WHY Iñaki HAS BEEN Luffy SINCE THE BEGINNING!!!

A summarised history of Iñaki Godoy Jasso and his parallels to Monkey D. Luffy

I'm sure Iñaki tried to keep his composure so hard. (Our Cry Baby) But on his way home he broke down in tears and laughter (Such a Joyful boy)

Just to make this video even stronger; Iñaki's goals as a child were to make people laugh and to use his genuine smile to make others smile. He CRAVES freedom too!

And at one point he even wanted to become a competitive eater, 'cause HE LOVES FOOD!

How much did he want to reach his goals? He was once bailed on by one of his partners in a play where he had the role of the mischievously grinning Cheshire Cat (Also fitting wtf) He was like 8???

And while he was panicking at first, he improvised his way out of it, saw the smiles and laughter of the crowd and DID NOT WANT TO GIVE UP. He felt the freedom of acting and expression and the joy of seeing people laugh. He literally said he wanted to continue acting CAUSE OF FREEDOM!!!

He later pursued comedy, 'cause of his love of cheering people up...

"Sometimes, an honest smile is more than enough."

He values smiling and making others smile. And just like Iñaki, one of Luffy's key assets is his wide smile! So when Iñaki did his research on Luffy he didn't want to make it too complicated at first. He narrowed him down to that smile we love and aimed to perfect it. And of course, as the smiley person he is it came naturally.

This also kinda parallels Luffy's "Don't care about the story, just get me to do something." mindset. In this case, Iñaki going for an audition kind of blind, then simplifying Luffy's character and then building on it with 100% determination is so reminiscent of our boy. He ended up appreciating and admiring Oda-Sensei so much after getting involved. And making him laugh came naturally to him as well.

Helping people is important!

He loves doing charity things. Especially knowing his little sister endured a lot of hardships, he as a young child did a campaign against bullying and to raise awareness... "The Jasso-Godoy Family are the group leaders of CAP Grupo Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico and their own non-profit!!!"

"Mia is beautiful the way she is. Any way she is, I'd still love her. If there is someone at school... or anywhere, be nice to them, okay? I am her brother."

He is very flexible in ways he can do so many things, versatility, but also physically, he loves jumping around and doing tricks and even when he gets hurt he smiles, cause he learned from it and had fun...

In this video he is introducing himself and talking about his versatility. Saying "Whatever you want me to do, I'll be at your service." So if you have goals in your movie or show, he will do his utmost best to make it a reality.

Always a Pirate

He has also always had something with the sea and pirates... Foreshadowing

In the same TikTok he was talking about his mischief he showed us a pic of him as a kid, where he is wearing a pirate themed Spongebob T-Shirt. EVEN THE POSE IS VERY LUFFY!

In one of his Insta posts, while he was on his 80 day trip around the Caribbean he posted an even older pic of him and his sister Mia WEARING PIRATE OUTFITS.

I immediately said he bares a striking resemblance to young Luffy smiling.

UNCANNY!!!

So in the end...

Even without mentioning any of these childhood things Iñaki experienced before finding One Piece. Just that short audition clip made Oda laugh instantly and overwhelmed Oda with Luffy vibes. JUST FROM IÑAKI'S GENUINE ENERGY!!!!!

So people saying Oda's Haki predicted Iñaki is like... I could kinda believe that. Or maybe the reason why the Live Action did not start production till about 4 years later, is because we had to wait for Iñaki to grow up to the same age as Luffy, 17, for Oda to meet the person who best represents his beloved main character.

He is nervous to meet his S/O’s parents because he isn’t that good with in social settings but he does want to make a good impression. He is awkward at first but once he gets comfortable, he does talk quite a bit.

He is a complete nervous wreck and he’s really awkward around his S/O’s parents, and they can definitely tell how he’s feeling. He tries his best to impress them, but ultimately they just like him because he’s really cool and funny at the same time.

He’s a complete charmer with his S/O’s parents, and they immediately love him because of how authentic he is and how sweet he is. He definitely makes his intentions know that he would like to marry his S/O and he gets their blessing for that.

He feels really odd and awkward to be around his S/O’s parents because he knows he has to tone down how he normally is just so that they could like him somewhat, and that this could make his S/O feel at ease when it comes to their parents and him. He keeps a pretty casual and respectful as much as he can.

