Louis Tomlinson Gives Rockstar Performance At Forest Hills Stadium
August 03, 2023 | BY KYLE STEVENS

Fans at Forest Hills Stadium couldn’t help themselves when they got the opportunity to get up close and personal with singer and heartthrob Louis Tomlinson on Saturday, July 29. Andrew Cushin and Giant Rooks opened for Tomlinson with dynamic performances that set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The former One Direction star created quite the stir when he took the stage in Queens for the last stop on the current leg of his ‘Faith In The Future World Tour.’ Tomlinson made a grand entrance rocking a black tank top and stunner shades after the rain came drizzling down right before he was about to go on. Luckily, the weather cleared up just in time and the English songwriter proceeded to sing hits from his latest solo album that dropped back on November 11 last year.
Performing “High in California,” “She is a Beauty We Are World Class,” and “Out of My System,” Tomlinson had his passionate fan base holler and shriek throughout his entire set. Tomlinson’s magnetic energy made the atmosphere so sweltering that he had to pause in the middle of “All This Time” to help a fan who needed assistance in the crowd.
Staying true to his roots by not forgetting where he came from, Tomlinson also performed 1D megahits “Night Changes” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go.” He also paid homage to English rock band Arctic Monkeys by singing the moody “505.” (The Arctic Monkeys will also roll through the area on September 8 and 9 for a highly anticipated tour of their own.)
Stacked Sandwich Shop (68-60 Austin St, Queens, NY 11375) made sure to keep the hungry stadium crowd properly nourished throughout the evening with delicious, jumbo-size Philly Cheesesteaks that had to be seen to be believed. Owner Danny Azzo was on hand with new menu items to feed into the excitement that Louis created.
“We recently introduced Mozzarella Sticks and Fries. It’s a hit,” Azzo said in an interview with the Queens Gazette. “We don’t do that in the shop because we traditionally make sandwiches, but that’s been really good for us, as is the cheesesteak. Our usual popular items include the Turkey Sandwiches.”
Before the night wrapped up, fans who were lucky enough to be near the barricade got the rare opportunity to touch their charismatic idol during the song “Silver Tongues.” Always a gentleman, Tomlinson happily greeted his supporters with a wide smile. Attendees in the front row lost control and proceeded to tear away at Tomlinson’s tank top in a frenzied scene that was reminiscent of the peak of Beatlemania during the 1960s.
Tomlinson proudly soaked up the moment like only a true rockstar could, and performed the rest of his concert shirtless. Unsurprisingly, fans in Queens were quite content with that particular parting visual. The “Bigger Than Me” singer will pick up his tour again on August 29 when he goes overseas to play at Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Tickets are on sale now for those who want to take an adventurous, fly away holiday.

Hello friend. I'm sending you hugs on this drab evening. I hope you're feeling better.
Anyways here's a question to distract you from the sad times: what's your favorite food?
Hopefully when I meet you in person one day, I'll get to cook it for you. I adore cooking for those who are close to me. ☺️💖🧑‍🍳🍽️
Aw. You are such a lovely bean. I am going to hug the life out of you someday.🥰💜
I love carne asada street tacos, chile rellenos, hawaiian pizza, boneless buffalo wings, chocolate chip cookies, mozzarella sticks made with crushed chicharrones breading, kielbasa, coney island chilidog, chicago style hotdog, philly cheesesteak, Vietnamese pho, red curry, naan bread, bratwurst, nachos with extra jalapenos, and probably a million more.
I love food. I love when someone cooks for me. I love trying new things outs. And if you cook for me I will adore you forever.

