kaiser - THE most trans-coded of the bunch imo. like the whole thing with the blue rose tattoo to represent "turning the impossible into reality" and "defying the natural order of things". and his full name is "michael kaiser" which can be interpreted as "god's chosen emperor". there's no way bro was given that name at birth. he's also coded to have religious trauma which would become much more layered if you interpret him as trans. he's also, interestingly enough, the only one to NOT have a metal chain around his neck on his cover. he's the only one with glass. a lot of ppl have interpreted this as him having a fragile ego, but glass can also be taken to symbolize transformation (i just pulled this from a random website talking about the spiritual meaning of glass lmao). ALSO also him being annoyed by his long hair in ness's flashback. trans. plus his insecurity concerning how good he is in comparison to (who he perceives as) cis players just screams insecure trans masc who's relying too much on toxic masculinity to affirm his gender to his peers lmao.

ness - he totally thought he would have to fight his parents on this but they were surprisingly cool with it + even helped him w puberty blockers and stuff. he still hates them for the anti-magic stuff but at least they're not transphobic?

Oh boy. If you're here on my account then you probably already know who I am and how absolutely insane I am for them, but I'm gonna ramble anyway LOL thanks for giving me the opportunity to show people on Tumblr how insane I am ‼✌😁 If people who don't know me from twitter find this, hi I'm TK! I may be a little deranged for Yoshiden, just a tiny bit y'know- Yoshiden means a lot to me for various reasons but I'll just put down all my insane ramblings down belowwww [CSM Spoilers if anime onlys/new readers find this post somehow] [Serious Section] -Denji's distrust/disliking for men/straight up internalized homophobia is most likely because of his past abusers being male (the mafia and his father), so if he starts to trust Yoshida throughout the course of part 2 and they end up forming an actual bond, whether it's romantic or platonic, it kind of helps Denji get over his distrust and help him cope with that trauma knowing that hey not all dudes are that bad actually, this guy's pretty nice. (You could say that Beam already did that and they had a good bond too but Beam is... y'know... *finger across neck* bleh... and Denji still emphasizes he wouldn't let a dude sit on him in 104 so...)

-Surprise surprise, I'm in on the bi Denji agenda because I'm bisexual and all my favs have to be bi 😁😁/hj But seriously, bi Denji is a pretty good concept cause aside from getting rid of his internalized homophobia, it also helps him get over/cope with his trauma as I said above. Part 1 was all about Denji learning about different kinds of love (familial love from the Hayakawa family, romantic love from Reze, and the mess that is sexual->maternal->abusive love from Makima, etc etc), so exploring his sexuality in part 2 could be a nice little addition to that. (Bonus points for the new kind of familial love he has for Nayuta now that he's her older brother/father figure; bonus BONUS points if Yoshida's the other dad LOL) [Delusional Absolutely Normal Section] -Yoshida's canonically a pretty boy as stated by another guy, so maybe if Denji stares at him long enough he'll realize guys can be as pretty as girls too and think it's fine to find guys attractive LMAO

-We all agree Yoshida's gay or at least mspec mlm leaning/preference right? Right. -Anyway, I'M A TOTAL SUCKER FOR ONE-SIDED LOVE STORIES LOL I'd like to think Yoshida has coworkers who could've taken the job of watching over Denji but he deliberately asked to do the job because he found him cute back in part 1, though realistically he probably only got chosen for the job cause he knew about Denji's identity already and he's also in high school, but we're not here for realism, we're here for gay people. (Gay people being Hirofumi Yoshida.) (Did you see him at the table with Angel while Denji and Power were talking about barf and stuff? Dude was smiling while listening to them talk about random shit, he probably became interested in Denji then and there; hell, even the goddamn onigiri scene where Denji still eats it after it fell to the ground probably made him go 'woah this guy is sick in the head I'm in love') Back to the one sided thing, the idea of Yoshida being willing to die while protecting Denji is???? insane??? and I love it because it really shows how devoted he is not only to his job but to Denji in general. He's never truly lost his temper at Denji, even when he used his bare hands on the cake, even when he let himself get sat on by girls, and even how he only wants to reveal himself as Chainsaw Man just to get a girlfriend. Sure, he called him hopeless in the recent chapter, but he never raised his voice or fought back. He's always trying to be patient with him even when he's being completely ridiculous. Copypasting what I've said on twitter here: If someone started scooping and eating the cake I bought with their bare hands, I wouldn't just sit there and go "Aaaaaah!", I'd definitely get pissed. Yoshida has FEELINGS for this boy, I swear. He said NOTHING about it. NOTHING. No "Why the hell'd you do that?" or "Dude that's gross" OR ANYTHING, he immediately just goes back to talking about trying to prevent Denji from revealing his identity. If someone I liked, however, would eat cake with their bare hands, I'd just be embarrassed but also find it cute so I'd let it slide. (Tested and proven 👍)