Rosinantè Donquixote aka Cora-San💕

He definitely wants to make it a good impression because he wants his S/O’s parents like him, because he’s intentions are to marry his S/O. He’s definitely as clumsy as ever, but he also makes a joke out of it so that keeps his S/O parents at ease. They genuinely like him.

Who’s Who ❤️‍🔥👹

He never got along with his parents so he doesn’t really know what it’s going to be like when he’s with his S/O’s parents, and this is the first time a relationship got this far where he’d need to meet them. He makes an effort by wearing a closed shirt and not smoking that much during dinner.

Gecko Moria🦇

He finds this to be a major inconvenience for him as he doesn’t want to entertain his S/O’s parents but he does it because it will probably make them feel better. He doesn’t put too much of an effort and has a pleasant dinner with them. Everyone on his ship had to be on their best behavior.

Iceburg💜

He is nervous to meet his S/O’s parents because he knows that their relationship is getting more serious. He doesn’t brag or anything but rather tells them of his humble beginnings. He also tells them of how he and his S/O met and eventually fell in love. It’s important to be his authentic self with them and they appreciate that.

Gild Tesoro⚜️🏅

He takes his S/O’s parents parents to the most grand parts of his ship/island and spoils them rotten as he does with his S/O. He wants them to know that he can take care of his love and that they mean a lot to him. He definitely leaves a good impression on them.

He is a classy man so he makes sure to take his S/O’s parents to somewhere fancy where they could dine and talk. He wants to make a good impression so he tells them more about himself and his values and also most importantly why he cares so much for his S/O.

I still can't believe people don't think she's vital to the endgame. She is SO important in finding the one piece and figuring out whats up with the void century. They seriously could not do it without her, or at least it would be a whole lot harder. And even then, she's a valued member of the crew regardless. They love her and she loves them and that's all that matters.

I actually have so many thoughts about this you have no idea. I'm very normal about Nico Robin.

PREFACE: Okay so this is a very silly theory that is almost entirely opinion based/gut feeling related. I'm not an expert at anything and this is not at all in-depth. It does not change the core of the story in any way with regards to Luffy and Robin’s relationship. To me, it already reads as a sibling relationship, and I find it incredibly endearing and sweet - the found family aspect being super important. I just also think it would be very sweet if Robin had a little actual family left after the events of Ohara, especially someone who she already very much cares about. SPOILER WARNING. THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR EGGHEAD, SO AS A PRECAUTION I SUGGEST BEING CAUGHT UP!

At a glance, Luffy and Robin are polar opposites. Luffy is loud, boisterous and impetuous. Robin is quiet, reserved and calculated. HOWEVER, these are two sides of the same coin. They are both very intelligent, but where Robin is incredibly book smart, Luffy has intuition that could rival the gods. There is an overlap where, inexplicably, they understand each other without really having to say anything - moreso than some of the other Straw Hats. The most common example being in Zou when Luffy was trying to recall the name of Marco from the Whitebeard pirates.

They share a wavelength, and it’s not just this. Luffy has always been particularly blunt - so has Robin. Even as far back as Ohara.

I can dig up examples of Robin and Luffy both being blunt/grim, but I think if you’ve watched the series/read up until this point you’ve seen it. Luffy tells Coby in the first episode that he hates him. He tells Shirahoshi he doesn’t like her because she cries. Robin’s entire schtick is that she says something out of pocket.

Coming back to the notion that they're polar opposites and yet two sides of the same coin: The potential Sun and Moon symbolism. This one I won't go too much into, because it's entirely conjecture, but we know Luffy is the Sun God, but what in the world is up with Robin's DF and why does it seem like it's in the moon carvings?

Nothing is really confirmed because I don't think they've really discussed Demonio, but if we get a reveal later that the Hana Hana no Mi is ALSO more than just a paramecia, I would just not be surprised. In any case, the potential for the Sun and Moon siblings is just fun to me, so take that with a grain of salt (like this entire post).

Monkey D Dragon - The deadbeat dad himself. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was two for two. So we know a fun little tidbit from one of the more recent chapters, and that's the fact that not only did he know of Ohara's existence (and subsequent nonexistence), he visited to pay his respects and promptly started the Revolutionary Army as a direct result of the Buster Call on Ohara. It's not evidence of any familial connection, but it's also not not evidence, you know? He is of age, and the only mention of Nico Olvia’s husband is vague and alludes to him possibly being dead, but we have no confirmation on that yet. Olvia has white hair, which Robin very clearly does not. She, Luffy and Dragon all have the same hair color. It’s a common hair color, so again. Not evidence. But also not not evidence. We know he was looking for her since she was the survivor of Ohara, but that could always be a cover. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he started the revolutionary army because of Ohara and sought the one survivor for 20 years, that’s all I’m saying here. It very well could be, but a girl can dream.

