Cadillac Park Avenue Concept, 1954. Presented at GM's Motorama, a 4-door saloon design study with fibreglass bodywork built on the 133" wheelbase chassis of a 60 Special. The Park Avenue didn't make it into Cadillac's showrooms but some of the design themes it explored appeared on 1957 Cadillacs. Meanwhile, in the UK, it also influenced the styling of the PA series Vauxhall Velox of 1957 (Vauxhall was part of General Motors at the time)

Cadillac La Espada

One of the legendary and lost Motorama concepts was the beautiful Cadillac La Espada. Cadillac designed it as an elegant two-seater roadster. The La Espada featured several interesting, innovative features like a power top that created a curved surface when drivers closed it. It also had four headlights.

The car was a perfectly functional prototype with a Cadillac V8 engine delivering 230 HP. As with all other outdated concepts, it was destined for the crusher. However, it looks like it never got there. The story is they sold the car was sold to a private party who stored it in their garage, rarely driving it. After that, they sent it to the scrapyard and it disappeared afterward.

With front wheel drive, forward control and the engine place behind the front wheels, L'Universelle was designed to maximise load space. The side doors opened in "folding gullwing" style to make them usable in tight spaces. Presented the GM's Motorama it was powered by a Pontiac V8
