Fandom: My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Yu-Gi-Oh!

Series Summary: Having zero passion for Dueling or even Duel Monsters, Hachiman Hikigaya is the last person you would expect to even attempt to enter the most elite high school for upcoming Pro-Duelists and Card Designers in Japan and yet here he is. Wielding an Ojama Deck, this loser loner is forced to butt into the lives of other students after his dorm Resident Advisor, Professor Hiratsuka Shizuka, forces him to join the Service Club along with Yukino Yukinoshita, the Ice Queen of Obelisk Blue. Together, their clashing personalities and viewpoints must compromise as they attempt to solve problems around Duel Academy Island.

Chapter Summary: Hachiman Hikigaya gets flagged by Professor Shizuka Hiratsuka for his anti-thesis on having a goal in life. Meanwhile, Zaimokuza crashes the Service Club so he can attempt to better understand the inner workings of how lore and card effects work hand in hand.

Sighing, I looked through the door. Inside the clubroom, with the windows open as to allow the wind to funnel through, was a chubby man with silver hair tied back in a ponytail with his Slifer Red Duel Disk on and Duel Gazer already set. He was wearing a brown longcoat over his Slifer jacket and– Huh?

I opened the door.

“What are you doing here?” I asked Zaimokuza.

“Hachiman!” he said, smirking. “I require assistance and the great plunderer we call Tomioka had told me of this existence!”

“Is he, like, your friend?” Yuigahama asked.

“No,” I told her.

“He knows your name,” Yukinoshita said.

“He’s just my roommate,” I told her.

“Just your roommate?” Zaimokuza said before bellowing out a feigned chuckle. “Hachiman and I are not merely roommates, our destinies are inexplicably intertwined! Just as Monk of the Tenyi gathers his strength from Tenyi Spirit – Adhara, so too I gain my strength from Hachiman. ‘Why?’ or ‘How?’ you might ask. Well, the answer is quite simple: we are the reincarnations of the great god Hachiman and the legendary shogun Zaimokuza!”

“Is this like that pharaoh and priest thing?” Yuigahama asked.

“No,” I told her. “It’s a simple case of chuunibyou.”

“Chuunibyou?” Yukinoshita asked.

“Chuunibyou, also known as Eighth Grader Syndrome, is when a person has delusions of grandeur,” I explained. “They believe they are the main character of some kind of urban fantasy light novel, so to speak. In fact, Zaimokuza has it easy. I have a friend of a friend who had it worse.”

“Worse?” Yukinoshita looked at me. “How could something be possibly worse than that?”

I cleared my throat. “In the beginning, the universe was created by three syncretic deities of chaos, order, and void. These three deities fought for dominance and the resulting clash created the wor– That was close! I almost gave out lore.”

ANIME I CAN THINK OF THAT I WATCHED IN HIGH SCHOOL AND INTO MY TWENTIES LOL These are just the ones I was able to think of at the moment.

-FUTURE DIARY (bloody but good. It was the first show where I learned of the term Yandere. LMAO)

-ANOTHER (horror and gory but freaky and I liked it. if you like the Final Destination movies this is it) lol

-GUNSLINGER GIRL

-FAIRY TAIL (ERZA SCARLET IS STILL MY QUEEN. LOL)

-BLUE EXORCIST (just yes!)

-K-ON! (school slice of life with music lol)

-Corpse Party: Tortured Souls (It was creepy and the ending is not happy.)

-Highschool of the Dead (zombies and school life but really gory and shit hits the fan real quick so you see people go unhinged lol)

-High School DXD lol I took a chance and watched it out of curiosity back in the day and it was alright. Was not about the multiple love interests but I got through it.

-FREE! lol the swimming anime that was just visually stunning because of the water but you can tell the show was catering to a specific audience lol But it had its funny moments too.

-Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto (you must watch because it is too funny and good. I recommend highly)

-Toradora! (cute. just cute. lol I love the main character and the love interest)

-Golden Time (a nice passing the time anime but also cute.)