National Greasy Foods Day
Deliciously satisfying bites with a hint of indulgence, these comfort eats are a guilty pleasure that never fails to hit the spot.
”Greasy food might not be good for your body, but it does wonders for the soul. A healthy diet may prolong your life, but what would you have to live for? What is the point of living to a hundred if you have to subsist on bland food? One may as well die of boredom.” ~ Jessica Zafra
The world is full of a veritable cavalcade of delicious foods, and the vast majority of them are filled to the brim with fats and grease! While those who are on a crusade for better health often find themselves avoiding these amazing foods in favor of a thinner waistline, Greasy Food Day encourages us to take a day off from that diet and remember the good things in life.
Otherwise, as Ms. Zafra says, what else are we living for?
On this day, it’s time to celebrate living for Greasy Food!
History of Greasy Food Day
These types of food certainly get a lot of hate from health fanatics, those delicious meals that make everyone’s mouths and souls sing out loud with joy. Granted, this day definitely wasn’t started by a doctor or nutritionist who was on a health food kick.
Whether talking about the rich stretchy cheese that graces the tops of people’s favorite pizza dishes, or the flavorful and delicious sub sandwiches that are shiny with grease as they are unwrapped, greasy foods can truly be said to be one of the greatest things in life. (That is, at least, while they are being eaten. For some people, that doesn’t necessarily hold true afterward when their stomachs are all tied up in knots.)
Now it is true that greasy food should be consumed in moderation, but sometimes moderation is a thing for the other 364 days out of a full year.
Greasy Food Day encourages everyone on earth to indulge in their favorite things and remember what it was like to truly be able to enjoy anything without consequence.
What’s your favorite greasy food? Juicy hamburgers? Hot dogs bursting with flavor? Sausage Rolls? Maybe some Canadian will enjoy the overwhelmingly flavorful and greasy dish that is poutine?
Whatever the chosen poison, Greasy Food Day is the perfect excuse to dive in and enjoy it like there’s no tomorrow. Get ready to celebrate with Greasy Food!
How to Celebrate Greasy Food Day
Enjoy a Greasy Food Meal
Go out to that special dive restaurant and order your favorite greasy dishes, and don’t forget to bring some napkins! Sometimes nicknamed a “Greasy Spoon” these restaurants are all about cooking with the tastiest of fats. Almost everything is deep-fried in oil until deliciously crisp, and often dripping with grease.
Whether french fries, onion rings or a greasy slice of pizza, this day is all about enjoying the drip. So pop into that restaurant and order up all the things that would normally be on the list of “no-nos”.
Enjoy the Greasiest American Foods
This day is all about paying heed to greasy foods. But even among them, some are greasier than others. Try out these ideas for how to bag the absolutely greasiest foods that American Culture has to offer:
Philly Cheesesteak. Cooked properly, this sandwich will require not only a pile of napkins but also perhaps a bib in order to eat it without getting extremely messy. Beef steak, chopped and cooked over a grill is made even greasier with the addition of cheese and onions.
Buffalo Wings. Named after the city in New York in which they began, these chicken wings are dipped in batter and deep fried before being coated in a buttery hot sauce. Finish it off with a dip in some blue cheese or ranch dressing.
Cheese Curds. How to take cheese and make it fattier? Deep fry it! A Wisconsin favorite (perhaps due to its dairy production) these little balls of cheese are dipped in batter and then, of course, deep fried to perfection. For an Italian twist on this northern favorite, try fried Mozzarella sticks.
Watch One (or Both) of the Grease Films
In keeping with the theme of the day, while downing those greasy foods, why not take in the guilty pleasure of watching one of these Grease themed films?
Grease (1978). This American musical romantic comedy film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John is what drove the careers of these two to the top. Based on the 1971 stage musical of the same name, this story of two young high schoolers who fell in love has been a hit for generations.
Grease 2 (1982). Quite a bit less popular than the first (possibly due to the absence of Newton-John and Travolta), this followup film didn’t score well at the box office. It was okay for Michelle Pfeiffer, however, and her career moved forward because of this.
Make Some Greasy Food at Home
Is your favorite greasy food a family recipe? Alright then! It’s time to get the family together and celebrate Greasy Food Day with a rich dish that is steeped in tradition. And be sure to pass that on to the kids so they can continue the celebration once you’re gone. Rich greasy food is often a comfort food for many people, so don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t deserve a bit of comfort. In fact, get as comfortable as you like on Greasy Food Day!

Winter asks ❄️ shiver - what’s your typical go-to fast food restaurant? 🙂
We have so many on the way home from work that it’s tempting just to pull over and get food from there all the time 😅 My favorites are Checkers because of their fries and mozzarella sticks, and Jersey Mike’s has this bacon ranch chicken cheesesteak sandwich that’s fucking addicting 🤤 And does Chinese food count as fast food? My favorite local place is perfect.
Okay, editing to add this, but Cookout has the best food for when you’re drunk or high, thank you and goodnight 🤣💀💜

