Regulus: You ever think that if you were never born, your partner would be in a lot of trouble?
Mary: On the daily.
Lily: She'd be hopeless without me.
Dorcas: She'd go to jail a lot more without me.
Remus: Sirius still goes to jail with me here.
Regulus: James goes to jail with Sirius and Marlene.
Alice: Cissa would be like Bels.
Ted: Andy would be like Bels.
Rita: Well, Bels would be like her parents if it wasn't for me.
Sybil: Peter still does stupid shit. I can't stop him.
Amelia: Emma would be dead somewhere.
Frank: Hestia' too dumb to do anything other than go along with everyone else.
Aurora: Lia isn't one to get into trouble unless she's looking for it.
Evan: Barty just likes going to jail. He says it's comfy.
Regulus, Dorcas, Mary, Lily, Remus, Alice, Ted, Rita, Amelia, Frank, Sybil, and Aurora: *Turns to look at Evan*
Dorcas: You're the one who helps him get in trouble.
Barty: Um, rude. I do that by myself.

I think my true love for a sapphic narcissa ship is still Dorcas, they're just perfect. But Narcissa/any damn girl is just so good.
Narcissa and Dorcas? Powerful Slytherin it girls with the world at their feet, popular, beautiful, they've got it all. Dorcas' morals not being stronger than Cissa's fear and need to please until everything falls apart and she only hears of Dorcas' death in the papers.
Narcissa and Pandora? Complicated magical experiments, questionable morals, and stolen moments, no real friendship to cover up the love but such devotion. Seeing each other long after they get married.
Narcissa and Alice? Slytherdor perfection, Alice calls Cissa out on her shit and Cissa LIKES it. The tragedy, the young love turned to bitter regret and the worst heartbreak imaginable. Losing the love of your life to your own sister.
Narcissa and mrs Zabini (Ariadne)? Rich, beautiful, careless pureblood Ladies. Flirting over glasses of champagne and sneaking away from mrs Greengrass' gala. Reminding each other what freedom and pleasure taste like in a world where they’re supposed to be just pretty. No tragedy, just love and fun.
Narcissa and Lily? That young love that's hesitant and dangerous and shakes every foundation of your precious beliefs. Being terrified of your own feelings but so in love, so devoted, until the war gets too close and safety feels better than the thrill of romance. The relief when the war ends followed by the agony when she learns how it did.
Just. I want to give Narcissa more girlfriends, is what I'm saying. Literally all of these are good (and there's MORE OPTIONS even). She deserves the love and I like the tragedy.
There is so much potential and she deserves it all.
(I will say, for dorcissa, pandora/cissa, zabini/narcissa and narlily have some fics on my AO3. Just saying.)

Remus: right hello and welcome back ladies and gentlemen.
Severus: welcome to the final match of this season. Slytherin vs gryffindor.
Remus: *under his breathe* and the last match we commentate at.
Severus: right, so in the slytherin team we have; Lucius Malfoy, amazing captain and a keeper.

Severus: Slytherin in possession, black, to Zabini, back to black and ouch-
Remus: hit by a bludger by Shacklebolt.
Severus: way to go "gentleman" Shacklebolt.
Remus: right, now gryffindor in possession, McKinnon, she dives---
Severus: avoided the bludger by inches--
Remus: ---its perfect--and she is---
Severus: Blocked by Lucius!
Remus: ah well dont get too excited snape.
Severus: told you to not call me by that surname but anyways, slytherin in possession. No, gryffindor in possession again---

Remus: MOVE THAT ASS AND CONTINUE SHITTERS.
Severus: right good and gryffindor in possession. Not good.
Remus: Chased by continuous bludgers from Rosier and Crouch. But she avoids. Way to go Fortescue.
Severus: Yes and she's dropped the quaffle. Slytherin in possession again, and Meadowes...scor----
Severus: *jerks from his chair and slams his hands on the desk*
Severus: HEY. THATS CHEATING. THATS NOT VALID.
Remus: and the quaffle is hit by the bludger by Black? Clever move.
Remus: good now gryffindor in possession.
Severus: NO THATS INVALID. PROFESSOR IS THAT ALLOWED?
Minerva: no rules have been broken Mr. Prince. So its Absolutely valid.
Remus: *snickering* well smart move sirius. You've used your brain for once.
Severus: oh come on.
Remus: right we forgot about the seekers. They've returned and...no snitch.
Severus: Great. *slumps back on his seat*
Remus: and so the match continues.
Severus: *sighs* ah well, gryffindor in possession and...
Remus: And they score! 0-10.
Severus: This is not what I was excited to witness and commentate on.
Remus: But the show must go on lads.
Severus: and slytherin in possession again.
A few moments later:
Severus" right, now we have it 60-90. Slytherin in lead.
Remus: COME ON YOU GRYFFINDORKS!! MOVE IT. YOU WANNA LOSE???!!!
Severus: Ah!!! Remus we forgot.
Remus: what?
Severus: our daily match gossip.
Remus: Riiiight. So today's gossip.
Severus: james and lily an official couple.
Remus: along with shaklebolt and McDonald.
Remus: my own roommate didnt tell me he had a girlfriend for A WEEK.
Meanwhile, a while back in the clouds:
Severus *from afar*: WELL THE MATCH MUST GO ON. WHO ASKED YOU TO STAY STILL LIKE STATUES?
Remus *also from afar*: MOVE THAT ASS AND CONTINUE SHITTERS.
*Regulus and James both an inch away from the snitch*
Regulus: Should we end it now or let it go for a little longer? Yk since it's your last match.
James: sounds good.