That is as much as I can remember right now I talk about other ones in the videos like Gintama lol Also, I just wanted to say because I talk about it in the videos but not clearly that just because I was not so into watching popular animes at that time when I was watching them religiously lol I was not trying to be cool it’s just that when I see something everywhere I just don’t want to see it anymore lol I like underrated anime because it feels like it’s personal and secret lol I like things that I can just be like, “oh, no one has seen it yet or bothered to look at it? Nice I want to see it.” Lol 😂 it’s nothing against popularity it just doesn’t attract my attention as it should and everyone talking about it and telling me constantly to see it just overwhelms me and I am less eager to see it. It’s the same with books and other forms of entertainment. I love to see something once it dies down a little on the noise. This is also why I at times wait like 3 weeks to almost a whole month to see a new film once it comes out lol I did with John Wick. Haha imagine an anime. it took me like two to three years to even get warmed up to watch Fairy Tail and even Hunter X Hunter. Lol 😂 Y’all I even pick certain times in the day to do my errands because of how many people be out and about a certain times. 😂😂😂I love my solitude and being able to go about things without too many people up in it. 😭It’s just my personal preference. Haha

Life Thing Update Words ETC!!!!

Ok the exclamation points are kind of a lie. I’m just excited for words in general and not necessarily for what the words mean.

I played in a pug (pick up game) in overwatch for the first time in years. Somethings have never changed though. Little to no rules, no one really plays too hard, I off role’d to help my team. Everyone was nice though and just played the game.

Been listening to a lot of Fall Out Boy recently and made one of my 10 song playlists for it.

Been also listening to a lot of Halsey lately (hopeless fountain kingdom).

Been having a lot of fun times with friends.

They both play Wrecking Ball and I just of just select the hero and roll around. I thought the picture best described how skillful we are at the hero. Also its titled “We are children of wrecking ball” which is also the new name of are group chat.

also my friend said this to me and I laughed extremely hard at it. I think I was talking about how he gets angry at the game sometimes and rage quits lol.

Worked 2 straight weeks for the first time since I got sick, hurt my shoulder, than got sick again. So lets go everyone loves money (I hate money actually).

I finished my rewatch of Toradora. Finished Tomo-chan Is A Girl, super good show. Saw Creed 3 awhile ago and never talked about it here, also really good. Gonna rewatch another romcom soon but I’m not sure if I want to rewatch My Little Monster or Your Lie In April (and cry). Could always go for a Lovely Complex rewatch. Our Love Has Always Been 10 centimeters Apart wasn’t too bad. Blue Spring Ride was good. Oresuki Are you the only one who loves me? was fucking hilarious. Wish that show got another season. Its sad that the last season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU was so fucking weird. The animators were like “nah this is the actual best girl” and forgot there was a storyline till like the very last episode. Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie was good but its apart of the list of shows I’ve watched but didn’t finish but liked them. I can’t actually do a rewatch of Given because I’ve never finished Given because I get to episode 9 and rewatch it 25 times in a row till I pass out every time.

I don’t know. Life is a lot less sad lately. Been super busy. But I’ve been ok.

I going to get a cake at the end of the summer to celebrate 2 years of freedom.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Review!

Welcome to a new anime review! Today, I'll be reviewing the well-known My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU!

So, My Teen Romantic Comedy is... a romantic comedy. Wow, that was unexpected, right? Well, sometimes it's better when things are clear right from the start.

This anime was adapted from a light novel and first aired on television in 2013 and has three seasons of 12-13 episodes each. Season Three aired in 2020, so it's still pretty fresh.

To begin, Season One focuses on introducing the characters and the setting of the anime. It's done pretty well, although I couldn't help but feel some moments were on the boring side. The plot tends to advance only during specific episodes, which can make it seem a little dragged on from time to time. Still, this anime is excellent at having good endings to its seasons, so this was a pretty satisfying start.

