Roger, istediği her şeye sahiptir .

Misunderstood genius is a pretty well-worn trope you may say, but Alan Turing really was exceptional. Benedict Cumberbatch plays him with that precise arrogance of knowing that he is superior to the others, but also with that terrible loneliness that comes from being right all the time, and from a sexual orientation that is so illegal that the government nearly drove him to suicide with the unfair punishment. I should say spoiler alert perhaps, but more than suspense, this information serves to shock us that this pioneer who made modern computers possible was treated with such impunity during his own time. And also, don't stop yourself from feeling miserable about Christopher. So, do go and give it a watch!

Silo    [trailer]
Men and women live in a giant silo underground with several regulations which they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface.
The first three episodes do a good job of introducing the main characters, and presenting the interesting dystopian world in which this series takes place.
But then it mainly turns into a relatively pedestrian crime-solving story, and intrigues about the power stucture inside the silo. While not uninteresting, it's not what the introduction of the series has promised.
You can probably argue that the indoctrination and the obedience is no doubt strong. But you still wonder why, in a population of 10,000 people, there isn't more upheaval sooner when, in a very short period of time, the sheriff and his wife "turn mad", there are suicides, and the long-serving and beloved mayor gets killed.
The people living in the silo also are skilled and knowledgeable. So it's not easy to accept why they accept the cult-like organisational structure, the knowledge suppression, weird rules (no magnifying glasses, no lifts), etc. Though that there's a surveillance apparatus involved doesn't come as a surprise.
I enjoy watching something that gives Rebecca Ferguson so much screen time. That David Oyelowo disappears early, and the focus is more on Common is unfortunate, since acting-wise he's a bit of a weak point.
A "relics bag" for a Pez dispenser is an amusing thought.
Season two will hopefully reveal more substantial facts about the past and the future of the silo.