IN SHORT: They are the Sun and the Moon to me, and I think that it's an entirely possible reveal, but it also means nothing to the overall story. She is already his sister tbh. Robin deserves all the family and love in the world, and Luffy also does. I WISH I was better at putting things together, but here are some thoughts LOL. Luffy and Collector: Gods of Joy, Children of Heart

I don't know about you but Collector reminds me of Luffy from One Piece in the sense that Collector is what Luffy would have been if he didn't have good adult figures in his life and didn't have healthy relationships with other people.

Both are characters who highly value freedom, and they have a playful nature and just want to have fun, so much so that they even play children's games like tag. Luffy wants to be Pirate King because he wants to be free to do whatever he wants and Collector just wanted to be free from his confinement. But Luffy has emotional intelligence and moral maturity so he doesn't take away the freedom of others while Collector simply doesn't have these things and doesn't realize that his actions are wrong. Their desire for freedom is evident in their family history. Luffy was the grandson of Monkey D. Garp, a Navy vice admiral who is recognized as the hero of the marines for finishing off Rocks D. Xebec, and Garp wanted Luffy to be a marine but Luffy doesn't want to be. On the other hand, Collector comes from a race that preserved the lives of other beings by force and destroyed those who opposed them like the titans

while Collector didn't like the extermination that his species did with the titans

and it even seems that he is afraid that King will judge him for this.

If there is something that Luffy has that makes him stand out from other shonen protagonists, it is that he is selfish. We know this from his meat speech in which he says that he doesn't want to be a hero because he would have to share his meat and he doesn't wants to share his, he wants to be the Pirate King because he wants to be free and fulfill his secret dream, which until now we don't know what it is and the only thing that is known is that Gol D. Roger also wanted the same thing, he destroyed governments and caused wars with the sole purpose of does what he wants or simply saving someone because he finds it interesting or funny, and Collector also does this. This selfishness is seen even in his friendships as Luffy drags his crew to any place that is dangerous and always chooses to go to those places the hard way because he wants to have adventures and have fun just like Collector just wants to play and have fun with those he considers them his friends.

But Luffy has a balance between his egoism and disinterest because Luffy does what he wants and what he wants is for him and his friends to be happy and free but collector doesn't have that balance, which makes him more dangerous.

The reason why Luffy has kindness, morality, emotional intelligence and doesn't take his selfishness to the extreme is because he has healthy adult figures who have helped him establish his moral values and Collector doesn't.

To begin with, Luffy meets Shanks and his crew and seeing how free and carefree Shanks was, he wishes to be a pirate like him. After eating the Gomu Gomu no mi and he is involved in an incident with some bandits who disrespected Shanks and Luffy tries to take revenge but they kidnap him and Shanks saves him but not before losing an arm protecting him from a sea king and before Shanks gives his straw hat to Luffy, telling him to give it back to him when he is a big name pirate.

This whole incident makes Luffy admire Shanks and molds his way around him.

Later his grandfather Garp, as I said before, wants Luffy to be a marine so he trains him to the extreme to be strong since he was a child and when he found out about Luffy wanting to be a pirate leaves him with Dadan and the mountain bandits.

While Collector has never had a positive interaction with adults throughout his life. The other Collectors just wanted to preserve things and destroy anyone who got in the way and Belos has been manipulating him for 400 years.

And while Luffy already has a strong moral, it's his relationship with his friends that helps him mature. Vivi teaches him that he cannot solve everything with violence, Zoro teaches him that being the captain of his crew he must take his role seriously so that others respect him, Ace's death teaches him that he must strengthen himself and even before everything Luffy himself admits that there are things he cannot do alone, such as lying, navigating or using swords, and he needs other people to do what he cannot and this is something that Collector needs to learn but he hasn't had the chance until he meets King.

But despite the fact that I mentioned earlier how Luffy and Collector are both selfish and how Luffy has a balance between selfishness and selflessness and Collector doesn't, at the same time they both respect their friends, trust them and are extremely protective of them. Luffy would never trample on the dreams of his family and crew and he'll get mad at anyone who tries to hurt them and Collector, despite taking King with him, doesn't take François by force and never violates his privacy and only does so because Belos told him to and he got mad at Terra for insulting King and turned her into a doll for it.