If, miraculously, Yoshida canonically confesses to Denji, he'd probably still pine for him even if Denji turns him down, which he probably will. Yoshida realizes, after being his bodyguard for a while, that he really enjoys Denji and being around him; he'd get too attached to those feelings and still shower him with appreciation even if he knows it'll never be reciprocated. Just knowing that Denji's being given the love he deserves is enough for him, even if Denji doesn't want or care about that love. It's kinda selfish of Yoshida, but he doesn't care, all he cares about is that he likes Denji and he's willing to keep that up until he dies. -Anywayyyyy, even though they're both good in battle they're both absolute fucking losers LOL Yoshida getting thrown out the window is and will always be my favorite scene from him. Denji got called a loser by Asa, so maybe if Denji just turned his head 90 degrees after that rejection, he would've seen another loser and they could've been the most pathetic loser4loser couple in existence, it's great, c'mon Denji just accept you can like men already

-I kinda maybe kin Yoshida soooo- 💀 I mostly started kinning him for his appearance and how he's visibly deranged in part 1 LOL, but seeing his attitude towards Denji in part 2 really made me like wow he just like me fr‼ I'm sick in the head for this cute guy who is also kinda sick in the head‼ So yeah that really added to my appreciation for yoshiden LMAOSKJSDKF Ok that's all it's almost 6am and my brain is empty, maybe I'll add to this later, hopefully that answers your question anon 😁👍‼‼‼💥💥💥 I dunno if you expected an essay but BOOM, I hope I get a good score LOL

Makima: Streets on Fire, Lupe Fiasco. -Listen to this song and tell me its not so her. “My femme fatale, my darling fraudulent angel.” At certain points it’s as if it’s talking ab a sickness/infection but Makima’s control can be see in that way. I would argue that chainsaw man is an inherently queer piece of media. Even considering the main characters rampant heterosexuality and Fujimoto’s clear love for his female cast (lol), any lgbt person reading csm is sure to notice how reminiscent, even nostalgic, of transsexuality, homosexuality and other unconventional forms of attraction Fujimoto built chainsaw man’s world to be. Not meaning that their is a lack of homo/transphobia in the csm universe or in Fujimoto’s ideological views (quite the opposite actually). But Fujimoto has continually proven to enjoy and put effort into writing lgbt storylines. In Fire Punch there is a trans male MC and two gay male side characters. One of his short stories follows a guy who wakes up suddenly as a girl, and ends with the character deciding to maintain a male identity.

In chainsaw man there are even more instances of “queerness” influencing the world building, which includes the featuring of lgbt characters. The most obvious example is Quanxi and her 4 weed smoking girlfriends (and I do acknowledge that she is partly a result of lesbian fetishism on Fujimoto’s part. It would be ignorant to pretend that she isn’t—but I also don’t think that negates her mentioning here). The mechanics of fiends and devilmen, which deal largely with recreating and reutilizing the body in a way and for what it wasn’t originally intended, is something that really speaks to be as a trans person. Denji being “reborn” after contracting with Pochita, and being sewn into a new person with different bodily experiences, feelings, etc, can be correlated to surgery and body modification, including gender-affirming surgery.