Sirius Anything-But-Black.
~~~♤~~~
Sirius hates his last name. He always joked around by going by his friend's names instead.
Sirius Potter was the most common, of course. He was practically raised by the Potter's, he and James had been brothers for years of course he was a Potter.
Second was Pettigrew, mostly when joking around with Peter.
He'd make comments like "This is why it's so great to be a part of the Pettigrew family!" and "Don't you dare disrespect the Pettigrew Brothers!"
A handful of times he even used Lily's last name, referring to himself as Sirius Evans.
She finds it hilarious, as soon as she catches on that he hates his last name she starts calling him Evans too.
Whenever she'd pass by the group and greet James as Potter, she'd always make sure to reply to Sirius' "Hey, Evans!" With a "Hello, Evans." In return.
Every once in a while he used their other friend's names too; Meadowes, Longbottom, McKinnon, he went as far as to use McGonagall once and nearly got detention for a week.
But he never used Lupin.
Remus asks him one lazy Saturday morning as the group was sprawled across the furniture in the common room.
He'd wondered for years, they all secretly had, but it never meant enough to any of them to really ask.
"Why do you never go by Sirius Lupin?" Remus asked, filling the lull in conversation.
It was supposed to be a casual question, but there was nothing casual about the look Sirius gave him when he replied,
"Because you haven't asked me to marry you yet, Moons."
The room was silent. Remus and Sirius were staring at each other for a long time. Remus slowly stood up and walked over to him, kneeling down in front of his chair,
"Sirius, will you marry me?" He whispered.
"Of course, Remus." Sirius breathed.
Nobody else could tell if they were joking or not. They'd never once shown feelings towards each other, nothing more than what they normally did.
Remus wasn't even gay.
But then, all of the sudden, Remus and Sirius were found walking the halls hand in hand, placing gentle kisses on each other's cheeks.
They started sleeping in the same bed at night, Remus curled on his side with his nose nuzzled against Sirius' neck.
Sirius exclusively went by Sirius Lupin now, refusing to go by anything else. He also made it very clear to all of his suitors that he was engaged and off the market.
The others still couldn't quite tell how much further they would go for the bit, but they seemed happy?? So they were all happy too.
Immediately after graduation they got married and made it official. Everyone was kinda blown away, but then again, it was Remus and Sirius, they've kind of always been dating, even when they weren't.
The others finally asked years later if they'd been secretly dating prior to that, since it was the only thing that made sense.
Sirius shook his head, "No, I had no idea Rem liked me back. I was just really in love with him."
Remus nodded, explaining he wasn't actually sure if Sirius was joking or not either at first, but he was too in love to question it, and took the chance he got.
It ended up working out, Sirius was now- in all ways including legally- Mr. Sirius Lupin.
And he'd never been happier.
MR. FUCKING BRIGHTSIDE
pairing. slytherin!jake x hufflepuff!fem!reader
summary. although sim jaeyun constantly surrounds himself with douchebags and looks like he could stomp all over a girl’s heart; you knew the real him that was deep inside. but did you really?
genre. hogwarts!au, ANGST, bits of fluff, right person wrong circumstances, forbidden/secret love
warnings. jake can be a bit of an asshole, the insult “mudblood” is used, slytherin gets shitted on as a house (dw, i’m a slytherin 😭)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sim Jaeyun, or everybody knew him as Jake, the sixth year Slytherin, seeker of his house’s Quidditch team, and nevertheless, charming to every girl that has stepped foot in his proximity.
Half of your friends would disagree—that he was not charming but rather just another slithering snake in the worst possible house at Hogwarts.
Jake’s friend group consisted of three people: Draco Malfoy, Blaise, and Pansy Parkinson. They just so happen to be an insufferable lot, maybe except Blaise who minded his own business half of the time.
“Today you will be working in pairs.” Professor McGonagall states, fixing her glasses as she holds a stroll of paper. “I’ve already decided them, absolutely no changes.”
There’s groans that fill the room, one of whom you recognize as no other than Jake.
“Seriously? I wanted to pair up with Blaise!” He whines, earning a glare from Draco. “What? C’mon Dray, we both know you and I don’t get anything done.”
“Alright,” Professor McGonagall clears her throat. “Blaise Zabini with Nancy Drumswell, Aidan Callaghan with Hermione Granger, Harry Potter with Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy with Pansy Parkinson, and finally, Jaeyun Sim with Y/N L/N.”
You don’t blink when you realize who your partner is. Rather, you just sigh a bit in defeat, coming to the conclusion that you cannot do anything to convince McGonagall to change partners.
“Hey.” Jake plops himself down on the seat next to you, laughing as Draco gives him a shove on the way to his own table.
“Hi.” You murmur, suddenly finding your yellow robe more interesting than him.
“I’ve never been paired with a Hufflepuff before.” He grins, the shit eating grin that weirdly captives your senses. “Are you guys as nice as you claim to be?”
“I don’t know Jaeyun, you tell me.”
Jake’s eyes widen before he lets out a giggle. “Jaeyun? No one ever calls me that anymore.”
You shrug, sliding him the piece of paper with the instructions to your project. “You can stop by the Hufflepuff dormitories at 8, I’ll be done with dinner by then and I’ll open it for you.”
“Sounds like a plan sweetheart.”
You cringe at his words, the obvious disdain on your face makes him laugh even harder.
“I’ll see you then.” He whispers, and just like a movie, stands up as soon as McGonagall dismisses the class, merging into one with his friends.
♡;
Just as the clock struck eight, you heard a knock. Your books, pens, and parchment were spread out in front of you, eagerly waiting to be used.
As you slowly get up to open the door, you’re met face to face with Jake, who entered the room with a confident stride
"Hey there, Y/N," Jake greeted, flashing you a charming smile as he took a seat across from your side of the table.
"Hey," you politely turn his smile. "Ready to tackle this project?"
"Absolutely," he affirmed, pulling out his own notes and spreading them out on the table. "I've got some ideas already. How about you?"
You nodded, slightly impressed by Jake's readiness to dive into the work. "I've been brainstorming as well. Maybe we can combine our ideas and come up with something great."
As the two of you began discussing your approaches to the project, youcouldn't help but notice how articulate and intelligent Jake was when he wasn't surrounded by his usual group of friends. His confidence shone through, but it was paired with a genuine interest in the subject matter that caught you off guard.
"You sure sound different when you’re not around Draco," You remarked.
Jake only chuckled, a hint of self-deprecation in his voice. "Yeah, well, I guess I don't always show this side of me around my friends. They have a different idea of what's cool."
You can only nod in understanding, realizing that Jake was more complex than you had initially assumed.
As you continued working, you couldn’t help but find yourself paying closer attention to the small details about him—the way his brow furrowed in concentration, the soft lilt in his voice when he explained a concept, the way his eyes sparkled with passion for the project.
"Thanks for coming, Jake," you say, offering him a genuine smile. "I really enjoyed working with you."
Jake returned your smile, his eyes meeting yours with a warmth that sent a sudden flutter through your heart. "Anytime, Y/N. I had a great time too."
As you bid each other goodnight, you couldn’t help but suddenly miss his presence, something you didn’t expect to happen with just one session with him.
♡;
In your second studying session, you and Jake found yourselves engrossed in their project once again. This time, you two decided to move to a quiet corner of the library, away from prying eyes and distractions. The Hufflepuff dorms were too crowded, and you knew you’d rather die than step into the Slytherin dormitory as a Hufflepuff.
As you discussed your research findings, you couldn't help but notice how Jake's demeanor had softened since your last meeting. He seemed more relaxed, more open, as if he felt comfortable letting his guard down around you.
Jake suddenly reached across the table to grab a book, his hand brushing against yours in the process. It was a simple gesture, but it sent a jolt of electricity coursing through your veins, leaving you quite literally breathless for a moment. “Here Y/N, I heard this book was good for this particular topic.”
Your eyes met briefly, and you felt your cheeks flush with warmth.
“Thanks,” you murmur, looking down slightly.
Jake smiled back at you, seemingly oblivious to the effect his touch had on you. For a person who charms so much girls, you’d think he know how much his advances affected others.
“No problem, seems like we got a lot done within these 2 days huh?”
"Yeah, it seems so," you reply softly.
Even though it had only been 2 nights, in those quiet moments, away from the prying eyes of their classmates, you had realized just how much you actually enjoyed Jake's company. He wasn't just the annoying Slytherin she had initially pegged him to be—he was kind, intelligent, and surprisingly easy to talk to.
"I guess that's it for tonight," Jake said, a hint of disappointment in his voice. “Can’t believe they only allow Prefects in the library past ten.”
"Yeah," you groan, feeling a pang of sadness at the thought of saying goodbye. "But we'll see each other again soon, right?"
Jake nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Definitely. Let’s just hope Malfoy doesn’t ruin it.”
♡;
As you made your way through the corridors of Hogwarts with Hermione, you spotted Jake surrounded by his Slytherin friends, including Draco and Pansy. Suddenly feeling the wave of confidence at the sight of him, you decided to muster up the courage to approach him.
But as you drew nearer, you noticed a subtle shift in Jake's demeanor. His usual friendly expression hardened, and a smirk spread across his lips as he turned to face you and Hermione.
"Look who it is, boys," Draco says, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Little Miss Hufflepuff herself."
Jake and Pansy chuckled, exchanging knowing glances with Draco as if they were in on some inside joke. Your smile faltered, confusion and hurt swirling in your chest as you struggled to make sense of Jake's sudden change in attitude.
"Um, hi, Jaeyun," you replied, voice barely above a whisper as you fought to keep her composure.
"Seriously? Jaeyun? That’s hysterical.” Pansy laughs, as if it was the funniest thing in the world.
“What's the matter, Y/N? Can't find anyone from your own house so you bother our Jake here?” Draco continues to taunt you, his words like daggers aimed straight at your heart. “Or should I say Jaeyun?”
You felt your cheeks burn with embarrassment as the laughter of Jake's friends echoed in your ears. You had never felt so small, so insignificant to the group in front of you.
“I was hoping to discuss our project.” You say quietly, looking at anyone but Jake.
Hermione could sense your hostility, pulling you close to her side as she gave Draco a snarl.
“Listen Y/N,” Jake says, “all that crap you Hufflepuffs preach about loving each other and expressing feelings is a lie. No one really cares about what you have to say.”
“Alright, that’s enough!” Hermione says, shielding you by putting herself in front of your frame. “What has gotten into you?”
But Jake just shrugged her off, his smirk widening into a sneer. "Mind your own business, mudblood. This doesn't concern you."
Feeling the sting of tears threatening to spill from your eyes, you quickly turn on your heel and fled down the corridor, desperate to escape the humiliation of Jake's cruel words.
Had you really been so stupid to place your trust in Sim Jaeyun knowing full well his reputation? By the looks of it, all answers pointed to yes.
♡;
By 7pm, the sun had dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the surface of the Black Lake just in front of the Slytherin Common Rooms.
“Y/N?” Almost as if he knew exactly where you were, Jake shows up in front of you, making you give him a glare.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N," he murmured, his voice tinged with remorse as he avoided your gaze. He takes a seat next to you on the grass, his fingers tracing patterns across them in nervousness. "I messed up back there. I let my pride get the best of me, and I hurt you in the process. I should have stood up for you."
You sighed, your heart heavy with disappointment but softened by Jake's sincerity.
“I don’t get it,” you say. “One moment you’re all kind and sincere around me, and the next, you say all these things like I’m worth nothing.”
The two of you sat in silence for a moment, the air filled with the gentle rustle of leaves and the distant calls of birds. Then, Jake spoke again, his voice hesitant but earnest. "I guess my friends just have an influence on me that I can’t control. I’m sorry for what I said earlier, you’re one of the kindest people I've ever met, Y/N. I admire that about you."
You slightly smiled, a warm flush spreading across your cheeks. "Thank you, Jake. That means a lot to me."
As the sky darkened and stars began to twinkle overhead, the two of you continued to talk, laughter mingling with the night air.
♡;
The next night was one of the more important nights at Hogwarts. Everybody had finished their exams—and the Ravenclaws decided to throw a party at their Commons.
The music throbbed as you entered with Ron Weasley, who, at the sight of his twin brothers, ran towards them. You roll your eyes at his behavior, and start pulsing through the crowded room, a plastic smile plastered on your face.
You notice Jake in the corner, sipping on what looked like a bottle of beer. He exchanged nods and greetings with those around him, his eyes scanning the room for something—someone.
But before you could gawk at him any longer, Draco cut in smoothly, his tone laced with mockery. "Oh, look who decided to show up. Did you bring your Hufflepuff friend to the party, Jake? How charming."
Pansy giggled, her eyes glittering with malice as she looked at you up and down. "I didn't know us Slytherins were into charity work."
“Guys, seriously? Cut it out,” Jake gulps, eyes directly meeting yours.
“He’s right,” Blaise says, and you swear it’s the most you’ve ever heard out of him. “Don’t ruin the party.”
“Whatever.” Pansy throws her hand in mock surrender. “Wouldn’t want to make the Hufflepuff cry.”
Hermione comes to your rescue right after Pansy throws you a glare.
“Piss off.” She says, interlocking her arms with yours.
“Thanks ‘Mione.” You thank her softly as you’re lead away from the lot. “For saving me back there.”
“Always,” she smiles. “Now cmon, I heard Ron’s already drunk!”
You two giggle at that, you letting Hermione lead the way into the crowd of people.
♡;
It’s about 2 hours later and the Ravenclaw party is still loud as ever, filled with with laughter and music.
Despite the Weasley twins making a full ruckus of themselves, your eyes were drawn to a figure slumped in a corner. It was Jake, only this time, he looked uncharacteristically vulnerable, his face pale and contorted with some type of emotion you hadn’t seen before.
Concern etched onto your features, and your body felt itself navigating through the crowd of people until you’re knelt beside him. "Jake? Are you alright? Where’s Draco?”
He lifted his head, and you swore you felt your heart clenched at the sight of his glassy eyes and trembling lips. "I'm fine," he mumbled, but his voice betrayed the lie.
"No, you're not," you reply softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?"
Jake swallowed hard, his gaze flickering with a mix of emotions. "It's... it's nothing," he slurred, but his words lacked conviction.
You stayed silent, sensing he needed to unburden himself. After a moment, he spoke again, his voice raw with emotion. "Do you think I’m good for nothing?”
"What?" You asked gently, your heart sinking as you watched him struggle to form his thoughts.
"I mean look at this, look at me," Jake gestured vaguely, gesturing to the party around the two of you. "This charade I constantly put on. Pretending to be someone I'm not."
Your brows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"I mean..." Jake trailed off, his breath hitching. "Was it all worth the six years of be pretending to be who I wasn’t? Pretending to be the egoistic charming Slytherin everyone claims to know so well?”
Jake pauses before looking up at you, his eyes swimming with unshed tears. "You know I care about you a lot, right? I like you, a lot.”
“You do?” You say quietly, brushing a few loose strands of hair out of his eyes.
“But we just can’t.”
“What?”
“Why not?”
"Because,” Jake's voice cracked, and he looked away. "Because I wish you were in Slytherin."
You felt your heart shatter into a million pieces at his words. You almost knew it then, with a painful realization that you could never compete with the loyalty he felt towards his house and the expectations placed upon him by his housemates.
Tears stung your eyes as you realized there was nothing she could do to change his mind. With a heavy heart, you rose to your feet.
“Well I’m sorry then, Jake.” You say, turning around so he wouldn’t see your tears.
And as you walked away, the echoes of his confession lingered in your mind, haunting your thoughts with the bitter realization that sometimes, love simply wasn't enough.
Could I request some Yan poly Theo and Mattheo x male reader please?
Where he is an animagus that can turn into a cat just like McGonagal.
Where he goes to them in his cat form for cuddles and scratches and stuff because he’s touch starved, but what the reader doesn’t know is that they know who he is and that he’s not a normal cat, and the reason everyone’s been avoiding him both in his cat form and human form is because they’ve made everyone besides him know that he’s theirs and threaten them. Just the usual possessive Yan behaviour from the duo. Maybe they buy him a collar or something in his cat form and he gets all embarrassed because he doesn’t know that they know he’s a human and just has to wear it when he’s a cat-??
I’m so sorry if it’s too detailed
um, obsessed???
also i tweaked the ending you asked for just a little bit cause i never know how to end fics 🫠
i genuinely despise this. fully anticipate me just deleting this and starting over.
also please never apologize for too much detail it literally makes writing these so much easier and faster
requests? 🥺🤲
“Ah, Mr. Black. Lovely for you to join us.”
You cringed, hastily smoothing down your hair in an attempt to look like you hadn’t just woken up.
Snape gave you a stern look. “Very well. Now that you’ve elected to make your presence, perhaps Mr. Black can tell us what asphodel is?”
You flushed at the way your professor put you on the spot; the way all of your classmate's eyes were on you.
“U-uh, it’s a flower. It’s supposed to grow in the Elysian fields in the Greek underworld…?” You trailed off uncertainly.
Snape’s lips thinned, a sign that you were correct. “We have a new seating chart—a fact you might’ve known if you’d shown up on time. Over there. Quickly.”
You scurried over to the table he indicated, sitting down in the empty chair between two Slytherin boys.
The boy on your right gave you a sympathetic look, waiting until Snape turned to continue writing on the board before leaning over and whispering to you.
“We’re doing a project in pairs, but me an’ my friend Theo here said we’d add you in ours to make a group of three. Snape wanted you to work with Longbottom.”
The boy on your left—Theo, you presumed—leaned in to whisper, “Yeah, we wouldn’t wish that upon anyone. ‘specially not a pretty thing like you.”
You blushed at the flattering name, whispering back, “Longbottom? Merlin- thank you.”
He grinned brightly, seemingly pleased at your willingness to hold a conversation with him, if the gentle flush of his cheeks was any indication.
The boy on your right tugged at your sleeve with a charming smile. “That’s Theodore Nott, by the way. And I’m Mattheo Riddle, darlin’.”
~~~
“Well, I think we’re just about finished,” Theodore mused, sitting up from where he’d been leaning over your group’s poster board. “Think we used enough glitter?”
“No such thing as enough glitter.”
You laughed at the two boys’ antics as the three of you sat on the floor of their dorm room. They had a good rapport with each other, one that you fit easily into. There was no real awkwardness as you all joked with each other. You actually felt like you belonged, like you’d been a part of their pair for years.
It was a nice thought.
“Well, if we’re finished, then I desperately need to go to the library,” you sighed. “Flitwick assigned twenty inches on the difference between the Conservo and the Protego charms.”
The two groaned in sympathy.
“Good luck,” Mattheo shook his head, resting his hand on your knee.
You’d noticed that both boys were extremely touchy. They always seemed to be accidentally brushing hands with you, peering over your shoulder to look at the poster, and finding any excuse to rest their hands somewhere on your body.
You nodded your thanks, putting away your personal reading book, your glitter quills, and your googly eye stickers that you as a group had had far too much fun with.
“See you guys around!”
~~~
“Woah- Here, kitty kitty kitty!”
You blinked sleepily, annoyed at whomever was disrupting your nap by the warm common room fireplace.
Two blurry, vaguely boy-shaped blobs plopped down on the floor by you, one of the blobs’ bags spilling out its contents all over the floor. You swatted lazily at a feather quill that rolled to a stop beside you on the rug, quickly losing interest and yawning.
“Whose cat is this?” The shorter one—the one whose bag had dumped parchment and jellybeans all over the floor—asked, suddenly scratching the top of your head.
You froze, an unfamiliar rumble rising from your throat at the odd sensation.
You were purring.
If you were human right now, you were sure your skin would be prickling from the stranger’s gentle touch.
Gentle touch had always been uncommon for you. Your family was odd and disjointed. You grew up without a father, raised only by grumpy paintings and a sour house elf.
And once he returned, on a the back of a winged marvel, with stories of rats and traitors and time, his overjoyed smile had faltered when he learned you wore green and not red. His now ever-present pinched look of poorly hidden disappointment whenever he looked at you, paired with your god-cousin’s short and stiff hugs and forced smiles, you felt like an outsider in your own home.
“Virgil!”
The strangers startled you out of your reverie. Your ears flattened back, but the taller one just pet your head softly. The short one crossed its arms, shaking its head vehemently.
“No, dude. Why the fuck would you name our cat that?”
“Cause of the book? Dante’s Inferno?” The taller one pointed at one of your abandoned books lying on the rug, most of the stack on Charms subjects, except for that one. You must’ve fallen asleep while reading it, and changed into a cat at some point during your nap.
“Nerd.”
“Just because you don’t ever read, Riddle-”
You perked up at the familiar name. Blinking away sleep, the two blobs- boys come into better focus.
They’re your fucking group mates.
Fucking Circe.
Theo goes back to petting your head, his steady pets prompting you to instinctively push your head up against his palm to demand more.
“Oh- hi Vee,” he laughed, moving his hand further down to stroke along your spine.
“Wh- We’re not calling it that.”
~~~
They ended up calling you that.
They visited the library after school every day now, where sure enough, you’d always be sitting by the fire or sprawled out on the couch.
Some days, they brought extra friends. On those days, you’d always squawk and wind between your boys’ ankles to get their attention when they got too engrossed in a conversation, like an adorable, jealous tripping hazard.
And after you’d turned in your project, you had also remained friends with them as a human. You now lit up every time you saw them in the halls or the common room, and they always grinned whenever they saw you.
It was nice.
~~~ “Hel- oh.”
You watched as your History of Magic table mate, a usually kind and friendly Hufflepuff girl, scrambled out of her seat to sit elsewhere as soon as you set your bag down. You stared after her in shock.
What had you done to warrant that?
As you stared after her, you finally became aware that your classmates around you were staring at you with a mixture of curiosity and fear.
Everyone avoided the seat next to you like the plague.
You sat alone that class.
~~~
You set your textbook down on your desk, sitting down heavily in your chair.
Today had been awful. Nobody dared come near you in any of your classes, like you were a leper or something. You ate lunch alone, walked to class alone… you just hoped Potions, as your last class of the day, would pass quickly.
“Hello, lovely,” Mattheo greeted warmly, the corners of his eyes crinkling up as he sat down beside you—the first person to do so all day. “How are you this fine afternoon?”
You rolled your eyes grumpily, steadfastly ignoring him as you doodled on your parchment.
You suddenly felt fingers underneath your chin, lifting your head up until your eyes met Mattheo’s.
“He asked you a question, doll,” Theodore breathed into your ear from behind you. “Answer.”
You shivered at his tone and firm behavior, blushing despite yourself. “‘m- ‘m fine.”
“Good boy,” Mattheo sighed, patting your cheek patronizingly. “Was that really so hard?”
Your cheeks flush immediately at the name, as you remain a bit confused as to their sudden changes in personality.
Where were the lovably awkward pair of dorks that you usually hung out with, both as a human and as a cat? (Although, you supposed, they didn’t know about the latter.)
Maybe you were wrong about them?
~~~
You weren’t wrong about them.
You leaned against the side of Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, watching interesting passerby on the street as you waited for your god-cousin, Harry, to return back outside.
You were so focused on people-watching, imagining backstories for everyone, (especially the creepy Gryffindor who liked to hit on you no matter how many times you said no: Cormac McLaggen. The boy had practically sprinted away as soon as he caught sight of you leaning against the wall. Odd that he also had a black eye and a busted nose) that you were completely startled by arms wrapping around you from behind.
You jumped, but relaxed a bit when they put their chin on your shoulder and whispered into your ear, “It’s Mattheo, doll. Calm down.”
“You just scared the shit outta me. Tellin’ me to calm down,” you roll your eyes. “What do you want?”
“Go out with me.”
“What?”
“M-me. And Theo. Both. Yeah?”
“Wow. Smooth, dude. Real master of words, aren’t you?” A new voice chimed in sarcastically.
You spun around at the arrival of a second person, relaxing when you saw that it was just Theo.
“What Matty is trying to ask is, will you go out with us?”
You gape at them.
“Both of you?”
“Ideally, yes.”
You blink at them, eyes wide.
Mattheo shifts nervously.
“Sure.”
Theodore blinks, like he wasn’t expecting that answer. “Sure? Like- like yes you will?”
“Yeah.”
The two boys exchange a rather disbelieving, giddy look.
“Uh, how does the Three Broomsticks at seven tonight sound?”
“Works for me,” you shrug, a pleased smile slowly creeping onto your face.
“Oh! Here. We- we got this for you. In case you said yes,” Mattheo digs through his pockets, pulling out a small, rectangular box, like the kind that watches come in. “But, you have to promise you’ll wait to get back to your dorm room before you open it.”
You laugh, shrugging. “Okay, sure. I promise.”
Theo narrows his eyes at you before sticking out his pinky finger. “Pinky promise?”
You laugh again at the way his serious look contrasts with his childish request, obliging and wrapping your pinky around his. “Pinky promise.”
~~~
You shut your dorm door behind you, dropping your bag on the floor and collapsing onto your bed. You, true to your word, waited to open the box, pulling it out of your pocket only just now.
It was small, simple gift box, with a scrap of folded parchment taped to the top.