One thing that Luffy and Collector have in common is their hatred of loneliness. Luffy meets Ace and Sabo after living with Dandan and Ace acts mean towards him but Luffy doesn't react meanly towards him but seeks to talk to him. Then he finds out that Ace and Sabo hid a treasure that they got from some pirates and they wanted to use said treasure to create their own pirate crew and they tied it up, then the enemy pirates look for the treasure and seeing that Luffy knew Ace these pirates left, they take him and hit him to make him say where the treasure is but Luffy doesn't say anything and when Ace and Sabo saw this they decided to help Luffy. Then Ace asks him why he helped them and didn't tell the enemy pirates where his treasure was even though he and Sabo treated him badly, Luffy replies saying that he didn't say anything because he wanted to be friend with them because he didn't want to be alone.

Collector on the other hand helps Belos and later helps King because he wants to be free but above all because he doesn't want to be alone anymore. He considered Belos his friend before he betrayed him by trying to kill him by throwing his disc into the void and he considers King his best friend and loves hanging out with him, Collector is so desperate not to be alone that he agrees to befriend anyone who treats him good.

Another thing that Luffy and Collector share is the nature of their powers as their powers are dangerously destructive, they can even modify reality and the only limit they have is their imagination but they both use it in a funny way. Basically, they are both gods who spread joy and fun through their powers but can be dangerous if left out of control.

Luffy possesses the Gomu Gomu no mi (whose real name is Hito Hito no mi, model: Nika) which gives him the freedom to shape and stretch his body however he wants, he is quite creative with his power and he doesn't care if he or his techniques looks ridiculous. We see this with some improvised techniques and we even see it with his Gears and Gear 5 is the maximum expression of all the above mentioned.

In his Gear 5 form, Luffy can turn everything he touches into rubber, from objects to people, thing that he takes advantage of to do techniques like this.

even in his fight against Lucci he creates goggles with his hair before attacking him.

Collector has cosmic powers. He taught Belos the draining spell and he was able to move the moon with his finger but we see that he has a preference for using his powers in a fun way and he doesn't care if his magic looks childish while using it: uses his powers to turn others into dolls,

creates a castle with a part of the Titan's skull,

and even uses a star to travel.

Interestingly Luffy and Collector share certain physical traits: they both have markings under their left eyes (Luffy's signature scar and Collector's star-shaped freckles) and when Luffy is in his Gear 5 form he takes on an appearance that makes him more similar to Collector (white hair, red eyes, white clothes with purple).

Another curious fact is that both relate to each other since Luffy is linked to the sun and collector is linked to the moon and stars and in the culture the sun and the moon always intertwine making them complementary in addition to the fact that the moon has no light own and reflects that of the sun. This could be interpreted as Collector and Luffy are the same but Collector doesn't have maturity and emotional intelligence (the moon lacks its own light) that Luffy has (the sunlight) but is trying to learn that maturity and emotional intelligence (moon reflects the sunlight).

One Piece posting

So I've recently catched up with the One Piece manga (as of now, chapter 1100) and have some things to say. (unmarked spoilers for OP below)

I have read One Piece since 2015, and my modus operandi always is to wait a bunch and read a significant block of chapters, ideally a years worth. Factoring that in, I can finally say the Wano arc really tested my patience.

Wano is the longest arc in the series! And i'm not talking the saga (that started ten years ago) Im talking the get-in-the-island get-out-the-island part! Luffy got in Wano in early July, 2018 - and left mid August, 2022, that's four years! And the final showdown in Kaidou's base, the climax of two years of preparations, politics, backstory - took two whole years to boot. It was kinda sad, getting my fresh one piece dose and it's 50 chapters of the same of last year! I glad that is over!

Luffy is a zoan-user now, and I saw a good comment stated by a very vanilla wish-fulfillment-protagonist in a isekai one piece fic: Zoan users are - as stated on the manga by various sources - shaped by the animal of the devil-fruit they eat. Carnivorous zoans are more agressive, and so on - this is heightened when the user awakens, sometimes with the user losing their personality and becoming a single minded beast, as was the case with the mino-animals in Impel Down. The point here is: Would a devil-fruitless Luffy be all that friendly and freedom fight-y, had he not eaten the fruit of the Laugh-and-Freedom-Fight-GOD? Was he always like this, or did the Nika inside him ate the person and left the shonen protag? I (like the fic MC that made the coment) don't think one piece is this kind of story - and when we find out what is luffys True Dream (that being Pirate King is only a stepping stone to) is, it will probably be something very Nika like, even if the dream is older than the God-Possession.