Ok so I’ve lived in south Florida most of my life, recently relocated to Arizona. I need to know, what does an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich contain? Everywhere I go in Florida it’s basically a submarine sandwich: lettuce, tomato’s, pickles, Mayo It feels wrong. Also, Is provolone cheese acceptable?
Oh God okay. Finally a question I'm at least partially qualified to answer (I'm a transplant but I've always lived within 30 miles or so).
Listen, here's the deal. You can ask 150 people from Philly where the best cheesesteak is from and you'll get 150 different answers (and none of them will be Pat's or Geno's). I've heard Philly natives get into screaming matches at 2am that are technically friendly but passersby consider calling for police intervention.
So a) I can tell you this, the thing you're describing is a cheesesteak *hoagie*. Personally, I fucking hate those. Absolute mess. And mayo??! I don't think we even put mayo on our cheesesteak hoagies. Blech
b) My understanding is that an allegedly correct cheesesteak is chopped/shredded beef, cheeze wiz and fried onions, though onions are optional. Minimum requirements is beef, cheese, long roll.
c) but! Thank God there's variations. Personally, I prefer a "wiz wittout" which translates to "a beef cheesesteak with cheese wiz, without onions." Of course there's a wiz wit, i.e. cheeze wiz with onions, but you can also get it with provolone (good job!) My understanding is that provalone is the only other acceptable variety of cheese. You can also get a chicken cheesesteak or a buffalo chicken cheesesteak! I love those. And plenty of toppings! Roasted red peppers, long hots (which look the same but taste very different), broccoli rabe, other cheeses... Omg this one place used to make a "scooby snacks" which was a cheesesteak where you'd then select three different appetizers to go on it! I loved perogies, mozzarella sticks, and pizza rolls. ...I plan on dying young, apparently.
d) At Pat's and Gino's the urban legend is that if you don't order it in their terminology or with any hesitancy, you'll be immediately refused and told to go to the back of the line. This is true at one of them, and while I can't remember which one, it's probably at the racist one. I can't remember which one because the two places are identical establishments on essentially opposite corners of the same intersection. And they're both shit. But the other places don't give a shit so long you aren't holding up the line, since it's 1am and the drunks need NOURISHMENT
I live in South Philly. In half a square mile radius from me are like six different cheese steak places. Oregon steaks, steak me up, stadium pizza grill... And if I feel like walking fifteen minutes north (I don't) I've got Pat's and Gino's, and ten minutes north of them we've got Jim's. They're all edible. If you want a truly mouth-in-heaven-bowels-in-hell experience, go to Oregon Steaks on I think 10th and Oregon and get a buffalo chicken cheesesteak with extra wiz. You will shit yourself nonstop for like three days but your mouth will be in heaven. And you'll probably get covid cuz the staff don't wear masks. But God do I miss drunkenly waiting in the cold for my $25 worth of cheesesteaks and appetizers to cook so I can go home, eat em, and shit for three days.
I wish we were known for more than our garbage food and our sports monsters but like... If that's all we get, I'll take it. I pray you get a good cheesesteak soon - with as much provalone as you want (even the stanky kind)

National Greasy Foods Day
The world is full of a veritable cavalcade of delicious foods, and the vast majority of them are filled to the brim with fats and grease! While those who are on a crusade for better health often find themselves avoiding these amazing foods in favor of a thinner waistline, Greasy Food Day encourages us to take a day off from that diet and remember the good things in life.
Otherwise, as Ms. Jafra says, what else are we living for?
Finish it off with a dip in some bleu cheese or ranch dressing.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹 | This may be a fairly unorthodox way of holding it, but this is the Philly Cheesesteak from @reddogsaloon and it is really good! Firstly, it must be a foot long, I wasn’t expecting that. It’s BIG. There’s a choice of 3 and I went for The Italian. 8oz rib eye round, marinara sauce, hickory smoked southern sausage, Visalia onions, mozzarella. Second fact, on a Sunday you can get this plus a schooner of beer for £10! Given the size of it, that’s great value. This is really good, it’s definitely something I’d consider first when I’m next at Red Dog Saloon. I love the sausage, the steak was great, the cheese was perfect. The problem id had with Red Dog in the past was inconsistency, and I think that still exists when you visit their multiple locations. But in the last few months I’ve been to the Hoxton restaurant a handful of times and it’s definitely put them back on the map for me. When I first came here YEARS ago it was amazing, then I couple of years later it had crashed, but it’s definitely back up their now. My advice is stick to Hoxton. . . . . . . #EEEEEATS #eater #eaterlondon #food #foodporn #yum #instafood #yummy #eating #foodpic #foodpics #foodgasm #foodstagram #london #foodie #lovefood #buzzfeast #foooodieee #eatfamous #eatingfamous #devourpower #certifiedgrilllover #bbq #phillycheesesteak #cheesesteak (at The Red Dog Saloon) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvoWNPHAmTQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=22176f978d9k