Thought you might like this. We’d love to see you wear it on our date.

You raise your eyebrows, setting the note aside and lifting the lid, unsure of what to expect.
You were not expecting there to be a blue cat collar inside, the dangling metal tag reading:

"Let's run away together."
These were the words Jasper told you a few years ago. You met each other at school, you were sixteen, almost seventeen, and he was supposed to be eighteen. You arrived in the middle of the semester of senior year. Due to you amazing intellect, you were a year advanced and you found yourself in the same english literature class as him.
"Alright class, we have a new student joining us for the rest of the year." Mrs. Danvers told and you entered the class.
The sound of your heels click-clacked on the ground as you entered in the class, a low waisted blue jean along with a black off shoulder with pale pink furr at the top. Your hand bag in your right hand was made of pale pink furr to match your top and your school hand bag was around your left shoulder. You had a golden necklace with a heart locket, a bunch of golden bracelet around both wrists and very rosy cheek. Overall you guessed ut, you looked like the perfect mean, fake and plastic girl.
"Hi, I'm Y/n L/n/n I moved here from New York and I'm sixteen, almost seventeen." Your voice was sweet like honey and suddenly every boys of the class were drooling.
"Thank you miss. Y/n/n you can sit beside Longbottom." The teacher told and a red head boy quickly rose his hand to the annoyance of the rest of the class. The girls because you were competition, and the boys they were jealous.
As you reached your sit, you saw your new sitmate move the chair for you and you widened your eyes a little before letting out a soft giggle. At this sound every boys of the class awwed while the girls huffed as you sat down.
From the back of the class, Jasper heard his brother, Edward, scoff before rolling his eyes and the blond empath looked at you once again. He didn't knew why but he couldn't feel anything from you. He was curious, because he couldn't feel anything from you but you weren't numb either. It was as if you were feeling something but you weren't. Then Jasper realize that in fact you were feeling something, he was the one not feeling anything anymore. From the moment you stepped inside of the classroom, everyone else's emotions disappeared and only your calm state stayed. At the end of the class, Jasper wanted to greet you, only to be blocked by a bunch of boy running to carry your bag or propose you a bunch of snack and you disappeared between the hue of students.
The next time Jasper saw you it was at lunch. At first he didn't notice you, but when Bella's akwardness toward Mike and Carter's love sick feeling for Alice suddenly disappear, Jasper couldn't help but look up. And there you were, surrounded by a bunch of guys as they were holding your bag, trail of food or handing you some homeworks to copy.
"Please not the new girl." Jessica groaned and everyone at the table looked toward you.
"I had a class with her this morning. I heard that her father was the CEO of a car company that was moving here. She is so spoiled, in class she almost crying because Jane took her notebook and wouldn't give it back when she asked." Jessica started her daily gossip and Edward rolled his eyes.
"She can't fool just anyone with that smile." The mind reader huffed as you passed beside their table.
"Hey Y/n !" Mike grinned like a lost puppy and you looked up from your pink cell phone toward the sound.
"Oh hey, Micheal right ? In spanish ?" You tilted your head and Jasper suddenly felt like his dead heart skipped a bit.
"It's Mike actually... but it's fine ! Wanna sit with us ?" The boy grinned and you looked around the table.
Then there was a silence as you glanced at everyone, noticing their rather annoyed or uneasy expression on their face before that your e/c eyes met his golden eyes. It was as if the world stopped, you held your breath in aww as you looked at his golden lock and his sharp jawline. He had a pale skin, very pale, like three other people at the table but his looked the best of them all. His golden orbs were shining due to the light of the cantine and you couldn't help but want to press your pink glossed lips over his.
"Y/n ?" Mike called and you snapped out of your trance, looking back at him with an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry. But I don't think I'll sit here." You walked away and the group could here the boys bombarding you with invitation to lunch as you went to the back of the cantine.
"Shoot ! Man ! It's your weird hair that scared her !" Eric teased and the two boys started to bicker.
"She doesn't seem that bad...?" Angela hesitated and Carter passed his arm around Alice's shoulders who looked tense.
"I don't think we should be friend her." The petite vampire expressed and Jasper frowned.
"Why ?" He asked and Alice shared a glance at Edward before looking back at her untouched trail of food.
"Just because."