There’s Angel devil and Aki’s deal paralleling Aki’s relationship with Himeno, there’s Beam’s deal, etc etc. I remember reading somewhere that Fujimoto’s read BL. I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting and that fact alone makes me really happy. Even with real world homophobia and transphobia making itself present in Fujimoto’s stories chainsaw man’s still manages to feature Lgbt characters and themes so casually, as if understanding that negative attitudes towards something does not make that something go away. Idk even with my love for media that centers lgbt issues I also have so much gratitude for media like Chainsaw man where lgbt people can just be there, and it’s not a grab for representation, and the creator isn’t trying to make a ethical point by including them. It’s as much of a theme of chainsaw man as it’s criticism of dehumanizing labor.

That post that was talking about Fujimoto referencing from actual autists and gay people for his stories was so true. What I’m saying is is that Yoshida is fujobait and gay until proven otherwise frrrr fr

Hmmm 🤔 my favs are always changing but at the moment.

1. Gokurakugai: Alma is a precious cinnamon roll who loves his mentor Miss Tao like a sister. I really love their platonic relationship and the fact that Alma is incredibly emotionally balanced. Like he's not this typical macho guy. Probably because he's surrounded by strong female role models. It's really refreshing for Shonen and I really hope it gets an anime series because I think it has the potential to be as big as JJK and Demon Slayer.

2. Jujutsu Kaisen: I love Yuuji as a ML and I'm usually a side character gal. So it's great to actually like the lead character. I've noticed in this current generation of Manga and Anime that our Male Leads are becoming much more well rounded and likeable. I love Yuuji's strength and his resilience, he definitely deserves all the love and hugs. I also of course love Gojo and I kind of hope Mappa deviates from the manga in regards to his fate because man that hurt.

3. Demon Slayer: I read the manga start to finish and loved every minute of it. The anime series is just as good. I love all of the characters in this in their own rights. From the protagonist to the villains for me at least the author got everything right. It's Shonen at its best. To be able to make your audience love Rengoku in such a short time is an amazing feat. To care so much that you feel as devastated as Tanjiro to me the Mugen train arc is a masterclass in story telling. It's sad that the series will be coming to an end soon but I think for me this will always be in my top 5.

4. Ghost in the Shell: This is the movie that started my love of anime/manga. It's a cinematic masterpiece and everyone should watch it at least once. It was well ahead of its time and it's not surprising that it inspired the Matrix.

5. Hells Paradise: I love the manga and the anime. Gabimaru is so relatable to me, I think we share the same sarcastic and apathetic nature lol. I love it as well because it gave us one of the best disabled characters in current manga generation. Shion is an epic character for the disabled community, being partially blind myself it's nice to be represented you know? And he's not full of loathing or self pity, he embraces his blindness and uses it to his advantage. He's funny, kind, strong and handsome. He never questions Sagiri's competence, he doesn't try to send her of to the kitchen like his colleagues. He recognises her talent and encourages her to achieve her goals. In short Shion needs to be protected at all costs.

6. Chainsaw Man: when I first saw this pop up on Shonen Jump I didn't have high hopes. It seemed like a crack series but this is exactly why you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. I love this series even though it hurts me 😭. Denji is a typical hormonal teen, power is a ball of chaos and Aki is just trying to keep everything together. Plus Angel 😇 is one of my fav characters of all time maybe because he reminds me of my daughter lol.

7. Elfen Lied: this is another classic anime the violence is on par with AOT but once you get past that you have this heart wrenching story. Lucy is a monster created by her environment and the abuse she suffered. This is also one of the most beautifully animated series of all time. The art is phenomenal.