Season Two was my favorite of the three. It had some moments I found quite beautiful and emotional, and focused a lot on relationships - which is what you expect from a romcom. The characters were fleshed out a little more, and the plot finally got going for real.

Finally, Season Three was a good continuation of its prequel. Perhaps not as great, but still very solid thanks to its better consistency. It answers a lot of questions from the first two seasons, and the ending is one that will either make you smile or cry. For me, it was the former, but I would definitely understand shedding a tear at certain moments.

When it comes to the story, this anime does well. It's not overly complicated - and as I said before, some parts feel a little long - but it does the job. There are definitely ups and downs, and while the downs aren't bad, the ups are definitely highlights of the anime.

I'll draw a comparison to Toradora! in the sense that this anime is more than just a romcom. It also has a psychological approach to the relationships and characters, which makes for incredible character development for the MCs. That's a winning recipe.

The characters themselves are good. There's a main trio that definitely carries the show, but the side cast is pretty enjoyable, especially a few characters. Still, a couple of them may be a little annoying, haha.

The comedic elements are actually pretty scarce in this anime, but they're used well, and I did laugh quite a bit when watching. As for romance, it lacks a bit in S1-2, but there's definitely more in the last season.

In terms of art, this anime is good without being spectacular. However, the animation (especially from Season Two onwards) is amazing. That's some movie quality stuff. I was both surprised and impressed, to be honest.

The music is really good, and a few tracks are easily recognizable (and quite catchy). It has some good variety, too. I didn't find any of the openings amazing, but they're not bad either.

Overall, this anime is very good, without a doubt. It's not my favorite romcom, but it's clearly worth watching, especially if you enjoy this more psychological approach to romantic relationships. It's good stuff!

Ninjas Roam the City in 1st Visual and Trailer for Original Anime Shinobi no Ittoki

After an intriguing announcement in February that contained only the studio, the above visual and a 2022 release date, upcoming original anime Shinobi no Ittoki today uncovered a full arsenal of info, firing off the first visual, trailer, cast and staff details, while also cementing an October 2022 broadcast window.

Transcript:

(Yukinon and Hikigaya begin walking up the bridge)

Hikigaya: “Sorry to drag you into this.”

Yukinon: “It was inevitable. There’s no way I could have refused in this situation.”

Yukinon: “Seriously, what are you doing?”

(Yukinon, in denial, that after everything, Hikigaya persistently tries to be with her)

Yukinon: “I don’t get this at all.”

(Yukinon slightly ahead of Hikigaya, walking up the entrance of the bridge)

Yukinon: “It actually felt terrifying watching my own family get coaxed along like that.”

Hikigaya: “I wasn’t really doing anything of the sort.”

Hikigaya: “To be honest, I’m terrified by the fact that they just backed down.”

Yukinon: “Good point.”

Yukinon: “My mom and sister definitely aren’t the type to give up that easily.”

(Hikigaya, awkwardly asking if he can move ahead because he has a bike, Yukinon shakes her head in disagreement)

Yukinon: “That look my mother had... It was the same one she has when she looks at my sister.”

Hikigaya: “Do you mean she acknowledged you?”

Yukinon: “She might have given up on me instead.”

[...]

Yukinon: “Why did you say something so absurd?”

Hikigaya: “That was the only way I could stay associated with you.”

Yukinon: “...Huh?”

Hikigaya: “With the club ending, we’d lose our only real place of contact.”

Hikigaya: “I couldn’t think of another excuse to you to come to me.”

(Yukinon stops in her place, as Hikigaya moves up slightly ahead)

Yukinon: “Why would you do that?”

Yukinon: “What about your promise? I asked you to grant her wish.”

Hikigaya: “We could say that this is a part of it.”

(Hikigaya puts the stop on his bike on the bridge)

Hikigaya: “Because she told me she wanted you to be a part of our afternoons filled with nothing.”

Yukinon: “Then there was no reason for you to do all of that...”

Hikigaya: “As if.”