After this day Jasper would see you everywhere, in the corridor, the parking lot, in class, he even saw you in the forest a few time, by a lake that flowed close to the town. Yet even with Alice and Edward's warning he couldn't help but want to see you. Whenever you were around, he would feel at peace. So he started to chance his path at school, passing by your locker so you would be near by, waiting until you start to head inside to head in english, parking his car near yours every morning. He wanted to be beside you as much as possible but still respect your boundaries.
"Alright class ! Today we'll start a few group project about the book rode in class. You will be paired up by two and work on a presentation of one of the book we studied in class." Mrs. Danvers announced and you looked up from your pink fluffy notebook.
"Before anyone ask. I am making the group and I want no complaining." The teacher told and everyone groaned in annoyance.
"I said no complaining ! Alright now let's form the group." The brunette teacher announced and started to name a few people of the class.
You weren't expecting anything. You would go along with anyone. You just hoped that you wouldn't be paired with Edward Cullen or Jasper Hale, even if he was handsome, because strangely enough, their entire family and himself hated you for some reasons.
"Tonny and Mark." Mrs. Danvers told and Tonny, your sitmate, groaned.
"Sad we could have been together !" He told you and you sent him a half sad smile.
"That's unfortunate." You replied and he slouched on his chair.
"Y/n and Jasper." The teacher announced and you felt your blood run cold.
Turning around toward the said blond, you ignored the whine of the boys and your eyes locked with his for the second time since you moved here. You couldn't read him. You didn't knew if he felt happy or horrified that he was paired up with you. Yet you knew that it was definitly not going to well between the two of you. He hated you for whatever reason and your father hated boys in general.
At the end of the class, you went to your locker, followed by your usual among of boys and put your english stuff in your locker before seeing Jasper approching you from afar. You quickly told the four boys around you to go and fixed your high poney tail before that the godlike blond stops before you.
"Hey." Jasper greeted you and you sent him a shy smile with a tiny wave.
"Hey, Jasper right ?" You asked. It was a habit of yours, always checking if you had their name correctluy first.
"Right, and you're Y/n right ?" He asked back even if he knew it.
"Right, that's me." You let out a shy, uneasy laugh and the boy smiled softly.
"So for the english project, are we doing it at your house or mine ?" Jasper asked and you frowned slightly.
"Cloud we do it at yours ? My father isn't really happy when I bring someone home, especially when it's a boy you know." You looked and away and Jasper nodded.
"Right okay. So this afternoon at mine ?" He clarified and you nodded quickly.
"Yes ! This afternoon, at yours !" You confirmed with an excited shime in your eyes and Jasper chuckled.
You were cute. He could feel how excited you were. He didn't knew if it was because you wanted to work of if it was because you would get to see his house, or even if it was because you wanted to spend some time with him, but he hoped it was the later, because he couldn't wait to spend some time with you.
So for the rest of the afternoon he waited patiebtly for the end of class to arrive and once he finished his biology class, he quickly made his way to the parking lot, seeing you already waiting by your car.
"Hey !" You greeted and he smiled a little.
"Hey, ready to go ?" Jasper asked and you nodded closing your cell phone before putting it in your hand bag.
Luckily, today your father was the one to drop you off at school which mean you didn't need ton follow Jasper in your car but could simply ride with him to his house. On the way there, the two of you had a short discussion. You discovered that he had two more sibling as a plus of Edward, Carter and Alice and that they liked to go hiking on sun days. You learned that the loved to have game nights when everyone was at home and you couldn't help but smile at the way he was talking about his family with such a big smile on his face.
"What about you ? Anything to share ?" Jasper offered and you thought, your eyes drifting to the scenery around you.
"Well, my mother dies when I was seven, since then I live with my father. In contrary of what people could think, he's a very present father even if he's busy with work. Sometimes, when he comes home, we have a few dinner together and we always share a few joke. He loves to bake so whenever we can' we're baking together ! We also paint a lot together, whivh you saw me a bunch of time by the river painting the scenery." You grinned and Jasper's eyes widened.
"How do you know that I see you ?" The golden eyes boy questioned and you giggled.
"You're not very well hidden by the trees you know ?" You teased and if he could, Jasper would have blush in embarrassement.
"It's okay, you can join me next time Jaz." You giggled before realizing how you called him.
"I mean-"
"It's alright. You can call me that." Jasper cut your apologize and you mirrored his smile.
"Alright." You looked back at the road as a soft music was playing from the radio.
You couldn't wait to know him more.
Tumblr media
Then you and Jasper got closer. At first it was only a few shy 'hi' or tiny waves but after two weeks on working on your project together, Jasper would pick you up everyday, and bring you home everyday. At first your father didn't like it, but he came around eventually. After three weeks of hanging out together, Jasper told you that he was a vampire. He knew it was dangerous but when you squealed and told him how cool this was, the empath couldn't help but love you even more.
"You can't be serious ?" Edward glared and Jasper huffed.
"Yes I am, I don't see why Bella could have dinner with us but Y/n can't." The empath replied angrily.
"Come on, you should have told us sooner, Esme didn't cook enough for two ! And Alice already told you to not hang out with that girl ! She is dangerous !" The golden brunette scolded.
"We all know that Bella never eat everything Esme made and no Y/n is not ! No one of you even tried to befriend her ! And what did you even see to be so reculant into meeting her ?" Jasper glared toward his sister.
"Jasper don't talk to your sister like that !" Esme stepped in and the blond rolled his eyes.
He had enough. Everytime you would come to his house for the english project, his family would say rude comment regarding you. From the way you dress for Alice to your weak looking body from Emmett to your parfum from Rosalie, they were always criticizing you somehow and each time Jasper could feel how it upset you or made you sad. He had enough of it.
"What did Alice see for you all to be so rude with Y/n !? Even you are Esme when we know that you are the sweetest woman on walking on Earth !" Jasper pointed out and the rest of the family stayed silent. Even Bella was there and she looked incredibly uncomfortable.
Then Emmett moved to open the door, revealing your figure about to knock at the door. He boy shoot you a tiny glare and you sent him an uneasy smile with a hint of fear.
"How long have you been standing there ?" The bearlike vampire asked and you shifted nervously under his gaze.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to overheard anything but then I heard shouting and I didn't want to knock in the middle of an argument. I can leave if you-"
"Yes."
"No." Jasper glared at Rosalie, who rolled her eyes, before sitting and joining you at the entrance.
Looking at you, Jasper frowned a little as he notived how you weren't wearing your usual tight shirt with dentel and a vest but you had a fletter sleeve white t-shirt instead, your usual low waisted jean was replaced by a high waisted jean with large leg, your heels were replaced by a pair of sneakers and your usual high pony tail was down, letting your hair cover your neck as much as possible, blocking the slight ordor of the different fragrance you used tonight. Jasper noticed how you tried your best to hide the freckles on your face with some make as one time Bella made abad comment about them. He noticed how you changed your entire look just to please his family's taste and he hated it. He loved how you would always ask him to tie your hair for you, or how he would count your freckles when he was bored.
"You look different." He acknowledged and you smiled brightly, but he could see it was fake.
"Yeah ! I didn't want to wear my usual style today ! Trying something new you know. Do you like it ?" You asked hopefully and Jasper frowned slightly as he heard Edward's snicker in the living room.
"It's... unusual for sure ?" The blond vampire replied as he moved out of the way, inviting you in.
"I must say, this smells really good Mrs. Cullen." You tried to compliment as everyone sat around the dinning table.
"Surely it smells better than you." Rosalie muttered, but made it loud enough as you could hear it from your sit and your smile fell a little while Jasper glared.
During the dinner the mood was tense. You knew it was because of you and Jasper could feel your guilty from across the room as you slowly ate your food.
"So Y/n ?" You immediately rose your head and looked toward Carter curiously.
"Jasper told us your mother was dead when you were younger. It must have hurt." The bruney male pointed out and you let out an uneasy laugh while looking away.
"Yeah it was." You muttered.
"How did she die ?" Bella asked blantly and you held your breath a little, image of your mother's death replaying in your head.
"She hum... she died in a car accident." You tried your best to not stutter and Jasper looked at you with worry, all he wanted was to comfort you.
"How old were you again ?" Edward smirked slightly, keeping the topic on.
"I was seven." You lowered your head and they hummed.
"That's young, how can you be so okay with it ?" Alice asked and Jasper glared at his siblings.
"Guys, stop." He growled lowly.
"No no, we want to know how did she cope with it all." Rosalie gave you a sickening sweet smile and you felt your stomach fell inside of you.
"I... Well I guess it was with time. And I was young, I didn't knew my mom very well-"
"So you didn't felt a tiny bit sad ?"
"What ? Oh no I felt devastated-"
"Were you in the car accident too ?"
"Yeah I was-"
"But you're fine ? Don't you think it's a little unfair for your mother ?"
"Guys. Stop. That."
"I think-"
"Don't you wish it was you ?"
"You don't even have a scar."
"I fould feel guilty if I were you."
"That's kind of unsensitive if you don't."
"I'm sorry. My father want me home." You stood up quickly without even looking up, afraid to show them you tears stained face.
Quickly walking out of the three story mansion, you didn't see the grins on the Cullen kids' faces and Jasper's worried and alarmed expression as you stepped in your car;
"Y/n/n I'm so sorry, I didn't-"
"It's okay Jaz. I don't even know why I showed up when I knew that your family hated me." You wiped away a tear as Jasper stood by the window of your car.
"No no, none of this is your fault don't feel guilty please I should have known they were going to be like that. None of this is your fault they were just a bunch of asshole please don't cry darling." Jasper put one of his cold hand against your cheek and you grabbed his hand in yours leaning in his familiar touch.
"I'm sorry Jaz... For not being good enough for you or your family... I'm sorry I couldn't reach their expectation." You started your car and Jasper moved away with sad eyes.
"Please don't leave me darling." He whispered and you looked down at your lap before sending him a sad look.
"I'll see you later Jaz." You drove away and Jasper watched your car disappear between the trees of the forest, his hand slowly clenching into fist.
He was mad. He didn't understand why was his family so rude with you. They all accepted Bella when she forced herself on the family why could they not accept you even after how hard you tried to reach their standart, how hard you tried to understand their life style and always covering for them whenever a teacher would ask here they are when they hunt. Jasper hated how his family blantly hated you for no reasons at all when all you did was making him happier than he ever was.
"Why would you do that ?" Jasper whispered not even turning around to face his family.
"Jasper you have to understand-"
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT !?" It was the first time Jasper rose his voice and his eyes were dark, almost black.
"Jasper don't-"
"Please don't. You two did nothing while they are harassing Y/n questiong that clearly made her uncomfotable what is wrong with you all !? I was finally at peace !! I was finally truly happy, not because someone else felt happy but because I felt genuinly happy for once in my immortal life and you had to ruin it !? You had to be rude, you have to make her feel worthless !?" Jasper growled and his siblings and Bella frowned slightly.
"Why do you care so much anyways ?" Emmett crossed his arms on his chest.
"BECAUSE I LOVE HER !!" The empath reveale and everyone stood there in disbelief.
"I love her so much it fucking hurt to see her and feel her so demaged by the one who are supposed to support me forever. I don't understand why you would accept Bella when she pratically forced herself on our famil but can't accept the strongest and kindest girl walking on Earth. Why do you all hate Y/n so much ?" Jasper asked deseperatly but only got the silence as an answer causing him to scoff at his family before starting walk away.
"You all are unbelievable."
That night, Jasper showed up at your window to see you curved into a ball, soft whimper and sniffs audible from under your cover.
"Oh darling..." The words slipped from his lips and you looked out of your cover with glossy eyes, only killing his dead heart even more.
"I'm so sorry darling... I love you so much I'm so sorry..." Jasper whispered as he slided beside you and you immediately vurled inside of his arms, seeking for the warmth only he could give you even with a cold skin.
The both of you stayed in that position, for a while, him slowly caressing your hair and you sniffing from time to time as you listened to the silence inside his chest, calming your nerves. After a while, Jasper looked down at your figure debating if he should do his next move or not. But you needed to get away from them. Both of you.
"Let's run away together" His voice was calm and you looked up at him with red eyes from crying.
"But your family-"
"Won't do anything. I don't think I can trust them for a while after tonight." Jasper cut you and you frowned.
"Is it because of m-"
"Darling, nothing is your fault. We're going to pack your bag and tell you're dad what happened. He will understand." The vampire told you and you hesitated before nodding.
"But what about your family ?" You questioned silently.
"This is their fault. They will have to assume the result of their actions."
Tumblr media
So here you were six years later, barely twenty-three years old, cooking in the kitchen waiting for your husband to come back from his day at work. Yeah Jasper was working. He was actually working in the library near the town you decided to settle in. You worked too, you were a teacher for pre-schooler. Then you heard the bell ring at the door and your dog, Fanny, barked loudly causing you to frown.
"Fanny ! Don't growl !" You scolded as youi wiped your hand on your appron before opening the door.
There stood a girl, she looked like she was eleven or something, and she held a box of cookies in her hands with a smile. To be honest she kind you reminded you of someone but you didn't knew who.
"Hey, can I help you dearie ?" Your soft adult side came out and Fanny ran at your feet.
"Hello ! My name is Renesmee and I'm here on behalf of my family ! My four siblings, our two parents and I moved a couple of miles away and we wanted to invite you and your family for dinner. These are for you." The girl grinned while handind you the box of cookie and you sent her an apologetic smile.
"I'm so sorry, I'm already making dinner. Come on in thought." You invited and the golden brunette smile while stepping inside of the house after you.
The little looked around in aww as the vintage style was all around the house. On the wall there was a few painting, along with some pictures of your dog, yourself and Jasper all around and the smell of fresh bread greeted Renesmee as she sat down.
"It's very pretty here." She complimented and you smiled.
"Thank you, my husband and I settled here a few years back ourselves. You could invite your family for dinner thought. I always love to meet new people." You replied and Renesmee nodded gently.
"Come by in thirty minutes, everything should be ready by then." You added and the girl nodded before walking out of your house, escorted by Fanny who got a few scratches behind the ears as a reward before that the little waved see you later.
So now, thirty minutes later, you were placing seven more plates around your dinner table that you extanded. You texted Jasper to tell him about the unexpected guests so he could prepare and you smiled as the bell rang and Fanny ran to the door.
"Ay you big girl, out of the way." You shooed her away before opening the door, a bright smile plastered on your face as you saw seven people by your door. They all looked oddly familiar but you and your amazing memory couldn't remember from where you knew them.
"Hi, hello ! You must be our new neighbor. I'm Y/n L/n/n-Hale, please come on in." You moved out of the way, missing the glance the family shared between themselves before stepping walked in the dinning room and they all sat around the dinning table while you grabbed some hot plat with a kitchen glove.
"You're house is lovely." A wavy brunette woman complimented and you grinned, she looked around twenty-six to twenty-eight years old.
"Thank you, my husband and I designed it a few years back, he should probably be home soo-" Your reply was cut short when Jasper bargged inside of the house with a serious yet worried expression.
"Darling are you alright !? I've smell a couples of vampires around the house and-" Jasper cut himself when he noticed who was sitting around your dinner table while you froze in confusion.
"Jasper ?" The father of the family asked and you forwned slightly before that it cklicked inside of your head.
"Shit !" You swore under your breath as you finally recognized the people in your dinning room.
"What are you all doing here ?" Jasper growled slowly making his way to you.
"Jasper we weren't-"
"Why are you here ?" Jasper glared and you moved around the table to join his side.
"Jaz, honey, calm down alright ? They were not going to do anything." You bit the inside of your cheek as your husband leaned into your touch.
"If he is my uncle Jasper then are you the problematic mean girl ?" Renesmee asked and you turned to her in confusion.
"I'm sorry ?" You replied.
"Y/n was anything but problematic." The ex-soldier stepped in and Edward glared at him.
"She made you run away from us ! We're literally your family !" The golden brunet replied and you looked down, it was the same thing all over again.
"If you all weren't that awful with her I would have never proposed her to run away with me. You all were blantly rude and totally ignored her discomfort, you made her question her whole being from her personality to her way of dressing, I had to spent years, YEARS, to help her regain her confidence again do you know how helpless I felt ? Listening to the love of my life criyng herself to sleep without being able to make her feel better because it would have just creat her some fake happiness ? Do you know how I felt when no one of you even tried to befriend her while alml of you sacrified your life plenty of times for Bella while she was just human ?! You disregarded my feelings and thought only because you were selfish enough to think that I only belonged with you. You made me run away from you." Jasper revealed with venom as his eyes darkened and the room fell silent.
"Jasper we're so sorry..." Alice's voice was small as she took a step foward and you felt Jasper hold tighten around your waist.
"The day Y/n arrived at school I- I saw you both together. And you were happy. But the rest of us weren't. And then I saw you both running away and I thought- I thought that Y/n somehow turned you against us. I saw us fighting over her I thought- I thought that she would break us apart somehow and..." Alice trailed off and you frowned slightly at the realization.
"You didn't want to lose your best friend and brother..." You finished silently and everyone turned to you.
"I know how that feels." You chuckled bitterly before moving away from Jasper's hold.
"Jasper was the first person you ever considerated family, you both spent years together before finding the rest of your family. Even I could see the close bond between you two. Between you all." You smiled softly, disappearing in the kitchen before coming back with a letter.
"I understand why you did what you did. You could have probably be less harsh sure, but I understand. And I forgive you. Not because I know that Jasper would never forgive you if I don't but because I genuinly forgive you all." You put the letter on the table and everyone awwed at your kindness.
"We got your letter Rosalie. At first I didn't believe that you would be the first one apologizing, after all you were probably the scariest, but your words really had an effect on me." You told and the blond godess smiled.
She sent you this letter over four years ago, you didn't knew how the letter actually got delivered at your house but when you received this letter, you and Jasper just had marry and it was probably one of the best wedding gift ever.
After that everyone was now in the living room, catching up with each other. Jasper was still a little bit tense, his family understood why, but you didn't pay attention to it and continued to smile, offering them a cup of blood you had in your fridge in case Jasper had an emergency. You learned about Bella's pregnancy and the whole half-human, half-vampire baby war while the Cullens learned how Jasper made a lot of improvement being around humans.
"We're very sorry for the way we treated you before Y/n." Esme apologized one last time and you shrugged it off.
"Please forget it, the past is the past and we have plenty of years ahead of us." You joked and they all smiled.
"Are you planning on being turned by the way ?" Bella asked you and shook your head causing a few of them to rose their eyes.
"I'm waiting until I'm atleast 25 years old. I want to enjoy my youth as much as possible without passing like a weird girl being married to a twenty year old librarian. But until then I'm just fine while being human." You announced and the rest of the Cullen nodded in understanding while you poured Renesmee some apple juice in a tea cup.
"I still can't believe we thought you were bad..." Emmett muttered and they all shared an awkward laugh while you brusted in a fit of giggle.
"It's okay really. And it got me some times alone with Jaz for a while." You replied and your lover passed his arms around your waist, resting her chin on your shoulder.
Then a loud gasp was heard.
"ENGAGED OR MARRIED ALREADY ?" Alice rushed to your side, grabbing yours and Jasper's hand quickly and the rest of the family widened their eyes.
"Engaged. Y/n forced me to wait until all of us will get along again. She wanted my family to attend the wedding as much as hers." Jasper kissed you cheek and you chuckled leaning into his touch.
"Bless that girl, I hope you didn't expected to have you wedding without me." Alice playfully glared and everyone laughed.
If someone would have told you five years ago that you were getting along with Jasper's family you would have give them a big sad smile with an 'I wish' for answer. Now you couldn't wait for the awaiting future with your new family.

