Most of the mountains in Europe are accessible with modern technical equipment for everyone and that is the problem, different views of equipment for climbing mountains even with the cable car.
The truth is that when it gets stormy the operation of most cable cars is stopped. This means that you have to climb down from the mountain without a cable car by foot. Every intelligent person can think that the right footwear is important, so no high heels.
I only mention this because of a story that I have experienced. We were in the mountains on a summit and the weather became worse and worse, the cable car company informed us that the cable car would be closed down and all visitors should please climb down to the valley on foot as soon as possible! A tourist with high heels asks when the rescue team with helicopters will come and take us all down to the valley. The employee of the cable car could not believe what he heard and had to explain to her that there is no emergency. Well, we are in the mountains and that is just the way it is!
I find high heels really super on the right terrain. Of course I really respect people who are totally ignorant the situation and die for their style.
