amini death led to an uprising that has now been hijacked by Iran’s enemies. As a result, Iran seems to consider the current uprising a national security issue.
The West and Israel should leave Muslim women for themselves. They should not be in the job of rescuing Muslim women. It would be more helpful if they do not selectively stand with Muslims of a particular country. They turn feminist movements into national security issues and hence do a disservice to the feminist struggles.

The Pentagon on Thursday night blamed Kataib Hezbollah and another militia group backed by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for recent attacks in Iraq. President Joe Biden approved the strike - which killed at least one member of a Kataib Hezbollah-affiliated militia - in response to recent rocket attacks on US-led coalition bases in Iraq and the Green Zone in Baghdad. Limpet mines are attached with magnets.įriday’s explosion came just hours after the United States conducted an airstrike against a border-crossing facility used by Iran-linked militias in Syria. Iran’s government denied a role in those attacks, but has not yet commented on today’s incident. The Pentagon subsequently released surveillance footage showing individuals in what appeared to be an Iranian-made boat removing a limpet mine from the side of one of the two damaged Saudi-owned tankers. The US military publicly blamed Iran for the incidents. Similar mysterious explosions struck two Saudi oil tankers near the Hormuz Strait in 2019, as well as two other ships. Kan quoted Ungar as saying that the two holes are roughly 1.5 meters (5 feet) in diameter and that “it is not yet clear to us if this was caused by missile fire or mines that were attached to the ship.” The ship is owned by the Tel Aviv-based Ray Shipping company, whose head, Rami Ungar, has ties to Mossad chief Yossi Cohen, Israel’s Kan broadcaster reported, without naming sources. Reuters reported that an explosion above the ship’s water line caused holes in both sides of its hull, but that the vessel and crew were safe. It was believe that the vehicle carrier was headed to Dubai to assess the damage. The crew reported no injuries and the vessel continues to sail back toward the strait, according to an open-source maritime tracking website. The vessel, the MV Helios Ray, quickly turned around and headed for port around 1 a.m. morning after departing from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Mv helios ray series#
Iran also has blamed Israel for a recent series of attacks, including a mysterious explosion last summer that destroyed an advanced centrifuge assembly plant at its Natanz nuclear facility and the killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a top Iranian scientist who founded the Islamic Republic’s military nuclear program two decades ago.An Israeli-owned cargo ship suffered at least one explosion while sailing in the Gulf of Oman on Friday in the latest such maritime incident in the Middle East. The Sunday report speculated the ship may have been “trapped in an ambush by a branch of resistance axis,” referring to Iranian proxies in the region. The country’s hard-line Kayhan daily, whose editor-in-chief was appointed by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, alleged the Helios Ray was “possibly” on an “espionage” mission in the region, without offering any evidence to support the claim. Iranian authorities have not publicly commented on the ship. Israeli ambassador to the US, Gilad Erdan, told Israel’s Army Radio on Sunday that “it was no secret that the Iranians are trying to harm Israeli targets” and alleged the explosion on the ship bore the hallmarks of other Iranian attacks. The Israeli-owned cargo docked in Dubai’s port for repairs Sunday “Tensions between Israel and Iran remain fraught, especially in light of increased signs of rapprochement between Iran and the Biden administration,” Dryad said. “We have no idea if this is an incident that is part of the tensions between Iran and the United States and if it has to do with the fact that the owner of the ship is Israeli.”ĭryad Global suggested Iran could be behind the blast, noting the incident comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and the Islamic republic. “But it is not yet clear to us whether it was caused by missile fire or mines attached to the ship,” he added. It did cause “two holes about a meter and a half (five feet) in diameter” in damage, he said, without elaborating. Rami Ungar, an Israeli businessman who owns the Helios Ray, told Kan on Friday that the explosion did not cause any casualties among the crew or damage to the engine. “This is an initial assessment that takes into account the proximity (with Iran) and the context” in which the blast occurred, he added. “The location of the vessel, relatively close to Iran at the time, raises the belief that Iran was responsible, but it must still be verified,” Gantz told Israeli state television Kan. The MV Helios Ray, a vehicle carrier, was travelling from the Saudi port of Dammam to Singapore when the blast occurred on Thursday, according to the Dryad Global maritime security group. JERUSALEM-Israeli defence minister Benny Gantz said on Saturday his “initial assessment” was that Iran was responsible for an explosion on an Israeli-owned ship in the Gulf of Oman overnight between Thursday and Friday.