A/N: was feeling particularly soft and magical this september afternoon, so im here to feed the beasts (with love) gif creds: @osvaldrps-archived
Pairings: Husband!Neville Longbottom x Pregnant!Fem!Reader
Summary: Your family of nearly three share a moment in the living room. 0.8k words
Warnings: set when both are ~20s-30s, pregnancy, established relationship, dorky dad neville, fluff, smutty intentions but only jokes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's all got Neville worried down to the bone. The weight of being a good husband was heavy enough without the impending uncertainty of fatherhood. Which is not to say he isn't a good husband or that he wouldn't be a good father, but the stress of it can be crippling for the nervous wreck that he is.
Though, his shakiness is ever soothed by the way you hold the back of his head when you kiss him, the way you clean his glasses of dirt smudges, the way you catch his eye in your sweetly flowing skirts, dresses, and blouses. Daintily, he'd say, very prettily.
"They're like house pets at this point," you remark, tip-toeing over the vines weaving between the slats of your hardwood flooring. Throughout the kitchen, greenery creeps in through open windows, finding home in doorframes and across the ceiling. They can't help it. The September chill is getting to everybody.
"I just can't bring myself to trim them!" he chirps, catching your waist when you trip into his side, belly protruding against your floral house dress. "On second thought—"
"No, no, Nev! I like it. I like them. It's free interior design."
"Damn weeds. It's a free death sentence."
"You're just a pessimist!" you tease.
As open to ogling as you always seem to be, he hates that you can still make him blush after all these years. Even with duckfoot ivy weaving its way through your shared home and baby names listed on the chalkboard by the door, he's still blushing when you so much as look at him.
And right now, you're looking at your horticulturist's dirt-smudged under shirt exposed beneath his striped button down. Which also happens to be smudged with dirt.
He clears his throat.
"Nervous, my dear?" you tease when he diverts his gaze from down your neckline.
"Hmm? Oh, no, not at all"—his voice falters, and he tries to focus back on the delicate clay pot in his hands—"Craving anything for lunch?"
"Nothing much," you sigh, "maybe a bite of my husband."
He blinks, eyes wide open but blank like the dial tone is just ringing through his skull. He places the empty pot gently in the sink basin, moving both damp hands to your waist with that doe-eyed look.
"You've already got one in there, lovebug, we can't go around trying for another now, can we," he says. You toss your head back with laughter, and he watches you in annoyed amazement. Since when were you impervious to his awkward charm. "Come on, lunch. Anything you want."
He cups his hands together around your lower back, letting out a soft breath when you push his hair out of his face and thumb the dirt from his brow.
"Let's see... couple of ice lollies? Sounds good, dunnit?"
"Well-rounded, definitely," he says, patting your bum with a chuckle. "I'll make some sandwiches. And I've got time for a walk after."
"You'll spoil me rotten, Mr Longbottom!"
"Watch it, or you're getting triplets."
"Oh, you're nasty, Mr Longbottom," you tease, holding his chin and leaning in for a kiss. He spins you round and pats you towards the living area.
You hurdle a couple of roots and make it halfway to the hand-me-down chaise lounge in the corner when you feel a sharp twitch.
"Christ," you yelp, grabbing the arm of the chair with a hiss, slightly bent at the waist and taking a deep breath.
"Baby? What's going on?"
"She's kicking again!" Your palm is splayed across your rounded belly as you practice deep, circular breathing. There's a harsh clammer from the kitchen. Then silence.
Then he appears in the opening, hair flopping down over his forehead, brows furrowed, towel flung over his shoulder, so still you'd think he saw his old, cranky professor.
"...She?" he huffs, pushing a hand through his hair.
"Oh. Oh, Nev, I—" You cup your palm over your mouth with a sharp breath in. "You wanted it to be a surprise. I'm so sorry."
But a smile makes its way across his lips, pulling and tugging at the soft pink as he shuffles closer. Two strong hands meet yours on the curve of your belly, welcoming another jolt. One reaches for the back of your neck, and he leans in to kiss your worried forehead.
"We're having a baby girl?"
You nod, tears welling in your eyes when he tilts your chin up to peck your wobbly bottom lip. You feel the stubbly skin of his cheek with the pad of your thumb and let him kiss you once more.
"I was so restless, I had to know," you huff, "I'm such a spoilsport! You were so excited, Nev!"
"I know. And you're not a spoilsport. I'm still excited, know why?"
"Why?" you say, wiping your nose and pouting at him. He grins.
"Because she's ours."

Ginny: *From the kitchen* But I’m literally right here!
Ron: *Frustrated groan*

Ron: *Looking up at the ceiling* The smoke detector is a white bowl with a red M&M taped to it…

── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
"i can't believe that bitch sprout gave me a tutor..." you said while walking towards the library, where you would meet your new tutor.
"no, that's believable, sweety. what's unbelievable is that your tutor is going to be that longbottom dork!" pansy said while laughing.
"oh, shut up... he is probably so sweet" you responded annoyed at your friend's mean words. "i'll see you later"
you entered the library and scanned the place looking for that gryffindor boy. he was sitting all the way in the back, where you could barely see him. you approached him, "why are we sitting here?" you asked.
neville looked up at you, "oh, hey" he thought for a second before answering to your question, "i don't know, i just felt like sitting here, i guess" you nodded and sat beside him as you watched him open the herbology book. "so, why are you particularly struggling with?"
"umm... i don't know, i don't really pay attention in class" you looked around the table which was filled with books that neville picked up. "why do we need all these books for?" you picked a random one, reading the title out loud, "'the enchanting world of magical plants: a guide to botanical mysticism', what the fuck is this? does this even enter on the test?"
"no... i just thought it might help..." he said, somehow embarrassed.
you grabbed another book, "'herbology for dummies', excuse me? are you mocking me, longbottom?" you looked at him angrily.
"what? that's just how it's called, it's not my fault! it's a good book i read it!" he said while taking the book from your hands and putting it away. "let's just get into studying" you sighed, already angry at him —not for a good reason—. basically, your first actual impression of neville longbottom was ruined.
you only knew about him because you saw him sometimes in class and at the corridors, but mostly you just knew what draco malfoy and his friends used to say about him. at that time, you thought they might have been right.
you were drawn away from your thoughts by the guy's voice, "i think these are the only topics that are gonna be on the test... i don't think mrs. sprout will ask anything about the water plants because we just started it..."
"i should just use a cheat sheet or something..."
"i mean, you could but i think sprout is going to do an anti-cheat spell, you know? because it's the end of the semester and all" neville looked at you with a small smirk.
you covered your face with your hands annoyed, "shit, you're right..." you let out a small breath, "okay, just teach me the most important so i can go, i want to go see the slytherin quidditch practice after this."
"slytherin is practicing today? i thought oliver booked the field..." he spoke, thinking out loud.
"that's the thing with you gryffindors, you think the world revolves around you." you said.
"how is that thinking the world revolves around us?" he rolled his eyes. "and that's really bold coming from someone who is friends with malfoy" he laughed annoyed.
you gasped, "okay, first of all, i'm not friends with draco; second of all, YOU are a friend of THE harry potter so of course you wouldn't notice the harry potter syndrome you all gryffindors fall into... and third of all, you are my tutor, you shouldn't say such things"
"i'm sorry, what?!" he opened his eyes in shock, completely offended. "how could you say that? you were the one who started this!"
"oh, real mature, longbottom" you looked away, trying to ignore him.
"also, what the hell is the harry potter syndrome?!" he asked with his eyebrows making a frown.
"exactly!" you said as neville just tsked at your response. "just teach me whatever you have to teach me" you added still looking away.
neville sighed and started going through the book, explaining every topic best way he could because due to your lack of response he couldn't know what you struggled most with.
this went on for quite some time, you had been swimming inside your deepest weirdest thoughts, not paying attention to anything neville had to say. at one point you even felt bad, it felt like you had these little cartoony versions of yourself on each shoulder saying "he is trying to help you!" and the other one saying "whatever, he is probably already used to being ignored. he was being rude". the boredom was just starting to get more vivid and you let out a yawn.
"you could at least pretend like you are listening!" he said. "i'm doing this for you, you know? i don't want to be here either."
"then leave! i'm not asking you to do anything! i just stayed here in case you were going to tell on me to sprout like the nerd loser you are!" you got up from the chair and closed the book. the only reason why you weren't screaming at each other was the fact that you were still at the library.
"what?!" he looked at you shocked. you looked at him in his eyes, you could sense he was somehow hurt. you stayed looking at each others eyes for a few seconds right before throwing yourselves into each others mouths.
you didn't even know how was it that the situation took this turn but now neville longbottom was sitting you on a table, throwing everywhere the herbology books he picked up while kissing you roughly with his hands grabbing your ass. —and he was honestly such a good kisser too, he knew exactly what to do and how to do it.
you quickly unbottoned your jeans needing more of his touch. he looked down at your movements and smirked, "shit, you wanna do it with a nerd loser, y/n?" he laughed.
"shut up" you unbuckled his belt, throwing it behind the books that were still on the table. neville laughed, absolutely forgetting about his shy and kind persona. he brought you closer and lowered your jeans, rapidly slipping his hand on your panties and caressing your bare cunt. "just do it, longbottom" he smiled and kissed your lips once more while lowering your panties and finally taking his erection out of his clothes. neville shoved his dick inside of you making you bite your lip to silence your scream. your body layed down on the table trying to adjust to his already rapid movements. your back already arching and hands begging for something to grab and hold on to. "neville, your cock feels so good..." you whispered.
neville bit his lip while increasing the pace. his hands ran through the inside of your shirt until finally meeting your breasts. he played with your nipples mercilessly as you moaned covering your mouth with your hand. "what has gotten you so excited?" he teased.
"you are lucky you are fucking me so good, if not, i would have left." you responded between gasps and moans. "i thought you were a virgin... how many girls have you fucked?"
"you are the only slytherin i had left" he said with that smirk on his face again.
"fuck you, longbottom." you sensed you were close, you wouldn't hold it for much longer.
"you are guilty of that." he laughed at the same time you finally released. cumming all over his cock and leaving cum leaking on the table. "damn, y/n... that was hot"
you breath out and dressed up. "thank you, tutor, i'm going to the quidditch practice. i'll see you tomorrow for another tutoring session!"

