Been thinking about gay media just now, and another thing I just love about The Kiss is how it's exactly what I always imagined practically any of my ship kisses to go.

Seen a lot of gay relationships in the media where it's one of them says something smooth, it goes quiet, and they both slowly lean in. It's satisfying, sure, but there's something about Ed whispering hesitantly how Stede makes him happy, Stede giving a little happy smile and just about to reply back with some wit before Ed just goes for it that itches the little part in my brain just right.

And they do this other times - this is the third time they do a similar move!

I think it's cause of how natural and unique this experience is. With the previous example i mentioned above, it's a similar formula that's repeated again and again, even in straight media.

As someone who isn't socially aware of body language, who wouldn't pick up on mutual attraction but always wanted someone to take the dive cause they see me as worth it, it's really what I always wanted to see in queer media