Hikigaya: “Acquaintances, associates, friends, classmates. You can call it whatever you want. But I have no confidence I maintain that kind of relationship.”

Yukinon: “That may be true for you, but I’m going to do this. I’m going to get better at doing this!”

(As Yukinon, walks out of Hikigaya’s way creating distance between them)

[...]

Hikigaya: “This may hurt to hear, but both of us have pretty much zero communication skills, and we make things too complicated.”

Hikigaya: “Not to mention that we’re absolutely terrible at socializing!”

Hikigaya: “I don’t think we can start doing it well now!”

Hikigaya: “Creating any distance between us won’t be the end of it, and I’m positive we’ll just drift apart even further apart!”

(Hikigaya starts to run after Yukinon as she walks further away)

(Yukinon begins to walk faster and further away as Hikigaya reaches out his hand)

(Hikigaya realizing that Yukinon is getting too far away)

(Determined - Hikigaya, begins to gain speed and run after Yukinon)

Hikigaya: “That’s why...!” (as he grabs Yukinon’s hand)

Hikigaya: “If I let you go, I can’t grab hold of you again.”

Hikigaya: “This is extremely embarrassing for me to say, and I’d like to drop dead right about now, but...saying all that stuff about “taking responsibility” was totally insufficient...I don’t feel an obligation to do this...It’s more like I want that responsibility. Or rather ...I want you to let me have it...”

(Hikigaya, finally lets go of Yukinon’s hand, and they blush and look away from each other for a brief moment)

(Yukinon rubbing her wrist and hand, where Hikigaya held tightly)

Hikigaya: “It might not be something you’re wishing for, but I want to remain involved with you. This isn’t about obligation, but desire.”

Hikigaya: “So...allow me the privilege of distorting your life.”

(Yukinon shocked, realizing what he really means)

Yukinon: “What do you mean “distort”? What do you mean by that word?”

Hikigaya: “Well, I don’t mean that I have enough influence to change your whole life or anything. I think both you and I go on to university like normal, reluctantly join the workforce, and then go on to live decent lives. But if we’re involved with each other, we’ll take detours, stay at a standstill, and things like that, right? That’s why I’ll distort your life a little.”

(Yukinon sighs in relief, and then smiles, knowing what Hikigaya means)

Yukinon: “If that’s what you mean, then my life’s been distorted for a while now.”

Hikigaya: “I agree.”

Hikigaya: “We met, talked, learned, and then separated...and at each my life got distorted.”

Yukinon: “But you were already distorted from the very beginning.”

Yukinon: “I was, too, though.”

Hikigaya: “And things are going to get even more distorted. But as long as I keep distorting your life, I intend to pay a price to make up for it. ”

Hikigaya: “Well, I have basically have no assets, so the only things I can give you are time, emotions, the future, a life and other vague stuff like that. I’m not living much of a life, and I don’t have a lot of prospects for the future. But as long as I’m involved in someone else’s life, I have to give something, otherwise it’s not fair.”

Hikigaya: “I’ll give you anything and everything, so please let me be involved in your life.”

[...]

(Yukinon blushing and somewhat upset)

Yukinon: “You’re wrong...There’s no balance to that at all!”

(Yukinon, upset, knowing very well, that is completely unfair for only her to rely on him)

Yukinon: “There’s not that much value in the path that I walk to the future.”

Yukinon: “In comparison, you have...”

Hikigaya: “That’s a relief, then.”

Hikigaya: “As it stands, there’s not much value in my life. It’s an unpopular brand that has so little value it can’t get any lower than it already is. It’s basically bottomed out. In a sense, you could consider it a principal-protected investment. Now’s the best time to buy in!”

Yukinon: “You make it sound like a huge scam.”

(Gently punching Hikigaya’s chest)

Yukinon: “Learn to present yourself better!”

(Yukinon, upset, knowing Hikigaya is worth much more than he always tends to describes himself to her)

Yukinon: “Why are you standing there spouting all this stupid stuff that doesn’t matter? There’s something else you should be saying!”