"Uncle Jamie!" Aries yells, barreling into the house. "Uncle Reggie!"
"Calm down, little one." James says while cooking.
"But, Uncle Jamie."
"Rose and Lillian are still sleeping. Quiet."
"Where's Uncle Reggie?"
"Still sleeping."
Marlene walks into the kitchen. "Hey, Jamie. Where is everyone?"
"Sleeping. You're the only ones that arrive a day early."
"Sorry." Marlene says sarcastically. "I just miss your cooking."
"You mean you miss Mum' cooking."
"Yeah. Yeah, I do."
"James!" Dorcas yells. "Where's Reg!"
"Up in our room!"
"He's still sleeping!?"
"Yeah!"
"Thanks! I'll be back!"
"She's going to go wake him up, isn't she?"
"Artemis probably went with her." Marlene says. "But, yeah. She is."
"Aunt Marls!" Rose yells and runs up to hug her.
"What are you doing up?"
"She's a light sleeper lately. All the yelling probably woke her up." James says.
"When are Mum and Mama getting here?" She asks, pulling apart from Marlene.
"Tomorrow."
Rose groans. "But I want to see them."
"I know. You'll have to wait."
"What about Uncle Barty and Uncle Evan?"
"Tomorrow. Like always."
"Dad!" Lillian' voice yells from the other room.
"In the kitchen!"
Lillian comes walking in the kitchen. "Hey Aries. Auntie Marls. Dad, I'm hungry."
"What do you think I'm doing?"
"Talking with Aunt Marls."
"James, phone." Regulus says, walking into the kitchen with Dorcas trailing behind.
"Marls?"
"Yep, got it." Marlene takes over James' cooking and grabs the phone from Regulus.
"Hello?"
"Jamie!!!" Lily' voice yells over the phone.
"Jesus. Don't scream in my ear like that, Lils."
"Sorry. Anyway, we just wanted to call you to let you know we're on our way."
"On your way here?"
"Yeah. Marls does it."
"Yeah, I know that. I just didn't think you would want to come today."
"I didn't. Harry did. And Mar gave in."
"Hey! Don't blame this on me." Mary yells from the other end at her wife.
"Anyway, we'll be there in 10."
"Yeah, ok. See you soon." The line goes dead.
"What did Lils want?" Regulus asks.
"Their coming early."
"Mm."
***
"Dad! Dada!" Harry' voice comes from the front door.
"Harry, calm down. Their probably in the dining room." Lily says. "Go get 'em."
Harry comes running in and goes right for James. James picks him up and sets him on his lap. Lily and Mary come in a few seconds later. "Hey, Mar, Lils. Tired?"
"Can we switch kids?" Mary asks. "He's tiring." She says, pointing at Harry. "Plus, he seems to like you more."
"And he looks exactly like him." Marlene says.
"You already know why he looks like me. Just like Rose and Lillian looks like Lils. Plus, he looks like both of us, Mar. Doesn't he?"
"I guess. He looks a lot like you, though."
"Mama, Mum!" Rose yells while running to Mary and Lily. Mary picks her up while Lily picks up Lillian. "Dad! You said they weren't coming today."
"I didn't know."
"Yeah, you did." Lillian says. "I heard you talking to Mum on the phone."
James rolls his eyes. Regulus smiles. "She likes to eavesdrop."
"She's seven. What'd you expect?" Marlene asks. "Aries does it all the time."
"I do not!" Aries yells defensively.
Dorcas gives Marlene a knowing look. "Yeah, sure, you don't."
"See, Mum! Mama believes me!"
Marlene gasps. "She does?"
"Mmh."
"That's very rude of her."
-
***
"Mama' home!"
"Auntie Dora!" Rose yells.
"Not even going to notice me?" Emmeline asks.
"I'll notice you, Auntie Lin." Lillian says.
"Thank you, my dear daughter."
"Not your daughter!" Regulus yells from the couch.
"That's what you think, Dada." Regulus sticks his tongue out at his daughter.
"That's not very nice, Uncle Reggie." Luna says.
"I'm sorry. I won't ever do it again." Regulus sticks his arms out for a hug, and Luna runs up to him to give him one.
"Where's James?" Emmeline asks.
"Cooking, like always. Marlene, Dorcas, Mary, and Lily are still sleeping. Aries, Artemis, and Harry are somewhere."
"Mary and Lily arrived yesterday, too?" Pandora asks.
"Suprised me, too. And James." Regulus turns to Luna. "You should go find Aries, Harry, and Artemis."
Luna gasps and runs into the kitchen. "There she goes."
***
"The cool aunts are here!"
"I hate to tell you, but you're not cool, Bel." Regulus says.
"That's very rude if you, Reg."
"Where's Rita?"
"Helping Cissa and Andy."
Rita walks in with Neville. "Yeah, thanks for helping."
"You're welcome, love." Rita rolls her eyes.
Andy comes in after with Ted and Nymphadora. "My daughter is an angel."
Narcissa comes in after with her wife, Alice, and their kids, Draco and Lila. Regulus smiles. "Really? Dora, Lila, Neville, Draco, the kids are playing hide and seek. Go find 'em." All four scream and run upstairs.
"Bitch."
"Who you callin' a bitch?" Sirius asks walking in with Remus and their son, Teddy. "Is it Bella? Cause if it is, then it's true."
"It's your brother." Narcissa says.
Sirius gasps. "My brother is not a bitch."
Remus covers Teddy' ears. "Sirius, language."
Sirius leans down to his son and says, "Go find the kids." Teddy immediately bults upstairs. "Better?" Remus rolls his eyes.
***
"Guess who's here!"
"Is it my best friend?" Remus asks.
"How did you know?"
"Don't ask silly questions, Pete." Frank says, walking in behind him.
"Fair."
***
"Your fav Zabini is here!"
"Yeah!"
"With your fav person of all time!"
Regulus shakes his head. "You two are like two peas in a pod."
Emma leans down to Blaise. "Go find everyone." He runs upstairs. "There now it's just us grown-ups."
"I wouldn't call you a grown-up." Ophelia says.
"Whatever."
***
"Where's Uncle Barty and Uncle Evan?" Aries asks.
"Probably -"
Marlene clamps her hand over Sirius' mouth. "Don't finish that sentence." She turns to Aries. "They'll be here soon." Aries nods his head and goes back upstairs.
A few minutes later, the door opens, and Barty and Evan walk in. "Ok, their either drunk or just horny."
Evan thinks. "Both."
Regulus rolls his eyes. "You two are late."
"And?" Barty asks.
"You were supposed to be here 2 hours ago." Ted says.
"Ok?"
"It's fine." Alice says. "As long as their here now."
"Al, I think you need to start thinking more." Narcissa says. "Something could have happened to us, and they wouldn't have been here."
"But nothing did happen, did it?"
"I could have killed you." Bellatrix says.
"What do you have against me?"
"You married my sister, and her kids have both your DNA."
Alice rolls her eyes. "That's not a good enough reason."
"That's what you think."
Just then, there were footsteps on the stairs. "Dad! Are Uncle Barty and Uncle Evan here yet?" Lillian asks.
"I don't know!" James yells back. "I think I heard the door open, though!"
"Dada!"
"Yes! Their here!" Regulus yells back.
"Guys! Uncle Barty and Uncle Evan are here!" A bunch of footsteps and all the kids come down.
"Uncle Barty!" Lila yells.
"Uncle Evan!" Nymphadora yells.
***
"Christmas dinner is ready!" James yells from the kitchen.
Regulus looks at the clock that reads 5pm. He's been cooking for how long? "Jesus christ, James." He wispers to himself.
Barty heard him. "What?"
"Nothing."
"No, tell me."
Regulus sighs. "I have no idea what time he woke up, but he's been cooking since, at least, 7am."
"Hey, James! What time did you wake up today!"
"Six! I started cooking dinner around eight!"
Barty walks in the kitchen. "Why'd you wake up at six then?"
"Breakfast. Cooked lunch in between, somewhere."
"Have you eaten anything?"
"Yeah. I'll be right back." James goes up the stairs.
Everyone sat down at the table and started eating. James still hasn't come down yet. Regulus gets up. "I'll be right back."
Regulus walks up the stairs and in their room. James is lying down on the bed, sleeping. "Oh, Jamie." Regulus lays down beside him, and James snuggles into him.
Rose and Lillian come in a little while later and lays down with them. They all fall asleep.
***
Regulus wakes up and checks the clock.
8:45
He checks the bed, and Lillian, Rose, and James are still sleeping. "Lillian, Rose. Come on. Up."
"What's wrong, Dada?" Rose asks.
"Come on. Let's go eat."
"I am hungry." Lillian says.
"Yeah? Go down, we'll meet you down there."
"Kk." They both shuffle out of bed and scurry out the door.
"Mon soleil. Come on, get up." James groans and pushes himself more into Regulus. "Allez. Se lever."
"No. No, you can't do that. You know what that does to me." James says groggily.
"That's exactly why I said it."
James groans again and gets up. "We're continuing this later, got it?" Regulus nods. "Good."
"Oh my god! Sleepy heads!" Marlene yells as soon as they get downstairs.
"Shut up." James says. "You're too loud."
"Not my fault. Anyway, wanna join in? We're playing garbage."
"Garbage?" Regulus asks.
"James, what have you been teaching him?"
"I taught Lillian and Rose. Reg is just..... Reg."
"Man, do I know what that feels like." Dorcas says.
Pandora raises her glass. "Amen."
"Come on, Reg." Barty says. "Everyone knows how to play but you."
"Come on." Evan says.
"I don't know."
"Please, Uncle Reggie." Nymphadora says.
"Please?" Luna begs.
Regulus sighs. "Fine."
***
"Hey!"
"That's not -"
"James!"
"What the fuck!"
"Language!"
"That's cheating!"

“Remember! The harder the growing, the higher the grading!” Growled the teacher as the rest of his class started to pack their things and leave.
Mr. Derwen Pembroke was Madam Sprout’s gloomier Welsh replacement after the war. Of the few teachers left, not many came back to Hogwarts. The lack of staff meant that he was the only herbology professor, one who hated teaching introduction classes, as he felt he was overqualified. He constantly reminded his students of it and only kept his rudeness to a minimum with his Advanced crew. As a Herbology 101 student, Draco absolutely despised him.
“Mister Malfoy.” Draco stopped at the door. “You are failing my class.” He turned around and walked deeper inside the class towards his incredibly bored-looking teacher. “Actually, I believe I am not, Professor.” Mr. Pembroke rolled his eyes and put his feet up on his already muddy desk. “You’re right, I’m sorry. You are not failing.” Draco felt he was being condescending. “Yet.” Of course he was. “But, if your thumb doesn’t get as green as that damn tie very soon, you most definitely will be.” He sighs “I would like for you to be tutored for this assignment. Mr. Longbottom should be at the AH2 greenhouse right about now. He’ll explain everything.” Draco nodded, keeping his groaning hushed as he turned to leave the classroom. “One more thing.” Mr. Pembroke stopped him. “Don’t ever try to correct me again, Mr. Malfoy. No one likes a smartass.” The boy didn’t argue, he knew better than to bargain with a snake. “Of course, Professor.” “Don’t be a suck up either.” He was taken aback. What did this man want? But, Derwen laughed before he had the chance to finish his thought. “I’m just kidding, Draco. Don’t be so uptight.” “Well, there’s not much left for me to be now, is there, Sir?” “Smartass.” He snorts.
AH2 meant Advanced Herbology II. Their greenhouse was farther from the castle and closer to the forest, and only AH2 students or personally approved ones, like Draco, were allowed to use it. The small runned down shack didn’t interest many students, anyway. It looked old and disheveled, nothing very appealing.
When he got there, the so-called greenhouse was empty and Neville was nowhere to be found. He wasn’t really in the mood to look for him, so he hovered around all the weird looking plants, many of which he had never even seen before.
As he walked, he noticed a small passage towards what seemed to be like an extension of the place. It ended up being much bigger than what it hinted to from the outside, probably by an Undetectable Extension charm, like the one he used for his bag. It looked more like a national botanical garden than a stupid herbology class greenhouse. Entering the room, a faint melody could be heard from what Draco assumed to be the solarium.
When Draco walked into the sunlit room, he saw her. He saw the bows in her hair first. They were yellow like her skirt and the laces on her shoes.
“Are you lost?” The girl asked without turning around. Draco’s taken aback. He didn’t think she had even noticed his presence. “What?” “I’m asking if you are lost.” She says matter-of-factly. “Oh. Well, I guess I kind of am.” He tries to find the right words by rubbing the back of his neck, “...Sorry.” but she turns to face him with a bright smile he definitely didn’t expect. “No worries! I completely understand. This place is an absolute maze!” Her laugh was warm and it made the boy dizzy. Haven’t heard anyone be so friendly to him in a long time, he tries to change the conversation, so as to not think about it too much. “I’m actually waiting for Longbottom.” “That makes sense.” She smiles. “You can wait here if you want. He shouldn’t take long.” Turning back to caring for her plants, she shifts on her feet. “So… what are you working on?”