We got Bartolomew Kuma's story and ho boy, is it a kick-in-the-feelings. Oda loves mistreating us, it's sadness porn all the time, but we are masochists and keep coming back for more. The World Nobles are like a whole nation of Jeoffrey Baratheons, really gives me the desire to cross the screen and strangle them one by one.

Oda takes his sweet time introducing loads and loads of new characters and going out on tangents, but I gotta give it to him: I fully believe that when one piece ends, there will be little to none loose strings - the man will lay everything on paper, from the backstory of the world to that of significant major players. In this stretch after Wano, we already got a lot of Revolutionary backstory covered, and also the God Valley - a central point in Garp and Rocks pirates lore.

In the same vein, I like how Oda gives us a progressively more clear view of the past: Legends become events you see in person, and legendary figures become humane. When One Piece started, Gold Roger was this paragon, unattainable pinnacle of a pirate, a very much tell don't show kinda deal. Now we know how he fought, what he liked, how he behaved - And it's nothing 'out of this world' - we even know his bounty and how it compares with those alive today, and it's a value that it's high, but not absurd. A slightly more expensive yonko, but yonkos are - today - beatable antagonists.

Do you think espers like being referred too as their diety/benefactor? I often see people call Ling and Xuan Nezha and Wukong so it makes me think about how they'd feel about being called that

Depends. How do people, in general, feel about being called a name that isn't theirs? How is the name being used? What's the connotation of it being called out?

I think every individual esper would have different feelings on being referred to as their benefactor. Sure, if the intent isn't malicious or done in bad taste, I'm sure they wouldn't mind it, but a name is very special to people- in different ways. You have to account for level of familiarity, level of trust/intimacy, the situation, the connotation, the culture (group and individual), and respectfulness.

And all that cannot be answered in a blanket, generalised way. Irl, we have entire cultures that won't say anyone's given name, especially without honourifics, even within tight-knit family homes or being friends for decades. You have entire cultures where you name someone and just never call them by that name ever, outside of official/legal documentation. We have cultures with concepts such as deadnames, cultures where shortening names is infantilising, cultures where saying full names denotes a loss of intimacy, cultures where you choose your own name- either legally or a secondary name-, and cultures where you're born with, and/or given, multiple names. Cultures where you're named for positive abstract values and features, and cultures where you're named from physical properties of nature, and cultures where you just keep the same 4-ish names in cycle for generations with, maybe, slight variations in spelling here and there.

And all of those are just the tip of the iceberg for where you might stand on an individual level with someone.

Sorry this isn't a nice, succint answer, but I don't think this is a question I can answer definitively nor would I have the authority to.

My opinion: Don't call people names that aren't theirs. It's Tang Xuan, Mona, Lauren, etc not Sun Wukong, Artemis, and Seket.

Also, there's a reason the game lists family and given name for all the Chinese espers, in that order. I choose to only refer to them with both names and kind of flinch when I see otherwise, but that's my individual culture. I also find it easier to just call them something else entirely, but it would be nicknames like monkey boy and demon child or pet names, like my love (Lewis ❤)

With all that being said, these aren't real characters, so do what makes you feel comfortable and, also take a page out of lillithgames, and look at the cultures the game is based on to make inferences on who would be fine being called whatever :D

Bro whoever keeps fueling your JTTW 2 au, I'm living for all this drama. Hope Mac and Wukong can finally figure shit out and get their shit together. And here's a thought for that Spicynoodles - MK wants to go after Macaque but SWK insists it's too dangerous. So who does MK enlist to help him find his dad? His best friend of course. And if the fire demon he has a crush on decides to come along because he still wishes to avenge his father's honor and flirt with MK, well who does that harm?

I love this idea!! And yes, ya'll Anons are extremely good with all these story prompts and such, it's really helping me deal with waiting for the actual JTTW 2 that's coming in season 3 🙌

Having MK wanting to go after Macaque is definitely true; he's not gonna sit around while his second monkey dad puts himself in danger all by himself. What if he gets possessed again? Or Lady Bone Demon puts him in the ghost soup or something terrible? D: He insists the group go after Macaque, but Sun Wukong says they have to focus on finding the last weapon components first. They can't go after LBD without the weapon or she'll just end up draining their power again and they'll be right back at square one. At least now they have the advantage of Sun Wukong being at full strength again, even if they don't have the staff back yet.