WhatsApp Fraud Mode That Can Take Over Your Account If You're Not Alert
Tumblr media
The fraudulent mode on social media is increasingly widespread as the number of social media users, including WhatsApp.
The WhatsApp messaging application is indeed very useful for communicating with friends, family, and coworkers.
However, if you are not aware of the fraudulent modes in it, your account may be taken over by irresponsible people to seek profit from your friends, family, and even your co-workers.

This mode was experienced by a blogger named Fachry Ali. He asked the public to be more careful.
"Be careful with this kind of mode that wants to take over our Whatsapp," he wrote, quoted by oxibox from the @fbajri account tweet on Friday, November 27, 2020.
He slipped four screenshots from his cellphone related to the fraud mode.

Iran has replaced a leading security chief after he was implicated in an alleged MI6 operation that passed top secret data about the regime's nuclear programme to Israel.
On Monday, Iran's president said he was replacing Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of the supreme national security council, with a top member of the Revolutionary Guard. Mr Shamkhani had earlier resigned from the role according to state media reports.
According to US and Iranian media reports, Mr Shamkhani was an ally of Alireza Akbari, the British-Iranian politician who was executed by the regime in January on charges of spying for MI6 on its nuclear programme.
In an audio recording obtained by BBC Persian, Mr Akbari can be heard saying that he gained high-level intelligence from Mr Shamkhani by offering him perfume and a shirt.
A recent New York Times report also stated that Mr Akbari had been passing on such information to Britain, which then allegedly handed it to Israel, including sensitive data on Iranian nuclear sites.
An escalating ‘shadow war’
Mr Akbari is said to have also revealed the identity and activities of more than 100 Iranian officials, including Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Iran’s chief nuclear scientist, who was later assassinated by Israel.
Israel regards Iran’s nuclear programme as an existential threat and in recent years has ramped up attacks on Iranian nuclear scientists and infrastructure as part of an escalating “shadow war” with the regime.
While Britain has not acknowledged claims that Mr Akbari was an MI6 spy, the replacement of Mr Shamkhani suggests that a major breach of Iranian national security occurred, in a significant blow to the regime.
It also suggests that MI6 managed to obtain secret data on Iran’s nuclear activities which had until then eluded other Western spy networks.
Mr Akbari’s relatives have previously dismissed suggestions he was a spy and said he was the victim of a “political game” in Iran. It was reported before his execution that he was extensively tortured before confessing to being a spy.
Mr Shamkhani's replacement was named as Ali Akbar Ahmadian, a former head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp’s strategic centre. He is also a former naval commander and sits on the powerful expediency council, which advises the Iranian supreme leader.
Meanwhile on Monday Israel accused Iran of converting ships into armed “floating terror bases” that could be used to attack trade routes.
Speaking at a security conference in Israel, Yoav Gallant, the defence minister, said the regime was fitting drones, missile systems and intelligence equipment onto commercial ships in the Gulf.
“The floating terror bases are an extension of Iran’s ongoing maritime terrorism, as seen in its actions in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea. Iran aims to expand its reach to the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea and even the shores of the Mediterranean,” Mr Gallant told the Herzliya Conference.
“This is a structured plan designed to threaten trade and flight routes – both military and civilian – and to create a permanent threat in the maritime arena,” he added.
Vessels with links to Israel
The regime is suspected of launching a string of attacks on ships in the Gulf region over the past few years, most notably a drone attack on the Mercer Street vessel in 2021 which killed a British sailor and a Romanian captain. Tehran denied responsibility for the incident at the time. Several other recent attacks have targeted vessels with commercial or indirect links to Israel.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, has threatened military action against Iran’s nuclear programme unless it grinds to a halt, whereas Tehran repeatedly insists it is not making nuclear weapons.
However, UN atomic inspectors recently found uranium enriched at 84 per cent at Iranian nuclear sites, which is just short of the threshold for a bomb.
It is not the first time Iran has been accused of converting ships for military purposes. Satellite imagery published in January by H I Sutton, an open source security analyst, suggested that Iran's navy is converting merchant vessels into drone aircraft carriers.
Two years ago, in January 2021, Iran unveiled a warship named the Makran which had been converted from a former oil tanker, which also appeared to have drone launch capabilities.