8. Solo Leveling: I fell in love with the Manwha and was so excited when it got picked up for a series. I'm loving the anime so far, though I'm two episodes behind. Due to my sight loss I have to wait for the English dub but dubs have gotten way better than when I first started watching anime in the early 2000's. I love Jinwoo's tenacity and the fact that he just cuts through the villains. He never really worries about whether that makes him a bad person. Sometimes you just want to see bad people get what's coming to them. Plus this has some of the most epic fight scenes, I can't wait to see them animated.

9. Tokyo Ghoul: I spent most of Tokyo Ghoul crying ugly tears 😭. Ken Keneki has one of the most heartbreaking storylines in all of anime. It's just painful to read/watch Gege definitely took a leaf out of the Tokyo ghoul book when writing JJK. Yet still I couldn't put it down, I'm a sucker for punishment. It's a great mix of characters as well, I love that we see goth culture mixed in there as well. You do get those Crow vibes the way it's so gothic in inspiration and the art work is stunning. I think the only illustrator that tops it is Yuta Sano.

10. Attack on Titan: AOT has been deemed controversial because of it's fascist themes. However I think it's only problematic if you think Eren is the hero in this story. I actually really can't stand Eren, it's pretty obvious that he's been radicalised by his experiences early on. The foreshadowing is strong with him you know he's not going to turn out well from the start. The real protagonists for me are Armin, Levi and Hange. Like these three are definitely trying to save their comrades and people. Whereas Mikasa is constantly having to save Eren and Eren jumps to mass genocide pretty quick. Levi almost feels like he's representing the audience with his snarky commentary. I also love Levi and Hanges platonic friendship. They really get each other and their banter is a joy to watch especially in the first season.

ok here’s my thought from earlier (sorry i disappeared i found my teacher and took a test) anyways so aki and angel working a norma routine case blah blah blah oh no disaster strikes aki is mortally wounded. angel tries to call for help but his hands r shaking so much that he drops his phone which cracks and he starts sobbing bc aki is dying and there’s nothing he can do and he’s so sad bc he’s gonna lose this happiness he found after all these years of tragedy and sorrow and aki just reaches out a weak hand and tucks angels hair up behind his ear and angel starts freaking out more bc aki just touched him and he’s already dying and now he’s losing years and angel starts crying harder and aki just shushes him gently and smiles up at him through his own tears as angels tears drop down into his lap and aki pulls angel over and rests his head in his lap and now angels tears drop onto his face and he smiles up at angel as their tears of sorrow roll down his face and he whispers “don’t cry love, i’ll always be with u, i love u” and then he lifts his head and kisses angel long and hard and angel can feel akis fleeting life slipping out of aki and into him and he just cries and cries as they kiss

denji and power show up hours later to find angel cradling akis face with red eyes and a tear streaked face with akis head still on angels lap and a smile on his face

why. why would you think of that. /nm /said through tears. fucking hell angel never gets a break <\3 but I love this because. ough their relationship is doomed by the narrative and it just makes it more beautiful bc it hurts so much and. aggggghhhg aki just dying happy bc he can finally touch angel without fear of the consequences (not that he cared much anyway lol)

oh god wait. angel is a full devil right not a hybrid or a fiend right. what if he accidentally made some kind of contract with aki in the kiss like aki is literally just living inside him now T-T

What's CSM OP AU's general reaction to luffy?

due to surprisingly extended lore I made the hell up with my friend, special division's target is Luffy!

For short: they all like him! Except Makima, she doesn't care at all about him

For long, because I can't keep my mouth shut:

Though the only one who met him beforehand was Kishibe cuz he was at marineford (didn't fight or anything he kinda pulled a Garp on there with the excuse of "well I'm protecting the guy"). He thinks Luffy's a funny kid and is interested in all trouble he's gonna get into in the future lol

Not getting too much into timelines and the actual lore in my head, they all enjoy Luffy a lot. He, Denji and Power are so dorky and just get along greatly even if he joins their bickering at times or just laugh at it. Aki respects him and won't admit it out loud but agrees a lot with his views at times, tho he tries to keep cautious because well. Pirates.

Beam and Angel also have a lot of respect for him for saving their homelands (fishmen island and skypiea respectively)