(Yukinon, knowing full-well he is talking about “love” but does not have the bravery or courage to be upfront about it)

Hikigaya: “I can’t say it. No way. You really think I can put that into words?”

Yukinon: “I think I may be a very tiresome person to deal with.”

Hikigaya: “I know that.”

Yukinon: “In any case, I’ve done nothing but cause you problems.”

Hikigaya: “I’m used to that.”

Yukinon: “I’m stubborn, and I’m not very charming.”

Hikigaya: “Yeah, that’s true.”

Yukinon: “I wanted you to deny that part, though...”

(Hoping Hikigaya would at least deny one thing about her)

Hikigaya: “That’s a tall order.”

Yukinon: “I feel like I’ll only become more useless as I continue to rely on you.”

Hikigaya: “Which means I just to have to become more useless than that. If we’re all useless, then no one is.”

Yukinon: “And also-!”

(Yukinon tries to deny every moment of Hikigaya doing everything for her)

Hikigaya: “It’s fine.”

Hikigaya: “I don’t mind how tiresome you get. Or how burdensome. I could even say that’s a good thing about you.”

Yukinon: “What?”

Yukinon: “That doesn’t make me happy at all!”

(As Yukinon, lightly jabs at Hikigaya’s chest)

Hikigaya: “Ouch...”

(Yukinon, then gently grabs and tugs a small part of Hikigaya’s scarf)

Yukinon: “There’s more than that, right?”

(Yukinon puts her hand down, then Hikigaya grabs her hand, and puts her hand on his heart)

(Surprised, Yukinon looks back at Hikigaya as he does this)

Hikigaya: “It may not be enough compensation for distorting your life, but well...I’ll give you everything. If you do not want it, then throw it away. If it’s annoying, then just forget about it. I’m still going to do it regardless, so I don’t need you to reply.”

Yukinon: “Well, I’m going to say it clearly.”

(Yukinon then grasps part of Hikigaya’s blazer then begins to lean on him)

Yukinon: “Please allow me to have...your life.”

Hikigaya: “That’s stiff.”

Yukinon: “I don’t know any other way to say it, so deal with it.”

(Yukinon completely leaning on him, almost crying)

(Hikigaya, then fully embraces Yukinon, and they hug each other)

Hello everyone, so I used to have a Tumblr a long, long time ago; 5 years to be exact; but have chosen this time, because on this very site I used to endlessly blog and jot down so many theories and thoughts about the possibilities - the sheer possibilities, of this couple, this ship being a thing.

AND THEN IT FINALLY HAPPENED. 100% CONFIRMED.

AFTER STORY CONFIRMED TO BE IN THE WORKS

Sadly, I do not have the receipts or any core theory pieces or fragments from my past blog because it was wiped. Attempting to reconstruct any form of it from past memory, from what I thought from this, solely came from the fact Yukinon and Hikigaya, despite having so many disagreements and dragging each other down almost in some instances - they always watched out for each other. They always did. No matter if it was Hikigaya for Yukinon’s sake, or Yukinon for Hikigaya’s sake even in the some of the most simple scenarios.

I always thought the beginning of S3, was so daunting because the sheer separation of the Service Club caused so much anguish, because each one of them felt for a different desire for another. Although, the entire premise going out of his own way to be there for Yukinon. Is absolutely the cutest and most romantic proactive thing someone could do for someone they ‘genuinely’ loved.

Yes, I did go out of my own way to write the entire transcript of that five minute sequence because it is so incredibly memorable, cute, and heartwarming. As many have claimed from the start, they were absolutely meant for each other, knowing how much they rely, trust, and lean on one another. The writing is just so beautiful and always gets my heart pounding, and I practically cry every time. I could watch this a million times, I could never ever grow tired of it. Protect these two AT ALL COSTS 😭💗💗💗💗 it being well worth the seven years of waiting, was such an understatement, I am so excited for whenever the After Story for these two gets animated. My heart will not be able to handle it.