Shameless, pt. 2
Snape x professor!reader fic
Tumblr media
Shameless Masterpost
hello there, we meet again it seems? B)
here is part two for Shameless. i tried my best proofreading it and editing some bits, but there is a high probability that there's some bits i missed. i did get distracted changing some things.
i really like this chapter, i feel like it starts to give you an idea of the reader's feelings towards snape. >B)
also, i won't lie, Camila Cabello's Shameless did inspire this fic, and it especially fits the moment between the reader and snape here.. hehe
hope you enjoy, please let me know! <3
anywho...
off we gooo!
Your first class had gone smoothly, apart from a little mishap where a student had cast Incendio instead of Lumos Solem. You'd quickly extinguished the fire with a quick Aguamenti, much to the amusement of your class. As of right now, you were trying to clean the soot and ash off of the table with a wet cloth, your fingers starting to ache and burn from the harsh grasp you had. Sighing, you should have seen this coming... a mistake was a given for a class of second-years. It didn't surprise you that the student at fault was none other than Neville Longbottom.
You'd kept him after class, not to scold him, but just to make sure he was alright. The boy did give himself a fright.
"I-I'm really sorry, Professor," Neville sighed, his eyes glued to the floor as he stood in front of you with a sad expression. "I just got my spells mixed up." He explained weakly, braving a glance at you.
"It's alright, Mr Longbottom, but you do need to be a little careful next time." You said, throwing a kind smile his way. He nodded frantically and his eyes were instantly locked on the floor again. You were sure he was bracing himself for a telling off. "I'd rather not have my classroom burn down on the first day, you know." You joked, trying to lighten the mood. You knew Neville didn't do it on purpose, he had a good heart and you'd noticed in class that he was rather clever at Herbology. So you gave him the benefit of the doubt.
The boy smiled weakly at you, nodding once more. "I will, Professor." He said, swallowing anxiously. You gestured to the door, silently dismissing him. Neville quickly scurried out of the door, hurrying himself to his next lesson.
As he left, a rather big and exasperated sigh fell from your lips. What else could go wrong? You glanced around, your nose crinkling up in slight annoyance. The mess that was left afterwards was a little... headache inducing. Piles of mud sat on top of the table and some of it had found it's way onto the ground. Apparently, it had slipped your mind that teaching twelve-year-olds with messy materials would equal... well, a bloody big mess. Perhaps you should have thought that through a little better.
"Scourgify." You said, waving your wand at the large, wooden table that sat in the middle of the greenhouse. The specks and mounds of mud suddenly dissipated from the table, and you were suddenly very thankful for magic. A content smile came to rest on your face as you turned around to walk towards your row of potted plants, your eyes landing on a rather beautiful Aconite, also known as Wolfsbane or Monkshood. Unlike the other free-flowing plants, you'd placed it inside a glass case due to it's dangerous toxicity. You did trust your students, but you preferred not to take the risk.
"Ah, Professor L/N, just who I was looking for!" Came an enthusiastic voice to the left of you. You twirled around, frowning as you did not recognise their voice. As your eyes landed on their tall, strawberry-blonde haired form, you clocked that it was none other than Gilderoy Lockhart. Gods, you weren't sure whether you had the patience to deal with this man right now. You'd actually rather deal with another bout of Snape right now, despite your bicker an hour earlier.
"Lockhart," You greeted softly, offering him a polite smile. You clasped your hands together in front of you, staying beside your plants. "What can I do for you?" You asked, hoping it was some sort of small favour.
"Merlin, you're just as beautiful as that utterly gorgeous Aconite beside you," Lockhart commented with a wink, his piercing blue eyes bouncing between your form and the fauna to your right. You groaned to yourself quietly. Lord, if he's just come here to get in your drawers, he'd better just walk out the door right now.
"Back to the point, Lockhart?" You sighed, massaging your temples as you felt a headache coming on.
"Oh, right, well.. what does one do when... one releases pixies in a classroom?" He asked cryptically, and you could only frown at him in utter confusion. Lockhart smiled innocently at you, and you could only arch a brow at him, waiting for more clues to what the hell he was getting at.
"Pixies...? What?" You repeated, still clueless. What the hell has this man done? And why is he getting you involved? It's your first bloody day back here! You just wanted a quiet first day... Is that too much to ask for?
"Would you please accompany me back to my classroom, Professor L/N?" Lockhart pleaded, running a hand through his perfectly-style locks. You tutted softly and rolled your eyes, gesturing for him to walk on. "It's easier if you see for yourself." He added and cleared his throat.
You followed the man to his classroom, the wind gently blowing through your leafy-brown and green robes. "What have you done, Lockhart?" You questioned him curiously as the two of you walked into the castle, rushing up the moving staircases as the clacks of your heels echoed out into the empty stone halls.
Lockhart chuckled awkwardly, keeping the grin on his face to soothe your worrisome one. You sighed quietly, preparing yourself for the worst as you rounded the corner to the door of his classroom.
With wide eyes of horror, you opened the door to the screams of students and the high-pitched cheers of Cornish Pixies. The hanging skeleton of a dragon had fallen to the ground, broken bone fragments scattered everywhere.
"Oh my-" You gasped, ducking as groups of pixies flew towards you. The students scurried like terrified mice around the room, a futile attempt to run and hide from the little purple terrors. "Immobulus!" You shouted, aiming your wand at the gaggle of fiendish pixies. Immediately they slowed down, almost like they were in slow motion. The screams from the students quietened down as they looked up, watching you quickly pushing the pixies back into their cage with your wand.
"Lockhart, you have some serious explaining to do!" You exclaimed and turned around, expecting to see the famous author, however, he was nowhere to be seen. An exasperated groan leaves your lips.
"Erm, Professor L/N, up here..." Came a familiar voice from above you. As you looked up to the source of the voice, you gasped in shock. Neville Longbottom was hanging from the chandelier by the hood of his cloak. Instantly, you flicked your wand at him, slowly levitating him to the ground.
"Not having a good day, are you, Neville?" You sighed, placing a hand against your cheek as you glanced around the room at the chaos. Books and parchment lay destroyed on the ground and desks, ink pots and quills were scattered amongst the war zone too. As you looked back to Neville, he shook his head and leaned against the table behind him, steadying himself. "Neither am I." You added quietly, mainly to yourself.
"Professor, what do we do now?" Another student asked. Looking to your right, it was none other than Harry Potter. You exhaled softly, feeling the frustration beginning to build up. Why was this happening to you? Did someone hex you? Gods.
You were clueless for a moment, you'd no idea what they'd been taught in Defense Against the Dark Arts, let alone what you should tell them to do. So you improvised. "For now, just open your books and revise some of the material that you learnt last year, please." You said tiredly, gesturing to the books that had been knocked on the floor during the chaos. "I'm sure Professor Lockhart will be back soon." You clenched your jaw the sound of his name - how could he be so careless? You were not a janitor, so why were you cleaning up his mess? To be frank, you were more angry at him for putting the students in a potentially dangerous scenario - Longbottom was hanging from the chandelier for crying out loud!
You couldn't leave the students unattended so you walked to Lockhart's desk and sat against it, your mind racing with insults to hurl at the author when he finally returned. The students all quickly rushed around, picking up their belongings and sitting themselves down at their desks.
"Professor?" A student asked, quirking your attention. You looked up and smiled weakly at them, prompting their question. The boy had bright blonde hair, slicked back, and he donned a cunning smirk on his face. Draco Malfoy, of course. "Do you know anything about the Dark Arts?" Draco asked, almost mockingly. The boys surrounding him laughed. You had to force yourself not to roll your eyes.
"Perhaps, Mr Malfoy." You replied nonchalantly. Honestly, you weren't very knowledgeable on the subject, it wasn't one of your strong-suits back in school. Of course, you knew bits and bobs of it, but you didn't believe you were fit to teach it.
"Perhaps, you can teach us a spell?" Draco asked with sly eyes, and you shook your head at him, prompting a disappointed groan from the said student. He was brave to be mocking a professor, you thought. Though, you weren't all too surprised, his last name was Malfoy after all.
"No, certainly not. Now, get on with your reading, please." You said sternly, almost at your wit's end. "And five points from Slytherin for being a smart-arse." You added, earning a scoff from the boy.
In all honesty, this is not how you expected your first day back at Hogwarts to go. You prepared yourself for a peaceful day - maybe with a few mishaps from students, but that was it. You did not expect to be pulled from a free period to deal with some rambunctious bloody pixies, released by a professor no less!
Currently, you were walking with McGonagall through the corridors, escorting the hoards of students back to their dorms after dinner in the Great Hall. The torches lit the way, casting a pretty amber hue against the bland stone walls. The air was a bit chilly, and so you wrapped your leafy-brown cloak around you tighter as the wind bit at your skin.
 "How was your first day, my dear?" McGonagall asked you, glancing at you from the side as the pair of you walked behind the gaggle of students.
A deep sigh left your lips, inducing an amused chuckle from the older witch. "Oh, Minerva, you have no idea." You groaned and let your fingers grasp the bridge of your nose momentarily, a sign of stress.
"That bad?" She laughed softly, arching a brow at you. You could only give her a disbelieving look.
"The first class of the day went well, until Longbottom set my table alight. Then, Lockhart decides to drag me into his mess!" You scoffed, keeping your voice quiet. Unfortunately for you, Lockhart had been avoiding you since the whole ordeal, so you hadn't had a chance to give him a piece of your mind. "I could've just about killed the man." Clenching your jaw in frustration, you suddenly hear a kerfuffle of gasps and a growing noise of mutterings coming from the group of students ahead as they all immediately came to a halt.
"I'll kill you!" A loud, gruffly voiced shouted from ahead. Gods, what now? You weren't always this wound up, but today had really tested you.
"What's going on?" McGonagall questioned worriedly as she began to swiftly move through the students. You followed suit, a perplexed frown gracing your face. As the two of you rounded the corner, your eyes widened in horror.
A message had been scrawled out on the wall in what looked to be blood. It read: The Chamber of Secrets has been opened, enemies of the heir... beware. As you glanced to the left, you noticed Filch's cat, Mrs Norris, was hanging from the metal torch-holder, blood dripping from her head. Your hand flew to your mouth.
"Bloody hell..." You muttered, stepping forwards to look closer at the haunting image.
Filch had a grip on Harry Potter's cloak, dragging him up to his face.
"Argus!" Dumbledore called from behind you, with Snape and Lockhart in tow. You stood back, allowing Dumbledore to step forwards towards the scene. As your eyes landed on Lockhart, his eyes met yours and they instantly widened. You glared at him and slipped past McGonagall and Dumbledore, your feet absentmindedly carrying you in his direction. Deep down you knew this wasn't the right time, but you couldn't hold back, he'd really angered you earlier. You reached out your hand and grabbed Lockhart's arm, dragging him away from the crowds of students and teachers.
With a muffled thud, Lockhart's back was against the wall. "If you ever pull that shit again, Lockhart, I will not hesitate to have you removed from this school. What were you thinking-"
 Before you could continue scolding the man, a firm hand grabbed your arm and pulled you away from Lockhart. You looked up to find a set of piercing, cold dark eyes staring down at you. Snape. You felt your heart leap up into your throat and your cheeks instantly burned hot as he kept his hand on your arm. The scent of smoke, books and a hint of sweet wine filled your nostrils as he moved closer to you, your bodies almost touching at this point. His scent was utterly intoxicating to you, and that scared you slightly.
"Have you no brain nor sense of timing, Professor L/N?" Snape scowled at you and you sunk down slightly at the threatening tone in his voice. You looked away from him in a rather poor show of defiance. He kept his voice quiet. "I don't believe this is quite the right time to be scolding your colleague." The Potions Master said sternly, nodding his head in the direction of the bloody message. You looked back at Snape, pushing your jaw out in frustration. You were silently wishing that this wasn't the way that the two of you happened to be in such close proximity.
Ripping your arm from his grasp, your hand flew up to gently rub where he had gripped you so harshly. You glanced back at Snape, who now looked furious at you. Suddenly, it felt like he'd stolen the air from your lungs - you weren't sure whether that was because of your silly little crush, or his intense, fiery stare. Perhaps both. He was right, you should have kept your cool with Lockhart, but today had really pushed you to your limits.
"But Severus-" You protested, your anger bubbling as Snape silenced you with his icy words.
"I am not one to defend Lockhart, however, there is a serious situation at hand." Snape added quietly, though his cold tone was still there. There was a beat of silence before he spoke again. "Not that it's my place, Professor L/N, but I would have thought as a Hufflepuff, you'd be abstaining from any sort of conflict, not... instigating it." He said, narrowing his hauntingly dark eyes at you.
"When it comes to stupid, incompetent mistakes that can endanger our students, I won't hesitate to say my part, Snape." You said frustratedly, leaning forwards as if to challenge him.
"Do not be foolish, Professor L/N," He stepped forwards, articulating each letter he spoke intimidatingly. You swallowed and flinched slightly at his sudden movement. As brave and courageous you painted yourself, he still did terrify you. Snape's glare deepened and he retracted himself slightly, letting his eyes flick between the pair of yours. "It seems you have not changed since your time here at Hogwarts. You are still that silly girl who did not think before she spoke."
Snape's words made you enraged. Your fists balled at the side of you once again, almost shaking. The muscles in your body tensed and went rigid from the rush of sudden anger that was coursing through you. Gods, how could someone make you feel such different emotions?
You scoffed and pushed past him, shoving his broad shoulder out of the way of you. As for now, you couldn't look at him, nor bear to be near him. You were worried you'd hex the man, or at least say something you'd regret. Despite your burning desire to hurt him back, you pushed the thought aside. You were the bigger person, and you would not stoop to his level. Unless it truly came to it, you suppose.
You stalked back to the other professors with Snape reluctantly trailing behind you. You stilled yourself beside McGonagall once more and she offered you a confused look, glancing between you and Snape as he came to stand near the wall, away from you.
You shook your head at her softly and shut your eyes for a brief moment, attempting to calm yourself down. This was not how you expected to start your second year of teaching at Hogwarts, conflicted feelings for your colleague, and developing a boiling bitterness for another. As the year progresses, perhaps you could fix it. Nothing is lost yet, right?
"She's not dead, Argus. She has been petrified." Dumbledore said in a soft tone, attempting to soothe the caretaker. Filch only stared at his beloved pet, shuffling in his spot, clearly distraught at what he'd come across. He was almost shaking with grief. A small wave of sympathy washed over you as you watched Filch try to compose himself. It couldn't be easy seeing something so dear to you hung in such a... morbid way.
However, that calm feeling was soon lost again as you saw Lockhart stood in front of Mrs Norris, inspecting the body. You quickly averted your gaze before your blood pressure rose uncontrollably and you spotted Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley stood in a row, looking rather worried. Your brows knitted together in confusion.
"Ah, thought so." Lockhart said confidently, glancing back at Dumbledore. You fought the urge to scoff at Lockhart's comment by looking to the right and biting your bottom lip. Gods, this man was almost as infuriating as Snape this morning. "So unlucky I wasn't there. I know exactly the countercurse that could've spared her." Lockhart added, staring at Dumbledore uneasily. This time you couldn't help but roll your eyes at him as you folded your arms against your chest.
"But how she's been petrified I cannot say." Dumbledore added, ignoring Lockhart's useless comments, his wise eyes studying the scene at hand.
"Ask him," Filch nodded towards Potter, his voice shaky. You frowned again, glancing at the boy. Surely not? "It's him that's done it." The greasy caretaker added with a look of despair and anger on his face. "You saw what he wrote on the wall."
Harry let out a curt sigh before turning towards Dumbledore. "It's not true, sir. I swear." He said. "I never touched Mrs Norris." Harry gestured towards Filch's cat, who was still unfortunately hanging by her tail on the metal arm of the torchlight.
"Rubbish!" Filch hissed, still staring angrily at the boy.
"If I might, Headmaster?" Snape suddenly interjected, his deep voice softer than you'd heard it before. Your head instantly snapped up to look at him, shocked to hear such a tone of voice on a cruel man like him. "Perhaps Potter and his friends were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time?" The Potions Master offered, seemingly wanting to deescalate the whole situation. Since when is he considerate? you wondered.
"However," Snape added, his voice returning to it's usual cold tone. There it is, you thought, fighting the itching urge to roll your eyes. "The circumstances are suspicious." Snape said, walking slowly towards the three students, almost intimidatingly. "I, for one, don't recall seeing Potter at dinner." He narrowed his eyes at the three of them, stopping just short of a metre away. He seems to have a habit of doing that.
"I'm afraid that's my doing, Severus," Lockhart called out, making Snape turn around to face him with a face like thunder. You loathed how you couldn't help but stare at him. A whirling storm of resentment and admiration gathered in your stomach as you gazed at him. Undoubtedly, he looked ethereal underneath the amber-coloured lighting in this hallway, despite the unhappy and disdainful look on his face.
Fuck. You hated it.
The flames illuminated his prominent features almost too perfectly. His large, aquiline nose and high cheekbones would ultimately be the death of you.
"You see, Harry was helping me answer my fan mail." Lockhart explained, glancing between Snape - who looked utterly confused - and Harry himself. Lockhart's voice to you was like someone scratching nails on a chalk board. Every time he spoke, the hairs on your body would stand on end - and not in a good way.
You despised the fact that these two men brought out such a hateful side of you so easily.
"That's why Ron and I went looking for him, professor," Hermione spoke up, looking towards Harry. "We'd just found him when he said..." Hermione trailed off, staring at Harry. Snape turned back to face the three students, his eyes narrowing in suspicion once again.
"Yes, Miss Granger?" Snape prompted.
"When I said I wasn't hungry." Harry interjected, looking back up at Snape. Ron nodded quickly in a nervous manner, glancing between the Potions Master and his friend Harry. "We were heading back to the common room when we found Mrs Norris." The boy explained. To you, it seemed like a solid explanation, however, Snape didn't seem too convinced as he spun around to look at Dumbledore, waiting for his thoughts on the whole situation.
"Innocent until proven guilty, Severus." Dumbledore stated, looking at Snape through his half-moon glasses. Reluctantly, you looked at Snape as he arched a brow disapprovingly at the Headmaster.
"My cat... has been petrified. I want to see some punishment!" Filch cried out, commanding your attention to him. The man was shaking with rage, and it made you a little uneasy. You glanced back at Snape, your eyes lingering a little too long on him.
"We will be able to cure her, Argus." Dumbledore assured the man, still trying to calm the tense moment. "As I understand it, Professor L/N has a very healthy growth of Mandrake." The Headmaster said, tearing you out of your daydream. Your eyes flicked to Dumbledore as he gestured at your form. Looking to Filch, you offered a warm and sympathetic smile to him, nodding in agreement with Dumbledore. "When matured, a potion will be made which will revive Mrs Norris." He said, turning towards the Potions Master and the three students.
Snape had his eyes glued to you, catching you by surprise. You immediately averted your eyes from his as your cheeks began to burn, betraying you. The overwhelming, icy stare from Snape made your heart pound against your rib cage.
Get a hold of yourself, for Merlin's sake.
Dumbledore's voice cut through the strange tension between you and Snape. The two of you broke eye-contact and looked to the older wizard. "In the meantime, I strongly recommend caution to all." The Headmaster warned, capturing your attention. You nodded at the older man, waiting to see if there was anything else he wanted to say. "Professor McGonagall, would you mind escorting Miss Granger, Mr Potter and Mr Weasley to their respective dormitories, please?"
"Of course. This way." McGonagall walked towards the three students, gesturing them forwards with her hands. You sighed softly and bid Dumbledore a warm goodnight, turning around to walk to your quarters. As you padded away, you turned around gingerly, your inquisitive eyes searching for the broody Potions Master that made your heart beat a little faster in two different ways. Unsurprisingly, he seemed to have already left. A twinge of disappointment twisted in your gut, and you felt conflicted between your emotions. That close - and almost intimate - encounter with him earlier truly made you think about things. You couldn't choose between hating him or liking him. Gods, were you in trouble now.
However, as you rounded the corner, it seemed your luck was playing out. You spotted Lockhart striding ahead of you.
there we are, part two over! whew. i hope you enjoyed it as much as i did writing it, and i hope there weren't too many mistakes lol!