MK kind of takes that last bit personally because the staff is kind of what MADE him the Monkie Kid, y'know? Without it, he doesn't feel like he's good enough, and honestly he's been struggling with these feelings for the whole journey, but he really feels like he's not valued as part of the team without the staff! Obviously this is ridiculous, everyone loves and needs MK but anxiety and abandonment issues will do that to a person.. And Macaque has abandoned him too now. He can't just let that go! He's gotta go after him and bring him back so they can all be a family again work together to save the world!

In his room that evening, MK packs up a few things and intends to sneak off the ship and go after Macaque by himself. He leaves a note letting everyone know that they should go find the rest of the weapon without him they don't really need him on this journey anyway they'll be fine. And when he steps out into the hallway and is tip toeing along to make his escape, he hears a familiar voice, Going somewhere, Noodle Boy? He almost jumps out of his skin, but when he whirls around he sees not just Red Son, but Mei standing next to him too. And... they've both got packs slung over their shoulders too? Oh. MK can't help but burst into joyous tears and he gets a big hug from his best friend to help stem the flow. Red Son even offers him an awkward side-hug (blushing the whole time about it) and the Traffic Light Trio sets off to hunt down Macaque in the dead of night.

The dads left on the ship wake up the next morning in a panic over the missing kids.. Not only have they run off and put themselves in danger, but Red Son's fire is one of the weapon components. They really did not think this whole side quest thing through haha

I was having a convo with my sis bc I guess op fans on tiktok were saying Ace is overrated 🤢

All I gots to say is, I don't trust anyone who thinks Portgas D. Ace is overrated, and I definitely don't value your opinion on anything else. You can have your *wrong* opinions, just not here in my space 😂

Ace is literally the catalyst to Luffy's growth and one of the biggest inspirations in his life. Even if he didn't have a lot of screentime, you can tell how much he meant to Luffy just by the way he openly adored him, and by how literally everyone around Luffy knew (and stated) how much Ace meant to him. Similarly to Luffy, Ace openly loved and adored him to the point that everyone would know about Luffy before even meeting Luffy.

In one night, Ace went from trying to kill Luffy, to dedicating his whole existence to him because he finally found someone who needed him to be alive and someone that gave him a reason to keep on living. I will never get over Ace, and I will never stop thinking that he is one of the greatest characters/factors of One Piece.

The two things they treasured most was their brotherhood and their freedom. Sabo "died" protecting his freedom (which in turn inspired his brothers to continue to fight and search for that freedom) and Ace died protecting the brotherhood. Luffy lives on for both. ASL is one of Luffy's core pillars. This brotherhood is central to his entire being and you can't have ASL without the A, the S, or the L. So for anyone to say that Ace or Sabo aren't worth the hype, yall must have missed out on the whole ASL arc.

This brotherhood ignited their dreams and gave them the safe space to believe that they could turn their dreams into a reality. It's often stated how Luffy has a way of drawing people towards him and making people want to join him, and I think Ace and Sabo are no exception to this. More than their dreams for themselves, they want to see Luffy accomplish everything he said he would, and for a while they were able to do so. Ace and Sabo knew Luffy was special. This kid had a dream but if he was going to be the crybaby they knew him to be, he would never make it a reality. Being the great big brothers they are, they trained to become stronger and they made sure he wouldn't always be their crybaby brother.

Honestly, I just dont see how people can hate on Ace or think he's overrated. Luffy wouldn't have made it this far without his brothers. There is no one piece without Ace.

Also, how can you hate him 🥺 he has a heart of gold and is probably one of the kindest pirates in the OP world. Literally no one had a problem with his existence until Sengoku's bitch ass spilled all his family tea in the live broadcast. Mans was unproblematic, just eating food and living life, falling asleep whenever/wherever bc you know narcolepsy. But frfr what did Ace do that was so bad besides being the son of the pirate king 😭💔

His death will always hurt bc it was only in that moment he realized how great his life was and how much he wanted to continue living it. He saw that he himself was loved, despite being the son of the pirate king, everyone who showed up, showed up for PORTGAS D. ACE, brother of Monkey D. Luffy, and son of Whitebeard.

TLDR: I am madly in love with Portgas D. Ace and I am 100% biased in saying that he is in fact not overhyped. His hype is 2000% worthy of his character and his place in the bigger picture of OP and I will die on this hill.