Ginniversary Drabble 6
Prompt - N42 - it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife
AO3 or read below:
Is The Chosen One Choosing Marriage?
As famous witch and occasional novelist Jane Austen said, ‘it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife’, and today it appears even the Wizarding World’s most eligible saviour is not exempt from the basic laws of nature as Ginny Weasley, Holyhead Harpies star Chaser, and long-time girlfriend of Harry Potter, Auror and defeater of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, steps out bearing a new, and rather eye-catching piece of jewellery.
Weasley, 20, set tongues wagging as she left the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade late last night accompanied by longtime friends, esteemed Auror, Neville Longbottom, and lauded Magizoologist, Luna Lovegood; sporting a ruby and diamond ring which could be seen from across the street, and left none but the most oblivious in any doubt as to the size of Potter’s fortune [pictures page 4].
Sources from within the Hogsmeade establishment say that Weasley and friends were seen enjoying a round of drinks, over which she flaunted the ring for the admiration of her companions, accepting enthusiastic congratulations, and a hug from Longbottom that some suggest may have been too familiar.
There was no sign of the illustrious Mr Potter in attendance, but this can come as no surprise as sightings of the couple together outside of Weasley’s matches are rare, leading many rather optimistic readers, to speculate on several occasions previously that the pair had parted ways.
In an interview with popular wireless host, Lee Jordan, last year Weasley stated, “we’re not concerned with the headlines. As I’ve said to my brothers on many occasions, mine and Harry’s relationship is between us, and it’s no one else’s business… Now, let’s talk about Quidditch.”
Potter and Weasley were first officially spotted together in the Summer of 1998 [pictures page 5], though sources from their Hogwarts days advise the relationship has been going much longer than that [full relationship timeline, page 6].
“Weasley got her claws in him back in our fifth year,” said Romilda Vane, former classmate of Ginny Weasley. “She still had a boyfriend when she snogged Potter in front of the whole common room. It was quite pathetic actually.”
Other sources have debunked the suggestion that there was overlap between the beginning of Potter and Weasley’s relationship, and any of her previous romantic partners, of which there were apparently many.
Dean Thomas, up-and-coming artist, and one such conquest, has stated, “I’m only going to answer this once, Ginny and I were over before anything happened with her and Harry. We weren’t right for each other, we both knew it, and we’re both now with the people we’re meant to be with. We remain good friends, and, for the love of Merlin, I would like to be excluded from this narrative.”
We will, of course, let our readers draw their own conclusions.
Despite the rumours that abound about the couple's sordid past, the future apparently looks bright for Potter and Weasley, though no official statement has been forthcoming from the supposedly happy couple. When asked for comment, both Weasley’s and Potter’s representation declined to give one, leaving us here at Witch Weekly no choice but to speculate on if, and when, the pair will make it down the aisle.

WORTH THE WAIT
— ⟡ draco malfoy x f!reader
✎ summary: the slytherin gang decides to play truth or dare.
• notes: set in 6th year, mentions of alcohol, mentions of prison, gets a little heated but not much
Tumblr media
The Slytherin common room was peaceful as the six 6th years sat in silence, each in their own little world. Pansy and Daphne were sprawled across the floor, magazines in hand as they skimmed through the pages mindlessly. Theodore sat in the arm chair studying for the upcoming History of Magic exam while Blaise laid on the couch across from him, resting his eyes. On the other couch, Draco sat deep in thought with (Y/n) next to him reading a book. The six of them were used to relaxing and unwinding nights like this, having been friends since childhood.
“I’m bored” Pansy nonchalantly announced. The others turned their heads to her.
“Pans, you’re always bored unless you’ve got gin in your system” Daphne teases. Pansy slightly chuckled and rolled her eyes.
“Very funny, Daph” said the raven-haired girl, sighing. Pansy clicked her tongue, thinking of activities to cure her boredom. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head.
“Oh, I have an idea!” Pansy announced, sitting up, “let’s play truth or dare!”
“We aren’t 13 anymore, Pansy” Draco said, rolling his eyes. He’d been in quite the pissy mood lately. Nobody knew exactly why, but everyone figured it had something to do with his father’s imprisonment.
“You don’t have to be 13 to have fun with your friends, Draco” Pansy said, huffing at the blonde boy.
“I for one think it’s a great idea, Pansy” Daphne chimed in, now sitting up as well. Pansy smiled at her.
“I knew I could count on you, Daph” Pansy said, “what about you, (Y/n)? Up for a bit of fun?” Pansy leaned toward the (y/h/c) girl, a mischievous glimmer in her eyes.
“Oh, why the hell not” (Y/n) said smiling, putting her book down next to her. Pansy and Daphne smiled as they began to bother the boys about joining in on the game.
“Blaise? Theodore?” Daphne prompted. Theodore set his notes aside as turned to the blonde girl.
“I suppose a study break is in order” he said smiling, and Blaise nodded, sitting up on the couch.
“I guess I’ll join, as long as Mr. Grumpy-pants over here does too” Blaise said, smirking at his friend. He knew that Draco was stressing about something, and figured the game could distract the blonde from his worries. Draco turned his head to Blaise, a look of do I have to? written on his face. Blaise then returned with his own look that said yes, mate, c’mon don’t be a party pooper.
“Fine, I’ll join - but only because I wouldn’t want Blaise to bother me for the next bloody hour about this” said Draco. Blaise laughed as the others rolled their eyes at the blonde’s stubborn nature.
“It’ll be fun, Draco, you’ll see” said Daphne, playfully winking at her gloomy friend. Draco returned with an eye roll of his own. Daphne thought that if he would’ve done it once more, his eyes would be stuck in the back of his head. She slightly giggled at the thought.
“Shall we begin?” asked Theodore. Pansy nodded eagerly.
“I’ll go first” she said, “Daphne, truth or dare?”
“Truth” Daphne responded. Pansy smirked.
“Is it true you had a thing for Neville Longbottom last year?” Daphne gasped and playfully shoved Pansy.
“How did you know about that?!” exclaimed Daphne. Pansy chuckled.
“So it is true, then?” she prompted.
“Yes, but I don’t have a thing for him anymore - and stop dodging my question! How did you know?!” Daphne inquired.
Pansy gave her a mischievous smile and said, “a girl never tells her secrets.” Daphne shook her head in disbelief. Pansy always had a way of finding out gossip before anyone else. It was like a sixth sense or a superpower.
The game went on for a few minutes, with the group sharing some laughs and giggles. Even Draco seemed to finally relax and enjoy himself. It came time for Blaise to ask a question.
“(Y/n), truth or dare?” he asked, a mischievous smirk on his face. (Y/n) shot him a warning glance, hoping he didn’t make her do or say anything too stupid.
“Dare” she responded. Whatever idea Blaise had, the curious side of her wanted to know - even if it meant embarrassing herself.
“Hm… let’s see” Blaise pretended to ponder, “oh, I know! (Y/n), I dare you to give Draco hear a kiss.” Blaise’s smile was as big as could be, while (Y/n) was rendered nearly speechless and Draco’s eyes went wide, involuntarily blushing a crimson red.
Blaise knew that his best mate harbored deep feelings for the (y/h/c) girl. Ever since 2nd year, he’d had to listen to Draco’s long, drawn-out speeches about how much he adored (Y/n), and judging by the way (Y/n) always seemed to care for Draco in a different way than the others, he suspected she reciprocated Draco’s feelings. Besides, everyone always figured the two would end up together at some point, this was just Blaise’s way of hurrying up the process.
“I- uh- well, I suppose if Draco is okay with it” (Y/n) said, gaining some composure, “it would be silly to use a chicken so early in the game.” Blaise wasn’t buying her reasoning for wanting to complete the dare, but he had no complaints.
“Well, a dare is a dare, right (Y/n)?” Draco said smirking, putting on a nonchalant and cocky facade, even though internally he was panicked. He was finally about to kiss the girl of his dreams after years of pining and waiting. He wanted this kiss to be absolutely perfect.
“I suppose so” said (Y/n), blushing madly as she smiled at Draco. Truth be told, (Y/n) always had a bit of a thing for the blonde. He somehow managed to capture her heart with his sarcastic remarks and signature smirks, as well as his caring and protective nature that he tries oh so hard to conceal in front of others.
“Well, get to the kissing!” Pansy interrupted the awkward staring between the two anxious teens. Draco gave (Y/n) one more smirk, before cupping her face and leaning in to begin the dare.
“Are you sure about this, (Y/n/n)?” Draco whispered, his breathe fanning across (Y/n) cheek. She nodded bashfully and smiled sweetly.
“I am, Dray” she whispered back, making Draco blush at the use of his nickname, “kiss me.”
That was all Draco needed to hear before connecting his lips with hers. The world around the two seemed to stop for both Slytherins as their lips met for the first time. Neither of them were prepared for the intensity of the kiss, caused by the years of waiting and pining from both ends. Draco felt like a starving man who had finally eaten a ravishing meal, while (Y/n) felt like everything in her life just clicked. Before she knew of her attraction to the boy, whereas now she was certain he was her home.
Beginning passionately, yet gently, the kiss soon morphed into more, as their tongues danced together while their lips told stories of love and lust. Draco’s hand slid down from (Y/n)’s cheek down to her waist, pulling her even closer to him. He needed more of her. He needed her forever.
Ahem. A noise of discontent suddenly interrupted Draco and (Y/n)’s intense make out session. (Y/n) leaped back from Draco, and turned around to see her friends looking at the two with knowing looks on their faces.
“You know we are right here, correct?” Theodore said. He had a look of slight irritation on his face, but deep down he was happy his friends seemed to enjoy the kiss so much. It was about time those two got together, he thought. It seemed as if Pansy was thinking the same thing, as she had a small smirk on her face.
“Sorry” mumbled Draco. He slowly removed his hand from (Y/n’s) side and turned to face the others. His cheeks were decorated a dark red, even darker than before, and he was slightly embarrassed at how intimate he got with (Y/n) in front of their friends. Surely was worth it though, he thought, smiling to himself.
“To be fair, the dare was for us to kiss” (Y/n) said, shrugging. Blaise chuckled.
“Yes, I dared you two to kiss, not have a pg-13 make-out session in front of all of us” he said laughing. Daphne giggled from beside him.
“I mean for Merlin’s sake, get a room!” she said, still giggling. Pansy looked at her and gave her a sly look.
“You know, (Y/n), Daphne and I could always gather up the other girls for a day in Hogsmeade if you two do indeed need one” the raven-haired girl said winking. The other three bursted out laughing as Draco and (Y/n) mentally face-palmed.
“Very funny, Pansy” (Y/n) said, although deep down she was hoping she would be taking Pansy up on the offer.
After everyone settled down, the game continued for another few minutes before Blaise announced he’d be retiring to bed.
“I think I’ll join you, Blaise” Theodore said, following Blaise towards the dormitories, “big exam tomorrow. Need my beauty sleep.”
“You are such a nerd, Theodore” Daphne giggled. Theodore shot her a playful eye roll before the two boys disappeared into their dorms.
“We should probably get to bed too, Daph” Pansy said, “we barely studied at all and if we want any chance of being sharp, we better listen to Theo.”
“I guess he is the exam whizz” Daphne said, getting up and following Pansy to the girl’s dormitories, “you coming, (Y/n)?”
“I‘ll be there shortly, I want to study for just a bit more” said (Y/n), who was hoping Draco would join her. The girls shrugged and bid the two a goodnight before going to their dorm.
Once they were alone, Draco and (Y/n) sat in a tense silence. They both so desperately wanted to talk about the kiss, but neither knew how to bring it up. Finally, (Y/n) decided to break the silence.
“So…” she began, unsure how to bring it up. She turned to Draco to look at him, a smile on her face. Draco returned with a small smile of his own.
“So” he responded, “that was… fun.” He blushed as he awaited the (y/h/c) girl’s response.
“Definitely” she chuckled. They subconsciously scooted closer to each other, wanting to be as close to each other as possible.
“Um… look, (y/n)” Draco began, finally deciding to put down his walls and talk to her about how he felt, “I really like you. And not just in the way you think. I mean I really, really like you. I know that the kiss may have been just a dare to you, but to me, it was so much more. I just thought you should know that.”
Draco looked at (Y/n) with a look of want and nervousness on his face. His heart was beating twice the rate it normally was, and all he wanted was for her sweet touch to soothe him of his worries, and let him know she felt the same.
Like the angel she is, (Y/n) granted his wish, putting a gentle hand on his arm, rubbing gentle and calming circles on his shoulders. She smiled at him with a look of warmth and light in her eyes that could’ve illuminated the entire room.
“Dray…” she said, letting her other hand come up and stroke his cheek, “I feel the same way. I’ve always had a bit of a thing for you, I just never knew how you felt.”
Draco looked deeply into her (y/e/c) eyes, and leaned in to brush his lips against hers.
“Well, now you know” he smirked. With that, he closed the gap between their lips. Their mouths danced together in harmony and the two finally said everything they’d been holding in for the past few years. Their kiss continued for what seemed like hours, although neither teen seemed to mind. Once they finally pulled away, both had big cheeky grins and bright red cheeks.
“I guess all we needed was a push from Blaise” (Y/n) said giggling, “perhaps if he’d dared us sooner we wouldn’t have had to wait so long.” Draco chuckled.
“Well love, it certainly was worth the wait.”
